Hi Flosey
i'm sorry to hear that Sue. Best to both Frank and to you.
ty for LE8, cos
i'm finding some weird W words today.
le8 - just monkeyed it!
*waits for DC to find the wi7*
thanks ru, found it
Having grown up in a region that had no fewer than 5 wig shops, that's not a state to which i am accustomed. :) Thx for that, ru
you'll never have to worry about it Dc.. you have great hair
Thanks, dc.
we'll see whether the hair holds :)
just spilled water on keyboard - didn't seem to do any damage
dumb twit!!
A little spritzing up flosey?
lol, I guess there's nothing there to damage?
remember son told me about a friend of his who put his keyboard in the dishwasher!!! can't imagine it getting that dirty
When i do it. It just washes out the coolie crumbs
cookie?
uusue, I am so sorry that Frank is getting sicker. Holding you both in the light of love and peace.
hi Bugsy
hi flosey. Did you get some rain this weekend? We got a few drops but not enough to stop anything or help much.
yes we did, not as much as is needed for the gardens but much appreciated
true, our forests need a good soaking
we need SO much more to even get to the roots of the plants
true
I have found so many of the odd words just by monkeying tonight
that is a helpful clue in itself flosey, thanks
finally got the un7, really!! how does one do that
finally monkeyed no6!! and that's fw
I always use Lickety's list, wouldn't get very far without it
well done flosey. Did you have to use the list tonight?
yes, Bugsey, always use it
I wont use it until I at least half way and stuck. Most often I work until I am stuck and then call it a night. The next day I can see so many more.
it would take more time than I'm prepared to give, without the list
good point. I don't play every day, especially when I am busy
I do play most days, unless away from here without access
you are still much quicker than I to find words. Have a good day tomorrow
thanks, and you
can I offer any clues?
something to help with the un word please.
it doesn't sound like good english, not open
how does one do that?
thanks, now your earlier clue makes sense.
or, perhaps as not near?
I must get to bed, nice chatting
good nite. I have 23 left for tomorrow which is a busy one for me
oh the charming cu4 word is in the grid... hate to even type it
mrp.... i take it you've not seen the vagina monologues?
hi rolin! Oh no... listening to that would makes my teeth grind
and hi rolin! nice to see you
and you... i was like that til i saw the show... im cool with the word now...
ah so it softens the crassness of it... ?
it just logically presents the idea of ownership... how a word has been misappropriated... just another part of a woman being used to denegrate
its like when the phrase....you're such a girl.. is used... that really infuriates me
if someone called me a cu4, I would deck them!
i'll remember that...lol
i am actually going to need clues
g'day mrp. how are you dear? may ihelp?
hi rose (hugs)... doing good thanks!
ah just missing some fish I am sure...
how you going??
I will ask for a few clues if that is ok
np's honey
i am missing the lo5, first one
lo + vowel + double consonant

WTG MRPRESIDENT!!!!!
thank you :)
i went and saw my lawyer's orthopod today.
how did that all go?
he thinks my perineal nerve has been badly damaged. he wants me to have a neurological work-up and a nerve study done.
oh hunny... hope you don't suffer too much
it should be interesting experience.....
and workcover have already sent back their approval for denervation of the nerve. * sigh *
I tend to think that it is an experiment more than anything... just be prepared for anything I guess :)
me too, mrp. i need to talk to my pain doc. and quickly
yes, make an appointment quick
how are the kids?
kids are good thanks. never a dull moment!
senior school is a battlefield
lollll, more like a minefield.
well Luke is here with his math tutor at the moment... he has an exam on friday and needs help
and Maddie is putting in major works for year 12, so lots of study!
I just need to keep the atmosphere calm and feed them, works well :)
you can have it all. been there, done that, got the t-shirt. wore it out!!
ha! I wish it was easier!
just lay in heaps of stores of whatever snacks they are allowed to have.
I am cooking dinner now... and sent Maddie out to get snacks
bbs, need to sort the salad :))

thanks for both, zooz
thanks zoom
Welcome :-)

Congrats, Sandr! I take it you now have fireworks..lol
Ha that answered that question..lol

always good company, babble when you are sick. I hope you will feel better soon, sandr
Sorry you are not well but glad you had babble to keep you going!
its a bit of a cold, its put me out of action since saturday evening just really want to sleep all the time

Agreed sleep and fluids.

exactly
Try and eat some chicken soup too.
see you later guys and gals
sprite-- yesterday i found a new word for your dictionary. "to have thought logically while on the beach" resunned
Sweet deep sleep, Sandr :-)
I like it, putting it in, Jayk
there :) Thanks for the contribution!
I would love to be resunned. If only i could find the sun here..lol
Good morning all.
Hello, Sukee. How are your new additions to the family?
we had a beastly storm here day before yesterday, and now the weather is positively autumny, lol.
hi sukee!
Yes we have had rain rain winds more winds. And today it is blustery and cloudy.
Doing good, got kicked out of the bedroom last night :)
I also found an old tea bag on the bathroom floor :)
Oh dear going for your feet and knocking things over were they..lol
hehehe they are feeling right at home
I forgot one of these cats can jump up on counters.
It was the feet especially.
I got so used to a cat who did not jump up that high.
Don,t be fooled. All cats can jump so much higher than we think they can jump.
But, they both just came for cuddles after eating.
you're forgiven then, grin
cooee and g'day friends.
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend :)
Hello, ((Rose))
how was your day?
I put out a couple of boxes for them and at least one was sleeping in one yesterday. I have to get something like a laser pointer to tire these guys out.
Teehee good idea!
{{hugs}} sprite. had my visit with the lawyer's orthopod. he was just lovely. he thinks that my perineal nerve has been damaged and wants me to have neurological exam and nerve conduction studies done.
I feel so much better having a cat (cats) back in my apartment.
hello zooz. g'day sukee
Hi Rose
oh, I had those for my feet. I think it is a great idea, rose.
oh I believe it, sukee. A home without pets can be so empty
and would you believe it? i received the letter from workcover approving the funds for the nerve denervation. so now i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.
first get the examination done, then progress, I think
my thoughts too. i want to know exactly which flipping nerve is giving me all this trouble.
yes, the examination will give you a lot more information and that can only be good for further treatment. Plus the neurologist can give you his/her take on denervation or other option.
oh that too. i hadn't thought of that.
I think neorologists have a lot of nerve.
haha ruru. hello mate
always good to have around when in a pinch
and hiya ru
They seem to take things out of cortex.
lol
*groan*
yeah you nerver know
*double groan*
Ha!
good morning (or whatever|). I've sent Burt to daycare again; we'll see how long he lasts this time
hiya ruby, good for you! As they say in dutch, the one insisting will win
good morning dear ruby. good for you!!
((Ruby))
or what sprite said
Hello, Ruru :-)
Hi mr. Z
Ruru, I am guaranteed to at least laugh out loud when you are in the chat log with your sense of humour!
We just had a play round with leaping and jumping after a toy, now we are all tired out :)
Hi Ruru
Good morning, everybody:)
hiya crossy :) *hugs*
Hi crossy
who is tired, Sukee, you or the cats..lol
Hello, Crossy :-)
they all are :)
All of us :) They are both stretched out on the floor.
Cats wear me out too.
Sprite have you heard of a dutch singer called 'Racoon'?
Tobey won't jump up on the windowsill but he can sure jump high after a toy.
they will be rested long before you
Aww that is weet, Sukee.
I know, I know.
Once you adjust to their schedule, sukee, things will be fine;)
I thought it was a band, zooz
http://tinyurl.com/o23u4mc
this is one of their songs.
Oh you could well be right, Sprite.
nice sound, zooz
Yes I think it is a very nice song too :-)
I bet your daughter could sing it just as good too :-)
oh yes, indeed! I'll send her the link too, see if she likes it.
If she does sing it and puts it on YT let me know.Would like to hear how it turns out.
I think I have killed the chat log. Will try and get my last few words.
will sure do so :)
thanks for thinking of her
and no, you didn't kill the chog at all. Rose is probably chasing a squirrel, sukee some cats, ru a pun and crossy is making his love some tea.
i must say ttfn my friends. i still have some paperwork to do for the occ. rehab. bloke tomorrow. * sigh * it would be such a help if my brain would stop shutting off.
I am actually looking for words :)
LOL you are so funny ((Sprite))
Crossy is back. Had to go feed the kitties and put the kettle on:)
((Rose))
pfft, sprite. wanna swap. you do the paperwork.
I have learned, I have to feed the cats as soon as I get up :)
tc ((rose))
your brain is shutting off because it is too much for you, rose. It is a signal that you are overly stressed again. *hugs* Love ya. Take care there.
Your training is going well then, sukee:)
*grin*
Any stats for that U?
all I can say is, rose, I have been there too. It is a rotten place to be. Hold on, things will calm down in time.
xoxox. thanx sweetie. hope you all have a wonderful day/night. * pick the right answer*
oh here, Crossy, *passes cup through screen to crossy* one sugar please and a dash of milk full fat non of this semi-skimmed rubbish.
We have one cat that can tell within 2 moniutes either way when it is time for me to give them dinner
un7/36
minutes
All of them, Rose, LOl
ty
* poof * xoxox
I have some nice half-and half for you zooz:)
I do not keep skimmed milk in the house. Life is too short to be swilling that crap
*Clink* cheers!
One cat, Damon, has claimed the window in my bedroom, he likes to sit up there and look out.
Agreed. Might as well drink water.
aw that is sweet
They will both end up with their favorite spots:) You bed is just one of them:)
The other won't or can't jump that high, they are quite high and he is quite small.
The cats around here do the same, Sukee, in about six of the houses around here all have cats in the top window looking out..lol
get them on of those kitty jungle gyms
then he can climb up
They say the cats are 1 year old but the guy at the store where I picked them up thought they might be younger, I may agree.
Yes, I need to get something.
They came from the Humane Society but they spread their cats out all over the city.
Ours foster out cats as well
sprite, Do you have the le8?
Yes, that too.
yes I do. start with a name and end with male child
I thought of fostering but you need a vehicle.
And of all time for this, I don't have a working camera.
Fostering is great but you have to have a strong heat to let go every month or so
Oh yes! there it is.Thanks, Spritey!
heart
Or, like a friend of mine, have other cats that live there permanently.
yvw zooz :)
She fosters kittens.
lewisson
oops sorry!
Ty though :)
I should of just waited for crossy to clue it.
that is it :D
yeah crossy's clues are so clear!
damn:(
:-)
fireflies. A big *hug* for you all, and have a lovely day and night all.
Get in that PB room boy!
I blame it on the lack of tea... brb
Congrats, sprite!
Taking a day off today from the gym just to get the cats more used to me :) Not ready to leave them alone in the apartment for almost 4 hours yet. By Wednesday it should be okay.
Take care sprite.
Have a greatd day, Spritey!
I think you are getting enough exercise with the cats to not need the gym for one time :-)
help with the le8 pls

Clued at 06:04am peri :-)
Sorry, Crossy, Coud not resist..lol

Hello, Une :-)

LOL
Love it, Hurshy!
haha are you kidding me, Peri!
the ultimate multitasking farm animal!
I just saw crossy's post
Happy Birthday Hurshy!
Teehee!
Yaa for Hurshy!!
Happy Birthday, Hurshy. It is my god daughter's birthday today as well.
OH!... Happy Birthday, Hurshy!!
oh thanks scrabbler
your birthday? have a happy one!!
Happy Birthday!
BRB
Zooz; :P
Same birthdate as another friend, Hurshy, so that is how I remember.
sadly i am not really able to celebrate this year, in frantic moving prep mode, moving weds
It is still humid here, just emptied the cat box and I'm sweating buckets.
Happy Birthday to You...Happy Birthday to You...Haaappppyy Biirrrthdaayy dear HURSHY..Happy Birthday tooo Yooouuuuu!
Well, be grateful for another birthday. No need for a big celebration.
Oh yes how is the packing going, Hurshy?
it's going. it's more the fixings of things around the house that are a pain.
Yes I can understand it is a nightmare trying to get everything done in a short space of time.Hope it all goes well for you though.
Moving is hard.
could i get a U clue?
UN+ not open
I am not moving for a while, possibly 2 years, but I just got rid of a bunch of junk that has been hanging around the house, old computers, a chewed chair, old microwave, etc. Feels great to unclutter like that.
Just called some guys and they came within 3 hours and did all the work :) I didn't cost that much either.
thanks
It would take me 2 years to unclutter...
Welcome :-)
Happy Birthday Hursh. Hope you get a chance to take a break from the packing and celebrate yourself.
Hello, Molly :-)
Hi Zoom
Me too, Crossy.
so you know how a lot of adults became sick of the song "let it go" because their kids watched/listened to it so much? well my niece sang it (shouted it) all the time before i ever saw frozen. but then since i've seen it, i just love it. it like, brings tears to my eyes when i listen to it.
Ty for the U clue, just could not see it.
That is sweet, Hurshy :-)
I haven't seen the movie.
it's really good scrabbler
I watched despicable me on TV the other day and nearly cried at the end..how sad am I..lol
I read a children's book, well, my friend's daughter showed it to me so I learned who the characters are.
*the Frozen book is what I mean
He got home at 12:45, to that's iyt for the day care!!
Oh dear ((Ruby)) sorry to hear that.
well it will be interesting to see how i hold up today. didn't get much sleep, i guess i'm just having too much moving-adrenaline
I was still reading to my son after hw already knew how (it was a nice moment before sleep time) AND WHEN WE READ cHARLOTTE'SS wEB, I WAS CRYING SO HARD AT THE END, THAT HE READ IT TO ME.
Maybe try and get some power naps in, Hurshy. That might help.
Sorry about the caps but HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HURSHJY in caps anyway
Taking a break, time for breakfast.
lol thanks ruby
Cute story RUby.
my I have the stats for the 8, pls?
LE 8/60
so i got the un7 from the clue, can someone tell me about the other 7's?
HA 7/32 get strapped in?
thanks
nice clue, ty
Wi7 could wear a toupee but have non??
lol thanks
:-)
cute
Hi ruby, hurshy, zooz
Ty for those clues
Hello, Bichon :-)
hi Scrabs
ha 7/32, sorry, didn't understand the clue
Ruby, any chance you can still keep giving the day care a try? Maybe it will take him a week or so to acclimate.
a horse wears a ha7
ty hurshy
and it makes me cry when Matthew Cuthbert is dying and says he'd rather drop in ha7...
no, they won't accept him a third time
Well that is unfortunate. It usually takes elders a while to get used to that kind of situation.
We took him there once for le***ing ther place and twice for lunch, but it was worse this time than the last.
and no9w that he's home, all he can say is that I don't love him any more. He takes no responsibility
I agree, Molly. They should be understanding of his problems and realize it will take time for him to settle into a routine.
I've explained that if I have to be admitted to the hospital, even over night, it would be a good place to ave available.
But Ruby, if you have to be in the hospital, he will need round the clock care.
They can't devote their whole time to one recalcitrant patient. It's a really nice, attractive placer and right in our village
Yes, I know that
I'm sorry you have all this to be concerned about on top of your health issues. It's too much for one person.
I'm trying to get his daughter to come, but her broken toee prevents it!
ruby dont mean to sound cruel, but he needs to be in a nursing home.he is too much for you to handle at this time
It's going to take the police or something to get him out of here
if his daughter is against it. let her take care of him. my brother had to make that decision with my mother.. she was getting to hard to take care of.she hates it but she is there
Ruby it is better that you make decisions about his care now, while you can. If you get too sick to do that it will be up to people who don't know and love him.
all i heard was how hard it ws to take care of her. and i didnt do enuff.. kept telling them to place her in home.. they finally did.. course i am the bad daughter but hey i can live with it
The physical reality of moving him from one place to another is, in itself overwhelming. It's not like I feel guilty or anythingh
Well, generally you decide on a care place and they assist in making the transition. And the move doesn't have to happen all at once.
His daughter likes to visit, but I think it's because 1) I pay for the ticket and 2) she enjoys hanging out with me. I'm not sure she cares about her father
Ivesy, you are not the bad daughter. That is a hard decision to make, but the time comes when it is time to make it. You did what was best for your Mom.
Molly, that was the idea of having him go there for two afternoons (plus lunch); it's the same place, but a different section. And it's lovely, set on top of a local mountain with a splendid view of the lake, etc.
Ruby if that is the case with his daughter, I think waiting around for her to come and make decisions is not the best idea.
No, but she is big and strong and could take some of the physical burden off me
I see Ruby. But once you have placed him in a full time nursing facility, they can't send him home.
i thought so molly. but all i heard was i didnt go see her enuf...blah blah blah.. like that was going to change anything...they dont know how she was to me growin up.. i dont forget that.. i sound cruel but my mother was very mean to me , and later to me and my son when we were struggling..
molly is right ruby. u start the process. then they take it from there..and they cant say they wont keep him
I think I'll call his gp today and start the process that way since my "easy" way was a flop
That is a good idea Ruby. It always feels good to take a "step in the direction of".
((Ruby)) I tink you are making the right choice in doing so.
wonderful ruby!! you take care of you..
Think*
Ivesy, I'm sorry to hear about the relationship between you and your Mom. That kind of thing leaves it's mark on you long after it is over.
thank you all for your support and for listening to my endless whining. I just want to be well again, even if I have to take the meds forever. At leastmaybe there's a forever!
ty molly.. it does... some people just dont get it..but i survive !! off to get ready for work.. and as ruby says thanks for listening to me whine...
I'm sorry about your relationship with your mother, Ivesy. Burt was crippled by his passive-aggressive mother. I guess that's why he's been married so many times.
No no Ivesy, I'm the "WHINE QUEEN"
I am more than happy to listen to problems babblers have.I have vented mine enough times too :-)
Girls, girls, there is room for two of you. : D Ruby, passive aggressive people are master manipulators. It often takes a great deal of therapy to get over a relationship with one of them.
LOL
AND HE'S NEVER HAD ANY THERAPY BUT HAS CERTAINLY LEARNED THE P-A TECHNIQUES!
To the first part, Molly :-)
Wow Ruby, you probably didn't know it at the time, but you got a lot of emotional baggage with him when you married him, huh?
un 7/36, pls

Hi Judi, hi all.
My new cats are my avatar now.
Congrats on your new cats, sukee!
... a genius, Molly?
TY :) They are so cute. I had them watching videos earlier :)
go blue jays! and beautiful cats!
I'm going to have to run out and get a new camera, or finally get a cell phone.
Hi All
Yes, sukee. The world can always use more cat videos.
Hiya, Hego!
It was cute, the grey one, Damon, had his two little paws on my laptop nicely watching a video of birds, until he jumped :)
You have to excuse me, I'm just like a new parent.
Yes, you are. lol
Kitties are the cutest.
These guys are a year old. Just out of the kitten stage. More like pre-teens :)
Oh, they are still kittens.
still cute
They certainly act like it :)
Another wasted Q. Tsk tsk.
They are not going to be very big cats which is good. Between the two of them they weigh less than my last cat.
all those points for naught.
Anyone have a clue for the 8?
le8...explorer Clark's partner + male child
It's the male child of the word before
Sounds crazy, but it's true.
Thank you. Oy.
Oy vay!
That too.
thanks Molly

Have a good day, all! *POOF*
... phantom ... very rude Quebecois word that you would never say anywhere around your mother in the grid ... ... but the dictionary won't accept it ... darn
i saw that too, doseffing. It's really no worse than many of the words the dictionary already accepts. :)
... well I might let a "merde" slip around my grandmother but I'd never let the c-word go ...
i learnt SO many vulgar things from my mother, her mother, and her mother.
So my inhibitions about such language are lower than average.
... yeah but I'm absolutely pur laine french catholic on my mother's mother's side ... I'd never get out of purgatory ...
LOL
i went to a Catholic funeral mass last week. It was fascinating and utterly weird. I viewed the mass rather analytically.
You forgot medieval.
well, i've been to a lot of Anglican Catholic/high church Episcopal, which is 16th century. The Roman Catholic liturgy has evolved more than the Anglican one. The Roman one creeps me out. The Anglican one does not.
... got raised on my father's side ... middle church Anglicans (i.e. Episcopalian) ... lived in a Catholic college at university (it was least expensive) ... except that the Catholics were asking for blessings on the pope and the college of cardinals instead of the queen and the royal family and they burned more incence ... didn't notice that much of a difference ... I could follow right along ... married a Catholic ... there are relatives from my father's parent's generation who are gonna be pleased to watch me burn in hell
The waving of incense burners creeps a lot of people out.
It scared the heck out of my Jewish husband.
i was raised w/out church at the intersection of Lutheran, Methodist, Sephardism, and native american (Delaware). End result, i have nothing in terms of religion, with a highly syncretic deism.
i like the incense/censors a lot.
the smoke always makes me cough.
... oh well ... done ... phew ... gotta run for a train into the city ... James Bond movie festival with my kid and her boyfriend ... Goldfinger tonight ... ... luck to all ...
I was born Jewish, non practising, married a non practicing Lutheran, and am now an atheist. Mr. Bich is a Minister of something [you can get it on line] and he performs wedding for friends
lapsed Catholic here.
Done! Bye for today
sl 5/12, pls
sl5/12 is the plural of the what you feed pigs before it
ty Molly and that fw hagn

any help needed before I go?
Feeling bovine today Car?
rather
can't move again. shots tomorrow
15 days left.
Cos, you really are a hyper thing. I don't know anyone who counts down the days until they go BACK to work.
lol I'm just done with vacation. This school year will have two extra weeks so next summer break will be shorter thank god
Well, here is hoping you can actually go on a vacation next time you have one. Ah...I remember that...going on vacation. Distant memory.
Car will be paid off before Christmas so will have extra money next summer so planning a trip to DC or Vermont
Oh good for you. Sounds like fun. I hope the car doesn't start eating up your money in repairs once it is paid off. That has happened to me, alas.
OH that happened spring break lol
I've been going through a bad spate of home repairs. One thing right after another. The plumber comes tomorrow. : (
Im sorry its rough I know.. plumber came last week, and again last month. and now the dryer isnt working...
Oh yeah, I just replaced my dryer two weeks ago. Like I said, one thing right after another.
I Hope your issues arent too serious
we couldnt use the bathroom sink for a month!
No not too serious but my funds are limited. Well, you know, if we want to eat and all that.
Ugh yeah. I make enough to live by for 2 people if you don't count the extra expenses like repairs
Anyone here know what bariatric surgery is?
Just googled it.It is to do with shrinking the stomach.
It's weight loss surgery Cos
Gastric band.
ah ok.. am looking over my insurance coverage lol
Uh, you definitely don't need coverage for that : P
nope definitely not!
Ah nice they pay up to 150.00 for glasses..thats new.
Health insurance coverage exhausts me. You have to go to their doctors, jump through their hoops if you have a special problem, and you pay and pay and pay.
Adding a spouse skyrockets the cost too., ridiculous
You are lucky you don't have kids. You should see what that does to the cost.
Good evening, everybody:)
hi...
and hi from me
there is life!:)
was getting lonely in here:)
just finishing off - must get stuff done today - yesterday was a miserable failure
byee
tc, Lynxx
Why won't it accept quora/
Because ENABLE is arbitrary.
Words With Friends just accepted QUBIT. Just sayin....
Because it says there are no Q words?
sorry, different game. I thought it was odd though because I wouldn't usually spell it that way
dictionary.com accepts qubit...
maybe that's what wwf uses
it does not accept quora...
I'm melting...
i am thinking about closing the windows... ;o)
found more ungulates
Greetings all.
hi...
hi pen and cos
A tough little grid this is:/
*brushes the grid's teeth*
i didn't think it was all that bad....
me neither.. I was just being supportive from lurkdom
Well, it is not bad in a putting the keyboard in a blender and hitting puree, kind of bad, but still a bit of a fighter.
hi ru...
hello ms PQ
thank goodness you're call name isn't denquis
Of course I would never do that to my computer, although, I once drove over a Rubik's Cube with my 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix--it was very satisfying..
cross you could have just taken off the stickers and rearranged them
I had an odd experience today, with Windows 7....
ru, do you have a new goal for the groan count?
I have done that as well, but driving over it felt much better.
I accidentally hit ctrl + alt + the down button. it turned my screen upside down.
cool:)
oh.. an aussie computer screen
If you do it again, does it revert back to normal?
No I have a technique to keep people from messing with my computer when I'm not home!
ctr/alt UP fixes it. try it!
Passphrase-locked screensavers are one's friend.
If you hit CNTRL/ALT/FLUSH it swirls counter clockwise
I'm too lazy for those
JUst tried. Doesnt work for me. boo hoo
um, this is silly Windows tricks, yes?
I know writers who have wide screen lcd displays and they set up the display in portrait mode instead of the usual landscape more, then mount the screen that way.
no shit molly?
um, I don't have a FLUSH key....
hi sceain
where is the CTRL+AL+ Detonate?
Well Jane, that was just a joke
evening, ms jane :) Hi, molly, ru, crossy, cos, et al :)
or crtl+ALT+repair my rubik's cube......
Howdy, Seain:)
The price on Dr Bronner's soap went up $2 at my favorite store -- to $11.39/L.
To heck with the cube. I was giggling as I dove over it.
drove
hello dear friends
hello dc
I only use 2L a year, so it's not a big expense. I just was not expecting that big a price increasse in the last 6 mos.
evening, trifioso
Sean, but it in one of those 55 litre drums, then you are good for 20 years or so at current price:)
buy
hi folks
Howdy, Welki:)
don't know that soap DC
like laundry soap or hand soap
dr. bonner's soap is more expensive up here - and it's sold in ounces. go figure.
hello, babblers.
hi to
hi owl
ah, we nearly have cowsill today
is that a real word?
it is a real band
well....
(horrible band)
well they were.. sorry
The original broadway version of Hair is much better
welk, just bac from musikfest preview. lots of good stuff
now i have that song in my head - i saw her sitting in the rain *ewww*
folkfest just ended here - good time had by all, from what i hear
we should go some year. or any festival. have passport, w ill travel. :)
if I never hear "we can Fly" again .. that will be too soon
LONG STRAIGHT CURLY FUZZY RAGGY TAGGY RATTY MATTY
i only went to the festival over the weekend on thurs and sat - too hot
i went one year - didn't like it much, too, too crowded
yeah, and it's usually too, too hot, too (too, too!)
found a horsie
it is brutal here this week. hoping it will abate by fest.
The international Elvis festival is winding up here--thank God!
Lobster Festival starting here on Wed....
the best band by far was lord huron.
18 to go back after food
mmm...lobster....
I"ll take Lobster fest over Elvis fest anytime
actually, there are better lobster deals outside the festival....
my 13 year old great nieces (twins) are coming for a few days, so we will go on Sunday (the free day)....
Lobster here is so expensive that you are almost afraid to eat it:(
it is stupidly expensive here.. and not very fresh
it's $5.50 a pound on the dock right now...
I am sure our east coast friend have a better time of it:)
*whimper*
Our Ontario Market price is $20/ pound as of last Wed.
i will probably bring the twins to the place shown on my icon for lobster rolls...
12.99/lb here
I think ours is closer to $30 a pound
A rare and delicious treat;)
I wish I could get $30 a pound for me.. I'd be rich
we are talking live, right?
not here
well cooked lobster meat would cost a lot more here....
yep, live
My beloved prefers Rock lobster tails;)
at the lobster shack, you can get a nice lobster roll, cole slaw, chips and a pickle for about $15....
I love lobster, and it has been great this season
That is a good price, pen:)
yes, it's a very reasonable price...
i go to McLoon's Lobster....mcloonslobster.com....
ok.. time for me to make dinner.. at least i'm going to have a nice glass of Cava
bye, ru....
i remember looking at all the places that participate last year - so jealous
'night, ru
i tried baconator fries tonight. yum
when I was a college student in ohio, I saved up for ages to buy myself a lobster dinner on my birthday. I sat in the fancy restaurant and ATE that lobster, like a true New England girl would. The other diners were APPALLED - it was like the lobster scene from Splash...I cared naught. For what I paid I was going to eat every. single. bit
don't know what they are, owl
*almost afraid to ask what a baconator is*...
isnt that a burger at wendys?
wendys fries with cheese whiz and bacon.
*applause for trif* me, too - that's why i cook them at home, lobsters and crabs
my brother once saw some tourists trying to eat the shell along with the meat...
thanks welki, lol
these are pretty good TO.
that is funny, trif!
I had to help some tourists at a place in Plymouth, Mass once - they ordered lobsters "in the rough" as we say (in their shells, boiled) and had NO clue how to proceed.
would have been better if the fries had been COOKED
there's only one other person (now, two people) who i know who gets down and dirty when picking crabs (hahaha, what a phrase) and lobster
We have a local pizza place here in town that sells something billed as "420 fries" - those Wendy's fries run a close second
oh i take apart the bodies and even eat the meat in the legs...
Welki, I leave no part of the lobster untouched.
i do not like lobster. i have eaten crawfish but n ot like a native. nor crab, though i love them
Sucking the meat out of the legs is the fun part:)
me too penquis!!! I was equally appalled to discover the Midwesterners just ate the tail, and the claws, and threw the rest away.
sisters in shellfish, trif - only shell
ohh, and pen, too! didn't see your post!
suck de heads, suck de heads..." not I
I remember learning in school that the Pilgrims considered things we now consider delicacies - like oysters, crabs, lobsters, etc. - "garbage food" and would only eat them if it was that or starvation
you haven't lived until you have had to pick apart those teeny Maine crabs!
<-- keeps a pair of spring loaded garden shears in the kitchen for stubborn shells
Lobster used to be given to prisoners
give me a good blue claw caught in the bay!
i love blue claws, pen - down near chesapeake bay
they are the janitors of the sea.....I try not to think too much about that....
(and soft shelled - ohhh, yum!)
my nephew was runner-up Maine Lobster Chef of the Year a few years ago...
I cant do raw oysters...my dad eats them like poetry
^5 owl
i don't do raw seafood...
love fried oysters...
I have to admit, the crabs in Maryland are better than just about anywhere on earth
or baked...
i like oysters, too. and clams. and mussels. and periwinkles. i sure miss the sea.
but it might just be the Old Bay Seasoning....
I eat absolutely everything that comes from the sea.
i make sure i have old bay, even here :)
mmmm crab imperial
the best i ever had was on the causeway from jacksonville to Atlantic beach
this convo is killing me! I just started a 21 day fitness challenge today....
i've made something like crab imperial, but never knew it had a name. i put it on toasted engligh muffins and then broil until the cheese melts
oh, so did a friend of mine.
is it online TO? It's probably the same one
i make it on the (very) rare occasion i have left over crab (here, we get dungeness crab)
do they taste the same?
i've never had them side by side, so really can't say - i'd bet that there are differences, though
(i don't care for king crab legs, though - i find them saltier than any other crab)
folks go nuts for dungeness legs
i bet you would like Maine crabmeat, especially if it was picked that day....yummy!
really? they're not very big
oh i know i would, pen - sure wish i was closer! (w/be in vermont later this year, but that's too far to drive, even for a feast)
one thing I really really love about summer is this time when the farm stands REALLY get cranking, and there is just so much wonderful local produce around
oh, i am wrong, it guess it is king crab legs? the are big and skinny
yeah, king crab legs are like three feet long
yes, VT is pretty far...once i brought 4 live lobsters to VT for my Russian friend's son....he was doing a veterinary internship on a farm there...
