Hi all and thanks, Lickety
you missed a VERY exciting match :-)

hi neil
Hi.
Hi, Neil!
Hey melonhead! :)
How have you been.
I see you are engaged. That is sweet (:
Great, thanks... and yep. :)
How have you been?
Good. I took my first trip to Europe this summer. It was My Big Adventure. Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Regensburg, Paris, 3 nights in Iceland and Harmlem, NYC on each end.
Harlmr! I should look when I type.
Wow... sounds nice. :)
I travelled alone, at utter liberty for 5 weeks.
And yeah... the "correction" was worse than the original typo. I'd give up if I was you. ;)
I'm still getting used to being a responsible person, you know, working, paying bills, getting stuff done. . .
Ohh yeah?
LOL it was!
This is new for you?
Wiseguy
:D
Anyway, I really do work for a living and have to be up in 6 hours. so I'll sign off. I don't get to the start of Babble as much as I used to, being responsible and all. . .
So, mazal tov! and laila tov.
[poof]
Todah rabah! :)
what does laila tov mean?
"good night"
oh
and what does todah rabah mean?
Thank you very much.
ah
thanks
You didn't know this? I thought your wife was Jewish?
love learning jewish words
she is.. but she didn't speak jewish
That was Hebrew, not Yiddish
Uhhh... you mean Hebrew. ;)
Hebrew.. sorry
^5, Arb!
Jewish is the religion, Yiddishis thelanguage
Thanks for saving me that explanation, ARB. :)
ah.. ok
Hebrew and Yiddish...
and/or? :P
she didn't speak much Hebrew.. my friends in NYC taught me a lot of Yiddish :D
Judaism is the religion... Jewish is more than just that.
Both Hebrew and Yiddish are languages. Yiddish is Old German, Hebrew is an ancient Semitic language.
Judaism is the religion of the Jewish people.
she's my ex wife now neil..
Yes, which is why I said "was", ru.
Instead of "is". ;)
gotta crash... g'nite. :P

Hi and hugs, Sprite
*hugs Liz* Hello there! How are the both of you today?
OK thanks and you and yours?
good to hear. We are ok, except for a cold virus that is working its way through our family.
Yuck! That's autumn, I guess! Wish you all better.
thanks. Should pass soon, though never soon enough ;)
How's the eating now?
in between the tiny tummy and the soar throat, not too great, lol. Liquids are best, atm.
sore*
Bit of a setback :(
just temporary. I don't worry about it, as long as I drink enough, the rest will come once the virus has passed.
I'm sure it will. Hopefully before too long.
from your mouth... :) How are things at your side? Battling heat already?
Yes, this week has been stormy - so hot and a bit humid. Not too bad yet.
doesn't sound comfy. We are entering cold weather here now. Can't go out without a coat anymore.
And I sit here at 6.15 pm in shorts and vest t- shirt.
The rain has been at night though, which is the best.
ah that is a good thing. Yeah it is always odd to think how far apart we are, while it doesn't feel that way at all :)
Saw a great film today - though our friends didn't like it. Called The Dressmaker. Aussie film - lots of caricatures. Quite black but also funny. Got mixed reviews.
That's true.
sounds good. Glad you enjoyed it!
It's weird seeing a film at 9.30am though.
lol indeed! Why so early?
That's the time it was on. I think there were other showings but our friends organised it.
ah ok. Kind of fun, actually. Very different from normal.
Followed by coffee, which was good.
I think lots of people start very early here - I prefer later.
and cookies, I hope
We shared a scone.
With jam and cream of course :)
hehehe nice going
Too many a's in this grid.
just passed halfway, so far so good.
120 down here but need to go soon.
and I actually found 3 8s so far, so that is rather good.
nice going, Liz! Time to cook dinner?
WTG! I only have 4 :(
Yes. Usual Friday night stuff.
hah, that is one better than me!
{{hugs}} and good morning my dearest sprite. {{hugs}} xoxox lizgirl

We see you.
We see you.
i wanna be free.....
*frees rose*
Sends key to rose.
I just found your phantom, Liz, lollll.
But not in the grid?
well yes, but no... I just spotted 'migrant', entered it twice, then thought it looked familiar, scrolled back and realised you had already told me it wasn't in. Slow in the uptake, me.
and i'm in....hehehehe
Phew! Thought I'd made a mistake even tho I tried it first.
lol rose... finally! Scroll back for all our loving comments :)
Welcome and hugs again
yw sprite. and thanx for the hugs. my goodness babble was stubborn tonight
nasty if it doesn't seem to want to let you in, isn't it. Glad you made it.
thanx for the hugs liz. i was posting and posting and nuttin' was happening.
It was for us - frustrating for you.
brb, potty break
Stars for the 9 pls, Rose.
Stats - careless fingers.
we went to Point Nepean today, on a BIG bus.
in9/54. it's a plural
Where's that? Hope you had a lovely day.
Thanks. Looking but not hopeful right now.
it used to be a quarantine station until the 1980's then a training camp for army cadets. some buildings date from 1800's.
Interesting.
it was raining when we left, but had backed off to a drizzle when we arrived. don pushed me around in the wheelchair. he only nearly tipped me out twice...lolll
Lol
it was a trip organised by a couple from our church. and no, organise is not in the grid. i kept on trying to find it. i was so sure it was.
hadnt tried that one.
and there is no such word as organate either. i know, i tried several ti5.
Another storm brewing here - 100 km away according to hubby. Will probably split around us again.
i hope so liz. these storms are impressive. so much water in a matter if minutes.
organate = carnivorous musical instrument
They often split around us. We're in a rain shadow.
Lol.
I like that one.
I'm sure sprite will add it.
back :) I do and I will
I've got to go now. Hugs to you both.
*giggle* or how about?? organate = someone who consumes offal
bye Liz! *hugs*
{{hugs}} my dear lizgirl enjoy your evening. xoxox to you both
I like the musical instrument even more
added, thanks rose
sprite, i am so pleased the flowers cheered you up.
they really did, rose. Made me smile on a rotten day :D
yay!! my job is done... xoxox honey
xxx I can't tell you how much I appreciate it
i can't do much for you, being all those kilometers away from you.
we need a Scotty to beam us over. That would be so awesome. But now you are here a little bit. I feel you here every time I look at the flower.
flowers*
*going mi4y eyed* i really feel such a kinship with you, sweetie.
we are family, born on different continents. Soul sisters :)
oh yeah!! {{hugs}}
*hugs back* Am glad you had a good outing, rose. Did it work for you to use the TENS during travel?
yes it did sprite. i am glad i thought of it. and the bus driver was so helpful. getting the chair in and out. and helping me down the steps.
as he should be!
oh and we had to take lunch with us. i went especially with don to buy some cold meat for his sandwiches. i suggested pariser. he curled his lip. i offered strasburg. he didn't. and i thought okay, stras it is. he then claimed when we got home he doesn't like stras. *sigh* i nearly stuffed it in his left ear.
ohhhhhh! I hope you told him he better bloody well eat it and like it!
so i made him stras and salad sandwiches. i had a quarter cold bbq chicken and a sandwich with 1/2 an avocado and a third of a block of brie in it.
sounds good, rose. Did himself behave?
when he ate it, i asked how was his sandwich. the beast said, with a twinkle in his eye, that he couldn't taste any of the meat.
roflolllll he is so bad. But funny :)
i had a good mind to shake his can of pepsi vigorously before handing it to hom.
I hope you told him, in that case next time you will simply leave out the meat...
oh, and the roma tomatoes were just amazing. i was walking past them, and the most wonderful smell of properly ripened tomato wafted by.
sounds delish.
fireflies. I definitely liked this grid.
WTG SPRITE!!!
apart from all the phantoms, i liked it too.
my turn to cook today and I am not really well yet, so I am gonna lie down before shopping. A big *hug* for you, and thanks again for the lovely flowers xxx
rest well my sweetie. xoxox love you.
ET 7/32 please?
Okay how about the ET 7/28 I am sure it has to be very similar?
One ends with "one who is" and one ends with a religion suffix
Thanks, Molly, looking...
Phew! Found them. Not seen those words in the grid before. Thanks once again :-)
I'm surprised they weren't in yesterday's grid. It had every other out in left field word in it.
lol
Good morning.
Hello, Sukee :-)
Hi zoo.
How are you today?
I am feeling great. I felt better as soon as I started taking these 2 pills.
Excellent!
Going out for breakfast today.
How are things with you? How is your weather? Cooling down here now after the 20s and raining.
Yes raining here too, Sukee. I am well thanks for asking :-)
Not looking forward to the colder temps.
Me neither, the snow and ice I can live without.
We did not get any snow here last winter so I am hoping it will be the same this year too.
Well, that is enough for me for now. Take care.
Have a great day, Sukee :-)
Good morning, everybodu
everybody*
howdy, all :-)
Howdy, Une
good morning all
Howdy, Judy :)
For anybody who would like a clue at any time, feel free to ask. There is no wrong way to play Babble. If there is someone who does not care for the amount of clues posted in the chog on any given day,the creator of babble has cleverly inserted a way to turn chat off, but still be able to play the game. Never be ashamed of asking for clues--ever. Most babblers do not have a problem with this--myself included. Just wanted to get that our for clarification :)
Just do not ask yet! lol I have only been playing this grid for a few minutes;)
I am proud of myself. I just got s 7/48 all on my own

TU 7 - never heard of it before but it is the only surviving rhynchocephalian.
one of the students here got angry with his dad, and decided to "get back" at him. The dad runs his own business, and had brought home a pouch containing the week's monies received. Which the son stole, brought to school, and spent an entire school day surreptitiously handing out money to DOZENS of kids. The school is asking any middle schoolers who received money to return it, saying they won't be in trouble, etc. etc.
was lurking, but that is a bizarre story, trif!
ty for clue.
amazing story trifioso. horrible that a child would not realize that the food he eats is from that parent he hates.....and bought with the money he handed out.

Oh
howdy folks, back after too much busy-ness with a nice glass of shiraz and ready to relax with Babble
Ooh which one
may be shocking to an oenophile, but Lindeman's Bin50 Shiraz, 2013 is hard to beat.. not expensive at all.. yet the flavors are great and it is one for the palate
may not be as smooth as the expensive ones I've had, but it is not "sharp" like some other expensive ones I've tasted
Good Evening All. How are you all this evening?
hi Nef, sipping along.. how are you?
I was sick (bad kidney infection); doing much better now; brain finally working right so just started the grid a few minutes ago.
And have ing a knee replaced next Wednesday (which I'm looking forward to!)
ooh, so sorry about your infection.. glad to hear that things are improving for you! Kidneys are so important and we tend to take them for granted. Whew!
I wouldn't wish a kidney infection on my worst enemy
ya6/27 anybody?
evening all!
egads, you have a full plate.. wishing you the best on your new knee !
hi dan2, sorry I don't have the ya6
Sorry, Dan, I don't have it yet either but am now looking for it

Sorry, Nancy, I don't have it yet, but will look
am way behind today.. Life keeps interrupting Babble

Well, thanks. Report cards were done at 3:30, and by 4:30 I was done getting ready for a pre-8 o'clock conference Monday morning. Lost my keys to the school, so I don't have a way to go in this weekend. Curse/blessing really, I have a great excuse to have a small mess Monday morning! :-)
ah, yes. and you survived the triple whammy this week!

ugh. Was looking in the wrong direction. thanks!
sorry, we are watching a movie and got caught up in the plot for a few.
what movie?
Interstellar. Saw it in the summer, but Tom got it on one of the services, too. It's a good movie.
saw it in imax. visually stunning, but confused. my opinion only
Some of it's great, some of it feels contrived. Thought the ending was really interesting.
i want to see the martian. and an animated movie anomalisa.
We were going to see it tonight, but it was late, and I was tired. We'll go sometime tomorrow or Sunday.
well, down to 90 and the movie is almost over. Have a great weekend. thanks for the U word. :-) *poof*
