yvw - did the bunny remember you?
Afraid not..But I do not mind :-)
How about you?
no also - but I can truly do without any!
g'day lyn and zooz
have been practicing making hot X buns - quite enough Easter fattening stuff I think
Hello, Rose :-)
hi Rose
the one time i made hot cross buns, we used them for door stops....
I am not too keen oon them , Lynxxx. I can eat them but find one is more than enough for me..lol
LOL Rose that bad?
lots unloaded on neighbours and friends
Aww that is very kind of you, Lynxxx!
yes zooz that bad. they were as hard as and as heavy as rocks.
I am not managing the kneading very well so need the practice.
If you want another go Rose..look at the Paul Hollywood website - his HX Bunds are quite delicious
when i have a kitchen again i'll ask you again for that tip. xoxox
you must of knocked all the air out of them, Rose.they will be like rock if you do :-(
probably zooz. i was a lot younger, and was probably in a hurry, not realising one must take time and slow down.
Paul Hollywood is an amazing baker, Lynxxx. Love his cooking on the British bake off.
good morning all
Big fan too - Just ordered his Bread book from Book Depository
Hello, Sprite :-)
hi Sprite
{{hugs}} dearest sprite
*hugs zooz* Hello dear man! Hello lyn :D xxx
hello my dear friend rose *hugs*
Horrible drizzle rain and dank skies here today :-(
BBL dinner on table
Enjoy your meal, Lynxxx :-)
oh zooz we had the most goreous day here. blue skies, sunshine and a light breeze. it was heavenly.
enjoy lyn
Sounds wonderful, Rose! Can't wait fr those days to return here :-)
enjoy your dinner, lyn :)
gee, i missed a g...sorry
And I missed an O lol
things look a little better here, zooz. Storm and rain gone, still overcast but not as heavily.
Good. Hopefully that will ake you feel better than before :-)
lolol @ goreous. One of those days when the entrails rain from the sky huh
back in your box, sprite....lolol...who rattled your chain?
Fight..fight...fight..fight!
oh absolutely, I feel much better. My bloodsugar levels were crazy too, and I managed to normalise them. Much better.
hahahaha love you right back, rose :D
pfft, weather indeed...
yeah lol, I stand corrected. It was kinda unclear because I often react to weather pretty bad too. Will remember to check BSL when and if I feel as bad next time.
just wait til i get over there. i'm gonna smack your ears together. giving me a fright like that.xoxox
Wow , Rose is in a fighting mood today!
aw sweetie. Don't worry about me. I am strong as a horse, you know.
yeah, well zooz, you just didn't get the pants scared off you.
hahaha rose is getting back her energy and zest in life... bouncing back from years of pain and FM.
ummm the pants off part was Don, darling, not me.
*hands on hips * AND i will worry if i want to do so.
True, Rose. I wear boxer short not pants :D
sweet tush, zooz :)
hmmm, zooz...lots of room in the......legs!!
helloe
Hello, Herin :-)
*giggles* I know, I know, rose. Still... no need to :P
lady! Hello darling, how are you today?
hey ya herin. xoxox. how goes the study?
mmmph
hello Zoom
ha!! caught herin with a mouthful??
no that was a mmmph stupid stupid is stupid
lol I think that was a scottish hmmmph!
Teehee!
is the study stupid or does it make you feel stupid?
awww herin, don't curse yourself, dear. that's my job.
No it is an assignment I just don't get. Kind of doing the five thing and having a tantrum
and we all know how rose loves her job...
aw that is frustrating. Is there someone you can ask?
On the plus side my friend lent me a bunch of movies. Now I am watching The Mummy, drinking a cup of instant coffee and eating TV snacks.
LOL yeah I hear you, Sprite about, Rose..lol
I have 2 friends that has helped me. I have to redo the essay because it was a big wall of text and as one of the critics said 'stop talking shit'
oh nice, lady! You sure know how to comfort yourself. A good movie, coffee, tv snacks and babble. And us. Can't get much better.
Nothing like being honest then.
oooo harsh. But honest criticism, I hope.
*grins* we know our rose, don't we, zooz... :D
what squirrel I mean, Rose..Yes we do, Sprite :-)
I asked for honest. It wasn't a personal reflection on me or my work. TV Sacks are made by Arnotts and are little chocolate biscuits. One can be a right little piggy with them
hahahahaha zooz! :D
Stop being greedy, Herin, And pass them around!
good going, lady :)
hmmmph, zooz
mine, mine, mine
*holds two hands cupped together out*
Hello, Roe :D
Hands them around. i wish overseas people had them
Rose*
the overseas people wish the same thing. Thanks for sharing, lady :)
This hmmmmph seems to be catching.
sure does
There is a new one called Wafer Snacks.
must look for those
they are in a red box. The malts are yellow and the snacks are blue
Can get them here, Herin, if you order online.
yum!!!
will cost a bundle, no doubt, zooz?
dinner not too long away. salmon going into grill now.
I have some pretty awesome friends helping me
yummy, rose. Not big on fish, but salmon... yeah.
friends are one of the best things in life
herin, just go for it, honey.
They range from £2.50 -£5.79 Sprite.
Yikes Zoom.
woot pricey cookies!
We don't even buy the biscuits unless on special
I love pan fried salmon darns..yum yum.
well pricey tastes...
they have pizza, barbeque, cheese & bacon.
Everything here is expensive..lol
we have to be careful too. Always on the lookout for the discounts. Good thing the various supermarket chains always have a price war going on.
Same here, Sprite. I never pay full price for things.i love looking around and getting the best price I can.
As it is the long weekend we have a little bit of a splash on the old junk food
nice herin. why not, dear??
Well with all the studying going on, Herin, It is nice to treat yourself :-)
well himself is home so we kind of just slack off.
pigging out occasionally is awesome. I think it is required for staying sane.
We shop an awful lot at Aldi. Lots of deals
love aldi!! dinner ready. xoxox bbl
Enjoy your feast, Rose :-)
Loves Rose
We had bacon and chicken spinach sausages and scrambled eggs.
Oh man that has made my mouth water. That sounds so delish!
enjoy, rose!
sounds good, lady
it is my turn to cook today... pfff what to make...
Could do a bolognese?
hm, good idea. Simple and tasty. Thanks zooz.
Don,t forget the garlic bread :-)
hehehe indeed! Hm let's see if I can make that myself.
'*
The only thing we don't do on Good Friday is red meat. Not the no meat all together. Salmon is a little of our expense list
It is very rare I eat red meat. I tend to go for white meat these days.
same here
Himself shouldn't eat too much red meat so we don't
ah, lots of recipes for garlic bread
I can make it from scratch or start with a baguette.
Yeah there are many ways i suppose to do garlic bread. I think the best way is just to melt butter add very fine chopped garlic into butter.leave for a few hours to infuse..then use small butter brush to spread onto sliced bread rolls baguette and then grill til slightly golden.
I find that I use a mix of soft butter and a teaspoon of garlic mushed together with a fork. Slab on bread, wrap in foil and cook in oven for about 10 mn
Another great way to do it, Herin :-)
I know that one teaspoon of crushed garlic is a clove
Does make your breath a bit smelly but the flavour is wonderful and it goes so well with the bolognese!
I think I will take this one: to make cuts into a baguette, not all the way through. Finechop garlic and some parsley, a bit of citrus peel and salt and pepper, mix, put in the cuts. A bit of butter on top in each cut. Wrap in foil, in the oven for 10 mins, remove foil, oven for another 5-10 mins until golden.
That is why eating garlic is a household affair then everyone is stinky
That sounds good sprite.
I don't mind the smell of garlic.
Although for me if I am having a bolognese i must have parmesan cheese freshly grated on top.
me tooo me toooo!
That sounds perfect, Sprite.Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful meal tonight!
well not freshly grated, tbh, that is way too expensive. But a sack of pregrated parmesan, yeah.
No for me it has to be freshy grated.the packet stuff you buy here in the UK smells like sick..Sorry to be so graphic but it really does.
I eat too much Parmesan to get the wedges.
ah awful. No, what we have here is nice enough.
Zoom do you mean the dehydrated stuff?
Yeah the dehydrated crap, Herin..lol
that is what we use here, the powder form
Eww no sprite :-(
We buy the fresh stuff grated. From aldi really cheap
so sorry, zooz, yes. The other kind is wayyyy expensive, you can only get it at special cheese stores where you buy a wedge and ask them to grate it for you.
The one here in the packet is so fine like powder and really stinks so bad..nothing like the fresh at all.
The one you get, Sprite, Might be different from the one here.
yeah, ours definitely does not stink like sick, lol. It smells gooood.
Sprite what about the cheese section at the supermarket
only the powder form, lady
So none of the finely grated stuff in a packet?? I don't know if I could live without it
we have that, but not in parmesan, lady. Just in the dutch cheeses and swiss cheese.
Sprite also how old are the kids now?
and back. too much, couldn't finish...but oh so delish...
All this talk about foo has made my stomach grumble a lot..lol
ah, wb dear rose, and glad you enjoyed your festive dinner.
Food*
*watches 3,000 dead Italians turn over in their graves*
Hello, Ruru :-)
hey ya ruru...
snort Ru.
causing a landslide. Hi ru :D
Powdered parmesan just sounds sooooo wrong
I guess. It tastes lovely though.
i keep forgetting how filling salmon is. still we both made a huge dent in it.
No fish in this house
good job, rose.
It is no good..I need to grab a bite to eat.
babble chat... just wait a few minutes and it will turn to food...
*extends thumb to zooz * here, mate. bite on this....lol
risky proposition, rose
Ok I suppose I better go and do this assignment. XOXOX
ok lady, good luck! *hug*
{{hugs}} herin. be strong dear.
later kids
I dont care for salmon ..i prefer white fish
I sound like a chinook...er i mean schnook
Night herin
more like a chook...lol
Back to bed..
have a good sleep ruru.
night night ru ru
ever so glad diarrhea is a phantom
Okay grabbed myself a couple of fruit teacakes and a cup of tea :-)
Bye, Herin..sweet sleeps :-)
good job, zooz. I am having my standard breakfast, spread over the morning. A cup of wiener coffee and two apples.
Bye, Ruru :-)
gee thanx zooz, love fruit teacake. * scoff, scoff * yum!!
Hey!!!! get off They are MINE!
*hands zooz a piece of apple and grabs some cakes* See, I share!
*giggle*
Two apples! You will be glad of your bolognese tonight then!
Wiener coffee?
Trust Ruru to notice that...lol
lolllll I knew that would bring ru back out of hiding. Yep. Wiener melange coffee. No grounded dicks or anything. Just coffee in vienna style.
Hey I thought you were going to sleep!
whoot. wtg sprite. * grabs my share of cake*
Oh good grief, Sprite...LOL
subtle, that's me
I guess wiener coffee will prick up one's ears
Would not want you any other way, Spritey :-)
yeah, subtle as a lead balloon.
I bet it gives you the willies, ruru
*grin* Thanks zooz :)
*Groans*
mythbusters proofed that a lead balloon will fly, rose
you two are terrible..lol
Does wiener coffee come with erections...errr i mean directions
you need strong biceps to chuck a lead balloon.
but I prefer my wiener over a C-cup of tea
*giggles* no need for directions, ru, pretty much self-explanatory in going all the way up. Um down.
oh, gosh, sprite * collapsing in a heap of giggles*
I could easily come back with some puns..but alas they are too rude for babble chat..lol
Wiener coffee would be popular in sf
hehehe therein lies the art, zooz... to keep from being too rude and still walk the edge.
how is that, ru?
not mastered that yet, Sprite..still learning from Ruru..lol
Um...a lot of gay men in sf sprite
lol we all do, zooz. Ru is the king of puns.
ah, that is the old style sf. Sf and fantasy nowadays are much more liberated and cater to all sexual inclinations. Or almost all.
Thought we were talking about coffee..lol
ok, just a little crossy-like tidbit: a cup of coffee in dutch is colloquially knows as 'een bakkie troost' which translates as 'a nice cup of comfort'.
I like that, Sprite :-0
:-)*
yeah :)
I am struggling with the As in the grid today for some reason.
known* even
hello dear friends
vowel words. Always a lady dog.
Triffles! *huggles* Nice to see you! How have you been?
I read it as known..lol did not even see the mistake!
ah that is good, zooz! I have this inherited curse... I spot every typo in a text. Generations of teachers before me. Makes me a great editor though.
WTG SPRITE!!! hope you have a great day. g'day trif. eyelids slamming shut here.
not finished yet, lol. Night night dear rose, sleep well my friend. *hugs*
* yawwwnnnn* nighty-night. xoxox to you all.
Bye, Rose, Sweet sleep.
Hello, Trif :-)
does anyone have a clue for the di8/8 they would care to share? Please?
di8/9
Arguments, Sprite
And good morning everybody:-)
hey Soodle! That has been ages. Great to see you, how have you been? And thanks for the clue!
Agree
Agree Agrees
found them, lol
aaarrrggg. So sorry
Hello, Soodle :-)
not your fault. Blame the site.
hahah I thinnk when, soodle , gave the clue she realised she did not put in the AG word :-)
hehehe indeed.
I have done that before..found the word 'reminded' then did nnot put in the words mind, minded until much later in the grid.
oh, same here. The things I do here in babble would make me feel so ashamed if you could see them, lol. Forgetting plurals, or even worse, singulars... verb forms... roots of words... typos galore... unwords...
We become babble blind :-)
oh yes, we do
please ask me for a clue for the sa7. I have a lovely clue.
fireflies
Sorry again. I'm being distracted here. The troops are all home. My usual silence is shattered!
Okay..May I have a clue for the SA7 please anyone?
aw poor Soodle!
Bless you, ((Soodle))
zooz: meaty wise guy :)
Great clue Sprite. :-)
Oh hahahah so sorry just got it..where is ruru when you need him :-)
thanks :D Had to get it off my chest. Any other words I may clue before I go?
Oh Congrats, Spritey!
Sorry i missed that post.
ru is in bed, trying to get some sleep, I guess...
No I am good..but thanks.
Probably dreaming of a weiner coffee LOl
No thanks Sprite. I better sign off Babble - offspring DEMANDING my attention. Laters!
ok, off with me then. *hugs* to you, my friends. Have a grand day.
Have a great day, Soodle!
Have a great day, Sprite, and enjoy your bolognese!
Good morning, everyone:)
good morning! I was here a bit earlier, and then my site crashed
Hello, Crossy :-)
Hello again, Trif :-)
hello
hope you are well, Trif?
Good morning all
whoooo babble is keeping it classy in the lower left corner!
I am very well zooz, thank you. and you?
Yes the TU words..lol
Howdy, sukee
Hello, sukee :-)
Hi rsy
morning sukee
lol... Hi Crossy...
Hi zoo
I too am well thanks :-)
and rif
Trif
that is so good to read
Sigh, I'm typing challenged today
Welcome to my world of typing, Sukee..lol
I have the day off, and should be cranking away at my to do list...but babbling calls
"join the club, sukee, we have jackets--with badly spelled things written on them
joyn hte club, wee haf jakkits!
Foggy here, can't even see across the street.
Hah chores can wait..Babble is far more important!
lol
Better than tattoos
I do not bother with tattoos; the police can identify me easy enough without them:)
LOL
oh, hey! I just thought - my tertiare just got back from a four day trip to Quebec with the French club at school, and she LOVED it - well done canada!
:)
Old Quebec City is well worth the visit
Yes, and Montreal of course.
you've made a life-long fan of my girl. she can't wait to go back, and I think the chance to "road test" her burgeoning french gave her a lot of confidence
The only french i can do is what gogle translates for me.How sad is that!
of course the real excitement of the trip came when several of the students decided to sneak out of the hotel (NOT mine...) and got caught by the teachers and chaperones - who were at a local bar getting HAMMERED
Google*
The only French I know is what I see on packaging :)
A stand off commenced - tell on us, we tell on you
LOL oh dear, Trif, Well you know about it..so i take it there threat did not work..lol
well, my kid told me, but no one told the school :)
I do not worry overmuch about how much french I can remember from my schooling. I can say "Smirnoff" in 32 languages, and with that I am content:)
LOL, Crossy, Good one!
lol crossy! you might want to learn to say "where is the bathroom" in the same 32
:)
Good morning, kids. Funny stroies, Trif and Crossy.
French was forced upon us back when I was in high school. Sadly, the effect of that is to make most of us run away from it as fast as possible after our two terms of it was finished:(
'Dosh' word not accepted.i know it is slang but hey It is often used..lol
Hello, Scrabs :-)
good morning scrabbler!
Howdy, Scrabby.
Hi Scrabs
Many of the Irish people I know feel the same about Gaelic, Crossy
Today is day 4 of working 10 days in a row so that my partners can spend time with families for Easter.
very nice of you scrabbler. and then YOU get a break,I hope?
Hope you will get some time off for yourself afterwards, Scrabs.
snap, zooz!
Snap, Trif!
I get my 4 mini-vacations in June, July, August, and Sept--hiking/kayaking trips, so it works out.
Oh hahaha this is crazy!
Oh heavens no. Daughter of Trif would never sneak out of a hotel, she is as well behaved and mild mannered as her sainted mother. : D
The only reason us fellas even showed up for those class was because without fail every single french teacher was achingly beautiful, and we would put up with any form of torture to stare at her for 45 minutes each day;)
Nice one, Scrabs!
actually, molly, she DID sneak out - got as far as the sidewalk in front of the hotel, thought "this is stupid" and turned around and went back in.
It is easier to learn to conjugate verbs under those conditions, right, Crossy?
Good for Tertiare!
oh gad, crossy, how you would be disappointed in our town then!
LOL, crossy, you are too funny!
lol, we hardly remembered our own names:)
Who says the guilty conscience thing doesn't work? : D
last ar 5 plz
dilemma - babbling in bed with laptop. renal failure is setting in, but if I get up, the dog will go mental, and then my day MUST begin....sigh
Pee in the bed, Trif.
lololol
our cats woke up up at 05:45 demanding breakfast;(
my kingdom for a depends!
Sorry, ivesy, I still need a lot of As to help.
ar + what you wear on your head, Ivesy
*Passes Trif the bedpan*
nope. gotta go. dog is awake anyway....ttyl friends
Just think of things to take your mind off of it, Trif-- a water fall, a babbling brook, a gentle rainfall---things like that;)))
Toodle pips, Trif :-)
lol crossy - one last bit before I go...at my last physical check up I had to do that thing where they book you first appointment, and you have to do your morning pee there. the waiting area in urology has a little tinkling fountain in it. what sick bastard thought of THAT?
Once I am awake, my first stop is the coffeemaker. Not the laptop, not the bathroom...go directly to the coffeemaker. Do not pass GO do not collect 200 dollars.
LOL
Any clues for any of the middle Es on the top row?
Sick bastard is the right name for whoever did that Trif.
Molly, I have no choice but to go to the bathroom first. Then coffee, then cat food.
ty molly ..always miss that one
EA 6/18 not hard
ER4
Ty, popped right out at me :)
Welcome.
ea5 what the beaver is
Got them all
Ty Mollie, that one was for the E in the 2nd column.
Ah, I thought you were looking for both
Ty anyway :)
I misunderstood "middle Es in the top row"
both beavers. do not forget the brit beaver as well:)
yep, got both
even though it means a tidal bore:)
gm, everyone!
Howdy, LBD
Hello, dawg :-)
Hi lbd.
Hi dawg
hi crossy, zooz, sukee and scrabs! how's everyone doing?
had our first does of real spring temps yesterday. it soared al the way to 12C and we were all standing there looking like we had been lightly dosed with ether and hit over the head with a bat--just staring up at the sun;)
dose
I killed my first fly of the year yesterday.
Doing Okay here thank, Dawg. How goes it with you?
had a humongous fly in the house yesterday. he was smart enough to fly back out the door.
I had just opened my kitchen window, no idea how it got inside.
have a couple days off then have to work easter sunday. would be nice if the weather would decide to rain or shine.
Shine would be nice!
yes, I'm hoping for shine too.
I would just like to see the sky.
it was amazing here yesterday, Sukee. the sky was a vault of unsullied blue overhear with just the odd wisp of clouds to break it up and the sun, the sun! was beating down with actual warmth!
overhead
The temp got to 64 here yesterday and rain in the after and overnight has melted much of our snow. I can see some grass in my yard now.
I'll be back later, gl.
I can hear the ski bunnies crying all over Blue Mountain today:)
we've had warm temps, snow has melted away, but it's been overcast most of the time. trees are budding.
see ya, sukee
there is some base left on a few run, but very limited and only day runs and taking the runs under some tree cover
But we will get new snow this weekend!
'Riding the edges" is the name of the game on the runs for this long weekend
we have minus 5C and snow scheduled for tonight, but it will not help too much at this stage of the game
We have fog warning for today. All this warm air is creating dense fog banks off all the snow that is still in the fields and on the hills
Yesterday morning as I left for work I saw my neightbor's pickup truck crashed into a tree in another neighbor's front yard. The air bag was deployed. Driver was already gone. I suspect the driver slid around the curve, went into the yard and crashed, then walked home. But when and why?
it snowed here yesterday...just those few weak flakes that almost melt as you see them fall.
I called the police. I wonder if alcohol was involved thus he walked home and left the wreck.
Oh dear, hope he wasn't hurt too badly. airbags can cause some severe owies!
I called another neighbor last night but no one knows details. The truck was gone when I came home last evening. The yard is full of debris and a tree was damaged.

well, it's likely the police will find the culprit and damages can be fixed. Just hope the person wasn't hurt too badly.
The word ends in a herb, Scrabs
Ah.
The owner of the truck lives a few houses up the street and the police will investigate.
Alas, I must get ready for work. I hope it is a quiet day in the office. And I am wishing for a quiet weekend on call because of the Easter holiday.
I will cross my fingers for you, Scrabs.Have a great day :-)
hope it is a quiet day and weekend for you scrabs. hagd.
And fireworks for me! Had to list to get the last 12 words.

bags of chips are pretty funny at high altitude. We always try to buy some that were packaged at sea level when we know we are driving over Beartooth Pass.

yup. family traditions!
I can't think about that without thinking of my father, the meteorologist, explaining about air pressure.

hi welki!
es, been busy with work, but we have had a bit of unexpected quiet this week, so ive been popping in here + there. :)
welki a bottle of water you mean?
nice to see you.
yes - a plastic water bottle, fan - it'll contract when the plane is starting to descend and the pressure changes in the cabin
that would not be good
nbt
speaking of air pressure in planes, i wish the planes would gradually reduce the air pressure when they are flying into a high altitude city, like colorado springs, or la paz. Give you a little less shock when you're on the ground....
ON a 12 hour flight to Nepal they could take you through one cycle of "climb high, sleep low"
NBT here. need the 8 and the 9 for NBS. Inching my way towards halfway. :)

got the 8 and 9 now as well -- thanks!
I know welki. We go to a music festival in Butte, the mile-high city. Every year there are a few groups that have to postpone their performance because someone from sea level can't tolerate it.
some people cant handle the air in places like Colorado
I don't have trouble until about 10,000 feet because I regularly ski and hike around 8000. But after a week in Peru, I was ready to get back to lower elevations!
what are the effects?
ooh halfway I just noticed!
congrats harp
I thinkit effects your equilibrium
and your inner ear
light headedness, lack of stamina. Generally everything slows down, even digestion. After a few days you aren't hungry any more.
the oxygen level is lower at high altitudes
can someone clue the DO 7 please?

definitely an issue for those with heart issues. several years ago, my family attended a wedding in Vale, and my dad underestimated how the altitude would affect him, having had a few heart attacks. one step off the bus and DOWN he went!

oh well crossy -- understandable in your case - it isn't bacon!
mmm, bacon...
hubby just made a bacon and egger for me for breakfast -- yum
Sadly, like I have said before, Canadian pisg must trot around the barnyard on golden hooves, because I can hardly afford to buy bacon anymore at the price they are now charging for the stuff!
pigs
yumm
I think most of our pork products come from Ohio, which really annoys me
Now it is a rare treat--on par with buying a very special bottle of wine:)
I just balk at paying 6 dollars for 3/4 of a pound of the stuff:(
See? we pay their travel expenses!
bet they go first class..
and if our dollar keep getting weaker it will be even worse.
Wow, I can get a pound of bacon for 3.99
what is the rate now, Nan. i have not been following it.
darn U. S porker;( lol
around 79 cents I think
US dollar was 1.26 yesterday

I see that the peameal bacon price is constant though. that is one small blessing
our son is in 7th heaven -- he produces TV commercials ... the US companies love shooting in Canada when the dollar is this low.
Yes, I imagine they do.
Oh well, it was not that long ago we had a dime over the greenback:)
it will cycle around again--eventually
yes - wish we had bought more USD than we did at that time
We have a new bed being delivered this am, so had better go and get the old one stripped. Hagd everyone.
When we got our new bed from our local independent furniture place, they disposed of the old one for us free of charge. was a nice touch. We buy there anyways because it is all made on site with local labor and local materials. The Asian sweat shops get enough support without us.:)

A perfect Peri! There was hardly a ripple as she went into the pool, folks!
be forewarned: the perils of having a buffet in your cafeteria is that you often end up with very tasty, yet extremely odd combinations of food for your meal.
what did you get Eva?
orange chicken with veggie lo mein, cinnamon butter plantains, grapes, and a grape soda.
interesting
is everthing good?
sarees
quite good, yes! it may not all go together, but it all tastes fab!
that is all that matters then
everything but the grape soda sounds very interesting
i wish i could break my soda habit.
I broke mine over a year ago. I drink water with a lemon or lime slice, at home and in restaurants
My brother used to drink 2!!! two litre bottle of Coca-Cola/day. he ballooned up to 365 pounds before he gave the stuff up.
How did you lose all that weight without giving up soda?
help with sa5/12 pls
Plural the SA 4/5 before it.
ty zooz, did not think to plural that one
diet soda. :)
I love my water/flavoured water. I actually do not care for pop, although I will have a ginger ale if my tummy is upset
and alas, ive gained pretty much all the weight back. :(
diet soda appears to be worse than regular soda.
i need to get back in the saddle!
Hiyas, kiddos! You have to admire some folks' optimism. 60 degrees and pouring rain here... and the ice cream truck is rounding the neighborhood.
Diet pops is just a chemical nightmare:(
ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!! *Runs to catch truck*
oh, yes. diet soda is rotten for you. soda in general is rotten for you!
but, for Weight Watchers, diet soda is 0 points, wheres regular sodas are a good handful of points.
help with the sa7/32 pls
I like putting orange slice in my watter bottle as well as lemon or slices of lime

Cucumber & mint in water is delish!

Even so, a gallon and a half of water a day is a LOT
Works for me:)
Hypernaturemia, the intake of too much water that doesn't include electrolytes
I have but a single coffee or tea in a given day, so all my hydration is h2o.
hio all. need clue for e top row second column..ty
If you added up your coffee or tea intake along with your water intake, you fluid intake levels would change
nm got one of them.
Hypernaturemia is just as bad for your kidneys as too little water
what are the signs of hypernaturemia?
besides excessive peeing
If you are exercising a lot or working in a dry environment, that much water would be okay.
I will chance it. Noting like ripping apart your urinary tract with saber-toothed stones.
My doc let them pass on their own last time. was not fun.
was three of them:(

Ouch.
and since I have maintained this water hydration level for the last 8 years, I think I am ok.
Crossy, are you behaving yourself?
Always, my beloved;)
hi Elegant
Hi Peri :)
Elegant, what's life with Crossy really like?
it is fun playing babble as a couple. We try to get half-way on our own, then we swap word lists:)
uh oh...
he's a good man. He is very attentive to me. He's a gentleman and very sweet. I don't know what I'd do without him.
:)))
Awww!!!
Yeah, that's pretty much what HE tells us ( like every day ).
I'm very proud of him, he went back to school and achieved about a 90% average.
Help for sa7,40 please?
I speak only the gospel truth... crossy waits for the lightning bolt from above...
SA 7 - not bacon but SA 7 for breaqkfast with eggs
Slaps Crossy, behave Dear. Don't make me slap you again.
Either than or he has swapped out Elegant's water for bacon infused vodka.
lol
mmm, bacon vodka
Elegant, does he need spanking on a regular basis?
mmm...think I will go hide in the grid for a bit...
I've trained him well but sometimes he slips and I have to correct him.
Drags Crossy back, you want to be the center of attention stay here and take it like a man.
good
Hahaha Hey crossy are you blushing behind the computer screen :-)
lol!
Oh, it's too bad amusing isn't in the grid.

First time crossy you have been lost for words Teehee!

Aww thanks Sweetheart.
Hello Elegant
Hi son.
Aw, it's a family affair!

An in depth look into the Crossy household
Just a day in the life:)
before the da5 I have 3 da4's s m s are the letters they end with ...what am I missing.. I know its before the 5 as the last da word I have ends in a t and its a 4?
The da you describe is after the DA 5 & 6
then I have after it ends in a t
There are 3x DA 4/6 then DA 5/16, DA 6/27 then DA 4/6
mlfan: think morse code, a footrace, and blocking a river
ty zooz I must be missing some do words then:)

((mimi))
nm tur1 I greyed the 4th column d:)
Hi Mimi. how are you?
Yes, I have my beloved with me today:) My son is here as well:)
it is a full house :-)
OK, mlfan!
Rudely lost internet there for a mo.
Wow--a real family affair! Hi, Elegant, dear. You certainly have a husband who adores you! I'm, unfortunately, not doing too well. My legs haven't been working properly and it takes all my strength and determination to get up from a sitting position. They're thinking I might have MS.
judi want to trade computers?
No news then, mimi?
When do you go for tests, Mimi?
Hi, everyone else!
Couldn't get an appt. until May 12!!!
Hello, Elegant :-)
Sounds as bad as this country.
Aww, I'm so sorry to hear that Mimi, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
It took that long because it's my first appt. with my new PCP on my new Obamacare insurance policy.
Hello Diane
Thank you, Elegant.
Well, geesh, Mimi. That's discouraging and infuriating, to say the least.
Hiya, ML. Nah. Min
Mine is new since Christmas. I'll hang on to it.
In the meantime, I can only stand for short periods of time before feeling my legs start to weaken. Luckily, I can walk mostly OK. Living alone, it can be scary. I carry my phone with me everywhere I go in the apt. just in case.
my husband claims he read online how ot make it not show us pop ups and update stuff which is fine but its not something you can ignore forever
Prayers of strength and courage coming your way, Mimi. Do you have a cane or walker to lean on, just for safety sake?
My friend Jane who has MS uses a walker. She is very tottery and says she feels safer with a walker.
No, I haven't really needed that since walking is much less a problem that getting up from sitting. I can tell you that I have to put so much energy into my thighs to get up they'll look like body builder thighs before too long!!
Thanks, Judi.
That should make walking easier, mimi. lol
I'm one tough old broad and I just keep moving through it as I think that lying down and giving in just makes it worse and isn't my style.
Well, even if you don't have MS, you sure have moxie!
If you take to your bed, mimi, it will make your muscles weaken and then it will make it harder to walk.
Elegant...I hope you take pride in the fact that many women here at Babble have crushes on your husband!
That
I am infamous the world over:)
Oh no! Mimi has outed us! Please don't pull that plug, Elegant!
lol! I'm very lucky to have him. He's a good man and a wonderful husband.
Hi All
Ruby is my exotic french GF on the side:)
That's exactly what I think, jaxx. Plus, living along I have no choice but to keep going. After all, I have 4 cats to take care of.
Hego.
Hi Elegant!
howdy, hego:)
Hello, Hego darling!
and Crossy
Then can I be your semi-exotic Irish-descent GF?!!
Hi Hego :)
Hiya Judi.
Hi there, hego!
A treat to see elegant here. :)
mm.. Irish??.. well, Yow is your temper, mimi?
hi Mimi
How
Hey, Crossy. Who is a popular man then?
Actually, I think from this hemisphere, Ruby is on "the other side".
It can be fierce, crossy, but I mostly keep things under control.
Well, ok then:))
Synonymous with "across the pond".
Also originally had auburn red hair!!
It is the Irish fierceness that keeps you going mimi
gr 6 & &, plz?
And a red-head to boot!
i mean, gr 6 & 7, plz?
Green eyes as well, mimi?
Did anyone ever clue the two Sa7s??
Yes, jaxx. That plus I come from a long line of very unusual and strong women.
gr 6 & 7 like a cracker, or a man's name
Nope, jaxx....blue.
wow. tyvm, molly
ohh...sexy blue eyes...
My hair will be auburn again shortly!! Tired of this gray.
sa7s...breakfast meat and mans name + woman's name (Zoom's clue)
sa is like hot dogs or kielbasa
I am of Irish descent too. Soodle is unsure if she should speak to an Orangwoman. I don't have a temper but I am good at sulking.
Someone get that lass a shillelagh instead of a cane. (And yes, I did have to look up the spelling on that).
orange woman?? better stay away from those tanning creams!
Orange even, I am not an ape. lol
My daughter has green eyes with a gray circle around the outside of the iris...very unusual and beautiful. She gets that from my grandmother, I think, who had green eyes as did my biological father.
Lucille Ball had red hair and blue eyes. They called her "Technicolor Tessie".
It would clash with my pink hair crossy!
bbl..
lol
I have some freckles, too, but not as many as when I was young.
I believe the correct phrase for those with red hair is "ginger people".
I have green eyes and freckles, but my hair was dark.
People have told me it would be easier to color my hair blond since it would last longer and not show the roots so soon but then I wouldn't be able to tell my blond jokes (and I have LOTS of them). Plus...I just don't have a blond personality (no insult to blonds).
Or, as some in the south say, "punkinheads".
Ooooh, hego--how beautiful.
oh, ty Mimi.
Remnants of viking genes, mimi. Hence the fierceness
now my hair is sparly silver. lol
We have viking genes in the south of Italy also.
I almost wish my hair would turn gray, so I can quit bleaching it.
They got around, those guys.
Omg, a viking Sicilian would be a nightmare!!
Judi, you're too young.
Even better Hego. Under the pink mine is that yellowish grey, not attractive in one so young. If you believe that you will believe anything. lol
I always say life is about balance and the nicer you are on one side, the fiercer you can be on the other. That's me...don't go to the dark side with me 'cause I will take you down! But mostly I'm really very nice.
lol Jaxx
I have to agree, Hego. :-)). My natural color is dark brown, which really washes out my fair skinned face. Hence blondification.
No, Judi...when we turn gray we seem to almost disappear, especially to young people. They just look right past you as if you don't exist. They do that to me until I open my mouth!
okay, Judi, sure. ;)
Gotta go get some things done...ouch. Hugs all around and have a great weekend in case I don't see you.
bye Mimi.
Thanks, mimi and take care.
Bye Mimi, take care.
tc, mimi
nice pic of Amos, Elegant.
Thanks, He is my little Sweetie. All of them are.
Love kitties
He is adorable
We have three, Amos, Sirius Black and Abracadabra. Amos and Sirius are black cats, Abby is a large ginger tabby.
My grandson has just gone home in a foul temper. He would not go to sleep last night so he overslept this morning and missed a bike session with his friends. When he did get there mid-afternoon, they had gone home. Boy was he mad and it was our fault ! The house has become quiet so I am off to cook fish for tea as it is Good Friday.bbl
Madame Elegant! Wow, you brought me out of lurking mode. It is lovely to "see" you in here
Ruby!
|Hego!
lol
Hi, Ruby. I hear you and my husband have a fling going...
Oh that Ruby!
My husband has come downstairs 6 times since dinner and keeps apologizing and saying he won't do it again. His surgery will never heal if he continues.
She dazzles me, my dear. I am helpless before her feminine wiles.
Only if he like tiny old wrinkled women!
tell burt i say to stay put.:)
Poor Burt...and Ruby.
You tell him, I tell him, the housekeeper tells him and the visiting nurse doe, but it makes no impression.
Chain him to the bed
Each time he comes down, he apologizes, says he won't do it agai and then re-appears, five minutes later.
I guess this is the face of dementia
That's it Ruby.
Hey dad no bacon today for brunch today
Ops typo
hi Brady!
Ruby, I'm sorry you are going through all this alone. It's a hard road.
It is very sad but also annoying. I am not a nice person to feel this way and he makes me feel very guilty when I get angry at him
Thank you, M|olly. I have more help now, so it is a little bit easier physically, but I cant imagine what is going to happen down the road.
I'm glad his daughter is coming on the 20th
Hi hego! How are you
You are entitled to your feelings Ruby. Don't be guilty.
Good, Brady, thanks.
Hello, Bradly, are you bearded like your dad?
Stupid words today.
Nice to have the whole gang here.
Nursing a family member 24/7 takes its toll. I am glad to hear she is coming to lend a hand, Ruby.
Kinda it's still patchy
Do we have the whole Crossy clan on board today?
I thought I heard purring.....
Well, I'm off, great chatting with all of you, take care.
Brady, it will be patchy for a while.
Bye, Madame
Bye, Elegant. Thank you for meeting us all, and for sharing your beloved.
Bye Elegant. See you on FB
Au revoir Mme Ruby
A bientot
Bye mom
I shall take my leave for a bit as well. Take care everyone, and it has been a pleasure as always ruby Tuesday;)

poink!
: D : D : D
I miss Easter candy and coloring eggs. Nobody here does anything except take a holiday on Monday. They don't even go to mass!
In NY, when I grew up, schools were closed on Good Friday and people still fasted.
Want me to send you some peeps?
Pagans to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am.....
or a chocolate bunny?
stuckin the middle
When we had the candy store, my mother used to make (and sell) gorgeous Easter baskets with excelsior and spun sugar eggs as well as all the other candies.
Not a festive bunch where you are, Ruby. And there is nothing wrong with Pagans. They are the originators of colored eggs.
TY Hego. I used to love stale peeps....
They do great chocolate eggs in Italy.
I remember those baskets Ruby.
I know, I was just joking. But the church in this village closed for want of a priest AND parishioners.
churches are empty all over Ruby.
The only thing festive around here is my garden, more flowers every day!
Ah, France is not as Catholic as it used to be then.
Good night, everybody
G'nite Ruby.
I read a statistic that fewer than 10% of French people goto church more than once a year.
Italy is no better.
Churches are still pretty full around here. Especially at Easter time.
Here too.
In the UK, both today and Monday are bank holidays
Hi Matty!
Hello from LAX, heading back to Newark for one night today and then back to cold and cloudy London :(
were you in Ca long?
They are days off here too. Not for banking purposes, but because people celebrate religious things.
I'm a bit concerned about something. For the second time in as many weeks I did something I've NEVER done before -- left the kitchen with food cooking on the stove, then COMPLETELY forgot until I had burned the pan black (my smell seems to be on the fritz, so I didn't smell anything burning until I walked back into the kitchen.) I'm going to be 60 this year.... is this just normal?
not in scotshire, matty!
... normal ... no ... does it happen ... sure ...
I agree with Dose.
It's just never happened to me before.
... i believe that it's being able to sense odours (that aren't there) that's a sign of perhaps being something ... ... not smelling something is just a sign that like me you've always eaten your food too quickly and have a lessened sense of taste and smell
Not a good idea to leave cooking food unattended.
Is anything troubling going on in your life to distract you?
... never happened to you before? ... get used to it ... the joys of past sixty
Good idea, Molly. If you're cooking, don't leave the kitchen.
Good point, dose. Hego, no, in fact, I am living the dream -- working from home, no-stress job, volunteering in my community, blessed to be married to my beloved. That's why I ask if this kind of thing is part of aging. And Molly... you're right, of course.
... if you're worried ... ask someone else to watch your behaviour ...
Since the 24th March. I have a tan (and I'm peeling)
Losing your sense of smell can be symptomatic of several things. Best to discuss it with your doctor.
Matty, nice.
I am not doing very well on this grid (I've not opened the list though
Good idea, dose. And Molly, it is time for me to have a checkup, so I'll bring it up. And now (sigh) I need to go scrub out a black fry pan. Thanks -- bbl.
Since the advent of all the warnings about skin cancer, it's been forever since I have "peeled"
Brits peel if they walk across the street in Cal. :)
... how bad is it? ... another past 60 thing ... ... throw it away and buy another one ... cleaning is a drag
Bye Ch
lol Dose.
Heh, yeah. My OH was more careful and piled on the factor balaclava slap. Me, I soaked up the vitamin D and canned cancer
There are time consuming ways to clean a pan with burnt on stuff, but I am with Dose. I would toss it and buy a new one.
... besides that ... the shiny new one will remind you to remember things
focus, it's all about focus.
Or timers. With all the gadgets nowadays, it is well worth the effort to set a timer.
... and relax ... another past 60 thing ... things will hurt or rather ache ... ... it means you exercised to much ... not that you developing a fatal illness
Can anyone give me a clue on any of the long words?
... no i can't ... yes you can ... no i can't ... yes you can ... ... for the di8/9
Excellent point Dose. People get way too freaked out about the slightest of things.
Back from the kitchen and read your lovely notes. Thanks -- I threw baking soda into the pan, and according to a friend, the pan should just wipe clean tomorrow... I hope. If not, oh well, a new one is nice too! :) Good advice, all. I feel better. Older, but better!
Being way past 60, I think I can tell you it will only get worse, so settle in.
... the only 7 I've got is "sa" .. ... a typically fatty meat product usually from Germany and served with beer and saurkraut and oompah bands
Thank you!!
... oh well ... gotta go back to the books .. unless I can find another way to stall it off ... ... good afternoon and good luck to all
Bye dose
Bye, dose - thanks.
bbl
Off to check to see how delayed our flight is...see ya!
There is an am7 it's the plural of the am6
hah, gramma, that didn't give me either am6 or am 7, but it did make me notice sa7 :)

What people do when they argue, dpomfr
any help with di 8 * 9 please?
That was what I was trying to do, dpomfr
I see your clue Wht. It's there, truly it is. : D
Hi Molly, how are you today.
Not bad. Enjoying the long holiday weekend.
I have just cut back my hours at work, so now I will have every Friday off.
di 8&9...to differ
Fireworks
Hello all. I was on here earlier, and put 2 words into the chog, due to being distracted by the frenetic comings and goings of the Soodle gang. Peace has now been restored, albeit temporarily.
And a blessed Good Friday to you and the Soodle clan.
Ah, Hiya Molls :-). Right back at you.
Of the 365/366 days in the year, there are only 2 days when pubs do not open. Christmas Day, and Good Friday. You would think that Prohibition had been introduced round here. Both returned Soodle-kids have gone to house parties, where they will gleefully defy the law. Sigh.
Hey, I think Good Friday is a fine day to hoist a few.
LOL! Its a sign of your standing in the community if you get invited to a pub for an illegal drink on Good Friday. I was lucky enough to receive such an invitation. It would have been rude to decline. I went, but only drank a soda, becaues I had the car. But It felt good to be there. :-)
Tsk, tsk. One drink will not impair your ability to drive.
Alas, Molly, I subscribe to the 'A Bird Never Flew On One Wing' philosophy. Better to stick to soda when the car is involved.
9 days time till myself and Sarah hit Gran Canaria! Woo-Hoo. And a month later, I travel to France to visit our dear Rubes. How lucky am I?
yowser . . thunder and lightning and tornado sirens! yikes!
Sorry. Monopolosing the chat again. Apologies.
stay safe, Une.
Sounds exciting, Soodle
I am very excited, PH. I am really looking forward to spending some quality time with Rubyfoo.
Golly, Une, I'm sure the doggies don't like the thunder. Our dog, Daisy, goes into meltdown when there is thunder in the air.
((soodle))
Hey Jaxx ((()))
I saw earlier that Ashley was blaming you for ..... everything.... Bleugh
Have a wonderful time!
he has a nasty temper sometimes. We had given him some eggs from our batams to take home for dad, a vegetarian. He announced they were mouldy so he was going to throw them away. Little sweetheart.
bentams even
try again bantams
It sounds as if you are going to have a good time
You deserve it, soodle
I got it the first time Jaxx! LOL. Sorry he is being such a prat. And thanks, PH, I feel like a royal jet-setter. If its April, it's Gran Canaria. If it's May, it's France. And me without a pot to piddle in. Hilarious!
Lordy, soodle. Please take a receptacle with you. lol
Figure of speech, Jaxx..., figure of speech!! LOL
I know, but what a vision it gave me. Soodle ostracised for not having a potty.
Mind bleach, Jaxx. Erase that mental picture right now.
I'll try, I'll try.
LOL. Apart from the obvious, how is life for you these days?
A jet setter with no pot to piddle in. Isn't that an oxymoron? : P
My point entirely, Molls!!
A blur of poor medical reports. I lost my cousin aged 66 to High Blood Pressure and mine has hit 207/108. All the meds I take have been doubled. I am not surprised after the last 18 months. Unlike cousin Nigel I am still here to tell the tale.
Sorry to hear that Jaxx.
Well Soodle, you are the fortunate one. For someone with no pot to piddle in, you travel more than anyone I know. You must be doing something right.
Molly - I keep my head down, my fingers in my ears, and if somebody says 'Go', I bloody go!!!! It's worked so far, and long may it continue to do so!
I think the Latin for it is @Carpe
'Carpe Diem'
It is our local school's motto.
Seize the Day. A pretty good motto to live by!
It couldn't happen to a more deserving person. You have had your bad times and come through. This is your reward.
I would be even happier for you if you could smuggle me in your luggaga
I am so looking forward to meeting Ruby! We have spoken many times on the phone & she is a treasure. Jaxx, I'm flying Ryanair! I will be barely be able to bring a toothbrush with me!
You are right, dammit. You couldn't hide my large frame.
Sarah came home last night with Ryanair........they charged her €70 because her carry-on bag didn't fit into their stupid baggage checker contraption! She was very annoyed.
That is how they make their profits.
I am off to my bed, soodle. I get tired very easily these days. Enjoy having your children there for Easter. tc
*peeking in*...
happy passover to friends that are celebrating, or about to celebrate! 30 minutes to sundown here
ty....same to you...
Hello from the springy Northwest. Hope your Passover is wonderful!!
Hi all - Happy Passover, Happy Easter, Happy Holidays - take your choice :)
and may I add greetings to all Babblers who celebrate their faith in what ever form. This is a time of celebration.

hello folks Hello Mother if you are still here.
hi...
nice pic of liquid water, penquis!
ty!...bout time!
for su4... We are having springlike weather here -- alternating rain and sun -- enough sun to want to garden, enough rain to mean it's not really a good idea... LOL So I am resting up this afternoon instead of racing outside to plant and weed.
Still here. Back for a few minutes before warming up dinner.
hello mother. Not sure I will still be awake to eat dinner later... had a snack and now falling asleep a little too fast!
Beautiful clouds billowing up over hee. Glad we're inside as it is a little brisk outside.
It was a tad on the chilly side all day for me.
Got the kids only barely in the room after the assembly before the rain really poured down...
The yard is getting to be so lovely again. By next year it should look like we were never away. Have to put the bulbs in metal cages though -- something ate a bunch of them completely out of the ground.
anyway, down to 55 and my energy just ran out. I am going to lie down for a bit. Good luck with the grid! *poof*
I wore a sweater again. Not really shirtsleeve weather yet.
Talk to you tomorrow.
