good morning, mari
I've been alone, lurking
{{hugs}} my darling ruby.
((rosie!!))
(can't find the other brackets on this machine)
but lots of arcane symbols
lids
sorry, is there coffee in the PB?
how are you ruby??
freezig, sitting huddled in front of the fire, but the sun is iut, so it will warm up later
don't you have a hot water bottle?
how is your pain control going?
getting a little better, thanx. sweetie. how is your pain?
last time I used it, I had to chage the sheets, have been distrutful ever since
oh dear. not good.
It varies, day to day, but manageable
sorry about the typos
I have nbt but nothing bigger than a è (and not many of those)
i am going into hospital in 10 days for an overnight ketamine infusion. apparently it should last longer. it will be 12 weeks since i have had some ketamine by then. so the magnesium every 2 weeks is definitely helping.
7, need to shift on this keyboard to get numbers
can you sleep during the infusiin?
ruby, un8, 10, 9 combo. to take the sewing material out of the needle. present tense, past tense and plural.
ty, rosie, didn't even have the th6, duh me
lol...us5ly do so. and overnight allows me to go to sleep without the car journey home after it is finished.
sounds like a good plan!
how is burt coping with his new living arrangements?
wow! ty for those. Now I ha** nbt, nbs and 116 words
yay for ruby, she's the best. hurrah for ruby. she has stood the test....lollll
He doesn't understand where he is, so I've told him it's a special hotel for old people. He keeps falling and they've put his mattress on the floor, but I'm seeing the director about that today
nice poem
that's routine ruby. a mattress on the floor is the safest place for him.
We'v" been waiting almost " weeks for an Alzheimer's bed and at these prices! LOL
The problem is getting him up from there and the fact that he doesn't communicate much, just remains focused on moi!
3 weeks
it's hard i know, sweetie. every now and again pause, and take a deep breath. i know you needed everything yesterday.
at least he is in a good place now. you know that.
It's supposed to be the best place, but they don't even provide big towels
It's hard to imagine what the lesser places are like
the smaller towels are the norm dearest. it6 is all about the almighty dollar, you know th4. the larger towels would cost too much to launder and dry.
lolll please ignore the it6, it is supposed to be just ' it '
but this place is double the price of the one out in the country, but it had a one-year waiting list and this place is much closer
i know honey. again i say it is all about the money they can make. sad but true.
At least his rooml is lovely, even has a view
no balcony, though LOL
at the risk of being facetious does he notice the view?
No, but it makes me feel better...
*giggle* i thought so.
You know me too well
hey i had better.
Phantoms : Actual ; Distrusted.

((Ruby)) :-)
{{hugs}} zooz. how are you, and how are the parents?
Are you on the island with all the dinosaur fossils, zooz?
((Rose)) All well here thanks! Parents are well also. Thanks for asking. how are you keeping?
I am, Ruby there are lots of old people on this island LOL
Could not resist that one. Yes there are supposed to be lots of dinosaur bones here on the island. But I think they have got most of them in the museum now.
I Watch a lot of BBC news and they showed dinosaur footprints, but I couldn't remember which island you were on
Are you calling me a fossilk? LOL
LOL never, Ruby!
the law suit gets ever closer. pain doc is helping with pain management really well. and if i squint i can hardly see that christmas is just weeks away...loll
I think the one you are talking about is the new footprints on the isle of skye, Ruby.
yes,that's it
I think aussie should be accepted
There are 671.6 miles between the two islands. We are in the south isle of skye is way up north.
aah, so your weather is better
I bet you will be glad when that law suit will be over, Rose. Been dragging on for a long time now!
Yes, Ruby. it has been very mild for the time of year here. It is at the moment 13.3c here!
you got that in one, zooz. but we are gradually backing them into the corner.
Good for you, Rose. knock em out!
132 and see you later, kids
Bye for now, Ruby. Have a great day :--)
enjoy your lunch dearest ruby. xoxox
Rosie gave me the big words
oops I gave you a long nose lol
no i didn't. you worked them out on your own * innocent look *
I didn't eat yesterday's; it had mystery meat which I gave to the dogs
*giggle* you sound just like the MIL. her dog was so well fed.
That is naughty, Ruby. you need to be eating regular!
((zzoozz and rosie))
{{hugs}} my darling
I try, but can't seem to regain the lost weight
No but the dogs weight is staying up well??
I look like a Halloween leftover
stop cutting your toe-nails??
lol
They need extra food because it's so cold
yeah, yeah, ruby.
You will get like my father if you are not careful. He is so fussy on what he eats it is silly. He will only eat smashed potato beans and an egg all wound up in a heap. one big pile of gloop. Yuck!
No Sprite today then, Rose?
hokay, have had me pills. am in my jammies. my pillow is singing it's siren song. xoxox zooz. hope you have a great day. if you see the lovely sprite please give her a hug and a kiss from me. and of course, keep one of each for yourself.
no zooz. she has a training day.
Have a great nights sleep, Rose. If I am still here when , Sprite, come on here I will pass on the message :-)

Happy babbling fellow babblers!
Hello kids.
Good morning all.
How are you doing, sukee? Have you seen the cardiologist yet?
I'm doing well. I probably won't be able to see the cardiologist until January, I guess he is either busy or taking time off.
vats
Free clue.
TY :)
I almost kept going with a whole list of similar words.
I love that Y word :)
It is a neat structure. There is one at a nearby yoga studio.
That word is used frequently enough these days to not consider it a Babblet
Yes, not an odd word.
My dream is to go to Mongolia and sleep in one
Will you plan a trip to do that, Bichon, with Mr Bichon?
No, we are going to Iceland in Feb. and a Danube cruise in April
Iceland looks like a cool place.
Norther Lights
Does the Danube go through the Czech Republic?
No, we are ending the trip in either Nurenburg or Regensburg, but transferring to Prague for a couple of days
My friend has done several river cruises in Europe and her favorite city is Czesky Krumlov (? spelling)
This is a Jewish Heritage tour. We've been to Prague before, but not Budapest.
Well, enjoy both trips!

Nice.
Take care all.
Good morning everyone
Hi Car!
Phew, I passed halfway, and those last few were not easy. Now I must get ready for work. I am on call tonight so must deal with all of the triage nurses' problems and questions all day. *sigh* Enjoy the day.

Morning, all.
good morning mimi
doing better I hope?
di7?
((ruru))
Not really but thanks for asking. I do have news, though. I spoke to my biological half-sister yesterday for the first time in nearly 20 years.
wow
what happened?
Yep. We spoke a bit about our mother and she is now 84 and apparently nearly died from an abdominal aneurysm and is quite frail. Haven't had contact with her for about as long as my sister....there were "issues."
I have re9. help with other 9 pls
wow mimi, good for you
Too much to explain here (my life has always been complicated) but if you really want to know, send me an em and I'll fill you in. My em address is in my profile.
peri, un9 unravels
Flosey, we get to an age and maturity level where we just want to let things go and move on to what is really important.
mimi, that's amazig . . .
I have your email.. I understand if it is too much for here
duh, did not think to pl. ty Une
*amazing
yw:-)
understand, mimi and glad you were able to break the silence, hope it works well for you
re 8/50; re 9/66 - clues please
I never go on FB because I basically hate it but she went on and asked that I call her. I'm the eldest of the six and she's the youngest. She and I have different fathers from the other 4.
wow.. he got around your dad
I don't understand having multiple families (the concept)
but that's me
Me either but our mother started early at 19 with me and was already pregnant with my brother before her divorce was final from my bio father.
wow.. it took me two years to get divorced
did you stay in touch with your father?
I don't remember anything before age 5 (which was when she actually left and never came back) and my paternal grandmother and her fourth husband adopted me, so I was raised with my bio father as my brother. I'm my own sister and my own aunt. Told you it was complicated. I come from a long line of very "colorful" women.
I didn't know the truth about all this until I was 21 and my mother/grandmother died.
wow
your mom deserted you guys?
Always basically hated bio father/brother. Only person I've ever known who had NO redeeming qualities whatsoever.
I could introduce you to a few
All this will be in my book if I live long enough to finish it!
I can usually find something good even if it is a small thing, but not with him. He was a cruel, self-concerned and evil person. Glad I didn't know I was bio related to him until I became an adult.
No problems - found the re's
I didn't have them yet gran... sorry
keep plugging at it Mimi, your book could help many understand events of their own lives
we'll need a graph and chart to follow all the combinations of parents and siblings though mimi :D
I'm stuck on my last word, ke6, any clues please?
A friend said if it ever gets put into film form it will have to be a miniseries because there's just too much for one movie!
sounds like orange cheese in Boston Flosie Ke 6
thanks ru, looking
Don't want to keep monopolizing the chat so going to get breakfast and wait for my work to come through. HAGD, everyone! Hugs all around.

she didn't get her dress on time..... just trying to be funny and failing miserably, as per usual
well a lot of college's have a toga wearing day don't they?
please! At my daughter's college they have a "naked mile run" - she sent me pics, and I blurted out "you ran in flip flops??" and she laughed and replied "Really mum? THAT's your issue with it?"
ROTFL.. For some charity race women run in high heels in ny I think it is?
ugh - I would need charity after that!
yeah no kidding
I gtg eat nbt and nbs
That bottom left E was fun.
ha! just working on that one now
btw, red, I have a red shoe addiction also - even wore them under my wedding gown!
Yay for red shoes! I have to stop myself from buying them. I think I have 5 pairs, which isn't really THAT many, if you think about it. 2 pumps (which I bought for a friend's wedding), 1 ballet flats, 1 wedge sandal, and, of course, the sneakers in my profile pic. I'd love some red cowgirl boots.
I have my beloved red caprezios, and they pretty much take me through. I definitely have developed a converse problem - have maybe 10 pairs, between myself and the daughters
Oops...one more pair of wedge sandals, which were given to me, so they don't count. ;)
just treated myself to a truly fabulous pair of shoes PERFECT for my teaching job....waiting for them to arrive is AGONY
My cousin used to be the creative director on some Converse advertising. He created the Dwayne Wade design/campaign. Dwayne Wade had it stitched into his car's leather upholstery.
my goodness!
finished the lower e, yay me!
Here are some links you'll like to Converse stuff in Lisa Weedn's Etsy shop. She's one of my favorite artists. I met through the Etsy messaging system and we instantly knew we were kindred spirits. She even sent me the Kindred pillow! I had a pair of red sneakers kind of like high tops with small Velcro straps at the top of the at ankle or just above area
Oh, wait, I mean >8^|

I have no idea about the rankings - sorry.
I have no idea about the rankings - sorry.
You have to click REFRESH after you finish a grid. If you don't, there is a chance that your daily score will not be tabulated. This has happened to me before.
No dcseain I didn't miss any because of the holiday.
Molly - I never knew that.
So what do I do now Molly....I've never refreshed before.
Now, you will be at 1025 until you solve another 30 days of grids completely. That is what happens when you miss a day of not finishing. I would suggest not only refreshing when done, but refreshing while playing. The word list drops words if you don't.
I don't have a rEFRESH key?
Everyone has a refresh key. It's a part of your browser, not Babble.
You have never refreshed your screen on your computer?
NO...I have Restart on my browser but no Refresh.
Every browser has a refresh option. It usually looks like a round arrow icon at the top of your screen. CNTRL + F5 will also refresh your page.
I just did that and it said to leave a message but with no place to leave a message?
What? There is no option to leave a message when you refresh your screen. Perhaps you better get some help from someone who can show you how to use your computer.
Good Morning. I have had the same problem so, now, as a matter of course I always re-open Babble after finishing to make sure it still shows it as complete. If it really bugs you aeb, you could contact DrG and he would possibly adjust your rankings - you may need to identify what day/s are shown as incomplete (search via the archives)
I've been using Apple computers since 2006 and have never refreshed them.I have restarted them many times but never REFRESH.
i use F5 alone to refresh. macs may be different
From memory it is Control or the Apple Key and R
i should not say macs may be different. macs ARE different.
Good Evening. I've used Macs since 1993; and aeb, there is a refresh
gosh it must be more than 25 years when I first used a Mac - they were fun
hi nef, how are you today?
caddie caddis
sooorry
aeb' when you type in an address (i.e.: playbabble.com) in that box to the right you will find either an X or a circled arrow. hit the circled arrow
Hi TO. I keep saying I'm doing better & better every day! :-)
Aebmusica I looked at the archives for you and Monday 30th November you got 1375 points out of the 1587 points on offer.
THANK YOU NEF. Do you have to click this circle every time you finish a Babble grid?
and there is a View rankings explanation link at the top left of the rankings.
I don't pay attention to stats anymore; but it I find I'm losing words that I've already entered, then I refresh
Why didn't I get credit for all the points... I finished that grid, zooz?
Sometimes when you type in words & they disappear from your list then the grid will show that you've played and finished the grid but the count is wrong
No-one knows why the words don't 'stick' AEB - but it happens to all of us which is why we all refresh or something similar
I have on occassions thought I had finished and then found that I had not. It annoyed me very much but it looks like it happens to more babblers than I thought!
I have had that happen whilst playing and then I type them in again. But It showed Congratulations and fireworks for me on November 30th.
Always worth re-opening after you finish and make sure it is still complete
Well thank you all for your time and suggestions on this issue.
LOL! I just "entered" 5 or six 4 letter words in a hurry. Guess what? My mouse was not in either box! (Which is better than when I enter words in the Chog!)
Omenta is one of the words you were missing from the list, Aebmusica.
how cute that ad4.6 and its opposite de8.50 are in the grid
yes, thank you all. I had no idea why I was loosing words. I thought I was loosing my mind!
You will see congratulations and you will see fireworks. But if you don't refresh, you may not get your points tabulated. Lynnx's suggestion of closing out and going back in is very good, if you don't get the REFRESH thing.
Panne is another one. and probably more but It is taking too much time for me to search through lol
LOL so it is, Lynxxx :-)
now I am losing my mind de8 is so NOT the opposite of ad4
BBL
Molly, Abemusica did say she had fireworks on that day.
Thanks for the clues, lynxxx. that helps when I/m just starting.
Oh i see what you mean now :-)
I know Zoom. And I'm saying you will see fireworks and you will think you are finished, but if you don't REFRESH, you might lose that day
zooz I did put in Omenta and I even looked up the definition because I hadn't ever seen this word before(a fold in the stomach organ or something like that).
Yes sorry I got it now, Molly :-)
I just refreshed so my points should be tabulated for today at least.
I believe you, Aebmusica. Was just trying to find which words it was saying you had not entered. I think the idea of when you have finished. Close babble down and then restart it again later and see if it has entered all your words.
Zoom how can you tell what word she was missing on what day?
Yes how can one tell?
I clicked on the archive, Molly then went to aebmusica and clicked on the name so her word lsit she entered comes up. then went to a babbler who had the full points score and checked against their list to see which words were missing from aebmusicas list.
I got to the word panne which was missing from aebmusicas lsit and did not want to check anymore as it was taking a long time to see lol
WOW! zooz...you did all that fro me? Thank you!
Did any of that make any sense?
Of course, Aeb, you are a fellow babbler :-)
Yes And I did enter panne also ...I do know that word!
That sounds like WORK, zoo! Nice to know how to do it!
Well I am glad it was not a list of say that 744 grid some years ago. I would not want to check through that one lol
Wow Zoom, you are quiet the sleuth. I had no idea you could check another person's word list.
So one last question... all the words that the archives say were not counted, that I entered, are lost pointless forever? It is just I was so proud to have made it to the 1030's group 3 months ago that I was upset for the listing loss. I don't just play Babble for the points but because I love words and the challenge and all my fellow Babblers!
The thing is, after your points are tabulated, there is no way to go back and say "I entered that word".
If I knew I could not do babble for what ever reason I am okay with that. I get annoyed if I am sure I completed the grid and found I had not.
Ditto zooz!
Just for the record, I don't think it's Dr. God who keeps track of the rankings.
Yes, Aeb. there is no way of getting those points back. Unless Dr God maybe can decide to add then for you.
Well Dr God did one time scrub a day of babble points as for some babblers could not log on on that day!
Well I DID finish todays and I refreshed so I will go on from there!
Congrats on your fireworks for today, Aebmusica!!
Yes, and all the people who finished that day lost their status. I don't think that was a really fair thing to do.
WTG,aeb!!! Congrats on fireworks!
Thanks Nef!
thanks zooz!
That's one of those "danged if you do & danged if you don't" challenges, Molly.
I would so love if you could do past babble grids like you can do with the iron sudoku website run by Dr. God.
Oh, Man! I am freezing right now! I need to see if the thermostat is set right. BBS
I don't have a problem with the whole day being a wash. But everyone's point values dropped because of that. Whoever tabulates rankings didn't do it the right way for that day.
i think it is a program
Try and keep warm, Nef!
Well, if it is a program, and a whole day was discounted, then the rankings for the next day would be the same. They were not. It was as if no one finished the grid.
perhaps he suspended the program run for that day. i used to be fanatical about stats, but now i do not care
Good morning, all
TO - we loved your olive oil, sea salt brownie cookies - so did our friends. Thanks for the recipe.
I'm not fanatical about stats. I am a little anal about code in web page programs that is not adjusted to reflect changes though.
help with 2nd st6/21 pls
st + littlest one of the litter
st + the weakest member of a litter
th 6/30 pls?
TH + warehouse music acid!!!!!
th + ra4/7
th + rant and....
Thanks - didn't think of even trying that.
Warehouse music acid?
oh liz, i am so glad! ty for taking the time to let me know
It took a while before I made them - but it was well worth it, when I did.
people sort of say huh?when they hear about them. i did as well
warehouses where illegal house paries were held also know as Ra** music!
They sounded good to me - but we don't really eat many cakes and biscuits, so I needed an occasion to make them.
I'm not a big fan of cookies made with olive oil. I like cookies made with butter.
not too sweet. very ricj
Yes, Zooz - I liked the clue - they all helped.
True, TO - I'd make them smaller next time.
there is just something, for me, about dark chocolate and olive oil. i have made a pound cake with olive oil and that was good. not a butter one,but good.
did you cut down the amount of chips in them?
No - probably put more!
Every clue, and every recipe, is sacred : D
lol
And the salt was a wonderful touch. I used a mix of white and dark chips
lol Molly!
so you used the original recipe then?
oh no, recipes are to be tweaked, as are clues
I knew you would get the clue, Liz :-) the explanation was for, Molly. As she did aske what it was :-)
I don't know! I used the recipe I copied from your profile - but things are labelled a bit differently here. Didn't know what semi sweet chips were but figured I'd use a mix I liked.
I got the warehouse part. It was the acid part I was wondering about.
semi sweet is what you would use in toll house chocolate chips cookies.
Also had to work out what baking soda was - bicarbonate of soda here.
And yes, recipes are for tweaking. I do that all the time.
I've never seen semi sweet chips.
do you have chocolate chip cookies?
TO...*gasp*...they know not of Toll House cookies over there.
oh, now i want to bake some. :/
Yes - though I haven't bought any for years.
Never heard of Toll House cookies. We have Byron Bay Cookies :)
ah, an international incident! those ugly Americans!
Fireworks
yay!!!
It amazes me that bicarbonate of soda and baking soda are not interchangeable internationally. Especially with all of the internet recipes being exchanged.
i did not know that. do they not use it, or use something else?
They were directly interchangeable - it was just the name that threw me. I wasn't sure whether to use bicarb or baking powder.
They use it, they just call it something else.
Google to the rescue!
Actually, baking soda is bicarbonate of soda. We just shortened the name for ease.
We also don't have kosher salt here - sea salt, rock salt but not kosher salt. How can salt be kosher?
And flour - I have to work out whether to use plain flour or self raising flour. It always amazes me how one language can mean so many different things in different places.
Wow, I know how salt can be Kosher. There is a reason my friends consider me an "honorary Jew".
So explain, please.
Any good recipe will specify self-rising flour if it is called for. Our biscuits (not your cookies) call for self-rising flour.
And you say self rising - we say self rAising - :)
I was on the phone, did I miss a clue for the 2nd st6/21?
st + weakest member of the litter
ty Liz, new word for me
Me too. A couple of new words for me in the grid.
hello...
hi pen
OK Molly, so I googled kosher salt. It's not that the salt is kosher - more about its primary purpose in koshering meat.
Hi pen.
and it is coarser than table salt
Yes, that's what I read.
So, I guess I should get my day started. Have a good evening everyone.
Yes, that is why it is called Kosher salt, because it is the form of salt used in koshering meat.
And thanks for the chat.
th6/30 pls. I do not see it in morewords
th + rant and ... - another new word for me.
I guess we should call it self koshering salt : D
new word for me too, ty Liz
Or bikosherate of salt : D
fw, bye for now
lol Molly - really going now. congrats, Peri
George Bernard Shaw would be proud :)
Good evening, everybody :)
bye liz. going to rustle up some grub
evening crossy, all
wow! before you know it, Dan, she will be teen2bit :)
srsly
tonight's quote was "No, Daddy, you've lost your mind like you're a crazy person, not you've lost your mind like you left it somewhere else."
on that note, this is possibly a good group to ask - fun language games/apps for precocious kindergartners not quite ready for Babble?
mmm.. thinking on that one... what about Bookworm. it will grow with her.
it is something the two of you can do together.
or Bookworm Adventures. it has more of a story line
if you want to check it out, dan, i have a digital copy of the basic bookworm i can send you gratis.
that would be lovely, crossy. I am also dan2bit on the popular google mail service
ok, I will send it alnong now for you
thank you!
Be just another moment, dan, even when compressed, it is a largish file. Just use Winzip. or 7-zip and extract it to your desktop once you get it.
windows app?
(not that there's anything wrong with that ;-) )
yes, it is a windows app.
I am sending it trough Wetransfer site. it is a very good place to move larger files.
gotcha
ok, dan. should be in your in box in the next minute or so.
You may find the game quite addictive yourself :)
downloaded, thank you - will try it out when I can install it on the wife's laptop
<-- mac guy, but still somewhat ambidextrous
I do not know if they make the game for mac. :(
I am sure there are mac emulators
appreciate it anyway

Tell miss2bit when she starts playing it that I spelled "rhinosourcicus" on that game once :)
