beautiful word, too
It's interesting how some words are beautiful to hear or see, with no connection to their meaning, and that certainly is one of them.
I completely agree.
just monkeyed a Yiddish word and it worked ki 6/30
lol my monkeys found that one, but I didn't realize it was Yiddish.
Thought it was Hebrew!
Would you believe that I forgot to include the infamous suffix as a word on its own?
LOL.... sounds like me
No the ki word comes from German for a piece of clothing
I'll think of it next Rosh Hashana! Lol!
I'm out of here - bb tomorrow for remaining 95

no, ty vm!!
It's on likety's list and enable does not able it!

ty so much; you saved me from searching for something, not there!!
I have always seen it as 2 words in re4 life
Finished. Went to the list for the last 50 words, most of which I could have found had I stayed with it, but it's time to get on with the day. Bye

sprite, did you hear from puglet too?
yes darling
Was good to hear from her.
it sure was.
okay....but i am cross with her. it's too soon. her pain must be horrendous.
yeah it is. Poor pugs.
Just hope she takes all the pain killers she needs.
at least she has her friend with her for a few days.
not sure what they have sent her home with for pain control...i am praying that it is adequate.
I told her to get more if it wasn't.
welllll not too adequate. We don't want her to feel she can do a bit of household chores.
lolol...i told her she was not to even lift a saucepan of vegetables...and no straining in any way.
Hope she follows instructions.
what liz said.
nothing heavier than a cup of coffee

omg...on qi....they just asked where is the worst place to be licked by a goat? two answers were the perineum...roflol
roflolollll
that might be my favorite show of all. I love stephen fry and he has the most marvelous panel too
which was the 'correct' answer?
Hi everyone. May I please have a clue for any 'ae' word? Thanks
hi peach, how about the eagle nests?
Oh, thanks, sprite. Hope you are well.
hey ya peach
am fine, thanks peach! And you, yourself?
Just the everyday pain.....seems worse when a front is on the way in.
We are supposed to get rain all day today.
ah yeah, the weather plays havoc with pains like that. So sorry, peach :( *gentle healing vibes*
Thanks much luv.
The answer, Sprite, Is the feet.
another string of hot ones here....fans going into overtime.
ahhhh thanks zooz! Hello dear man. And why the feet?
whoot!!! hellooo zooz
you marvellous man...i see you too frequently.
that is a dubious statement, rose, lol!
ugh...naughty GR...seldom is the word i needed
The feet was used as a form of torture in china. They would coat the feet in honey. The goat would lick the feet (which tickled at first) as the tongue is rather raspy after a while it would start to rip of layers of skin! Nice heh!
poor zooz
Hello, To all :-)
sounds like a chinese torture to me for sure. *shudders*
not my feet you don't...
nor, may I say, my perineum.
I would not normally come out of stealth mode as I am no where near getting the words I need. But could not resist giving you the answer to your question :-)
Oh good grief, Sprite!
ROFLOLOL
I appreciate it, zooz! Rose was too busy watching to tell me, grin.
hi all!! bloody hot day here, went to pick our g/dtr up from her indigenous camp - coming home, the car wouldn't start - ignition has stuffed it.....luckily dtrs b/f's brother is a tow truck driver and was able to come and get the car, but it was a 3 hr wait in 37 degrees celsuis heat. Thankfully all home safe and sound
zooz, we are talking with sprite!!
oh my dear god, dizgrannie... how very vexing!
I don't take responsibility for that. Rose started it. She said 2 answered with perineum.
poor diz...at least it didn't rain too. give thanx for minute miracles.
we were lucky that we had people giving us bottles of water
Sounds like harsh conditions to me, Dizgrannie.Hope you all have rehydrated yourselves!
indeed, diz. So... now a long cool shower and then under the fan with your feet up?
Ah well that answers my question then..lol
lol. I may be bad, but I am not that bad
Sprite...been there done that....lol
hehehe good going, diz!
Goat..perineum...feet up....Sprite...my imagination is getting corrupted here!
Thankfully we had sunscreen with us, cos it was toooo hot to sit in the car, but I still fell burnt to a crisp.
a dirty mind is a joy forever, zooz :) Let that imagination roam... just realise your thoughts shape your future...
you need several long cold drinks while sitting under that fan, diz
I hope it was a high factor one, Dizgrannie!
HIC!, sprite, am doing....lol
yes Zoozz
hehehe on your way to mend then, diz
lol sprite, yep....g/kiddos have crashed it.
:D
Heat does exhaust you though.so I can understand why they have crashed out..lol
hi all.
must go, laterz~!
any clues for the L bottom left corner?
Hello, Mkg :-)
eire
oops sorry
Toodle pips for now.
{{hugs}} my darling sprite. hope your day is kind to you. xoxox
LW4, Mkg.
mkg, do you mean the bottom right corner? lw4/6...lw + 2 vowels
I a off for a while too.Take care, Rose. And sweet sleeps for when you go :-)
*poof*

and i am outta here. see you all tomorrow's flip. xoxox
Phantom word - haitus
And back for a few more.
You mean : Hiatus, Matty :-)
I do indeed ;)
Very cold here this morning.Same for you?
Good morning.
Hello, Sukee :-)
you are almost in the grid today :-)
I see that :) When, it's a biggie.
Whew, I mean :)
Yes a reasonable size. would be nice with maybe another 200 more :-)
But then I am greedy..lol
Would rather have it tomorrow, I have some work to do today.
Yes it would be nice if it was like the Iron sudoku where you can do the archives. So if you finish the days puzzle and still have time on your hands you could always do others you might of missed. So if you had a busy day and missed the days puzzle. It would not be a problem..you could just click on the archive and select it and play!
I would like that.
Me too!
HA 5/22: Doing Babble now / So many good words to find / Hope to finish soon
Have that one, but thanks
Hello, Car & Molly :-)
HI Zoom
there are absoultely no godly people here with me..doesn't that make me sa9?
I would think so
Some dictionaries out there would support what you say, Rolin :-)
but then enable won't accept the compound word you wear to go diving...
Enable has a lot to answer for.
omg I just spent 5 minutes trying to find the sa9... only to realise there are no 9 letter words :-P
lol
Yes, that happens when there is a mention like that in the grid : D
LOL I must admit I also looked for a while.
Or the chat, that is
lol..sorry buggie
Yeah, Rolin's fault :-)
worst part is, I haven't found the sa8 that I assume is related
It would be an SA5, Buggie.
clue for the tu 7/32 plz
It would of been a compound word if enable allowed the word.
Poor Buggie, so led astray
yes, I have that, but there's an sa8 just after, or is it not related?
Not related.Buggie. that one has to do with money.
Not got that one yet, Ivesy.Sorry.
np zooz...
okay, I can stop reapeatedly typing in the most godly and the feminin godly, in the hopes that I made a typo the last 50 times I typed them in...
lol
tu7...Starts with Egyptian king, ends with last two of twinkler and there is a VOWEL in between those two parts
Nope, there is the Chicago transit in between, sorry
ty molly..whew..
Reclue...Egyptian king + first two of Santa's helper + last two of twinkler
American related clues are generally not gotten by many here so I'm trying to figure a way around them.
Ty Molly
your clues are great...never have a prob. getting the word...
I feel thick as I have never heard of twinkler. And when I googled it little japanese children came up?
Thanks zoozzoom, I feel a little less thick ^^
and that calls for coffee... and for those who smoke.. a puff or two.
Twinkler, in the sky...
Oh duh Thank you now I have the word.Thank you, Molly & Sukee :-)
aha, thanks, not an easy word to clue
Agreed.
is wetsuit the last we7/48 please
It is not an acceptable word in the grid.
ty sukee I was wondering whether the word was a blip on Lickety or was there another we7/48??
It is a blip on Lickety. Lickety has the list count at 401
ty molly
It is a good idea to compare the two list counts before you spend a lot of time searching for a word that won't do you any good. It doesn't happen often that the two lists are off but more so when there are big grids.
I assume lickety uses an updated version of enable?
Something like that Zoom. I'm taking bets on how many times we7 is going to be asked about today. Winner gets a chocolate cake.
and yet we have the money from equatorial guinea that nobody has ever heard of and isn't part of the English language...

Good morning
Hi River, phae, Annie, Trif, Molly
Another lazy day gor me too
I am so bored
I am bored at work, river, which is killing me...if I was home, I could be SO productive....but instead I am trapped here...longing for work where I set my own hours
Hey Trif: Cape to4/8 Co6?
hahahahaha grant!
Productive is not possible for me right now
Trif, now that Mr. Bich has retired I am having trouble telling what day of the week it is
How is the healing coming River?
Great but still need to be careful
Did you have surgery River?
I did on jan 2
Get better soon
All went great. No more pain. Its weird because I still expect pain.
River, Are you still get PT?

No worries, we should have a ha5 contest
Good one
Although the limerick contests are usually funnier : D
Sorry to hear that bichon. So much better these days. This was a biggie but incredible how the pain I had was gone immediately. Surgical pain was not bad compared to what I had.
Taking a break. Have a great day.
Should I be seeing the cr7/36 (the last one - not the meaner one) more easily?

I tried reslain, but I guess you can't kill some twice. But you can be deader. ;-)
:)
Happy Friday, peeps! Woot Woot!
Judi is a happy camper!
We got a new puppy last night. I may very well lose my mind!
what of puppy?
how's that going?
Husky mix. 18 month old female. She is a gentle, sweet, quite (so far) angel. She has pale blue eyes. We have named her "Luna".
best of luck with Luna.
nice
How old?
The cats are NOT happy about it. But, they will come around.
A new dog! Welcome, Luna!
Hi Scrabs
phaeton, I read your comment about being deader. That word always makes me laugh.
Ty, Scrabbs.
:-)
Hego, I finaly got off the phone with my mother. She was telling me about her dream last night which included both her mother (so she spoke Italian with her) and my father.
Bless her heart!
deader than a doornail !!
lol Flo
In the dream my father walked away and said, "I'll come back" and my mother asked her mother why my father always says that.
True, Flo.
dreams are so weird
I have very detailed, vivid dreams just like my mother.
I seldom remember a dream - sometimes I have a conversation but hubby can't make any sense of it because he can't hear the responses
My mother dreams about the people she misses--her parents, my father, and other already deceased friends. At 83 more and more of her friends are dying off.
ah scrabs, I hear you there
she is my age, coming up this year
My mother's brother will be 92 next week and he has outlived everyone. Hi wife died in Sept at 92.
Cousin Earth, are you here lurking?
my mother was in a nursing home at 93, when her youngest sister died, I think that was it for her, she died days later
..just earthlings lurking
lol Hi Ru
hey there ru
Hi Ruru. How are you and Dylan doing?
I never looked at the word total, I just started typing. 400!
uh huh :P
hi scrab.. fine..new year.. lots of work. today is going to be a long day starting soon
I will XC-ski or snowshoe later.
ru, new report: red wine is as healthy as going to the gym!
hmmm
Damn! Wish I liked red wine.
Should be good for business, anyway.
<---opens wine bar next to treadmills
Judi, drink Concord grape juice or take a resveratrol supplement.
lol good idea
Ruru--people could stand on an idle treadmill and drink your red wine.
judi doesn't need to be reserved at all.. we like her the way she is
I'll take the resveratrol supp with my white wine.
Judi is not reserved.
Yep. No reservations required.
Perfect, Judi!
there you go Judi!
lol
Preservation is always welcomed though.
Alcohol is a good preservative.
<---depravation here
That's my beauty secret.
Well, bathe me in pickle juice and call me forever young!
:)
then we'd relish you forever judi
Yes Judi, brings a whole new meaning to the word pickled
Oh look Dr. Rabbit is here! What were we going to ask yesterday?
anyone have ek 6?
Book of the month: Tequila Mockingbird.
lol hego.. hi all, just popping in from lurk mode.. windy here, ergo the internet goes off and on, so I've been babbling away while I can. Nice to have a "biggie" today.. later gaters!
lol Judi
ek6? sticking around for a mo
Was that Aloy that just dashed thru?
yes, it is!
ek6 - looks like a jumbled up musical instgrument
teeny tiny guitar in Hawaii hego ek6

I just noticed that K up north.
ty
ty ruru.. newbie for me! ok, time to poof.. hope to see some of you later..
Back for more
Hi Bichon
Hi bunny mama
Have you dried out and warmed up yet?
Remy snuck upstairs when I came down and moved the gate. After bothering his brothers at their gates he finally came back down.
lonely?
That was so funny, Bichon, when the ice cracked.
Wish you had a photo
there was a footprint photo
My sister and I were laughing as I crawled across the ice to the other side of the creek.
It's all worth it if you can laugh after all
I laugh whenever possible and encourage everyone around me to do the same.
me too!!
haler
Yikes!!
Grazie, Hego, I had not started on the H yet.
lots of ha's
Hahahaha
haven't done that for a while.
I did it earlier with the ek word
Free clues are always generous and appreciated.
My monkey is looking for ku- and ki- words.
2 kh
You have monkeys as well as bunnies?
I found the kh- words.
Imaginary chimps here.
*wonders what else is in Scrab's imaginary worlds*
ke 4/8. Actor in 2001, Space Odyssey
I have rich inner life
I found that one, Bichon.
Ruru, I am strongly introverted so I live in my head a lot.
must go. bbl
ki 6/30, little cat, different last consonant
You don't sound introverted scrabs. You have so much fun with others
TY, Bichon. Bye, Hego.
We all live in our head...that way there are no arguements. ;-)
But I require much solitude, Bichon.
yw
Yes, phaeton.
ty bichon
hi,all. loving the grid, today! I'm down to 24 words
congrats angelsong
il6?
242 for me, Angelsong.
199 left for me at the moment
half way. Not so bad so far
no il6
il5/12
oops il6 sorry
lol mlf you are stuck on 6
There is no il6, MLFAN, but il5 = condition when the bowel is asleep or at rest.
the intestine is restin
:-)
lol ruru
Yes, Ruru--after surgery, or after gastroenteritis.
can we break it down please and sorry for the confusion i was thinking the right thing and typed the wrong

I have finished the vowels. And I will go so far as to say... Damn them all to hell.
Damn vowels!
lol judi
the 0s are awful
And, I submit that if one is without rabbits, one is "hareless".
i tried that as well
Valid, Judi!
You have read "Watership Down" scrabs
Yes
i have 214 and have greyed 4 tiles
I have 215 and greyed out 5 tiles...*sigh*
there is one that is a synonym of the rabbitless word
h word phae?
A homophone, phaeton?
someone who benefits from a will...he4
then add the minus word
And being bald is a word
not having oxygen is ai7
hi all
could be...couldn't remember the diff between synonyms and homonyms...lol
and homophones and antonyms....
clue for the ru8?
Hi J
Not to be confused with momisms. Like, "keep your elbows off the table".
the horniest deer phaeton
sad to think of scrabs rabbitless :-(
anyone have the we 7 please
i can remember antonyms because of the anti part
I tossed in the to5 and went to lickety
*groan
I don't think the we7/48 exists
it's extra word
it's supposed to be wetsuit but enable doesn't recognize it
oh.. thanks.. I thought wetsuit would work but apparently not
good try ruru
it will recognize new Guinean currency though
is it in the grid?
Pffth.
angel what was your cousin's name who passed away in Cozumel? I can't find a report on the diving accident?
Global currency words are always accepted and are so difficult to remember.
found my missing w.. and wi 7 is appropriate for me
Angel?
good clue ru
You are never wi7, Ruru.
rotfl ruru as soon as you made that comment i figured out what the word was
what about the other wi7?

No, it actually paints a good picture within the mind of all those asy, juicy words hanging heavy on the babble tree branches just waiting to be plucked as we ignore those larger fruits on the upper limbs so tantalizingly out of reach for the time being.

Well-said, Crossy
Well get me a ladder I want to climb the branches :-)

ok, taking second pair of pups out to pee in the coooold rain . . . ugh
It must be peeing down there then, Une :-)
It is not so much the story itself, but rather how we must put the play under a microscope to glean intentions and meanings whether they are really there and intended, or just happenstance merely unsubstantiated vapors of literary historians dreams. lol there or not.
Gah.. my mind...
I need a stiff drink...
Nah a nice cup of tea would revive your mind :-)
I settled for some iced tea;)

Oh, scrabby, I meant to tell you; I was out for a bit of a hke yesterday and actually saw 2 jackrabbits:) It was Nice to see. they were heavily hunted in this area in the 60's and 70,s and up till recently have been a rare thing to see.
You are very close, Rastapopolous!
Have you ever seen a snowshoe hare? I have not. But I love seeing all kinds of animal tracks in the snow in the woods. It makes me realize how many critters live out there yet we rarely see them.
I love how the jackrabbits looks so angry all the time;)
yes, i have seen the snowshoe hare;)

ah geez, what hego said
Peaches, Al, with chicken? (Just read your profile) - that sounds...novel
bye hego, later
It's getting too weird. :)
oh, that was a good recipe I printed for someone.. it is delicious
thought that ended in us
forgot about it
got it - ty
nope, that is another word nan
I think I'd go for full fat chicken stock though :)
like, a break in things
try it matty.. you will like it!
reminds me, I should update my profile, ty for the reminder
I might struggle to get peaches this time of year (though maybe not) - though am still dubious about the peaches. I like peaches, mind you...it's just the combination I'm uncertain about :)
I am so clueless when it comes to the sciences
maybe some canned peaches?
the flavors do go well together, though I would understand your hesitancy
Ergh - I'd go for fresh (ish). I just showed it to my partner - he seemed keen - might well do so!
Tinned peaches come in syrup and so are VERY sweet
You can get peaches frozen.
but aren't there some in juice instead of syrup? .. ooh, good idea Bzzn
I shall check for peaches. Don't delete the recipe please!
ok, np
The canned peaches I buy are in fruit juice.
You can also rinse any packing fluids from them.
The frozen ones are good, but defrost kind of mushy. So depending on what you are making with them, that might be a problem.
I never buy tinned fruit so I've no idea what is available. There are probably fresh peaches imported from somewhere far away in the supermarket
I can get asparagus, for crying out loud!
Molly, I shall probably regret asking, but what is your profile picture objecting to? Feeding babies? Spoon feeding babies? Weaning babies too early?
"Spoon feeding, in the long run, teaches us nothing but the shape of the spoon." - E.M. Forester
don't see what that has to do with babies
I would hazard a guess that Molly's icon isn't ,ea
I'm guessing (and Molly, please correct me if I'm wrong) that Molly advocates letting babies feed themselves?
meant to be taken literally... , but of course, I could be wrong
i.e. not spoon feeding them?
As in spoon feeding babies....
Or, of course, Soodle may well be right :)
I don't think the concept of spoon feeding in Forester's statement as anything to do with babies
Agreed Nan. :-) And hello everybody.
*nor to do with food, but rather with encouraging indpendence
hi Soodle
Two cluing questions - ir7/28 (not the one that means most angry) and ku5/20?
ku 5: change first vowel in a smooch and add a vowel at the end
without anger
Thanks - it would have taken me forever to get that
ir7 is the one without anger
Well, let us just say that it's hard to find an image of someone spoon feeding an adult.
Soodle, always the clever one you. : D
le 8 please?
Here you go, Molly! http://tinyurl.com/qy47oua
Aaaah - I got most angry but not without anger - thanks!
nm - found it
Soodle is far more clever than I am - sorry Molly!
Yes, but I think an image like that would have raised far more questions than this one.
No problem Matty. I should stick to puppies, kitties or the swinging mouse.
raising questions is not necessarily a bad thing....
I had fun looking for it
Well penquis, I agree, but you know...
i enjoyed your quote...
Speaking of spoon feeding, can someone give me a clue n the le8/40?
nm, got it
I'd quite like to be spoon-fed. I like the idea of somebody else preparing my meals, feeding them to me, and then cleaning up afterwards.
ra 6-7 combo please?
do you also like the idea of someone telling you what to do and when and how to do it?
Oh NOW she gets it
most like the le 4 that precedes it --dumb word
now I get what?
I was referring to Matty
Yes, yes I got it, once I realised babies were not relevant :)
LOL Nan. I was married for 19 years. I am extremely familiar with being told what to do and how and when to do it.

I thought gin was the devil's drink (I like gin. The devil has all the best tunes)

OK this probably is spoon feeding, but how about the re7 and 8 combo?
Yes, that's it. The whiter shade of pale.
Humming A Whiter Shade Of Pale...
vestal = chaste
Soodle and I are sharing a brain today
wow if that is a clue it is passing me by
Vestal = chaste...no wonder I can't spell it : D
i maintain they are vested in the system
Think of what a chalk board is made of. Add re to it. (Num num Matty, here comes the airplane)

Hi, soodle
Hey Jaxx. :-)
Everything good at soodle's abode?
6 degrees is balmy?

6 Celsius
Compared to recent temps, Heck yeah!#

No complaints here, Jaxx. Well - loads of complaints, but, I will suffer in silence. LOL
Hey Molly - I miss that re every darned time
And you?
Ah yes, I always forget about that Celsius thing
devon is supposed to be balmy but temps have plummeted to - 5C
I am so cold. In bed, covers, pajamas, Jeff doing a crossword, and I'll get a cross word from him if I put my iceblock feet on his legs
There's no central heating in the bedroom - only a space heater
maybe its warm in the pb
;-)
Oh I'm so glad Jeff has been upgraded from OH. I kept thinking that meant Old Husband
Things have gone on as usual. Simon has lost his job and the house is being sold. 2015 is more of the same old same old.
it doesn't?
oh too bad jaxx
Ha ha ha! Nah - old husband becomes officially ex (I hope) next week when I can get (or apply for) the decree absolute
Matty - buy a hotwater bottle to replace husband's legs.
Not husband :) We have a hotwater bottle somewhere - don't know where it is.
mattygroves, I saw a you tube about making a heater from a tin can aroll of toilet paper and rubbing alcohol. It is supposed to heat a room amazingly well. Try it and see.
Soodle, Matty is living in sin. She is one of us. : D
it's always warm when the house burns down
I am. So very much. We've both been married, just not to each other (though Jeff's been divorced 18 or so years)
I am sure there was a bad fairy at Julie's Christening. She took the house on because of the SS and now the house she had is gone and the one she took at the SS insistence has two months to go.

What's up w/EK6? please.

Soodle still talks to me and I am from Orangemen stock, far worse than living together.
Irish orphanages in the 30's and 40's were not fun, to say the least. Kudos to her for surviving.
But Jaxx, I'm still (technically) married to someone else - not only fornication, but adultery. I shall burn. BURN I tell you ;)

I agree - very bad idea.
not starving, just running around. and not waning fast or jink food, just trying to get home to cook
I'd just be too hungry!
if yu were busy? like, had to run to catch train, no time to gra food. then had to run to stock up before storm, no time to eat.
if i am very busy, i forget abut food.
Carry a snack bar?
You could always bring something with you to eat.
Still, I understand what you're saying.
i did - i eat breafast on the train in.
Whew. Only 2 more s's - but still 50 to go.
and ne of our new colleauges made fruit cake and he shared it to get our opinion. it was soaked in b & b,but still weeis from mellowing. no wonder i forgot to eat!
b & b? brandy?
oh yes.
Now that sounds very good :)
What sort of storm? Rain? Snow?
We had 40 cm of rain yesterday :( Much brighter this morning and some of the grass in the paddock behind our house is visible again.
yes. raisins, walnuts , cherries, cranberries, citron, cinnamon, brownsugar, molasses
Ooooh! Yummy. But I'd leave out the nuts!
i'd skip the raisins and add pineapple! oh, and it had dried mango
I'd go with either of those.
and reduce the molasses
Too sweet?
no, too molasses - y. it was blackstrap
Never used molasses - so don't really know the flavour. Assumed like treacle.
Hope you gave your colleague this feedback and it was appreciated.
