I can imagine. I hope you take your time getting over it. PTSD is easier battled when you take it seriously and are gentle with yourself. No being strong and masculin and playing it down :)
I couldn't possibly be more gentle with myself than I am being right now. I've really been taking it easy. I just have never had it before so it's been a new experience. I lived through the Big Quake in SF in 1989.. but this one was worse in some way
am glad you take yourself seriously in this, ru. Sometimes it is hard to explain why some things trigger us worse than others. But the fact remains you are shocked to the core, literally.
yeah.. that's kind of how it feels. Mrs. Ru experiences PTSD from previous trauma on occasion .. and so I know it is a real issue for many people and that you have to attend to it.

for me it stems from my childhood and I have only recently learned how to handle it. By giving attention to the fear and other feelings it gives, being gentle with yourself and breathing through it.

Annie, sweet little Isla started kindergarten yesterday and was placed in a typical classroom.
Scrabbs, That is great news. Bobby was too but during first grade I transferred him to special ed.
She knows all the letters and numbers and can print her name. Her parents are teachers and she has an older and a younger sib so she is in a learning environment.
Yes, her environment is very good. I hope she can keep up with reading and simple math in first and second grades. It would be great for Isla.
She will plateau at some point but I am excited to see her progress.
scrabbs, yes, it is exciting. When Bobby was able to read simple stories I was thrilled. He keeps up with the news and he is registered to vote. I go with him. I enjoy his reasoning.

We get them every year but the past few years there hasn't been much rain...mostly dust storms. It has been way too dry for way too long. Then when the storms do come, there's lots of flooding. I just stay in and have tea and enjoy the smell of the rain.

The big dust storms here, called haboobs, roll in and can be immense. Traffic must pull off the road and stop until it passes by. They're really amazing to see.

The long urls blow the chat log. The only way to fix it is to flush the long url out of chat.

no. it is fine now, just ugly. i swear it was at least a quarter inch deep.
Does it look better now? If you're allergic to pine sap, with a wound like this, it's possible you had swelling, redness, itching, and maybe a localized rash

some benedryl would have helped with those symptoms (and it would have helped you sleep too, I betO)
You may be more prone to the red streaks going up to your armpit than someone who isn't allergic to pine sap because of how the body reacts to allergens
