good morning all
need help with the ac 5/12?
sorry wrong grid! lol
{{hugs}} and good morning dear sprite. lolll macca....what year is it?
hello my dear friend *hugs*
i have just finished remaking the bed. * sigh * now i gets to sit quietly.
down, girl. Enough is enough.
how are you today sprite?
a bit shaky. One of those nights. And I hurt my ankle yesterday, which hurt my hip. But otherwise, pretty good.
poor sprite!! *gentle hugs and kisses*
:)
went back to the doctor yesterday with rob and now he has prednisilon. The blood tests didn't indicate a bacterial infection, and hinted at gout. Doc wasn't sure, and said to go to the weekend doctor if rob would get a fever or the leg would become red.
he's awfully young to have out. i hope the prednisolone helps.
ugh !!!! * gout * ( my fingernails need cutting)
me too. and the poor man has had it as early as about 10 years ago. Painful as can be. And this time, it is swollen twice as much as any other time. His foot is grotesk.
and of course he is sitting down with it elevated, right?
yeah... some of the time. Nothing like a headstrong guy.
lolllll, i thought so.
lol... they are as bad as children
years ago, the treatment for gout was colchicine.i wonder if it is still around?
yes it is. Rob has colchicine and arcoxia for 'normal' attacks. But that did not help this time.
sprite, dinner is ready. i will heck in later to see if you are still here. if not... xoxox
*check*
*hugs* darling adn enjoy your dinner
*and*
*burp* and back..... lollll
jeeezzz louise... that is inhaling your dinner, lol. Was it good? Did you taste it at all? :D
chewing is such a waste of time... yeah, it was good. carrots, beans and corn kernels with chips and a small fillet of fish, crumbed.
ah, nice
bb in a few
ok darling
Good morning, everybody:)
back.
{{hugs}} and good morning crossy
((rose))
wb darling, and hi crossy! *hugs8
((sprite))
05:30 on a Saturday and I am wide awake:/
poor man
I best get used to it. Nowadays it is midnight till 5 am--on a good night
ugh crossy, you poor thing.
insomnia is a bitch
Well, at least I have Babble at any time of the day or night:)
true, dat. Good companion, babble.
oh sprite, did i tell you? son simon and wife lu have decided to have regular family get-togethers. but have excluded Dan and his family. i feel a little ncomfortable about that. will try and grab simon next tuesday and discuss that.
fireflies
WTG SPRITE!!!!
they must have their reasons for that.
yeah, i know. son josh is fed up with dan at the moment.
*hugs* Never easy, family issues.
Our family has historically been terrible about get-togethers. We get together, get drunk, fight, then agree to do it in another five years, BUT if the shait really hit the fan with any one of us, you just call, and we are there. WE are just not "chummy" is all:)
i am trying to pour oil on troubled waters, or build a bridge over.
We tried that but the bridge needed would be too bloody big:/
perhaps, rose, you should stay out of it? Not being the mediator, not getting in between the parties? let them sort it out between themselves.
i just hope it isn't because of what has happened between dan and me.
one little flame is all it takes, and the oil will burn on the water, and take the bridge down.
even if so, darling, it is still their decision, and not yours.
so you don't think i should offer to step out of the picture? just knowing that the other two and their wives want me is enough.
exactly. If they had wanted you out of the picture, they would have invited dan and excluded you. If you want to go, go, and enjoy it :)
okay, then. i will and shall.... loll
good :D *hugs* I am off for today, lots of love to you both and *hugs*.
{{hugs}} and lots of love and kisses dear sprite. xoxoxox
greetings!
angel!! hello. how did your cat go??
and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!
granny, she had a malignancy...
oh dear, angel, how sad.
On myfridgefood.com you can type in all the food you have on hand, and it will put up recipes of everything you can make with those ingredients:)
I am so sorry, angel;(
we have decded not to put her through a total mastectomy. The vet is completely supportive.
wow crossy. what a helpful site!!
she isn't in pain is she, angel?
however, the vet does think it was all removed via the biopsy for now.
we are just going to care for her as we have always done and keep her as comfortable as we can.
good for you angel. i am sure she will appreciate all you do for her.
no pain, no discomfort at all.
we made a firm commitment to care for our cats for their whole lifetimes. no matter what, that has not and will not change.
I firmly believe that, if she could speak, she would say "no more surgery."
*smiling* i am sure she would angel.
We made the mistake of trying to prolong the life of our first cat, who had rectal cancer. We spent $1600.00 on vets, and she was still uncomfortable and had zero quality of life.We let her have her justly deserved rest after that. She was 16
duchess and her sister will be 13 on September 14.
16 is a good age, crossy. to me it appears you made the correct decision.
we promised duchess we would always be here for her, and we would help her cross the rainbow bridge in peace when it's time. we will not allow her to suffer, but we want the best quality of life possible for her.
we love our girls as though they are our children. in a way, they are.
it will break my heart when she passes.
g'night all. time for me to go. angel, i know duchess is exactly where she needs to be.
Morning all.
howdy! pretty quiet at the moment, huh?
haha, didn't even realize how long it had been since the last comment...
Good morning world
Oh, look who is back with her original sign on
Not on my current laptop though. I can sign in but I still cannot access Pro and Expert
What are the stats for the E in the lower right hand corner, please?
ex 5/22
OK, looking :)
And found it. How is it the stats can help so much?
when there's an ex involved, it's easy
I try to keep my ex as far from being involved with me as possible :)
LOL matty
half way bbl
Ugh!... $200.00 later and the groceries are MOSTLY done for a family of three for the month:(
We are lowering our carbon footprint by eating less meat, but not by choice! $20.00 beef and pork roasts are now the norm, and a simple half-ham is almost $15.00! Pasta, fish, beans and rice for our group!
I caught a good sale a couple weeks ago, big pork loins for $1.79/lb, scooped a couple - will cut chops and roasts from them. was a bit gleeful at the time, haha!
Not bad at all:)
can't even afford burger most days, sigh. been cutting ours with ground pork or turkey, but even those are pricey.
That is 1/2 to 1/3 of what they want here today:(
I was shocked to see beef and pork almost on par for a roast!
have developed a liking for ground pork sloppy joes, lately - I use mostly BBQ sauce in mine, tastes like BBQ chops from the grill, sort of.
Cool:)
usually trying to feed 6 people. 8 at the moment.
Know what I miss? A big rack of ribs on the bbq:)
oh, me too. love ribs.
feeding 8 a day must take some severe budgeting.
thankfully a few of them are usually gone at any given meal, lol
lotsa pasta here, too, glad I like it.
lol. Have to get R.S.V.P's so you know how mcuh to cook at dinner
I just tell 'em the leftovers are in the fridge, deal with it! :)
lol. Yup!
son's GF could live on mac and cheese, I swear. she makes it all the time in the middle of the night. :P
Tonight is bar food. I got a good deal on honey-garlic wings. i will add a side of california veggie mix and some bacon-ranch dip
yum, sounds good!
I had a gf long ago who used to get up at 3 am to make a pan of fried onions..
just the onions? wow. reminds me of an old BF's mom, she fried onions for special dinners, there'd be the bowl of them on the table with all the Thanksgiving sides. I thought it was odd, he seemed used to it.
Wow, 50 dollars a week to feed three adults? That's amazing
Not done yet, Molly. Still need to hit the farm for cheese, eggs, and home-made meat pies.
And will price out some fresh chicken while over there.
I've been making meat pies lately. Finally hit on the right recipe for crust.
Like my eggs fresh enough so that sometimes they are still warm and you have to wash them when you get home:)
A good crust goes a long way to making the perfect pie
I remember when Hubs was in school in Florida for a year, I fed the three of us on $15 or $20/week. Lots of potatoes, spaghetti and stew. Big night was burgers and homemade fries. Was in late '80s, daughter was under 2 yrs old. Hard to believe we got through that.
I used to be able to handle Pillsbury dough...rolls and pie crust...but lately it has a weird taste I don't care for.
It's hard/impossible to eliminate carbs when you are working with a tight food budget
often some store brands taste better than name brands, seems to me.
Burgers used to be a cheap meal night--not any more. now to get 8 good all-beef burgers is on par with a roast
Most store brands are name brands, just in different packaging.
I prefer my store brand of bacon over the name brands. Was actually "on sale" today so picked up one package
yay, bacon for crossy! :D
Yup. $4.00 , plus tax for 3/4 of a pond
pound
good for one meal
I just got my drivers permit renewed this month. We have to do this every 5 years. The pictures were so different i actually weighed myself(I normally do not bother) Was delighted to find that in the last 5 years I lost 40!! pounds!
well, congrats! :)
:)

Hiya, kiddos! How goes the Saturday?
I see today's grid is brought to us by the letter "E".
flea
Sorry.
I awoke with a migraine so I took naproxen and will have more coffee now.
Sorry to hear that, Scrabbs. Had one last night, but it was because I topped off my night with a beer. Beer always gives me headaches now.
hello all
Hi Owl
Hiya, TO!
I didn't go to bed til 1230. We kayaked yesterday, had dinner, and I got home at almost 11. I was too revved up to fall asleep.
hello scrabs, hello judi.
fa5/18 = unit in physics named after a guy
Huh. Monkied it. News to me. Is he the guy that made the cage?
Hi folks
Mornin bich!
hi bich,
IDK, Judi. He studied electromagnetism.
Hi Bichon and pups.
Ah. I think that may be the same guy. There's a thing called a Fa5-ay cage. Supposed to protect people and electronics from EMPs and general radio, electrical interference. Thus is the sum total of my knowledge of subjects of physics.
Think I saw it used in a horror movie or some such.
I don't remember much physics anymore, except mechanics. But I did like the course a lot. I took engineering physics when I was deciding on a major. I chose biology over math and engineering.
Well, biology is engineering on a much grander scale. :-)
Oh, yes!
52 left and I am stuck. Maybe I will return later.
There was mention and use of one of those cages in Fringe. Peter wore one when he went into the house that had been affected by time travel.
One of the characters in LOST also had that Fa last name.
Yes! I was just reading about the cages. An MRI machine is a version of one. Also said that electrical linemen wear Fa5ay suits when working with high voltage. Reckon I learned something today.
Loved Fringe. I miss Walter.
I just re-watched the entire series on Amazon Prime. One of the best shows on TV ever. John Noble is one of my favorite actors. The character of Walter Bishop was one of my favorite characters.
And for you shoplifting fans, just line your tote bag with foil to thwart the clunky anti-theft devices on clothing.
He was brilliant in that role. It must have been a blast to play that character.
It's unfortunate that Anna Torv has blended back into oblivion after Fringe. I thought she was very good in the series.
Or, maybe she doesn't have to work any more. Probably made a ton of money working on that show.
Well, there's that. Between Dawson's Creek and Fringe, I think all Josh Jackson has to do is adore Diane Kruger.
Y'know, Molls. The more I see the picture of that Japanese actor in your icon, the more pissed off I get about the whole Nancy Boy thing. What a douche bag that guy was.
I agree. It is very cruel to fool people into believing you are something that you're not. Especially nice people like the ones here.
Hubby is still snoring away. I have to go sic a cat on him I think.
That worked. Viv was very helpful. Talking him awake and giving him love bites. Good kitty.
I guess old men get that from their cats, instead of their wives : D
lol. Ahem. Yes.
Nothing like it
I figured the words "love bite" would bring Ruru out of hiding.
I just woke up
Nothing like love bites from a cat? You've been single too long.
Not that..just waking up to a pussycat of top of you...
*knew he was gonna go there*
Well...ms inuendo started it..😃
Love bites are fun too though
I suppose I have to agree.
I've never quite understood the whole "critters in the bed" thing
Beastiality. No! No! Just nice for cuddles.
Depends on the animal you let into bed
Now that my beast is awake, it's time to feed the dog and get ready to go to breakfast. Tapping out with 22 words left. Ta! *Poof*
Beast of burden?
Well, at least he springs for breakfast.
I hope it's epic
Aren't all brekkies that way
I need a ra 6.21
Backwards, Mr Rather walked fast
Yay. Ty

ty ru -- what did you cook last night?
Spring lamb. Scallops and extras
mmm - sounds good
It was good. The scallops didnt cooperate
what do you mean, didn't cooperate?
They had so much water in them i couldn't sear them
oh - too bad
The lamb came out nice.
queen scallops or bay scallops?
don't see any ca 6 that has anything to do with cooking
Jilli's bbq really cooked them quickly
that's good
I dont know bugs got them
ouch
They were fairly large but shrunk a lot
Hello
Hi harp
hi harp
oh -- thought you were say that bugs (insects) had eaten them!
We can never get them other than flash frozen, so with the really large ones, we cut them in half and let them rest on a paper towel for a few minutes before searing them -- that gets rid of some of the water.
did some one connect the ca 6 to cooking?
Well then, I will "duck" for referring to you as a chef, French or otherwise
Bugsaw bought them . I did my best with them
They were tasty.. but i love the browned edges and couldn't get it
sounds like you are having a babble gathering on Salt Spring
We are . Tonight too.
Ha! I just won a bet with myself : D
sounds like fun
What is the bet?

Not walked + Mr Rather, newsman
Oh merci beau coups! I've never seen that word before!
Molly, I keep mixing you and ru up with the same icon
I never like the song "Row, Row your boat"!
I missed the whole Nancy Boy thing but I remember a spat with anime involved, about ten years ago
I don't think it was that long ago jane
You were fortunate to miss it Harp. Whoever that was, they conned a lot of people.
I know, the NB thing was recent but there was one near the inception of Babble.
I started play in about '07, but it might have been before that. Then there was the whole Mrs. P thing and people here who got bilked out of money
It's one thing for there to be arguments or disagreements. That will happen in any group of people. It's another thing entirely to lie and deceive a lot of nice people.
Sadly, a lot of people here got badly burned by that Mr P thing.
I missed that entirely. I was blissfully playing Farmville.
People here say Babble is addictive but from what I hear, Farmville is ten times more addictive.
phantom:fandance
And Ruby would know that word because she does them. : D
I had a blast with FV but my computer is too slow to do it now. There's lots of ads to ignore though.
two left, both f's. Think I'll go to Farmer's Marker and see if it gives me a new perspective.
Ads on Facebook? No, really? No wonder that Zuckerberg kid is a gabillionaire.
oops just got one, the kitty
how could i miss that?
Could someone please clue the fa6, 27 so I can get on with my life?
one who fans
fe 6, pls
one of a cat persuasion
Molly..... I can you inform me what happened with Nancyboy? If you would like to do it through email, i can give mine to you.
thanks! fireworks on off to farmer's market
ty Erda
Nancy Boy was a fake poster here who posted a lot and for a long time and fooled a lot of people with his sad tales of woe. That is the short version. Lesson being, be careful who and what you believe.
re5,22 please? Nay, PLEASE!!
re + first three of country south of us
Reusa
Thank you, Molly!!
Damn it
Oh, are you Canadian now? Have fun with that.
Well..i am in canada
Did nancy boy ever do a bathroom remodel? I can't remember
Let me know if you need a translator... : D
Well with all these extra vowels flying around here i might
Don't forget to have a sense of humour and if you write a cheque, there is the money difference to consider. Steer clear of that poutine stuff and remember that Mounties don't just like their horses.
And please don't get Sanni confused with a sarnie...and don't ask me how sandwich became sarnie because it's beyond me.
hello hello
Hi there Annie

Things here are so amusing sometimes
that they are:)
How is the bathroom remodel going?
Grout is drying as we speak. Toilet is bolted back down, and we will be able to fully use the bathroom mid-day tomorrow:)
Not a remodel per-se, but rather a long-overdue critical repair. Having tile fall from the rotted, water-saturated wall and onto your head while having a tub was not good.
new 12 inch tile on the floor and matching 6- inch tile on the tub surround walls
So you are sort of grout fishing?
lol
Took a lot of labour to put it all in so fast, but it was worth it. had to put up new green-board behind it all as there was some mould. Tile is a nice mushroom cap colour.. lol love using those vowels!
Makes the American dictionary in this computer have apoplexy:)
Mould is not good.
Nope; not good at all.
Amazing. Your landlord must love you for doing all that work free of charge.
I did not do all of that.
Think I am going to pay that money for the tile? Nope.
I just paid for the nice euro shower head
See more of the NancyBoy icon now than when he was actually slithering around here:)
Can never get e
Finally dug out that lone i :)
e
Oh yeah, the fake Nancy Boy photo. Interesting how fake photographs can fake people out.
Glad you are here for us.
