i am celebrating turning 21 for the third ti4 today.
rose, I had an injection of triamcinolone acetonide this afternoon, for pain relief - I came home and slept for a couple of hours, had a cup of tea and slept again!! would that be normal for such med.?
well, you have every right to celebrate, Rose, enjoy and cheers!
if the pain has subsided due to the injection, then yes. it is perfectly normal. when we loose that pain our body allows us to nap/doze in order to catch up on lost sleep.
ah, well, I sure did!
i am so looking forward to bedtime tonight. i have been pain-free since the infusions yesterday. i am a little stiff, but no pain and no aches.

nah, your reaction to the bolus sound scary, to be honest. Very important to have a nurse with you to tell you it is all normal and just relax and let it happen.
they gave me a 5ml bolus of the ketamine infusion flosey. i was off the planet....lol
i felt like i had been anaesthetised, and not fallen asleep. i had ringing in my ears, my speech was slurred and i couldn't remember the right words to say.
had never heard the term 'bolus' rose, just looked it up
but my nurse stayed right th5 beside me until the effects wore off, and reassured me all the way through the process.

I had been told I'd be safe driving after the injection - otherwise would have had to wait, hubby was off island
that was a 20mg dose of ketamine, in one dose. doc wanted to build up the effect.
lol, here in the netherlands, the word 'bolus' is also used to refer to poop... because of the shape that is similar to a 'zeeuwse bolus' which is a melasses pastry snack.

I hate these new washing machines.if i put just a little too much washing in for the machine..it does not spin fully.So when the washing machine has finished..the clothes are still wet.I then have to put the clothes back in bit by bit and put it on spin to dry then better..Stupid thing.

I make an an awsome penne a la vodka I wish I could make for you on your b-day, Rose. I put a bit of creamery butter in my cast iron pan, then add diced green onions, 3 finely diced cloves of fresh garlic, and 8 strips of crumbled hickory smoked, maple kissed bacon. i fry that for a few moments just until the garlic bits start going brown, then i add a generous dollop to top shelf vodka. i then flambe the entire works for 30 seconds, and put out the flames with a 1/2 pint of 35 cream. i let all that simmer for a bit them mix it with my aldente penne pasta. i serve this dish with a simple spinach salady and crusty italian bread

I remember when you were worried about teaching younger kids, stid. You sound very happy with this age of kids now
I LOVE this age (knew I would, but was worried about the physicality of it). Some days I resort to my cane, haven't needed crutches at school this year (yet). I have a relatively easy-to-teach class, 23 all-day students, 1 part-day and 2 who are out of the room most of the day. It is tricky to teach that many students and reach them all, but I am improving. This week their behavior is below-par, but I think it is a response to the stress of this testing, the very bizzare (stormy) weather and the upcoming spring break.
We'll be fine as soon as the kids return from break in April. We have three half-days to end next week and then a lovely week-long breather.
