How do people find 290 words without a list. Beats me.
it is experience, mostly. I used to babble long before lists were used.
I don't think any amount of experience would help
it is a different way of looking at the grid, maybe. When there are no lists available, and when you don't know how many words there are in total, or how many start from a certain tile, you look for patterns in a different way.
What about the really obscure words
... you make a list of them and keep it handy for reference
... ask crossy if he has any of the t-shirts left from the day there were 744 in the grid ...

sometimes it helps me to search for a pattern in a2z. And sometimes somebody else knows the word and leaves a clue.

He has been managing editor for our local paper's online crawl, Arizona Central for a few years now so he knows what he is doing. He really hates other sites he sees that aren't accurate and do a poor job. My kids are all anal-retentive about work...gee, wonder where they got that trait!

it is not the original way. a reuben was sourkraut, mustard, corned beef and rye bread. that was the original. it for sure didnt have anything milk on it or in it
You don't even need a recipe...just mix 'em all together and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes. Then scoop up on rye.
and it didnt have cheese either.
is one thing you can never skimp on, a good quality rye bread
the cheese and sour cream are add ons that came much much later on.

We had the kitchen gutted and replaced last August so it was nice to move all my husband's garden clutter into his shed and reveal the lovely work surfaces. My trouble is that as fast as I throw things out my husband puts them back as 'they might be useful'. I have tried telling him that we are now at or near the dreaded three score years and ten so there won't be time to use it all.
I sneaked this clear up in while he and Ash were carp fishing. he did admit that it looked good. Now I tie Ashley up so he can't make a mess until the SS have been on Friday. lol

the surge protector is often easier to access than the wall plug....if you turn that off, you are cutting power to all that is connected to it....
Okay, let me be more specific. Power off is power off. Unplugging, either from the wall or the surge protector is the same thing as power off.
