FWs
Congrats, Ru and Jess
thanks
oooh, new Yiddish word for me. Thanks Liz
congrats jess and ru
Not one to use, in my opinion, dc
agreed, having looked it up.
I've rarely heard it used but always insultingly.
fw and of to bed, goodnight all
Phantom : Sneezes
(passes zooz some Kleenex)
lol
Congrats on finishing by the way :-)
ஜ۩۞۩ஜ F.I.R.E.W.O.R.K.S ஜ۩۞۩ஜ
Had to look up the SH7 Not seen that word before.
Happy babbling everyone!
good morning all
Not seeing sh 7/60 any further clues please
{{hugs}} and good morning my dearest sprite.
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend! Your cartoon cracked me up :D
sprite please shut your eyes. ;-)
ugh
gran, is it possible you can give sprite a few minutes to have a go first?
OK
sprite, i'm glad that cartoon made you laugh. i nearly laughed myself silly when i saw it. and you the first person i thought of....lolll
gran, sh7. not he + i am going to *** my slippers to put on + high scoring tile
*reopens chatter box* coast clear yet?
ughhhh no smack in the middle of the clue. I was gone for 10 mins!
*giggle* i bett you already have it anyway
nope I didn't. do now. Thanks, I guess.
i'm sorry sweetie. i tried to give you some time to find it yourself.
Good morning campers! How is everyone?
lol, I am just reading it. And I was already gone and thought 10 mins should be enough.
hiya matty :) All good here.
morning matty.
good here. had magnesium infusion yesterday.
muntate - to make coins change shape or value
I'm ok except for a toothache :( Rose, what does a magnesium infusion do? Apart from infuse magnesium, obviously...?
ouch matty, that sucks. Any clove oil handy?
it calms my muscles which quiver all the time. (i have fibromyalgia) the quivering cause some really bad spasms and cramps.
No :( I've taken ibuprofen so we'll see
Ouch Rose! I hope the infusion helps
Does anyone have the stats for the U?
not yet, it is a little stubborn
us 5/12 us 6/21
Just popped back to say hi and hugs :)
Liz! *hugs* and hi, to you both :)
how is your body? All on the mend?
sprite?? oh for goodness sake. stop answering my question before i ask it. *rolls eyes*
lol
{{hugs}} lizgirl
Slowly - still sore.
How are you all?
those deep bruises are nasty. What helps is a deep massage... hurts like hell, but shortens the sore period by 2/3 at least.
Sneezing last night didn't help at all :(
I am fine, thanks.
much better here. had my first infusion of magnesium in doc.'s new rooms.
ugh sneezing when in pain... not fun
Thanks for that clue I would never have found that word without your help
That's good Rose - hope this will be the beginning of regularly feeling better.
a working knowledge of yiddish really helps in babble
doc. had to rush off to theatre before it was finished. he asked me to show his receptionist how to remove the cannula. afterwards she said i was a great teacher.
yw gran
True but I'd never have spelt it that way - Diz saying it was Yiddish made me look for it.
Thanks for the Us. More strange words
lol! Ok, watch my prediction: in a year Rose will have the keys to his office and is free to infuse herself with whatever she needs whenever she wants
lol - you could be right there :)
yw matty
Have you heard from your travelling daughter?
only the first 2 days. She was having a grand time.
Speaking English, i hope.
So happy she's enjoying herself.
only english :)
Is she getting to see any of the country?
tomorrow she will move to a daughter of a friend/colleage of the people she is staying with now. The girl wants to show her around, and is born and raised english.
sprite do you think lizgirl would appreciate my cartoon?
BTW Sprite - thanks for the email - will answer sometime soon. I also owe Pugs and email - not feeling much like writing.
I think she will love it, rose :)
That'lll be great for her.
take your time, Liz, whenever you feel like it will be soon enough. *hugs* (gentle ones)
Appreciate the gentle hugs
*grins* Yeah, squeezing you is out for now.
Pretty fed up really - it's been over a week. I want to stop hurting. I don't like hurting!!!!!
hurting sucks. It takes a truckload of energy. Be nice to yourself, Liz. It takes time to recover and lots of energy, even though nothing much shows on the outside.
That's true. We've taken it very easy today and not too bad yesterday either. Haven't even thought about going to the gym and won't before next week at the earliest.
btw, lizgirl, be warned. if you feel the urge to laugh, try holding your sides for support. email sent.* grin *
Didn't even walk today. Walked 5 km on Monday and felt it on Tuesday :(
very smart. Walking would be good, though. Calm pace, no pushing it.
I do Rose, I do! Can't avoid laughing here though.
and lollll NOT 5 km! Half a km maybe.
just remember when you read my email.
omg I found the at the ocean word for once.
Loved it Rose - it arrived really quickly - unlike the one I sent to sprite last week.
yay sprite. that is one i miss so many times. it's a real palm/forehead moment isn't it?
Me too - found that ocean word. I also always miss arena - but found that yesterday (or whenever it was)
yeah that one got lost in cyberspace. No explanation for that.
it is, rose. I can't understand why my brain refuses to spot it.
OK - time to love you and leave you - only popped in to say hi! Finished this grid quite a while ago. Look after yourselves and hugs. Ouch - coughing fit!

Paul McCartney is here in Buffalo for a concert tonight. Some people have paid a LOT of money for tickets. Not me.
Concert prices are insane these days.
Wish i could see him, but is not going to happen if they price out of the world for the 1% :(
And his voice is not like his voice in the 60's and 70's.
I am sure the concert-goers will enjoy the concert.

hi all
ji jmc
Hi, I mean
(((hugs all))) *relurk*
hugs back attcha. I think I am invisible even when in the chog now stid
nope i sees you right there bugs
glad you do jmc, I think of you often and hope you are well
it's been kinda a rough year with either too much work or not enough. . . but i survives
you are a survivor, for sure. I am sorry about the work situation. I find an unstable paycheque disconcerting.
well being more or less self employed (being the boss of a non-profit has some of the same issues) i am used to unstable but then I had more control. . . .now i am at the mercy of others. . . .being a contract worker is perhaps the worst of all possible worlds. . . but it keeps the wolf from the door
and you are close to being able to collect a pension which will give you something for the work to subsidize. I am waiting for that day myself.
what long time babbler is in the grid tonight?
HEgo!
ding ding ding ding
Bugs win a gold star for her forehead!
Good Evening All
*wins
good to chat with you again but I must be off. Called for supper. Can I wear my star at the table?
hi nef!
bye Bugs Enjoy your supper!
Hi jmc; how are you lately?
i think it is acceptable table manners to wear a newly won star. . . but not for breakfast because that is too long. . .
bye bugs
how's life treating you nef? I haven't seen you in an age
(GEEZ! For some reason I have to hit "enter" to chat tonight - just like always; but I'm forgetting to do it)
haha i forgets things like that too. . .
*worries about players*
what is worse is that i got a new computer with a touch screen and so i spend even more time than i did before trying to get my old computer to respond to my fingertips. . .
how sweet of you to worry ru!
it's "okay;" I'm having a total knee replacement in 3 weeks & DH has been in & out of the hospital again. But we're doing okay for all of that.
i was already trying to get the non-existent touch screen on my old computer to work because of my smartish phone. . .
LOL, jmc! DH has a touch screen now too & he can't remember how to use it half the time
hi ruru; how are your knees doing these days?
well i can use the touch pad or the screen except some things work better with one method and some with the other. . .
having or had nef? Should you be asleep on the operating table?
I like the keyboard; but I like the tablet with a touch screen too.
knee is ok.. I haven't been begging as of late
*gently sets nef in PB (see 9:15) -- with MJCL*
or proposing to a fiancé either :D
why not? (I sleep everywhere else?) Seriously, it's going to be done with a block; so that won't be too bad
better send her monkeys with her stid :D
MJCL????
i don't see the slip up. . . .
Ooops, stid! I thought I misspelled
it
*new term: the lurker police &
And now I know that there are 2 ways to spell that
??????????????
*looks exasperated*
(MJCL = mochajavachocolatte -- TM, Pat Pend, R, etc. to me)
OOOOOIIIII See
(I have no clue what MJCL is, but I did say a word in the chat I shouldn't have
I thought you may have forgotten how to spell my name stiddie! hahaha
(invites Patti Labelle to the chat)
sorry, in the middle of translating the weekly newsletter. brb
(at least it isn't pumpkin spice latte!)
nbt
that's as good as it gets for me these days. . . hahaha
You aren't playing much lately, are you, jmc?
I'm very slow at finding words here tonight. ANyone else have that problem or is it just me?
no. . . i have been either working too long of hours or fretting because i was not working. . . but i am getting over it now. . . .
i only have 21 words nef. . . but i have never been very fast. . . .
feast or famine, jmc? That's tough. Sorry to hear that
I have 57; but I started earlier while on hold on the phone for half an hour
Finally got NBT!
well its okay nef. . . i am in better financial shape than i have been most of my adult life. . . so i really shouldn't get all muffty about it. . .
whoo hooo nef!
i found the U word very difficult myself. . .
Medical term (+ pl)
i have a beautiful house. . . an adorable niece and great-niece. . . and a thoughtful son. . . life is actually really very good. . .
Oops! I'm wrong! (I just looked it up!)
but we humans so often lose sight of that and get all wrapped up in our woes instead of celebrating our joys. . .
yeah i had never heard of it myself nef. . .
jmc, I've found that it helps each day to look at the positives in life. Otherwise; it's Hard......
but i will say that whenever i see a Z in the grid I look longingly for zarf. . . my all time favorite word. . . .
okay, translation done.
zarf? what is it?
What are you translating, stid?
yes. . .when my hubby was alive we ended each day telling each other what we appreciate about the other and what we had done as a gift for the other. . . a positive end to some otherwise rough days. . .
*singing lustily: ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGGHHT SIDE OF LIFE -- whistle whistle whistle....*
wtg stiddie
LOL, stid! I agree
I've never heard of zarf before, jmc; but now I like that word too!
my weekly newsletter. Have some parents who don't speak english very well, who benefit from some support. I use Google translate, then revise it myself to make it more clear. I still make lots of mistakes, but I generate so much text that it would swamp the interpreters if I asked them to do all the little bits and bobs.
it's better than the theme song i took for myself most of my life. . . .born under a bad sign. . . i've been down since i could crawl . . . weren't for bad luck. . . i wouldn't have no luck all. . . .
isn't that a great definition duo nef?
Life can be harsh. Right now we're in a good place, Tom and I, but we know how quickly that can change!
Oh, jmc; that'a a bad theme song
i gave it up nef. . . decided i could find a better one. . .
yes; and I can see it's a very necessary word too (in some situations)
haven't found it yet but i am still looking. . .
hehe it is a very good word sometimes. . . .
well i am off. . . early morning for me tomorrow. . .
bye all! *poof*
My life theme songs: Tomorrow,(from Annie); Over the rainbow, and
niters, jmc
MAAAAAANAna manana te amo manana tu es un nueve dia!
:-D
my other one was from "Man of LaMancha" but danged if I can remember it right now.....
Let's see if I can remember: As I was a walkin' I heard a complainin' and spied an old woman the picture of gloom. She stood on her doorstep and (something something) (tw4 raining) and this was her song as she wielded her broom: Oh life is a toil and death is a trouble Beauty will fade and riches will flee
(finishes song) pleasures they dwindle and prices they double and nothing is as I would wish it to be! (from a songbook of American Folksongs compiled by ??Alan Lomax? )
disclaimer: I am in NO way comparing jmc to either an "old" woman *youthful mama smile* nor to a "picture of gloom" as in real life she is an inspiration and a delight to be around!
I have never heard that one before, stid.
It's a lovely, catchy tune, actually and I used to sing it to the boys when they were little. I got a replacement copy of the book after the fire, but can't think where it is at the moment.
That's an interesting song to sing to kids.
I think "sneezish" is a wurd: a hybrid sound made by people in denial of their allergies.
LOL well, a little bit of realism isn't a bad thing!
I used to babysit a lot when I was young; I'd sing lullabysfrom the time I was 11 on: Summertime (from Porgy & Bess), Irish Lullaby, and others.
also faeish: resembling or appearing to belong to the good folk...
I think faws should be a word; sounds like it should mean sleepy in the fall
oh, I like that one! :-D
for some reason, I keep seeing (& typing) "agate" & it doesn't work!
hm. I "saw" that one too!
a couple of those "P" words are very questionable to me
hm
I am down to 18 and not progressing for the last 20 minutes. I think I will list.
brb
same here. (but I have 25 left)
15 now, amazing how just count and first two is helpful. Working backward from Z, now on the S words.
hm. SH 7 perhaps?
I don't have it yet. Sorry :-(
no worries, will leave it for last then check archives
found it. Another new one for me
A jewish disparaging word for a man?
(Gentile or Gentile-acting)
hm. okay...
*thinking*
sounds like a laundry detergent nef :D
feminine pronoun plus mis-spelled verb?
Um, ru, not one I'm familiar with
(ends with the last letter of the alphabet, stid)
aha! was on the right track, but... :-) thanks for the assist!
Ss swiped!
WTG, stid!
Ps pilfered

want help?
nice to finish a grid. Glad I am now able to plan (most of) a week in a few hours a night instead of ALL night and into the weekend! Now I only have to work extra time when I have a particular project...
No, stid; I'm plodding along at my usual turtle pace. (Thanks for the offer though)
YAY, stid!!! WTG!!!
And Yay, new teacher stid!! I knew you'd do it!
:-) okay, I am going to head out. ((Nef)) thanks for your encouragement and sage advice. Hope to "see" you online again soon. *poof*
