Hello fellow babblers :-)
en8, please?
to cover with something
Nice clue and thank you, Jayk!
sorry didn't get it is there a 6 letter word after the en that you could please give me the stats for?
yw
after the en there is a word used to describe a cloth or sheet in which a corpse is wrapped for burial.
perfect thanks got it
zi 5/24 clues please
I have a ZL 5/24 monetary unit of Poland. But do not have a Zi 5/24 yet, Gran.
Okay I now have all the Zs and there is no Zi 5/24 Gran so it must be the ZL you are after?
I can give you the stats for the other Zs if you need them.
se8, please?
I don't have that one either, Marc.
found it it works off the se6
Down to 28 left already!
I have a SE 5/10 is it off of that one, Marc?
It works of the se6/18 it is something that will detect motion
Oh duh thank you, Marc. I should of seen that one.Got both now :-)
I have a WO7 anyone got the stats for the other 7?
fo7/40
Thank you, molly.
I hope you are well, molly?
Very good thanks Zoom. You?
I too am well thanks, Molly!
Found it. Must remember to just add different vowels to the end of other words I already have.
Hey, with this word list, it's worth a shot to try anything : D
haha damn right!
Airduo- The pilot & co pilot :-)
I like it, Zoom : D
ஜ۩۞۩ஜ F.I.R.E.W.O.R.K.S ஜ۩۞۩ஜ
Many thanks for all the stats and clues fellow babblers. Happy babbling!
Take care, ((Molly))
good morning all
Good morning, everybody ((sprite))
hiya crossy :) *hugs*
hello, all :-)
Howdy, Une :)
hello
hiya Une :) *hugs*
Howdy, Babs
hello Babs
lol, imagine finding a zl word for starters... I am worried about myslf
how are you and the mrs doing, crossy? And Une, how are you today?
I am more worried because it is the ONLY z word that I have found :)
ok, spritey, and you?
lol crossy :)
I am fine, thanks. Feeling good, mostly, and slowly regaining my energy levels.
We are all fine, Sprite. Mrs is doing well and the offspring continues to eat 3 times his own weight in food on a weekly basis :)
hehehe time to kick him out and make him earn his own way, crossy ;)
problem is once you feed them they keep coming back :(
ain't that the truth
for food and laundry services
Interesting day yesterday. Was able to apply for a spot as a freelance journalist for a small town newspaper in a Village near here. Have to love the name. it is officially know as "The Town of the Blue Mountains." Not sure of the paper yet, but there as several small dailies and quarterlies in the region. :)
and money loans
how cool, crossy! :-)
Very cool :)
oh wow, keeping fingers crossed for you, crossy
I would be a dream position. self-employed and I can slot it in as my schedule requires--barring deadlines that is ;)
More human interest stuff than anything else.
sounds really perfect. They'd be lucky to have you, crossy. Just remember to keep your sentences simple ;)
does sound perfect indeed :-)
Yup. paper writing is a whole different kettle of fish. More a series of back to back two-line sentences using key information.
how do you find local jobs these days in your area, crossy? newspaper, onlne?
exactly. And not trying to be smart or inventive or literary, just plain ole good language
Online works very, very well in this area. and you hit the govt job banks as well
Yup. I break out my Hemingway in this kind of writing, Sprite :)
good man, crossy :)
I am a firm believer in the "Iceberg" theory. :)
should work fine here indeed. i really really hope you get the job.
Good morning.
That can be my crossy tidbit of the day!!
If a writer of prose knows enough of what he is writing about he may omit things that he knows and the reader, if the writer is writing truly enough, will have a feeling of those things as strongly as though the writer had stated them. The dignity of movement of an ice-berg is due to only one-eighth of it being above water. A writer who omits things because he does not know them only makes hollow places in his writing. –Ernest Hemingway
hiya sukee :)
Howdy, Sukee :)
When I was younger I hated Hemingway (even got an embarrassing letter published in Entertainment Weekly about it), but I have come to appreciate him and find my writing is similar to his in style of brevity :)
..of course when you edit with a shotgun, you tend to be the final word on that topic :(
hey sukee :-)
Hi sprite, crossy, une.
crossy LOL
:D
I often apply this theory of omission when working on a paper :)
hah, found a 2nd z word
Over-read, over-explore, over-research, then cull the heck out of it.
and the other two. Finally.
Write it all first--100,000 word epic, then hack and slash it down to 350 pages or so and poof! you have a novel :)
lol
Well...not exactly "poof". I have been editing mine since last September. lol
editing is the most time consuming and tedious part of writing... and often the most important
Like the man said "Write drunk, edit sober." I have been dry for a long, long time :)
good advice, grin
Hello all
hey car.ee :) *hug*
((group))
Hi car
How are you Sprite?!?!?
Hi sukee!
hi kids
Hi Scrabs!
I am fine :) And you?
hi Scrabs :)
Hi scrabs
Morning folksies
Hi Bichon!
SAme
and bichon too :)
hi bich.
Sprite, I thought of you Monday when I went to the nearby school to do heath exams--Holland School District. The Holland Dutchmen.
good to hear, car
Howdy Car, Scrabby :)
I saw that Scrabs on FB
very nice, Scrabs. I hope they did us proud
Of course this area was originally settled by Dutch and the Holland Land Company.
My title to my home and land shows all prior owners and goes all the way back to... The Holland Land Company!
yayyyy
We have Holland marsh here :) is is some of the most fertile growing soil in the entire province :)
Yesterday I went to another school, a tiny school with just 280 kids from pre-K to grade 12, and when I asked a 9 a year boy if I could check his "private parts" he said, "Oh, man, that is so embarrassing, can I close my eyes?" Haha.
awwww that is so sweet!
so cute
Silly boy, it's YOUR body. But he didn't want to watch ME check him.
Never saw it but today is the day mentioned in Back to the Future 2 :)
oh wow, that is funny, sukee :) Didn't realise
Yes, that day of the future is here.
as they say... the future is NOW!
And the Cubs are almost in the World Series
fi5/18(the2nd one).....clue please
hey aeb :)
hey sprite
it is like the first one, but with a different consonant after the i
aeb, do you have the FR that is another name for inlet?
nm it is not. Refuses to take, lollll
I can't see clearly or well today. Left eye is bandaged up from cataract surgery.
aeb! Oh my! hope your recovery is quick and uneventful
does not make for comfortable babbling. I hope it all went well, aeb
I know that word, but it is not in the grid.
ty ........it will be(I hope)
Ummm, sukee....I don't see an F next to an R in the grid.
Should that be fi?
good morning, everyone! stats for the lone E fifth column?
I'm so easily confused in the morning :(
When can you remove th bandage, aeb?
Sorry, yes FI :)
Hi dawg.
Hi Dawg...on that one too
en8... to cover with a burial cloth
ah right. fi5/18 the 2nd. What the coastline of sweden is famous for
So, now been almost a week before I needed any pain killers.
hiya, scrabs, car, sukee, aeb, sprite, rolin...et. al
ty rolin
hiya dawg :)
TY, Ro
and hi rolin too
or since.
hi all...
wow that is good, sukee. Progress is being made
ty, rolin
Still some pain, but tolerable.
Good for you, sukee.
A little withdrawal from gabapenton
I was ms cranky pants for a few days.
scrabbs... the doctor is to remove it today at 11:15 AM.
you're entitled, sukee.
Especially when I still have pain and had to take a holter test this past weekend.
even more entitled to be cranky then.
Acute and chronic pain will do that. I transitioned to chronic migraines over the summer--almost every day. I started topiramate 4 weeks a go and in the last 3 wks have had just 3 bad migraines. Headache-free days are wonderful.
Yay, aeb.
ouch scrabs. Not fun. Glad you are managing.
And car has chronic back pain.
A holter monitor during the playoffs?!?!? No fair!
Oh Scrabs...I feel your pain. I'm so sorry
Yes, the idiocy of the insurance company continues...
ty scrabbs..but I still can (see) the fi5/18(the 2nd one).
Getting older is no fun, hoping this will not leave me with chronic pain.
aeb: F*** Escort. Insert the i.
The summer was awful, but I still hiked, and biked and kayaked, despite my pain. But, damn, I was tired of having a migraine everyday.
scrabbs as a fellow migraine...I wish you MORE pain-free days.
Think of a Scandinavian word for inlet with alternate spelling. It makes me think of Monty Python.
poor car. I know. Chronic pain is hell.
Good for you scrabs.
The goal of insurance companies is to cut costs and save money, NOT to give the very best care to patients.
fireflies. Nice chewy grid
TY, sukee
I finally got a call...they have approved 1 shot. I have 2 sacroiliac joints, so now I have to choose which one to inject and then be lopsided...again.
TY, aeb.
Congrats, Sprite!
Have to go get ready, hoping my Jays win tonight. Either that or it's go home.
Car, you are getting PT, right?
Good Luck Jays! HAGD sukee!
*hugs* to you all!
HAGD Sprite!
Ridiculous, Car. So inane!
Bye sprite and sukee.
Yup. I told them that unless they approve me for two, I'm not going to go through this again.
They can then provide me with a list of alternative treatments that they will cover.
If I had asked for drugs, I would have had 4 refills by now.
Maybe they need to learn anatomy.
Do you have a specialist calling the insurance company for you?
They have the written prescription from the Neuro-Spine doctor.
My guess is that the doctor at the pain clinic just wanted to get me something so they put in for 1 injection.
That's what they did in July...just the left side...and I have been literally lopsided since and now have no relief at all
Subpar treatment.
Grossly subpar
I would like to go to another pain clinic to see if they can do better.
However, the other pain clinic is booked months out
I'm F-ed no matter where I turn
OK...enough of this. moving on
Can you go to a hospital-based clinic?
That's the one that is booked out months
I have to get ready for work. I have a PA-student with me for the next 4 wks. I enjoy teaching but it mean I will be very busy and will fall behind and get stressed. Well, I don't need to get stressed. I can accept falling behind as a trade-off for teaching my former patient.
Good Luck with that! Enjoy the process as much as you can! How fun to see a former patient grow and be inspired by you! :)
I have had sacri-iliitis many times and it did eventually resolve with time and stretching.
I really did mean "Good Luck"...it looks snarky now that I see it
Taylor is a nice young lady, now 22.
Wow.
You are amazing!!!
Enjoy the day.
Inspiring the doctors of tomorrow.... :)
But I do recall the severe pain, especially during the night.
I'll be fine. Thank you for all of your counsel. Send me a bill
tadone!! finito! fun grid
Congrats DAwg!
Reading back.. What a pain. We let doctors decide what medication is best--not insurance companies. though we do default to generic sometimes so as to not have to pay for the name only.
Insurance calls all the shots here.
:(
and the pharnaceuticals
m
Yes
mm, yes. I wonder what new drug has been risen in cost by 5000% today?
gross, isn't it?
Wow...Byzantine...is that Heath Ledger?
Canada was recently sued by U.S pharma for wanting to lower the price of a certain drug :(
Sorry, I have no idea.
the drug in question is Soliris. Crazy
Pretty sure it is. Incredible.
really?
Imagine, 700k a year for your medication :(
everyone around the world should have easy access to any medication that a doctor deems necessary. I am so naive...I know
Seems it is the only drug that Alexion produces--at that price I imagine it is the only one they need to produce as it is a lifetime medication.
And, IMHO, I am thinking that jackass who was recently called out for raising the price of that medication was a patsy. I think he was a fall guy.
Imagine getting paid to take the fall for that crap?
The pharmaceuticals are accountable to there shareholders and not the public at large ... just as politicians are beholding to their lobbyists and not the public at large.
I just think there is a lot more to that story. In this day and age, who would just come out with a statement like that.
I think the whole thing may be a diversion.
I think we live in a corrupt society.
Yup
Uh oh..I'm talking conspiracy on a public internet channel...I will let you know if the Feds show up...
lol
If I disappear....
NSA sees all....
OK...time to get the second wave up and running.
HAGD all! Stay healthy!
Every time I go into an empty room I say "I know you are listening!" I just hope to freak out some NSA operative one day :)
tc, car
yes, i stole that from "XKCD" :)
I like your quote in your profile, TheByzantine, however, you must also consider that this plant may also be heaven for another word as well....
The again we could be like Horton Hears A Who, and our entire universe could be sitting on a dandelion :)
Only the Shadow knows ...
and he is not telling

Hi Everybody
I'm glad I remembered about the zl word...
Just reached halfway mark and do not get Lickety at work
most of the words are "normal" babble words min.
You know it is an interesting grid when the zl5/24 is one of the easier ones to find :)

nice to see you. how are you today?
Enjoying the afternoon sunshine. The mornings are dank and cloudy but the afternoons have been beautiful
it is lovely here, after our colds snap. to 70 today.
Have you had frost yet?
oh yes, we had a freeze. i gave up and did not try to save plants.
I thought we would so I put the potted things in the garage but then it didn't get below 40
i am going to the mall but will stop at the farm for produce. see you later.
nice. But a pumpkin for me, please
buy*
don't you have them there?
They don't have nice ones here. Halloween is only celebrated chez moi. I decorate the house and have sweets for the kids but very few people here do it
it is overcelebrated here, or not celebrated at all. like too many other things, it's been commercialized, scripted by adults, and politically sanitized. We only get big kids, so I have stopped.
see you soon, ruby, enjoy that sunshine.

need to think about a new photo for K
Hi iruka welcome to Babble
no one is reading it?
What saga round?
well, very few--haven't had a sale I know of in months. Send me your address and I'll send you a volume for free. I think you maybe met my daughter nce--she's doing the index. I'd like to catch up on one of your wine parties some time. my address is 816 n fifth, spfld il--jjackson. They are very good.
bethn, I have been working since I was 13 on a saga called The Round Barn, a biography of an american farm. Of course wasn't working on it all that time--but I have the most recorded midwest farm in history! see roundbarnstories.com, or jacquelinejackson, com I think is the other site--my daughter maintains one, my techno guy the other. I'm now 87--Volume 4 should be finished by Feb. Those that read them are captured--but they are paperweights.
firewords. ai6 adverb was my last
thanks all cluers!
and welcome to babbl, iruka. The only babbler I know personally is Nef in Mlps. And my daughter Rastapopolous, who isn't on often. She milks goats.
I will check them out this week, that is an impressive life's work, Round, not many people have your determination. Lots of us have the idea, very few actually act on it. Kudos to you!
Congrats dan2bit

I am babbling away in the UK :)
bethn, I thought up a new word this week--someone on Babble has a list of made up words in her po profile--Soodle? Aanyway, this last bk is taking forever, so many loose ends to tie uo, so it's still vital, but drudgery. the word is trudgery--I trudge along doing drudgery!
please send hugz my way. have had a couple horrible days that I son't want to share on chat but deeling very low right now
