sammysmom, I just glanced at the chat and had to grin, I visit my friends church sometimes and they are wonderful and vocal and when someone there says "God is good..." everyone who hears it replies very loudly"...all the time!" Now whenever I see or hear it, that just automatically comes out. So, ....ALL THE TIME!
thank you marmar... it is so

Hi and hugs sprite. Hope alls well with you this morning :)
hello Liz :) Yes, I am fine. How are you two?
We're well too, thanks.
good to hear! Any nice things planned for tomorrow?
No. Car service and then see what the weathers like.
And you, today?
keeping low profile today. Will do some more translating and not much more.
Look after yourself
yeah I will. We had a neighbourhood bbq day before yesterday, and I have been on my legs too much. Second day after overtaxing is always the worst, lol. I will move slowly and take it easy.
Good. Bbq sounds like fun.
yeah it was. We do it every 5th year. Our square was built 35 years back, many of the original people still living here, and all good neighbours. Quite a good atmosphere. And the bbq helps too!
Time for dinner - 200 down. This has slowed right down for me now :( anyway, sorry time so short. Hugs
enjoy your dinner and your evening, Liz :) Hugs* for the both of you.
Good morning, everybody:) Lady insomnia pays another visit. Been up since 04:00, so I may as well Babble:)
always lovely to see you, crossy, even though I'd rather have you slept well :) *hugs*
((sprite))
Graduation i9s in two day. Been thinking on that as well. keeps my mind churning, especially the speech i have to make in front of 200+ people:)
hehehe... just be yourself, it will be fine.
So.. I can go neeked under my robes then? lol
sure, np!
Think I may do a "Patch Adams" :)
you can tell the public: "Someone told me to picture you all nekkid. So I thought I'd give a good example."
lol
what is a patch adams?
it is from a Robin Wiliams movie. He was graduating and had to speak, what they did not know was that he was naked under his robes, and when he bowed to the faculty, he ended up mooning the audience
lol
If you have never seen the movie" Patch Adams," Sprite, I highly recommend it:)
An older film now, but one that is well made.
better check under the le7. After seeing Police Academy, you know it can be important.
ok, will write it down, thanks crossy. I love Robbie Williams.
darn it. Robin Williams.
I have never seen Police Academy:)
ah. Ok. I don't recommend it. Very much teenager fun. I was a teenager when seeing it though, so I had a good laugh back then :)
Back in a few. Must go on a quest for the perfect cup of tea:)
at some point, someone tries to make trouble for another by bringing a prostitute to his room. And this guy hides the prostitute under a le7. When the top guy gives his speech, the girl does her job... zips him open and... makes giving his speech rather difficult.
ok :) Bring me an imperfect one please... weak and no sugar or milk.
Ty , sprite, However in my case I do not think that has been added to this years graduation ceremony budget;))
brb
better not, lol. It would be akward, in stead of award.
must be off, have a lovely day crossy!
Morning.
Hello, Sukee :-)
Hi zoo.

Oh no..my stomach is starting to rumble.
clues for the 10s and the 11 plz
I am so used to seeing "cluer" in the chat that I try it in the grid. Of course it is not accepted. I guess if we are proper we are to say "those who clued". Like anyone is going to take the time to type that out
hahaha I did try that myself earlier too, Molly.Glad I was not the only one!
CO 10/84 is when you get a whole series of items..like books..records..etc
ty zoo
Not found the 11 yet.
Hi all
ci 10 / 11 - burn these candles to keep mosquitoes away
Hello, LIz :-)
Hi zooz - how are you?
I am okay thannk you :-) How about you?
hi Liz, spotted any humbacks yet?
No idea what these candles are :-(
Builds on the ci 6/21 - lemony flavour. Add a girl's name
I'm fine thanks
you burn them and allegedly the mosquitos stay away. Do you have mosquitos in the UK?
ty liz
We certainly have them here in summer! I think the candles help to some extent.
We do, Bichon. But I have never used candles to keep them away.
yw movieman
Found the Ci 10 & 11 thank you, Liz!
yw
The mosquitos here can carry West Nile virus.
That doesn't sound very nice
All ours carry thank goodness is a horrible bite.
Btw Bichon - saw a very friendly breaching whale last Thursday - our first time out this year.
I have never had any luck repelling mosquitoes with that stuff. Deep Woods Off is the only thing that works for me. And the mosquitoes here are nasty this year due to all the rain.
Would love to go whale watching!
That's great Liz
Hope you make it one day zooz - going again this Thursday.
If I ever win the lottery, Liz, then you never know..lol
:)
Zoom, the candles...add the last 4 of the glass slipper girl to the ci6/21
Got it thank you, Molly :-)
The scent of that fruit is added to the candles
It must be awesome to see the power of the whales when they blow out air and spray everyone..lol
It really is - plus the sound when they exhale too.
Whale snot is supposed to bring good luck - haha!
LOL
I would take a gallon of it if I knew it worked, Liz :-)
Good to know Liz
Useless bit of info ;)
Ci10 never works for me. When out in the bush it is D.E.E.T, D.E.E.T, and more D.E.E.T!
It is no good I need to grab a bite to eat.Happy babbling everyone!
Enjoy lunch zooz
I'm with you crossy. We've tried the lemony stuff and it doesn't work
I think it's more the smoke from lots of candles that puts them off.

Oh no, I have to hear this. What "music" from the 80's did you love? (Knows ABBA is coming)
ABBA!
Teehee!
Total Eclipse of the Heart
That's okay Zoom, I still like you.
Yeah nice one, Hurshy.
Anyone who has given ****s should be in the penalty box
((Molly))
ev'ry rose has its thorn
Already there, Douglas.
i think we're alone now
Oh no..got that song in my head now.
Total Eclipse of the Heart is the song that killed American Idol, it says here.
99 red balloons
Stand and deliver.
Oh I loved, Nina.
nena.
Not sure how it was spelt to be hoonest.
99 Red Balloons got my attention for mentioning Captain Kirk. Were there any other songs that did that?
U2's Joshua Tree album
REM's Stand
REM excellent.
various iconic things from Michael Jackson and Madonna
I was a big fan of Gary Numan at the time too.
OMD
DEpeche Mode.
hi all. back to try to get half way. any super clues?
99 Red Balloons makes my ears bleed. As does most of the pop music from the 80's. Michael Jackson is the exception.
super clues?
ABBA isn't bad -- just boring. Every song has the same rhythm and the same harmonization, therefore sounds the same
livin on a prayer
purple rain
Not too keen on prince.
I am convinced that ABBA plays in a loop on the muzak in Hell
LOL
Oh thank you Hursh, Prince is an exception as well.
lol molly --- agree that more than one abba song in a row is hard to listen to
Prince is a musical genius
Wanna be startin something, Molly :-)
born in the USA
Good ole Bruce.
I am a diehard Springsteen fan, but the 80's were not his best years (*cough* Glory Days *cough*)
we didn't start the fire
Fleetwood Mac.
Billy joel is amazing.
i'm not a big springsteen fan.. I do like the tunnel of love album though
see - the 80s had a little something for everyone
I can listen to most genres except grunge so called music.
like the welsh singer - can't remember the name -- something Jones, I think
Tom :-)
nora jones?
oh
LOL
and some bryan adams stuff too - summer of '69
yes Tom Jones
Oh my, really? Tom Jones? Nan likes tight pants, Nan likes tight pants : D
Why why why delilah.
Women would throw their knickers at him when he was on stage so I am told.
The only Tom Jones song I like is "It's Not Unusual" and that is all about The Carlton Dance
carlton was so funny
did you see the thing about how will smith is now older than uncle phil was when that show started?
ok i have one 10 (co), but no 9's and not the 11, any helps?
I sent my son an email once, asking "Do you still do the Carlton dance?" His response: "Of course. Every morning, I get up, have coffee, shower, shave and do the Carlton dance." I love my kids.
the 11 is plural of a 10: so here goes: if you wish to picnic outside and there are bugs and mosquitos, you use this candle to make sure they dont come near you. and the plural.
SUPER CLUE!!!!!

I'm amazed that you still have your 45's. That is what we call them here in these United States. Since they place at 45 RPMs.

Hi all - can somone give me a clue for the last re 5/10 - please.
Sukee, glad you're here. I wanted to tell you that if I find out anything about my legs while going to specialists, I'll let you know.
The last re5 means a style that replicates a former time
I'm sure you've explored many avenues already but there might be something that can help.
Thanks - was looking at the wrong r.
What's wrong with your legs, Mimi?
I am here now. 138 words left and I did not have the to5!
I an having trouble moving them, Molly. Just got back from the hospital and they did 2 MRIs, 2 CAT scans, 2 ultrasounds and lots of blood work so I now know everything I DON'T have but not what I DO. I have a lot of trouble transitioning from sitting to standing and sometimes need a walker to move around, though I'm determined and seem to have made myself stronger. They wanted me to go to skilled nursing after hospital but I refused. It's very frustrating and I cannot leave my apt. because I can't navigate the stairs outside as I'm on the second floor. When I came home and my son was with me in case I stumbled, you would not even believe the pain of trying to get up those stairs. My legs feel like lead weights that I'm dragging around.
oh, Mimi, I'm so very sorry . . .
Thanks, Une. I just want a diagnosis so we can fix it! Thought I had MS but, no, that's not it. They think it's related to the fact that my back surgery has now failed and I have impingement again but I don't agree.
Mimi, I'm sorry to butt in on your problem since you don't know me at all, but have you heard of a Movement Disorder Specialist? It's a neurology specialty, and a lot of people with Parkinson's see them. I thought maybe one could help you - I hate to see anyone suffer. Getting older isn't any fun, I'll tell ya! I hope you get it figured out really quickly! Best wishes!
Thank goodness I can still do my work as I can sit at the computer and transcribe.
Thank you, Kam, I appreciate the info. I'll write it down. The next specialist I do to will be a neurologist so they may know about this.
You're welcome Mimi. Hope the neuro can help!
A friend of mine had the same thing happen and they gave her Neurontin to treat fibromyalgia and it helped. I'm taking the same thing and it isn't helping me.
crossing fingers and toes that you're able to find a solution and get some relief, Mimi!
Oh, Neurontin is bad, nasty stuff. I hate what it did to me. An article just came out about it last week. Let me try to find it again, then shorten the link so I don't break the chat!
My poor cats went crazy when I came home. Gave me so much love. I can only imagine what they thought seeing the EMT men come and take me away and then being gone for awhile. Can't explain to them that I'm coming back.
Yes, I'm not crazy about it either, Kam. Since it doesn't seem to be doing any good I think I'm going to discontinue it anyway.
Here tinyurl.com/yzjbzt4

Mimi, have you looked into acupuncture or acupressure. ?
Butting in from lurk corner... Mimi, you might consider accupuncture. It is harmless and can work miracles.
Like Molly said...
If you want to stop, Mimi, you have to taper, stopping cold could cause seizures. I'll third the accupuncture suggestion, it has really helped me in the past.
Wow, Kam, just read that article. That's it for me...stopping it. I haven't taken it for long, Kam, but will decrease dose to stop anyway. Thanks so much for the info. I hadn't gotten around to looking it up yet as I've been in the hospital. Speaking to the topic of brain health, did you know a study was done that showed a relationship between vitamin D deficiency and dementia? Am taking supplemental and have been for awhile as well as CoQ10 and magnesium.
I'll check out acupuncture/acupressure. I do believe in those types of therapies.
Mimi, check with your doctor about your supplements and how they may affect your other medications.
I've seen the Vit D info. I try to use food and supplements instead of drugs if at all possible. I have fibro and hubby has PD, so between the two of us, we have enough to deal with. I swear by magnesium and get leg cramps if I don't take enough. Yep, that article was pretty scary - and the stupid FDA doesn't seem to care.
I'm actually not taking many meds, just high blood pressure and aspirin. My cardiologist told me to keep taking the CoQ10 and he's the one who prescribes the blood pressure meds (only 2). I also occasionally take afib med but only when needed. I try to take as little meds as possible and I do research the supplements. Anything that can help you can also harm you.
Molly, you are correct - I know some supplements and decrease uptake of certain meds. But, some meds can deplete your body of necessary vitamins and minerals too.
Yes, Kam, I find magnesium to be great for muscle issues. I think I also need to eat more food with potassium so got some bananas and eat fresh veggies like tomatoes, red potatoes, onions. I also take garlic.
Also found out at the hospital that I have a UTI with E coli in the urine! Am on antibiotic for that so taking acidophilus in conjunction with the antibiotic.
If you have inflammation issues, nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes) can increase inflammation. My chiro says he is so much busier when people start eating lots of their fresh tomatoes.
I don't eat lots but do eat a couple of tomatoes a week and love them. Will be careful of the potatoes but they're one of the few things I can eat (bake them) now that my new dentures aren't working. Let's face it....my body is just a train wreck!
Also have edema in caves and feet so taking a Lasix-type med for that which is combined with the blood pressure med, Lisinopril.
calves
Since I'm so limited in what I can do, I'm lucky to have Safeway grocery delivery. They bring them up the stairs and into my kitchen for $6.95 and no tipping. Just order online as if I'm shopping aisle by aisle.
Oh my, hope you get through the antibiotics without too much trouble. Eating fermented foods is supposed to help keep your gut healthy while you're taking them. Unfortunately, I hate fermented stuff except kimchi, and hubby hates that stuff! I started putting lemon juice in my water to balance my ph. I think it helps. Is your son staying with you? Sounds like you need someone around to keep an eye on you to make sure you're doing ok!!
Yay for delivery! Hubby is really good about doing the shopping for us.
No, my son has a family and a job to take care of. I have a great neighbor right across the breezeway (just a couple of yards away) and she checks on me and gets my mail at the office and will run errands. We've been neighbors for several years.
I started drinking a small amount of cider vinegar every day and that helps as well. I actually like the taste so don't even need to combine it with anything. Can't eat salad right now....or meat...or anything crunchy. Eating lots of peanut butter/banana/Miracle Whip sandwiches, baked potatoes, soup. Can't get the dentures fixed either because I can only get to the dentist when my son comes to take me and must combine that with going to the doctor. What a mess.
Can't beat a good neighbor!
I need to try the apple cider vinegar, but can't get past the pucker the thought of it causes!
A friend of mine said my middle name should be Tenacious because I am so determined to just make things work. I'm actually doing fine by myself.
Good for you! A positive attitude and keepin' on keepin' on is great!
When I first got home from hospital less than a week ago I had to roll onto my stomach on the arm of the couch and push myself up but now I can get up by using my arms and just gritting my teeth! Yes, a positive attitude is vital and I believe in focusing on the positive regardless of the situation. Doing the opposite just makes no sense.
Right before going to hospital I had to get my son to come over and pull me up from the couch just so I could go to the bathroom...not pretty.
I've monopolized the chat so am going to go take a nap. Thanks for the support, everyone! This is such a wonderful community.
Hope you get to feeling better soon!
