hi flosey
Flosey, my daughter is heading up your way....
pr 7 x 3
ro 7
really, River, when?
thanks Saan, came in late and can use all the help I can get
she flew out today - meeting her photo friends in Vancouver and then they are camping on Newcastle Island for 10 days. 48 talented kids meeting up - all smart, talented photographers
it's a strange one tonight. But I am tired though, stayed up too late!
she left Saturday from home, drove to NY to meet up with a friend and they are flying out together
would be interesting to meet her, River - I'm not aware of Newcastle Island, would have to look it up
if you remember I hosted 24 of them here last August for a week. What an incredible experience. I am jealous of her.....lol! I love each and every one of those kids - the ones I met anyway and most of them are making this trip.
i'm bummed that outrear isn't a word
I guess it is about an hour from the city. There are so many of them going, no one host can support them all so this camp ground has large group sites. The kids that live there or driving in are bringing the tents. She packed her sleeping bag and pillow - space savers bags are awesome!
he 7
River, can't find it in the Atlas, - an hour from what city, Vancouver?
yes
she is flying into Vancouver, staying their one night at a friends and then they leave for the island.
I just googled it, Flosey. It's near Nanaimo.
I'll ask around, hubby was born, raised here on Salt Spring Island,
ah, thanks Liz - I'll check it out
Nanaimo had coal mines, I guess that's why the Island is called Newcastle
yw
Newcastle Island is a provincial park located on a small island off the coast of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada.
I just know Nanaimo for the ferry terminal.
I'd be glad to put her up for a night or 2 if she has the time to come down here, we could show her around
when is she coming? I'm going to Toronto 27th
That is so kind but I think she has a full schedule. They have daily photo shoots planned. I wanted to go with her but I got a firm NO. I have a friend on another work game that lives in Vancouver that offered me her home. But Sarah needs this first big trip away on her own. I understand.
*word
of course, hope she has a wonderful time, it is beautiful country
She was first very nervous about flying that far on her own is why I offerred to go. I got the "look"......lol!
I remember that LOOK, River
that is why she drove 7 hours to a friends in NY so they could fly out together
that look never leaves her face.....
raised 2 girls
let me tell you, my son is so much easier.....no LOOK from him
and he listens and doesn't say NO - what a concept!
raised 2 sons as well, easier I think - but all so rewarding
yes it is.....love them both so much - even with the LOOk, would not trade her in. She really is a great kid!
21 and going strong....
One of these days I will make it out your way. Have never been further west than Chicago. About time I think!
mine are all in 40s
well I did start later in life.....so mine are 17 and 21.
oops!! oldest just turned 51 !! how time flies
oh my.....it sure does!
I started late as well, River, was 31 when he was born
I will be 57 next month.....cant be possible. Laughing lately as just got the invite for my 40th high school class reunion....no way!
had mine at 35 and 39.
that is odd for our generation Flosey. My high school friends have grandchildren my kids ages
going back to TO for a reunion of Cousins - we're it! no one left from prior generation
I must get to bed - have to get up for work in 4 hours. Had a long nap this afternoon after my injection so took some time to wear myself out again on here. Hope it works.
that will be nice
nice chatting, River, sweet sleep
we had friends in for dinner tonight and a few hands of bridge
thanks - good night to you too!
Sleep well River
love to play bridge....havent done that in years now since my bestie passed away. Was always on of my favorite card games.
happy babbling everyone!
we play usually a couple times a week
going to get ready for bed, bbs
Sleep well Flosey

Oh my. Just woken up to the news that Robin Williams died. How dreadfully sad. RIP 😥
Soodle, it's a sad morning indeed.
cooee and g'day from me
hello. My computer has ebola and I;m using my husband's
My head is exploding
g'day ruby. how is himself? got over his fall?
??? your head is exploding?? why?
can't use my computer and will problably have to send it to hospital
techie friend, diagnosing over the phone, thinks it has a nasty virus
*giggle*
ugh, ruby. what a shame!!
my whole life is in there
have you back-up of your 'stuff'?
no
oh, dear. hopefully the tech will be able to save most of it for you.
do you lose stuff when you get avirus?
depends on the virus
good morning all
and husband, getting ver his fall, has decided that his life isn"t worth living
hi sprite
hey ya sprite. {{hugs}} and kisses
I am typing with one hand on Burt's computer
hi ruby *hugs* Computer viruses can do everything from erasing your hard disk to 'just' freezing up your puter for a few secs. But usually, a good computer techie can save your stuff.
*hugs rose* Great news, sweetie. Am happy as can be here about it.
yeah it is * grin *
what news rosie?
i did email you too, ruby. cardiologist says i have a heart.
she may not be able to read the mail, rose, on another puter
lolol...the problems i am having are due to my new blood pressure med. he has stopped it, and started me on a new one.
no, I can't get my mail
have to go
ya know, I never doubted your heart at all. It is strong, loving, warm and wonderful.
bye ruby
ruby, just log into your email service. it doesn't matter which computer you are on.
Ks killed
*giggle* good for you sprite.
I knew you had a heart, rosie, and a huge one!
*smug* I am so kood at ks.
make that *smuk*
loves ya both. awwww thanx
You don;t mean schmuck, do you sprite? lol
core
roflol, nooooo I didn't!
sorry
for someone who has to go you are stil pretty much present, ruby :) Our luck, that.
I ran downstairs, having heard voices, but they wqere in the street
ah, good :)
phantoms: aeon and paeon. Keep seeing them.
rose, are you a little less stressed now? Able to relax a bit and find peace in the moment?
my scottish friends from up the road are coming by and will look at my sick computer
hopefully. have first financial adviser appointment tomorrow.
ah that is good, ruby
Hello everyone :-)
good, rose. You will know more after that. Step by step. *hugs*
she isn engineer, has worked with cimputers forever
hiya zooz! *hugs*
g'day zooz
chimputers maybe? Those that monkey in babble all automatically?
hi zoozz
Ruby, do you not have anti-virus software installed on your computer?
LOL, Sprite
I thought I did
which windows version are you using, ruby?
If so..Ask your friend to start the sick computer up in safe mode and run the anti-virus software.
I think it's xp
hopefully, she''ll know what to do. Husband's chair is so low that I can barely reach the keyboard
there might be your problem. XP is no longer supported by microsoft, which means security issues are no longer fixed and just AV won't cut it anymore. You may need to upgrade.
Very good point, Sprite!
thanks, zooz ;)
I had better get ready for the neighbors
*woof*
I hope they can help you, ruby
Good luck, Ruby. Hope they can help you.
thank you
Snap, sprite lol
hehehe :D
I didn't need another problem today, that's for sure
ask her to teach you how to make backups too, ruby. You just cannot have your whole life on one computer. It is bound to explode at some point.
I have mine backing up to the cloud.
that is the best thing
Just a couple of days ago my email service provider emailed me someone in China tried to use one of my email accounts. So I had to change the password.
how odd
so... if we can have inertion, why not ertion?
Strange people out there. Why would anyone try and use my email account.
Because it is Enable :-)
I have no flippin' idea. It sounds pretty weird. You are sure the message was from your provider and not a phishing mail?
true, dat. Good point.
Well I checked the source page and it looked pretty genuine to me.
so they can send a fake email to all your contacts saying that your wallet has been lost while you are in Australia and if they could just send you some money ASAP you promise to pay it back home! Happens all the time. Hello all
roflol indeed. Hiya lyn :) xxx
g'day lyn
Hello, Lynxxx. Crikes I am getting worried now. will have to go and re check.
please do. Phone your provider and ask about the email. It might be all ok, zooz.
Well there is only four people in my email address book so that would be funny. And all but one are babble friends. So just to let you know. My passport expired years ago and it would be a miracle if I was abroad :-)
hehehe we trust you to let us know if you traveled anywhere abroad... we might meet up then :)
Do you all still need passports with the European Union now?
not for all borders, lyn, but still for matters of identification, yes
Sorry was trying to find a number for the email service provider...The same here in the UK as what, Sprite said, Lynxxx.
May I have the stats for the lone i please?
ic5.12
ic5/12, zooz
or what lyn says
Thank you both :-)
yvw :)
did we lose our rose in the computer talk?
I think so :-(
come back here rose, we are done. Just waiting for zooz to give us the good news the email was genuine.
*just sitting here with my eyes glazed over*
*giggles* And still so pretty.
there was a report in the news a few days ago, about a big ring of hackers in russia. apparently they have hacked into some pretty ig companies.
it is human nature, I fear. The more something is protected, the more some people want to get in. And some people love the power of messing up other people's lives, alas.
*big* this b key is still giving me grief
lol here, you can borrow mine: bbbbbbbbb
now sprite, no need to blubber.....
good thing I borrowed you some Bs. Or you would have written luer and who would have understood you then, hah?
you would of course.....sister of my soul. you understand me perfectly.
*hugs rose* And vice versa.
brb, going to put some heat rub on don's neck and shoulder.
sure sure, call it that if you like. We'll see you in an hour or so...
naughty sprite, he doesn't need any more ideas
:D
Oh for goodness sake.Only now have I found the IC5/12 and such an easy word.
a fish, zooz, grin. Don't feel bad. Babble blindness is as common as enable stupidity.
LOL
and vowel words are never easy, even when they are.
I struggle very much with the AE words.
brb
although I do have two of them so far!
Bye for now.
back. Sorry, had to help my girl. Her favorite band is coming to the netherlands and she wanted tickets.
A band we should know?

either a newbie who doesn't read chat, or a troll, rose. welcome back and that was a quickie
yeah, a speed hump, you might say...lolol
hahahaha :D
oh yeah, that weird oc. I always expect it to end in a y.
last post got lost, let's try it again
that was the hiccup
watching a lot of stuff on tv about robin williams. such a tragic loss.
what happened?
oh, sprite, he committed suicide
he has been battling depression for over 30 years.
oh my god. Oh that is so sad. Such a talented actor and... so special.
yeah, you could tell from his eyes.
thta is so sad, rose. Am so sorry. Such a blow for his family and friends.
the whole world is going to reel from shock.
makes me sad
he was only 63, sprite. that's just 1 ye4 older than i am.
how alone someone can be, even when surrounded by loving family and friends, and adored by half the world.
yeah, a spring chicken still
lolol, rubber chicken more like.
*grin* you? Never.
i think axmama saw the messages. i had one on the other night, wanted me to write the words in chat, so that they could copy them. it was on a genuine babble profile, but i am guessing it was actually one of her kids. it was really sweet actually.
lol, you are so nice, rose. I am afraid my patience for children on babble is limited nowadays.
not surprising sprite, considering what you are putting up with these days.
like right now, I am miffed because lyn left, as a result. I like Lyn. I like spending babble time with her.
yeah, lyn is good value.
well, water under the bridge. If it was just an honest mistake, I don't mind that much. We all make mistakes.
rose, the P has me stumped. The upper P. Could you please clue me the second Pr7/32?
pr7, before + public disturbance
of course. Jeezz. Thanks rose!

lol, I just typed in 'retour' about 5 times, so certain was I that it had to be valid and I must have typo'ed it. But our word retour comes from the french and not the english, of course.

WTG SPRITE!!!!
lol thank you, thank you. It was a fun grid for me.
i enjoyed it, as i usually do. it's a game of words, what mor can i say?
*sigh* more
Good morning all
g'day sukee
hi sukee :)
I enjoy them all. Even the nasties. I think the only grids I don't like much are the tiny and easy ones. Like having to find 25 words and being done before you start. But those are very rare.
and for that we are truely grateful....amen
lol I finally found a way to enjoy keeping babble open after finishin
you know, normally, I would keep on entering words, and looking for them, even after fireworks. So stupid.
but now I open sudoku next to it, two windows open, works fine
yeah, i do that all the time. so, tell me, what is happening in your house today?
rob is moody as hell. Even had a fight day before yesterday, which is rare for us. But Tim is behaving beautifully, helpful and all. Caya is a happy girl, just scored tickets to her favorite band.
Te5 is happily sleeping at my feet. And I am babbling and sudokuing with my friend rose, so right now, I am happy.
and you, rose? Is your financial appt the only thing for tomorrow?
what's up with rob?
outside of the house, yes. i am going to make an attempt to clean the bathroom, some thing i normally do on the weekend.
irritated that I don't do enough around the house. Telling me off for wanting a tiny bite just before dinner time (because my stomach was so empty it made me feel nauseated). Being passive/aggressive in a major way.
do it in stages, rose. It really helps. However silly it feels to stop and sit down and read for a bit. But it truly makes a difference for our poor bodies.
good morning everyone:)
Hi crossy
crossy! *hugs* And my love for Elegant as well
howdy sukee, ((sprite)), rose :)
g'day crossy
Elegant is still abed getting her beauty sleep:)
good :) Sleeping is such a nice hobby
ugh, i have tried to go without my 2pm paracetamol and ibuprofen. if i ever do it again, you have my permission to slap me silly with wet tissue paper.
*hits rose over the head with a guppy* You twit. What on earth for. Paracetamol is pretty much harmless, and ibuprofen isn't too bad either if your stomach can handle it. Don't do this to yourself. It is automutilation, my psychiatrist would say.
silly rose...
i wanted to see if i could go without them. i have been on them for over 2 ye4s.
ok, now you know. Don't do it again. At some point you are gonna have to accept you found an equilibrium and sustain it.
Didn't I just type all the words...yesterday?
yeah, but it's good to know what it is like without the meds.
it is like dusting, thaab, lol
g'day haab...yup, you did...strange that
I say that same thing every morning when I open up my manuscript godthaab:)
*hits rose again, now with a tr5* Will you listen, for crying out loud? Lolol. Watch it or the next one will be with a rotten salmon!
We are caught up in some weird space-time continuum!
oh crossy, that reminds me. I went to your book on that website. Do you really want pointers and advice? I'd hate to say something that hurt your feelings.
lol, crossy...poor you....you've started repeating yourself....you know what that is a sign of, don't you?
oh dear, it is Groundhog Babble Day!
I knew what it is a sign of, but I have since forgotten
forgotten what? :)
yes, sprite, there is a comment section there, please feel free to rip it to shreds. that is what that rough excerpt is there for
sprite, it constantly amuses me to find the same words the next day, words i missed the first run through in yesterday's grid.
oh, crossy, check this one out (hold on, must find the link)
http://tinyurl.com/ow3mfsw
What I posted there, sprite is merely brief unvarnished snapshot of the whole, it is god that you tear it down
good*
ahhhh, alzheimer's...a marvellous disorder....you are always meeting new people, reading new books....and i forget what the third thing is. ( apologies to any babbler who is hurt by this comment)
ok crossy, will leave a comment there then. I don't want to tear anything down, just may have some pointers to make it more readable.
is crossy's book on his website?
yes, rose and godthaab, someone told me at some point that the tiles aren't totally randomly picked. There is a kind of series to it. I didn't believe it at first, but it is true.
aw rose, we may hope that all babblers have a sense of humour. You don't mock the disease or the people suffering from it. Just winking at our own forgetfulness.
How are they picked?
ooohhh, have just found it....will read later...and give you my honest opinion, crossy
lol@ maixing up Rgaine and viagra: you get hair that is too stiff to comb!! lol
rogaine
I don't know exactly, thaab. It seems like it takes last day's tiles, changes a certain percentage, shakes them around, then checks if the result is a grid with at least (I think) 20 words.
priceless vid, isn't it crossy? My favorite part is where he says to the doctor: what problem, and who the hell are you?
Interesting......
ro 8/45 clue please
ahhh, such sweet relief. don has just peeled my compression socks off. * wriggling toes ecstatically*
stripclub grannyrose, for all your footfetish needs
though that is not my problem with those little blue pills, sprite. it says up to 8 hours in the instructions on the side of the box. What I want to know is exactly what the heck do I do with the other 7 hours and 55 minutes? Hang laundry?? lol
ro8, decay + twitter letters for you are + 2 vowels + first letter of my name

hey you all in the US of A, what's happening re robin williams' death?
they say he killed himself
On TV this morning, they mentioned alcohol and drugs
there will be an autopsy later this week, rose
he had gotten out of rehab of some kind about a month ago
how are his family, mlf?
Damn shame, I really liked him
WHAT???
he was a drug user, alcoholic and had problems with depression
annie so many did
annie, so with you. he had to be one of the best entertainers i have ever known.
Yes, such a loss. It's sad that often the price of genius is a tortured soul.
it was mentioned yesterday online my husband informed me of it
he's battled addiction for a long time
ibd yes and depression
hello again. My computer is sorted out! Yay
he has battled depression for over 30 ye4s
congrats ruby would you like to come over here and fix ours now?:)
Wife and i were in total shock when we heard about his death yesterday!
granny at least
oh, lovely, ruby. xoxox to you darling
((ruby))
many comedians battle depression
cross so was i
annie sad but true
He was scheduled to do a sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire soon...loved that movie.
jonathan winters battled depression for years, another comic genius
it was almost like hearing of a death of a close friend who you thought was healthy and doing ok
..and a good friend of Robin's, too...odd coincidence.
he was amazing. so intelligent, so funny, so quick. he was an amazing person.
I remember those two in Mork and Mindy
annie i loved him and he was also on mork and mindy tv show with robin williams of course
as do i, crossy
snap
AOL had a message from his wife, She said the family is heartbroken
cross especially since he had just gotten out of rehab of some kind. i think it had something to do with depression
I always imagined that is brain must be a great place to visit but not sure I'd want to live there.
mimi yeah no kidding
did anybody see him in Jacob the Liar? and Good Will Hunting?
my heart goes out to his family....they will always be asking ' what if ' ?
i saw good will hunting in the movie theaters and on tv what a fabulous film
I saw him in Good Will Hunting.
yes, ruby, i did, at least in good will hunting.
I say that about myself but it seemed doubly true with him. With all the tools we have now for this sort of thing, I don't understand why he couldn't be helped....especially since he had money.
sad he had just worked with pam dawber on his now canceled sitcom
One of my absolute favorites was Dead Poets Society.
great film too mimi
And, of course, Good Morning Vietnam...astounding.
mimi i think he had too many problems going on at once
I forgot about Dead Poets.
sigh.. sometimes when we remove someones crutch for their own good, we do not replace it with something strong enough.
mimi yes another fantastic movie good will hunting
ohhh, mimi. yes, dear. dead poets society...it was an incredible film. i cried in the final scenes.
He and Philip Seymour Hoffman in such a short time.
Good Morning Vietnam!!! Great, he was just great.
What Dreams May Come
what did hoffman die of?
anyone ever hear the song "send in the clowns"
heroin overdose
overdose
what dreams may come, was a strange movie.
yes, sue
thats right
sue i love that song
Yes, I'm sure, but there's a way to sort them out and deal with them one by one. You are so right, though, crossy. I have some experience in this area, you know, and wish more people knew about SMART recovery as an alternative to AA/NA...they actually do provide "tools" to replace the crutch.
I think overdose of heroine
oh, good heavens...good morning vietnam is one of my all time favourites. he was so incredible. and what about aladdin? where the illustrators had to re-draw the character because of his genius at adlibbing.
I am going to get Good Morning Vietnam from Netflix and view it again, also Dead Poets. Terrible loss.
It seems many times that people who are given either great genius or great success/wealth that tragedy ultimately appears in equal measure.
something must have happened to him mentally and emotionally to make him end his life. i dont know if he was taking meds for his depression or not
mimi yes so often the case
Mimi, What does SMART stand for?
I frankly would want to stay as far away from the Kennedys as possible!
Self-Management and Recovery Training. It's based on cognitive behavior theory. I'm going to do the facilitator training next year and hold my own meetings.
brb
you know what is truly tragic? robin will never know how many millions of people's lives he touched.
that is so great mimi!
i have ap 7 ending in a c can anyone clue me the other one please i know the stats already?
I'm glad AA/NA works for many people but I totally reject the premise it's based on....we are NOT powerless in this situation!
all the laughs for everyone else with none left over for him:(
granny when you have had as many problems as he did that doesnt matter.
Well said, crossy.
He was on his third marriage...that's rough all by itself.
mimi i didnt realize that?
mlf, i know. i have several friends and close acquaintances who suffer from clinical depression. it is so hard to support them other than tell them i am with them every step of the way.
mlf, ap7, fruit like a peach??
granny depression sometimes is a disease those who have it need to deal with it themselves its just that they dont
ty for the fruit rose
ty granny
The approach I've used in counseling is to validate the feelings while diverting attention to coping skills that make sense. There is a lot of technique available for therapists if they just stay open and adjust therapy to the individual.
mlf, not don't, can't dear. my friends have explained to me...depression totally removes the motivation to deal with anything.
granny that is true and when it starts to effect you physically that is when you really get in trouble
thanks for the explanation of "smart" mimi
Yes, it does, rose, but there is usually some small motivation internally that can be tapped into if it can be found...takes a lot of "wading through" much emotional baggage but once you get there, it's amazing the renewal of spirit and strength that can happen.
exactly, mlf...it is very difficult for a 'healthy' person to deal with...imagine how hard it is for someone who is not well?
Welcome, Annie...really like sharing that info since I believe in it so much. It's all available online, btw.
that is quite scary isnt it granny
I havent seen ivesy for a while. Her son is struggling with addiction.
I've been to that dark place myself on two occasions but someone was fortunate to find my way out.
mimi...i he4 you dear...but burrowing down to find that motivation in some people is just too hard to do.
he7 the drug is not accepted?
in the grid
True, rose...and no matter how much love and help others give, you ultimately must find that small hope within yourself and let it lift you up...some cannot and that is simply the way of things sometimes.
hi all

oh geesh - a bird just SLAMMED into the window...poor guy

We are NOT having happy animal times today
Bye Dawg
Uh oh. Time for bird rescue.
I need a rescue too
*sends carrier pigeon with tiny first aid kit*
Hah! Fool's gold is in the grid...fun!
seems like today you should send a pa6 instead of a pigeon
bird does not need rescue, sadly. Bird needs a hole and a few kind words.
TY JosephJames....didn't have that one
Oh dear....
I guess I need better stickers on the plate glass
Oh, bummer.
Trif...I need to bring Archer over for a run around before his daycare evaluation....
i read that a number of birds die at large solar panel facilities - get roasted - they are trying to figure out how to fix this problem
absolutely! Come on over, sweetheart. GREAT idea! A tired pup is a compliant pup
this seems like a hard puzzle
Its a bugger
Calling to set up eval time...please hold....
does anyone know if we have to find any words that start with ph?
No ph words, JJ.
none Joseph
oh good
oh i just found a nice fruit, ap7
Eval is tomorrow at 10:00...and of course it supposed to be raining. Ugh.
Oh well...will drop off mom, bring him over to run, and then dry him off and up we will go
There is a TR 6/21 that is similar to that fruit...I believe it is a fabric
Probably so Car, it's pouring here at the moment.
Lovely candle, Molly
Thanks, sad reason though.

Hi kids.

Babble Expert disappeared from my laptop.

Hi Trif, bittersweet time for you
Rurtic should be the name of a porn studio
it is indeed. So happy, and so sad.
Trying to find that myself
Same as the fruit, but jumble the end
mind you - that girl is a SLOB!!! Was just thinking yesterday how much easier this place will be to keep up, now that the "trail leaver" will be gone.

Oh, you meant the hy7 is a baryon
We all need a hadron collider in our back yards:)

molly ohh
I must say my nephews married very "interesting" women
and not in a good way
My fault, people say "thank you" and I assume the clue given was correct
peri i feel the same way about my sis in laws lol
"Interesting" is often use in a "not good way" Like "breathtaking" on Seinfeld : D
not always molly
*used
molly i still dont know what he te 6/24 is?
interesting is in a good way. "interesting" is not in a good way.
I probably should have said odd instead of interesting
te + last 4 of the paper with little boxes on it that you use for science and math
got it ty molly
Interesting can mean odd, I got your drift Peri : D
yes it can
UR5?

UR + anagram of frozen water.
Very good, Dorens!
:-) zooz
Sounds nice, Crossy. Save some for me :-)
Mlf do you have the UR4?
yes i do zooz
then same first three letters + first two letters of frozen water.
interesting - my arms have triceps, but no tricep!
Yes what about people with just one arm?
apparently the singular muscle has an s in it. live and learn!
finally got it
well, I'm off to clear up some counter space in my kitchen. It's beginning to look like a hoarder lives here
have fun dorens
Good luck with that, Dorens!
You have triceps in one arm : )
I have triceps in two arms too :-)
Not very good ones mind but they are there...lol
Triceps, triceps everywhere!
And at least you're honest Zoom. Some men look in the mirror and mistake fat for muscle : D
LOL
why doesnt a ty5 work with a letter added to the end of ty 4/7?
You are probably thinking of a person hitting a keyboard in which case would omit a vowel and have 'ist' instead
morning all, can someone clue me the second ap 7 please?
yes that word but couldnt it just be a cons at the end of it or is that not actually a word?
AP + word for decay +first two letters of frozen water.
hi button
one is a fruit
hi, MLFAN7
got the fruit..the other one
zooz clued it for you button:)
just clued it, Buttonman :-)
both relate to a the same fruit
DEF :not containing dissociable hydrogen.
OC6?
ahh THAT hydrogen! ty zooz!
:)
:-)
oc + take the De and the last T off the city in Michigan known for making cars
Or OC + first four letters of a Russian word meaning "a set of three"
ahh, a french tax levy:)) it all comes clear now:)) ty zooz:)

7/40
i used morewords to get it
Good grief!...Clue please?
ends in frost b***
i think its medical related
What is the DEF, Mlf?
It's mustard gas Zoom
i was about to say that
Thank you, Molly :-)
its used in war but another def was medical related for it as well
Ahh..Sulfur mustard.
grey poupon? lol
yes zooz:)
i was about to say its not yellow mustard cross lol
I prefer dijon mustard myself.
Especially with sausages..yum yum!
I make my own with a Keen's dry mustard base and add a dollop of honey
i like yellow
Ooh that does sound nice, Crossy.
English mustard I like with in a cheese & tomato sandwich.
I think next mustard i make I will blends some Keen's honey and a dash of HP see what it turns out like
AR 5/16?
Yeah..not too sure about that combo, Crossy..lol
never know till you try
HP?
HP-Sauce.
HP sauce
never heard of it
It's a Brit/Canadian thing
AR + anagram of frozen water.
ty zooz
Not too keen on it myself to be honest.
Tough I am sure there is at least one american who has tried it lol
though
I love HP with sausages:)
you talking about daddies sauce, Crossy?
HP tomato ketchup or HP daddy's sauce(Brown one)
the brown sauce
What is the difference between HP sauce and Worcestershire sauce?
constancy for one, Worchestershire sauce is very thin
The main difference is the use of distilled white vinegar in place of malt vinegar.
I did have to look it up to be honest, Molly.
both use tamarinds i think and the vinegar difference as zooz says
Plus you could not put HP auce in a bloody mary..lol
lol, no indeed zooz
I think your HP sauce is similar to our A-1 Sauce
kissing cousins at best
A-1 is much sweeter
Yeah just checked and they are similar but they do have a lot of different ingredients.
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/54948\n8
http://tinyurl.com/me2w9ah
Yep Zoom, similar, not the same
The sauce wars!!
They both seem to go for that vinegar/tomato/fruit combination.
I think many people go for the sweet & sour flavor the most.
I just read a comment that said HP and A-1 are both just "tarted up ketchup" : D
each to their own opinion I say...
good thing is that I am not cooking for that person:)
Personally, I hate fish sauce but there are lots of Asians who would disagree with me:)
now I want some nice crispy chips with malt vinegar;)
having a bagel with Cabot's horseradish cheese.. yummm, hi all
mmm, howdy aloy
Hello, Aloy :-)
made a request for that cheese at our local grocery and now they stock it, so i hope it sells well.. best horseradish cheese I've tasted
Must admit I am feeling rather peckish now..lol
and I'm not getting any commission for saying so, lol
It is nice to hear of tasty new eats to try
I would like a cheese omelette with a smidge of marmite .
I will pass on the marmite:(
ok, what is marmite?
I will raise you some shaved apple wood smoked 5 year old cheddar for that omlette
Teehee! as they say on the advert.."you either love it or hate it"
A bit like vegi-mite, aloy.
"mite" in the word is not very appetizing.. what is vegi-mite?
Zoom, I have a friend who calls marmite "beer scrapple"
Sounds yummy, Crossy :-)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marmite
I know marmite and vegi-mite but am looking up "scrapple"
I can sort of understand what they mean, Molly..lol
I thought it was clever, both made from the by-products of something else
verrry interesting! ty for the link, zooz.. concentrated brewer's yeast, didn't know
Power nap time for crossy... poink!
so, what does it taste like? just very salty or is there a flavor?
Best not to have too much as you can imagine it would be way too over powering. But when used in very small amounts it has a wonderful taste :-)
happy snooze, crossy
Or you could take a short cut and just have a beer with your eggs : D
lol
It is no good.I need to get something to eat with all this talk of food. Bye for now.
bye for now, zooz.. ty for the marmite lesson!
fw.. have a Terrific Tuesday everyone, ciao

dictionary.com says that it is "a local tax levied on certain articles, such as foodstuffs, on their entry into a city."
Can almost spell prototype...
nice, nan, and ty molly
Cute definition Nan : )
hard day, but at least my computer is unstuck.
Did someone come help you Ruby?
Just read that Robin Williams hung himself. I was hoping for an accidental overdose. Can't even imagine....
Yes, I called a neighbor who is very smart about computers (as is his wife) and now I know that I have Windows 8 and, somehow, the computer was trying to switch to 8.1
Mimi, I can only hope that he is finally at peace and free from the demons that plagued him most of his life.
that is horrible Mimi
ruby can you ask that neighbor how to get missing drivers back?
Good night everybody
Microsoft issued an automatic update to 8.1 for all Windows 8 users.
po 7 between the baggage handler and the piece, please?
Yes, Molly. I'm going to try imagining his spirit now reunited with his friend Christopher Reeve and with Jonathan Winters.
Nan, it ends like the island that starts Puerto
ty molly -- feel kinda stupid for missing that one
Well Nan, it's stacked up pretty weird
hi all!
Neurotic is almost there. I think I am channeling Sigmund today....
hello sue
I'm reading all these comments on the internet from people saying they just don't "get it"...how someone with so much fame and money could be so depressed. Alas, what those people don't "get" is depression and how dark and insidious it is.
hi wv!
hi uusue
hi wv
Absolutely, molly!
and hi mlfan!!
agreed molly and it doesnt have much or anythin really to do with fame and fortune
Yes, depression does not look at how much is in your wallet....
or not in your wallet
That kind of darkness of spirit is an equal opportunity destroyer.
I always felt that Robin Williams might have been bipolar
tabby he could have been
He seemed so manic when he was "on".
And people often don't want to take the "stabilizing" medication because it robs them of the "high" of the manic phase...they feel they lose their creativity.
Such a sad loss for all of us and especially for his family.
and those drugs mellow you out too and some nasty side effects though some say those drugs dont work for them at all
ey5?
Often drugs take a few weeks to really work....some don't have the patience to wait that long....
Well, back to work for me. Still waiting for rain from our "monsoon" today.....
that too pen sadly
mimi we had rain this am and afternoon woke us up early this am
You're right Pen, sadly we have become a society that expects instant results.
ey 5 is a babblet we've had before -- hard to clue
cyber i thought ti might be just not seeing it
i got ti cyber:)
ro 8, please?

Hi jaxx. Did you have an SS meeting today?
We did and it was awful!!!!!!
Oh dear :( what happens now
A meeting on Friday to inspect our house - again. They might have just come out and said that they didn't believe us when we said Ashley was with us from Sun Night to Friday after school.
Pa
Who's coming to your house jaxx?
i felt like a convicted criminal. All because they reckoned that no-one in authority knew about it. This is not the case. The school knew, the SW on leave knew, and all they have to do is aske our neighbours as Ashley plays with their children on weekdays only.
I wouldn't mind but we were trying to help, not cover things up.
You would think they would be supportive not destructive. You are trying to do the best for Ashley
Exactly!
The meeting was a shambles as only half the people had had a letter inviting them to it. Those that didn't drifted in so the meeting was over half an hour late starting.
Then the convicted parent and grandparents were grilled intensely
The police rep spent all the time yawning, he referred to Ashley as Norton, his half brother. the doctor's rep moaned about Ashley missing appointments, that his MMR was 18 months late, and that jess also never went to the doctor as if we had deliberately kept them away
Don't know how you stay calm
The only one who seemed to be on Julie's side was the Camhs rep. (Child and Adult Mental health service
he said that he didn't feel there was enough evidence to put Ashley under a Child protection order and that he was there for Norton and all he could say was that he was so much calmer since he moved in with Julie.
So it was 8 against three as he left after saying this.
All in all a distressing morning.
Who are these people jaxx? I'm confused
They are the Child protection team of Devon County Council. Ashley's school had reported him as being ill cared for because he had, in one week, not been given a packed lunch, had dirty socks and underwear.
Is Ashley a member of your family, a neighbor's child?
We never send him out without his lunch except on a Friday when they have fish and chips. His feet would make a good anti terrorist weapon as they have to be smelled to be believed and as for his underpants - boys aren't always good about using toilet paper.
Ashley is my grandson
girl too
Ashley lives with you sometimes?
(((Jaxx))) nothing I can say but sending a big hug
They accused us of never going to school parent evenings. I don't know where I sat on an infant sized seat then.
Ashley lives with us from Sunday night until after school on Friday. It is easier that way because my daughter works nights and isn't there in the morning to get him off to school.
We felt they didn't believe anything we said and it was just awful.
We are now to expect un announced checks and other meetings away into the future.
Thanks for the hugs chrissie. The best of it was that I had a contretemps with a woman purporting to be from Microsoft. Her Nigerian accent was so thick I couldn't understand her. I put the phone down on her as she was so rude and promised me trouble with my e-mail for the rest of my life.
Since then all I want to do is cry. I am so rattled.
From what is in the press, they seem to go for the easy targets. These monsters who kill little ones don't get checked
I am hogging the chat so I will go and lurk.
No, don't do that. The,chog is good for venting
So, microsoft are dishing out voodoo curses now ;)
I have nothing else to say, chrissie. This has thrown me so badly. After all the trouble with my sight I could do without SS (right intials!) and an abusive Nigerian.
She didn't even have the courage to leave call details. I spoke to a nice man at TalkTalk and he has given me two codes I can use to block such calls in future. The best of it was he too was Nigerian but spoke perfect English.
I do wish UK companies would bring all the call centres back to the UK
What really annoys me is the Asian voice that says hello I am andrew when Ali Baba might be nearer the mark
lolol
Eyes are dropping, must take my leave. Hope things look up soon jaxx, see you tomorrow
Ash and Grandad going fishing.
Night, chrissie and thanks. Sleep well.
afternoon all, could someone please clue me the RE7?
is that the things supermarketsdo when they increase their charges

oops, sorry llol penquis, I should have gone with that instead of shame
hi again all!
hi Su
Wow, got a new entry for my physics babblets! hy7/44!
hints, please for we non physicists?
starts with the hy5/18 (overactive) + not off
what does it really mean?
Worked up + opposite of off
it's a baryon containing strange quark(s) (but no heavier quarks)
thanks everyone
The definition is gobbledygook to me
I would rather be a strange quark than a heavy one
sorry! baryons are particles like protons and neutrons that contain three quarks, but protons and neutrons only contain what we call "up" and "down" quarks. We have now discovered four more kinds of quarks, all unstable, so particles containing them decay very fast and are only seen in cosmic rays or particle accelerators
Should be a song about that
After my stressful day, I am off to my bed. tc all.
the "strange" quarks were the first non-ordinary quarks to be discovered, back in the 1950s, although people didn't know about quarks back then
anyway, I hope you have a much better day tomorrow, jaxx!! you take care too.
sleep deeply jaxx and try to let this day go
oops, just noticed the time - must take Frank to a board meeting. Be back later for my last 25...
I thought up and down quarks are what Miley Cyrus does
Once they came up with quarks I began believing physics is the modern day fairy tale

Crossy - I couldn't get to your book excerpt - just got a blank page.
let me get you direct link liz
http://tinyurl.com/kh9etpo
Thanks.
OK I got that far - do I have to join the site to read the excerpt?
Now, bear in mind this is a lightly edited rough draft and I wecome comments and suggestions on the site
It is a 10,000 words sample of roughly 90,000 word novel
no, you do not have to jhoin to read it
join
So I still get a blank page, when I click on the start reading or the download link!
if you wish I have set it so you can load this and read it on your desktop instead of in the crayy reader the site provides(it is new and they are working on it)
odd
Or it takes me to a login page which I can't skip
Ditto what Lizlin said. I just tried, too. Hi all, btw.
mm..I just checked it and it is fine, but if you wish, I will send you a private copy
That'd be good - I'll e mail you with my addy. Yours is in your profile, I think.
Hi Jac

Well done Lizlin & Matches. *~*~*~* Still got 27 to find here.
Just looking through my 't' words to see what's missing and was reminded that I needed to get two tr5/12 out of the freezer for tomorrow night's dinner. Phew! Well done Babble. We can eat fish later! :)
mmm, fish:)
yp?????? wow
anyone have a clue?
Oh course, frozen isn't as tasty as freshly caught and cooked. Still nice, though.
I ate tr5 for lunch - leftovers from last night - steelhead tr5
baked in foil with bit of lemon and herbs and spices works well for prev frozen fish
kje - yp7/40 = another name for mustard gas.
That's how I cook 'em, too, Crossy.x
:))
crossy, can you send be the story to my email if there is more than part one, which you say is not part 2, which I have read. Thanks

that is where I read it
cool:))
I am gflad you had no problems with it, bugsaw
Lauren Bacall has died? Oh no! 3 lots of bad news today then, beginning with learning of Robin Williams' suicide, then finding out that a local lady who went missing 3 weeks ago has been found dead (no foul play suspected) and now this. :(
glad
I jjust got the news feed about her 9 minutes ago
As a smoker, she did pretty well to live to 89.
89 is a respectable age
RW was only 63 and so wracked by depression that he felt hanging himself was the only way out of the pit. Awful for both him and his family. The local lady I mentioned was only 52. Don't know cause of death yet.
:(
ro8?
a french person of low rank
kje - ro8 was a new word for me. It means a 'pleb', a person of low rank. Sounds a bit like someone who makes French outfits - 'co' word that, though.
Do you need a more broken-down clue, kje?
ty
got it
googled
well done, kje!
:)
I love it that 'google' has become a verb. lol
yes, great skill that googling ; )
Who here remember using the Ask jeeves search engine before google came along?
I do!
i remember jeeves
I was greatt. There was a Ask jeeves Jr. as well for kids
I can barely remember that. I do remember when someone asked me if I ever googled myself
Yep.
Lol, bichon! Did you think they were asking a very personal question? :D
Of course
I tried googling myself in public once.. got a 404 connection error;))
last ap7?
ROFLOL crossy!
kje - last ap7 is like the pinny you wear in the kitchen but take off the last letter and add a twitch.
ty, good clue
y/w, kje.
must go, hopefully time later to finish - hagn all
'Bye kje.
bichon - so what was your reply to that question? 'How dare you?'/'Splutter!' :)
Does anyone need any clues before I leave?

It is indeed, crossy. Btw, wish Mrs. Crossy Happy Left-Handers' Day from me.
just did and she said ty:)
:D
jacula is into bondage.. jacula is into bondage. :D
Has she ever wrong-sided you, Crossy, like my Other Half reckons I once did to him when he held out a gentelmanly hand to help me over a wide bit of run-out from the sea? I say he threw me over his shoulder and we both landed on our backs on the sand. He says, I threw him! Stepdaughter was dying to laugh and just let out a few squeaks until we both started laughing, once we'd got our breath back. :)
ruru - where did you get the bondage thing from? I'll tie you up, if that's what you really want. LOL
mm, I must be so used to it that I adjust for her left-handedness without even thinking of it.
well that clue was a little risque
though the love-cuffs have been needed on occasion;)
LOL, I see your point ruru. Oh blimey! You'll probably make something risque about that now, too. ;)
well... with that kind of attitude Jacula.. you can untie yourself :D
he 7/32?
time to get out the ping-pong paddles...
love-cuffs? Now who's being risque? lol
love cuffs?
nm.. Maybe in my next book ru
what's a love cuff?
paddles? See what you've done now, ruru? You've set him off!
ruru - I have a pair and they're yours for $15.
*snort* bojazz, roflol
lol there ya go ru! just ignore the teeth marks in the chrome plating
I'm showing a lot of restraint right now
no chrome - leather---
i know this discussion is more interesting than my request for a clue, but..... he 7/32?

I'm trying to sell restraint
lol bojazz

y/w penquis.
seems so obvious now, lol....
oh ... sort of like David Carradine?.. Just tighten your belt and ...?
Don't they always... once you've found them, penquis? They do to me!
I loved him in Kung-fu
sounds like his final role was Hung-Fu
Puts ping-pong balls in eye sockets to imitate 'Master'. Yup, it was a good TV series.

yes, and the temp was about 72 and the nights are cooling. 3-5 days, i will aim for the fill five.
what depth did you choose?
crossy's right about the rain helping the tarmac to cure.
the contract was for 3 1/2 , but to level it they put between 4 and 5
good, 4 is better, a full 5 better yet
much more than the orignial builder's driveway
up early to supervise, now i just want to finish and catch some sleep. had a houseguest today, too, i am tired.
Glad the depth is good, TO. Ask for clues now to help you finish (if you want to).
ty jacs, but i think i will just put my head down and spront to the finish. I will ask if i get stuck, ty.
