hi Rose
hi flosey
flosey, how are you? and the family?
good thanks Rose, all is well
my new med is such a blessing. even if i do wake during the night i am able to fall straight back asleep.
very glad to hear that rose
that's amazing, to get back to sleep so readily after being wakened
i go in as a day case for 10 hours on the 24th of this month. and the workcover agent has already approved doc's request for the pain patches for my knee. * big grin *
that's great, Rose
seems to me the patches hit the right spot much faster than taking pills
darling, i finally feel like i am getting my life back. when i awake in the morning, i am actually capable of making a decision and follow through and get a long-standing task done.
doesn't that make you feel sooo good!
so normal, at last
* smiling * yeah. i used to hit the floor running so to speak, at about 6-7am every day. fast getting that back.
wonderful news
now if we could only sort your he4 out so that you can fall asleep deeply and beautifully. but if we do, i will have to email you...lol...and that's not really a problem.
that would be heavenly, Rose
aha, finally got the he7
i cannot believe an anti-epileptic med could change my life so much. i so wish we could find something to help you.
yes, something other than sleeping pills
- that make one lose memory
* giggle * i was nearly ready to slap my gp when she said ... well as you get older you need less sleep...and im sitting there saying, if i need less sleep why do i feel so tired during the day?
you'll have to write her a letter and post date it so she'll read it when she's 60 - wonder if she
would rememeber
remember
oh, flosey, do you remember looking at your own parents in their 60's and thinking how old they were? and here i am, and there you are way ah5 of me...my eldest is 40 this year. i remember 40...waaahhh
well, at 40 my kids were 11, 9, 7, 6 - my mom was much younger than I, when we were those ages
slight panic here...i cannot find my credit card. bbl
good luck
could I get a clue for the second de6/24, please?
is it d & a well known planet?
start with term of love de4 + **is or **at
lyn's clue much better. g'day lyn
That is it thanks
hi Rose - lovely weather
credit card found....just waiting for he5 rate to settle.
much more comfortable, lyn. how are you doing, dear?
very well - just getting more enthusiastic about doing some stuff around the house now that it is cooler
but for now a long walk for Stew is in order - BBL
enjoy, lyn. lovely to see you. xoxox
dinner ready. bbl. xoxoxox
good morning
Is anybody here?
i am darling. how are you coping? how is burt?
Burt came through the surgery well, but was in recovery for hours. He said that he was all fixed and could come home today. I spoke with his surgeon this AM and he said tomorrow or even Sat., so then Burt and I had the usual fight. He hates being there, but the longer he stays, the better for e as there is no way I will be able to get him up without help and I think that post-hernia surgery, walking is important and I can't risk re-opening my pleural tear. (selfish moi!0
Neighbors are being wonderful - bringing me soup, driving me around.
not at all selfish, tu. glad that burt is through it all. but do not allow hospital to discharge him until he is fully independent, ruby. you simply cannot take the risk, with either of you.
hi guys
it is a constant battle i have here. don has a torn tendon in his shoulder, and everyone expects him to be capable of all sorts of things.
g'day sandy
Hello Sandy. I owe you a long letter, but probably not today. Thi has been a tough winter
sorry to hear burt is in the wars, just make sure that you take care of yourself and hi rose , i have been playing lately but not chatting as i find myself getting too addicted
ruby, list all the things burt was capable of doing for himself before his surgery. take it into the hospital and tell them this is what you expect of him when he comes home.
you both sound like you are in the wars - remember my daughter Nicky? She is the one with the fused shoulder- the plate broke through her skin and she had to have it removed and now has to have the whole refusion again , so I guess we are all struggling against something
oh, sandy!! what a wretched thing to happen!! your poor daughter. i feel for her, and you
Ruby, can you get some help in the home? We have an organisation here called Silverchain do you have anything like that?
who ever said life would get easier.....poor Nicky
Silver chain nurses come and will bath the patient and administer care ect. We also have provision for cleaners to come and help in the house and for meals to be delivered
Yes poor nicky.... just got to get on with it I guess.
How is the weather for you Rose, are you in the path of any cyclones?
it's hard to watch our kids so traumatised either emotionally or physically. i pray you keep strong too, sandy. how long before the next lot of surgery?
About six weeks , it is hard as she is up in Perth with my mother and I am down here in Margaret River but still I just go with the flow as I guess we all do. I try not to focus on the bad
a bit of a hike, but doable if you are needed. how old is Nicky?
she is 40 now , all this has really ruined her life but I keep telling her that life has so much to offer you just need to reach out
On the up side I have a little grand daughter who is 8 months old and we all love her to bits
sweetie, i am so sorry she has to go through this. and yes, that is one way to look at it. but it is hard to be positive when you feel like hell. oh?? did i know this?? i don't think so...i try to keep tabs on all new grannies. it is so lovely to be a granny. i adore it.
I feel bad that I haven't chatted for ages but I do keep my eye on you all. I have to go and feed the horses and do their waters, collect the eggs and water the vege garden and get the alpacas out of the horse paddock ...la la la ...Keep safe and take care - give burt a big hug from me Ruby! Lovely to talk I will try and chat a bit more often so bye for now
xoxox sandy.
I haven't been chatting a lot, just my usual whining, thee past few months.
But the flowers are starting to come yup and things are starting to get leaves SoSpring must be coming, after all.
RUBY!!! now you stop that. you are more than welcome to tell us your woes. especially if you have no ot5 outlet.
It is so strange having to deal with hospital, doctors and nurses in French I keep having to learn new vocbulary
you are my hero, ruby. i couldn't do what you are doing.

off to have breakfast, read the daily - and go into the village to shop
nm, got it
Snail mail has become very unpredictable as far as i am concerned. for example , I had a letter i had to mail to Toronto and it took over 5 days before it arrived, but I had a second letter mailed out to Edmonton, and they got it in two days!
We mailed something to Antigua and it took a month to get to them
lol crossy, one can never predict!
I once had a Christmas postcard that took 4 years to get to me. it was hand delivered by our carrier. They told be it was found wedged between a wakk and the back portion of a hand sorting table. Seems they are hand sorted when a postal code is not used.;)
wall*
email is so handy, but personalized birthday cards are so much nicer
off for sure now, hubby just started a fire in the fireplace and has gone out to fetch the daily - it's left in a box at the road, have a great day everyone

Who? What? Hellgate?
I think . Harp.. cut back on the meds .. just a little bit
Or increase them.
Just got back from Arizona yesterday. Gorgeous warm weather. Took in some spectacular hiking. And the tequila wasn't bad either.
That's my alma mater, Judi. Hellgate High School. They are seeded 1st in the state boys BB tournament.
I'll need meds if they lose....
spring training judi?
Ah. Hellgate is an unusual name for a highschool. Let me guess. Their logo is a devil.
Nope. Hellgate Knights. Named after a landmark in the area. Look it up!
Nah. We were just there on coincidence, ru. Could care less about baseball.
The Knights of Hellgate. I think that was a Monty Python skit. ;-p
lol
crap.. I pictured you like Susan Sarandon with a big hat..flirting with all the ball players
with blond hair of course
Well, I was wearing a hat in the hot sun, if that makes you feel better.
yes
did you do the bathtub scene with the candles?
:-))
:D
Was chatting with a sales girl in a shop and she asked if we were there for spring training. When I told her no, she said, "I don't get that whole cactus league, grapefruit league thing. What does that mean, anyway?" Amazingly, she wasn't even blonde.
I don't get the grapefruit thing either .. too pithy for me
Off to do some chores. Later! *POOF*

Have you had your hospital appointment yet or is that later this month?
Off to bed now. Sorry I missed you jaxx. Take care of you x
howdy!
Good evening my friends:)
And now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day!! (I promise, only two tidbits in a day; one in the morning and one at night...well, perhaps with the odd inspiration quote tossed in... and maybe a dirty limerick or two if I am in my cups one evening, but that is it)...
More Monopoly money is printed in a year, than real money throughout the world.
and most of it is British £s.
Glad to see the tidbits are back. Way to go, crossy
Night all. Just passing through. tc
tc, Jaxx, and have a good night
mm, odd ae5/12 word I cannot recall having run into that often. Seems that it is a type of mosquito:)
hi all, glad I checked in.. still have 9 to find! hope you all had a thundering thursday
hOWDY.\, ALOY
lol. crossy is typing with all ten of his thumbs
howdy crossy!
am listening to golden raindrops.. we need them so badly!
We have yet to have our first rain of the season.
been in the plusses yesterday and today for the first time, but back down to minus 8c for tonight
I cannot remember the last time it rained.. probably some ice cold rain last October I would imagine
hello...
Howdy, penquis
aloy, do you play at WordSplay?....someone with your name does...
I cannot wait till we get out first good thunderstorm!
ooch.. our ground is so dry.. hi penquis.. are you kidding.. someone has the name "aloy" or aloyisius?
aah.. yeah! harder rain.. hope it keeps up
rats, seemed to be a passing cloudburst :-(
aloyisius or something close to that....
h'mm, no.. I did "Words for Friends".. forgot my handle.. I just stick to Babble and Scrabble and FB and email and that is about all I can handle in a day without becoming glued to my chair
get so many requests re games, but I think the requesters get points for that, so I don't mind.. I just don't respond
wahoo.. another cloudburst.. sorry if I'm boring you, but I am so delighted
no problem....i was just curious when i saw your name there....
of course.. maybe I will check that site out.. do you play?
Do not worry about rejoicing the rain. You should see all of us Canucks on the first true day of spring. We are all outside in shorts(even though it is only 10C) standing still with our faces upturned to the sun, and tracking its arc across the sky like desperate sunflowers seeking nourishment.
(-: I can understand that, crossy!
yes, i play at WordSplay....i have only seen two names that i recognize there...
it's very different from here....everyone plays boggle at once in a timed round....
sounds interesting.. I noted the site
but like I said, I'm hesitant to get into anything more that takes up computer time!
i hear ya....
help with RE 6/21 (last one) please

No wonder it took me so long to find the last W word I needed. It is such terrible English that the mind revolts just spelling it! wo6/30= more of a bad thing(like a young child might say it)
Though it may have a different meaning altogether
LOL crossy.. that is my last word too! fw and I am outta here.. see you all tomorrow..
bye!
I'm liking this grid.. Evening Babblers
tair
*waits till christa hits 20 words left*
he7 please?
He7/36 is pt of he6/21.
tx -- weird, eh?
Definitely! Tried it and it worked. 😀
well.. if you're in a he6 .. you're definitely past tense
Good point.
Good Evening and thanks for that clue!
it's likely a grave situation as well
good one ru.
ruru, crossy tried to pull a ru this morning--said so--but he left off the "dammit!" Hi, Nef! and all.
ah.. imitator!!!
Hi RoundBarn. How are you tonight?
I would guess some people urn a ride in a hearse
Somehow, the idea of crossy trying to pull a ruru--- I can't imagine that! :-)
fell asleep after writing group, woke up at 10 30, thought it was morning!
LOL! That sounds like something I've been doing lately!
I guess you could look it up way back in the chat--there's a way--but I saw it after he'd left, or I would have told him it wasn't complete. so stayed silent.
I was trying to carry on an online civil "discussion" with my cousin and fell asleep on the keyboard! I had a lot of gibberish; he didn't appreciate it!
yeah, I better get to bed so I don't mess up tomorrow. Instead of discussing a book in our tiny reading group, the lawyer in our midst is taking us through "wills" For our usual good food we're "letting the church ladies do it."
Now that sounds lik it should be interesting.
Our next session will be end of life issues. They are all alot younger than me. Then we'll go back to books.Penelope Lively coming up.
seeing as how my kids have no inclination to deal with any of this (except get the book done for gods sake mom) I figure I better take it into my own hands. My will is so outdated, etc, and lots more choiced for how you want to be he*****.
I was wondering if you were all writing your obituaries but thought that that sounded a little too crude
Mine's already written--at least the tomstone--written by my friends--"It's Around Here Somewhere."
Personally, I know what I want; but I'm not sure what needs to be in a will.
It's all spelled out on the internet--we're all to bring our laptops and the template per instruction from the internet. I can forward Pat's directions if you want them.
I hope it's complimentary! (I'm afraid some of my friends would put that I talked a lot - but was the quiet one in my family! :-)
Sure!
mine is all dressed up and nowhere to go
Well, that's good news, ruru. Then that means you're still alive & kicking, right?
so far
I sounded off to nef t'other night about people I wartch on the chat--usually I lurk and watch--sshe didn't respond to my email so I thought she might disagree with my remarks--but you--ruru--were close to the top. Maybe at the top. Present company excepted.
Seriously, I always wonder if you don't have any valuables (other than a house, car, or other mundane stuff); do you really need a will?
yes, to divide among your children. You can't leve to your cat, by the way--it can't sign. You have to leave it to a friend of your cat--one you trust.
RoundBarn, I've got a half-written response to you; but between trying to sell this condo and helping my daughter pack & get her out of there (and she's made an offer on a house too that she wanted us to advise her on) I haven't finished it yet.
close to the top of what?
I'll send you what I've written so far….
my problem, I have things I value and don't want them in a dumpster--what do I do with a collection of 500 v old childrens books? I mean Elsie Dinsmores and St Nicholases. They can sell my cello, but who wants the collection or can even house it? Or know which ones are valuable?
CLose to the top of fun, ruru. (She was very complimentary about you
the top of the list of people I like on the chat, ruru--I confided in Nef on an email.
oh.. thanks
I like to make people laugh
not everyone gets my humor however
I'm always kidding around.. it's my nature
your humor is my sort. My favorite author just died--do you know his humor? It's your sort. Terry Pratchett. I am grieving.
no. I don't .. I can check it out though
maybe I can quote my own tidbits of the day and imitate crossy :D
he was only 66--the major seller in UK till Harry Potter--but his are adult books and you have to know something. And be able to get his humor.
Okay, RoundBarn; I just sent the first half of my response to your email. (I'm sorry, I never know when to stop in emails.
I have never heard of him either Round Barn, so I'll have to check him out too.
he had early onset alxheimers, yet has a final book coming out soon--he wrote his own epitaph, according to the Wall St Journal. Dont read his masterpiece till you've gotten to know Sam Vimes, the head of the Watch. Try Jingo--
that's too bad then
horrible disease
thanks Nef I'll go read it and then go to bed. Goodnight, Nef and Ruru. Ru, your ridbits might be fun in a tidbit challenge with Crossy. His was v funny today.
That's so sad about him developing early onset Alzheimers. Especially in a writer.
I might call them Rubits
night RB
Good Night, Round Barn. I'll work on finishing my emails!
hard to go to bed when you guys are on. But I'm leaving, not being able to think up a pun to go with rubits--it's a good one in itself. goodnight, I'm gone, if I wait for the flip I'm lost.
GO, RoundBarn! :-D
ANd I like that, ru; rubits fits!
