Hi all :)
{{hugs}} and hi liz girl
hi & bye Liz :) Enjoy the grid!
Hugs Rose - how are you today?
Hi and sleep well Dee
sweet dreams dee
thx, you, too!
liz, we didn't make it to the movie. :-(....but we did spend some extra time with don's sister. as don said, she goes away next thursady. anything can happen.
That makes sense. The movie will wait and it's good that you spent time with Don's sister. Did she seem in good spirits?
You'll still get to see the movie another time.
diets
oops - sorry
yes she did. and she loved the copies of the two pics of parents which we took with us for her.
That was a lovely thing to do - where's she going away to?
vanauatu and new caledonia. the same cruise don and i did a few years back.
Sounsd lovely for her - relaxing I'd think.
she is now in remission following treatment for melanoma.
this jeanette, not fang.
Happy that she's in remission - how common is that for melanoma?
I realised not Fang - though I saw a few days ago that Fang said thanks to you.
she is one of the lucky ones. usually it's way too late for the people in her age group.
brb, need to consult menu for take-away.
Another piece of similar good news - a friend of ours is in remission from pancreatic cancer - that's really unusual I think.
Hi there ((Liz)) and ((rose))!!!
Hi Mimi and hugs Mimi - how are you?
Are there really another 100 words in this grid????
Staying up a bit later tonight but I'm well, thanks. Yes, very unusual to go into remission from pancreatic cancer....but how wonderful.
it is awesome - he was able to go to Germany for stem cell treatment - so I reckon he had the best possible chances given him.
back...yes liz it is unusual. and g'day mimi
Happy to have caught you, Mimi. Haven't chatted for ages.
I do not at all understand why some people object to stem cell research and use...seems like it can really help a lot of people.
Hopefully it's working for a friend's daughter who has leukaemia - but I haven't heard from her for a while and I don't like to bother her.
I've been missing everyone, either too early or too late! But glad to see both of you fine ladies.
I think that the US clock change makes it easier for us to catch up with you.
But my state (Arizona) doesn't change, so it's very confusing twice a year!
OK - I know what you mean. Queenland doesn't change either, so today we travelled an hour to Byron Bay, which is in New South Wales and put our watches forward, then came home and changed them back! Well it was my phone and it altered automatically!!!
I don't think I've talked to either of you since I took in another stray cat...he is the sweetest little guy and totally beautiful. But this is it....4 cats in a one-bedroom apt.....
mimi, i am with you on stem cell research and use. even biblically there is nothing against it.
That's so lovely that you rescued another stray but I agree - you should stop now.
I also see nothing wrong with it.
Anything that helps save lives.
*giggle* and where do you sleep mimi?
I don't understand why people don't just always donate organs when they're dead...it's not like they can take them along to the other side!
lol
Well, I know this is really THEIR apt. and I'm just allowed to live here and serve them.
because some people believe if they don't have their full complement of whatever at the last trumpet call, they won't be resurrected.
Good of them to let you in. Happy you know your place - lol!
We saw a pod of about 30 dolphins today - all swimming together in a tight group. Never seen anything quite like that before.
wow!! 30!!??!!....would have loved to have seen that.
my absolute favourite crittur in the whole world, and don is next....col
One year when I lived in L.A. and went whale watching, I saw a mother and her calf simultaneously breach right in front of our boat..amazing.
I've seen large numbers before but not swimming in such a tight group. I was thinking of you, Rose, how you'd have loved watching them. We also saw some turtles too.
That's such an amazing sight, Mimi. Love watching them breach - and a mother and calf too, is very special.
either of you seen the video clip of a boatful of people trying to free a whale completely entangled in nylon netting. just incredible
I miss California every day of my life but it's too expensive to live there now.
Yes, if it's the same one. That's such an awesome video clip. I've seen it a couple of times.
We pick up netting, glass etc - things that are left lying on the beach.
where the whale puts on the incredible display after she is freed?
I saw that, too....love to see a positive story for a change.
Yes, that's the same video. I loved it. Felt so good seeing it.
ditto, liz
Seaworld here do a lot to help whales trapped in the shark nets here. It's such a double edged sword. Whales / sharks.
Well, ladies, getting close to midnight here so I guess I should try to sleep. So good touching base with you!!
Sleep well Mimi - good to catch up with you again.
sweet dreams mimi. awesome to see you dear
;)))
I'm also outta here for a while. Hope to catch you later, Rose. Hugs, anyway to both of you.
{{hugs}} liz girl. may be here. not sure.
hi rose, been here for an hour, 29 to go and will leave them for tomorrow - if I can sleep - if not, I'll be back

The snow has disappeared from my balcony.
Drain surfing is highly overrated:)
thanks peri. I am in the library right now, and I can tell I am seriously pissing off the students who are trying to study. I feel so bad about that.
wow sukee! Did you ever think it would? I saw my driveway pavement for the first time in MONTHS yesterday. Just a slice of it, but it's enough!

Just a quick to my babble friends message from me and i shall dive into this grid; I am Humbled and delighted over the fast response to my profile posting. Ever since my new post was added in my profile over some chog issues I have been having, I have been flooded with e-mails from Babblers! It has warmed my heart as i slowly work my way through the piles of mail and reply to each person. It is nice to know that what I do is enjoyed and wanted. I am beginning to see that the negativity I was getting in here is just from a very tiny cross-section of two or three babblers who perhaps need more of my tidbits so as to thaw the ice that sheathes their own hearts. Thank you all:))
my god. I cannot type today:)
brb tea time
I missed all this, but I LOVE your tidbits, crossy!
crossy, so glad the majority agree with what you do and share!! yay!! (although I'm not at all surprised!)
need to get going -- good to see all of you -- HAGD :-)
I love them too.
have a good one, une
crossy, i hadn't checked your profile lately, but be assured i truly enjoy your tidbits and would miss them greatly.
Keep on doing what you do Cross - You are very dear to the majority of us.
bye Une
Aw Crossy - I've been in New Zealand and have only just read your posting. Can't believe that you've had negative comments to your tidbits and postings. How stupid is that? Carry on with them - they're fun and often very informative. Don't let the negative ones grind you down.
just noticed my favorite flamingo fan is babbling right now.....HUG
I do notice some get snarky and only want the chog to be filled with people asking for clues. I come here for more than that.
mm, nice and strong tea.. well, the ayes have it!! the tidbits and quotes and other snippets I post in the chog will remain!! I have over 50 emails and counting and my in-box is overwhelmed. I promise each will get a reply and I thank you all. I warms my soul to know that most babblers are truly amazing people!
tea sounds like a VERY good idea right now....
I'm off to make some breakfast.
my email count on new mail is rolling like an odometer! hehe. it is funny to watch!
Ha ha - just emailed my comment to you Crossy! Thought you'd gone offline!
bell is going to ring....much love to all
More fors than against, I reckon, Crossy
Drive through vote for crossy - will email further comment later (((crossy)))
Hello and Goodbye Chrissie

{{crossy}} Ruby loves your tidbits and you!
We're off to the hospital in an hour for husband's surgery tomorrow. He doesn't remember what's going on.
((ruby)) my best wishes to you and your husband. What surgery?
double hernia with general anesthesia. Thank God for my friends who are schlepping us around as the clinic/hospital is 1/2 hour away, too far for me to drive

Hello everyone
morning car!
All is well, judy. Am at school in a teachers aide capacity atm.
like it, crossy?
it is 4 dyas to term exam and the kids are in full panic mode;)
it is something totally different for me, but I am enjoying it;)
ugh! glad I'm past that testing stuff!
and now, back by overwhelming popular demand, it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!!
The skeleton of Jeremy Bentham is present at all important meetings of the University of London.
I'm laughing outloud. Where does it go in between?
Good grief
if you google it, you will see they keep him in a cupboard with French doors and open it up during discussions
and does he (JB) make the decision of what's important? hmm--a story--he's in a special place and they go to HIS place when the meeting is important enough. My daughter went to the U of London--wonder if she saw heim--
here is a picture of mr Bethams new residence....
http://tinyurl.com/8kpb35
who says the english don't have a sense of humor? or is that the Scots--
I am sure she had a visit with him:)
tred
He is marked down as "present" when they do attendance for the meetings;)
you've made my day, Crossy. That and your email. You're reading my book the way it should be--here and there.
attar
sorry, back to the grid. Must be daylight savings time, throws us off.
Hahaha, Crossy. Thanks for that tidbit.
yvw Scrabby:)
Once again I must thank you all. The positive comments and responses are continuing to flood my in-box and I am humbled by your support. I am reinforced in my mind that 99% of Babblers are a very special group of people, and ones that I am proud to associate with on a daily basis. I will continue doing what I do, and introducing you to Jeremy Bentham is a great way to do this.
Jeremy lives on.

Hello, Crossy :-)

And back. Thanks for the email, Crossy :)
Howdy Liz. I thank you for yours as well:))

Hi TO.
Actually it has taken a bit of time and a lot of typing but I finally have my in-box all tidy--for now:))
It was sincerely meant, Crossy.
no idea what rounders is
think Toronto Blue Jays....
Similar to baseball, Nan. Played in school in the UK. 4 bases, bat and ball and you score a rounder - like a home run.
ty pen
Babblers like you ,Liz, are the reason> I had a really good one earlier. Had to do with a London university that holds meetings with a mummified professor in attendance. lol
yw...
Yes, I saw that this morning, when I first looked at babble - before I speak to anyone - lol! Really interesting. Had no idea.
I love latching onto really interesting ones like that. it gets the chog humming along:)
Do you keep a record of all the tidbits you find?
last di 7, please?
Not much use this morning. I don't have that either!
No, I do not. Have been doing this for over four hears now, and it would be quite a list:) I just send them back from where they came and go off and discover new tidbits:)
