good morning all :)
greetings friends :)
pugs! *hugs* Finally we meet, lol. How are you today? Just read your news, wow! Brilliant plan.
I cant believe it! lol hugs and love back
where is our Rose at
haven't seen her yet :(
Iam hoping it works out Sprite
so glad about your news too and how was the party
it would be so good, sweetie. The distance between you and him especially. And care for your sister. Only a shame about your job. But I bet you will find a good one there as well.
the party is tomorrow, sweetie. Nothing big, just the 4 of us, cozy breakfast and gifts, and a nice homemade dinner.
I know sprite---my heart starts hammering just thinking about the change but I think it would be great for her and me as well
it takes away my last worry, pugs. I was sure worried about you and him still living in the same house.
well its all going to take some time before it happens and when I fly down next month that will tell me alot
yes, one step at a time. You are amazing, pugs.
thanks Sprite, and so are you---my sister is more to love it then me for its in a warmer climate but I will adjust lol
oh, at least you can ask your boss for a great whatsitcalledinenglish... that he writes down that you are a wonderful worker and smart and dependable and everything.
hehehe, just think how you are gonna love it when it is winter and you are not buried in acres of snow!
yes I thought about that too
true--and no cost of heating either
it will be worth it, if this works out the way it looks now. Such huge steps, pug. You are building a whole new life for yourself. I wish you so much happiness! You deserve it so much.
ahh, thanks so much Sprite---love to you
*hugs*
hugs back :) I wrote Wor and Di for Ive been kind of worried about them there with all that going on and wanted to be sure they were safe and she said they were
ah good, pugs. Oh how odd. I dreamt about them last night! That they were back together. How very odd.
well it could happen :) and that is odd, well maybe not, after all we are soulsisters-lol And our third one is missing in action-lol
too true. ROSE! Get your butt over here!
we had rain and mild storms most of the night here
hm, 105 words in and hitting a brick wall
as long as they are mild, pugs... and don't mess with your internet...
I was hoping it wouldnt-lol seems like I miss catching you about every morning now-:(
sweetie, work comes first. And we will keep connected, through emails and in spirit, even if we cannot chat in babble for a couple of days. I think of you very often.
I talked to Crossy on here a couple of days ago and he gets into the neck doctor the end of oct. He has been waiting along time for that
finally. God I am glad for him. His neck pains him so badly.
I know, but its not the same-lol coffe, friends and babbling and for me a cig-lol
I know! Iam so glad for him too
hehehe I know. Well, who knows, pugs! You may get a job for the afternoons there.
thats true, never thought of that
oh, good that you mention coffee. Must prepare my gifts for you and rose, so I can send them tomorrow.
you send me too much as it is---but I love your gifts and cant wait
hehehe this is just a very small thingy... it will make you smile.
well you already do that for me
you got a busy week ahead
not really. Just the tuesday, final visit to the psychiatrist and the creative therapist. Am planning on cleaning out my room. Which is a HUGE undertaking.
you have made such huge steps yourself this year Sprite--all good stuff--I need to do that too and just keep putting it off
am gonna give away a load of books. With the ereader, I find I am less attached to my paper books. Some I will keep, but the ones that I don't think I will read again, I am gonna give away.
Oh, I want to tell you something I forgot to write you about
in the year to come, I will clean out everything in the house that is messy. Except Tim's room, lol. I haven't done much housekeeping in the last decade.
oh do tell!
I went to yardsale yesterday looking for toys for a little girl in need of some and due to the rain I could only find one sale
cooee and g'day from me. {{hugs}} miz pugs and *smooch* sprite
*hugs rose!* Hello my dear friend. How are you today and how did you sleep?
you took your sweet time over getting your butt overhere, btw, rose
I wasent going to stop but I seen a pink trike, so I did and a old girlfriend from grade school was there with her mom, aunt and grandson--we hugged and chit chat for a little while--I was sad for her, she lost her hubby to cancer last year(he was just 50) but was so good to see her
slept okay, still having hot spells. foot almost twice it's normal size. and you, hun? was your night a little better?
Hug and Love Rose and about time too-lol
oh that is awesome, pugs. Good things are happening to you :)
glad you slept ok, rose. Would have hated to kick that guardian angel's butt. My night was pretty good. No bears hunting me. Dreamt that Worzel and Di were together again though. Odd huh.
sounds like she could use a friend, pugs. Did you exchange phone numbers?
probably not. i had a bit of a chat with wor last nght...i'm hoping he picks up on what i said.
why is your foot swelled Rose--what have you been doing
he is more likely to do so than the cyber booh lee, for sure, rose. And your advice is always worthwhile.
that's the problem, pugs. i haven't been doing anything. i even sat down all through service, with my leg/foot elevated on a chair.
no Sprite, we were so suprise seeing each other, never thought of it--her and I also work together at our first factory job
rose is innocent this time, pugs. Her body is reacting to having had to battle that darn cold.
well another trip to the doctor it looks like
so there pugs....what sprite said...pfft :-P
rest up, drink plenty of fluids and be very very nice to yourself, rose... I think that is all you can do. And magnesium, of course :)
LOL, hows the cold, Rose? is it gone now
no it isnt, she can stop working--I think her body is telling her that
just about, pugs. and i am seeing workcover's doctor tomorrow. i am glad my foot is so swollen. he will e ale to see what effect that the surgery has had on my whole body.
patience, dear pug :) She will. When the time is right.
ugh....b key not always typing...* be able *
it just seems since shes been able to return to work her body is saying no,no,no
a
Hi nono
pugs, i have to be se4 doing the right thing by workcover, or they will not pay for my treatment.
that is very true, pugs. And rose is giving it her best shot, but it looks like work has killed her ability to work... the surgery wrecked her hard-won balance.
hehe, hi Nanette, a very cordial a back at ya.
I know Rose but your body has a voice too
Rose, I talked to Di and Wor and she assured me they are safe in all that, that is going on over there
Iam just worried about you Rose
pugs, i have to get workcover's doctor to see it from my point of view. and i plan on telling this new doctor exactly how the fall and consequent surgery has effected me.
pugs... note that I am not on rose's case about this... have faith in her, she is doing exactly the right things.
can you go in looking worse off-lol
ugh, brb, mother nature calling....lolol
lol, no need for that. Things are bad enough as they are.
I know Sprite, but she dont always feel pain like she should until its went overboard
I know, sweetie. Will email. Don't worry too much, rose knows what she is doing.
Boo!!!!
hey worzel. I dreamt of you and Di last night, how odd is that :)
Very odd - I hope it was a nice dream though
WOR!!!!!!!!!!!!! love and hugs and Iam so happy to see you
depends on how you'd feel about you and Di being back together again. Cuz that is what I dreamt. I liked the dream.
Good morning pugs hun and I am happy to be here. It's only for abour 1/2 hour as I have decorating to go and do lol xx
like a cake?
Now, Sprite, that sounds like a nice dream. It may, one day, come true - who knows?
I sure do miss you Wor
not may but will, Wor
pugs I WISH it was a cake - haven't had a decent home made cake in months! No, I have a kitchen ceiling to paint, unfortunately. I have missed you too. I shall be on here roughly 2 or 3 mornings a week, usually somewhere over the weekend, but I shall email people within the next few days and talk in more depth xx
nose
oh crap! sorry
I object to the combination of crap and nose
yeah you owe me a HUGE letter--lol
Yes, my apologies sprite - doesn't sound pleasant does it lmao
lol
lol, and you go to the sin bin twice, worzel... so5 lands you there as well.
HUGS TO MY WORZEL!!!!!
I do, pug - and I shall also require your home address again as I have lost the letter you sent. Thank you SO much for the fridge magnet though it was a beautiful sentiment and shall take pride of place on my new (well, rather old and tatty second-hand) fridge xx
ooo thanks sprite - didn't spot the so word lmao
MUM!!!!!!!! ((hugs))
:)
how are the fleas, mate?
oh, oh, forgot to tell you all......i actually have finally planted the tulip bulbs. if and when they flower i will take pics for you all to see.
Oh Mum don't get me started! My back is pickled with great big red blotches. Mind you, I've had 3 days of anti-histamine tablets and the itching has all but stopped, so just waiting for the swellings to go down now. Poor Di - she looked at my back yesterday and nearly fainted - then when I looked in the mirror I nearly fainted too! stilll - you gotta laugh . . .
fireflies
WTG SPRITE!!!~!
congrat Sprite
congratulations sprite x
wow rose, I hope they will bloom for you
poor you, wor.
Wor, need I send you a flea collar to wear?
thanks all. I am gonna take my leave for now. I want to get a lot of cleaning done today. *hugs* and I wish you a blessed day and a peaceful night.
lolol, i forgot sprite, it probably isn't too big a deal
hugs Sprite--have lots of fun-lol
Awww, I shouldn't worry Mum - I'll be fine. Di keeps saying "You'll have to go to the doctors" - you know what worriers you women are! Don't think I need a flea collar though pugs - just a bath in a bit tub of TCP - only problem with that is I'll stink for days
Take care Sprite xx
oh, worzel, you know what TCP is. did i tell you i found 2 bottles of the stuff in MIL's rooms when we cleaned them out?
Worzel use baking soda or oatmeal, they work well for swelling and the itch of bug bites. Good for the skin too.
No, you never mentioned that. It's weird, though - you don't seem to see anybody buying it these days except the older generation. Perhaps people are too stuffy about it. After all, it is the kind of thing your gran used to put on your if you grazed your knees lol. I have no problem using it apart from the stink!
Ahh Marjetta thank you! I shall give the baking soda a go. I guess I mix it with water, yea?
roflolol, wor. at the same time i also found a bottle of lysol and.....chloroform.
Yes just put it in the water before you get in to soak for a bit.
Chloroform? OMG who was she trying to knock out?
I was thinking the same thing-lol
probably herself.....
Right - that's me having a nice baking soda bath tonight! Let's hope I don't cook lol. Thanks Marjetta xx
About a half cup or 30 - 60 g
Awww bless her. Perhaps she used it to get to sleep at night
ty Marj. I shall let you all know how I got on with Marjetta's Marvellous Magic Mixture next weekend!
It works well on our 3 year old.
Wor, do try taking care of yourself a little better
Right - I can only apologise for this being a flying visit, but if I don't go and do some decorating now I shall never get it done. So I shall take my leave of you and talk to you all again very soon. Probably not until next Saturday because of no internet access at my new place, but I shall definitely be here, and shall email you all within the day! Take care everybody and lovely to see you all again xx love and hugs xx *poof*
when i was younger and subject to giant urticaria, my mother used to make me have baths with pinetarsol. gosh that stuff stank, but by golly it worked....
bye Wor--hugs and love to you and Di
xoxox worzel, mate
Rose, Iam taking leave too--I got lots to do today and its a coolish day for a change--love and hugs and hope you rest well
okay, then, leave me here on my lonesome. see if i care....waaahhhhh
*giggle* only joking darling. i hope you have a lovely day. xoxox

jack!!!my dear! how are you doing?
good morning everyone:)
g'day crossy. i am about to start the third book of a tale of two cities...
how are you, mate? and how is the mrs?
doing fine rose. Another typical day in the life as it were. My beloved is still abed. Are you enjoying the tale or are you just grinding through it?
i am actually starting to enjoy it....the french revolution has begun.
time for a early crossy tidbit of the day!
In Victorian times, estate gardeners never planted grape vines without first burying a dead donkey underneath the plot.
ewwww, crossy. that's revolting.
and who killed the donkey? huh? huh?
good morning
hi sukee. sukee, crossy just killed a donkey...naughty crossy....lolol
interesting discussion :)
of course it is....this is babble...
:)
valid point> I am sure there was no such thing as the Dead Donkey Mercantile about:)
howdy sukee
Maybe best, PETA would make their lives difficult :)
Tis one of the main reasons I started Crossy's Tidbit of The Day years ago; not just because i get a lot of feedback on it now, but it has always had a way of starting interesting babble conversations:)
lol, just had a vision of a big box store: Donkeys-R-US
lol
This grid is not as frustrating as yesterdays was for me.
funny thing though, In the first year or so I did my tidbits, I used to get a lot of ridicule and nastiness about it, but life has taught me that if people go out of their way to quash an idea, ambition or a dream of your, then you should pour even more into it because you are probably on the right track:)
I like how you think :)
:))
I think best when half-awake:) That's why I get up early to do my writing stint. the words just flow like a river from my zombified mind:)
I used to find that when I was doing creative writing, I wrote best late at night with coffee and (ashamed to admit it now) with a cigarette. But, I never inhaled :)
lol, the old "I never inhaled" ploy...
I really didn't, I liked the taste of Camel cigarettes :)
my beloved and I quit in 1992. have you heard my little story of that, sukee?
I haven't
will take but a minute, 1 sec...
xoxox you both...and waiting with bated breath...
Up until 1992, the Mrs. and myself smoked almost a pack a day each of the players brand of cigarettes, which at that time were costing $7.50 a pack. On that day we both made the pledge and what we did as an incentive was to take the money we would of spent and instead place it in a tin we had in the kitchen cupboard. That's 15 dollars a day, every day went into that tin. Now, come forward two years to May of 1994. I sat done on the day that was 2 years to the day since we quit, and dumped out all the coins and bills onto the kitchen table and began to count. After about 5 hours or so, I was done, the bills were all counted and stacked and the coins were all counted and wrapped and i had my tally... It was $12,160.00 that sat in front of me and on that very day we took all that money and went down to the local Toyota dealer and bout a brand new Toyota Echo ... with cash. there was about 100 dollars difference that I had to pony up to match the sticker price;)
wow, what a story.
bought
oh, wow!! crosy. you and the mrs must have een so excited and pleased.
it was a day to remember
fist thing I did with the new car was to remove the ashtray and store it away
first
as you do, crossy.
others here have most likely head this way too much, but i thought you would like the story, sukee:)
i am coming up to 4 years since i gave up. when i did so, smokes were almost AU$20/pack.
ouch!
My habit was no where near as bad, a pack of Camels once in a while. I quit when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, even though it was unrelated.
I think they are $13.00 a pack here atm
crossy, it is always nice to hear a success story like that.
I got my first cancer a year after i quit, sukee
((rose))
Well, that is not fair.
Thank goodness we were in Canada.
well, it is when you think on it. can you imagine going on that evil cheo, puking your guts out and feeling that you are leaving a part of your life in the toilet bowl every time you stick your head it it PLUS having to quit smoking at the same time?
well i am cancer free at the moment...and i have just had a cold which 5 years ago would have had me knocking on the ICU's door.
sigh, 6 Ys and I have found 2
yes, I would of been dead elsewhere
chemo
my immune system shots alone were 2000 a shit
sukee, there is a ya4/8
shot
Ty granny, got it
oh dear,k crossy...lolol....that's one way of describing them.
the typo king strikes again:)
I remember part of my chemo was pills, thankfully it only cost me $90 a month extra with my coverage.
I had to take those shots every day for a month and I was admitted twice to our hospitals clean room and had to take on two pints of blood each time
sukee, yi x 3, and yo x 2, hun
ty for the y's rose;)
Looks like i had it much easier than you.
ty, I have the two yos :)
you are both champions....
how many years, sukee?
how many years, sukee?
my white blood count went into the toilet as it were:)
good morning everyone.
It's been 16 years cancer free now.
I am going on 24 frm my stage 2A breast cancer and feel very very lucky
helloooo ruby and peri.
However, I never got sick from my chemo; my wonderful oncologist put atavan in the drip
Though I am now 9!!! years clean this December from my last cancer
I was on a anti-nausea drip as well, ruby, but it did little for me
{{corssy}} {{rosie}} {{sukee}} {{peri}}
and so am i, ruby. lucky to have you as a friend at this stage.
I gained weight during my treatments because I tried to eat as much healthy food as I could. My white count was only too low once for treatment. And I never threw up once.
I just couldn't drink gin!
lol, sukee I lost 100 pounds and was a mere shadow
I used to go fr chemo and have a big Mac on the way home, then sleep for a day and go to work the day after
Oh know Ruby, that is one of the worst things. Glad we are all relatively healthy.
I was bedridden for most of it:(
yes, now we own the world!
I worked for a great company that gave me the time off for 1 year. Just as well because at the end of my treatments my mother was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
{{extra hug for crossy}}}
I worked through the whole mess, took a week off for each surgery, but that's all
awwww, sukee. lots of hugs and kisses.
:((sukee))
HI all :)
hello liz!
you are all winners in my book.
now, lets get on with some happy things, or I shall be forced to streak the room:)
we are all fighters, that's for sure!
It was one heck of a year
howdy liz:)
lol
and g'day liz. still not able to sleep, hun?
It's only 10 pm!
Over jet lag now!
yeah?? and?? oh, okay...
How's your day been - are you over your cold?
ro**, you are so well-connected (or something lol) to be in the grid so often
lol, i remember as a young, single fella, my mates and I would not even be heading out to start our evening until 11:30 pm:)
Yes, sometimes I went dancing after 10PM and on a work night too.
Funny in London we were back to going out to dinner at 8.30 - everything's shutting up here by not long after that!
I once flew to Dallas to have dinner with a beau and was at work, bright and shiny the next morning (and smiling)
I'm never bright and shiny in the morning!
yes, i am, liz. but my left ankle and foot are still twice their normal size. i am seeing workcover's doctor tomorrow. it will give him some insight into how my body has reacted to the fall and surgery.
get to the bar/pub around midnight and things would be in full swing by then and they would kick us all out at 2 am
I'm not often bright and shiny any more; that was quite a while ago
lolol, ruby...it's such a common word/name.
poor rose:(
Aw Rose! At some point they have to understand what you've been through and are still going through. Hope the meeting gives you what you need!
why are they swollen ro**
I will take the pb hit to say it
okay, I need to go find something for breakfast.
I was told that people's names don't count, crossy, when they are in the grid!
will be back.
I can go with you on that, liz:)
Have a good day Sukee.
mmm... breffast...
{{bye sukee}}
So I'll continue to use Rose's name and Peri's name, when in the grid!!!!
I think the pb is arbitrary; each group of us sets its own rules
works for me
ruby, i don't know. i have re4ed and elevated the left foot...it doesn't seem to make any difference.
:) there is also an alternate spelling of my name today :)
it is ment to be a bit of fun, nothing more
Hi Peri (making the point!!!)
enjoy your brekky, sukee. and helloooo pe4.
and some of the players talk about pool boys!
Of course I know that, Crossy - and you never know what's waiting for you in the PB!
hopefully, not pool boys!
lol!
bbl
mmm... perhaps there is some bacon in the Pb today:)
Choclits?
oh dear...roflol ruby
and maple syrup...
had enough pool boys to last me a lifetime
Canadian maple syrup of course.
Rose, just want to say good luck with the workcover doc tomorrow. Will be thinking of you and say a little prayer that it goes well.
{{chrissie}}
Hi Chrissie
I have some lovely Grade #1 ligh syrup from Quebec I can add to the PB breffast table
light
Hi all :)
howdy, chrissie
If there are also waffles, that sounds good to me, Crossy. Worth using the names!
Surprisingly, we get good maple syrup here; I think the French put it on crepes
thanx chrissie. without all the support i receive from here, i don't think i would have survived this.
I've never tried French maple syrup.
I make a mean Belgian waffle:) great big thing they are. Two of them fill your plate
You've got loads of people here supporting you, Rose.
we all love rose!
same as what we make here in Ontario, liz, from the same sugar maples; it is just it can often be had for a better price
Your faith gives you strength but babblers keep you smiling :)
When I make it to your part of Canada, I'll look forward to trying them.
is there a difference between canadian maple syrup and the pure maple syrup we get here?
I am not sure, rose; would depend on where it is sourced from
Dunno - I always buy the Canadian stuff! Just because it is Canadian!
awww, geee. you all make me feel so special...
then it is all good!
(here, it comes from Vermont, but beggards can't be choosers)
You are special - in the best possible way
you are our rose, of course you are special:)
thanx, everyone....sometimes when i feel so low, you all pull me back up....i cannot help but smile with all your good wishes.
see you later kids, have to lie down now
tc ruby tuesday
Enjoy the rest of the day, Ruby - hugs.
enjoy, ruby, my dear....
now....after 3 loperidine to settle my tummy....it is pumpkin time...xoxox to you all. lovely to see each and everyone of you.
Sleep well Rose and will be thinking of you tomorrow. Hugs xx
tc ruby, sleep well rose
tc rose
sleep well, rose
14 left for tomorrow - not seeing words now. Enjoy your days everyone. Hugs to all :)
Bye liz, sleep well
I was curious about the price of cigarettes in 1992. A pack of cigarettes were about $2.75 in the US. It could not have been that much more in Canada. Just curious.
going into to kitchen to start the cuisinart and make an omelet.
hello, all.
our somes were and are vastly more expensive that in the states
smokes
have always been
same with booze
it is the taxes
How we pay for our universal healthcare ya know:)
Have no idea as to what smokes are going for now in the states, but here, the top-brand non-reserve smokes are fetching almost $13.00 a pack
I think about $5-$7 dollars a pack..depending on brand
firgured. Like I said, there has always been a disparity due to differing taxes
they added extra taxes on our smokes too, but have no idea what it is used for.
same with gasoline. we are now paying $ 1.37 a litre for fuel. Multiply that by 3.78 and you get it in american gallon
I no longer convert because it just gets depressing
gas prices are sooo jacked up!!
but we are cheap compared to aus and U.K, so it is all relative
so they say...guess it
it's supposed to make you feel better
I look for feeling better wherever I can
:-)
it is also why I stopped buying new hardcover books. it was always the same on the dust jacket.. Price U.s $7.99 In Canada $29.99!
ouch! I use the library rather than buy
last new softcover i bought was $15.00... 3 years ago
Yes, god bless our new library!
cigarettes in the US are going for $12.50 per pack
well, not new anymore is about 5 years old now but still a marvel
I did download a book to my tablet, but only because I had a gift card and didn't know what else to do with it
you can trust me , annie. they were $7.50/pack here in 1992
I trust you
:)
now back to the kitchen and to mix up an omelet
put that price into that tin every day:)
i don't know...trusting Crossy can be a little scary...;-)
mwahahaha!
brb, must see how my evise book exerpt is coming along on authonomy.com
this grid is not easy
revised
excerpt
still gaining in the ranking, but at 2998:)
is that 2998 til it gets to 1?
yup, though that will never happen, but if you can get into the top 100 or so it may be glanced at by one of their editors
how does it gain...by readers or purchase?
it is the new way of getting your book out there
readers, since these are all new novels or parts of novels that have not been picked up on by a publisher yet
what is the genre of your book?
genres are funny things and never usually really fit, but I slotted mine into the fiction/thriller catagory
i like murder mysteries...might give it a look
do you have to download it or can you read it online
you read it from the site
the title of my book is "Longfellow" and is a portion only. Just a bit to tease you
thanks crossy..time for eats...bbl
well, it is not really a murder/mystery either, but you will see when you look at it. it is just a 12,000 word sample and should take you no more than 20 minutes to look over
enjoy your eats
what is the site again...authonomy.com did not work
i will put link up
http://authonomy.com/books/61118/longf\nellow/
sigh, let me tiny url that
http://tinyurl.com/kh9etpo
there u go
think I shall ad that url to my profile as well..
ahh...have to put 'blog' before the authonomy
there, the direct tinyurl link is in profile as well
you are Melbourne?
and i just tested it, works fine
I am:)
ok...bookmarked it. Ta
ta:)
now, for all those who were following that; please note that what is there is a LIGHTLY EDITED ROUGH draft and should be treated as such. I welcome all comments and suggestions and you can post those to me directly on the authonomy site.

lind long time no see>:)
yes don't often chat anymore, but could see you were stuck Mlfan! lol
nbt and nbs
aww thanks lind cross didnt have it either
i thought you had disappeared
hehe, I like cluing with you MLF. It is often like a mad breathless rush to the finish line. I envision some hooded giant with an ax is about to lop off your head if you are not done by a certain time:))
no I just play the game and don't usually chat, but I get to see you are all well (0:
cross you mean i should be scared one of your characters is going to come alive and get me??
lol, not to worry. I shall not be writing you into This book I am working on. pehaps the next one
Lind ohhh but we dont know if you are or not i dont pay attention to who is in here unless somebody says something
cross are you going to turn me into an ogre?
well in that case I will pop in now and again to let you now I am fine too!
lind that would be so nice!:)
Aaww you are too kind!
no, perhaps an ax wielding mass-murder, who licks his blade clean after each attack;)
he will have to mind he doesn't cut his tongue crossy!
lind you and i have spoken in here before a few times
yes lots of times over the years mlfan
cross eww.. but what about the wheelchair?
lind yes:)
that reminds me, for those following my exploits, part two of three of my novel is nearing completion and I am still on track for a year end finish time:)
mlf he can't lick the wheelchair clean!
hey! a wheelchair bound ax murderer!
I like it!
lol lind and i would leave a trail of blood
I can see it now; she hides different impliments of death in the very frame of her chair
cross their has only been one character from a comic book that is in a wheelchair
cross start writing lol
I shall call it Death Goes For a Ride
nah that could mean any mode of transportation
She would work in a hospital in Physio:)
A bespoke murder!
this is good...
*murderer
cross in a lab
A Wheelie scary murderer!
or in Forensics
Lind ROTFLMAO
she can sit and night and tape the parts she cut off onto her own leg stumps in longing for her lost apendages..
I had quite forgotten how much you guys cheer me up!
cross nooooo
:)
Lind aww we try
you do a darn good job too mlfan
Lind see you need to chat more often?:)
Crossy she could put there shrunken heads on her spokes!
you ladies want a really, really scary chapter to read? You would only have to read the first chapter. It is a novel called "Mine" by Robert R. Mccammon. Will scare the heck out of you!!
yes what a lovely decoration they would be too:)
never heard of him
he is worth looking up, MLF his big ones are Boy's Life and Swan Song
my favourite books are Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon
read those two if nothing else
might be a bit smelly though Mlfan
hmm
I have silence of the lambs in ebook. it is a good read
lind yes could be kind of smelly
make sure the shrunken heads are nice and dry first. that way there is no smell
I adore Hannibal Lecter
Though I have gone off of fava beans...
LOL
I can see it now. sales of fava beans dropped 90% after the movie first aired
I notice you didn't say you had gone off Chianti
Well it is not the fault of the grape:)
lol lind
anyways, wine is wasted on me. i use it for cooking only, while I wait for the real booze to arrive
what do you drink crossy?
i am with you cross
Vodka is my poison of choice
I am not too fussy as long as it has alcohol in it! lol
My favourites are real ales, fine wines, cognac & single malts!
some nice Ketlel 1 or smirnoff blue label will do
i love gin and tonic
and wine coolers
Finally got a huge thunderstorm last night!! Fabulous. Had to calm the cats, though.
aww poor cats
looks like we are going to get a storm here today
ooh Mlfan, gin & tonic on a boiling day is lovely
same here mimi! poor cats were all hiding under the beds
hi mimi
((crossy)) Love your book so far.
did someone say gin and tonic?
Now you must quickly finish it as I am in suspense!
lol peri i did
tyvm, mimi. The second edit copy is much improved i think
lind any time for that drink!
I shall do my best mimi:)
Hi, Lin...are you able to watch the US TV series "Hannibal" there?
it added 2000 words and smoothed a lot of rough spots
No I don't think we have that Mimi, but I might be able to find it online
The second edit is what I read, crossy. I finally joined up with Authonomy. I'm still struggling through writing mine...it's a labor of love and all that entails.
I won't think it is as good as the movie I am sure, since it won't be anthony hopkins
I am sure you will do fine mimi
Lin, it's a very odd telling of Hannibal's years as a psychiatrist when he begins his evolution into murder and cannibalism.
It is a good site, mimi, and will serve you well when you are ready to put part of your novel out there
One of the main characters is played by your Hugh Dancy.
oh ok and I do like the actor playing hannibal, he is from james bond
well now you have all cheered me up and I maybe start to get excited about this evening (0:
Just the thought of putting my book out there give me incredible anxiety, crossy...suppose that is normal. It's rather like watching your first child to off to school the first day.
EN 4?
Just heard a great quote: Luck is the residue of design.
it is, mimi. You pour your heart and soul into "your child" then put part of it out there for people to tear apart
en & I am **der than you are you are younger than me

yw
bye lind
that sorry
pb for me
The challenge is always getting the thoughts in your head to come across as you intend but knowing others may read something very different. It's like the song ♪♪Oh, Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood♪♪ especially since mine is an autobiography and not fiction, thereby, eliciting criticism of my life...daunting.
peri? is that the eo4?
,,,ages
dose i think that is the one i have

good morning friends.
crossy, I was hoping to see you here - do you have an italian tomato sauce recipe to share?
howdy,trif:)
No, sadly I do not. I just kind of wing it and start with italian plum toatoes and some toato paste for thickening. then some fresh peppers and after that it is whatever comes to mind
tomatoes
lots of basil and oregano of course
but fresh plum toatoes if you can get them
canned if you cannot
that's a good start! thanks....valentine is coming over for dinner tonight, and his ex was ITALIAN Italian, and I feel like an idiot even trying to make up some spaghetti and meatballs, but he is panting for some (he really can't cook at all, bless his heart) and I want to at least to try to make something decent
use the Italpasta brand for any canned things. it helps
then find out how spicy he likes his sauce
that I know - medium
Good morning/day everyone
good morning dearest!
then stick with peppers/spices that add just a tingle to the tongue
howdy car:)
morning all!
suze!!
morning sue!

*makes tea and biscuits for all the lurkers*
Thank you, ru.
sugar?
No, thank you.
hi all, diving in
Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.
chicken sandwich and coffee
Make it so.
I have been watching Star Trek TNG
i guessed that. or that you were just a big fan 8- )
eons
oops!
I am a big fan and Netflix has a lot of episodes I haven't seen
*one Earl Grey tea .. piping hot*
thanks ru
Aw, Ru is hosting a tea party. How dainty of him.
*don't you love the pattern on the china molly?*
Tea Party has sure got a bad name now
cucumber sandwiches, please
crusts off
The china is lovely, but the cucumber sandwiches are making me gag
tea bagging has a bad name.. a tea party is civilised
remember when the teabaggers started to organize, they has signs saying they wanted to teabag president obama LOL
I am afraid to ask what tea bagging is
Tea Party has had bad connotations since 1773 : D
nbt
saanichat, google it, but read carefully LOL
that was fast Gwen
tanx 8-)
found all the words with a double YY already
googled. 'nuff said.
that's why the teabaggers stopped calling themselves teabaggers, now just tea party
*whistles*
*Wonders how many people are looking for double YY words*
*wonders how many people are now googling tea-bagging*
I like to use a tea strainer personally
i can see it, a split in teh tea party, the tea-baggers and the tea-strainers going to war
I use a tea ball ahahahaha!
Just came on & was scanning the chat. You all are cracking me up. Teabaggers and teabagging.
Molly you are really asking for it now, tea balls indeed...
do i need two tea balls to go teabagging?
two are preferred
I don't think you can participate Gwen
well.. tea baggers suck at politics.. so it's really just a small step
i beleive the 2nd amendment gives me the right to go teabagging!!
I don't think this is what is discussed at prim and proper tea parties. Just a guess.
snicker
don't bet on that molly
and this doesn't seem to be an ordinary tea party
Ah, the second amendment. Back to the cold dead hands.
I hear those tea parties can get a little racy
Help with se7, 40 please
what what? someone wants a clue for the game!!! ??? LOL
se (the beginning of snake) + you go we go and ...
Ru, you are thinking of the Ann Summers parties. I think they call those "tea parties" so the men folk don't know what they are doing.
<---has to google ann summers
got your clue finally, thanks rurururu
Sexy tea parties...
oh my goodness
just a normal Sunday morning
<---chokes on biscuit
it's too late to go to church now saanich :D

Thanks
Gs are Ground
going for a walk.. have fun all
have a nice walk ru, see you later
As are Aquefied
corssy is back:)
as is crossy:)
nothing like the first word you type being a disaster:)
Hi, crossy. I have had a glass or two of winw with my meal tonight. What have you been imbibing?
nothing, yet, and that is the scary part!
I can't spell wine, for goodness sake.
hehe:)
must be a good vintage.
moscato - very nice
my preferred tipple has to pass a few quality control tests first. The #1 test being that you can spark it up with a lighter or run a car with it should the need arise:)
LOL, crossy
should also be usable as a cleanser of wounds, a disinfectant and should have the ability to peel paint
Good heavens! you actually drink that ?
lol> I have drank things that had to be poured and consumed quickly, least they evaporate!
I take it you are a fan of the heavy reds?
lol, no,wine is not my thing.
and I don't mean overweight Russians
I do keep a bottle or two around for cooking, however.
I am surprised molly isn't here extolling the virtues of poteen
My father was very keen on cider. he bought the scrumpy version literally by the barrel and kept it under the sink in the scullery.
only thing I know like that is "poultine" and while I sometimes enjoy all that rich gravy and cheese, it does not lend itself to an evening with a good bottle of wine;)
We make a very good , local hard cider here called "Thornbury" and is a local favorite
italian food goes particularly well with red wine
I have to be careful with red wine. Anything heavy with tannin triggers migraines. I have found that Fitou, a French red, is tolerated by my awkwasrd metabolism
that is too bad, tannins are very good for you, right up there with flavenoids that are in dark chocolate and green tea
When I used to dabble in the wines I found that i enjoyed the aussie whites.
My sister swears by green tea but I cannot stand the stuff.
or a nice Peller estates
chardonnay*
I like the dryer whites but my husband likes things so sweet like moscatel that ooze from the bottle
I seem to recall that the greek stuff is like that while most of the italian stuff is dryer than a popcorn fart:))
I have never heard a popcorn fart!
but I may be wrong. I am far from knowledgeable when it comes to vino
it squeaks when it poots, jaxx lol
I find the experts who go on about the aroma of rain washed pavements etc, most pretentious.
ahh yes, the nuances of this and the notes of that and the noses of the other.. bah!
I shall have to keep a weather ear open next time I am at the cinema
but then again, I do not have an phd nose or pallette
I just know what I like.
a wine that has notes of rain washed pavement??!! ewww!~
or it dances on the palette like the smell of an unwashed, wet dog..lol
No, that is the odour of Ashley's feet!
lol
never have I known a smell like it and he is only 9
my tipples, as I have said have notes of accelerant with a finish of a lit sulfur match!
does he get his shoes wet a lot? Likes to dance in the puddles?
That is the odd thing, no not particularly. I have bought special deodorant socks and his feet overwhelm them too. I had thought of offering his feet (and the rest of him) to manufacturers to test their products
Ah wine! I am a lover of fine wine. Actually, I am a lover of wine. Actually, the only criteria I have is that it contains alcohol and comes in liquid form. With apologies to Ru.
Good evening, Cross & Jaxx :-)
((soodle))
I hope you enjoyed your wine, Jaxx?
howdy soodles:)
I am listening to the BeeGees on Skyone arts. Lots of memories of a misspent youth.
I will even take my booze in semi-liquid form, hello vodka jello shooters!
I love the BeeGee's
I did indeed, soodle
So do I.
What a pleasant way to spend the evening, Jaxx. And Cross, I have experienced a watermelon, into which holes were bored, vodka poured in, left overnight and then eaten. On a beach. In Greece. Very probably listening to the BeeGees!
lol, last party i went to we "dosed" a mellon
Ah! Them were the days.
Add chatting to fellow babblers and it makes it really great.
did you know that a full, large melon can absorb a full 40 ounces of vodka? lol
Massachusets (?) now
we only have one brother left now??
Yes, sadly. I went to school with Robin just before they emigrated. they were really poor but have made up for it since
The BeeGees came to my attention when Saturday Night Fever was released. Opened up a whole world of music to me.
Yep, crossy...only Barry is left.
Hi, mimi
Hi, jaxx!
hi again all!
I do wish he'd do something about his teeth. He has an awful lisp these days.
Hi, usue
I must check out barry's solo Mythology tour
howdy again, suze!
Just stopping by to bring my blood pressure down after a very frustrating day of work. In fact, I shouldn't even be in the company of you nice people atm...leaving to calm down with vodka..Hugs.
hi and bye, mimi!
((sue)) Glad Frank is home...how are you holding up?
Sue! How is Frank?
Join us mimi. I have had a pleasant meal with a glass or two of wine. I am feeling very mellow
wb mimi:)
Frank is pretty tired but otherwise doing ok; he hates the bag. I am ok but also a bit tired.
By the by... I finished earlier, so I am happy to clue.
Is the bag permanent, Sue?
Have a nice dinner for later. Right now, just trying to mellow out and bring blood pressure down. Also had computer issues earlier..hate that. Bye for now.
I have 62 left so could I have 62 clues, soodle? lol
supposedly they will reverse it at some point, Soodle, but that would mean the blockage would have to be gone and I don't see what would do that unless the chemo does
Jaxx, if I can do it, anybody can.
I will doodle, soodle
I know it must be awful for him, Sue, but, considering the alternative.... I love the pics you posted on FB. You pair are an inspirational couple.
hello sue and all
Hi TO
aww, thanks, soodle! He realized there wasn't any choice but he still doesn't like it.
Ahhh...my Pandora is playing Christopher Cross' Sailing right now...I feel the mellow coming on...
i am glad you are home, eishing you the best.
better than the alternative. My late mother's boyfriend has a bag, he's 82 now, and he copes very well. it is not a nice thought but there is always a chance that it can be reversed. i will keep him in my thoughts and think positively. negativity does not help.
<----What Jaxx said.
Any developments in the Ashley saga, Jaxx?
His mother (always sensible - not) took the family to look at a larger house in Shaldon, the village across the estuary The rent is £900 a month and she works part time in a local supermarket! Ashley said his room was too small and he'd rather move in with us. It didn't go down well.
thanks, jaxx and soodle!
I have decided that I will vacate the big bedroom and leave it to Ashley while I sleep in the boxroom on the guest bed. At least 'they' can't say he hasn't enough room. Since his knee op Nigel has slept on the recliner chair and sofa. he finds he can move things until his leg is comfortable.
Sorry. Your mellow now, Jaxx. I shouldn't upscuttle you! We'll chat later. Meanwhile, enjoy the BeeGees. And the good news is that the artist formerly known as Son of Soodle is coming home tomorrow for a week. Happy Mammy Smile.
How lovely for you, soodle. Don't worry about spoiling my mellowness as I have thought it out and am quite happy until the next thunderbolt arrives. I am more worried about the retina x-ray I will be having on Tuesday.
se7/40?
Yikes. Retina x-ray? Obviously you have been having problems?
Se, cons, creature who goes Oink, vowel. Sorry Kje, that's the best I can do. LOL
ty, got it, it worked
Good job, Kje!
I have a very pretty pink doughnut right in the centre of my right eye. It developed after a cluster of migraines about 8 weeks ago now. I have seen the specialist and he thinks the last cluster damaged the retinal blood flow so he's checking. I also have the initial stages of cataracts on both eyes. Am I downhearted? No, I have had to accept that I have problems and live with it.
Hair/eye colour co-ordination, Jaxx. I'm impressed! And cataracts are fixable, right?
yes. I hadn't thought of the hair/eye colour co-ordination. Pity, only I can see the doughnut.
I find the fact that I can see what they are doing very disturbing, that's the problem
pe6/24 after urinates?
French word for Father, and not off
ah yes, ty!
Thanks, soodle
I misunderstood, Jaxx. I thought the pink donut was visible to those who looked at you. So, you are looking out through a pink donut?
A ring one with a silver centre lined in black. Very decorative
poor jaxx! reading back my beloved had very successful cataract surgery years ago. It will change your life. I am concerned about retinal blood flow issues though!:(
Could somebody please indulge me and ask for a clue for the pe 7/40?
believe me , so am I. trust me to get something that no-one knows anything about
it is an angle of 360 degrees
Ahem. Reread my post at 3.44 Cross...
soodle, can I have a clue for pe7/40 please
about the pink doughnut, soodles?
pe + platofrm in the ocean that drills for oil + not off
no ty, do not care for doughnuts:)
platform
Why, yes Jaxx. Of course. A toe-nail painting Babbler no longer here. (I've waited hours to type that...).
ha!
ahh, i see, you had it already but wished someone to ask about it?? lol my bad
very good, soodle. I have it, thank you
Doh!
I musunderstood. my bad
and since she has it, it matters not now eh?
Wonder if the toenail painter has tried the Cinderella varish yet?
LOL!
Cinderella varnish?
varnish even. Still feeling the effects of the wine plus BeeGees
lol, you ladies have me lost. have at your nail polish. i think i shall hunt for something to gnaw on in the kitchen brb
fw
Bring back something tasty Cross...
Whoo Hoo Kje. Well done. :-)
Jaxx, is your sight distorted or compromised at all?
The last time she was debating between the coral she had and the pale blue polish called Cinderellashe had just purchased. We then got side tracked on to you looking at feet instead of faces on public transport. We then digressed to viewing arses after molly thought I meant homeless people when I wrote bums.
ROFL. Now you are pegged as a stalker of homeless people's arses, Jaxx. All because of nail varnish. ROFL
There we go! found some honey garlic chicken wings that were almost begging me for release from the icy confines of the freezer. They are now being lovingly warmed in the oven :)
Oh, yes. I had a viral infection that caused the retina to lift and fill like a blister. When it went the blister folded over on itself and died. I had to teach myself to read in front of my eyes as it were. then I got flashing pink lights that caused colours to turn strange shades. orange became a s***** brown for example. This one is there all the time and makes colours equally odd and even with my eyelids closed I can see it.
good lord jaxx!
time to order up a set of bionic peepers
Actually, I believe we decided you were the one partial to a shapely backside and calf
crossy can appreciate a shapely tushie...
This has been going on since 1990 and the last verdict I received from Moorfields eye hospital was that I had to wait until technology caught up with me.
it has, Jaxx.
there are bionic eyes out there right now, but it is a work in progress
I hope so.
I know you appreciate Colin Firth, soodle
saying a prayer for you jaxx.
my beloved could use a pair as well
Thanks. I could do with some divine help.
worked for my 17 year old granddaughter that has mac degeneration in her left eye
Then snags, could you include Mrs crossy as well in tose prayers, please
absolutely
She's very young for that, snags. One thing coping with this puzzling condition has taught me is that there are many much worse off than I
so true.
she has been a trooper through all of this.
because they caught it so early, and she did what she was suppose to, the condition has nearly cleared up.
I must admit I did find describing the problem to a Japanese lady who didn't speak a word of English, very hard.
so, with todays technology, there is hope.
ggeez jaxx
That's the NHS for you.
Oooh. Jaxx.
what's NHS?
National Health Service. Cross
National Health Service, ru and hiya
oh..
hi
OMG! Sorry. I mistook Ru for Cross.
he's much bigger than me soodle
You have missed the conversation you could have put your skills to work on.
jaxx I saw an older women with pink hair today and I thought of you :)
what conversation was that Jaxx?
peri, you are in the grid today.
About shapely bottoms and tushes. Lots of opportunities for ru puns
oh.. sorry I wasn't here for that
no butts about it. I love to jump on stuff like that
:D
Are you back home now, Ru?
yes.. back in chez ru
So am I. I appreciate your unique slant on things. You make me laugh, not an easy thing at the moment.
nice trip last weekend
slant or whacko humor jaxx.. take your pick :D
I want both
I get migraines too but it's never affected my eyes other than temporarily disturbing my vision
I remember advising you a long time ago when you were suffering
I get maybe two a month.. sometimes three.. not constantly like some friends I have
I usually have to take a lot of drugs and go to bed
I get the classic hemiplegic migraines usually. These are bad enough but the last cluster, over about five days of one a day, didn't follow the usual track and the last one woke me up. I honestly thought I was having a stroke and it was this one that left me with my pink ring doughnut. It affected my eyesight too so I went to get my eyes tsted. My optician insisted on refering me to the local hospital. So here I am two weeks later waiting to have fluores injected so they can x-ray the blood supply to the retinas.cein
wow
wonder it the migraine constricted bloodflow at some point
Last sentence all messy. Should read fluoroscein injected so they can x-ray the blood supply to the retinas. I shall turn yellow for a few days.
dealing with the eyes is scary
That is what migraines do, ru (A poem). First the blood vessels constrict and then they dilate so the blood rushes up into your brain causing the headache
The worst thing is seeing all they are doing.
do you take things for headaches?
Scary place to be Jaxx
it's so incapacitating sometimes.. I understand
I used to but now I retire hurt to my bedroom, close the curtains, and try to sleep. I have 20 mins from losing my sight and seeing pretty flowers to going numb on the opposite side to where the headache is going to be. If I can get to sleep before the numbness starts I don't need painkillers. I find I can wait until i wake to take over the counter ones.
I went out with my stepsister from Oz while in the grip of the last ones. I didn't make any sense all through the meal, just jibbered. Don't ask me what I ordered, I have no idea and eating with numb hands and fingers ain't easy either. I would have signed my life away as I am so befuddled.
As the Beegees are still singing away, can we get away from my visual idiosyncracies as it is depressing me
Come on ru, cheer me up.
sorry.. was looking at real estate
Beegees don't do much for me.
Thinking of moving?
I will be buying a new house soon... yes
They remind me of my misspent youth
my youth was overspent :D
They came originally from the Isle of man but came to live in Manchester, my home town. I have always liked their music
The remaining Beegee .. is it Robin? I read that he's somewhat of an A-hole
barry
oh. that's right
he's a bit of a jerk.. at least in some interviews I've seen
wow.. are we hogging the chat ?
I have seen interviews but never noticed that.
I forget which show he raged at and walked off the stage
Perhaps we should lie low for a while to let others chat?
good idea
I hate hogging the chat
Bye for now then.
I am off to make a birthday card.
see you later.. good luck with the doctors

It spooked me because I've never been anywhere with a tornado warning and being told to take cover.

hi stiddy! just a few odder than odd words in the grid, you'll finish in no time
hey LBD ((hugs)) long time no see -- summer being good for you?
summer is...busy working, picked a bunch of cherries and now have to pit them and then do some canning. nothing else is up yet. how's the new house?
Love our home. Things I would change (of course) if I had thought about how it would all fit together, but overall it is a big improvement over our last home (with space for at least 12-15 people comfortably inside although so far we have at most had 9).... and the yard is beginning to take shape although slower than I anticipated because Grant is working FULL TIME!!! Construction! And although he loves the money and all he is convinced he really wants to do somethings else. *proud mama look*
And I am looking for work but so far no go. If I have to, there are some additional school districts I can add to my search, but they are NOT where I really want to work, so hoping to find something at the schools I am interested in.
We'll see...
LOL and no, not unpacked yet and not likely to get there before the school year starts. Which is okay (at one level) but I would like to get through the most traumatic unpacking in the next couple weeks. I am not coping well with the boxes of things that were returned from the house.
oooh. halfway and NBT!
cool!
One box at a time, Stiddy. There are going to be memories and false recollections of things. Just take a deep breath and slowly let it out. Good luck in the job hunt. There's something out there for you! Now that you have a bit of experience under your belt.
:-) Yes, and everyone who worked with me last year is very positive about my prospects. I know I "blew" one interview, which makes me mad, but I know what I did and have some friends who will help me practice and think things through.
well, I am down to 59. Going to track down some supper and check the laundry. Hope you will have a lovely week! *poof*
