Strangely my Dad's just had a hip replacement. Mind you he's 75! No, to be fair, I think mine's just a touch of rheumatics - if we have a damp summer I always get rheumatic pain but this is worse than usual but like I said it's easing a bit, so by the weekend I should be back to doing cartwheels and gymnastics lol

magnesium is a natural mineral in our bodies. if you need to take the tabs more frequently, it should not harm you. i take one when i wake, about 7:30am, then another at 8:45am, before i leave for work.

aftershave is supposed to pull tight and freshen up the skin just shaved. Eau de cologne is only for the fragrence.

Trouble is Di can put a perfume on and it'll still smell lovely the next day. I can put something on and it'll be gone within a couple hours! Mind you, she always smells lovely anyway (well, apart from when she farts *giggle*)
if you want something that stays with you for longer, use eau de parfum or even a perfume. Dab in moderation on places that have veins right beneath the skin, so your body warmth will release the scent.
oh, dear, worzel. i promise not to tell her that...
note of caution: not ALL places with veins right beneath the skin are advisable though...
I've actually just found out you can buy something called a fragrance primer which makes the scent last longer. Bet that costs a bit!
but, worzel, you have to pick a scent which agrees with your sk4.
what rose says. Find a perfume that harmonizes with your skin. Might take a while to find it.

my favourite perfume is elizabeth arden's green tea. on some people it just doesn't happen. worzel, to maximise the scent, i use shower gel, deoderant and spray on perfume, all in the same scent
mine is Cristobal, by Balenciaga. Just a tiny bit on wrists and behind ears, and in the cleavage.

I also love Angel, the perfume with cacao in it, lol. But it has become overused by too many people who just don't know the meaning of moderation.

on a different tangent here, it is funny to watch the class i am in now; the teacher gave two weeks notice for a deadline on all old assignments to be handed in. The date was yesterday and no old stuff would be marked after that date. That will leave two weeks for all new stuff till the end of the class. That way she will not have to backtrack so far to do her marking. So, yesterday alone we had three leadies breakdown in tears, two guys had panic attacks and had to leave and one guy took his binder out to the smoking area, burned it, and left.

mlfan, it's essentially a gimmick. the main character "regenerates" and gets a new face. thus, the show can never become stale, and the actor is not stuck playing it forever.
each actor brings his own quirks and genius to the part. i tell you, it's the greatest tv show ever made.
The reason I mainly look forward to Christmas is for the Doctor Who special :)

they got into some sugarfree gum - turns out the xylitol in it is a deadly poison for dogs
we got them to the emergency vet hospital less than 2 hours later, and they both had low blood sugar although not dangerously low, thank goodness

i am heading to bed....g'nite all....
so they spent the night and day there, got IV glucose until their sugar levels came back up, got all kinds of other things checked, seem ok now although we will still have to have them tested for liver damage in another day or two, as that doesn't always show up right away

yes, my son came home and found shredded gum wrappers but no gum - he thought it just might clog them up but when he started looking into it, he found out about the xylitol
they weren't acting very symptomatic - in fact they seemed fine - but that is good, as if they catch it early they can get their blood sugar back up and avoid a lot of bad results

my cats are mostly harmless except the small psychotic one bites every now and then, and I have to go get antibiotics (since they're usually puncture wounds that don't bleed much)

Sue...it seems like you and I have similar cats. Mine have left a path of destruction in m apt. But these are the most affectionate cats I've ever had, so I endure....I recite this mantra on a regular basis "It's the living creatures that matter, not the inanimate objects" and I keep repeating that until I believe it.
my large fat cat used to be quite cuddly, but she's getting pretty arthritic, I think, and doesn't move around much any more
All three of mine are under 5 so are quite active and rambunctious. I'm too old for this, but they are so loving. They were all strays....what can I say?!!!
right now I have old cats (including the small psychotic one although she never seems to change much) and young dogs. Interesting combination.
My last two cats were 18 and 20 when they died and never sick. I was sure I'd never care for any ever again...WRONG!! Glad, though...they are so sweet.

my cats are at least 10 and 12, and maybe older; I adopted them as adults
