back again...just been trying to find certain peeps to let them know a mutual friend has passed. One lady is hard to find cos nobody can recall her surname plus she has moved so nobody knows her new address.....in my honest opinion - that wasn't a true friend.
cooee and g'day from me
tough job, diz. So sorry to hear about your friend.
hi (((rose)))
ugh, diz. horrible task. i had to do it when mother died.
thx Dee, my friend is in a better place now.....fricking hate the big C....sorry for the language
hi {{dee}}
Completely understand. Went thru that with my mom; it was awful.
That's tough, Diz :(
Hi and hugs, Rose
{{hugs}} liz girl
Hope you've had a good day
brb need some water
at least she is now at peace and reunited with her dtr who died of leukemia 20 odd yrs ago.....Yvonne and Les raised their dtr 2 girls who were 2 and 8 at the time. They did a fantastic job.
enough of feeling down.....back to the grid....xoxo
Always good, when a person's suffering ends. i guess that's all the consolation we can have.
true Liz
back to winter again today liz. bucketing with the wet stuff and lots of wind. and this is after having the aircon on yesterday.
You definitely need to move up here - 30 C again today - but windy. It seems to have been windy all year!
i was watching a program last night, talking about hurricanes becoming more frequent all over australia. they were unheard of when i was a tacker.
Taking a break - 50 left but still no 8s!
No hurricanes here thank goodness - just lots of wind. No cyclones last year either!
catch you later, liz
See you later - hugs.
dee, don has taken advantage of the weather and has been working on the plumbing etc in the old laundry. w/machine currently standing on a pillar of bricks where the old boiler used to be.
he has finished removing all of one wall plasterboard, and half of the adjoining wall. he now has to move the machines to that wall so he can work on the floor.
back. What a huge project, rose! Brave of him to tackle. We have had that odd weather, too. A/C on early in the week, and we had snow flurries and sleet tonight. Also had a scary incident. Kids turned on their furnace last night around dinner time for the first time. About 10:45 PM, son-in-law wasn't feeling well - headache, some dizziness. He was wise enough to wonder if it was their gas furnace. They turned everything off and came here. The furnace company came today and discovered carbon monoxide levels 4 x safe level. They have to put in a new furnace in the "new" house they bought. I still don't understand why the inspector missed this.
Had they stayed, they probably would have died (according to the furnace guy)... sure said prayers of thanksgiving tonight!
oh my, dee. that was too close for comfort, dear. you would think the faulty furnace would have been picked up by the inspection.
I think I am going to ask hubby to check that out... I am curious more than anything, but isn't that one of the reasons we pay big $ for these inspections prior to purchase?
did the furnace guy say what exactly was wrong?
surely the kids have a copy of the report?
a part was faulty. The furnace is 12 years old and will take til mid Nov to get it here. The kids have opted to buy a new furnace, instead of investing in an old one.
They do and are going to look at it once they get back home.
if they can afford it, it is the best option.
Hopefully, the cost will be reasonable enough they can afford it. They are definitely putting in carbon monoxide detectors (the ones that were there did not work), and they will have their furnace checked before every winter.
Is Don going crazy with this project? It does sound huge!
dee, it is huge, and he won't allow me to hire anyone to help him. he has to completely gut the landry and kitchen, then plaster the walls and ceiling, and lay new flooring before i can even think of someone coming in to install the new fittings.
Wow! How long does he think all of that will take?
fireworks finally
WTG DEE!!!
well the bathroom took nearly 3 years....lol...
Thx, rose! Sure hope your laundry and kitchen don't take that long. Otherwise, you will go crazy.
i think this time he will be moving a little faster. no MIL to nag him while he is up a ladder...lol
lol
Well, need to get going; tomorrow is going to be a crazy day! Hugs to you!!
once he is up to dismantling the cupboards etc, i can help him. i am actually starting to feel a little excited.
Aww, fantastic!!!
{{hugs}} dee. sweet dreams, and am so very glad the kids are okay.
Thanks so much, rose. I can't think about it too much, makes me almost sick to my stomach (and teary), so I am concentrating on the wonderful part!
XOXO TTFN!!!
could I get a clue for sh6/24, please
Hi Marc - sh 6/24 = a serving of cream cheese on a bagel.
thanks
greetings friends
E
WOW!!! {{hugs}} my darling pugs xoxox
Hugs and Love Rose
How are you doing? Hows the house coming along
so sorry about your news dear. will keep holding you up in prayer
an
pugs, i recently doubled my magnesium during the day. it makes such a difference. i am starting to get excited about the reno's.
thanks Rose. I got no ideal what is going on there--I went to my primary doctor thursday and my bp and Ac1 was great
I'm so happy for you Rose. I know its been along time coming
Has sprite been on yet?
we bought a really nifty thing yesterday. it's a drawer made out of steel, which goes under the w/machine. it is lockable, so i can store all my detergents etc safely. and it elevates the machine to a height where i don't have to grovel on the floor to see inside of.
no sprite yet, pugs :-( i hope she is okay.
we are having a blast of winter---stronge winds, rain with some snow flurries and down to 26
ditto here, pugs. we are having snow flurries further up the mountain. it is so weird. we had the aircon on yesterday.
sounds great Rose! I never heard of such a thing--you will have to post it
i will take pics, or rather don will and send them to you.
she sent me a email a few days ago and it didnt sound like things are going to great with her-----would loove that Rose
i hope she gets here before you go. she will be so disappointed.
yeah me too---I'm going to try making it on here on saturday mornings
apart from the disappointment of the delay of your surgery, how are you doing? dare i ask?? how is the new man in your life?
I'm feeling really well and he's great too--thanks
while he is at it, i will get don to take some pics of my roses. they have gone insane this year.
I got no ideal why I failed the ekg
oh wow Rose--I bet they are beautiful
the miniatures in the window baskets aren't in flower yet, but they are budding.
good morning all
the cold spell isnt hurting them
SPRITE!!!!!!!!!!!Hugs and Love
oh, and i had an email from worzel. he is going to make an effort to get here sometime this weekend.
*hugs pugs* My dear friend :) Soooo great to see you.
sooooo great to see you too
{{hugs}} my darling sprite. have you had a good night?
Hope Wor is doing fine too
*hugs rose* Yeah it was ok. Not that many bad dreams. It really helps to be less stressed :D How have you been today?
he is busy reno-ing his new digs.
sprite, the doubling of the magnesium in the morning and again at 2pm is helping immensely.
and pugs, how are you feeling?
How are you doing with the new meds Sprite
am so glad, rose. Good thinking of yours.
I'm feeling really good Sprite--dont know why I failed the ekg
pugs, they are going pretty ok. The ones for my bladder work very well. Bowels not so much. And the new pain killers are great. Finally found the right dose for me and am happy with the results.
Rose I found the mag. here and I've been taking 1200 mg a day myself
oh, good, pugs. wtg hun. i am glad it has helped you.
I'm glad for you Sprite. I hope they find you help on the other
and, pugs? How do they work for you?
rose, shouldn't she be careful with the magnesium until she has seen the cardiologist?
seems to be working fine--but with this winter blast, my bones are aching all over--lol
sprite, when i spoke to my cardiologist, he was of the opinion that the magnesium i am taking, plus the infusions would not effect my heart.
*sends healing vibes to pug's bones*
ah, great, rose.
i think you need to take much bigger doses than this to affect the heart. ( but someone may correct me). i too was quite anxious about it. but specialist calmed my fears.
I was telling Rose, I went to my regular doctor thursday and my blood pressure was great and my A1C was 6 si akk was well there --He wants me to stop losing weight and I'm eating and not trying to lose
good, then all is fine. Am worried about your heart, pugs, will be glad once you have seen the specialist.
ah good, pugs, that sounds very good.
my spelling isnt so great here-lol Not use to this keyboard yet--sorry guys
you are doing fine, pugs. HOw amazing, that laptop gift! And if he comes at Xmas, and he can get your reader sorted out, please let me know! Will make sure you have enough to read :)
I go the 12th and will let you guys know as soon as I know---I'm going to say stress is the problem if anything
sounds very plausible to me. Is W staying away now>
will do Sprite-lol
he is---just had a couple of calls when he was hitting the bottle and I just hung up on him
good for you, pugs. my gosh that man has a nerve.
you are handling it all so well, pugs. Yay you! And I am with Rose. Someone should get his dingleberries kicked into his throat.
In a way I feel sorry for him and his illness but I can not help him no longer and I'm not letting it stand in my way of bettering things
you are amazing, pugs. Look how strong you have become! I love you to pieces and I admire you.
thanks and I love you guys too--We have all been through some trying things and here we still stand-lol
pugs, that is exactly how i felt about my ex. in the end i pitied him, but i couldn't help him.
annie! You are in the grid!
you cannot help people who are not helping themselves. It is simply impossible.
Here comes a New Year and I hope we all have a new beginning of hope and better things
amen to that
amen
Sprite, you need help with anything? Dont be afraid to ask---maybe one day we can sit and have tea in Rose's new kitchen--:)
jeez pugs, it has been so long! Makes it hard to know what to ask, lol. So many things I want to know. How is work going for you?
wouldn't that be awesome? I wish it was today :) And rose is helping me tremendously with solving the current stress in my life. If there is anything you can do, be sure I will let you know :) Having you as a friend is helping a lot already.
work is going great--my boss has been so supportive in everything--he offered me more hours but right now I have turned it down
if the ebola and isis crises settle, you and i pugs will be sitting in sprite's kitchen in less than a year.
Good thinking. The extra money would be nice, but you are overtaxed as it is already. Am so glad it is going well though!
oh man, I will be sooooo glad to see you two irl and hold you and hug you and show you around the netherlands... and spend a few days with just the 3 of us...
i hear what sprite is saying...but at the same tie, as a single person pugs does have to lay aside enough money to get through her recovery.
ugh..*time*
indeed, that is true.
sounds so gooooood! All I can do and will do is the best I can and leave it at that
you having a blast of winter too Sprite
that should be enough in any case, pugs.
not today, we are having a rare warm late autumn day. Temps up to 20 degrees celcius this weekend. But earlier, yes we did. Cold!
pugs, how is the sister doing? did you solve the question of why her bsl's were so high?
I cant believe that the holidays are upon us again
*erases question about pug's sister*
she's doing better now---I dont knowwhat happen there Rose, unless she is overeating while I'm at work
*giggle* sister of my soul..
:D
am glad she is doing better.
I wrote Joso but havent heard from him---have you guys? and how is our other babble friends? Anything going on that I've missed out on?
she is very naughty if she is, pugs.
oh, and chrissiedee said to tell you she is praying for you.
crossy is well, his love is having a scan soon, zooz is holding up very well
Yes she is--our last visit to her doctor was good--she had lost a few pounds and sugar was fine so its something she was doing without me knowing
not easy, pugs :(
i emailed joso at his halloween. didn't hear back from him.
What is the scan for on Crossy's wife and did he get his neck looked at yet
booh lee has been nasty again towards rose :( But less said about it, the better.
dinner on the way. xoxox catch you later if you are still here. {{hugs}}
Has my friend OO been on? I worry about him and Ru,flosey and dee doing okay too
enjoy, my dear rose *hugs*
hugs and enjoy Rose
haven' seen him in a while, pugs. Ru has been good. Have not seen dee or flosey for a while
Poor Rose---drama seems to love her-lol
too true. Has she told you about her doctor?
not sure---she wrote me some about her drama with her work
her pain management doctor, who was on holidays, has suddenly died.
how are things in your family Sprite? And Ive been worried about you too---Last week you kept coming to my mind
is he the one that was away with his poor wife
yeah, I wrote back to you to tell you about my stress stuff. But things are way better now. You are so sensitive, pugs, it is wonderful. You seem to know when I am not feeling very chipper :)
yes, that is the one.
she told me and so sad---how awful for his wife to be in such a way
Yes, aweful. And also terrible that rose is without pain management doctor again, and has to find someone who will give her the treatment doctor Tim set out for her.
I'm so glad Sprite----I know all isnt hunky-dorey for you either----I miss you all so much--but know I care about you all and think of you guys even though I'm not always here
has she had any luck yet?
we know, dear one, we know. We stay connected even if we cannot speak often anymore.
yes, she may have found another doctor. One that is openminded and willing to really listen. And end of november she will hear from dr Tim's office.
thats real good for Rose then--I will hold her in prayers that all goes well--------what caused you to have such pain Sprite? stress?
I have to go help my friend Carol today to do some work. They are coming to pick me up. She is not doing so well either. She cant get her sugar down and her copd is bad too
yes, lots of stress. And the new pain meds are for the nerve pain in my feet, they replace meds I already had. So nothing really new there. Seems these meds work better.
I hope they continue too for your sake Sprite. I wish I could take away those bad dreams for you and poor Zoom too---I know he has those too
bad dreams are nasty. But I am used to having them, so don't worry. Yeah, poor zooz.
good morning
are you still sleeping well?
hello ruby L(
howdy Ruby, hugs
I am Sprite-----I just hope to settle things at the heart doctor to get this operation before the holidays
and here's ruby. {{hugs}} dear friend. now if only liz would surface, the gang would be complete.....oh...and i am baaa~ck...lol
I hope all is well and you can go ahead with planning it all.
OMG! What operation, pugs? I am so out of touch
And good mrning to you and Sprite
{{rosie}}
welcome back Rose and I hope to see Liz too
how was dinner, rose?
Halloween was a huge success! I decorated the house which looks a little scary from the street. But I put candles and ghosts in the windows and the most children came since we'v been here.
They are the sweetest. one little girl gave me kisses and hugs and they all say "merci" and "Bon soir, Madame" (or in a little bit of English)
Ruby, I was to have a hernia operation on the 29th and due to me not passing my ekg they has postponed it until I get a okay from the heart doctor
what a lovely activity, ruby. Yay for you.
yummy, sprite. quiche lorraine tonight. and we pigged out on crackers and cheese first...lol
One of the big boys (all the boys were bigger than I) kept patting me on the shoulder while I was distributing candy.
how nice Ruby
It's really touching
aw that is so sweet, ruby
oh sounds delish, rose!
*giggle* ruby...i can just see it.
by the way Sprite -how is your cooking coming along?
The children are so much nicer than US ones and it was all finished before 9 so I could watch TV.
going well! I made a dish yesterday for which Dianne sent me the recipe. It worked out well and everybody loved it. Must email her after this grid.
yeah sprite, found any recipes for the spices?
next week, rose! Maybe you have some recipes you'd care to share?
great Sprite! So glad all is going well there for you
sprite, do you have an electric frypan?
no sweetie, I don't/.
lolool, sprite...i was gonna ask if you would like my special fried rice recipe?
how about a large frypan?
lol yes I would. I have large pans and I can put it on a soft simmer.
lolol, the signal to our tv just went down...don actually said...poop!!
okay, sprite, we are in business with the fried rice. i will email the recipe to you.
lol that is sweet. Don sounds so great.
ok rose, awesome! Fried rice sounds delish.
Dear friends I need to get off and get ready to go help Carol. Lots and lots of hugs and love and I'm so glad to have gotten to touch bases with you all. May God bless you each and your homes too---Love you all
{{{puglet}}}
bye dear pugs, all the best for you too. *hugs* and take care of yourself!
many years ago he made a solemn oath. he would not sw5, drink alcohol to excess, or give in to loose women. apart from the last he is holding firm...but he married me...so the loose women part flew out of the window....lol
xoxox pugs, so lovely to see you, dear.
very good oath. And as long as you are the only loose woman in his life, all is well, lolll
sprite, the other day...i realised just how much i love this man. i was sitting waiting for him to come out of the supermarket. when i saw him, my heart gave such a flip of joy...and this after 10 years.
oh ikr! I have the same with my love. About 20 years together and still in love.
am so glad you found love!
yeah...i know we are official for the last 10-12 years. but i have known him for over 30 years...and way back when...i think i loved him...of course i was true to my first...but still..
i have seen photos of him as a much younger man, and he has seen photos of me....and we both go....wow!!. it makes you wonder doesn't it? if we had met all those years ago...would we have...??
yeah, the heart knows no morals. It loves what it loves.
the road not taken, rose. We just don't know. We made the choices we had to make at the time.
*sigh* yeah i know. but we are together now and supremely happy.
and you may not have been, had you not learned all those important things you learned through your bad marriage and all. No way to tell.
too true, sprite.
can't wait to meet THE man in your life :D
ditto, sprite.
fireflies :) And I must be off too, alas. Rob is away for the weekend, and I have to make sure we have something to eat and all.
rose, a big warm *hug* for you and one for Don. I hope you will sleep well :)
WTG SPRITE!! i hope you have a good day, sweetie.
xoxox dearest friend
i will hang around for a bit to see if worzel surfaces.
okay...no worzel...:-( hopefully will catch him tomorrow.. xoxox to all who follow. enjoy the grid!!

First column i can i get a clue please?
lbd, have doubled my dose of magnesium morning and 2 pm. very effective.
in5, in + upper limb. then plural
sounds good, Rose. anything to make those cramps go away.
thanks granny
ty, Rose for the in5/6
mlf, did you find the mo7?
no granny i sure didnt
lbdawger...and you, dear? how are you doing?
found the hy's ty
okay, mlf. mo + bird's home **st, + to move quicker than a walk
I'm doing well. a bit achy from the change in weather. I think I need to start taking the vitamin D again.
I tried that - and it's not working...
ugh, lbd...
matty it wsnt for me either change the vowel in the not walk word
Ah hah - past tense
matty...{{hugs}}
past tense of last word
clever girls
Darn this chat lag :)
matty yes i had wrong vowel as well lol
an extra vitamin is worth the change in disposition. Wonder if magnesium would help with the seasonal achiness?
lbdawger...maybe worth looking at, dear. vitacost site...magnesium malate
writing that down, will check it out.
2nd column A?
an4/4
i have the girl's name
and an5/10
Hi all - hi again and hugs again, Rose

{{hugs}} liz girl
Hi lbd and mlf
Glad I caught you again, Rose - I seem to run just about when you come into the chog early on!
;-) liz. np's sweetie.
Good - I'm not running from you
That small buffalo does not come from the bottom A in the 2nd column
third column N?
After trying everything, I looked it up and I'd used that word for the A in the 3rd column :)
an 5/10 comes from that bottom a, sukee
Yes I got that one :)
clue for ru5?
Good question, mlf - only 42 words left and that n is a blank!
liz i havent gotten nbt or nbs eyt

ahhh, it's snowing...
Thanks - a new word for me, Rose.
and it's lying on the roofs
ty, rose for the eu8
Yuck - snow :(
i love snow
we had or have rain this am
They said wet snow, maybe. I'm not ready for snow.
I like looking at snow and walking in it when it's new and crunchy but not otherwise - especially not driving in it. Thank goodness, we don't get snow here.
Can I move in with you?
lol
Sure - hit 30 C today
ne7. ne + 4th vowel + first 2 letters of my name + abbreviation for mother. then plural
granny can we try again on that eu clue please?
5th vowel I think, Rose ;)
And thanks again :)
Down to 33 now thanks largely to Rose :)
Got the EU clue, ty Rose
Also game me a DA 6
gave, that is
I had the da word - wouldn't have thought to put eu before it.
That ah5 is eluding me, as is the ae7 (probably fish like, but still....)
the ae 7 relates to the ae 4 before it.
The ah 5 is before you - that's a clue!
mlf eu + most of not mom + 2nd vowel + ***th, a 12th of a year
* smack *
the ae 7 is similar to the eo 6
lol matty
i dont have the eo6 either
Both are time related
matty, ah5, a what is on the top of your neck
I know - I feel very stupid for that one
Just babble blindness
Me trying to overthink it, I think
got th eu thnks
Well, snow has stopped. I don't want to see any more today...
Or for a month or so!
sorry. a + what is on the top of your neck
How's your evening been Rose?
Clearly, mine's empty
ae7, ae4, period of time + man's na4.
U please?
liz, i caught up with sprite, ruby and puglet.
Fantastic - sorry I missed puglet - she sent me a cute halloween card - must reply to her. Was she really fed up about the delay in her op? Worried about the heart?
has anyone seen cos?
Haven't seen Cos in ages
mlf..un4/5. un + 2 vowels
thanks granny
nbt
un5/6. un + upper limb. then plural
Come to think of it, also haven't seen o-o in ages either - hope he's OK.
is the NE 9 a compound word?
I hate initial vowels
yes, mlf one who sniffs out worldly events
Yes, mlf - part of a sequence ne 4,9 and 7
yes, mlf. ne3, not old + plural letter + dog
does the 9 extend from the 7?
It extends from the ne 4
The ne 7 is a different word meaning the same thing
liz ne 4/8?
Yes
no mlf. see my clue 7:10am
Did you see Rose's clue at 7.10?
oh got it
thanks liz and granny
WTG

hi cross
Hi Crossy
ty everybody for the nifty clues
{{liz}}
{{crossy}}
hello there MLF!
hello ruby
Hi Ruby - hugs
Was just looking back in the chog - I missed Puglet earlier :( I'll have to write to her.
I'm struggling to reach half!
And today is a holiday here, so no newspaper
22 left here - not an easy grid and I'm not seeing much more right now. Will probably leave them until tomorrow.
What holiday is it?
bye liz
All saints' or all souls', I'm never sure
Enjoy your days, everyone and hugs :)
Oh yes, day after Halloween
And I DO'T KNOW A SINGLE fR PERSO WHO GOES TO MASS!
all saints
:)
today isn't about mass, it's about visiting your relatives graves
sorry, didn't mean to shout. It's that errant pinkie AGAIN
oh is that what it means?
And they do a wonderful job in our local cemetery of decorating the graves. It is a lovely custom
howdy mlf, liz, ruby...sorry, I was drifting around the internet:)
{{CROSSY}} IS T A QUESTION OF GRAVITY?
but yes, there are very few French who still go to mass, except the intolerent extremists who make the news with their protests...
our local church has closed. The priest got sick and wasn't replaced.
Buggie protests during this holiday?
it is a question of my 4 second attention span:)
No, protests against gay marriage, IVF and such and abortion
ohh
it's crazy because the Fr invented the "morning after pill"
well, they only have so much attention because the media need to stir things to get people to watch. The extremists claim several million showed up to protest, the police only count around 50 thousand. They're a small but very vocal (and rather rich, money helps...) minority
reason #514 that I got rid of cable tv:) got tired of the talking heads and the media spin on the facts
I don't even own a TV :)
you are wise, buggie
best thing to do is get the three biggest competing newspapers in your area, and if they all agree on a story, then you can take it at face value
Lots of them would be happy to get rid of birth control completely, can't let women have any freedom can we?
there is actually a group protesting birth control???!
the catholics think procreation is the purpose of marriage
Not really, but it is underlying in the arguments. And look at the names women who wanted birth control to be covered under their insurance were called in the US.
They will probably repeal Roe v. Wade in the US; it is all those awful retrograde politicians (who are all probably fooling around with their aides)
Thankfully, we are saner in Canada.
I like to think so:)
and I'm to old
well, the official ones. most practicing catholics are fine with birth control
Most people are fine with birth control :)
ahh yes, the old "every sperm is sacred" thing
My generation fought so hard for women's rights!
Yes Ruby, women's rights have come a long way in the US. Not sure why it's "saner in Canada" but whatever.
I think the current outpouring of hatred is probably a good sign. It's like a pimple. You pop it and gunk goes everywhere, but then you wipe it off and it can finally heal...
Even our conservative PM is in favor of giving women the choice.
good analogy, buggie:)
I think it was always possible, in the US, for women with money to get safe abortions.
It was all the other women who had to suffer
"with money" being the key phrase
As always.
does anyone have the left i words?
id 4/5 and id 5/12
oops, that's the right one-lol
in + not leg and plural
thanks
Cat must be feeling better, he bit me when I offered him something that he didn't want :)
Just a nip.
how about the bottom n?
my cat is so cute, when I offer him something he doesn't like, he screws up his face. So I often offer him things he doesn't like just to see him do that
Rhymes with something you do to make your hair wavy
i'm glad i'm not your cat that's mean
lol
If I put something in a bowl that the cat does not want, he scratches the side of the floor like he is covering up something in the litter box.
thanks sukee
try to give our cats something they do not like and they will pout and not eat for the rest of the day just to lay a guilt trip on us
Oh a little hardship builds character ;-)
I know... our training continues...
can someone help me with the 8's and 9
Good day, mates.
howdy,scrabby
hi hi
I am going to rescue an unwanted, neglected bunny later!
ne9 is a 40's term for a reporter for the papers
yaaa for scrabby and yaa for rescued bunnies!
TY for the clue
thanks
The 9?
yes.. that was for the 9
I met a mother, with her newborn, in the office on Thursday, spoke about pets in the home, and learned she doesn't want this bunny and was planning to release him into the woods.
ok, I have the 7, will work on it
it is exciting to get a new per.
well, that will be a good intervention, scrabby. that house-bunny would stand little chance
and good day, etc to all
Hi Owl
hello, scrabbler.
I am happy about the orphan bunny, scrabs, I thought you would adopt him
what about the 8s does anyone have one
He needs to be rescued stat.
Got it Crossy, ty
and you have a place for him in your heart now:)
Last night was lovely with the local kids. I guess the word got out that the "scary" house with the big dogs also had treats. The most kids, ever, came and they were adorable, gave me hugs and pats and kisses
very nice, ruby:))
How wonderful, ruby!
It made me very happy
Great experiences = great memories.
There is a senior's center attached to the place I work out and staff and residents were dressed up. One department dressup up as the cast of Peanuts, with papier machete heads, one guy was blind so his guide dog was dressed up as Snoopy.
take you small joys and fill them with light so they shine so very bright:)
Cute, Sukee
I needed that! The first few years, very few children came, but I guess my reputation grows
I love th idea of the Snoopy guide dog. If you used a chow as a guide dog, it would be ""curtains"
dress up the dogs next year :)
Could you regularly make cookies for the neighborhood kids, ruby?
They are too big to fit in my clothes
Nice idea, but it would drive the dogs crazy to have that much company
we made out two black kitties into spiders last night:) was a body stocking sort of thing with the legs attached. looked amazing!
our
Did you see the youtube video of the spider/dog a couple of weeks ago? It was hilarious
peole ran away, terrified
you got your cats to wear a costume? my cat would go nuts trying to get it off lol
lol, yes, I saw spider-dog
people*
Mine too, you can't even put a harness on him.
Rufie stood guard all evening (and stood by my side when the kids came down the steps), but Raffie hid the whole evening
chog is running slow today:(
Crossy, I saw a video of spider-cat and it was funny.
Had to protect you from those dangerous kids, huh Ruby : D
I just found a sea an7.
He's my guardian angel
our clocks go back an hour tomorrow night:(
Either kids are much bigger than they used to be or I am shrinking. Most of them were a head taller!
scrab a sea animal?
I love this weekend, getting an extra hour, except when I am on call.
cross yes they sure do
ty scrabs, I missed that
or a perennial, mlf
Yes, MLFAN. They have all of those finger-like projections
Got it
TY
it worked well with our two kitties. they like to try and escape into the hall anyways, so when we knew there were a bunch of kids in the foyer getting candy, we would release them and all you saw was two black spiders running into this crowd of squealing kids
The French are getting taller, I used to be a giant at 1m86, now I'm just tall
my husband keeps complaining why we have to cheat time
Time is an illusion anyway.
I wish they would change the time and then leave it, not necessary anymore.
that is so cute, crossy
While they're changing time, I wish theyd give me a do-over
good morningbabble friends
Hey Pip
howdy pippin
hiya!
hi pip
time is a restraint of our own making:)
124 but no bottom a or 8
an5 close to
i am sort of excited about my fake extra hour of sleep but i know that means my kitty alarm clock will be asking for food at 4:15am
ty joseph
French love is in da grid;)
Well, I have put it out for as long as I can by I am washing my winter coat tomorrow...
kitties operate on U.S.T
I solved that problem with my kitty. I feed him before I go to bed
Italian, too
i do that too but she is spoiled and insists on fresh food
can someone break down a clue for that word please?
I also know the cat is feeling a bit better because he is in waking me up early again.
my dogs and I meet in the kitchen for a midnight snack every night
at 15 years, i've given up trying to explain that it's all equally good
pippn our cat wants fresh food too
I am glad your kitty is recovering, sukee
yay for sukee's kitty
Well, hopefully he is. But he acting more like his old self.
What a relief when our pets get better.
happy recovering kitty is always a good thing
I think wet food has made a lot of difference.
MLFAN--the an7?
yes scrab
I need an 8, pls
good morning, sukee, happy your kitty is recovering
eu ruby
hi annie

Hi Annie and Bobby
((ruby)) Bobby was very surprised and happy with the Halloween card. He hung it on the door next to the "Boo" sign.
was thinking it was those first 4 letters but then stalled on the word thanks scrab
Hi Scrabbs
I hoped he'd like it. I love recycling cards; they make great stationery
((ruby)) He is standing next to me and says to tell you "Thanks"
Well, I'm off for a bit. Take care all.

Liz and the family are coming down and taking me out for my birthday today

Great!
Yay, pip!

Happy Birthday to you, too, Pip.
H.B pippin:)

had stepped away to put on fuzzy pants, it is a chilly rainy morning
We are supposed to get snow today.

mmm, delicious indian bread in the grid, i could totally eat some for breakfast
I love na4 pizza!
oooh, i have never done that, it sounds good
have to leave for a bit, be back later
see you later annie
I make an amazing Focaccia you would love then, scrabby
yes please
it is based on a n4-type bread
i broke my first rule, never babble before brekky, it makes me too hungry!
need a nice hot oven to do it right tough. I used to make it in a wood-fired igloo pizza oven:)
I haven't eaten yet either. Just sipping coffee.
you have a grill, yes?
can you do it with bricks in the grill to make extra hot?
i seem to recall alton brown doing something delightfully illegal with his grill and a hairdryer to get extra heat for some project in one of his cookbooks
I hear of people cooking on stone slabs in standard electric range, though i have never tried it myself
i used to use a flooring tile in my gas oven, it helps to standardize the temp and made a great cook surface for breads and pizzas
my pizza igloo used to hover around 550f
I need a break. Bye, mates.
used to wash the bricks with a clean wet cloth wrapped round the end of a garden hoe
tc scrabby
once it got up to temp, no germs could live anyways, just clean the bricks every day
i like it
when I used to do it every day, i got so i could make 5 pizzas at a time
that is a lot orf pizza to eat
I had a full woodsman beard back then. The Italians used to call my pizza Jesus-pizza
Hi all... and Happy Birthday Annie!

I have dozens of these single-serve tupperware containers and i freeze it all into one-person portions.
each slow-cooker load make 9 servings approx.
biab
i am making chicken paprikash tonight to save for the next few weeks
I said that I would not change my icon picture until our troops havs
I said that I would not change my icon picture until our troops had left afghanistan. Now they have so I have a picture of the dog ready to go out last night as Buzz Lightdog.

He is 14 years old and loved dressing up and watching the fireworks.

He is wonderful. Such a loving and gentle dog.
Bet she's lurking.
Why, would Molly not approve?
could be.
good morning everyone - love your pumpkin, Judi
she teases us about the mushy stuff.
Hi, Flosey. Ty. It's a day after Hallowen, so I should probably change my icon.
Hi Flo
very cute pic, frances! :-)
I call the dog my four legged grandson.
Apparently Italian is not an allowable language today. "Amore" is unrequited.
mine dogs came home from the groomer with skull bandanas, the eyes in them were little sparkly red glitter-stones
...... and if I'm mushy, so be it.
cute, Welki
hehe - mine dogs
{{{{{cuddles hego}}}}}}}

Welki your icon made me laugh out loud.
i like it. thanks, frances
You're welcome.
Cats are tearing through the house. The chase is on!
Jacula got 3 new kittens!
we didn't have many kids trick or treating last night - was disappointed. first time we've had a slow year
i have to find the video i saw today of big cats being given boxes to play with/in
I saw that , pippin! Too funny. No matter what their size, they all love to play hide-in-the-box.
I saw that Pip. cute!
SEe you kids later! *POOF*
I want amore to be a word.
What's life without love?

our large ginger kitty(about 15 pounds if cat) tried to fit into an empty chocolate bar box.. all you saw was this great big butterscotch striped butt sticking out of this small box:)

sounds like a fun saturday
well, i'm cleaning as prep for a girlfriend coming over tomorrow, and for my birthday party in 2 weeks, so it is kind of nice
and i've got to get some of this info into my noggin for my interview next week
Oh gee, anything I cleaned today would need cleaning again in two weeks.
it's just a testament to how deplorably bad my apartment is that i have to start this far in advance
: O
besides, i'm starting now the process of throwing out everything i can before my chicago move this winter/spring
So the move is a definite?
well i got another interview invitation, from northwestern (!), so i'm feeling way more confident about next week's interview
and the other 2 schools i applied to there are my backup schools, so...
That's great. Don't throw out your warm clothes.
oh no, i would never do that, my folks live in florida
but i have stuff that's been in boxes for 5 years, so it's time to get rid
No, I meant warm clothes, as in clothes you wear when it's cold
oh, yeah, those i got in spades, bought a bunch when i moved to NYC, now i will just need a few more!
hey, whattaya know, I guessed my password right, lol (at work and don't have my list with me) Hi all! :)

good afternoon everyone:)

Hi rbud and Crossy!1

what?!?! no snow here, thank goodness. Sort of nice except for the wind. Sunny. And I'm at work trying not to nap. :P
we'll keep you awake. :)
ty hego
think the kids are all still in a sugar coma from last night, no one in the library so far today but me.
yw Nan
hego- do you have a clue for the last an 6?
our daughter passed out treats here at the library last night, she had more than 25 little costumed folks - I only had one at the house.
no, Nan, do not have those dang things.
we had 20 -- a record for us
years ago we lived in a town-house community and 200+ was not an uncommon total
wow, crossy! we're up a dead end block at home, have never had much Halloween traffic. No one else on the block, so they don't think it's worth the trip. But that one kid last night got LOTS from me, lol - didn't want to keep it all!
yes - I remember those days -- when we first moved to Mtl.
For those who endure and make the perilous journey, riches await! lol
I used to run out of candy and start giving out pennies.
We have always handed out full size chocolate bars because it was only the kids on the street that came (around 8 or 9), but this year they brought their friends and relatives
yes, he scored, and it didn't look like he'd done so well elsewhere, so he was yanking the mask aside and goggling when I told him to grab a big handful, lol
sometimes I'd steal some of my kids stuff to give out.
:)
we used to pre-make baggies with a like total of candies in each, no chips or chocolate bars as it was too expensive for that number of kids. They go 8 or 9 candies so they could not complain
ma 7, please?
hello friends. this grid is a tricky little bugger
not getting nbt for naught!
when
sorry
very tedious, Trif.
mmm -- mountains near us in the grid, but it is a first nation word, I think, and doesn't count!

Hmmm.........
found the ma7, but not sure how to clue it... sounds like a old gospel singer, Ma*al** Jackson - replace the "al" with not "off" but **

Guess now that all the kid have their treats from last night the big box stores can start drving us crazy with Christmas tunes
nbt
OH, hell. Christmas merchandise started showing up in September in the malls around here. Makes me physically ill.
Winter is a truly horrid season
I like the Season pushing, since I am a musician. I have been practicing Christmas music for a few weeks now. I feel right at home in a fabric shop, even though I don't sew, because they are always looking ahead to the next season.....
I live true winter, not the sloppy crap. I enjoy zervdral winter hobbies
Love
Several
Typing on a tablet can be a pain:(
gives you all sorts of physical problems
I like the part of winter where you stay inside, warm and cozy. Then the bubble bursts and the dogs have to pee

Harp! I seem to keep missing you on Babble. How was your trip?
It was wonderful, Soodle! You live in a truly beautiful and interesting place of the world!
To Ireland, I mean... I'm being very parochial... Sorry.
I haven't been on Babble much lately. I, uh, sort of got addicted to another game.....
Oooh, Harp! That makes me happy. I'm so glad you had a positive experience!
We spent a week in Limerick and then worked our way north. So we'll have to come back and work our way south some tiem!

Hello babbleworld!

miao
Yup...there's a few in the grid...he helped me find them...wanna cat Jane?

Of course, one being a Bombay and one a tuxedo...they have to remain a matching set...LOL ;)
There's a lot of cute kitties needing homes at the humane shelter...several halloween black cats...good luck for us witches
My sister had kittens to give away in October a few years ago. The local animal shelter saw her ad and called to remind her to be careful who she gave them to.
Yah, I posted about that. Some shelters won't adopt out black cats at halloween.
We had a weird happening here our first or second year. A black kitty ran in the front door and into the back family room. Due to that danger, I elected to keep it until after halloween, then look for it's owners. During the night it disappeared...of course one might think it snuck out, but no one admitted to letting it out...
we dressed our two black kitties up as spiders last night:)
the kids loved it!
LOL..great fun!
Jane had 10 times the amount of trick or treaters than I
You have probably given those kittens a complex, crossy
they are both full grown, one is two and the other is 6. They were ok with it for the most part
only kept them in it for an hour or so
any help please with mo7/32. Thanks
My grandson went trick or treating last night, knocked on the door of one house and the child that answered the door was so scared she burst into tears.

Well that is the saddest dog i could think of
I love it!
I thought it might be a sewing term
Sounds more like a knitting term
or fresh doggie doodee
That would be poopdoodle
or some sort of cooking spoon
Or a newsprint clean up
Maybe a poopdoodle is a cross between a shitzu and a poodle
LOL
hi, folks
Did you send this rain/snow storm to us welki?
you are a real sharpei tonight, ru... ;o)
Blame it on the Canadians...
we have it, too, jilly. i thought you'd sent it north
I dane to find that funny penq
Must have been a sweep over from Seattle...I'ts ok tho...hubby wants to ski
ru, did you ever get dylan's allergies under control? i'm back to basics with baxter - sardines or olive oil every other night. seems to have calmed him down (along with that food i found for him)
can't believe i am stooping to this basset level of humor....
That will hound you ruru
you're feeling pretty huskie tonight
Almost. Welki ..he is a lot better.
tribute to pen tonight ->>> lobster for supper!
is he on meds?
Are you now sheparding the conversation jilly?
cool welki!
Yes..pred and anti-biotics
I love lobster..ooooooh
bax was on vanectyl - he's got a standing scrip for flare ups
Bathed him today so he is all clean and poofy
husband and i shared two chick lobsters and a very thick ny strip steak - we work well together in the kitchen
Yum
heh - still have my butter warmers from my martha stewart days (which are now longgggg gone)
yummy!
yummmmm....
<-- would rather have two 1 pound lobsters than one 2 pound lobster
either way for me....love the tails...
I hear martha has a new younger boyfriend...she has turned in the butter warmers for just butt warmers
we're a perfect pair, pen - you can have the tail, and even most of the claws - i like to pick the rest (same with crab - you could have the claws)
'and that's a good thing," ru
yes, the body meat can be the sweetest...just a lot of work...
I won't comment on that one penq

ha - was rooting through the pantry the other night, looking for something sweet for after supper. couldn't find a blasted thing that i wanted. getting frustrated, i just blurted out, "i wish something would just pop out and say 'eat me!'"
Not touching THAT one welki....LOL
Lol..that is a keeper
I get really tired of always being the one to figure out what to eat...
and completely innocent, ru - couldn't have written that line for a million bucks
i hear you, jilly. what do you want for supper. doesn't matter. but what are you in the mood for? you decide. i always decide. that's fine with me .... and round and round and round
all the best ones are welki
My evening routine to a tee...
