thanks Liz
it was posted and some saw it but I didn't see it here until the other day
I've been here at all sorts of different times over the past few days!
coming and going quite a bit, so not really chatting too much.
Very sweet icon, Flosey. Love it!
ineresting, and you just see it today - I could see it if I clicked on my account but the flowers stayed here for days

Word couldn't be added. Please try again in a minute. :((
took 6 minutes to get back in
Hope we can get together when I'm in Ontario in September, Kate
Excuse me flosey - Kate I made the toast and it was wonderful!
Only had pepperidge farm but the thin slices worked wonderfully!Thank you!
pant
Kate may not be able to get back in - we were having "tantrum" problems
from the server that is
Thx - I'm having them too.
I'll catch her one night...They were delicious!
love your owls, I have one that lives up the hill behind the house, he often comes down and sits on the fence post just outside my office window
what kind of sandwich was it, HO
It was French Toast. ..But instead of using plain bread, she used thomases raisin bread.
oh, sounds interesting
My store didn't have it so we used Pepperidge Farm which is a thin slice.
I am not familiar with Thomases but we have bakeries in both of our grocery stores, I'll try it
I will never understand how you can make THICK slices of french toast cooked properly!
It is worth it!
FWs
Won't do it every day or even every week, but 2-3x per year should keep doctors away from us!
but a pleasant change from the usual - we most often have rolled oats with cranberries - and, as you say, waffles a few times throughout a year
wtg diz
well done diz
Yeah, we spread out the not so good for us stuff, but it's better than some of the things they come up with!
I got off to a very slow start tonight, wasn't seeing much of anything
We are apparently supposed to put our tastebuds in drydock!
will just aim at 100 before I sign off, 9 to go, window cleaner is coming tomorrow at 8:
Even though both our docs haaven't found anything they can say NONONO to!
yes, I've been drinking coffee since I was 12, Doc cup me down to 1 a day!
how can I help? still need 60 but maybe none of them are yours!
and a small glass of wine with dinner - but actually that doesn't bother me as much as the coffee - was use to it 3 meals a day
And yet two or 3 different "health" books, mags, whatever - have found that it is GOOD for you!
I only have 1 ge word the guy
I will NOT give up my coffee!
which guy? the normal one or the freak?

I had trouble with the server earlier :(
lynn is doing great, busy with the book store
bye HO
it seems to have settled for now, pugs
How did it go today Rose? Better then before
please give her my regards, was thinking of Joan the other day
not really, hun. but i had the magnesium with me, and that helped
sorry to hear that Rose--You may just have to put off returning right now
and my unit manager is so lovely, not at all pushy. when i told her how it was the other day, SHE suggested just going for one hour.
that was nice of her and is that what you did today? Just an hour
she wants me to be happy at work, and if i can't do the 2 hours, well she would rather i went home. my GP has written me up for 1-2 hour shifts only for the next 4 weeks.
Back again - having changed the calendars. According to one calendar I am to wish the Finns happy Vappu, the Swiss Happy Forsta Maj and the Mexicans a Happy Labour Day, although I think the latter may be some kind of contradiction in terms . . . (just joking, Mexico, please don't shoot me!!!)
thats good! Can you handle that, do you think
i did the 2 hours today, but i had the magnesium, so i wasn't as bad as the other day
welcome back Wor--glad to know you are up to date now-lol
lol - oh, I wouldn't be able to rest unless I'd changed the calendars and wished everyone a happy something or another!!!
i think so, pugs. with both the mother's dying, i am actually about 4 weeks behind in recovery. so these 4 weeks will allow my body to catch up.
just please be careful Rose--hate to see you take a setback now--love ya, you know
i know, dearest, and it is reciprocated.
yes rose, everything came at once, was far too much
You take it slow Mum xx otherwise I'll be flying over there to sort you out!! x
i'm so fortunate to have you all as friends. you let me vent, high or low, then help me settle back down.
It seems that your workplace is kind enough to work with you and thats a big plus
ws all too much for a body in good normal working condition
pugs, this manager's predecessors were the pits. they would push me so hard. she is so insightful and understanding. plus our new ANUM knows me very well, and is also behind me 100%. to have that sort of support in the workplace is very unusual.
funny how the grid lets you have some rude words and not others . . . (not that I look for them, obviously!)
hmmm, worzel you tried wank didn't you? lol....so did i
oooooo Mother - how roooood!!!! pmsl xx
well Rose you are an unusual person-lol And you should have that! :)
and the way you phrased it wasn't much better!!!
and enable doesn't recognise nanna, a quite common term over here for a grandmother.
oh, dear worzel, roflol
on a similar theme - phantom crack!
but I think it does accept nana ?
and there are two favourite feline past-times in the grid today, both ca6/24
yes, flosey, which i find very strange
does the 9 come from the fourth column e?
ne9, comes from the n in the first column
eg8, comes from the e in the top row
monkeyed negotiate then, thinking it was the word, only to find no e at the end lmao!!!
shit think i gave away the answer then - soooooooooo sorry!!!!!!!!!!!
almost, worzel. the word is someone who does that
ok, have 101 words, can pick up the other 69 tomorrow, goodnight all
good morning all
nn flosey take care xx
hope you are ableyo sleep tonight, dearest flosey.
hi and bye flosey, I hope you can sleep
good night flosey
good morning Sprite--hugs
*able to*
thanks all - happy babbling
*bounce, bounce* SPRITEY!!!! XXXXXXXXX
*hugs rose and pugs* Hello my dear friends
heya sprite xx
hello worzel
sprite, GP has put me on 1-2 hour shifts. at my unit managers suggestion.
oh nice! And is that doable for you?
yes, hun, very. it means if i need to sit down, and have time out, like i needed the other day, i can have it.
and that's for the next 4 weeks.
oh much better then. Well thought through and a very good idea. How do you feel about it?
pugs, thanks for your funny May card :) Very sweet.
i took the magnesium this AM about 1 hour in, and it did help. nevertheless, by the time i saw the GP i was still very shaky, sweaty, and nauseated.
which are all signs of overtaxing, rose.
you are welcome Sprite
sprite, with both the mother's deaths i am about 4 weeks behind in my recovery. i am thinking in 4 weeks, i will be chafing at the bit.
BUT, i promise, i will still only increase my hours when i am able to tolerate them.
yeah if you make it through the four weeks-:)
probably, darling. So be ready to pace yourself by then. Let's be honest, 4 weeks to get over 2 deaths is nothing.
oh ho, the pugs has just had a piece of me...lolol
yes, tolerate them WITHOUT the whole shaking, sweating and being nauseated thing.
I still think its too soon but Iam no doctor
exactly, sprite. GP was most concerned, and quite understood about the pain triggering the FM.
I have faith in rose's ability to judge if she is ready, as long as she listens to her body
it's so weird...i don't feel the pain, but when this stuff starts, i take pain med and it goes away. it has to be the pain, surely. if it wasn't, the pain med wouldn't help.
Sprite, we are talking about Rose! lol--the person that was up washing walls and going shopping way too soon
*smug* already greyed out the bottom row.
* chuckling to myself* that's exactly what went through my mind when i saw the grid.
sounds like a bit of dissociation to me, rose. You have been forced for too long to push away the pain and now you don't notice it in time. It will get better if you keep on paying attention to the signals.
*giggles*
hey pugs, i sat down to wash the walls. and okay, the shopping was a tad out of line.
Wor's mankini is almost in the grid-lol
pugs is right about that, rose... be sensible about it and pace yourself. For a second, think and imagine having to go through all this again... right, not worth it.
well put it back pugs, i know where it's been.
roflollll rose!
gotcha, sprite
*hugs rose*
so how are you Sprite--how was the funeral and did you get to rest afterwards
how are you today, pugs?
well, the pool is closed tomorrow, i get to snooze in if i so desire. oh, and we went down to the moto guzzi dealer yesterday.beautiful bike!
hahaha pugs, snap
the funeral was good, a beautiful service with ample space for the grandson to speak and light candles for his grandma. Very touching. Physically way too taxing, but I knew that beforehand. Am gonna rest today, was in too much pa4 yesterday, lol.
Iam good--yesterday my sugar was the lowest yet--132---had to go to the dietition and then went to a thrift store to get me a couple of pants. Due to the weight loss walking and trying to keep up my others was a p4 --lol
sounds good, rose. Plans on buying a bike or just windowshopping?
oh wow pugs, well done on the sugar! And on buying new pants. Wtg!
LOL--the other day was walking Annapooh and before I knew it my pants had fallen to my knees--glad I was alone out there walking
oh lololol! About time for new ones then :D
that what I thought too--lol
intack
yikes--sorry
looks like rose got squirreled away
potty time
tsk not even valid. And I tried, just to m ake sure :P
so you get today to rest and do the things you need for yourself
lol-I know
yeah, all I am gonna do today is laundry. My love is home today so I am gonna ask him to take care of walking the dog. My back is killing me, but it was worth it.
when I first moved here, there was a house at each end of my road and I was in the middle and I use to turn my horse lose and we would walk the road and he would follow like a puppy
awww that is so sweet
i wish, sprite, pugs. just had the return to work officer on the phone. at least she also is supportive and not pushy.
thats good Sprite--you need it and my back was killing me too last night--Maybe a hot shower will help your back
ah ok... that at least is good, rose. So she is supporting your suggestions?
good Rose--just take care of you!
maybe, pugs, if I take it sitting down. Standing is a problem today. But sitting is an option, we do have a plastic stool in the bathroom just for that purpose.
yes, she is. and sprite, the moto guzzi has a much lower profile, easier for me to get on and off.
awesome, rose! I want a picture of you on the bike if you buy it :D
so what color did you pick out Rose
sprite, and take the magnesium, hun. your kidneys are fine and dandy, aren't they?
absolutely, rose, nothing wrong with those. I will!
silver-grey and black. we don't have a lot of choice because of the style of bike we are getting.
we? so don is getting one too or are you both riding the one
bkes should be black/grey/silver imo. All those gaudy colours are just blech.
we are both riding the one. i'm afraid i can only pillion these days.
what happen to the hot tub you were wanting
but riding pillion is so much better than having to stay at home, rose...
as long as the driver is trustworthy-lol
I take it that is Don... and he will be careful with his Rose behind him.
oh that's coming too pugs, and the new kitchen, and, and, and. but i want to get over this rehab stuff first.
am really happy for you that all this is possible now, rose. You deserve the very best :)
I found a flower :)
that hot-tub would do wonders for you I think and get all the jet sprayers you can get-lol
don is a wonderful rider, and apparently i'm a good pillion. if we are out riding, all of a sudden his hand comes back, to pat me on the leg, just checking to see if i am still there.
awww that is sweet. So he claims that is to check if you are still there huh... nice excuse. I love smart men.
thats sweet Rose
*giggles* sprite. yeah, copping a feel do you think?
am pretty sure, rose :)
Sprite, you sound experenced with that-lol
*grins* Hm yeah, guess I am
with Rob home today are you sure you are going to just rest? lol
errrr pretty sure, alas. Too much pa4.
it's nice, though. because you sometimes feel as if you have been forgotten. then we got the intercom. lol. he says it was to stop me from punching him in the ribs everytime we hit a rut.
roflol rose
poor sprite. it's so difficult for our men folk. i know with don he gets frustrated and angry, because he can't protect me from the pa4
oh and an artificial sweetener, I think. Nice, that was an 8
same with my husband, rose. My father better not walk in front of Rob's care. Seriously.
car*, not care
yes sprite, ma8 is an artificial sweetener, but it piles on the weight because of the way it works.
I am against all artificial sweeteners. Either use sugar or stevia.
which is why stevia is such a blessing. do you have that over there, sprite, pugs?
yes, it is finally allowed here.
lolol, snap sprite
I will have to look Rose--Iam like Sprite on the false stuff
yeah, lots of people don't seem to understand about the artificial stuff. you can tell them and tell them. then you get the ones like my bro, who consumed gallons of diet drink each day, and couldn't work out why he was putting weight on.
I know Rose--they dont look at the sodiom--which makes the body hold water
when he stopped drinking the diet products, and started drinking the ones sweetened with sugar, because he knew about the sugar, he cut back on the amount, and lost weight.
it is scary, rose. I have raised my children without any diet stuff. My opinion is that our body doesn't know what to do with the stuff. And we don't know what the consequences are of putting it in our body.
I feel like the things God made is the best for us
also, it is becoming more and more clear that our body reacts in a certain way to stuff that tastes sweet, even if it isn't sugar.
well i allow myself one 200ml glass/day. that is my treat. the rest of the time i drink water, fruit juice watered down, and a couple of cups of coffee only.
My sister is sending me some figs off of her tree--Ive never had them before--these are white ones
coffee, water, mineral water, and fruit juice watered down with mineral water. Oh, something you might try, it is refreshing: a couple of cucumber slices in mineral water or ice water.
figs are wonderful, pugs.
oh dear. poor don has just thrown up, outside. he said he just ca4 over all hot, and vomited. he only has pain in his shoulder, not in his face ( migraine ).
poor man. No sun stroke?
ahh poor Don
sounds nice, sprite. the other thing i drink is iced tea, green tea ( lots of ) and i love a good hot, strong cup of earl grey tea.
Hi all :)
hey Liz :)
theres lots of animals in this grid today
pugs, those figs will help you with the problem you were writing to me about. you never did get back to me and tell me what happened. tssk, tssk. *giggle*
Hi Liz, hugs and how are you today
g'day liz
oh, now that I see Liz, I remember: I have made another puzzle for jigidi, with fire doves. For our friend puglet, but you can all do it if you like, grin.
Hope you are all well - sorry haven't been around much to chat
all is okay--sorry Rose--I think it was the meds
I did it a couple of days ago - loved it - as I do all your puzzles.
saw that sprite.
How was work today, Rose?
better than tuesday. had the magnesium today. it helped.
thanks :)
Good - does it feel good to be back or would you rather be at home ;)
Did you have a great time with your friend, Sprite?
oh yes, Liz, we had a great time :) Am missing her already.
it is good to be back, with all my work friends. *giggle* it took me nearly 15 minutes to leave the other day.
How far does she live from you?
Hanging around after work, chatting, was always the best bit!
Well - I guess that's not strictly true! I did enjoy being with the kids I taught!
OK that surprised me - I'd've spelt the ma 8 with only one n!
Sprite how far does your friend live from you
about 200 km pugs
So how often do you get to see her?
do you ever go spend time at her home
depends on our schedules, but this time it had been a long time... more than a year.
sometimes, pugs. Haven't been able to for a long time, but am planning on going sometime this year.
:( - I miss my UK friends, so know that must be hard for you too.
yeah it is. But she is coming back soon! She is going to come for a whole week this summer, and help us clean the house. We have quite a backlog on that, so it is awesome :D
That's awesome - something really good to look forward to.
it is :D
thats really nice of her to do
isn't it? I appreciate it so much.
How much cleaning will get done in between the chatting though???? Well, that's another matter!
hehehe that is what she said, and she said she is going to do one project every morning, and then we can chat in the afternoon and evening.
BTW still haven't ruled out a day trip to Amsterdam!
oh gooooood! Would LOVE to see you.
I'll e mail you nearer the time.
looks like we won't go on vacation this year, so I will be here.
As long as I don't clash with your friend!
if so, I will try and meet up with you in the morning, grin
:)
That was nice - just "assaulted" by my hubby!
awwww that is lovely
Yup - it was!
hmmm, looks across at don, and remembers just in time what happened in the garden. * sigh * tomorrow?? no hydro, no pain...for me...
What happened in the garden?
is he feeling a little better already?
fireflies
Congrats, Sprite :)
congrats Sprite
thank you, my friends :)
Is Don not well???
liz, the poor love took poorly, and was sick. if it's not me, it's him. * sigh * but it makes the times when we are both well all the more precious.
WTG SPRITE!!
*hugs to you all* I wish you a blessed day and a peaceful night, in any order appliccable.
Poor Don - overindulged on his b'day (I know it was a couple of days ago now)! Seriuosly - hope he feels better soon.
You too Sprite - hugs :)
hugs Sprite and take care and rest up--love
enjoy your day, dearest sprite. and don't forget the magnesium. xoxox
so do i, liz. with no hydro, and thus not a great deal of pain, and able to snooze. i am hoping he will awaken feeling romantic...lol

Hi wv
t
hello everybody. 80 while lurking before lunch
xoxox ruby
{{rosie, scrabs, crossy and everybody}}
hi dpomfr and ruby
I don't know if it's the changeable weather or wht, but I am dead tired and it's only 1PM
We are in the midst of many rainy days that will continue for at least another week.
rain here, too, and colder than it was in March
and the too-early tomato plants I put in are 3/4 dead
awww ruby. i am so sorry, dear. but mother nature is just too whimsical.
Oh, no, ruby.
this is a crazy year. Winter was to warm to kill insects and bacteria, early spring was glorious, late April and now are poopy
And I think, maybe, I'm getting old :(, reacting to weather
good morning
{{annie}}} so nice to see you, dear
rose, are you back at work yet? and, of course, it is a joy to see you
{annie]}
I feel coffee making calling me, be back soon
((ruby)))
yes, annie. i went back 2 days ago, second day was today. just 2 hours each day.
((ruby))
rose, I hope you are not taxing yourself
annie....i have to do this. my GP has stepped in, and ordered 1-2 hours for 2 days next week, then 1-2 hours for 3 days for the next 3 weeks.
sounds like a good plan. easing your way back. wish you the best.
thanx annie. and you dear? how is your world?
right now my world, literally, is fog. cannot see out the window that is how thick it is. I am doing okay for an old lady.
*hopes a gentle zephyr springs up* good for you annie. are you still able to get out much?
Definitely. Thank G-d. My friend came up from Florida last week and we went into the city by subway and walked out feet off. The next day we felt it but what the heck?
walking.. sigh.. i remember having knees...
lolol, wow. my dips me lid, annie, to a great lady. *fingers crossed* in a few weeks maybe me also.
crossy, good morning
howdy, annie
okay 20 minutes to pumpkin time. xoxox to you all. i hope your days/eves are all you hope for. i need to find the pj's...not sure where i left them this AM...oh, honey...did you see...?? * fades away quietly* psst, enjoy the grid...lolol
have a good rest, granny
bye rose, sweet dreams
on phone with my sister At this distance, we have the best relationship we've ever had. How weired is that?
not weird at all
How are things in Rego Park?
not weird at all ruby. My beloved used to have world war 2 while growing up under her mums roof but as soon as we got married, and she moved away, they became best of friends
Her ife is awful. Caring for a huband who won't get out of bed, requires 24/7 care, and won't speak to her. She calls herself "the management" from organizing all the aides
refuses to get out of bed, or cannot get out of bed?
ruby, that is awful.
Refuses. Isns't really sick, just nutso
He is charming with the aides and won't speak to her
ahh, it is tough to deal with mental issues at home like that.
Unfortunately, she has no choice
ruby, you know it is me and Bobby. I worry about him very much but I am so very happy I do not have to deal with a very difficult spouse.
Of all the women I know (many) the ones who are most happy as they grow older are without their husbands as long as they have enough money to live
You sister's husband sounds like my ex husband. RIP. My second husband was a jewel of a man.
i pray that in later years that I never become a horrible burden to my wife
My 1st husband is remarried and sickly (strokes, diabetes, etc) and I'm sure his wife has her hands full.
Crossy, you are such a good man, that you could NEVER be a burden to anybody!!!!
aww...
only 87 words but it's time for a lie-down. Today is a holiday here, so there's no mail
have a good rest, ruby
well, we shall see what another 20 years do to this magnificent mass of muscle of mine:)
tc ((ruby))
On most corner and traffic circles they sell lilies of the valley for this holiday. For luck? I have no idea
I am totlly poop-ed! lol
what holiday?
ruby! no popping in the chog!
1 May, "Workers of the world unite" lol
socialist france
well, uniting is fine, but only if you kill some politician
Im with you, crossy. I can think of a few.
I think we can think of many:)
Somehow, it doesn't seem to be working here. Unemployment is very high and nobody seems to be getting married any more. All of my friends here have grown sons, some unemployed, living with them
By the time we are finished, the House and the Senate would b almost emply
*empty
I do not know about this in the states, but here, you only have to hold a parlimentry position for 4 years and you are good for a full pension for life!!.. on the tax payers money..
hahaha
and full medical care, crossy
and they all have what we woud have called illegitimate children, mostly being raised by the grandmothers
well, that is a given here
What a mess
They don't get married, maybe because the single mothers get better benefits
kids can no longer afford to leave the nest. My son is 20 and i do not see him going out on his own any time soon:(
aaah, there is a little bit of sunshine....
99% of the 18-25 years olds at my learning center are pregnant
crossy, is your son in university or working or both?
i have one who sits next to me. she is 22 and she is about to have her third child.. from father #3
I'm talking about "boys" in their 30's or mre, living in ,their mothers' basements. often converted to apartments
right now he is looking for work, annie
ahh the italian syndrome, ruby? lol
I wish him good luck in his search.
never move out because nobody cooks like mama
I guess the syndrome came across the Alps
{{crossy and annie}}
and the rent is taken care of by parents
yup
back to the grid for me
so, i tell my kid, as long as you are laying about around here, you are my personal slave
How did I get so lucky. They both grew up, married, children and jobs. Neither live with us. I'm waiting for the bubble to burst
No bubbles bursting.
well, it is off to classes for crossy. TC all and happy babbling!
bye crossy
kind of odd when you think about it; my kid is laying around the house while i am back in school at the age of 50 and hitting the books... poink!
I dont see how this grid has 170 words
I don't see the g has 11 words
I only have 2 G's
me too
going to the list
not yet, I only have 41. I try not to list until I'm half way and have NBT and NBS
I have 96 words and I dont bother with nbt or nbs
Wait, there's a 9 letter word in here. Don't believe it
hi all! I have 4 G's - ge5 (rub a magic lamp for one), ge4 - a well behhaved guy (riiiight) - ge7 - the ge4 and a man's name (like the first of the guy who wrote the 007 stories) and gi5 - really, really big. Can't find any more, and I've been looking! :(
they must be really odd G's, is all I can deduce. :P
ge 7/36 ----ge 7 violet --old type medicine
ty rbud, now I have 4 too
ge and brit thank you
yes, that's the ge7, I knew it went with a color but couldn't remember which, lol
There is also Gi 5/14 a large person
gi4/10 most of a tree with yellow leaves
hi Lin, have that one
oops you already mentioned that one!

Hello babbleworld...how's the grid today?
hi Jilly.
A little sticky.
no plurals
Hi Jilly.... it's a little tough, twisty words !
Hi hego :-)
Hi Diane
Perhaps a couple of Latin plurals ;-)
yes
Dove in anyway, seeing quite a few...but know, as always, it'll clog somewhere!
20 remaining but I'm going to list... going out tonight with some grandkids to see a live production of Shrek at their school.
hi everyone.. new phones today and I'm feeling verrry stooopid, couldn
't answer it, lol
nothing like new tech stuff to make you feel stupid!
amen to that hego!
Hi Aloy.
these school productions really amaze me.... these kids are so talented and self confident.
:D
high school?
I'm sticking with my plain little old cell phone.... nothing fancy but it does all that I need.
Yes, Aloyisius .
And, Diane, once you get used to the bells and whistles, you are spoiled for life.
Absolutely dependant upon my smart phone...
slave for life. lol
Wow! A live production of Shrek? Thats very ambitious. Best of luck to all concerned. My daughters class staged Mama Mia a couple of years back & it was wonderful.
I don't have enough braincells to keep my life straight. Everything goes on my phone!
have a lot to learn, missing my old phone with Navigator on it.. so I guess now I'll have to learn which app replaces it. Fortunately, the phone has a built in tutorial, phew.,.
Both sound amazing!
Hello soodle dear...pea green with envy on you and River meeting up !
what kind is it Aloy?
Soodle!! Hello Love!
And, hey, Jill, Hego, Aloy, Diane :-)
Samsung Galaxy s5
hi there Soodle

Yes, there must be pics!

Yup. All going well, River arrives here tomorrow. They have a very busy schedule. Our plan is that I will travel to Galway this day next week for the very first Babble meet up. Watch this space..... Lol
we are excited for you
We are all excited!
Hi soodle ! I'm excited for you too !!
We are meeting Soodle vicariously.
Golly - this meet-up is a hugely positive thing in my life right now. I really am excited. :-)
You deserve it soodle dear!
I'm glad, Soodle.
:-)
Have a wonderful time with, River, Soodle & i hope the weather is nice for the duration :-)

Must go. Lovely to see all of you! Take care!
Hello, Aloy & all :-)
Hello zoozzoom!
Hi and Bye Zooz.

Hey ((((Zooz))))
nbt/nbs and 60 words in...8's/9 done!
Good going, Jilly!
*wipes brow*
lol
doesn't "do not call" apply to all the refinancing your mortgage people?
Anyone you do any business with....
But I am seeing more and more calling. And, unfortunatly, it does not apply to political people!
or charities
We remind all of ours that we only donate to those SENDING us requests NOT calling. Has taken a while, but they have learned...
Jill, is today your birthday? I'm confused with timezones etc....
Yesterday...fully 24 hours older...*shudders*
aww, happy belated birthday to you, Jilly!
Belated Birthday wishes to you, Jilly :-)
Oh, my. I'm sorry I missed it. Many belated happy returns, (Jilly)))))
Dear God, how can I be 56! But thank you soodle and zoozzoom. Had a busy but nice day!
must scoot.. tc all, happy babbling
bye aloy!
Bye bye, Aloy :-)
Jilly... you are just 3 years older than my oldest daughter and I still consider her a "kid".... enjoy your 50's... they were great years !!
I miss being 40...and part of it is work...seems that the hospital is after all the older nurses...feel a breeze on my neck!
Jilly. When I turned 50 .... 3 and a half years ago, i discovered that a huge clerical error had been made on my Birth Certificate. I was, in fact only 25. Some silly official just made a slip of the pen. (Thats my story, & I'm sticking to it). Lol
lol
actually laughing out loud nere !! Great fantasy !
Nice try, Soodle :-)
I turned 50 this year.
And Denial is not just a river in Egypt.. ....
Love that thought soodle.
Just seems my 50's are whizzing by...
Just glad hubby is two years older and hits the big ones before me!
Same here, Jilly
Welcome to the 50's zoozzoom!
god.. I didn't know I was associating with so many OLD farts
lol Hello, RuRu :-)
careful :-)
*aiming at ruru's buttocks*
*tightens up cheeks*
Teehee
*whack*
Shoot, Jilly, Shoot!
YaY!
Ah, Zooz.... That was a landmark birthday. Did you let Babbleland know on the day? Or did you do a Zooz on it an let the occasion go unmarked?
I got a tattoo on my 50th...my last 'up yours move'
A few here knew but i tried to keep it low key :-)
When was it, Zooz?
February 11th :-)
Well, truth be told, birthdays are better than the alternative!
Meh. Belated congratulations, Old Bean. :-)
I used to look forward to birthdays..
Never a truer word, Jilly ,
lol..you mean ole bean not old..lol
Hello Ru
Clue for the ne9, please?
Soz, Zooz. Ole Pal!!! Lol
lol..That's better :-)
marc, it is the person helping two parties come to an agreement
... a person who has discussions about coming to an agreement
Early night for me as i am rather tired..Happy babbling everyone...Soodle have a wonderful meet-up with, Riverdance...bye for now.
Ya know what? 50's are not so bad. You can get away with stuff that would have been unacceptable in younger years. Viva Les Over 50's, I say!
Niters zooz! Sweet sleeps!
Bye, Zooz. (((())))
thanks
Good point soodle, and some businesses give senior discounts at 50 or 55
Starting to get a little babble blind...time for a break...90 left...
Nite, (((((Jilly)))€
Don't know if anybody is left on here.... But, truly, if my fairy godmother appeared before me right now, and volunteered to whisk me back to being 20 again, I think I would say 'Thanks, but no thanks'!
Of course, if the same fairy godmother were to offer me the winning numbers in the next lottery draw, I might be a tad more appreciative...

Hey Soodle!!
hi all

Yay. Thats it! Thank you Dawg. :-)
And enjoy your soup Peri. (I'd love a bowl of homemade mushroom soup now.... Drool).
Hi, soodle
I went to read bedtime story to grandson and went to sleep as well. Old age!!
hi all. cant get these words. darn. usually can get half way. any clues for the 9? also clue for some G words since i only have three.
Hi, mkg. I am finding gs hard too
ne9=person who acts to get an agreement between two parties
Note to self: 'mankini' is not in the grid and probably not in the Babble dictionary either, so stop typing it! Also, stop seeing the awful vision of Ali G wearing it.
Hi folks. Back to find my final 46 words.
Hi Everybody. Just starting out and actually got the clues for the 9!! Thanks! :-)
Hi Nef.
How are you Jacula? Haven't seen you in a long time (might be my fault; have had a bunch of computer and internet problems this past several months)
I don't come to the chog very often, Nef, so that's probably why we haven't met lately. Sorry to hear about your IT problems. I'm well and I hope you and yours are, too?
We are doing good right now. Son's divorce was finalized on Tuesday, he and our grandson live with us now; Hubbywasn't doing well the beginning of the year but is 95% better again
Ooh! I just found an eg8/55.
Nef - Hope hubby is fully better soon and that you all settle down together okay. x
DH is doing as well as expected since he doesn't always listen to his doctors or his wife. ;-) Seriously, he's been diagnosed with M.S. for 26 years now; and has outlived his mother (who also had M.s.) and he still walks most of the time
That's good, Nef. Sounds like he's doing well.
How's life treating you and yours these days?
(BTW, thanks for the eg 8 clue!)
We're fine thanks, Nef. Beloved had an awful food poisoning bug a couple of months ago that laid him low for a couple of weeks. He lost 21 pounds in about 4 days. He's well again now, though.
Did he regain the weight (that's a heck of a diet!)
nef, your husband sounds like mine!
I don't think he's put it all back on (yet) but his face looks a little less drawn than it did.
really, jaxx? In the not following all his medical advice? Or the M.S.?
In not following the the medical advice.
Hi jaxx. I think most men are like that! :(
and in doing the same with their wife's advice
Men can get so sick so fast; and lose and keep the weight off. Women seem to always add a few extra pounds once they get well (in my humble opinion)
True, Nef. :(
agreed. Life would be so easy if they could follow directions! :-)
probably why male babies are 52% of the birth statistics. They are not as tough as females.
Follow directions?? They won't even ask for directions most of the time! LOL
Of course, I'm now living with 3 generations of men none of whom listen
It is something to do with losing control
Good thing you've got us to talk to then, Nef! LOL
LOL!
((jacula))
Hello ((nef)) and ((jaxx)
Hi Jilly. How are you?
Hi Jillyjill. Did I spot something about it being your birthday recently?
Sorta like you...surviving
Oh Jacula...yes, did not like to see the number 56!
Belated happies, Jillyjill. You didn't like to see 56? How do you think I felt about seeing 57 on 22nd of last month? :)
JIlly, I've lived by the phiolsophy of "one day at a time" for many years; (sometimes it's one second at a time though…)
LOL, Jilly! That isn't a horrid number
Or one foot in front of the other...
My husband has DISH where the soft tissue becomes calcified. he has recently had an op for a torn cartilage in his left knee. The doc said no driving for 6-8 weeks and it is taking me all my time, after less than 3, to keep him out of that car.
LOL jacula...bout like I will next year?
Nef - I know what you me4/5. Life's like that sometimes... unfortunately. x
Jillyjill - Guess so!
Well, Happy birthday you 2! Grandson turns 5 tomorrow and *I* turn Medicare age the day after!
i cant get the ne 9. need more help. i thought negotiator. dont see it.
jaxx - Remove the steering wheel. That'll stop him!
it ends with the picnic pest
mkg, try the last 3 letters are a picnic pest
mkg - You're nearly there. End it with a picnic pest.
he feels a little better so.....
got it. well i never ever heard that word before and doubt it is real. i hate the dictionary for this grid.
ty for clues. i have eg 8 but need other 8 please.
LOL...reminds me of a good friend. Her hubby was a brittle diabetic, had lost both legs and was recovering from a serious infection. Not supposed to drive....she took his prosthesises away!
jaxx, put the keys somewhere he can't find them
mkg - ma8/45
ma8=chemistry alcohol
Wonderful, Jilly!
I could take his crutches and walking sticks away. Knowing how stubborn he is I would probably finding him shuffling down the front steps on his bum!
Jillyjill - LOL. Literally left him legless.
jaxx - No doubt he would! Men are stubborn like that.
Is he still on crutches? Then NO, he shouldn't be driving. Where the heck does he think he has to go anyway?
(Maybe pa4/9 the car 2 blocks away?)
he wants to go pike fishing!
Oh, I can just see him landing a big fish when he can't stand properly yet! *Rolls eyes*
Ironic, that was my friend's husbands passion..darn fishermen!
There's the rub - I don't drive. A long story that involves him taking the wheel off me when I was learning to drive
(Good thing welki isn't here to hear us!)
Not only that but the place he wants to fish is 100 miles away and in the country with all rough ground
jaxx - He needs his brain checking! LOL
phone...brb
I agree with Jac on the brain exam!
But would he take any notice if the doc declared he hasn't got one?
Probably not, jaxx!
so the struggle to inject common sense goes on. eh?
Yup!
Sorry, need to go for a bit; be back in 20 minutes or so
I have slowed down so much on the word finds - and not just because I have been chatting - that I am beginning to feel like giving up tonight
NAIN
'Bye Nef.
OOPS SORRY! and hi... (blushes)
jaxx - just do as much as is comfortable. It's not a competition. xx
Hi Enomis.
I was trying to be quiet... guess it didn't work. :)
Enomis, at least it wasn't a grid word or a rude word that you shouted. :D
true!
Hi, Enomis. Quite an entrance for someone trying to be quiet. lol
Hi enomis!
How is everybody?
We're chatting and Babbling, and talking about men.
We have just put the world to rights on the male sex
ooooohhhhh.... I have to go back to the chat and get up to speed!
2 words left to find...
1
having a hard time believing there is a 9 letter word in this grid...
FIREWORKS! *~*~*~*
Yeah Jacula!!
Well done, jacula
ne9/66, Enomis.
Thanks folks! x
Can I help anyone before I wander off?
yes! can you clue the9?
Some one who might sort out the terms of a contract, Enomis. Ends not with a rocky outcrop but with a picnic pest.
got it good clue!!! txs
it has taken a long time to perfect that clue!
(late) WooT WooT WooT jacula!!
lol
help with the an7 pls\
hello all, back to finish. 67 left
hi peri!
Hi peri. xx
Hi, peri
peri - an7.36 - you might need it if you get a snake bite or a bee sting.
Hi peri!
tyty,, Jilly
jaxx - LOL. Yes, the ne9 did take a long time to perfect.
you could say it took a lot of ne********
You could, jaxx! :)
Would you believe that the last word I found was a simple ta4/4 (open pastry case with fruit in it or a loose woman)? *Sighs*
I don't mean the loose woman was in the pastry, btw. :)
haha
I have problems seeing the word tree whenever it is in a grid
thx jacula...missed that one myself!
ty jacula
They can be in a cake though.
or in a pickle?
They ca, jaxx. LOL
I never see the word 'neice' when it's in the grid.
Funny how we all have blind spots, isn't it?
No, ecomis, that's me. I am always in a pickle. It is senility catching up with me
EEK! I also often spell 'niece' wrongly!
Well, I never read well to the left...
Good morning all :)
Good morning, Lizlin. How are you today?
Hi, Liz
Or the ones I call around sqaure, where the word wraps around itself
Hello lizzlin!!
Fine thanks - but cold! Autumn has finally hit here! Not cold temps by your standards though!
Happy belated birthday, Jilly. Saw that when I first looked at babble, when I woke up!
Judging by today's weather Autumn has never left here
Not cold at all by UK or USA standards, Liz! It's Spring here and should be warming up soon. Should being the operative word...
Maybe you'll jump straight to summer without spring! Hope it warms up before we get there!
I felt sorry for all those folk in Padstow doing the 'obby 'oss in all that rain
To the UK, Liz? Make sure to bring a brolley and some wellies. :)
jaxx - are you in Cornwall, UK?
and a thick coat
Always do, Jac! And waterproof trousers and jacket! Walked the N Devon coast path last time and got soaked!
No, Jacula, in Devon
Don't forget, I'm from the UK, so know what to expect.
jaxx - We'd better shut up. We'll put the poor woman off coming!
Liz - Maybe you'll bring a heatwave with you?
No you won't - family and friends to see!
The past twelve months have been exceptional even for the UK. I am not sure we are even going to get a summer this year
I'll try to bring some of our clear winter skies with us! Our winter temperatures are pretty much UK summer ones!
Love Devon, jaxx. We go to the place with the exclamation mark (North Devon) every year and spend every other Xmas there.
Also love the SW peninsular.
Do you know Teignmouth?
I have been to Teignmouth, jaxx, but don't know it well.
Afraid not - we went to Devon a lot when i was a kid but last time (my first time back as an adult) we were in N Devon.
It's some years since I was last in South Devon.
I think S Devon is our plan for next time we come to England.
The Government are doing their best to spoil it by building houses willy nilly whereever there is a green space.
hello, how is the grid today?
If you get a chance go to the South Hams
Hah! Governments everywhere do that. There's a beautiful river not too far from here and they're doing the same thing.
jaxx - The folk in W/Ho! feel the same, especially when they're arty farty luxury flats out of the price range of youngsters who might want to stay where they grew up.
Hi harp.
Hi harp.
hello harp...beautiful day wasn't it!?
The last time I protested anything was in the 1970s when they wanted to build a breakwater hundreds of yards out to sea but I have been militant over the new schemes for Teignmouth.
jaxx - Did you know that Michael Jackson was going to buy a house in Appledore at one time? I was horrified, thinking of the gawpers it would bring. Luckily, he didn't in the end.
I didn't know that, Jacula. What a horrible thought.
Glad he didn't. It's a lovely town.
jaxx - What do you think of all these wind turbines popping up all over the place. The Atlantic Array (as it was poetically called) has been shelved for now. Thank God!
help with the na6 pls
yes it is/was, jilly
nbt
na6/18 someone who takes care of your children
peri - na6 - think Mary Poppins' job.
I was having a similar conversation with Worzel who hails from Exeter. Lovely little towns and villages are being swamped by houses that all look the same so you don't know which place you are in at any one time.
duh, tyty
is the 9 a compound word?
ca 6/24 - the first, pls.
No, it's not Harp
We have one solitary wind turbine on Haldon Moor and when we had the gales it blew down!
jaxx - the same is happening on all the high streets. Independant shops being squeezed out by chain stores. You could be in any town anywhere in UK and find all the same bloomin' shops.
ca6/24 car part + to allow
LOL re the Haldon Moor wind turbine, jaxx. I went up to Scotland for the first time last year and was sad to see the things marring the views on hills up there.
Thanks, Mary
Teignmouth is awash with Charity shops and coffee shops
It's not even proven that they're that effective!
Try Taunton, jacula, they seem to have staved off a lot of the chain stores.
is ne 9 a compound word?
We have friends, who live in Taunton - they love it there.
jaxx - charity shops abound where empty shops are rented short term because the businesses original in them failed or couldn't afford the rocketing rents. In the high street in our small village we have 7 charity shops and 13 food outlets at last count.
Go to Cornwall if you want wind farms. Field after field full of them. The new craze is solar panels and around Tiverton they seem the device of the day.
harp - no ne9 is not a compound word. See my clue from earlier.
ok thanks jac
jaxx - used to visit a friend in Saltash when we were down in North Devon, not too far to go, but we've lost touch recently, so we haven't been over the border lately.
They don't seem very temporary in Teignmouth. Some of the Charity shops have been in the same place for decdes
decades, even
jaxx - some of our charity shops have been there for decades, too, but there has been a rash of new ones in recent times. £1 shops are the other thing that spring up in empty shops.
The last time I was in Saltash it seemed to be nothing but roadworks
nbt nbs
good evening all - jacula - when did you clue the NE 9
I don't think Saltash, from what I've seen of it, is one of the beauty spots, jaxx. LOL
Hi wvteach.
wtg harp!
ne 9 - person who sorts out deals between 2 or more parties.
Back again. Sorry for rushing off so fast;
ne9/66 - Some one who might sort out the terms of a contract. Ends not with a rocky outcrop but with a picnic pest.
I am going to love you and leave you good folks. Despite going to sleep when I read my grandson his bedtime story, I am still weary. Jac, if you get over the border any time before we need passports to go to Cornwall, let me know and we can meet up somewhere in the middle. Night all. tc
HI again, Nef.
wtg, harp!
Sleep well Jaxx
Niters jaxx...sweet sleeps!
Will do, jaxx! Sweet dreams. x
niters, jaxx
wanna should be a word! LOL
I just got the right column A for NBT (and have NBS already); but I was entering all sorts of words for that A and now I can't tell which word it was! (I hate when I do that)
Yay nef!!
It's one which takes a Latin pl, Nef!
<---!!!FW!!
Thanks, Liz. I always like to know which letter words come from in the grid; for some reason I like to pick out a letter and try to do all the words from that letter (so I sort out where all the N words are in this grid)
YAY, JIlly!!! WTG!!!
Well done, Jilly!
Congrats, Jilly - 5 left here!
Go, Liz! You can do it!

Everyone finished now? I was just off on FB and also talking to my son. We were talking about revolting words and posted some. Don't look before you eat if you're a Facebook friend of mine. LOL
Help with am7 please?
JeeWhiz - am7/32 sounds a bit like senile dem****.
am7/32 does mean 'imbecility'.
I'm still working on the grid, Jac. But I'm also watching a "This Old House program on handicapped renovations, so not "working hard.
Thanks Jacula
y/w JeeWhiz.
I'm off now. See you again soon. Happy Babbling all. x
I'm finding that I make up a lot of words that the dictionary and the grid don't like. These "words" just sound so -- real to me.
Good night, Jac. Sleep well!
