Thanks Lickety
YAY lickety
hi Stid
nbt/nbs
hey all. almost to halfway...
past halfway, but no NBT yet. oh well, it's my time to sleep.
Hope your week is going well flosey and tor! I have been taking it easy in some ways and pushing pretty hard in others.... just learned I will have some more houseguests next month so have to do a bunch more cleaning and organizing in the next few weeks. *sigh* no rest for the wicked! *poof*
hello
hi Jane
finished
Hi all and congrats, Ru
ty
well done ru
hi Liz
Hi Flosey - hope you had a good day.
yay, ru! hi all! *continues to plod ever so slowly along* lol
dental appt took up most of morning including travel time to and from Victoria. other than that, has been a quiet, pleasant day, how about you, Liz
Very good thanks. Spent the morning with 2 breaching humpbacks - lots of photos but haven't checked them out yet because I needed to recharge my camera battery.
wow, interesting, Liz
We're very lucky - have 20000 humpbacks migrate past here over the course of a season. We're right in the middle of their migratory route and see them swimming in 2 directions.
they are beautiful creatures
We dove among them in Molokai Crater in Hawaii once
They certainly are - even though we go out most weeks in the season, I don't take them for granted and feel so lucky when we see them.
That must've been an amazing experience, Ru.
we get occasional sitings around here - sometimes from ferry to Vancouver - captain usually announces them
it was .. we were swimming with a baby whale and then mama came along and got in-between us
We saw the orcas from Victoria, Flosey.
oh I'd love to see orcas in the wild again
Mama whale is very protective. They calve around here too sometimes - have seen some very young whales.
There are 3 or 4 resident orca pods that swim off Victoria, Ru - next time you go up there you'll have to try to get out to see them.
great - did see some at terminal while waiting for the ferry once, don't usually see them come in so close to the harbour
Humpbacks are a success story - made a really good recovery after whaling stopped. Their numbers were down in the hundreds.
next time I go to BC.. I'm spending a week or so
There's a lot to see there. I love it.
hello everyone
me too.. such beautiful country
hi Nan
hi nan
Hi Nan
I hope I'll get back there sometime but it's a long way from here.
FWs
yay diz
congrats, Diz
ty....see you all tomorrow.xx
Have a good evening
Good evening, all.
hi Jade
FLOSEY!!!
was getting red boxes again tonight! left and it seems to have cleared
Very cool!
can be annoying when they persist - has been quite a while since having them. Have had to stop for a while until they clear
I understand...I get them myself. Usually best to wait it out.
yes
I need three more words for NBT, and then I can go to bed. But it's those last three that get me every time.
what letters do you need?
First row, P, third row A at the bottom, and far right row, M..
crashing -- 19 for tomorrow
good night everyone
NIght, nan!
good night Nan, 22 to go here, will try to finish tonight
pe4/6 and 5/14
those words could actually come from either P, not sure which
don't have that M yet
That's what I got when typing them in....
Just monkeyed the A
wtg
Why is spam not in dictionary?
perhaps a new word since Enable was written?
it is in my Oxford dictionary
"tinned meat"
it is a brand name I think
Thanks flossy..
Thanks flossy..
yes, I believe so, mrp
Thanks sorry spelt your name incorrectly flossy word spam in computer usage also
and hi again, hope this means you'll be around a little more
no problem freddie - have also been called that way
in factg, was going to use the name here but someone beat me to it - have never seen her here though
hi flosey :) glad to be back ! Yes I plan on being here around flip time
good to hear
you were one of the major players when I joined
Yes, was right into developing the game
Dr God was good to let lickety make such good changes too
thought so
and bless him, Lickety still gives us the clues
I'm really lost without his clues
yes he does... is part of the game for so many now. BJ used to do the clues and he would put a rudamentary list up, compared too lickety...
Must join as well... Thanks again Flosey
and BJ would also put the list up HOURS! after flip... didn't suit me at all! LOL!!
BJ (fellow from Ontario I believe?) he was just in for a while after I came
it was a big change, but done very slowly over time. Some babblers prefer to play without lickety, indeed without a list!
But majority rely on it as we found most players asked for the program
I'd be lost without the list - in fact, would likely give up
Dr God was so good to me! He gave me fireworks! and now we all enjoy it!
ah yes, most players call it out when they complete the grid
I remember saying (on the first grid I finished)... "what?? no fireworks!?... I want fireworks or something grand!" And he programed the fireworks to go off at the end! LOL it was brilliant
I cried :))
and now everyone finishing enjoys them
how are your children, mrp, they must be getting on??
Yep, still love seeing them go off! Is funny to be monkeying like an idiot and then see the screen go pop!!
it allows SP6 but not pedo
my kids are huges! I look up to them now!
Luke is 6 foot 5 now,, and maddi is just a little taller... I am now the shrimp in the family at 5 foot 11 LOL
wow, tall family! I was considered tall at 5' 9"!! and hated towering over most of my friends
yes, but as we grew up together, and became adults, they could wear high heals !
do you get asked to reach for things in the supermarket??
once in a while, not often - but I have shrunk - haven't measured recently but perhaps lost a couple of inches
I have completely been ignorning that F in the first column... and it has caught me out
when I was tall, I did wear 4" heels - hate to see these super high heels that are worn today
the heels now are dangerous!
not difficult words, mrp
yes and so slim
I can wear a high heel wedge
it is a balancing act but safer option :)
that's a little more support
I wore high heels once since coming on this island - never again
flats and slacks mostly - had to buy a dress to attend a wedding last summer
ah comfort... I agree
and got away with flat sandals
this grid needs an R
brb x
I'm down to 10 but eyes are drooping, will have to finish tomorrow
g'night all
clue for the m5/16 please
mo 5 american female parent & you and I = both of **
good morning all
{{hugs}} and good morning dearest sprite. are you still floating or have you settled gently back on earth?
*hugs rose* Good evening dear friend. No, I have landed 2 days ago, with a crash, lol. Was truly down yesterday. All part of the game, right? Feeling better today.
how was your day?
my poor sweetie. * gentle hugs* then
as predicted it was very cold. we both spent most of the day in front of the heater.
thanks lind :)
did it freeze?
just popped back to say hi and bye! off to dinner. see you all later (((rose)))
{{hugs}} mrp. how are you doing tonight?
bye mrp
not quite sprite. at least not near our home. but up in the mountains it snowed +++++
is bloody freezing here... bbs, grabbing dinner with a friend ;)
*giggles* I love the aussie definition of very cold!
Liz's email about aussie winter was hilarious
i know, honey. but one gets used to feeling warmth in the sunshine.
wasn't it?? i was giggling like crazy.
yeah of course, rose. The difference in temps is what makes us feel it so badly. It is the same here, actually. After days of 30+, even 18C feels cold.
too true, sprite.
oh sprite don had me in stitches today. we were discussing how lovely the fruit is at the moment.
and then don told me quite seriously, that the other day he found a mandy mouldarine in the fridge.
roflololllllll
i just stared, then realised what he meant
hilarious! And you asked him, how did he know mandy? From rhuby rotbarb?
and the later, he had been putting the wet washing through the drier. he came back with a glass of iced coffee in his hand.
he said, i found this in the laundry. i left it there to warm up. i collapsed.
lollllll he is so funny :D
phantom: idiot. Not necessarily inspired by Don.
* giggle * i know. i wanted it so badly. i stared at the screen for nearly two minutes before conceding that it wasn't there. so who's the idiot??
i also wanted idiom
guess we both are. I typed it in 3 times, so certain I was that I had typoed.
tr5 that too
tried. No R in the grid. Right.
ummmm no r's in grid.... make that no r tile in the grid. * eye roll *
yeah. Because there IS an R in grid. Lol, like that funny littly picture of the i in team!
exactly... loll
*giggles* Or this one: "There is no i in team. But there is a U in suck."
did you ever hear the joke about the elephant and a safeway ( big supermarket ) bag?
no?
how do you get an elephant in a safeway bag?
um.... no idea
you take the f out of safe, and the f out of way.
be careful how you type your answer
guess I am being very dumb. I don't get it.
there is no effing way
there's no effin' ( f in ) way
ohhhh right! Lol!
:)
g'day gemini. lolll
hi gemini
hi you two
you made me laugh!
good. my job here is done
in dutch, an elephant is een olifant... and oli sounds the same as olie, which is oil. So in dutch, the joke is how do you get an elephant into a fridge? Drain the oil, fold up the fant, put it in the fridge.
and then it continues: How do you put a pinguin in a fridge?
what are the stats for the 'p' in the first column please?
pe6/27 Marc, and hi
come on rose, guess :D
open the door?
open the fridge, take out the fant, put in the penguin, close the door
oh, okay. lollll
i forgot the fant....
now picture a huge jungle... and the king of the jungle is celebrating his birthday. All animals from all over the world are invited and they have all come... except one. Which animal is missing?
the penguin?
Thanks sprite
the penquin? he is in the fridge?
yvw Marc
gooood gemini! Yes, the penguin
yay gemini. i wish i ha said that. ;-P
:)
and by now the elephant has regained his health and wants to party with the king of the jungle. But to get to the party, he has to cross a lake filled with extremely dangerous crocodiles. What does he do?
ride the ferry?
nah, he just crosses it swimming. All crocodiles are already at the party.
you got me
*giggle*
*grins* Always a fun one at a party, this.
How can a lake be "filled with crocodiles", if there aren't any in the lake?
dinner ready. xoxox to you all. sprite, i hope you have a lovely day.
hiya Buggie. Well, in the mind of the elephant, he always has to crossy a crocodile-filled lake to get to the lion... so that is his mindset
Heya :) Yes, but it's the 3rd person, the omniscient narrator. So if you say it's filled with crocodiles, then they have to be there :P
lol, a babble typo. Crossy for cross, lol
Maybe saying a lake "known to be filled with crocodiles"?
yeah... or something like the elephant always has to cross a crocodile-infested lake...
I'm picky about details like that :)
nothing wrong with that
brb, potty break
back
back. cooee
hiya rose :) How was dinner?
fireflies
hmmm, yummy. steak with mushroom gravy, and three vegs.
sounds delish.
A big *hug* to rose, and sleep well, darling. And to you all, a blessed day and a peaceful night.
WTG SPRITE!!!! xoxox and extra hugs, sprite
Good morning all.
Good morning, everybody, Howdy, Sukee:)
Hi crossy. Happy Wednesday.
Ahh yes, hump day:)
Looks like a nice day here, no rain, less humidity.
Well, if 80% is less humidity :)
very nice day:)
Do you have any m's in the last column yet?
hello. Anybody still here?
Hi Ruby.
mo5/14 and mo5/16
hi, Sukee
and mo5/12
need clues? IT'S RARE FOR ME TO HAVE ANYTHING TO OFFER
((ruby))
Sure I'll take a clue :)
mo5/12 cash
But that one comes from the middle M
I have that.
mo5/14 something like Egyptian burial figures but leave out some letters
Ty, got those two :)
I mean , your clue gave them to me.
mo5/16 (ty somebody) American mother + you and I
{{crossy}}
Got it, ty :)
I'm still waiting to hear from my doctor regarding what will be the next step......
How are you feeling?
I still have intermittent pain and depression; wwaiting is a killer/////////////////////////
You wouldn't have the P in the first column would you?
whoops, leaned on keyboard, sorry
Sorry to hear that.
nope
Spam should definitely be accepted.
Usually if they make you wait with cancer, it is not that serous. When it is a big deal they rush you through. With my first cancer, I went from original diagnosis to operating table before the week was out. Having to wait can be a hopeful thing. My oncologist always said "when i make you wait, it means I am doing triage rules, and being dead last is a good thing in that case."
Thank you, Crossy, I am sure that you are helping me through this.
Doing my best, although my beloved says I am often shy on tact and sensitivity;)
I think you are wwonderful!
Well, you ARE male :) Just kidding.
But I was always one to attack cancer head on, to kick its ass and carry on. it is how I dealt with it all.
Lol, found the P I needed... obvious :) nbt.
That's how I was the first time, but I was blindsided by this one
hint for the p, pls, sukee
It was the passed tense of the pe 4/6
past tense that is
When you take a furtive look at something.
That is how it happens, right when you least expect anything to happen. it was that way with my 2nd. Right out of the blue and whammo! chemo for the better part of a year.
aaah, found it duh me
Exactly how I felt when I found it :)
at least with my first, I knew something was going on.
It would be a little easier if I felt better and could deal with husband's deterioration with more energy
I'm getting things organized, but it's very difficult
yes, that is a heavy burden for you at this time
I didn't think anything when I had breast cancer, but my mother said she had noticed I was getting sick a lot.
Mothers always know.
It was definitely a surprise, even after they found a lump I just thought it was scar tissue from a breast reduction and was shocked when they said cancer.
I though my first cancer was a leftover issue from getting fixed.
Well, time for me to go get ready to go out. Take care all and good luck.
time to warm up on those pedals
See you later, kids
a nice fast NBT for crossy:)
and NBS
good morning friends
It's Amazon Prime Day!
I have no idea what we are going to buy
i was hoping for a grid as big as yesterday's
is that a thing, bichon? or is it because you are good members or something?
were you around when we had the 600 word one?
I am trying to remember if I was or not tif
First column P?
I remember 744
took a sly glance at, past tense
have that one
mlf, were you the person that was discussing books the other day with crossy and I?
what about books .. in general or something specific?
something specific. someone gave me a book rec the other day, and for the life of me I can't remember which babbler it was, and it's KILLING ME
wasn't me and unfortunately again this AM I am half asleep lol
clearly I was as well.....I can't find the convo in the archives
trif that is really strange?
ooof - we are dog sitting a very cute little dog, but omg with the barking!
2nd column e?
its more just my complete lack of ability to remember what day it was, or what time of day it was
and first column p?
trif I do that a lot
Trif you should check the chog.. can't have you going nuts :D
i got the 2nd column e nm
kate trif did that cant find it
feod
freebie, sorry
ty kate
:) gotta run, see you tonight.
Was it the Elana Ferrante books that Harry recommended?
*Elena
found it!! it was harry hood....oh whew. everyone help me remember that please!
yes molly, thank you!
i also need stats for a 6 please ?
trif remember what?lol
I have a very funky ei6.21
basically, drop a mug on your keyboard and you might find it - seriously random letters
Ha! The ei word is a phantom, literally.
is that what that is? thanks molly
can we expand on that please?
I'm struggling with se6. help please.
gotta be honest - not so much enthusiasm for work today....the boy I am tutoring and I are reading To Kill a Mockingbird, which I ADORE, but a) his mother insists on sitting in the room the entire time I tutor and b) the student needs me to read it aloud.
I have a se6.24, is that the one?
big water bottle needed
Yes, Trifioso. It's eluding me.
to kill a mocking bird is such a great story
its more the language of the book, hurshy...I have taken to substituting "the n word" when I read, which is probably pretty lame
ah
I am abysmal at cluing, jes, but I will try my best- leaked slowly, past tense
trif its from that time period kind of cant avoid it
d'oh... not sure how I missed that. Thanks
you could pick another word and tell him, "when i say this, it means this" like "homie"
but there are smaller brothers and sisters running about as well, and I get embarrassed
ty for the se 6
its okay jes. I myself NEVER remember to add the s to the end
first column P anybody?
hint for the se 6, pls
I think my eyes were looking down at the "e" under the "s" instead of to the left of it and I just ignored that corner "e"
bichpn look at chat
same word as the se 6, just change the first letter
nbs
Ididn't understand the clue
trif it is the same word that bichon asking for
brb...have to charge cattle prod to wake up secondo
past tense of se 4/5
the se 6 and the pe6 are the exact same, except for the first letter. one is the past tense of slow leak, the other is the past tense of took a teeny look at
ty fan
yw bichon
ty Trif
bichon do you have the P in the first column?
P in first column...past tense of Easter chick candy
duh ty molly
nbt and nbs
back from the crypt....whoo, managed to escape unscathed! that girl can SLEEP
pedo
damn, sorry
What is that? A sp6 for babies?
i owied my thumb yesterday, right on the bone where it joins the hand, hit it on the car trunk hatch. it hurteth.
I don't think a sp6 would work over a diaper.
oh dear hurshy! I am so sorry to hear that
lol molly
Ow Hursh, that hurts just thinking about it.
*looks for sp6*
hurshy now you can only babble at half speed!
hmm well that's ok
gm, everyone, clue for the ei6?
use the ending from a venetian boat
Name the government agency [under Homeland]
its a WEIRD one lbd....phonetically, I image it sound like that guy who used to run iran
doma?
fema
ty, hursh!
(((scarlet))))
ding ding ding, Bea wins the prize [to be determined]
oh you guys - any jeopardy fans in the house?
ME!
Yup
i like the game, i hate the host
I about split a gut laughing - the final question was "This is a famous Jewish hymn, a famous Christian hymn, and is now a famous Broadway musical." The answer was "Rock of Ages" but the champ wrote "Kinky Boots"
oh yeah i heard that someone wrote that
No one really is crazy about Alex, but he does his job well
he later admitted that in the moment that the name of every single broadway musical ever flew from his head, and that is the ONLY one he could think of. I was ROLLING
if you call being smug, condescending, and occasionally a jerk to the kid contestants doing your job well
just the image - in synagogues and parishes world wide... a staid worship leader, calling the congregation to stand and sing "kinky boots"
so but, rock of ages is three different things by the same name, right?
yes hurshy
like how mitten is a hand warmer but also my cat
i have 3 grey mittens altogether :)
exactly. "Rock of Ages" is a Jewish hymn, a Christian hymn, and the name of a Broadway musical
ooooh, one more word and I have the left column grey
got it! FEAR ME
Yaa for trif!
crossy, so much for my budgeting plan...went to the bookstore yesterday :)
You cannot be blamed. Bookstores are my bane as well.
What did you get?
I really MUST learn to only carry cash in there
what did I get? Everything I could lay my hands on....haha
lol. I go into our local used book store with exactly 5 dollars cash. When it is gone then I am done for the day:)
four copies of adult coloring books I am giving as gifts, an art book for secondo, a day planner, and a copy of the Martian, as I had to give Tristan his back.
tadone!! finito! some tricky words to find, but fun grid.
am 5/14, pls
I tried to talk Valentine into buying something as well, but he would not be swayed.
to entertain, bichon
Would you like a digital copy of that , trif?
I am not am5'd at bigotry
ty Bea
He wanted a book about sports, which I NEVER have. I wasn't even sure where the sports section was...and then it became obvious - I went to the part of the store I had never, ever been to before, and voila - sports!
yw
no thank you, crossy, I am good with the hard copy
cool:)
one of the benefits of belonging to the teachers' union in Massachusetts is that we get an educators discount of 25% at all times.
EASILY the benefit I use most
sadly, I get no discount and new softcovers are running about 14 dollars, so it is the used book stores for me.
14 + tax that is
I am quite good at the library
LOVE my library:)
I am OBSESSED with coloring mandalas this summer....work on one a day
However, I have enough digital material to see this year out comfortably.
A hobby is a good thing:)
technically I suppose I do as well, if I read all of the books contained in the ...oh darn, whats the word for volumes that contain six or seven whole books in them?
anthologies?
Box sets.....good morning
had to google a mandalas:)
anyway - I have a bunch of those I bought when I first got my kindle
NOOK
I love my kindle
I really should NOT have given up coffee, geez louise
good morning river!!!!
I love my Nook HD
have a first gen Nook as well. 4 years old or more and works great still.
I adore my nook as well
I bought the Kindle Fire HDX last year to bring to Ireland ......I do everything on it now - email, facebook, babble, games and most especially books

Thouhg my first gen Nook is all button for the page turns and one is worn out. it was the model that had that 2 inch touch screen on the bottom and e-ink above
((MRP)))
(((crossy))) !
25 left for later - must get to work - have a great day everyone
I only a few words left... so might just bug you for them
see ya river :)
tc Riverdance
quick question - what is the etiquette for plants that are growing in abandoned lots? like, REALLY abandoned - boarded up window, glass in the parking lot, etc. Do you think it would be the biggest deal for me to liberate a couple of plants from there?
and just monkeyed the ei6
I do not see why not.
No, trif.
what are the flora laws trif? if it is like here, don't do it!!
Any land deamed "abandoned" is commonwealth land and no plants can be taken
I am not sure, mrp . I know I couldn't walk up and take the front door of the building, but surely a few stray, but adorable, plants in the front yard is ok?
that is on our aussie soil anyway
oh geez, mr p!
they aren't in garden beds or anything - they are growing in cracks in the pavement
here, we can take one, for personal use, except for protected plants and flowers such as the trillium and there are several species of ferns in our are that are off limits
I think to be safe, do it in the darkness of night
brb - have to drive secondo to work....being down to one car again BLOWS
I think if it is growing though cracks in asphalt that she is ok lol.
well then she could be seen to be procuring crack plants! LOL
does not sound like the pants are being cherished in any way in their current locale
lol!
you are taking over ruru's job, mrp:)
oh I am not that bloody funny!
now he cracks me up!

A one-L L*** is a priest, a two-L Ll*** is a beast. And I'll bet you my pajama, that there is no three-L Lll***. Ogden Nash
I recited that in Peru, much to the amusement of the other tourists.

morning
rururocks.. 4 letters
hi jess
how goes the battle?
well.. it's been busier than usual for July .. normally a slow month in wine sales
*Checks all 70 of the 4 letter words for swimming mammal
busy is good, right?
busy is great
all the four letter words I know don't relate to swimming mammals :D
well -- what was it then???
well, according to some particularly eccentric folks who'd like to be taken seriously as scientists... humans were descended from swimming ap4/5
the swimming animal word can be used another way
such as?
mm.. to se4 a letter?
oops
yep it is there
It's suddenly 100% obvious.....
lol
hehe. I already got that one and totally didn't notice. Thanks :)
Thinks of seals as pinnepeds

Sometimes the jokes just don't go over
story of my life
That going to be the title of your autobiography?
mine is going to be called "The last Laugh"
ah. So 'sometimes the jokes just don't go over' will be the subtitle?
after my ashes are spread in a pasture
*waiting*
Manure going to be waiting for a long time
*watches Ru wait*
Dropping in to say hi all! Hi Ruru and Jes!!
hi MYM
hi mymuseisme, how goes?
Last I read Ru you were happy with sale of your house. Have you found a new one yet that you'd like?
Enjoying my day off Jes and you?
my phantom is seldom
ooooh I'm in the grid -- :)
also having a day off - it's nice!
no.. haven't found one yet Mymuse
There's one that will be coming on the market that my agent says has what I want
Skies are still overcast here, raining off and on -- not my weather for walking.
seldom is a great phantom in this grid
so is female
yep that one too! Well it's good that the agent is narrowing down options to what you want. I have never owned a house, though it used to be one of my dreams.
yes.. after rejecting about 40 houses he's shown me
i'm finally in a position in life to downsize and have what I want
hey all, just sitting for a few minutes... any help for the M on the far right? it's my last blank.
Hmmm … not sure if that is waste of time or if that helps you realize what you want.
STIDDY! How are you?
Good for you, ruru -- stand firm! I compromised a bit on the house when it was being built (but we had a major time crunch), and wish I had been more assertive on a few things.
I am well muse -- you?
idiot is a major phantom for me today. Must have tried it at least twenty times since flip...
Doing well also. Glad you are in your own place now. Did you enjoy the grade you taught this year?
sorry Stid - don't have yet
morning, stid :)
Really enjoyed third grade, glad I get a chance to try it again this coming year. I had an opportunity to stay in my new district but apply for the same sort of position I had at the last district, but decided to stay in one place for a while. I loved middle school... but I also enjoy the younger children. And it's nice to be where I am actually "wanted" for a change.
good morning miss day off ;-)
Not really a waste of time seeing what you get for what i am willing to spend
I like the baby raccoon pic. :-)
That's awesome Stid! I loved most of the grades though each had its challenges with curriculum and behaviors.
Granddaughters both starting third grad. One was in Catholic school and now going to public. The other is in a Montessori school
Thanks; they've gotten bigger now, moved to the outside pens, and about 4 pounds each.
Exactly, muse -- the key for me is to remember that the kids who act out the most need the most love. Not "sweetness and light" love, but clear limits and many celebrations of who they are. Seems to work with most kids. :-D
Still cute though!
And I found I learned so much from the children themselves.
Exactly, muse! For example, did you know that goats make good playmates? One of my kiddos had goats this past year.
It will be interesting for your grands bichon -- third grade is such a great time because all of a sudden the brain expands and you start to notice things and have questions you never did before.
I love goats. Have a 7 week old right now that needed surgery on her leg. She's a crackup.
Chuckling … that's awesome! Hard to keep a goat in an apartment ;)
LOL poor thing -- hope she'll recover, jes?
she's mostly housebroken, mymuse
I like goats, but I don't like how they smell. I can always tell a kid who lives with goats...
yeah, surgery was over a month ago now, she's running around like a little terror
you in the market for a dog yet, stid?
good for her, jes!
Jes! That's amazing what you are doing. Love animals but city would not let me foster those.
oh oh timetogowillyoulookatthe clock....
dog?
what are you looking at?
30#, 9 year old, neutered boston terrier
And yes, I am getting there. But with no fence still (have to spend any yard money that is left on taking down some trees...) I _ boston terrier? *faint*
aren't those the yippy, mean ankle-biter types?
no, they're the blocky, flat-faced (but not as smashed as pugs) black ones with the white collar
oh, I was thinking of a different terrier. Bostons are pretty. 9 seems a bit old for a terrier, though. *thinking*
what are his issues?
http://www.animalplanet.com/breed-sele\nctor/dog-breeds/non-sporting/boston-te\nrrier.html
removed some dermal masses, all came back as benign. Released because of money issues.
I would have to be away at school an awful lot, jes. Would he be okay left alone all day -- sometimes (but rarely) 12 or 14 hours?
Let me think about this. The other day Murphy (mother's dog) found some scraps of fabric that had Lucky hairs still on them (a box that had been in the storage locker). He grabbed them and wouldn't let go. When I visited yesterday he brought me the scraps and wanted to share them with me. He still mourns. :-(
awww, that's sweet and sad both - does he have any other dogs to play with?
He plays with some when he goes on walks, but no he doesn't currently have any "cousins" or friends who visit.
I think he would be okay, but honestly have not left him alone in my house. he came from an apartment with multiple kids.
and the prior owner didn't say anything about being destructive
Well, that's something anyway! *mental note: good with kids*
I'll talk to Tom. How much in arrears is the owner?
meaning -- if I could offset the cost could he go home?
oh, she didn't pay anything, said she had no money, and released him straight out. he's had other health issues in the past (ear infections, diarrhea/vomiting) that she declined to bring him in for because of money.
she doesn't actually owe anything, but clearly can't afford to have a dog.
I did offer to do a matching funds thing, but she said she couldn't pay any at all.
I see. That's too bad. Okay, no dietary issues (that would be a new one for us!) so food wouldn't be as expensive, but an older dog so possibly more health care costs. Let me talk with Tom. I really do want a critter again. And I would love to have an excuse to drive out your way again. The only time I really turn off my teaching brain is when I am driving. I could use the break!
actually, I'll be over in Skagit for a week the end of this month, so could make a much shorter trip for you to meet him.
Or you could come all the way over and visit, that'd be fine too :)
Okay, let me talk with Tom. It's my rehearsal night, so won't see him until quite late.
no rush, and no pressure - if it's not the right time, i'm sure i'll have another in a while :)
will pop in later .. have a great day everyone :)
((((muse)))) have a wonderful day/week!
bye, mymuse
And I really should go for a bit anyway -- need to practice one more time (one of the pieces is really hard for me) and pack my sticks and music for tonight. I'll be back in about half an hour. :-) thanks, jes for the info! *temporary poof*
have fun, stid!

one of these days I'll learn to monkey more. sometimes I don't even try because my head thinks it can't be a word. ;)
Usually, it's just your smart brain trying to figure out words.

Well GEEZE. Here I was, beginning to think of quitting, and I just realized it's the old list in lickety because I never shut my computer down last night! No WONDER I couldn't find any of the words! I finally caught on when I started looking for a ca7/36.
