Hi there, Rose.
how are you doing
{{hugs}} miz pugs. and how's my darling girl?
hi there peach
Iam doing good but a night of up and down
off for a battery of tests then onto cardiologist. feet much less swollen today.
were you hurting, pugs? or just restless?
thats good Rose--you going for testing now?
just restless no pain no where
too late today. will try for tomorrow.
what is the testing for
May I please have a clue for co5-12? Thanks
sorry Peach but I dont have it
Thanks anyway, pug.
peach, someone who makes the sound of a dove
how are things with you Peach and hugs to you as well
sorry, pugs, don just came home again.
Thanks so much, Rose
ths Rose
testing is to check for heart failure.
Thanks, pug. I'm ok. Still have some dizziness tho.
oh no Rose---you having trouble with your heart?
do you know from what Peach
Is this just for a check-up, Rose?
swelling in feet extended up my legs, almost to my knees. if you press hard enough, a dint is left in the skin.
Pug, I have had vertigo off and on since I had the two strokes in '02.
you think some of your meds have caused this Rose
Rose, are you still wearing your hose?
I hope you get over it soon Peach
depends on the test results. it has all started with the med for my lood pressure. and yes, peach, i have my compression stockings on. ;-)
Hi all :)
Thanks, hon.
gosh, i am stick of this b key...bbb....*blood*
LIZ!!!hugs and hi
g'day liz
Hi there, Liz.
Hugs to you too, Pugs and Peach and Rose
Iam worried about you Rose
did you sleep well last night, liz?
I need to be fitted for them myself, Rose.
NO! Very disappointed! Expected to!
you have swelling as well Peach
bless you, pugs. i have don here....and he is being very attentive. i think he likes to feel needed.
Yes, I think it is from the Post Polio Syndrome.
I'm sure Don is taking very good care of you.
Don, is a good man for sure
Are you OK Peach? Did I miss out on something?
I hope the stocking helps you Peach
PEACH!!! you said that ages ago....get out there and find some. or go on-line. on-line they seem to be a lot less expensive.
Rose please let me know of the results of the test afterwards
I have to have them ordered by a doctor...in order for Medicare to pay for them
When are you seeing the cardiologist, Rose?
i will pugs. will email you as soon as i know.
Liz, why are you not resting? Something going on with you I missed out on
thanks Rose
Liz, I have very little energy and the doctors say that, too, comes from the Post Polio Syndrome.
I'm fine - just back from the gym. I emailed you pugs about what was going on here.
That's tough, Peach
haven't made the appointment yet, as i didn't have the referral. came home to it today. so will ring tomorrow.
OK
okay Liz

yep, hey did you hear anymore about your book being puplished? that's very exciting
pup??? lol pub,,,have a drink:)
Hello Kalla and Sprite...still cannot work it out? me5/18
no, nothing new, it is a matter of waiting now until they send me the drafts for the translation. Am so excited about it!
I don't have it yet, helenary, sorry.
yep thats the one I clued....
like an expensive car with another letter on the end
shortened version of the car
oh oh thank you!
thanks Kallia
your welcome
Ks killed
always find ks difficult
me too! I get them out of the way first.
I only do what I can, with out list or clues...
I like to play without list, with the occasional clue in chat, and no other outside help.
I dont have the compulsion to finish that I once had lol
hehehe :)
just a pleasant interlude with my coffee
I still like to finish. Doesn't take me too long nowadays, seems that practice pays off.
you are very good though, brilliant since English isnt your first language
I owe a lot to babble for that. The chat especially. So many things I have learned here from you all.
but I agree , I surprise myself sometimes with words that I have retained, which mean nothing to me at all !
lol yes! I can't stand words without def though, I always try to find a def somewhere.
Hi all and hugs, Sprite
Hi all and hugs, Sprite
hi Liz! *hugs* How are you and your husband?
Twice it seems!
All's good here thanks. How are things with you and yours?
I am fine and my family is well too. Peace in da house, grin. Rob and Caya are going on a canoe trip on Monday, and Tim will be away too if all goes as planned. So more peace to come ;)
Sounds good. Hubby's daughter arrives tomorrow evening for 4 days, which is good.
ah nice. I hope you'll have a grand time with her.
If her plane arrives! Horrible weather forecast for Melbourne - hope Rose rugs up warmly.
weather is being pretty crazy. We had insanely heavy rain 2 days ago. Lots of ground gone, pavement falling in, water in the basements.
Hope your house was OK.
hello ladies! We've had almost constant rain for a couple of weeks. Water downstairs, too.
It's very gloomy, doesn't feel like sumer
Hi Ruby and hugs - that sounds awful. Hope nothing was ruined.
pretty much, yes, thank God. One area near the drain pipe where it is hollow beneath the pavement now. We must get out the tiles and fill it up with sand and pave again. But it can wait. Not too much water in the crawl space beneath the house.
Good that it's not too bad then - at least you make it sound not too bad!
hi ruby. Here it comes and goes. One day crazy rain, the next way too hot. Today is kinda nice, though.
Take advantage of it.
Liz, it isn't too bad :) Nothing compared to what others in our street have.
it's funny with the fruit. I let the strawberries and raspberries rot as it was too much trouble to pick them in the rain. However, the waster-logged figs are delicious and my one pattypan squash is very productive. The tomatoes andplums, though, wil never ripen. If we ever get sun again, they will probably explode
very bad summer for tomatoes, here as well
We are lucky to be on a hillside, or we'd have serious water problems
And it's been so dry here (warm days and pretty cold nights by our standards) that the lemons on our tree aren't too good.
aw, what a shame
There are many tomatoes, several different kinds, but all still green.
I put in 10 or 11 plants ut 2 or 3 died.
That's a shame, Ruby.
since you're south of here, Liz, it's too bad we cant send the water on down lol
:(
Well, I guess, summer is our rainy season.
That's our summer of course.
But it's been so dry over the past couple of years (not that I'm complaining) that some exterior walls are showing cracks. Nothing serious though.
I remember, Liz, beach barbeque Xmas celebrations ;)
Xmas on the beach - seemed so weird, when I first got here. But not as weird as those, who celebrate Xmas in July - just so that they can have a full Xmas dinner.
yeah that is truly weird
Hotels and restaurants advertise it and it seems that there's quite a large take up for it.
I am not at all attached to Xmas.
that would be too strange for me;it was hard enough in Miami but we even had snow oneChristmas day
Actually we don't celebrate it at all but it just seems weird when I think of those who do.
Still missing 2 k words! Saw that you had them all, Sprite - well done!
thanks Liz :) Do you have 3 monarch words?
I miss the colored lights and lawn decorations in my old neighborhood in NY. TheFrench don't do that
Found them very earlier. Missing ko 5 and kr 6
They don't do that here either very much.
I hate the coloured lights. I prefer the small white ones. And no huge ornaments either.
*early
Ko5 is a bear. The Kr6 is an extension of the 5.
I know what you mean, Sprite. I don't like the garish stuff but it was nice in London seeing a bit of festivity in the streets. Here they hang a few banners from the lamp posts.
In my old neighborhood, mostly Italian and Irish and the home of "bathtub Madonna", the displays were wonderful to see as a child
How did I miss the Aussie "bear"?
lol Liz, I wondered. But then I realised: babble blindness.
And now have all k words. Thanks.
yay Liz!
lol - definitely babble blindness!
Almost time for dinner, so time to leave. 32 left for later or tomorrow but it's our first whale watch of the year tomorrow, so won't have much time.
lucky liz!
Hugs to you both :)
oh, enjoy! *hugs* to you and your husband.
loomier
whoops
I tried that too
but probably in the right place....
yeah, and no joy there either, lol
lolol I tried 'calling out the Aussie way' just for fun and it took!!
me too
I love it when something like that happens. Makes me smile.
half but no 8, singleton l or several vowels. Will come back later with, hopefully, fresh eyes.
ok ruby, have a good day, dear. The aussie sound gerund is a 8.
you're kidding! lol
*giggles* I know, right?
and the singleton L is another gerund.
duh,missed that, too
fireflies. A lovely grid today.
{{bye sprite}} enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!
have to move on. Take care, ruby, and have a nice day. *hugs*
and let's try that again!! yoohoo!! anyone here?
darn hiccup!!!
o-o, you are logged in, are you not talking, mate?
ah well...blessings on all...whether you want them or not...lolol
Last one - re 7.44 clue please
gran there are 2 re7/44
Found it and finished!
both have the gerund end, one is depend, the other is what you do with your shoe laces
WTG GRAN!!!
good morning dear friends
i'm sorry i missed your entrance, trif. how are you today?
just fine granny - how are you dear?
doing goodly, thanx. i unwittingly worked for 3 hours today instead of 2 1/2 hours. so knee is doing just fine and dandy. :-)
wow! I worked in my yard for about three hours yesterday...of course there is ALWAYS more to do, isn't there?
lol, yes, dear. i have sooo much to do...but i did get my tulip bulbs planted out a few days ago....finally. the weather has not been conducive to gardening much.
too sunny or too rainy?
too rainy, and the wind very biting.
ugh. I try to avoid direct sun, so yesterday was a good day to be out, as it was overcast
Im just at the point of wanting to napalm the whole d__n place and start again
you did wear a hat, and sleeves, yes? and sunscreen?
hat. no sleeves, no sunscreen. it was later in the afternoon, and again, overcast. our sun isn't like your aussie sun
lolol...know that feeling well...or let himself loose with a line-trimmer...
himself around here is....well, me.
oh, good. yes our aussie sun can be lethal, in the fullest meaning of the word. i am constantly checking out the spots on my skin. as a child, my mother poured oil on us to promote a 'healthy' suntan.
my valentine WILL mow, but last time he took down my day lilies (thought it was "big grass") so his privileges have been suspended, lol
me as well, granny, and I am a red head, so NO amount of sun exposure is safe.
oh, dear....*exploding into laughter *
the poor man...I didn't even tell him. he was honestly trying to help
exactly himself's idea of gardening. anything above ankle height should be leveled using whatever means possible. * sigh *
yes. He doesn't "get" gardening - he says he can't figure out why women are so addicted to it. I told him I think its because we are caring nurturers, and genetically predisposed to bring forth life and provide sustenance. THAT kept him quiet.
i hit on the idea...i ' bordered ' all the garden areas and told himself, go over those borders, don't bother coming back inside the house...
Good morning, just here for a few minutes until I have to rush off
very deft, granny!
good morning sukee
lolol, trif...he will probably mull that over until the end of his days...
go for it, sukee, dear. enjoy!!
I had a well replaced last year, and used the opportunity to make a garden in my front yard, which I always wanted. I bordered it with many of the rocks that the well dig coughed up. To be honest, they are rather fiddly now, and a right bitch to mow around....
good morning everyone:)
trif, the other reason is we can consign our failures to the compost heap, and start again...
good morning crossy!
hi crossy
and helloooo crossy
I take garden failures quite personally, granny :)
lol, crossy's harem is here and awaiting their master's desire....
trif, failures in my usual line of work require a coroner's inquest. garden failures don't faze me that much...lololol
lol.
wow...granny....did you eat today, honey? Crossy's harem!!!
* waves to crossy *
I tired a harem once. Did not work:)
((rose))
roflolol
ahhh, but the STORIES, crossy!
crossy if they were tired, probably why they wouldn't work...
as dear Elaine Stritch used to say about hookers "it's not the work, it's the stairs"
mind you...a tired harem...because of crossy....oh my!!
lol, women are like a rare and mysterious concentrate. One at a time should be enough for any man.
*passes crossy a fan to reduce his very red face*
I thought that, too, when I saw the typo, rose. Ah, yes, a tired harem....but what blissful fatigue!
((crossy))
sadly, not enough men think like you, crossy
((mimi))
lololol, hello mimi. lovely to see you dear
good morning mimi!
I must have been extremely fortunate....many men in my life and most were wonderful.
((rose))
Hi, Trif!!
I asked the beloved once about this very topic. it was around our tenth year of wedded bliss. I said something along the lines of another willing participant to add 'spice" to the mix. She said that if I did that she would leave me for the other woman and they would both go after alimony!!. so that ended that experement right then and there!
Only 4 am here and I am up yet again...this is becoming a habit.
wow, crossy. bummer.
Knew I liked your beloved!
i keep teasing valentine that for his next "big" birthday I am going to get us a hotel room and a couple of willing participant friends....figure that will keep him around for at least a few more years, to see if I am serious or not :)
oh, dear, crossy...lolol...your beloved had it in one...good for her.
lol
naughty trif...i love the way you think, hun.
(((( I seriously cannot BELIEVE I just wrote that in the chog...oversharing FAIL))))
mimi...4am??? you poor love.
The multiple partners theme seems to usually include one man, more than one woman.....I wonder if these same men would be as enthusiastic about one woman and several men....those are odds I like much better.
not to worry, trif. i took a screen shot of it for you and will make a Jigidi puzzle out of it, so everyone can see it forever!
Funny, crossy....poor Trif. It's OK, dear...you're among friends.
I could overshare some of my actual experiences and make everyone blush!
better save it for your novel. mimi:)
Yep...all will be there, crossy.
I can see it now, her novel will have to be shrink-wrapped and placed on the top shelf with warning stickers on the package
But remember it isn't a novel...it's an autobiography. Going to let it all hang out there.
Oh! I know the answer to that one, mimi! A friend of mine had that EXACT scenario happen, and he figured, oh what the heck, when is this chance ever going to happen again, and went with it. But he fully admits, it was NOT the ratio he would have prefered.
sorry, her autobiography:)
Trif, I think that generally men's egos are a bit too fragile to handle that situation. Not to shock anyone, but I have actually NEVER had a threesome in any combination...really. Just hasn't ever been something I'm interested in. I like to concentrate on one man entirely...much more satisfying.
hmmm. not a threesome, eh? I notice you arent' ruling out OTHER number combinations...hahahahha
Within that scenario, however, I have been, shall we say...prolific.
mimi...an autobiography...perhaps letting it all 'hang' out might be better suggested by revealed...nope...that sounds no better.
Funny, Trif.
mimi, you should read "a round heeled woman" - it is so great.
Well, at this point in life, rose, it's all hanging out anyway.
lolol, mimi...mine all hangs down south..
Yep...gravity is no longer my friend, rose.
oh hey - poor car.eeyore broke her toe yesterday, so I am doing driving duty for our mom today. Everyone send her good wishes, please?
I once thought I should start walking on my hands so I'd have great boobs and no hips.
that's why old ladies knickers get so voluminous...they have more to tuck into them.
god almighty, thanks for THAT unshakable visual, granny
Poor car....I did not know you were sisters, Trif! Hugs to her.
oh, trif....so painful...please tell her how sorry i am to hear that.
yes we are. Also kadresa, but she hasn't been on here in an age, and aknitter is our cousin
poor car. i have broken several toes over the years and there is nothing for it but to just grind and bear it and suck it up till it heals. That and copious amounts of vodka and and wearing sandals for 6 weeks
I agree crossy, have broken four or five myself, I have lost count....
lolol, trif
cant vouch for the vodka, but I can vouch for the painful
at least it is summer time. she can wear nice open toed sandals.
I broke toes once, tripped over my own shoes in the bathroom :) Never saw about them but to this day they are very sensitive.
I haven't broken fingers or toes but did break my left wrist a few years ago.......the most pain I have EVER had and that's saying something. Kept nearly passing out on the way to the hospital.
poor mimi! how many times do we have to tell you? BOTH HANDS on the pole!
Anyway, have to run. Be back later.
ROFL!!!
Hi and bye, sukee!
with purple toes and nails??? crossy are you nuts?? poor car would probably cringe at the thought...
i have parathesia in my feet and hands. i am constantly discovering a toe/finger nail gone purple, and trying to grow out.
car is one of my family, so I can tell you = she will milk this like a cow at a dairy. it's how we do :)
Going to get an early start on work so I can have the rest of the day for other endeavors. Good Wed. and hugs all around.
I had my tonsils out as an adult, and turned it into a full week in bed. Was the ONLY way I was going to get any rest, with so many little ones at home
take care, mimi dear
enjoy your day, dearest mimi
....and we have reached the exciting point in the grid where I enter the same words over and over, hoping this time enable will magically take them
*giggle* trif....how can i help you? or shall i just fade away?
its okay, granny....i feel quite sure I am not alone in that regard
i have to get ready to go get mum anyway....
with that, i am outta here. have had my meds and feeling nice and sleepy. xoxox to you all, hope you all have the perfect day..
Hi folks, home after vacation. Having trouble focusing on this grid
howdy, bichon
wow . . . per this grid, all the world's not a stage . . . it's a gerund! LOL
hello, all :-)
Hi Bich, you were missed
howdy, une
Hi Molly, crossy, Une Had a great grandparent/grandchild trip in the high Sierras
ooohhh, sounds terrific! :-)
Sounds like a great trip Bich. What a pretty place to spend time with the grands.
It was fabulous, so many out door activities. We stayed in the Sierra Club Lodge
what wonderful memories for you AND for them :-)
What a great vacation to take kids on. Beats standing in line at Disneyworld.
25 to go . . . back in a bit
It was utterly non-commercial. Just plain out doors fun
clues for the co 8's
the second one
nm got them
coying
Good morning, all!
*scans with binoculars* Hmm. All the animals are hiding in the underbrush.
Hi Judi
Ah! Signs of life. Hi, Molly.
Is it as drop dead gorgeous there as it is here?
It is faaaaabulous here. Of course, I'm not enjoying it as I am in my office.
It's paybacks for all that crappy weather this winter.
This is the day we've been hoping for all summer. May it only last
I feel bad for my husband. He had to schlep to DC today to run a training session. Traffic and office entrapment. Hope he gets a lunch break.
Wish I could work from home. I'd be on my deck right now.
Yesterday was quite fab as well. We've had a handful of low humidity days lately. Blessed relief from the mugliness of our normal summer.
It's nice to get fresh air in the house.
Yes. Although the pollen is not so nice.
Name that proper noun: Lennon's wife.
Yoko
Number 9...Number 9
Ding! Ding! Ding! Dear God, that woman is annoying.
I think for some people (like her) the mission in life is to be as kooky as possible.
Well, she is a living freak show. That's for sure.

Hi Owl
What was the result of the eye test on tuesday jaxx?
Owl, How is your toe?
it is better, annie, ty.
glad to hear that, Owl
this is one howling grid, isn't it?
Yes, it's work
it rots!
all those ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
haha
see now, yesteday we would have had to send you to the pb for saying that.
true
A lot of bruises where they couldn't get the canula in. There were three nurses and technicians and each tried and finally the nurse managed it. I now have four huge bruises, 3 on the right and 1 on the left, am turning a lovely shade of yellow and don't feel too grand to be honest.
Oh, poor Jaxx.
my word, what test is that?
fast healing, jaxx!
A retinal scan
vein problems?
i believe i had that and it was not invasive, i have RP
begging for y word clues :-)
They all get together on Friday to discuss the case and then I will know the worst. Mind you, the pink doughnut caused much merriment but it has now gone yellow.
Small wiggly veins apparently
i do hope you heal quickly.
oh my, you ARE talking about your arms I hope?
poor jaxx:(. reminds me of my last CT scan; after much effort and many botched attempts the tech had what she thought was a good vein, but when she started pumping the contrast material in, it turned out that she missed totally and my poor arm felt like it was on fire and I ended up with a big lump under my skin that they had to throw ice packs over top of
yes
Small wiggly veins are the worst.
I have the start of cataracts and the pink doughnut right in the centre of the field of view.
seems of late these young techs cannot find a vein to save their lives!
sorry to hear. i had one cataract removed this spring and the other is pendinf
it's an acquired skill, Crossy.
Takes time to master.
I am sure it is. My tech finally gave up and called in an older nurse
I have the 3 from the 4th row y, do you need those?
I have a yellow patch where the syringe containing the dye slipped back as she was injecting it. I am truly technicoloured
i have had nurses get p o ed at me as if i were to blame for small veins that roll.
Sorry jaxx, away for a mo. Have seen your response now. Wish you luck for Friday
yo4/7 my bbby, yo4/7 my pet, i fell in love on the night we met
poor technicolour jaxx;((
Jaxx you always were a colorful character.
i have only one from the 3rd column....the ye 4/6
ye4/6 second, days, months, ye4/6
tartan jaxx:)
I have a phobia of canulas since the chemo. Some nurses were great, but there was one I refused to let touch me again!
yo 6 yo + royal person.
Thanks. I don't mind as long as they find something treatable.
More polka dot
Good for you Chrissie.
days of yo4/6 a long time ago
do not remind me of the ones they use for chemo, chrissie, I swear those things have the same bore as a garden hose!
thanks sue!

Any mechanics in the house? My car is sick...
4th
what are the symptoms, jes?
are all the c words co and cu?
probably head gasket... got a quote for repair, trying to decide if it's worth it to put that much money in or if I should be trying to replace the car.
cy 4/8
Expensive repair
symptoms include multiple major misfire, water in cylinder, etc... fun fun.
thanks, Annie
1 cr and 2 cy
what milage is on the vehicle now?
yeah, he said $1700.
just replaced my car at one of those junctures..needed new suspension...got an Acura RDX now which I love!!
Car is a 1997 escort with something over 200,000 miles - for which I paid $3000 over a decade ago.
As my da says, the car doesn't owe me anything anymore :D
nope. do not
Our car blew up today when Nigel was taking Ashley Carp fishing. £400 estimate. Hose and a valve problem but don't ask which one.
wow! got tons of value out of that!
time for a new horse, jes
however, finding a replacement ... I DESPISE car shopping. And finding something that is good for hauling passengers, dogs, and random gear (fencing supplies, saddles) while also getting great mileage (she's reliably over 30 mpg!), preferably in a manual transmission...
it must be a bad car week. someone hit me in a parking lot and bashed in my door.
that car doesn't exist.
probably about $2000
the perfect car never exists. there are always compromises
I had a 15 year old Escort which was washed away by super storm Sandy. That old horse would have lasted another 4 or 5 years.
what you need jes is a quad cab pick-up truck to haul critters and supplies
too bad Annie.
but that's a lot of money for a 1997 car
what did you buy Annie?
Ah, they don't make 'em like they used to. sigh!
sure, but that'd drop my mileage something awful, crossy
yes, it would
I leased a Honda Civic. Needed a car immediately. I didnt have time to shop. I like the car.
i gave up on getting good mileage since I don't drive all that much and opted for a quiet, smooth drive where I could still haul stuff
if you want to haul fencing, saddles and dogs, you will not be happy with a tiny car
Had a civic. it was a great car!
that's why i've had a station wagon, for the space options.
it was not tiny.
A van would be great, but...mileage again.
escort is not full sized
hybrid?
yup, you will give up mileage for size
yeah, the escort wagon's smaller than the subaru wagons, but it's big enough to haul a mastiff, and that's good enough :)
perhaps one of those euro style diesel vans they are making now...
then you get room, mileage and durability
Yeah, I wonder if I can find a volkswagon wagon...
they are very popular with the contractors
no subaru?
i'm not opposed to subaru - but they're expensive...
hey, jess, have you seen this yet?http://tinyurl.com/mto9h5x

Are you unwell TO?
a bit under the weather.
eating on a daily basis is usually good idea
just do not have any appetite today. bad stomach and too much heartache
the soup will be nice on your stomach - but heartache?
Yes, you should try and eat something that takes your fancy
Only cuddles work for heartache
good friends and family will do in a pinch though
True, especially if they come with hugs. My mum used to give good hugs
so, off to chinese takeout i go! ty all, and happy babbling.

stick a vowel on the end of the co6/24, marc
It's good, sue. Just a few little things left to finish. Managed to open (but not unpack) about 14 boxes from the fire yesterday... it was good to make progress.
wow, that is a lot of boxes! We still have some from our move over a year ago.

don't have the co6/24
I have about 20 to go from the fire, and then half a storage locker of things that were in there before the fire... and then I will be truly moved in.

Does anyone look forward to chemo, Sue?
