I finished up with a few days in Iceland, then NYC, before Amtrak-ing home to Cleveland.
I sooooo want to go to Iceland! Ever since Old Icelandic was a unit of my degree.
I stared at the sky. The movement of clouds is amazing. I felt like I was at the command center of all the weather in the world. And. . . the Elf Garden!
Hope you took loads of pics.
Too many. I will probably edit and arrange them once the weather gets crappy.
I sketched, too. A little.
I'm still working on our New Zealand pics from February :( - but it's fun and brings back so many memories.
I find I'm remembering more and more of the trip, especially the first cities, Amsterdam and Berlin.
I fell in love with France. My airbnb digs (NYC, AMst, Berlin< Paris, and Iceland) were all fantastic.

I love Amsterdam - we met up with Sprite last year, when we were there.

Of course a lot of homes in Australia do not have central heating. So if it does get nippy you do have to find a heat source from somewhere.

A fabulous story Car and I delight in telling anyone who will listen is the time my mum drove us to see U2 and actually attended with us. The man in front of her smoked probably eight joints over the course of the show, 100% of which blew right back in her face. By the end of the show that poor woman was LIT. And THEN - she says she is "hungry" on the way home, and can we pleeeeeease go to Burger King (this is a woman who never asked for fast food in her life). She was all kinds of chatty and babbly with the woman at the drive through, and then orders a WHALER - Car and I almost wet our pants howling at the whole thing.

most dogs surrendered to a shelter are put to sleep within 3 days
yeah after a friend had him, and I had the dog. eventually i persuaded him to give the dog to a stranger rather then surrender the dog.
These animals are just thrown away. Thank goodness for people like you, Une.
yeah I moved from his craziness and I have 2 cats.. so I found a place with no dogs.. as that is a ton of responsibility.
the saints are the people who see them in the shelters and pull them, crossing fingers and toes that a local family or a rescue group will handle placement/transport
