how is the pool fence coming along, Liz?
Slowly! Rain means hubby can't take electrical stuff outside! He's fixing the wood that's rotted out under the decking before fencing can be put in.
How's life treating you?

It's been dull and damp on and off for about 3 weeks :(

Hi all.
Hello, Sukee :-)
Hi zoo.
I had to have my kitty put down today.
Oh, sad kitty news
((Sukee)) Sorry to hear that.
All for the best, he has been sick for about a year and is now at peace.
Yes it is better than let them suffer.
He was mostly blind and now she said he was also developing cataracts. I could have done more tests and maybe he could have lasted another 6 months.
so sorry sukee...always sad even when you know it's the right thing to do
You did the right thing, Sukee.
The apartment will feel very empty.
I know it is early. But maybe think about having another pet.
I might, eventually. I got Boo a little while after my last cat died. There are lots of kittens needing homes.
i've been thinking about fostering mama cats and their kittens but i'm afraid i'd want to keep every one of them
Me too.
I know I would find a cat as smart as he was :)
good morning, everyone :-)

That nasty ar head covering word that eludes us often.
Hi Molly
Hi Annie, did you get rained on in CT?
Yes, we did but they played golf in between the drops. It was a very nice weekend in spite of the ra4.
ty for the hint Annie
Even tho my daughter and I speak everyday, it is not the same as being with her, my sil and the grandkids.
I know what you mean
The older I get the harder it is for me emotionally.
Have you thought of moving to CT. It's pretty pricey and there might not be such good opportunities for you son
bichon, I have but I really cannot afford to live in CT and the opportunities for my son are not as good as NYC. It would be very hard to uproot him, probably me too at my age.
When we first moved from NYC to CT in '72 I was sure we'd be back in a year. Certainly didn't work out that way
So I am in Brooklyn which really is okay with me.
Could be worse. Ct is just a subway and Metro North ride away
bichon, I drive there. It is one hour and a half. Not so bad.
Fluffies need a walk. bbs
I need to order food in. Italian food sounds good to me. See you all tomorrow.
bye annie and all
Good afternoon, everybody:)
hi crossy
hi crossy
HELLO crossy! So good to see you here for the few minutes I can be here
Hello all
hi car, aeb, crossy, blah and Bugs
hi bichon
Wheee - found the 9
yaa for car! :)
Ahhh, the little things that make my day special!
We must celebrate the small victories and lovingly place them on a string within our minds. One day they will be a set of pearls to bring out whenever we are down:).. mmm I will have to use that in a book:))
Yes, please!
Change bring out to cherish and I think it can go to print:)
:)
An idle summer is before me; time to get writing again:)
Today is the first day of our summer schedule...a few bumps, but otherwise I think I am going to like it!
I am going to get some serious baking under way in the next few days. I am tired of the chemical-filled store snacks. Going to be doing some cupcakes, rice krispie squares and a few loaves of banana bread:)
*Sends little birdies with roses in their beaks floating across the chat
YUmmmmmm
Ci 6/21 please?
Film + Spanish cheer
STrange word...tyvm
Mmm, Rice Krispie treats. No chemicals in the mass produced cereal and sugar laden marshmallows.
Well, at least I am combining the chemicals:)
With crop spraying you cannot even get decent un-mutated veggies any longer, so it is all a crap-shoot.
You always do bring sunshine to the chog molly:)
I'm lovingly placing my comments on a string within my mind
Careful, you may hurt yourself...
Should that happen, I will turn to my beloved to assist me in my injury
cannot make a string of pearls with acid:)
Well said.
:)
TA 6/18 please?
ta + end of a flower that starts with gard
Some people just don't get it

Yaa!!!!
ooh, well done, car.
ty! Anyone need a clue before i go make dinner?
No. What's for dinner?
No, ty, car. I am only about half-way and must sweat it out a bit yet;)
not me m ty, car
: D : D : D
Hmm, halfway points...hmm...
Just chicken patty sandwiches. I am waaay overtired and I strained my back...but just a bit
I love the fact that this place archives everything that is posted here
enjoy it.
need to think about dinner as well. later.
Yup. Tis good reading sometimes;)
Amusing reading
just found a nice ti 7/32= to be crowed at a pageant perhaps.
interesting, never thought of that as a verb
Hi atain.
again :)
WB , Sukee:)
Crossy, I had to have my cat put down today.
I am so sorry, Sukee. it is a terrible thing to lose a cherished friend.
We had to do the same a few years ago with one of our kitties:(
But in a way I feel relieved, he didn't have much of a life especially in the past two weeks.
The doctor wanted to try more treatments and take more blood for maybe an extra 6 months.
When a beloved pets quality of life degrades to a point where he or she is not living life, then hard choices must be made, for the pets sake and not our own .
Exactly, I would only have been keeping him alive for my sake.
He had a good life, 17 1/2 years.
Then you did well.
I will miss him most at night because he used to sleep with me. But even that had changed.
There are always more cats stranded in shelters looking for the love you gave to the one you lost. He or she is at peace, and would feel proud to pass that love along to another in need.
I'll take a bit of a break, until I see one that I want :) I got Boo not long after I had lost my last cat, I hadn't intended to but he came my way.
There will come a time, and it is usually the right time, when the perfect cat ends up choosing you. One look and you will know when it is time.
Lots of cats need rescuing that is for sure.
LOL, Donald Trump was fired :)
Anyway, I'm sad but not too upset. I have been expecting it in the past month.
darn. he still owes me 10 bucks too!
lol
Besides, if he is running for President he should not have a weekly TV show.
You have to be kidding me... he is running for president?
Yep, he joined the clown bus.
That is partly why he got fired, he made some comments about Mexicans.
lol. reason #506 why I no longer do cable T.V
Anyway, still need 59 words in here.
I still need 64, myself
Thanks for you TI clue, I didn't even have the first part of that.
np:)
So, what is new with you?
Same ole same ole now my schooling is over. it is kind of sad, but the free time this summer will allow me to finish some writing.
At least I have something to look forward to this summer, my sister and brother in law will be visiting from BC at the end of July.
These past 2 days have made me fall behind in my writing, going to be doing a lot tomorrow and Canada Day.
I cannot wait to get back into my own writing now that reading for credits is done:)
What project you working on, Sukee?
It's the same job I have, I do blog writing for Minuteman Press, very easy and basic stuff. I do about 144 250 word pieces a month.
very nice. That is the type of gig that i am hunting for:)
Have done som copy editing, and some other small stuff, but nothing steady
I basically write about events happening in cities in Canada and the US where they have offices and add a few keywords.
some
I get paid a little under $5 for each, not the best but I can do 4 in an hour.
so 5 blogs/day?
on average?
It's with WordsofWorth.com if you want to check it out.
Yes, when I keep up :)
Think I will:)
I've been writing there for about 3 years now and they pay by paypal. They are based in the UK :)
I have submitted some stuff to Gotham Press in N.Y. but it is mostly to get my name out there. they are a subsidiary of Penguin.
oops, that should be Wordsofworth.co.uk. I didn't realize there was another one with the same name.
ahh i was wondering lol
There is a Canadian branch for words of worth:) I also put feelers out at elance.com
I gave up on those freelance sites.
Not much has come of them, and what does come pays dirt:(
Yes, hard to compete with people from Pakistan and India.
But, I know some people who have gotten good gigs. I just don't have the patience.
One guy had nothing but bullet notes and brainstorming and he wanted an etire book done on his ideas. Then i would have had to sign off on all of it--for a lousy $500.00. No thank you.
entire
Of course, they get what they pay for usually.
Anyway, I am going to make some tea and watch some baseball.
I will not spend 3-9 months of my life writing a polished novel for 500, only to sign off on it.
tc sukee. Nice chat
No way.
Hope I'll see you tomorrow morning.
I am sure you will:)
*looking around the empty room*...
Ooo, I C U!!!
I
I've been lurking around the empty room...
hi...
Hi, pen!

we're going to OOB for a week in late August
yes, it is taken from my favorite lobster shack....about 15 or 20 min. from where i live...
you can look up the place ... McLoon's Lobster Shack...
nice - I hope we get warm weather...
been a cool spring here on the coast, but a few nice days...
That is an unfortunate acronym
hi molly!
ah, harry...just noticed you are going to Old Orchard....hope you have a nice time.....
ty pen. any advice on good places to take 5 easily bored kids?
molly, it's been known as OOB as long as I can remember...
there is a Funtown place in Saco, I htink....that's always fun for kids....shouldn't be too far from OOB...
if you get a rainy day, there is a Children's Museum in Portland...
OOB still has carnival rides, I think....haven't been there in a long time...
thanks - we'll check them out. we'll try to do some hiking inland too. the beach might become tiresome.
the Desert of Maine is in Freeport....
and Bradbury Mountain State park is in Pownal....hiking there...
ty for the ideas. gotta run!
bye!
hi!
hi...
i jsut saw there are two ex words. now i understand why there was some hand wringing earlier.
does the 9 include a grid word?
Yes...two of them
ty champ
you mean that both of the words add the prefix to a grid word?
ex 9 starts with a grid word and ends with another...
the second builds on the first ex word...
TO, need a clue? It turns out to be a common word.
just hard to see
hi nrk! will you be here a bit? want to work a few
yeah, for a little bit... 14 words to go, but need to call mom soon
no worries... I have a very gentle clue ready when you ask
i need 11 and i need to get up at 5:45
clue away, i am too rushed ty
it's a criminal justice system word
that might not be that gentle of a clue

Jeanne ed 4
edit
oh, duh....duh...duh....LOL, well, at least my type of proofing doesn't allow me to do that...what's said is said; however, that was a very good clue and I just bombed!!! Thank you!
Thank you all. I learned a new word!
