{{hugs}} my dearest sprite.
hello my dear friend :) *hugs*
how was your night? any better?
pugs says hi and to tell you she thinks of you a lot and sends you hugs and kisses and holds you in her prayers.
yes, a much better night, thanks. Was a bit scared to go to sleep, so I slept late, but after that, it was pretty good :)
and you? How was your day?
church, then pretty quiet. we watched the hunger games...mocking jay part one.
ah, I have those books waiting for me. Was it any good?
nail-biting....can't wait for part two.
awesome! Will put them back on my reading list, lol
pugs is doing much better, btw. Swelling is down, pain as good as gone. Things still going strong with R.
how wonderful. i was going to email her tomorrow, her sunday.
she will love that, darling
when are you going out for lunch? or have you already been?
no, will go in about an hour from now. Lol, Rob and I just spent some time trying to come up with the names for their children. Isn't that awful?
dreadful!!
indeed. Well, we remembered. Thank God.
good for you!!
how is your body holding up?
okay. even my hips feel better.i was supposed to double the dose of the tegretol two nights ago, but i am still sleeping through.
wow that is so awesome. I am so so happy for you.
and no yucky dreams for over a week. something of a record for me.
more sleep, better sleep, no yucky dreams and less pain... you must feel like you have been given a truckload of energy!
Rose, could you please point me in the right direction for the S6? Last word.
sa6/21down right diagonal, then up 2 right diagonal,
right, there it is. Thanks darling. Fireflies.
WTG SPRITE!!! a nice liitley before you two go out and be spoiled.

Howdy, Annie:)
Hello there, crossy
Z's are zapped:)
g'day, everyone
hi welki
Howdy, Welki
hello again
I'm down here because THE HOUSE IS FREEZING AND BECAUSE I'm SO TIRED, I CAN'T GET WARM
hi ruby, how is Burt? Better take care of yourself, please
((ruby))
Burt is home and I'm making him stay upstairs, schlepping his food up etc. because I can't help him with steps or walking.
Good day to all.
He did very well with the surgery etc., but has lots of pain now
hi, ruby and scrabbs
Howdy, Scrabby
morning, scrabbs
{{annie, crossy, welki and scrabs}}
Ruby, I didn't know he had surgery. How are both of you doing? Well, you are cold and tired. ((Ruby))
ruby, get someone in for a week or so to take care of Burt so you can take care of yourself
No separate heaters for upstairs, Ruby?
he had a double inguinal hernia and needed general anesthesia, risky at his age.
Annie, I spent a few hours with Isla's family yesterday and she is so damn cute. She is doing ok in kindergarten and will remain in the same integrated classroom next year.
The bathrooms have radiators but the bedroom is basically unheated It's healthy for sleeping....
He will improve slowly. Keep him moving.
The housekeeper comes in the mornings to walk the dogs and make a fire and the visiting nurse will come every other day.
scrabbs, I hope Isla does well in first grade. Many years ago they wanted to mainstream Bobby in first grade. He would have been one of the first in NYC. It was a trial run. I didnt want to put that kind of pressure on him so I did not allow it. Instead he went into early education and did pretty good.
I also enjoy a cooler bedroom.
ruby, right now you need someone 24 hours for a least a week. I had someone (wonderful woman) stay with us for 3 weeks when I came home from the hospital. It will save your strength.
Annie, she is doing well with letters and the teacher expects her to read soon. Math is very difficult for Isla though.
Ha! I have been struggling to see words in this grid and just noted the total of 84.
scrabbs, Bobby did okay with reading and understanding what he read. Math was soso but money and knowing change is not so good.
Hello everyone. Happy Sunday
Hi Car
Hi car> :)
Burt's 2nd great grandchild is named Iyla (that's an I!)
Funnily, they named the newest baby Ruby, but B's granddaughter, who has no contact with him, didn't realize we had a dog by that name
What are the odds, Ruby?
I was tickled!
Your dog channeled herself!
50 to 1
:)
She was certainly much-loved
Annie" I'm lucky to have this much help. It is very hard to get people here
((ruby)) At least you have some help. Do they have agencies in France where you can hire an aide for a week? Maybe
aspic
we're too far in the sticks, I'm afraid, but so far, I'm managing

Woof, Eh? in Canadian:)
hahah
TY, Crossy. That is not a word I would see.
I am missing 1 W word...is there an odd one?
car...do you have the wh6 that ends in the sometimes vowel
We actually do not say "Eh" as much as the rest of the world thinks we do. it does, however have at least three separate meanings depending on the conversation. It is used in "don't burn the bacon eh?' when seeking agreement or conformation on a topic. it is also used if we do not hear you, as in " Paul! take out the bloody garbage!! " Eh, dear??" it is also used for conformation on an observation as in "You are going to be in so much trouble when the wife sees those pics of you kissing that girl at Hooters posted on your FB page, eh?" lol
No...looking now....
Got it! T
confirmation
ty
LOL Crossy

Whoops...that sounded braggy...not meaning it that way at all.
up early cause the cat peed on the bed ...
laundry
bad kitty
Oh no! That sucks
Old cat or misbehaving cat?
it's actually my own fault
Did you squeeze the cat and make the pee come out?
i have 2 cats, one is a very naughty one who's been trying to jump onto the top of a cabinet to knock the pictures off
i banned that cat from the room, so of course that means the other cuddly one has no "litter box" access because i didn't open the door before i fell asleep
:( You may just want to move those pictures for a bit.
56 to go for me and I see nuffin'.
the freaking cabinet is 7 feet tall
Look for regular words....
I know, but if the excitement is gone, maybe the cat will move on to something else.
is what i'm afraid of
for the record, I am very jealous that you have that kind of ceiling space!
hi all.
Our cats. have learned to "knock" at the bedroom door to be let out. The door itself does not close tight against the frame so there is a bit of a gap, and they have learned to tap on the door rhythmically with their front paws causing the door to bang annoyingly in the frame:(
it's a standard ikea wardrobe thing, and there was just enough room at the top to line up with pics
Hi TO
crossy has 9 foot 2 inch ceilings:)))
I am so jellie.....
Showing off, crossy?
hello,car.
sa6?
All the apts on the first floor have high ceilings. all the rest on 2-4 have standard 8 foot ceilings . Whenever we visit other, we have to stop ourselves from ducking because it feels so closed in.
lol, jaxx
I found it! SA + dictator Idi's last name (with a different first vowel)
I need help with CO 6 please?
TY, Car
nice, thx car
co4 before it + abbreviation for "down under"

Here to assist....
Hi jaxx. How are things today?
fun grid
It is?
Yes, but too little. Leaving way to much time for chores....
Hi, Chrissie. Much the same but I am keeping out of the way while he watches the Grand Prix. It is like watching paint dry.
nice weather we're having.
I will XC-ski in 2 hrs. We must use our snow as long as possible.
I'm having a coffee and babble break :)
I was supposed to be printing out our boarding passes for tomorrow's flight but I got sidetracked. It doesn't take much where Babble is concerned
Your energy leaves me breathless Scrabs
I am energized by being active in nature.
Are you flying up to Manchester jaxx?
how did your hubby's check up go, Chrissie?
yes, we are. it is too long a journey for Nigel to drive up, the train fare was horrendous and the coach so slow.
It was good thanks. Discussed surgical option but both john and the consultant think it is better sticking with medication route. Review in 12 months.
Are you staying with family?
Hold on, Husband calling. Something about lunch. I will have to go. Glad the check up went well. We are staying in a travel lodge just down the road from my Auntie's. Got to go - sounds of annoyance from downstairs. bbl
Hi folks
hi bichon....
hi pen
Scrabs, you have a day of x-country?

Howdy, y'all!
Judi, are you back?
Back from AZ? Yes.
Looked like a great trip.
Glorious weather. Trip shortened by one day due to storm, but we made the most of it. Beautiful hiking in Sebino Canyon.
Glad you had a break.
i tend to think of FLA for warm, need to consider AZ
Really like it out there. So much more interesting than Florida. Would like to winter out there in our retirement years. Unless they run out of water.
Tuscon area is so beautiful. So much outdoorsy stuff to do.
No beach, though.
Lots of natural swimming holes in Sebino Canyon! Water's a little chilly from the run-off this time of year.
I would like to see it some day.
not much to lie on the beach. pool is better.
We drove up to the ski lift on Mt. Lemon. At the top (9,125 ft) there was some snow flurries!
Great trip.
Vacations are never long enough. *sigh*
true Judi.
Hubby informed me that he's going to a conference in San Diego in July. Trying to figure a way to join him. Must start playing lottery now.
You would love San Diego.
Have been there before. Nice to visit, but too expensive to live there.
Loved the zoo.
Could have spent a week there.
Yes! Gorillas were amazing.
Aren't they though?
And the Mexican food is to die for.
Ah, yes, the food.
Always an important part of any trip.
Another place that's supposedly going to run out of water. Oy.
I know. Mimi is worried.
Rightly so. I think they need to build some de-salinization plants on the west coast.
I agree. And soon.
Unfortunately politicians are too busy ripping each other apart to do anything constructive.
I'm sure it would be a regulatory and EPA nightmare to even get such a thing started. God forbid any jellyfish get sucked into an intake pipe.
Like we can't spare any jellyfish.
Must go. Great day to All.
*holds up "save the jellyfish" protest sign*
Poof!
I think sea turtles are the only thing that eats them.
i think perhaps they eat them in japan?
I don't think they are edible... to humans anyway.
They are just a global nuisance.
morning all! right column done
Huzzah, Dan! Anyone have a clue for the Sa6?
FW!
YAY, Hoya!
congrats!
Monkied it. FW for me too!
congrats!
sa6 - alt spelling for "to voice out loud" + ***nie mouse
Japan has an initiative to try and work out how to turn jellyfish into edible tasty food products .... hmmmm!
congrats! i monkeyed it to death too!
hello, ata!
woo hoo hoyamd
that co6 was a bear too
hello :D
Hay all!
On my tablet so wont chat much. Hois this grid?
hi stiddy!
Hello, Ata and Stid! More power to the Japanese on the jellyfish initiative. May it have as much success as the soy bean.
(((Hugs))). Long time no see... Love the dog pics you post on fb
I think i have had jellyfish once or twice. No actual memory what it was like though
(hugs back) I'm still adjusting to having another dog than Hobbit, but Loki is a little brat sweetheart monster puppy and I love him to bits
Blech. Perhaps dehydrated jellyfish? Jellyfish fruit roll-ups?
its meant to be slimy and tasteless. hence the trying to "beef" the flavour up!
Peanut butter and jellyfish sandwiches? Um... no.
LOL Judi!
hello,stiddy
Jellyfish as5/6?
jellyfish as5/6 in pet foods?
Off I go to run some errands. See you crazy kids tomorrow! *POOF*
Hey to!
Later judi
bye, judi
Oooh. Nbt already
Loki seems to be a real goofy guy, for sure. I am starting to think about getting a new critter, but honestly with teaching full time now it may not be the best thing.
Anywya, should go get a fewthings accomplished so I canrest this afternoon. The next few weeks are going to be grueling.
he really is. he's fun and silly nad not very intelligent but sweet and loving and likes to sleep on my head. sigh! but you're right, you have to have the time.
have a good afternoon! *hugs*
Lovely to see you! Back later to finish. ((((More hugs))). *poof*
bye,stid
i love seeing loki frizz up when wet. i can relate. )
LOL! he really does :D He's actually draped around my back getting himself dry at the moment (and getting my back equally wet!)
you've had him quite a while.
he's about a year and a quarter now
just learning how to be a dog instead of a puppy
i am still petless. i think about it, but life seems too unstable right now. perhaps need a pet sitting job.
hi all. any clues for the 6s? i have only one of them: as 6. need clues too.
we have a good initiative over here which matches petless people up with those who need someone to help walk their dog / pet their cats etc. always seems like a good plan
co6: think o f oceanagrapher jaques. remove the s
Good clue! I was just looking for that one.
it's a business here. but i cannot do dogs because i don't know enough about them.

Glad to help
Good afternoon, everyone:)
hello there!
How is phand this fine, sunny afternoon?
Good. Quite blustery here. Rather a Poohish kind of day.
and you?
Not bad at all. Went for a nice drive in the hills now that some of the closed roads are open once more:)
nice! what did you drive?
My son adored The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh when he was young, so I get the "Poohish" day reference:)
I brought my Jeep up a few of the seasonal only side roads. A bit squishy and crumbly and some heavy drits in the shady areas still , but passable and quite fun.
drifts
was it warm enough to have the jeep open?
I could have removed the T-top, but I did not . too early year. 4c and sunny is nice, but not with the top open:)
yet*
Yes, that would be a bit chilly still. I am looking forward to taking my Miata out for the first time.
The Miata's are very cute, but we will not be travelling the same roads:)))
You would need a shoe horn and some lube to fit my carcass in a Miata:))
My soft -top is a 2-person P.I.T.A job, so I prefer just removing the frontal "Freedom Top" panels. The kids can play with the soft top and take the doors off if they wish...If I ever let them touch it that is..;)
can i get a clue for the last a word? already have a5/14 and a6/24
I had a friend up north years ago. he had a old Jeep cj, and the top had rotted years before, so he just threw a tarp over it at night and drive it all winter long wearing a snowmobile suit and ski goggles:)
You do this with a weapon before firing...
perfect thanks
you Had the tougher ones, but missed the fish:)
In a car sales showroom, some years ago, I sat into a truly lovely little red 2-seater MG. I asked my ex how I looked.... And he just said .... 'You look like Noddy'! I have feared 2-seaters ever since!
I LOVE the old MG'S
the early ones, the older MG tc 3's
A nice British driving cap and yer all set
Agreed, Cross. But to be compared with an Enid Blyton character took some of the gloss off it.
lol
And now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day!!!
In 1527, John Rut of St. John’s, Newfoundland, sent a letter to King Henry VIII—the first letter sent from North America.
...undoubtedly asking for a government handout
My brother lived & worked in St Johns, Newfoundland for 12 years!
Everyone loves the Newfies:)
I bitterly regret not taking the oppertunity to visit him while he was there
hi everyone
didn't know who 'noddy' was, so looked it up ... for those who also never heard of her, http://tinyurl.com/6s475w
and i think noddy is cute :)
noddy is a he, I think, and his car was yellow and red. He was a very helpful little chap and, soodle, quite presentable.
ahhhh - i can see a 'he' now, rather than a 'she'
how're you feeling, jaxx? been a while since i've spoken with you. last, you were going for some tests
On another note, my husband's great grandparents were among the first to go to Newfoundland and establish fishing villages. one was lost in a drowning incident . the present day Sealeys are still represented in Teignmouth and the two sets of relations still organise get-togethers.
Hi, Weiki. I have had a series of blood tests that revealed hyperparathyroidism. A long name for 4 small glands in your neck. It appears I have a tumour on one or more of them which causes calcium to be withdrawn from the bones. The kidneys can store this calcium as stones. I have the option of operate or not. Leaving alone can lead to osteosporosis and kidney problems in about 5 years. Before the great decision I have to have neck and bone density scans. With the state of the NHS i fully expect it to be 2016 before the decision has to be made.
Do you know what you can't o in an MG with th etop up?
I am not sure I am yet old enough to know the answer, Ruby. lol
hey all. (((hugs and choclits)))
sorry, that was naughty
mmmmm... thinking of ruby in an mg, motoring down the van dyke expressway - no footprints on the ceiling!
Hi, stid.
van wyck, not van dyke :D
those were the days!
sorry to read of health issues, jaxx
I ask only that you spare my blushes, Ruby
excuse e for bing bad' it's bee a tough week
are you uncomfortable, jaxx? will the wait be horrible - other than the waiting part?
I feel monumentally tired, that's all
if we were still in nyc, ruby, we could head to wo hop's for supper
tired is not fun
agreed. being tired is the pits.
No, but it could be worse.
true, tired isn't the worst possible issue
other than what i make at home, ruby, i haven't had decent chinese food since i left ny
As I am no longer working it means I can sag when I feel like it.
ruby, how's the weather in your part of the world? It is FINALLY soggy here in the Pacific NW, but too warm to build the snowpack we need, I fear.
I just got up from a nap, jaxx, the time change really took it out of me this month. Hoping the new week will be easier than last!
We haven't had ours yet but no doubt we will miss that lost hour too.
well, under 15. Suppose I ought to list and then get back to work -- going to write lesson plans while I watch TV this evening. Early to bed for me again.
we're expecting a couple of inches of snow tonight - will probably have one or two more storms before spring (which is so short, it should just be called spri)
that doesn't seem fair, welki -- you folks have really been hammered this year.
any help on the SA 6?
I keep seeing apricot, aspirin,...
I have no sixes. sorry

Ha!
i just hope it's not 500+....
We haven't had a real biggie in a long while
true...
If it is 397...i will pass out
lol...
That 744 was really tough
yes...i imagine it was....don't think i was here then....i remember 544 or something like that...
Very confusing with 100 co's
i bet!
Can't remember how many re's there were.. but a ton i think

I think only the crazies did that grid
Like me

i think that's why i try to help those who ask for help....
I wish people wouldn't respond to clues for 4's.. unless it is a really whacky one
i usually try to just give the stats for 4's....
it's hopeless (stats) for some players.. they want it spoon fed
well not everyone is as sharp as others....
i used to test intelligence as a living, so i know... ;o)
and as we get older, we sometimes don't think as fast as we used to....i know that's true for me...
oh.. maybe then.. still.. you can try to find it first for a few minutes
yes, but some days we have more patience and energy than others....what's nice is that one can avoid the chat if one wants to....
I can see weird words like Ofay or nowt or such.. but road?
heh....well i haven't seen that kind of request lately...
oh yes you did
you didn't clue it however. I was proud of you
ha!....thanks...
I think scrabs came to the rescue in that case
well there are some people who need a little more help than others....i try to be patient....
more snow to shovel tomorrow.....ugh....
what a weird winter the east coast has had
yes,i am tired of it....
leaving thursday to go to Spain....i hope a lot of it is gone when i get back....
have a great trip.. where in spain?
ty...whirlwind tour.....Madrid, Seville, Cordoba, Valencia, Barcelona, Granada....
wow
I hope you have a safe trip. Leave your jewelry at home
too many places in too short a time....but it should be fun anyway....
the euro is crashing.. a great time to go.. good for you.. it will be reasonable
ty....yes, i am going to travel as light as i can...
hope so....it's a place i have never been, so i accepted an invitation to go on a tour with a few people i know...
cool.. so exciting to go new places. you learn a lot
agreed....i traveled a lot in Europe and a little in Asia...but haven't done so in a while....
I'm taking a trip in May.. and then in Feb.. so I have to line up my ducks
cool....where are you going?
British Columbia .. and the Loire Valley in Feb
Feb is partially business
nice....i remember a little restaurant in the Loire valley....Les Trois Marchands (three merchants).....they had the best lemon tart....
never been to BC....closest I came was Seattle...
J'adore tart citron
gosh.. BC is one of the most gorgeous places on earth
yes, but it's very far from here!
sure.. closer to me.. a three hour flight at the most.. and a short sea plane flight.
i went to Europe several times when my brother was stationed in Germany.....stayed 6 weeks each summer for three years...and traveled from there....dollar was doing very well then, so it was very affordable....
my last trip to france was brutal.. the dollar wasn't worth much then.. chicken at Lunch was $80
my god!...i stayed in a b&b in France for about $7 a night....and got a glass of calvados from the owner as well...
pomme frites $12-$14 :D
well hopefully, the dollar will be doing better when you go again....
yes please
well i am heading out.....gotta rest up to shovel, lol....nice talking to you, ru....
night penq
take it easy then
g'nite....
