Good morning.

Good morning, everyone:)
Hi crossy.
hiya crossy :) *hugs* How are you and the mrs?
((sprite)) we are all fine, but the Mrs. is a tad under the weather with one of those 24 hour stomach bugs:(
aw poor darling. So very unpleasant.
Nice to have a grid with real words in it. Those tiny babblet-filled things were getting me down:)
yesterday's was evil that way
I agree.
fireflies
wtg
anything I can clue before I go?
Not yet, I have a way to go first :) Ty for offering :)
ok :) Have a lovely day, all of you. And crossy, my best wishes to your lady, may she feel better soon.
Take care.
Hello everyone
Tc ((sprite))
And now it is time for Crossy's quote of the day!!
"Ring the bells that can still ring; forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything--That's how the light gets in."--Leonard Cohen
:)
I really like that one:)
I got here in time to see Crossy's tidbit of the day. Yay.
Me too! Highlight of my day
Yes.
Howdy, scrabby:)
Again, I must protest, "assed" is a word. For example, I am a big assed woman.
hyphenated is the problem "big-assed"
Haha
And isn't a feather pillow rated by it's downiness?
lol. I like that
These...these are the questions that haunt me at night!
Well. people have been trying to crack the pillow conundrum for years:)
Right up there with perpetual motion:)
:)
My anxiety last night, as I tried to fall asleep, was that I didn't have WiFi. I had an internet connection per my carrier but something wasn't working. This morning I reset my router and reconnected the modem and router, and voila, I am back in cyberspace!
Ineeed, scrabby. i reset my router on a regular monthy basis for just that reason. cleans things out
Indeed*
It is so annoying when that happens, but then I remember that we didn't used to even have wifi and just laugh at our "evolution".
First world issues:)
Do either of you have the GN 6?
! tell the kids in class how we used to study with piles of encyclopedias stacked around us at the library, and I get a blank stare back. Or how you had to go the the newspaper or archive office and get all bleary-eyed looking through micro-film records

Peri and I share a brain most days.

Haha. Hi Une
good morning Une!
A real beautiful peri is when it all happens within the same logged minute in the chog:)
hey scrabs -- bunnies still recovering well?
true crossy! LOL
What happened to the bunnies??
Yes, Remy finally came out of his cage. This morning he came upstairs when I got up, so I am relieved. Gulliver is running around his room like a nut and I cannot catch him to give him his pain med. He probably doesn't need it.
they got de-manly surgery :-)
sounds like all is well, scrabs :-)
Remy was castrated. Gulliver had a skin growth excised. $856 for Mama.
ouch
off to grab more caffeine . . .
it is funny; I no longer do well on caffeine. I never really cared for coffee, and was mostly a tea drinker, but now I find that a nice glass of fresh juice does it for me in the morning, although i still enjoy an odd tea on the week-ends now that I have the patio set up and the mrs and I can sit and watch the day come to life around us in the morning:)
mm, bit of a run-on there. need some juice. brb
I have a mug of coffee in the morning and no more after that. Sometimes I stop coffee and have tea.
hi all.

Yep, they do. Good clue Aloy, thanks.
Hi all
Hi Liz
ne 9/78 clue please
Hi Molly - interesting icon - recognise it of course - are they out there again?
Or does it just serve as a reminder?
bad connection, have to stop for a while.. ne9 starts with what is in the morning paper and ends with the Loch **** monster
Thanks Aloy - could've sworn I tried that earlier.
A reminder Liz. Words...and pictures...are easily used to fool people on the internet. And JC and company are not the only ones that do such things.
I have no problems with reminding people of how anonymous the internet really is!
Fortunately, there are a lot of ways to expose internet fakers. It's been my experience that sooner or later, they all get found out.
As time goes by I have become much more wary and cynical about what I read on the internet.
And of course it's not difficult to mislead others by falsifying your country of origin through a vpn or tor.
Over the years, I have seen some very nice people get deceived and lied to on internet discussion boards. It's sad that there are people who feel the need to do this.
I agree but it's also sad that people can be gullible - but that's often because of kindheartedness or loneliness. Still I
I'd rather be thought to be uncaring that be deceived by what goes on out there!
I don't think it's uncaring to be discerning. Gullible is a good word. Some people will believe anything.
Uncaring's not the right word - but I'd try to warn people against being taken in by what they read.
You beat me to it - I realised uncaring wasn't the right word!
Sadly, older people seem to be the ones who get fooled the most.
I think younger people are much more aware of computers and generally social media.
Uses and misuses.
That goes for telephone cold calls too.
Back tomorrow to finish this grid. 42 left - enjoy your day, Molly and others in the UK, US and Canada.
good morning dear friends
Delighted to thank you for the referral to Matt Henry. First-rate workers. Great results.
Oh I am so glad!!!! Really really cheered.
interested to hear your opinion of the sidewalks, grant....
Scrabs, how's Remy doing after his trip to the Vet for "tutoring" [old joke]
Mixed. May spoil the country feel of the town, which drew us here in the first place.
bichon, earlier she said Remy was doing well :-))
I feel encouraged, actually - I have lived here, on and off, since I was four, and I have long been jealous of the neighboring towns where people can walk without fear of people driving their Chrysler leBehemoths while on their phones.
Drive down the driftway, or Main street in Hingham - every day there are tons of people walking along, chatting and greeting neighbors, etc. Looks so friendly. I welcome that factor.
Might also be a help to businesses and other resources near town center.

Florence Henderson would be so happy you called it "famous"
Our french fries are healthier for it.
Yay found an 9 by myself
You don't refer to them as pommes frites? How un-snooty of you
Freedom fries were trendy for a while.
Yeah, but now trendy is gluten free and anything with kale or quinoa
I prefer my kale with agent orange, thank you.
good morning everyone
Judi...: D
Hi nan join the fun
Kale is an evil weed that needs to be eliminated from the planet.
I wonder in Germany if people who have gluten issues say gluten tag at night
Quinoa is reallyu good for you but it doesn't taste like much
ty for the chat clues -- didn't have the no 7 - stupid word!
Harry, just for the record, your do9...like a baby duck...is a valid word in most major dictionaries. Just not ancient Enable.
Same thing could be said for kale. Doesn't taste like much. Except maybe shrubbery.
around here you need a cast iron stomach for trendy -- all the local chefs seem to add either wasabi or chipotle to everything
Chipotle.... ptui!
And tofu...really good for you...tastes like rubber
With tofu you have to add lots of seasoning or put in soup
with sheet rock you can add a lot of seasoning and it tastes better than tofu
Well, if you add wasabi, anything you make will taste like...wasabi
I wish the food industry would go back 50 years to organic non GMO food -- ever noticed how much better it tastes? -- especially the organic beef
bl
Um, Nan, in 1965 the food industry was promoting the most unhealthy food we've ever seen.
Shake And Bake anyone?
ok, then go back 70 years or more. In the 60's we always ate out of our on veggie garden
*still do for some things
*pictures Nan foraging around like a deer*
<--wonders how he could still be missing over 20 d's
Eating out of a vegetable garden is great. But that is not what the food industry was promoting.
TV dinners! When the food tasted just like the aluminum container. Yum. Those were the good old days.
The neat round spaghetti you can eat with a spoon...uh oh Spaghetti-O's!!
And let us never forget... SPAM.
never paid much attention to what the food industry was promoting -- my point was that in the 50's and 60's you could get good quality veggies and fruits at the market --- it's is nice to see that coming back. Now if we could just buy flour that comes from grain that hasn't been doctored with a bunch of pesticides and other chemicals that would be lovely.
Well we would have to go back to family owned markets for that and they have all been run out of town by the big chains.
Sigh. My granfather own a Red and White Store. It was aw7.
You can get fresh fruit and vegetables there. Fresh when they were picked three weeks ago before they got on a truck and rode several hundred miles to your grocery store.
we still have farmer's markets and roadside stands all summer, thank goodness.
ty judi
:-)
I buy as much locally grown produce as I can in the summer and flash freeze a lot of it for use during the colder months.
molly who is that person in your icon?
Long story MLF. Guess you were not around for the Nancy Boy fake out.
someone up here has developed an apple that doesn't turn brown after it's been sliced --- can't imagine anyone wanting to buy it
who is nancy boy?
Someone who fake posted here and got a lot of people to believe he was real, when he wasn't. The picture is actually Jun Matsumoto, a Japanese actor.
did anyone ever find the culprit re NB? I gather from comments after that the same person has assumed other identities as well
what do you mean by fake posted?
didnt he supposedly die too?
yes - and without ever reconciling with his imaginary family who threw him out because he was gay
We were either a sociological experiment or a victim of a sociopath. I can't decide which.
oh yes..now i remember..
don't forget he just got married before his tragic death
oh - I missed that one, ruru
i missed that one too..
JC was his best man :D
judi or maybe just someone wanting attention
attention?.. people need attention around here????
so 6.21 help please
got lots of sympathy becuz his "family"disowned hm
ruru sad but true
I thinked he milked some folks out of money they felt so bad for him.....hello everyone
oops part pb
It was a very elaborate creation for attention. Also the failed liver transplant after contracting malaria in Korea or some such.
Sadly there are still people here who A) Believe that Nancy Boy was real and B) Believe in other posters just as fake as Nancy Boy was
so6----to plant
I don't think he milked people for money river
dont believe half the people half the time.and the rest dont believe at all lol
I hope not
sorry.. I need the sp 6/21.. sorry..i'm really confused with this grid
He had me totally snowed. At what point did someone deduce that he was a big faker?
I wouldn't be surprised if people sent him money.
yes ,how was it found out
isn't to plant a so5?
dont have it ruru
the liver transplant
Well there were people who suspected he was fake for a while. And then one day I ran across the photos of Jun Matsumoto on line.
add a leter in the middle to se 4/5
Busted!
sp 6 -- really ruru? -- men's bathing suits?
sp 6/21 before the bath item
thats the 6/24 Nan
cyber look at my clue
There are people here who don't like to be reminded of how badly they were fooled.
I found it
never mind
oh - so it is river - sorry
my mom was in a chat room once and a woman started taking and mentioned she was pregnant I think with twins or something People sent her money and gifts and she wasn't even pregnant
I've seen that sort of thing on discussion boards for years. And yes, it is a sick person's way of getting attention.
That happened to a lot of us when we sent money to someone who had taken up a collection for Mr. P. Someone who had played here for quite a while. Just took the money and ran.
gn 6?
she still plays here judi
she plays on Babble?
Have I told you guys about my upcoming heart surgery? :D
Oh REALLY? Changed her name I guess.
Good to know, Ruru. Drop dead!
nope.. she's still here as wildcat
How much do you need, Ruru?
oh I know that name
enough for the twins zooz :D
I'll be damned. The gall of some people.
LOL
Unfortunately, the biggest lesson of that "collection" seemed to get lost. When someone posts "sad, poor me" stuff on a board it's usually in the hopes of getting attention and money. HINT: You do not KNOW these people. They are just words on a message board. DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY EVER>
ah wildcat from Texas who supposedly "stole" the money
g + plural of smelling organ, MLF
Amen to that Molly.
the only people who changed their names as far as I know are Bookwoman, Riverdance, who are nice people and then old Babblerabble
ty cioc
I was just about to write you a cheque, Ruru. I have torn it up now.
uh annie.. she did steal the money
I don't think Wildcat was the only one involved in that scam.
indian giver zooz!!!
Mr. President went to Mr.P after a hacking incident. It happens.
ru, youre right, quotes removed
who is Bookwomen now? and why the name change?
Thank you for the GN 6 Ciociajudy!
I thought it was bookworm or bookwoman?
Molly, Funny you said that, I also had my suspicions about one of our babblers.
I can't remember nan.. she was something else before
*mmmmm penny for your thoughts annie*
thought something was off there too, molly
Still asking for money, Ru! tsk tsk
ah ruru.....yes I changed my name with the assistance of JMC and Pinni one night. I used to be Momneedshelp.
On no sorry you were handing it out that time..lol
ah.. get with it zooz
a penny I can afford
lol
since I have no cents at all
I wanted to be Zoomzoom but pelt it wrong..no wonder I am crap at this game..lol
Spelt*
EM 6/21?
Just as well, zooz. No copywrite infringement where Mazda is concerned.
lol zoom
i have to actually work.. you guys.. be back later to finish and pack for my trip
Very true, Judi!
em +es4 MLF
Later, ru! If that's who you really are....
toodle pips for now, Ruru.
HA!!
Bye Nancy!
*moons judi* How's that for reality?
Cheeky bugger. Don't ever change.
bye ruru
Eeww
BYE ms. Nancy!!
Awww babble romance!
By the way, I have kids who need Christmas presents and no money, so feel free to send your dollars to www.babblescam.com
Geesh. I've seen that one on Craigslist about a thousand times.
Or just mail your personal check to some "trustworthy" person here.
stuck on the ad 7 and 8's -- clue please?
Yeah but Judi, people bought it here. Why?
me.. me.. me... - I'm trustworthy :D
Ad7/8 - sounds like the little french girl who had many advantures.
ad vowel plus no 4/4
and pl
Well, nan, people here are generally good and kind and want to help each other.
not madeleine then
ad7----lemon*** and what we smell the flowers with
ad + vowel + number before ten
ty for the em 6
Unfortunately, there are those among us who are more than willing to take advantage of that in the most unkind ways.
ty helen
Judi, I will agree that MOST people here are good and kind and want to help each other. But I also agree that this place comes off as Gullible City and people have/are still taking advantage of that.
true judi -- in a community this size I think that is inevitable
molly and that will probably never change sadly
Well I did send money when someones husband passed away. And they got her a wonderful bunch of flowers and a card. and she was very greatful. So There are some genuine people here.
is the 2nd ad 8 similar to the first?
Color me a LOT less gullible than I used to be.
now if someone wants to help finance our trip to Europe this fall ....
no idea cyber only have ad 8/45
Unfortunately, I am not so free with donations as I used to be. Sad.
hi annie
zooz, I sent money to Jellen also. I think many of us did.
Yes, Nan first one ends in a number the second one ends in a smelling organ.
Hi fan :)
Zoom, if you are mentioning Jellen, that was her fiance not her husband. And the collection went totally through PayPal, which goes directly to the person. The Mr P scam involved personal checks that were cashed but supposedly the money was never sent to Mr P. I say supposedly because Mr P mysteriously vanished from Babble after all that, so I have my doubts about the whole thing.
ty zoom
zooz plural of a number?
Yes, Mlf.
Thanks for clearing that up, Ruru.I did remember bits of it.
Molly, I have a question then, who was collecting the money for Mr. P...Wildcat?
thanks zooz
and was Mr P really married to Lickety?
That remains to be seen Annie. Most checks that were cashed and not sent were sent to Wildcat. I don't know who was supposed to send the money forward.
Criminy. This place is sounding like a soap opera.
whole thing seemed rather strange and soap operaish
Again, I'm out of the loop. I thought Mr. P was still around. Just played on Aussie time.
maybe judi -- really don't know
Molly, I have my suspicions but I would rather not say. I could be wrong but this little man sitting on my shoulder says "nah"
The whole "poor me" thing is usually something to be concerned with. How many surgeries and personal tragedies can one person have?
Well I did stumb my toe the other day and it bloody hurt..just saying!
Poor Zooz! How tragic. *emptying bank account now*
*writes a check for zooz*
I had two last year and am delighted to report that it is wonderful to be able to move around pain free again!
Oh wait. It's already empty. Well, tough sh*t then.
LOL
((Nan))
But it's the thought that counts, right?
I only give out hugs these days...And they are free :-)
hugs are always appreciated, zoom
Yes it is, Judi!, I am grateful :-)
Annie, I think you know that the little guy on your shoulder is usually right.
Or he's just a perv trying to look down your blouse.
No Judi, the little guy on Annie's shoulder is not Josh Duggar.

Hey, he worked construction for three months. He's sanctified.
Wow. Three whole months. Sounds like community service to me.
I was in the kitchen peeling potatoes. Yes, about the little man, he knows all.
NG5? WTF? What's the point score on that bad boy?
Molly, Is your son writing a book about his salvation? Now I am back to the kitchen for a while.
Ng5/22.
NM, got it. That's one crazy word
ng 5/22
back later.
Matty, you must be an expert on foreign currency to play this game.
Ng + expression of joy.
As the definition page says "few English speakers likely know this word". And yet, this page is presented in the English language.
lol. Definitions to make the reader feel inferior.

i am having difficulty with them, using a scoop to keep them even. it helps with apportionment but not with size, wven though I am rotating the sheets - which is unheard of for me, but whatever martha says...

yes, certain cities have restrictions -- not here in Nashville, but I know in Memphis the limit is 2
i suppose it is for the dog's own good. but some people are just so natural as dog owners. it's such a pity that it is not recognised.
