corolla ascent sports 5 door hatch, automatic
very nice. What color?
it's metallic burnt orange with dark grey interior.
bet you are super excited!
it has so many extras up from the base model. we both are very excited. the seats are so comfortable.
That is the most important fact - that the seats are comfy!
are they heated?
well for me, yes. i can elevate the seat and with my wedge cushion and the back almost fully up, i can feel the seat cradling my back.
hmmmm, can't remember. must ask don. mind you heated seats are not really needed even in the dead of winter in melbourne.
we also did not opt for satnav. it costs too much to up-date the maps. the portable ones we have are more than adequate.
since I hurt my back, I do use my heated seats year round. Garman works as well.
Sounds wonderful!
maybe once the FM is under control i will need more heating....at the moment i feel i could heat a whole school.
LOL
yup, just stand me in the corridor and i will radiate heat enough for any ducted heating system
too true
Well, I am off till the flip. Have fun tomorrow with your new car!!
sweet dreams dee. xoxox
and to you, ((rose)))

ob5/16, and g'day zooz
Thanks.And hello, Rose.
good morning all
so close to me going. {{hugs}} sprite
hello darling. Finally managed to grab some sleep in the morning, sorry to have almost missed you.
have taken meds. i am pretty tired tonight.
*hugs* When it is time for bed, just go. We will email in the mean time, and I hope to be here earlier tomorrow.
sorry hin. i guess this business with the workcover agent has me more upset and stressed than i thought.
small wonder. Any news from your lawyer yet?
no. i will have to phone on monday. he probably has been in court all week. mine isn't the only case he is handling.
I understand that. But I also understand you are stressed out by this.
at least the pain doc is next friday. not long to go now.it's a wonder ik have any fingernails left.
too true. *very warm supportive hug* I am with you all the way, darling. One step at a time.
remember when it was last november and we knew i wasn't seeing the doc until march?? i've made it intact, thanx to you, liz, don, ruby, pugs, flosey, dee, the list is endless.
having a big circle of supportive friends means you are a great person, sweetie.
such a nice thing to say. thanx hin
just stating the truth, grin
so what's on for today?
and it has been a very long haul for you. Now one more week, it is doable, you will make it through in one piece. And with your mind intact.
not sure yet. The livingroom is still a teenager's den, they are cuddling under blankets in their pyjamas, watching (yes, for real) the Flatfoot dinosaur cartoons. So cute. There is alot of pastasaus and pasta left. Guess I will put it in an ovendish and serve it tonight, with a salad or something. Will keep it simple. And I must shop. And hang up the laundry.
not too much, honey. please take it slowly. glad Caya's party is going so well.
it is a big success, am happy for her. And I will take it slow, darling. Won't spend much time on cooking with all this food still good and usable.
that's a bonus, sweetie.
yeah :)
ah man, tiptoe is a phantom :(
so is wapiti
oh I tr5 that one too. Well, first I typed tapiti, then remembered it was wapiti, I saw the W and was certain it would work... then disappointment, lol
okay, eyes starting to close here. bye sweetie. hope your day is okay. {{hugs}} xoxox
night darling, sleep well, dream even better, *hugs*
Good morning, everyone:)
tadone! finite! good morning, crossy
Morning all
hello, lurking
Hi Ruby, how are you today?
got my drugs, so pain is way down. Thank you for asking. I apologize for being such a whiner yesterday
That is good. You had every reason to whine :)
The doctor didn't call back 'til 6 and then the pharmacy didn't have the drug
Well, glad you are set now.
And now it is time for Crossy's picture of the day!! This one was taken in Glacier National Park B.C. I just found it very interesting. http://tinyurl.com/onnxdap
((ruby))
howdy, sukee
Cool picture.
{{crossy}} I could hardly find the double hug as it's been so long.....
No pun intended.
not quite half, but too tired.
*woof*
oops, I'll take my nap in the PB
((crossy)) great picture.
:)
Ruby--how are you doing?
not very well, but hello mimi, nide to see you
((mimi))
even nice*
I've sen some posts about you not being well. I'm so sorry you're having a tough time, dear. Here's hoping things improve. XXOO
I just popped in for a minute and must leave to get my work done. Have a great Friday, everyone!
Cold, cold, cold here again. But next week is going to be closer to 0
Just in time for the clocks to spring forward.
right at the minus 18c/0F level here, but only a bit of windchill at minus 24c:)
-27 here.
beat me by three degrees:))
bbq at my place then:)
I wish we didn't :)
It's going to be -2 by next Tuesday
It'll feel like summer.
yup, same here. By Tuesday it will be just about at the freezing mark:) We can break out the sun-screen:)
Vet called and said it's time to take the cat in to get weighted. I told them I'll be in in a couple of weeks, not taking him out in this cold.
weighed
I know he has gained quite a bit of weight back anyway.
It is the same thing every spring. We will all be out in t-shirts and shorts because it is 8c, washing our cars, cleaning our yards, and standing with our faces upturned to the sun like bedazzled sunflowers drinking in the suns rays.
poor kitty. We have had a tough time this year with out three cats
lol, I just want the snow to go away.
our*
we have one ginger med haird cat that is about 15 pounds, the other two black short-haired cats are 8-10 pounds each
they all eat the eact same food
exact
Mine seems to be eating all the time. I give him about a spoonful of the wet food and the dry, this seems to work best. If I give him too much wet his stomach seems to grumble more :)
1/3 of a can wet food each twice a day, and they free-range on bowls of dry Iams hairball formulae
Just started reading a very depressing book. It's Alan Cummings autobiography. God he had a miserable childhood with his father.
I also have the book Moriarty on hold at the library, I'm next on the list :) I put about 6 books on hold to download at least 6 weeks ago. I just hope they don't all come available at once.
Do not know who Alan Cummings is, but I do not care for depressing books:(
Actor, mostly theatre, he was in Cabaret. He hosts Masterpiece Theatre now.
He is Scottish.
Moriarty sounds like an interesting novel, obviously about Sherlock Holmes enemy.
Indeed. Stories from his point of view would be very, very inbteresting.
interesting.
There is a book I have on one of my e-readers that I must get to. It is called The Last ring. It is by a Russian writer and translated into English. It tells the Lord of the Rings tale from the Mordor point of view.
it is an unauthorized version of course. I do not think Christoper Tolkien gave his o.k on this one.
I also got a free ebook through Library Thing that I have to review. Called Secondhand Memories. I thought it was a graphic novel but it's not :)
I'm sure he didn't.
It is one of those books written on a phone, that was a big trend in Japan.
Cool.
I am not into the "comic books for adults thing" but my son used to read them all the time.
For what I have read already it seems so zen like.
I have so many books waiting to be read on my reader that it is insane. i will never catch up:)
Think I have over 600 loaded into the internal memory of the thing
Well, now that your course is finished you should have more time to read what you want.
Well.perhaps. I have starting in on my own novel once more.
How far along do you think you are with it?
I am volunteering at the school for now, as I can polish my resume there as well as at home and have been editing the first section of my book.
I am 3/4 done, but am buried in the endless edit mode atm
The novel sat since last september, so editing the three sections I had already finished helps me regain the "picture"
Well, I have to go make something to eat. Talk to you soon.
tc sukee
There is one final section to be written of 20,000- 30,000 words, then the final edit can happen.
I hope to finish at about 90,000 and edit down to 80,000 for the polished product
good morning friends.
Howdy, trif
hmmm. nbt is going to be a bear today methinks
Hello kids. Trif--you gift of flowers is beautiful.
*your
can you even????
what a difference a new boss makes!!!
Your new boss did that for every teacher?
In many ways, scrabbler, I feel like you get it more than anyone - having dealt with Richard head and all...
no~!!! Just for me, and the other para in our room
I fully understand, having finally left Dr Richard Head (and many beloved families) and starting anew. I work with such nice, thoughtful, supportive folks.
me too, now...
I have far less frequent Richard nightmares, but they still occur occasionally. He was a bully.
as was she. I DREAD the inevitable day when she comes to visit, and we all have to act like we missed her.
Silent stares are best with bullies.
Or no eye contact at all.
I plan to forget she ever existed.
Great idea. Mostly I think about the people that have chosen (unwisely, but out of weakness) to remain working for Dr Head.
bell is going to ring soon - see you third period!
I'm missing something. I'm guessing the flowers thing is a Facebook reference.
Good Morning Babbleamerica
No, she actually got flowers!
But I didn't see anything here about flowers, so I'm assuming the comment was in response to something on Facebook.
Nice, not many people get flowers from their boss.

the other dr5/14 is a oddly spelled past tense of what happens when something falls
and yes, perhaps it's because I read too many murder mysteries set in Egypt? Somehow there are always a lot of dh4's on the Nile...
got it ty uusue
Well, with the help of Lickety I finally have nbs; time to get some more work done. Also, now that it is warmer outside than it is in the freezer (which was not the case earlier this morning) I had better get the dogs out.
bbl...
Bye, Sue.
Hello, all. Very bummed out. I just heard on the news that Leonard Nimoy passed away.
Oh sorry to hear that, ((Judi))
He had end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Yes. Horrible disease. Formerly known as emphasema. My grandfather and uncle both had it. Both were long time smokers.
Both my in-laws Passed of that. Both long-time smokers of over 50 years;(
Sadly, my brother is headed down that road. Knuckle head.
SAd.
when i was a child on TV doctors, real doctors not actors, would suggest smoking because it was GOOD for your health. my dad would say "they are wrong" and he told me never to smoke. he and my mother smoked and he told me they were addicted and it was awful.
It was not a pretty picture. I got to watch M.I.L go on oxygen part-time, then full-time, and eventually she drowned on her own fluids. fil was 74 and mil was 72
i could use a clue for the other O word for the O first column. i have ow4. what is other one please?
wow. never mind, i just got it with monkeys. wow.
Yep. It's a long, slow suffocation. Miserable way to die.
both my parents died from smoking related illnesses in their 80s. i plan (hope) to make it into my 90s....i want to see my grandkids get married. that is my plan.
Good plan:)

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Out of practice.
This is a brutal grid.
18 left. But who counts?
hello...
i am done.... :oD
Hi Pen.WTG hin! :)
I've just come on after months and debating whether to start this grid?
Hi, lilliann.
Great to see you back!
((Jaxx)) great to see you hin.I don't know if i'm back...thinking about it :)
How have you been?
Should i start this grid?it's small but probably deadly!
I have had a problem with my parathyroid and the calcium balance in my body. Going to see a specialist next week.
hey, lilliann.....long time no see!
the grid was not as bad as i thought it would be...
I think you should give it a miss. I have struggled all day and still have 33 left
Pen, have you moved or am i just confusedf...doesn't take alot lately
How's your daughter?
i have not moved....i changed my pic....it's a pick of the frozen harbor in my town.....my frog will be back... ;o)
Thanks Jax, maybe i'll go back to tidying up my craft boxes instead then. How's everything going with you Jax?
The SS are still hanging on to my daughter etc. Her man has lost his job and the landlord has decided to sell the house. So things are no better.
I still see your frog Pen.I love the frozen harbour, but probably not nice to all of you that live there.
Sorry to hear that Jax
You are a brave woman tidying your craft boxes. I find when I do that I lose track of where everything is now.
The bairn is fine...typical teenager
I have had to stop buying craft stuff as I have no more room to spare for new stuff. I used to send cards to Afghanistan but most of the men are home now so no demand for my masterpieces.
I'm the same Jax :) My lounge floor is covered in boxes and i haven't a clue what is suppose to go in what.I'm sat on the floor and can't even get into my chair! :)
For me it is fabric...I'm a abic whore.
OMG Jax, i didn't kn ow that.good for you hin.x
I'm a fabric
Velvet or satin, Bea
Cotton and wool
Nothing wrong with that. Good sturdy natural materials
LOL Bzz and good to see you.The bairn is into sewing, she does textiles at school G.C.S.E level and she has boxes of fabric and my mam sends loads of fat quarters to her so i need to buy more boxes for her and we need another craft room
I work in a quilt shop...Like a kid in a candy store.
I'm glad to see young people entering the craft/field.
The problem is, i like card making and jewellery making and am now into home decor which is big here, but for me and the bairn is into sewing and now started to knit so she's got me back into that too. I need another house
I was a textile department technician for a while. I loved it but as my one time Domestic science teacher said @ You are a clot and an idiot and I won't have you in my class for 'o' level. All because it took me three terms to make a pair of shorts.
not@ but'
Oh, jaxx! I'm sorry she was so ugly.
The bairn and my mam would love that Bzz, as my mam lives in France and she is in a quilting club as they love them over there.
I have a huge box of thing that are started but not finished.
No, merely accurate. I cpuldn't cope with fabric but I could dismantle and repair a sewing machine.
Jaxx, sorry hin, she was a bitch!
couldn't even
Saying that, i'm crap at sewing and everything i sewed at school my mam had to unpick.
We are always looking for good service people to repair the machines we sell.
And not doing Dom sci sent me to Chemistry instead. More boys and more interesting.
It doesn't matter wjhether you were good or not Jax,she should have told you in a better manner
Hubs has commented that he thinks I love my sewing machine more than him...I'm not sure he is wrong. =)
:) Bzz
probably, but she did me a favour as I earned my living from Science for over 35 years
I think i would have preferred boys more than sewing Jax :)
Good for you then hin.
You found your love, jaxx, and that is what is important.
The best of it was when I went back years later she asked my opinion on some knitting competition. I don't think she recognised me or the irony.
Time for me to fix dinner...Good to see you both...bzzz...
my first boyfriend was in that group and I recently met him after more than 50 years. He is still as gorgeous as he was all those years ago.
Hey, Lilliann, look at the time. I am off to my bed hoping that tomorrow's grid will be a little kinder. Take care of yourself and those craft boxes.
Bye Bzz.take care hin
Sorry hubby was texting.
I'm going too.Bye Jax, it's great to see you hin i hope everything gets better .x
Good evening, everyone:)
hi crossy
How is penquis this fine ,chilly evening?
We are set to go down to minus 21C...brrr
5 on the ole F scale:( No skinny dipping tonight:(
mm, that is not right. I am losing the knack of converting to F in my head
ahh. I got it it will be MINUS 5 on the ole F scale;))
It gets to be like trying to figure out cubits:)
i am ok....thanks....you?
it's 9 F here...
Doing well. With no more classes left to take i feel adrift though:(
Might have to actually get a job and work for a living now:))
ha!
you can always take a free course at coursera.org....
Nah. If I want to I can take another credit course at school board learning centre we have in town if i get too bored
I know that there is a media arts class comning up soon for example.
ah....always an option....
coming*
sounds interesting...
Frustrated that my dental issues isn't allowing me to sing for awhile. However, am listening to the most glorious CD I've heard in quite some time. I highly recommend the new Diana Krall CD "Wallflower." She normally does older songs but this has more contemporary songs and she does "California Dreamin" even better than the Mamas and the Papas....this CD will transport you emotionally.
sounds nice....i have a Christmas CD by her....saw her in Montreal years ago at the Jazz Festival....
She is absolutely exquisite. Did you know she is married to Elvis Costello?
As a singer who is classically trained in voice, when I say someone is exquisite it is a high compliment.
((mimi))
yes, i have seen her perform with Elvis on tv...
((crossy)) Am a bit melancholy tonight. But it's all good...totally transported by the music...my favorite state of emotion.
One day I WILL sing for you!
Then it is fine. Becoming one with the music, and being lead where the artist is voyaging, and seeing what they wish you to see with your mind's eye is an evening well spent.
I always loved seeing the expressions on the faces of my audiences....when they're really riding along with you, it's amazing.
You will love this as a writer Mimi: I had to put the novel I was writing aside last September to free myself up for the university prerequisite English course I just took. well, this week i was able to revisit part one of my book for some editing. I found over 300 grammatical errors, and a untold amount of awkward phrasing. in the end I removed 400 words and added 1100!!
I always did at least one a capella song in each set and people got very quiet, unused to hearing just the human voice without instrumentation.
I know what you mean, crossy. I'm having more trouble writing my book than I thought I would. Much joy but also much pain and hard to revisit both.
Pen...I'm so impressed you are familiar with Diana, btw!
It has been a journey for me as well. I have three out of four parts of the book finished, but I can easily see editing of those three parts taking a year before I even get to the final part.
It's very difficult doing an autobiography because I've decided to let it ALL out and really lay myself bare in this book. It's the only way a story of my journey could be authentic and speak to others.
Of course mine is all fiction, so my journey is different that yours, Mimi:)
Diana Krall was born on Vancouver Island, B.C. and I know some of her family. They are a very musical family!
How wonderful, diane!! If you speak to any of them please convey my sentiments that she is absolutely amazing. I love Barbra Streisand but I honestly love Diana more...she has more soul in her voice.
There styles and genres are very different...I like them both, as well as Celine.

There's just something about Diana's music that completely reaches my soul. This new CD is absolutely AMAZING. (Available on Amazon, btw)
Wallflower ?
One of the things I relate to about Diana is that she does much that is "before her time," and I love that music as well and it is before mine as well. The writing was incredible (Johnny Mercer, Cole Porter, the Gershwins, etc.) And she uses and upright bass....total shivers.
Yes...Wallflower. You will be mesmerized.
I just came out.
It just came out...whoops! Sounded like I was stating something that isn't true!!!!
;-)
Although at this age and writing the autobiography, it would just make me more colorful!!
OK---leaving now to totally immerse myself in the music. Good to chat with all of you. Have a great evening....another martini, please!
good evening all.
