hi jb
hi mel
well, it is a gazillion o'clock here, so I shall to bed. Have a great day/night, all!
hope to see you tomorrow
hi VMD. Insonia brings me, hopefully not for long.
:) nice to see you, if only for a bit
Greetings Friends
tx. My son is going thru another rough patch. Staying with his dad, just a mile away. At least my ex and I are talking. Son is restless and not pleasant to be around, alas.
Hi pug! Cute icon!
hiya puggy-wuggy!
so sorry, mel, I know that must be really tough for you.
Hi Dee and Melon :)
thanks Dee--was just going to ask Melon how your son was doing
he 7 x 2
It wears on me. His kindness and sense of humor are not so apparent these days. He's very needy. I need to call his case manager and see what programs might help him.
and thanks for thinking of us.
Sounds like he does ne4 that kind of support / encouragement.
case manager?
he 7 x 3
sorry things are so tough for you Melon--how are you? Last we talked you were not feeling well and Hi Ru
I'm doing great physically. My replaced hip feels ten years younger than the rest of me :D
Ru, my son has mental health issues. The case manager's job is basically one-stop shopping to match him with programs and services.
thats good! Happy for you
oh.. ok.. got it
congrats on the hip, mel!
nice your ex is nearby to help and give you a break
Alsom I'm practicing for a musicale our synagogue puts on. I'm learning a few piano solos, and accompanying an oboist. All in all about 20 minutes of music to learn. Enjoying practicing.
well that kind of helps take your mind off of things for a short time anyway
For once, ruru. This is the first time in years he's been civil to me. Both my daughter and my ex now understand what I'd been through over the last few years. What's sad is that my son's symptoms came on rather suddenly around age 20, just as he had seemed to be doing well. This is not uncommon. Early 20s is a vulnerable time.
pug, music is my #1 therapy.
Love that you will get to play in the musicale! The timing of that is perfect!
Thanks, VMD re: hip. That operation is a miracle. I'm happiest for the simplest thing—that I go to bed not in pain, and wake up not in pain. Prior to the operation this was not true.
If any of the musicale is recorded, I will mos def post.
Fabulous!! I would love to hear it!
that would be nice, Melon
Some day I think I will be needing a left hip replacement; just starting to have some twinges... hope it is later, rather than sooner, but it is really nice to hear how well you are doing.
you'll have to time it when lickety is around dee :D
The newer antero-lateral and anterior approaches are muscle-sparing with a much faster recovery time and fewer restrictions. My hip was bone-on-bone arthritic. Good news is the other hip is fine.
I hope it is many years off, ru. I think my lower spine will be the first issue to handle.
Fantastic, mel. Surprised both were not affected.
do they have back replacements? I need one of those-lol
I definitely believe in surgery as a last resort. LOL, pug., maybe someday. We live in the orthopaedic capital of the world, so unless Obamacare destroys healthcare completely with all of the taxations on orthopedic products, hopefully, the companies will continue to develop amazing products to help us as we age.
The newer hips were developed in our town :)
I had a previously un diagnosed dysplasia of R hip, which aggravated the arthritis. The replacement corrects that. As a kid, I used to be able to pop that hip out of its socket which other kids thought was hilarious. I guess I never showed that neat trick to any grown up.
hipsofacto?
Anyway, at my follo-up appointment, they took x-rays of both hips and I asked the surgeon how my left hip looked. He showed me the nice layer of cartilage on that joint, so no worries (:
one of my knees is really arthritic
lol, ru! Really interesting, mel. You could have charged $ for tickets :)
I am stuck, stuck... hate to go to lickety with 74 left.
I hate getting older
hipsterical, ru. Sorry about your knee. Funny thing is I had knee pain, too, which was immediately relieved by the hip replacement. Referred pain is a weird thing.
my hubbies knees are like that ru; he babies them, hoping he can avoid replacements for awhile. Fortunately right now he isn't dealing with pain like you are.
Getting old is not for sissies. All I want is to be able to walk, and keep my own teeth. That's my futile bargain with God.
ruru, I thought you were 20!
its all those years of begging I guess :D
jeez dee. I'm stuck at 93
not 93 years, ru?
teehee
nbt,nbs at last!
I'll never make it to 90.. that's for sure
67...
why? someone gunning for you Ru-lol
someone will kill me here by then.. think of all the bad puns that will push them over the edge
yessssssssssss!
Hi hoot--been awhile
*thanks for the loving support hoot LOL*
hehehehehe!!!
* note to self* stay out of Target Stores in Hoot's home town
why Target???
they allow people to bring in guns into their stores
*mop up on aisle three!!!*
Oh! - Well not yet here....I think
could Target go any further to damage their reputation after the xmas fiasco
I keep telling the morons that if they start shooting during oh say a bank robbery, they will be killed too!
I don't know that Target allows it so much as they've been targeted. So to speak.
I still shop at my local Target. It's two blocks away, and it's a nice store.
What has Target done now?
you didn't read about it in the papers hoot?
they closed all of our target stores some years ago around here
Target hasn't done anything. There's open-carry firearms types who tote their rods in Target stores.
It's been kinda crazy around here!...Know about the credit cards.
tote their rods?
That was just for you, ruru.
:D
Oh that story. I don't know if they tried it around here
usually guns with big guns ain't packin' if you know what I mean
guys with big guns
Tell them that!
<---hoot is really sick of my puns
Y E S !
Please understan...When I joined the SCA, my very first event, they had a punning contest!

Have I told you how sick of owls I am lately :D
Constant puns now send me screaming into the night!
*just kidding
oh.. i'm not constant :D
thats 6 hours
Yes you are....I don't think you can ever not use a pun!
I will do my best to behave tonight then
And The only owls you see are my icons.
They don't speak.
AW.
there are other owl people
If you came to my house, you run out screaming!
Hi Peach

Good morning ms pugs ((hugs)) like I said 2 u in my email I may not be on long this morning as the storms have just started to kick in here, so when it gets closer I may go offline xx
Hiya Dee hun xx

If I don't get to talk to Mum can someone give her my love please? xx
stay safe worz
nite Dee
sure will Wor
Sweet dreams, Dee.
ttfn poofing with hugs!
Oooooo sounds like it's gonna be a cracker of a storm this one! It's just starting in the distance but it's gone as black as me bum outside and it's rumbling like mad (the storm, not me bum lol)
nn Dee take care x
sure sounds like you are in for it Wor--we got storms coming in tonight and tomorrow
Typical British summer though - one day of hot weather then a storm
taking a break to say hello friends. cooee and g'day from me
Morning Mum how are you and Dad? xx
hope my email made sense yesterday--with those meds and my back hurting I could hardly think- Wor-lol
hugs and hi Rose
Yea you're email was clear and understandable lol xx
you feeling any better Rose
thank goodness-lol
both of us just plain tired. don's migraine eventuated, and he was throwing up yesterday. me, i don't know what's happening. i think i have caught pugs' blues.
oh and thanks Wor for the imfo I asked
((hugs)) to Mum and hoping it's not me that's upset you xx
oh no Rose--so sorry--want to cry and tell us
lol, how could you, mate. no, it's workcover insurance people. they are saying that because of my fibromyalgia they don't think they have to cover my injury. i am definitely on the way to a lawyer now.
Cheeky buggers - I hate insurance companies, always trying to find a way out of their responsibilities
they didnt say that! No wonder you are blue Rose--its one thing then another
i simply cannot do anything for more than 45 minutes max. then my hips start to ache, and my back muscles spasm.
Hi all :)
and dont let them push you Rose
Sorry to read that about work cover, Rose :(
Howdy Liz, hugs
which is fibromyalgia....but it was un5 control before i fell, and it has definitely got worse since the surgery. i think i am going to have to sue, and get a payout.
ok I'll be back in a bit - hopefully - storms kicking in and me dog's going up the wall so I'm off to try and keep him calm. Take care y'all and have fun and Mum I hope you are feeling brighter soon and glad Dad's head is better. Love & hugs folks xx *poof*
oh, liz, dear. lovely to see you. how are things going for you, hun?
I would to Rose after trying to pull this crap on you
be safe Wor
All's good here, thanks but becomes less good when I read about all the rubbish you're putting up with.
Have a good day, worz :)
oh, and i sent that message to eldest son, congratulating him on the imminent birth of his daughter. that was 36 hours ago. haven't heard boo from the b****r.
Problems, perhaps?
ah, liz, i'm just letting off steam...if i thought my news was going to bring people down i wouldn't share.please don't be sad on my account. just a little sympathy and a cuppa will suffice. ;-P
all this worrying is not going to help you Rose---try to calm down and breath--loving hugs
No, I meant it in terms of sympathy - lots of it.
Rose you listen all the time to my woes, its the least I can do to listen to yours--so go on and vent
liz, this is the son who divorced me 15 years ago. and he is saying how upset he is because i haven't acknowledged to him about his soon-to-be- born child.
thanx dearest pugs, and liz. i knew you would un5stand.
Grrr! That was a really lovely thing of you to do Rose, to send the congrats. Oh and the grrrr was at him, not you!
is this not the same son thats dont want you to be yourself and only wants you to be happy-go-lucky all the time
the news of this grandchild is like telling me john smith, over the other side of town is expecting a baby. i really don't care any more. i have grieved and wept for him. now it's time for me to move forward.
yes pugs, the one and the same
That's a good attitude but I still think it was lovely of you to wish him congrats, considering the circumstances.
I think you have done as much as you can there and letting go maybe the only medicine for you to do Rose as sad as it is
well, it was don's idea. he is so wise. he said if there was a negative response to just ignore it. so i am...i consider no acknowledgement as negative. i have held my hand out yet again, and it has been bitten. no more!!
His problem - doesn't matter whose idea but good for Don :)
sooo, which one of you lovely people are gonna come over here and make my bed for me? it's clean sheets day.
my thinking is that they or he should be supporting you a bit through all you have been through--thats just my thought on it
fly me over and I will-lol
Is it warmer there than here??? No! Then I'm afraid not ;)
I done mine yesterday
Same here!
yeah, well, pugs. my mother always said, sharper than a serpent's tooth it is to have a thankless child.
washed all the bed clothes and hung them out in the sunshine and they smelt so good
btw Rose - I saw your QI comments from yesterday. We saw that last night. So funny. And yes, I'm afraid I knew 7 sheep!
well I say what goes around comes around sooner or later
May I please have a clue for sc8-45? Thankns
Think of a cinema, Peach - the person who shows the movie.
He just may get a taste of his own medicine Rose when his children grows up and lets see how he f5 about that then
I agree Pugs - they say, what goes around, comes around.
sc8, sc + **roy brown, the meannest kid in town + my name. then past tense for sc9
Thanks Liz.....my bad....I should have said sc8-45 the 1st.....sorry.
pick me, pick me..peach
np, Peach - I'm now looking at the other clue!
Thanks, Rose :)
hello, all, and tx for the great clues! :-)
Hi Une :)
Love the pic of Lincoln
:-D
I had a friend I showed horses with and her horse's reg. name was Pick me Please-lol
Hi Une
lol
great name!
pretty lab, Une
*giggle* pugs. and g'day une
he was gorgeous . . .
am transporting a young lab girl today . . . Lady Mariam :-)
Love labs
I had a lab like that as a kid named Johnny and dad gave him away and he came all the way back home and I then got to keep him-lol
they are smart and loving dogs
oh, wow, pug
Just like The Incredible Journey, pugs.
That film always makes me cry
our old neighbors had two red or chocolate labs
just about Liz-lol
labs are sooo sweet . . . and gentle . . . and affectionate
Have come back for a little bit - lull in the storm and the dog is quiet again
My bro had a choccy lab - she died in December. She was pretty old though. She used to support me when I went downstairs, when I stayed there recovering after surgery.
they are and great family pets too and good with kids
aawwww, liz
glad you made it through Wor and welcome back
She would wait outside my room in the morning - soooo cute.
wb, worzel
ty mum xx
ty pug xx
how nice Liz
did i ever tell you about my kelpie/lab cross i got from the RSPCA?
Nooooo - do please.
not that I recall Rose
glad your dog's calmed down, worzel -- one of mine is sooo scared of thunder and lightning
he grew to 4' at the shoulder, and could stretch to the top of an 8' door. he was a black shepherd, or groenendahl(sp)
stats for the other 9s pls?
Biiiiig!
good grief, rose!
oh a big dog!
just a little case of mistaken identity, methinks
Une my dog is demented, I swear. Any little noise and he goes off like a firework. Trouble is he don't shut up for half an hour!
aw, worzel
te9, follows in te string of te 4, 6, 8, 9, 7, 5
what kind do you have Wor
he's a west highland terrier
Thanks, hadn't plural-ed the the 8
thats common for terriers to be yappers
it was hysterical. i also had a dingo-cross who was much smaller. strangers would be eying him off, and she would duck behind them and bite their heels.
cross with what Rose
I've always owned dogs, but never had one that moans and grumbles as much as this one. Di makes me laugh 'cos it's her dog, really (she got him b4 I came here) but whenever he's naughty or annoying she says "Well he's your dog!" - dunno if she's trying to palm him off on me or just saying that he's naughty like me! The latter, I suspect lmao
uh-oh, worzel, i have been told that those a the most stubborn, obstinate, ornery little so-and-so's that God ever created.
Mum you ain't wrong there!
pugs, she was dingo/staffy terrier cross. and we think a bit of doberman thrown in as well.
wow -- what a combo! LOL
some years ago in our newspaper someone placed a add in it for a lost cat and said it came to the sound of a can opener--I havent ever forgotten that--I thought it was funny-lol
cute! :-)
smart as, une. you only had to tell her once, and she would cotton on so fast. where the black shepherd, well she ran rings around him. the number of times she tricked him, was amazing.
Must've given you a lot of smiles watching them.
absolutely. we all used to laugh so hard. and she would sit there with her doggy smile, loving it, and he would be running around as if to say, what happened, did i miss something?
Who me look on its face?
yeah, that one
it was so funny
:-D
Can imagine.
Mum can I ask a question?
last night I brought home a treat for each of the dogs and Annapooh was behind me with heres and after a bit I turned around and she had two---she had stollen poor Beulah's(the great dane) and Beulah was afraid to come pass her but was giving me the saddest look--so had to get hers and put her outdoors to enjoy-lol
we had polished wood floors. she would nip him and race down the steps and hide behind the pantry in the kitchen. as he went by, she would dart out and nip him again. his back feet would overtake his front feet in his effort to stop and get back at her.
go ahead, worzel
Mum a certain you-know-who has been very quiet for a couple weeks. I know you said there were a couple new names to be aware of but I haven't seen them. Has it all died down now?
not sure, worzel. they were on the other night. but they have certainly left me alone. strange that!!
morning :)
Well, I'm really glad they're leaving you alone.
ok that's cool. Well, apart from that email I got (which everybody got lol) I've not had any more trouble so let's hope it's all gone away xx
hi, sarah :-)
Good morning sarah xx
I havent seen no new names either but sometimes Iam blind to that
Hi Sarah :)
Hi sarah
uh-oh, sarah. i am so ashamed...i owe you a loooong email. i really will make an effort over the next few days, sweetie.
omg I have just seen a life-size chess board on ebay! I want! I want!!!
it ok rose am going send you one monday when girlies are at school
you play chess Wor?
and where are you going to put it, worzel? hmmmm??
in the garden Rose-lol
oh pugs you'd laugh. I had never played chess and then about 10 years ago my ex-wife, an expert in chess, showed me how to play one night. I beat her in the first game in about 5 minutes and nobody's ever beaten me since. To be fair though it's the only game I am able to win lol. As for where I'd put it - trust me, I'd find space!!!
I like chess but not real good at it for no one around here plays it---and I like checkers too got a blue ribbon on that game in school
good for you Wor---got to have pretty good smarts to win like that in that game
Talking of not being able to win, dunno if checkers is the same as draughts but I sooo cannot win at draughts! Can't win at dominoes, either. Mind you, I am good at a card game called Bezique. Any of you ever heard of that?
not I
Have heard of it but not played it.
Trouble with Bezique is once you've learnt to play it it is so addictive. I've sat and played it for 8 hours straight before now
is that game on the computer Wor
card game, I thought.
Ooops! Worz said that! Ignore that comment!
I was just wondering if they told or showed how to play it on the computer
I don't think there is a computerised game of it pugs. It was originally a Russian invented game. It's a 2-player card game. A lot of people give up on it because they think the instructions are too difficult but they're no tougher than poker - actually it's easier than poker. It's also difficult to find a Bezique game nowadays as they don't make it anymore, but you can find them quite easily on ebay
I realised that after i hit enter!
okay, seeing as none of you are beating down my door to remake my bed for me, i had best go and do it myself....;-P
Taking a break - hugs to all :)
hugs Liz
They do probably show you how to play somewhere online, but you have to actually have a proper Bezique game because you need 2 packs of cards and you only use the 7,8,9,10,jack q k and ace
me too, liz -- taking pups out to pee -- back in a bit :-)
and marker cards
hurry back Rose
bye Une
Mum don't go make your bed if you're gonna make it untidy again later! (giggles)
I will check it out Wor
Be careful though Pugs - it's VERY addictive lol
okay, will take the warning Wor-lol You and Di got big plans for your week end
Not really. I'm going to make some bread in a minute though - ooooo the excitement!! We don't need plans though, just each other xx
your cinn. bread?
Not today just a normal loaf. I love the smell and taste of proper bread
what is your time different from ours Wor--its almost 4:30 am saturday morn here
it's almost 9.30am saturday morning here. How comes funder isn't allowed?
oh your time is close to Sprite's then
Yes - France and UK are an hour apart for 6 months, and then when the clocks change I believe we are on the same time for 6 months
are yours and Sprite's seasons the same too
hi all! can I get a nudge for the i ?
Hi Rbud-long time no see--how are you
I dont have it but Rose should be back in a few
oh, a little tired, but okay. had a bad few days, Hubby in the hospital, but he's out and doing okay now.
Our seasons are the same, but depending on Sprites location the weather in the summer is probably different there. Northern France has the same weather as us, usually, but Southern France generally has warmer weather than the UK. Mind you, the UK being a small-ish island our weather can be extremely bizarre. It can be 80 degrees in the South of the UK and 500 miles North it can be 40 degrees. Such a weird country
Good morning rbud xx
brb
hope it wasent anything too awful bad rbud with your hubby
well - it could have been. he had a mild heart attack, I guess. Tachycardia - superfast heart rate, and I drove him to the ER. no point in waiting around for our "first responders" in this little town, I just went.
back. rbud. is8, is + vowel + 3 letter word meaning before + not south west. then plural for is9
Iam glad all worked out well Rbud
and hope you find time to get re6 up
they've got him on something that's supposed to help with both his heart and his slightly high blood pressure, but are not sure what caused it.
good for you rbud. and i am so glad he has pulled through, again.
welcome back Rose
thanx, hun. bed all made. just need a shower, and dinner.
thanks for the help, got it! :)
yay, rbud. well done, you
feeling any better Rose
Good morning all, I have just read the back chog about playing chess. My 14 year old grandson has been banned from the chess club at school as nobody including the teachers has ever managed to beat him. Oh by the way can I have a clue for the O in the 5th column please
Hi Jenny--that stinks and unfair i think
I have oh4, a past tense.
I agree puglet, but when he was 11 and beating 17 amd 18 year olds they did not like it!!
thanks rbud I now have nbt and nbs and almost half way
you would think the school would be proud of him and promote his skills
yw! :)
yes, pugs, i am feeling better. and jenny, what were they thinking?? surely it's a feather in the school's cap to have such a whiz of a chess player. more kudos to your grandson!!
Iam glad Rose--maybe you will rest better tonight
Jiving...oo 5/10 for that O
He has Asbergers and wouldn't be able to realise that people don't like to loose and would be quite vocal about their failings and I think that is the trouble.
am hoping so, dear. i find i usually get a reasonable night after a really bad one. i might just up the ante on the pain meds tonight.
thank you dizgrannie
might be a good ideal Rose
*quiet chuckle* jenny, i know what you mean! my step-son has aspergers. he simply cannot un5stand why other people get so vocally angry with him for being better than them at something.
Oh jiving. can sooo relate.....have a 11yr old g/son with as my mum calls is 'alphabet syndrome'
Iam getting off right now, Carol and her bunch are down for the week end and I got four little kids wanting me to take them wading today--so got to do what I need to this morning---love and hugs
love and hugs, pugs. enjoy your day. hope your new meds continue to give you the relief you need.
Adam is a whiz at maths and anything that is logical, but feelings are a trial. My daughter has a very hard life because she has Adam, a 12 year old daughter who is hormonal and her husband is partially sighted (and probably has aspergers too)
oh, dear, jenny. my heart goes out to her, dear. what a busy life she must live!!
Haven't studied it, but I find most boys with ADDHD or Aspergers have Dads with the same condition
It seems that the Dad's parents tried to sweep it away.
the jury's still out on that one, diz. if a parent doesn't obviously exhibit the signs, then there is a good chance both parents have a recessive gene of the disorder.
true Rose, my dtr was a hypo kiddo, her son is ADDHD/OCC and hus Dad can't sit still for 5 mins....but nothing wrong with him OR HIS KID
hIs**
for instance, my father had red/green colour blindness, i don't. but i carry the gene recessively. my ex definitely was not colour-blind. but my third son is monochromic colour-blind. which means two things. his father carried the red/green colour-blindness gene recessively, and that my son only sees the world in shads of white and black and greys
*shades*
diz, do you mean ODD?
sorry OCD
Occupational Compulsive Disorder
oh, my son had obsessive defiant disorder.
he also had ADHD, which made life very interesting.
good morning all
g'day, sprite. hugs, kisses and all my dear.
someone who po6/27 must be a po4/6er....surely???
hi rose *hug* That is a pretty rare thing, monochromatic colourblindness.
I agree, rolin. I tried it 3 times to make sure enable was being a brat again.
jumping in and dout, that's the way a dog sees, fromwhat I read
{{love to everybody}}
*woof*
love to you, ruby
hello ruby
I have to go with Mr. Nasty. |I|'m trying hard to keep the peace, but it gets harder and harder
poor ruby. And poor husband too.
you still around, rose?
((Sprite))
hi zooz! *hugs* Are things settling a bit after the service now?
hey ya zooz, and yes sprite. watching 'gravity' sorry got distracred...* giggle *
lol, squirrelly rose :)
All is OK so far :-)
What's on your mind, Sprite?
am glad, zooz. Has been a challenging time for you all.
Hello, ((Rose))
{{hugs}} my dear friend.
my mind? Babble, mostly, and my babble friends, lol.
How are you keeping both of you? hope you are all well?
oh, rose, my son's UNESPO project ended last! But he is not sad about it. He made a truckload of new friends and has some vacation addresses over the whole world.
I am fine, thanks zooz. *hug* How about yourself?
wow, sprite. i bet he is so high!! lol
Aww well I am glad he enjoyed it, Sprite, I could not get up and do a talk good on him..And making friends too! even better.
zooz, i'm okay, thanx. just concentrate on your good self.
lol no he wasn't high, he was busted. They had to get up at 6, be in the bus at 7 am, and of course they didn't go to sleep early.
lolol, of course not, teen boys asleep early...never gonna happen.
Oh gosh he will need plenty of sleep then lol
yes, he is very good and relaxed about things like that. And he took a couple of Ukrainers on a tour through Amsterdam. They had so much fun.
Well he would if he is anything like me..I like my sleep.
me too, zooz. But you know teenagers... social gatherings are so much more important than sleep, lol.
They could do an exchange week or something?
*Sees sprites eyes nearly pop out..not in this house* lol
yes they could. For now, they have asked him to come to them, in exchange for his efforts during the UNESPO week. He took them to a lot of places and helped them out. He likes them very much.
hm no, not in this house I am afraid, it is a small house.
I think that is wonderful..nice to make friends from different places. Makes you more cultured I feel.
Same here, Sprite, Could not swing a rat by its tail in my one.
yeah, he did notice some differences in culture. But he also noticed how much we all have in common and that is even more important, maybe.
Very true.
I think rose is a lo4 cause today, lol
Bless her.She could be eating her dinner whilst watching the TV program.
looking at gravity squirrels, no doubt
lol
Good morning, I'm up early on a Saturday doing laundry.
good morning sukee, how virtuous!
Hello, Sukee :-)
I love big grids :)
me too. Especially that first phase in which you find words quicker than you can type them
YEs :)
Me too! I want one about 900+
that would be awesome, especially on a weekend day, zooz. I remember the 744 one, it was a really lovely day on babble.
I missed that one :-(
april 21, 2012
brb, time to put laundry in the dryer
nice going, sukee
I was in the middle of my breakdown so was not babbling then :-(
I bet it was a really high points total.
no indeed, dear zooz *hugs* Not in the mood back then. And not yet realising how much better you would be feeling in 2 years time.
13761 points
Very true, Sprite, I have been feeling so much better..well still am just had a dip which is understandable.
Wow very nice!
yes, of course, that is not a breakdown or a depression, that is mourning. Although it is sad and very painful, it is also healthy.
Just wish I could get rid of my nightmares I have..although I have not been having them as often as of a year ago..so that is good.
Have your declined at all, Sprite?
having less is at least progress. But yes, nightmares are really awful.
no not really. They seem to come in waves. I think they are triggered by something like too much noise, or a scare, or seeing something bad on television in the news. Which is why I don't read papers and don't watch the news. But last night I had to perform for an audience without being prepared, and I was stranded somewhere without money for bus or train. As far as my nightmares go, that is very benign.
i give up, i really don't have enough eyes for this. this film is riveting. will try and concentrate on you.
((Sprite)) when having them you will now remember that I have put a few euro notes in the bottom of your shoe..so you will never have that one again :-)
lol rose. Go watch the movie and enjoy. We will be here tomorrow, probably
roflol, good one, zooz!
Watch your film, Rose :-)
thanx you lovely people. see you tomorrow. xoxox
*hugs* rose, and have a grand time
Toodle pips, Rose!
Is your husband going on any canoe trips this summer, Sprite?
yes, he is planning one at the moment, to go with our daughter, in the south part of our country. He sits with maps and booklets and a noteblock and tries to set up a route :)
Cool so you can then invite your friends over and have a tea party!
lolol indeed
Or one of those naughty ones where you buy certain items.
sister used to do those we call them ann summers..she would go round their house or have the party round hers and sell goods and make money on how commission.
The reason I have to do laundry so badly is because I put it off and have nothing to wear :)
*giggles* I am gonna host one of those. But somewhere in october or november. Summer is not a good time for that.
But she got fed up with doing it in the end but she said it was fun at the time nothing too rude I must add.
roflollll sukee, oh I know, right! When I still lived alone, that happened to me all the time.
Love the smell of fresh laundry especially duvet covers.
yes, I went to one of those about 2 weeks ago, zooz. It was a blast. Laughed so much. And ordered some naughty toys, lol.
My sister made a good bit of money from those and like you say was a good laugh at the same time.
now with two teenagers who sport, one of them a girl that goes through clothes like other people through tissues, and a husband who has work clothes and hobby clothes and normal clothes... I do a load every day, sometimes two, or things become nasty
Wow that is a lot of laundry!
it is! And we don't have a dryer. Everything goes on a clothesline here.
The only think I don't like is I have to go down to the first floor of the apartment
Thank goodness it's only me I have to do laundry for :)
I think that is a good thing..can you imagine how much more that would cost to use a dryer to dry all that.
oh, that is not pleasant, no
oh, true that, zooz. Our energy bill is really lower since the darn thing broke down. But it is a lot of work to keep up with the stream now, grin.
No I can understand that, Sukee, also got to be careful whilst carrying the basket and walking down the stairs too.
imagine how nice it will be to have everything clean again and folded and in your dresser, sukee :)
Yes :) It is always worth it.
and it smells good
I bought this cheap washing powder a while ago and there was no scent when the clothes was dry. Was not pleased...Love a nice summery smell to my clothes.
good morning all- figures we get a nice big grid on a day o cant be home lol. going to try and get nbt/nbs before i have to leave
Hello, Wolvie :-)
lollll... husband came home with dog, dog panting, tongue out. I say, give him fresh water, he looks thirsty. Husband cleans out the (huge) plastic thing our dog uses as a water bowl, fills it. Dog runs out, ignores clean water, starts lapping up water from a moldy pool.
aw poor Wolvie :)
Teehee typical dog mentality.
Terra is truly weird that way. He refuses tap water, unless he doesn't know it is tap water. He prefers filthy water.
lol sprite- so doggie
one of my kitties loves the water that any plant is sitting in- she goes out of her way to go lap at that when i water my plants lol
oh lol, Wolvie. Precious :)
My cat will only drink cold water from the bathroom sink.
I have to pour it into a cup also, not a bowl.
at least it is the sink sukee :D
our old cat only drank from the watering can.
He used to drink out of the toilet but I have a raised seat now and he can't reach it :)
lol, aren't they funny!
oh- lol- that is going to far me thinks- at least for my cats- i am not home enough to give them water like that
lol sukee
Perhaps it is like us some people prefer water with a taste of strawberry or some type of fruits. This is animals way of having a flavoured drink..lol
eww, Sukee, lol
eeeewwww sukee?? lol zooz. flavor indeed
lol @ flavoured water
yup- gave zooz the top ewww for that lol
oh, not the can while watering. From the top of the can, when it was sitting in the sink. It was a metal watering can.
maybe he needed some mineral or something, lol
:D
hahaha good point, Sprite!
one of the things I love about animals. They are so funny. Always something you don't expect.
OK I need 76 more words..going for a break.Nice chatting to you all. Hope to see you all again soon..toodle pips for now.
ttfn zooz
nice going, zooz. Have a lovely day. *hugs*
lol- took me 48 words to get nbt/nbs. need coffee :D
lol still a good job!
:-) gonna be about it for me today too- have to leave in a bit. i wish this was tomorrows grid when i had time for it
who knows, tomorrow's may be 900+ :) Have a lovely day, Wolvie.
eeek! lol- ttfn sprite
fireflies. Bye all, have ablessed day and a peaceful night.
Okay, laundry is out of the dryer and I can think about making breakfast :)
good morning everyone
hi crossy, Wolvie, sukee
Morning
ok, three loads of laundry on, now i can babble:)
Today must be laundry day :)
every day is laundry day:((
:)
with places like wally-mart and target and giant tiger selling t-shirts and golf shirts for 5 dollars, once you factor in the cost of laundry soap, water and electricity, it is almost cleaper to throw the shirts out after wearing them twice:( to heck with that carbon footprint!
Really, 2 loads of laundry cost me $9 today, plus the Tide pods. I see what you mean.
I am at $7.50 so far for three washes, not counting the detergent. It will be another$5.00 for three dryings, so $12.50 not counting the soap
Sounds like you pay the same as I do I only had 3 loads.
2 loads
apartment laundry is the pits:(
It is, I have thought of moving to a building that has insuite washers and dryers. Can't afford it :)
clues for the 9s plz
once in a while, as a treat, I will take the entire works to a commercial landro-mat and do it all at once. Problem is that $60.00
Not there yet :)

of course, the MOST fun part will be sitting next to mr hate and my husband in law with three hours (eyeroll)
boys big moment, just smile and bring booze in your purse for fortification:)
girls
girls*
secondo is a girl
I suggest a stiff drink (or two) before the ceremony. (Or during)
Secondo is such a name that it can go either way when you are guessing, my apologies
hello
oh, it's fine....really, its my bad. I think it should have been seconda the whole time anyway
her real name is fiona, anyway
The term husband in law kind of makes my skin crawl. Mother in laws are bad enough.
yes. well. my husband in law rather makes my skin crawl too. recently he sent an email to my ex brother in law, whom he has never met, absolutely FILLED with lies about me. really slanderous stuff - saying I was bipolar, discussing the financial terms of my divorce, and getting almost all of them wrong. I was FURIOUS. Haven't seen him since.
but today is about fiona, so I will smile, be civil and courteous, and wait for karma to do its job. which it will
My mother would have referred to him as "the other one". As in "will your ex and the other one be there?" It was a term she used for people she thought deserved no name recognition. : D
Does anyone have stats for the R on the THIRD column?
R 2/7
And WOW, what a whack job the other one is. That email sounds like evidence that therapy is in order. Lots of it, for him.
pretty cool
That is as much as I know :)
2/7?
im going the other way - i have to be more than excellent now, to show his behavior in sharper relief
I just listed what the tile stats say, I haven't gotten there yet
Hi, all. From the sublime to the ridiculous eh?
Hi Jaxx, definitely.

5th column i and o stats please?

i should have known lol
oh 4/6
hello babblers
not sure about the other one
It amuses me that everyone with "perceived" mental illness is referred to as bi-polar these days. It's really not the only diagnosis in the book.
hi annie
Good morning/afternoon/evening :)

hi fan, sukee
Morning Annie. Another glorious day for The Right Coast.
Right!! and hello
Last two - sc 8/45 and sc 9/66 any clues please

Thanks for the clues and finished!

tyvm Enomis
can someone tell me what the 8s are i need one more?
Good clue Annie : )
thanks, Molly
TO, I broke a toe in just one place and it was very painful. I can't imagine what having one broken in three places feels like. I hope you got good drugs.
Crossy has broken hisbig toe(s) many times. Dr. just looks at it and says "yup, it is broken" just need some good sandals and lots of booze/drugs for 2-3 weeks
That is why I didn't bother with the doctor when I broke mine. I didn't need to pay someone lots of dollars to tell me what I already knew.
sadly, mine had a open wound and stiches to go with it
Plus, they like to ask you to put your very painful foot in the most contorted positions for x-rays.
plus, we do not pay per visit:). we just pay through the nose at tax time:)
they do indeed
lol, first thing they do is grab it, bend it, and say "does this hurt?"
lol cross
Oh that is true. You should have seen what they did to my son's foot when he dislocated it. I was ready to slug someone.
te9 clue please?
And then, this Doogie Howser doctor wanted to try and "pop it back into position" BEFORE the painkillers kicked in. To which I said "Oh hell no you're not"
te - someone who improves meat
lol, Do you not love it when the Dr. walks in and you are not sure whether to tell him what is wrong , or to give him a lolly-pop and tell the lad to go find his daddy?:)
got it ty alley
xray not painful, went to foot dr vice er, no drugs, just a shoe ( not a boot) for a week
Lol crossy, my doctor is just out of medical school. I think I have clothes older than he is.
I had an Oncologist, I am sure he knew his stuff, but i swear his voice cracked and his face only needed to see a razor once a month
toe was crushed, bones stayed in place, luckily.
he looked at a mole on my chest, and i said" do not worry, Doc, that one has been aro8und longer than you have" :)
You were lucky to get an appointment with a specialist that fast, TO.
ugh, do not say "specialist" I am on the waiting list from hell atm:(
Gotta go for an MRI tomorrow, sent by specialist :)

Trust me, I have no chemistry books. Way too boring for me.
When people began wearing un5/14wear, (round about the Middle Ages) they came in 2 different pieces, and tied at the sides & un5/14neath. Hence 'pairs' of them. Soodles tid-bit of the day, with apologies to Crossy.
me either molly
thanks, phaeton
HIya, Soodle
yw
Hey Annie & all. 😃
hi phae and soodle
hi
*Files that un5 Middle Ages Un5wear Information* Oh, what do you know, I have no file marked like that.
Maybe I will save that tidbit for cocktail party talk. Wait, no, people would back away slowly while looking at me in a funny way.
phew...half way!
I listed and I can see I need to do a lot of pluralizing!!
i have cl 7/32 can i get a clue for the other cl 7 please?
Yes indeed, three S's means lots of plurals
never mind i am going to go eat now will be back
true, but that doesn't mean i'll remember to do it. :)
and now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day. Yoday in keeping with the chog theme, I shall provide a "brief" history of u5wear!
The oldest example of men’s underwear, the loincloth, dates back to the cave man. We know this because in 1991 a leather loincloth was discovered in the Alps along with the remains of Otzi, the iceman, who lived around 3300 B.C. Scientists discovered that Otzi wore a leather loincloth under his woven grass cloak.
Poon
ty, soodle, but give me something i can use:)
Oops. Apologies
Cross, I bow to your superior knowledge of men's smalls. :-)
are the 9s all plurals of 8s?
lol, soodles; I had to google it
The sc is not a pl, Econ
i have sc8 not 9, I,ll look, thanks.
It's related....

oops PB for me!
enom talking horse is mr **
maybe i am giving you the wrong clue. but my sc9 is the past tense of sc 8/45.
Oh dear. I didn't realise that there were 3 SC 8's. The SC8/45 I have is the one which is not pluraled. It's past-tense. Sorry for confusion
its the only sc 8/9
went to the list and realized I don't have the first sc8 - I was trying the past tense on another one!
enom look at 9:23am at what i said
Got it, txs

Hi, car! Arms still sore after re-injuring when setting up new computer....really tired of this. But at least I'm back up and running and have 4 days of work to catch up on this weekend.
yw cyber
((smores)) Long time, no see!
Back to 7?

Bye Cyber!
Awesome! Small steps forward...
aww..what happened Mimi
75 left? i still have 155 left
Slow and steady mlf....
very car lol
Tripped over cat and fell injuring left shoulder and right elbow. Then a few days later cat knocked tumbler of sugared iced tea into my laptop keyboard. People keep asking me if those cats are still alive! The tea was really my fault...know better than to keep liquids close to electronics.
ugh...sorry to hear
The good news is my cardiologist said I can go off meds...hooray!
Wonderful!!!!
*puts on Pussy Riot music for mimi*
Pussy Riot?
Russian Music group mlf
and protest avant garde artists
LOL!
I'm telling you, the supplemental CoQ10 I've been taking has really made a difference in my energy level....and it not only helps the heart and all other organs, it aids in reducing risk for dementia.
phantom: scorpion
<....runs to the store to get some.....
I like the brand from Stop Aging Now because it also has black pepper which increases absorption by 30%. But it is available on Amazon...isn't EVERYTHING?!!
wonderful Mimi, I've been thinking of trying it
I'm sold!
<--I just tell myself I refuse to age
It's on my after I get caught up list ... lol
lol..ruru
Also, I take supplemental magnesium (and several other things including a green drink) and took extra when I injured my arms because it helps muscles and is really good for leg cramps...honest.
that's my strategy too...but...
*thinks the heat has gotten to Mimi*
LOL. I did the same thing as well, ruru, but the mirror keeps telling me it didn't work.
green drinks are awful
I'd rather go suck a lawn
I'm seeing a lot of articles now about CoQ10. Even my cardiologist said it's good I''m taking it.
My brain and body stopped listening to me back in the 80's
:)
True, but you have to mix it with something strong in taste. I use spicy V8 which is also healthy, so it's a win/win.
Mine, too, car! My project now is dropping this extra weight....it's like having a Siamese twin that you HATE!
<-- popping 2 Aleve....
I first learned about green drinks when a friend had terminal cancer and conventional medicine had given up and told her to go to hospice. She stopped all conventional "treatment" and went to a naturopath who put her on the green drink, had her eat fish a lot as well as other things and she improved for about two years and was able to live on her own and have a good quality of life before it eventually did take her. But she got an extra two GOOD years.
Yes, Aleve is wonderful, car....that's what I use as well.
Wow.
I think the Good Captain is fighting me this morning....
I also found a natural antihistamine...Quercetin. It really does work. As you can tell, I've been researching natural remedies and supplements A LOT.
Will also check that one out
the only green drinks I like are margaritas
be very wary of aleve. took it fo years then bleeding ulcer after taking it fo 2 days
I used to not believe in supplements and such either but now that I've had some success with them, I'm really happy I decided to give them a try.
It's on Amazon, too, car. Just assume anything I recommend is on Amazon since it's the only place I shop anymore.
Love that green drink, too, ruru!!
<---getting nowhere with this grid
I am on ranitidine too TO....but thank you for the warning!
Ruru....this is Saturday morning chat...grid is secondary.
Hey...isn't that the tennis player in the grid today?
i crossed my fingers and took 4 coated baby aspiins twice yesteday.
How did it go?
so far, so good, and the pain is much less today so do not need.
*Pushes aside the healthy stuff and puts a pitcher of Margaritas in the PB*
Good
TY Molly
oh hell yes, thatll kill the pain
I don't like margaritas, so may I offer a pitcher of watermelon martinis instead?
finally past the 200 mark...taking a break
I have much better luck with that kind of pain reliever than I do with aspirin or other such things.
Well done Smores!
Car is way into the flavored martini thing of late. : D
later.smores
One more tip before I get to work.....this is an old remedy. Take a tablespoon of cider vinegar twice daily...it aids digestion. I have IBS and it honestly has cut down flareups.
Hi, Molly! How long is the learning curve for Windows 8?!! It's a bit of a challenge.
Oh my God, cider vinegar is the nastiest tasting stuff on the planet.
I love it just straight but you can mix it into something.
hi all, having a G& T while babbling and giving myself a pedicure. not sure how the pedicure will turn out :)
The learning curve is a lot shorter if you do some of the tutorials offered.
Ewwww...yes it is. Tried taking it once and couldn't do it.
Nice Peri!
Car, that stuff smells like what my thermos used to smell like when I left it at school over the weekend.
I know!
thermos...now that is something you don't hear every day.
*thinks that Mimi has been hanging around too many health food stores*
Since the doc I transcribe is off now until the 19th, I'm planning to do one or two tutorials, Molly. It helps that the lady I work for just got it a couple of weeks ago and helps when I'm stuck.
LOL, ruru....haven't actually been in ANY stores. Just doing research and ordering from Amazon.
It's probably reading all those "For Your Health" articles on the internet that are glorified marketing for the products they "suggest".
has anyone seen scrabbler today?
I'm aware of those, Molly, but I get information from many other sources that don't stand to gain monetarily. There is a lot of literature about naturopathic alternatives.
Not me
time for 2nd coat of polish on my toes, bbs
Time to get to work. Good touching base with everyone. Have a good Saturday and hugs all around.
My doctor says the six words she hates to hear the most are, "I read on the internet that..."

I'm going to take a break and rest my eyes...see if that helps.
Have a great day everyone
why are you squinting?

I am not drunk!
My fave is a** dialing, but I've only seen it in movies

Hello Bugs,old bean! (((Hugs2bugs)))
I started this wretched grid about 17 hours ago. In between finding words, i
I just reached half way and need a nap but chores are haunting me. I really should go but.....
I have collected the boy wonder from the airport, got done for speeding, buried a dead cat, cooked a barbeque (unrelated to deceased cat) ironed all the laundry, visited my Dad, and now enjoying a glass of wine.
oh Soodle I got stuck at the cat. I hope it was not one you loved.
but very glad you cleared up any doubt about the barbeque lol
the last re7/32, please?
How much did you get dinged for speeding? I hope it is affordable
Bugs, we have a house cat called Dora. He is the best fed cat in Ireland. Then, there are numerous strays which i ( reluctantly) feed. It was one of them who met their maker this afternoon. Unpleasant, but not traumatic.
sorry Marc
It's my last 'r' and driving me crazy
Glad you are not too distraught then Soodle. I must be off for a bit. Hugs to all Babblers who want one and waves to all Lurkers
Marc, if you do something again, you re** it. If you do it a second time, you re **** it & plural

Finally go it so sorry I was so dense
np.. we all have those words....
Jaxx. I owe you an apology. I vamoosed the other night when you started talking about spooky goings on. I was in bed, in the dark, on my own. I can cope with spooky in daylight, but I knew if I hing around, I'd get freaked. 😳
soodles is the type of girl us guys used to love to take to scary movies on first dates:)
Marc, you have no idea how happy I am you got it. I was tearing my hair out!! :-p
This house is not good for someone unable to cope with spooky. I won't mention it again, promise
Bwah ha ha Crossy. Now I understand why I was popular years ago.
Have you met up with the Aussies, Jaxx?
No, that joy awaits me on Tuesday after the Social Services on Monday. I think I am going to run away!
Pssh! Nobody with pink hair runs away. It's the law!
thanks soodle I just couldn't see it
I am glad I have hair left
I'll take your word for it
You'll be grand, Jaxx.
If my da is any indication i shall have a full head of hair well past 70 years of age:)
I don't think my house has ever been so tidy. I have been busy all day changing bedlinen, towels, teatowels and washing it all. My washing machine is wheezing!
Lol Cross. My Dad is 86. I have more grey in my hair than him. And, Jaxx, no matter what happens, you nd up with a pristine house. Win/win.
'End'
Ashley will arrive tomorrow and all that work will have been for nothing. he thinks the floor is the place for all things
*Gets a night light for Soodle*
if it is stuff he desires and uses, pick it off the florr and lock it in a closet. When he wants it back, make him clean a part of the house in ransom.
I never believed in spooky goings on until we moved here
floor
he has already 'lost' the X Box because he threw the controller across the room in a fit of paddy.
hup. Hit him where it hurts:)
yup*
A fit of Paddy?
Sorry Jaxx, is Ashley your son?
It is hard to blame him when his grandad does the same. By the end of two days you can't walk across the living room without almost breaking your neck. That is the point where I give in and pick it up.
Ah! A grandson!
le6/18, please?
Ashley is my 8 year old grandson who stays with us from Sunday evening until Friday afternoon.
I would set aside a large lock-up closet then
especially for grandda's stuff:))
Relating to Christian fasting period before Easter Marc
In the only lockable cupboard is my late mother-in-lae's invalid bugghy. Don't ask

paddy, without a capital , is another name for temper, molly.
Thanks for the illumination Molls. Even with the light, I still shrink from spookiness.
Down to 150 left I am going to take a rest and come back to it later?
Okay Soodle, I'm guessing you are one of those people who has never seen The Exorcist.
now, molly, do not give her the heebie-jeebies:) Now, the movie "THe Thing" will scare the skin right off of her! :)
I'm a pretty big chicken shit myself. but talk of spooky things in the chat does not make me run away.
Don't be unkind you two. If soodle doesn't like all things spooky so what. I don't like heights.
Crossy is sorry:(
here, have a puppy out of petty pets:)
We were joking, not being unkind.
You are correct, Molly. I just don't see the point in scaring the bejaysus out of myself watching manufactured scary stuff. There's enough real scary stuff going on in my lifeto be going on with.
can name him Cujo:))))
Soodle obviously has a vivid imagination. It is the Irish in her
Just found rats in the grid
Not a bit of it! I'm merely a lily-livered coward.
'Tis a shame I know nothing about being Irish or having a vivid imagination. : D
Soodle, as I said, I was just joking and I am a chicken shit as well. I steer clear of scary movies for the same reason.
Don't you find obviously scary movies funny? It is the quieter, more subtle ones that do the damage
Oh Lordy, Jaxx. I'd sooner have needles stuck in my eyes than watch a scary movie.
How about the TV?
Soodle, I'm surprised you were so taken with Breaking Bad. That was a very dark, depressing show that I found difficult to watch on more than one occasion.
I haven't seen it. What is it about?
Dark & depressing I can handle. Heck, thats how I grew up! It's the devil stuff that freaks me...,
Ah, the religious aspect
Hey! I'm Irish. The defence rests....
So am I and not so far back either. I am however from orangemen so should I cross myself now?
But, Jaxx, get yourself a Netflix account & watch Breaking Bad. Seriously.
Do you think it is my cup o' tea?
Crossy loves Netflix:)
The evil in people scares me more than a supposed "devil".
I agree, molly, but there are more nice people than evil, thank goodness.
Oh, mudderagawd!!!! Don't tell me I've been chatting with an orangewonan???? Lol rofl!
*Quietly whistles A Nation Once Again*
I am not an orange woman, I am pink and proud of it. Seriously, my mother in the 1920s used to fight on St Patrick's day as a proddy dog against the catlicks
Bwah ha ha Jaxx! (((())))
half my lot were Catholic and the other half Protestant so I am a hybrid! lol
You can chat with the Catholic half and the protestant bit won't listen, promise
Reds
I bred a hybrid lot as well. My ex was Church of England. I'm Catholic. The kids were left to make their own minds up.
Hi, Rollie. No reds here only me with my pink hair.
Sorry, I'm using a new device that I am not used to.
Has anybody checked under the beds?
Love your pink hair!
very democratic, soodle.
check this out, soodles...
http://tinyurl.com/d3ulpw3
There is no room under my bed for anything to hide - too much rubbish under there already
Thanks, Rollie. A statement of growing old disgracefully that I had done when I retired
Under the bed is cool, it is the other places that scary people lurk you might want to beware of.
hi all!
Hiya Sue
hi soodle!
Believe me, molly, all cupboards, under the bed spaces and the loftspace are chock a block with three household's stuff.
Hi, Sue. Just discussing the overcrowded house that I live in
ah. sorry to hear that.
it is in connection with soodle's fear of the dark in relation to spookiness
oh, I see. So if your house is crowded enough there's no place for scary things to hide?
That's the theory
Anyway Soodle, I find real live people of the lie a lot more scary than made up boogeymen and gremlins in the movies.
my house used to be like that (a couple of husbands ago) but it is better now. At least the parts my son hasn't cluttered up.
howdy, zuze:)
suze even
hi crossy!
A couple of husbands ago...I love it.
I have promised myself that i will have a massive clear out but I am fighting a losing battle with my husband who 'rescues' all sorts of things that 'might come in useful one day'
Oh Molly, I whole heartedly agree with you. Right up until I am in bed, on my own, in the dark, and then I start thinking.....
*Wires The Soodle Pit with twinkly white lights and a looped recording of It's A Small World After All*
have something alcoholic as a nightcap and that will help you stop thinking
hi all, my decluttering continues. gave some books to two thrift stores this week , along with a handbag
more books are scheduled to leave next week
I got a new handbag so one had to go
Gasp! I'm welling up. Molly, nail on head! White lights and Small world. Feckit. You know me too well.
Feckit :-)
See, there is comfort in the fact that someone "gets it" : D
Peri, would you like to come over and sort my clutter out?
:-)
Peri, I love giving books away. I only keep a few cherished favorites but I see no sense in hording a lot of books that I will never read again.
Molly, you can join peri as well. I can't throw away books.
I don't throw books away. I donate them or give them to people.
no thanks jaxx I am having enough trouble sorting and giving away stuff that I do not need or want
I have an arrangement with a friend who takes away all the books I have read over the previous month. She then puts them in the Royal British Legion Bar where they have charity shelves and the books are sold to benefit the RBL
that is a good idea, jaxx
I get to read them and then they are put to a good use.
I decutter and sell/give away everything BUT the books. My books stay put.
I loan them out, but want them returned.
Crossy, you are a man after my own heart. I have a bookcase full of my favourites that I reread over and over. My husband has a bookcase of angling books and the grandchild has a coulple of bookshelves as well.
I would rather give them away as they hardly ever come back when borrowed
I re-read books in my bookcase many times. The give a warmpth, a soul to where i live.
that is very true, jaxx. I do not lend books anymore.
warmth
crossy, I can read typonese
Exactly, but it is hard to keep them tidy. I read one book every three days or so. I am into David Baldacci right now
that is well because that is mostly what i type
A further extension of English as she is typed.
If my beloved would let me, I would of converted our living room to a small library long ago, with nothing but a loveseat or fainting couch and a couple of wingbacked chairs with ottomans and a small table to hold beverages of an adult nature.:)
jaxx, what Baldacci are you reading now?
All in decanters with silver labels eh crossy
ahh yes, some of those nice, heavy crystal decanters..
perfect
A fainting couch? Is that what you all call a chaise lounge?
I have just finished the Christmas train. The others I have i WILL CHOOSE FROM TONIGHT
no, there is an actual couch type called a fainting couch
google it
you can get modern reproductions
I am not shouting, merely bashed the Caps key, sorry
it only has one arm and can be plain or very decorative
Will you go as far as a tantalus?
I'll make sure to get one to keep around for fainting people.
I just brought The Target from the library today. I am on a list for all my favorite authors and they call me when the latest comes out. This way, after I read them, I don't have to store them somewhere.
ya never know, especially after a drink or six
Victorian ladies often swooned due to tight corsets.
they did indeed, jaxx
Well, that would be a passing out couch and I would hate to keep something so delicate around for that, as they generally get puked on.
Clearly they couldn't just drop to the floor
mm, yes, must consider the puke..
perhaps one of those world globes with the mini bar hidden inside...
But this library is simply for you, crossy, so no puke
will have to get a smoking jacket, even though i no longer smoke.
Don't you think that would be a little tacky and out of place?
To be sure because he never has a drink or six.
Dark Bottle green velvet - lovely
actually what i do have is a nice collection of kerosene lamps as well as some old ink-wells that i have gathered over the years that will look amazing in my new library
Now, one of those antique globes that includes things like here be dragons
a nice brass wether station mounted on the wall, a few paintings and it will be good to go
Perhaps you could change the couch for an antique table
so many possibilities;)
Do you mean a weather station or a barometer?
the one with all of them, the barometer, the temperature and the wind speed gauge with the little cups you mount on the roof:)
Finish with a sumptuous persian rug, so elegant. A true Library
now we are talking:)
A super plan
Make sure that your first novel is in pride of place
I have just seen the time, eek. I am off to my bed. Sleep well soodle without dreams. Night molly. Night crossy, you all take care
tc jaxx
Aw. Sorry I didn't get to say bye to Jaxx. Have you finished the grid, Cross?
I'll take that as a 'Yes' & wander off to the spook-free Soodlepit. G'night all.
gn soodles. I am a long way from finished yet:(
was just pulling some honey garlic chicken wings from the oven.. mmmm
hi everyone, back to finish up, hopefully
was selling coffee at the Market in the Park this morning - came home and collapsed on the chesterfield
howdy, flosey
how are you doing, crossy
not too bad at all flosey, how about yourself this fine day?
great thanks crossy, we've had some absolutely beautiiful sunny days lately
is your icon a carving?
It is an ink on paper work by a First Nation artist of a spirit wolf
I like it> I believe this will be my permanant wolf icon for babble
lovely
we have an interesting carving, a young, upcoming 20 years ago, carver we met while he was on the island here came and stayed with us while he carved it, using cedar from one of the trees we had cut for the siding on our house, I'll put in as icon - now he has created quite a name for himself, travels to Europe, and about in competitions
i would love to see it
I'll finish this grid, then set it up
sounds fine:)
I am also quite fond of the Inuit soapstone carvings:)
they are beautiful
good evening
howdy, enomis

Oh, apparently we had a little sour grapes at The Belmont Stakes today.
Can't blame him really....
Really? I guess that is one way of looking at it.
Skipping a race to beat out another..we may never see a triple crown again
what happened ladies? I have been stuck in the grid
Chrome was beat out by another horse that had skipped the Belmont
Oh. It is hard to win all three.
se6/18(the one after to sew the eyes closed), please
The horse in question skipped The Kentucky Derby. The Belmont was today.
And it is not a requirement to run in all three races.
sounds like the Jockey made a mistake with Chrome anyway
Yeah, there was a lot more to Chrome losing than what the owner was bitching about.
HI molly xxxxx
Ru x did you go for a spin in your new wheels today? x
I did.. top down.. went cruising to Marin and got a hair cut and drove home.. it is soooo much fun xxx
please ...can anyone give me a clue for the se6/18(the one after the se5/10(sews the eyes shut)?
Golden Gate or Bay?
I was north of the golden gate jilly.. in Mill Valley
Mellow capitol of the world
a very calm state of being aeb
Sews the eyes shut??? : O
I don't know which word sews the eyes shut?
ty Bugsaw
but that was not the one...........
I'd of bridge hopped somewhere. Had so much fun in 2006 when we rented a Mustang convertible and drove the coast
I don't think the word before means sews the eyes shut
so which one means sews the eys shut aeb ?
according to the dictionary it does.
there is a plural of mister in Spanish
<------!!FW!!
those are the only se 6,18 words
I must have the wrong dictionaries then.
it's the word (third after the second 6/32).
I have the plural or spanish misters.
*wonders if aeb is playing babble in a parallel universe*
please check again aeb. there are no 6,32 words, just 7,32
Me too, I don't have any se6/32
sorry se7/32
I agree with ruru. I think you are on your own here aeb. Sorry
*poof*
do you need ... polite term to address a man + an oboe is a ***d instrument?
sorry se7/32(second one)
*is that a horn in your pocket or are you happy to see me * (penquis to oboe player)
hi ru... ;o)
the people who post the letters are the se 7/32
se + a boat fe***** me to the shore (pt)
sorry, that is the third se 7/32....
The third word after the second se7/32 is plural of Spanish misters
the word aeb is talking about is seel.. which means to sew a falcon's eyes shut for training .. how cruel
oh! thanks ruru
no I have that one ty
yes....ruru is correct!
two were clued....one of them must be what you are looking for....
I'm so confused. There isn't an se6/18 near that word.
that's okay molly dear xxxx
the se's r driving me crazy as you can tell!
Bugs clued very peaceful right at the start of this. That is the only other se6/18
Sorry, very calm state of being.
the 3rd re 6/18 any hints?
re + pretty flower for valentine's day
I have that one...I have 22 of them, but there are 24 of them and those are the two I need to finish this grid.
ty ru
try refreshing aeb
There are only two se6/18 words. I am totally lost on this.
do you need SI 6/18??
I need one more the last se 7/32, please
se + the boat fe***** me to shore (pt)
So it wasn't an se6/18 that you needed?
Didn't you just clue that Pen?
No... Iwas going back and forth for hours and getting more confused by the minute.
Oy, I need a drink.
make one for me too molly xxxx
yes, molly, but that is the last se 7/32....
Did you refresh aeb? I had this happen once where Babble would not accept a correct word for me and it was my last one so I was going nuts. Ruru was finding my frustration quite entertaining.
ty all and ty penquis for the last clue F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S!
I know it is Pen, I'm wondering if the clues are being overlooked or something.
If it hadn't have been me, I would have found it pretty entertaining too.
*Passes Ru a double* x
YAY for aeb!
Yes, I did refresh..thank you for that advice.
congrats!
I was thinking of explaining why pasting your words into Lickety's list is helpful, but I think I will just sit here and quietly slug my Irish.
if I old out my glass will you top me up, Molly?
8hold out my glass rather
*Pours a long shot for Bugs*
nevermind, I obviously have had too many already
Maybe I was just mor harried than usual because I have walking Pneumonia and have been coughing with every second breath all day and my sides hurt.
you should be in bed getting well aeb. I hope you feel better soon. I have had that and it is no fun at all
aw....that's awful...hope you feel better soon!
I'm still totally grossed out by the seel word. Someone call the ASPCA.
I have been in and out of bed all day and i am thankful for this large grid today, because I have no voice(laryngitis) and can't even talk on the phone.
may I have a clue for the last de 6,21 word please
I know,Molly and I agree....it is too cruel.
Are you SURE it's the last de 6/21? : D
bugs....think of the large circular ride at the fair....change first letter...
good clue penquis!
thanks for the word and the laugh ladies!
*Applauds Bugs for having a sense of humor*
ty...
Nite all...I think I will read another book...."Mrs.Poe" a biography.
I love to laugh Molly. That is why my teeth are chipped from sandy winds
this grid frustrated me mightily
i did not like it....
sandy winds?
it is a line from a song ruru. There are always sandy winds at the beach
oh.. as long as it tides you over I guess
surf's me right to not get it
ok then... I am not the punner you are
Oh my, we have gone from sewing birds eyes shut to a book about Edgar Allen Poe's mistress. Spooky.
nevermore.. nevermore, nevermoooooooooreeee
ru is raven again.... ;o)
:D
Oh I see, Bugs has taken us back in time to the Hoyt Axton days.
checking re icon change
The "cerebral motor infirmity" group of infantile brain ...
New picture, no explanation of what it is though.
a carving??
Well it's not peonies, I'm pretty sure of that.
Another warm and fuzzy comment from Mr. Dakota
*Buys the world a Coke* ♥
can i have rum with mine please?
I just love it when he pops in to spew some hateful message.. it's so charming.. how bout you guys
*Pours a shot of Trader Vics in Pen's coke*
mmmm....
Yes, I can definitely feel the love.
I'm touched actually
*Passes Ru a tissue x*
always knew that, ru... ;o)
*sniffle*
not as "touched" as he is however
