I feel guilty, i was looking at rescue cats yesterday.
Why the guilt?
Well, it's only been less than 2 days since I put Boo down.
Love not shared is a terrible thing. Do not feel guilty--especially if it is a rescue kitty
I guess, there are a lot of them around 3 years old that seem to need adopted. Same age Boo was.
We have three rescued cats. All would be living unhappy caged lives if we did not open our homes and hearts to them.
Sadly, at age 1-3 is when people get tired of them. The cute kitten stage is done and many get dumped
then they go feral and breed unchecked. Our humane society here catches them and gives them shots and fixes them to break the sycle

I get the feeling it won't be too long until I'm living with another kitty. The longest I have gone in over 30 years without a cat is about 6 months.
I see no wrong in looking to rescue an amimal.
You have the equipment, you are used to cats, so why not?
I vowed I would get a black cat since they seem to have a hard time being adopted. But, I'll see which is the most needy and fits my lifestyle.
Sigh, this seems like another finicky grid.
I LOVE our two black cats. They are so loving and so smart!
But be warned, they love sharing your bed.

both our two black kitties are of the Bombay variety
short-haired, copper eyes, and their nails seem to grow slowly which is a plus. They shed, of course, but the fur is short enough that you do not have clumps of fur all over the place
So, nice and slick. I really don't want a cat with too much hair :)
Then these are perfect
Often , many humane societies give them away with all shots, fixed, and free of charge since there is still this stigma looming over the black cats. They always have too many of them.

In Tahoe .. I think they are a long way from Containing it.. this weekend is going to be a nightmare ..it's so dry here (4th year of drought)
we have a bad one to the south of us near Wenatchee, WA and some smaller ones near the border
northern Alberta and Saskatchewan have some bad ones too -- everything is so dry and there have been a few electrical storms with this heat wave we're having
Dang. We are waiting for a dry day so I can paint the trim on a new window and the garage door. Our weather is so weird; we've had 3 1/2 inches of rain in 3 bursts of rain (each less than an hour long) in 36 hours.
