ruru, an6/18
oh... thanks
didn't look up
ka6/7 rhyme with pl_____ fascitis, or pl_____ warts
ta6/7 is the one that is ... like sting, according to the barenaked ladies' "one week"
other ta7 = brown from the sun + mr. silver the stats guru
there, those should all be easily googlable if you don't know 'em
ty for the ka -- no idea who mr. silver is and don't listen to rock music

Morning, sprite
hi peach :)
How is your day going?
it just started. Almost 9 am here.
I forgot the time difference.
it is not easy, keeping up with all the time zones in babble :)
ks killed
SPRITELY!!!!!!! *bounce bounce bounce bounce bounce*
how are you doing, peach?
ohhhhhh stiddie!!!!!!!!!!! *hugs* Omg that has been soooo long! How are you?
Just trying to keep warm, sprite.
*sends peach a cuddly blanket and soft warm socks*
Thanks, hon.
I am feeling like I have a very mild case of the flu -- enough to be lazy and cranky all day, but not bad enough to see a doc. LOVE teaching when I am with the kids, not so enthusiastic when I am at home and still thinking about it. MISS YOU and peach and all the gang now that I usually need to be asleep at decent hours...
did you get snow, peach? I know seain and jmc and several others are pretty snowed in
how are you sprite? My kiddos are now officially ADULTS (my "baby" Gr5 will be 21 next month). I feel so OLD.
miss you too, stiddie. Lots. Glad you still enjoy teaching! Though I hear you... getting started and going takes a lot of energy. Blech @ the flu. Lots of fluids and rest, ya hear!
*giggles* You are not old, silly. Just experienced. Mature. Interesting. Never old. Woooot all kids grown. I am getting there. My girl will be 18 next month, and my boy 20 in May. I am fine.
:-D nice to get them to that point, isn't it?
out of therapy for second winter now, and still going strong, no depressions, nothing. Losing weight after gastric bypass, it is all going ok. Kids are well, husband is well.
oh yes, it is. My girl will leave home next school year, she is going to an international university at the other side of the country. Will miss her, but yeah, it is a good thing they are becoming independent.
wow -- lots of change for you! Enjoy the time with your daughter, I know you will miss her when she goes to school, but she'll be back (probably a lot) to visit!
I am sure she will be. Now for our son to follow her example, lolol. He is in his first year at the university, but wants to stay at home. Too lazy to take care of himself.
anyone wanna tell the americans that wanna is not a word?
Ah, it can take boys a little longer. Grant still lives with us, but has a job and is mostly independent. I still love having him at home though...
if it was the other way around, I wouldn't feel the same way. Caya pulls her own weight, no problem. Tim, not so much. Still needs lots of prodding and reminding to just do his few tasks. But at least the fights have diminished.
Glad it's getting less fractious for you -- I think it just takes boys a little longer to grow into maturity for some reason. There are some hard lessons they have to learn along the way.
I think that is true. Well, I love both to pieces and am still willing to do the parenting thing when needed, grin.
:-D
well, down to 40 and NBT so I think I will go to sleep. It's Past midnight here. ((hugs)) So glad to have a chance to catch up with you. My gmail account still works (hint hint) I am not sure what your email is at the moment. Have a wonderful new year if I don't get to see you for a while. *poof*
love and hugs, stiddie. Lovely to see you again. My email is in my profile.
100 words in and afk for a few minutes to get meds and breakfast
back
{{hugs}} and cooee dearest sprite. how was your noght?
hey sweetie, was missing you. Where did you go? :) My night was okayish. How was your day?
had a nap....i hope i can sleep later but i was totally whacked.
aw *hugs* Glad you had a nap. Makes a lot of difference, doesn't it.
lovely day, church first thing, then a chat with the vicar after while don fiddled with the new tv and a video camera. lunch out, then home to sit quietly.
oh sounds very good indeed.
what plans do you have for today sweetie?
more pasting of photos. Shower and washing of hair. Laundry.
fireflies
an at home day then without too much on the agenda. and time for a nap too. *grin*
oh yes, I intend to have a nice nap later on :)
a big *hug* for you, darling. Have a lovely evening and sleep well tonight. Hope to see you tomorrow!
xoxox honey. enjoy your day. {{hugs}}

Good morning everyone (anyone?)
This shaping up to be a great day! I hope everybody on the US east coast is warm and dry and has food stocked up
Hello, Ruby :-)
Good morning all.
Hello, Sukee :-)
nbt, how are you zoo? Better late than never.
Starting to get over my cold now. How are you?
36 left here, just starting on thr T under the K :-)
Not bad, still congested myself. But I think it's partly allergies.
How are your kitties getting on?
Great, we are in a regular rhythm now :)
Good to hear :-)
They take turns cuddling with me too.
How about your weather getting anything like the east coast of America?
Aww sounds nice :-)
Nope, it completely missed us. There are flurries in the forecast but less than 1 cm expected.
Ha 1cm here would be a snow storm lol
Right now the sky is clear
stats for first column g, pls
gy 6/30
We were spared the brunt of the storm too. About 6"
It has gone really mild again here today is 13.7c/ 56.66F
Hi bich.
We got 24" on Long Island...
ty sukee
Shoveling paths for the dogs all day :)
<---Dreams of a 56 degree day without three feet of snow to shovel
Wow now that is a huge amount!
That is a lot :)
Where on the Island are you Jeff?
I checked, 60cm :)
Patchogue, Central Suffolk
I so wanted to say on the long bit of the island LOL
:)
I grew up in Queens County.
Sorry silly Brit sense of humour.
Hello, Molly :-)
Hope you are all keeping nice and warm and have plenty of supplies stocked up.
I suppose the next stage to watch out for is when the snow melts.
good morning
Hello, Snowy, Annie :-)
Hi Annie.
:) Hi zooz
How is it on the 23rd floor?
It really is beautiful. We have a full moon and it is right outside my bedroom window.
Wow hope you take a picture of it, Annie!
They closed the interstate last night to all vehicles except emergency vehicles. I don't remember ever hearing about that happening. It's so bad that the plows can't get out.
I will.
Molly, you got walloped. Are you okay?
Everything was closed here except the underground subway.
We are fine. I am deeply grateful that we didn't lose power. A bit daunted by the idea of digging my car out though.
I think they are calling it a 1/100 year event.
Yes, I dread that also. Bobby will help me.
I'm off to make some breakfast, be back soon.
I guess it's not worthwhile for you to get a snowblower Molly
No good digging it out if the roads are still a no go area!
enjoy, sukee
I have a big, strong son to help me too. But even with two of us, it's going to take a long time.
Please be careful, Molly
I live in a condo Bich. No place to store one and it would be a huge pain to run an extension cord as far as I would have to run it.
Do bosses still pay you for events like this or is it just tough poo no work no pay?
It depends on how you are paid Zoom. If you have a decent boss, yes. If you have a miserly, cheap ass one, no.
Yeah true.
For instance, my company closed at noon on Friday. Everyone who is salaried will get paid for the whole day. Hourly employees will only get paid for half a day.
Where I worked a long time ago now. If I was ill and took time off we got paid more. The reason being that there was no tax ta5 out of the pay for when you are ill.
That sounds fair enough to me,Molly.
I don't see the "fair" in everyone gets to go home early and some people get paid for that and others do not.
I took it that the people who are salaried are the full time workers of the company and the hourly paid workers are like self employed so are not under the same company rules.
As in they are self employed.
No, they are all full-time employees. Some get paid by the hour, and some just get a set salary every two weeks.
Ah now I understand.
It is a way to differentiate the peons from the upper echelon.
what kind of firm is it?
I suppose if you are on a salaried wage you can not get over-time pay as if you were paid by the hour well you get paid any over time hours you work.
General Contractor Annie. Zoom, that is correct. Hourly workers are made salaried very quickly once they start working over-time.
I always thought you worked for a recording company.
Recording company? I wish. Surely there would be better money in that kind of work.
And fun too.
I've been in a recording studio. It's tough work and long hours.
good morning, and tadone! that was a fun grid. how is everyone in the midst of winter storm Jonas?
Congrats, Dawg!
I've noticed that even the broadcast people are ignoring the name Jonas. I wish they would quit naming every storm that comes along.
We have started doing that here too.
That storm is supposed to be over in the UK in a few days time. I wonder if it will still be called Jonas.
I'm with you, Molly. The naming started last year by the Bozeman High school science classes. Just something to pass the time and they sent the idea and a list to the weather channel.
Just naming the big ones, mind you. They started out with Greek names, now these...not sure what the genre is.
Probaly the name of the person who first notices that it is going to be a storm.
I'll bet they have to be very careful of the ethnicity of the names -- no Hurrican Mohammed, for example.
And hello
Hello, Ruby :-)
I wtched <CNN for hours yesterday, thinking about friends and family on the east coast.
And I was worried about my sister in Queens
Molly, I'dlike to see a picture of you as a snow angel!
ouh oh, the dog alarm is sounding....
Dinner has arrived, Ruby :-)
not on Sundays, unfortunately
Oh.
Anyone who didn't take "stock up" seriously will probably regret it. It's going to take days for delivery trucks to be able to get to the stores and restock them.
My mother used tomake me snow ice cream with maple syrup even though we had a candy store with the real stuff
Hi ruby, memories of the old country?
yes, Bichon, it's crazy to miss my mother after so many years have passed
alerts out not to make snow ice cream. the snow isn't clean due to all the pollution in the air.
Did nybody see the video o the DC panda Rolling around in the snow?
Yes it was enjoying itself!
that is very sad, IBD, happily, I was a kid a oloooong time ago!
ஜ۩۞۩ஜ F.I.R.E.W.O.R.K.S ஜ۩۞۩ஜ
there goes Mr. Zmary Pants!
I am sure the air pollution was worse when we were children.
(couldn't even type my mild joke properly....)
lol
you think so, zzoozz? really?
Before running water, people used to drink water of dubious make up.
I remeber many years ago we were talking about the damage acid rain was causing.
Here, the air is very clean except when the South Wind brings Saharan sand which can make the snow yellow
We had lots of coal polluting chimneys every where.
I think in large parts of the worold, people still do. I guess what doesn't kill you makes you stronger??
We are no where near being as clean as we could be but we have sort of made an effort.
Or ill, ruby.
Aaah, I didn't think of English coal pollution problems
Well I had better go and buy some food before I starve. Happy babbling everyone!
Many thanks for the chat babblers :-)
((zzoozz))
bye kids, see you lter
later, Ruby, and I'm off too for a while. enjoy your day everyone!
good morning all! happy #digoutday
hey dan et al!
BRB
I'm in no hurry to gig out. There is nowhere to go, everything is closed and may remain that way through the day.
Or dig out
and we here in western new york didnt get any snow.now that is a big change
Amazing Ivesy. You are usually the ones dealing with it all winter.
There is an entire convention of birds on my patio. I think the bird grapevine has spread the word that I put out seed.
right! seems odd. but i will live with it lol
My last word was sn6/36 LOL
i fully admit that shoveling the drive is all about my own feeling less trapped, not about wanting to go anywhere today
Anything that makes you feel less trapped is good.
We are all just prisoners here Of our own device
hello dear friends
good morning folks
origami, i really like that poem you have on your profile
Yes, I really like his works. Feeling OK this morning Trif?
yes, why?
Sorry, meant "doing" OK ... weather and all.
oh good ness, we only got about four inches...hardly worth shoveling
got more than 2 feet of snow here
Ha! I thought "feeling okay" was in response to the drunk babble playing last night. : D
Oh, yes. I forgot that was trif :D
good morning
morning car

You made a guest appearance in chat :D

Maybe post a profile on hotchicks.com? : D
BWahahahahah
I drove tertiare home from work in the harrowing snow -- it was really bad out....then made chicken parm and cracked a bottle of wine. whilch I guess I drank more of than I realized
looked like you'd been mainlining the vino! LOL
the chicken parm was delicious, so at least there is that.
halfway!
go harry!
I'm actually laughing out loud!!
hello...stats for the lone left G pls
....and with soodle chiming in, I am now an international disgrace.
WTG Harry
what one does when one twerks
you always wanted to be an international sensation...
(I think - it's kind of what miley cyrus does when she dances)
oh my god. I think I was twerking in the kitchen last night....i just rememberd.....
that is NOT dancing
twerk
Is the twerking in reference to trif or phae's stat request :D
yes trif - we all saw the video
International sensation, Trif. I'm only sorry I missed your drunkety drunk guest appearance.
ahhh...the roar of the snowblower....
clue for the an6/18......please
oh GAWD
that will be me in a few minutes, car....
Is the video up in the babble facebook page yet?
my neighbor did our sidewalk with his snowblower - but I'm embarrassed so I went over it with a shovel to erase the tracks :)
we are actually going cross country skiing after breakfast. i have never done it before....
Why embarassed? That's a nice gesture!
Have fun trif!
For those of you who are snowed in, here is a craft idea... http://tinyurl.com/hj6xcla
oh yes he's wonderful and saved me last year by blowing out our curb where the plows had compacted the snow
god that snow is bright....
clue for the an6/18......please
but I hate snowblowers. and I like the sidewalks clean, so I just go over mine and his and that has the additional benefit of pretending that I shoveled them.
that is lovely molly!
I do shovel our driveway and walk myself :)
I dont' have it as yet aeb, I am sorry
If I had the spray paint, it would look great on the border of my patio that has a three foot wall of snow across it.
looking aeb...
what state do you live in molly?
I don't think you need paint paint, I think you can do it with colored cold water and a spray bottle
an6 must be from teh bottom A - I've got all the top As
an + B**jamin Franklin + abbrev for street
Okay. You know the 1st three letters + a birds home without a vowel.
ty une
nice one une!!!
OK...have to brush off car to get Dylan to a B'day party. Back in a bit.
:-)
oh ty une I've been trying to find that for 25minutes
yw :-)
im off to make breakfast....love to all
please forgive me
happy skiing trif
nothing to forgive
ty Une
Forgive you? Seriously Trif? Not a problem. And trust me, you are not the only one I have seen here while they were intoxicated.
I'm actually kind of impressed that you could spell drunkety drunk drunk correctly. : D
Enable can often drive babblers to drink. ;)
ta 7/28, both of them, pls

Good morning, all. Bless our dear neighbor. He is snow-blowing our driveway! We're free!
hi judi
ty une
ahhh...now I understand all the 'twerk' clues.
About 4' of snow at end of driveway where plow went by. Pffth. Only about 28" in the rest of the drive. Well, at least now I can grocery shopping.
end of the driveway is killer - that's what gets my back
can I get a clue for the gy word please?
twist like elvis, mlf
ah ty welk
a quote: I don't like being called Elvis The Pelvis. That's gotta be one of the most childish expressions I've ever heard coming from an adult.
more eloquent than most elvis quotes
bet he liked the paycheques. could have always taken his hips and gone home.
nbt and nbs
in graceland, the tvs were set up so you could see a screen from anywhere in the house.
us5...clue please
Criminally high interest rate, abe.
I went to a museum in East Tupelo MS where he was born - there were some Elvis books there, and a sign next to them that said "Please do not read books"
ha! that's pretty funny - do not read books :D
pb judi
i did the Elvis pilgrimage as well
never mind
jan did you take the natchez trace parkway down there?
Oh, fudge.
wow - I actually did not have that ra4/4
yep
doesn't the us5 require two Us?
yes
yes for judi's hint
hi blah
Finished! Clues anyone?
hi mlf, how goes it today?
us + abbrev. for the org. that sponsors music/dance on pbs
I take it all back. *slinks off to not read Elvis's books*
aah ty welki
not too bad blah I have not been up that long but do have nbt and nbs .. sun is out today
Just waiting for NFL football to start
Well then, see you all tomorrow.
bye gramma
32 to go here - bbl - gotta get these lab reports graded
bye hary
Hmm, the games don't start here until 3 PM
that's right Molly and the Pat's game is the first one
Off to grocery shop. Hopefully there will be some food on the shelves.
bye judi
You must not have gotten as much snow as we did Judi. No stores around here are open.
And even if they were, the interstates are closed, so no delivery trucks can get to them anyway.
molly how much plowing was done near you?
None. The plows can't get out. I doubt we will see a plow today either. The overly ambitious in my development have their parking spaces dug out to an unplowed street. Good luck with that.
molly uggh.. how high is the temps going to get up to there today?
Oh, I think 30 might be the high with lower wind chills. It's not going to be "normal" around here for several days.
what is "normal" in northern va or the Washington metro area?lol
This area does not stay prepared for storms of this magnitude. They just don't happen here very often.
hi all
hi jmc
I fully expect most things to be closed tomorrow as well.
i would really hate my tax dollars being spent on equipment used once a decade
molly, do you have "cabin fever" yet?
how about you jmc?
no cabin fever here. . . i am easily self entertained
jmc that is a good thing:)
NYC got 30 inches of snow I bet it's a mess
I'm easily self entertained too :D
ruru I bet they are shut down big time
my BF is there for a trade show. it took him quite a while to walk back to his hotel after they shut down the roads.
Hello!
hello...
the thing about 30 inches of snow is that you really can't do that much so you might as well chill out. . .
hi hego
hi hego!
blah wow
hi pen
NYC is great after a big snow. Quiet and peaceful.
Hi JMC!!
yeah i suspect he made a few stops along the way to "warm up" ;)
How are you?
lol Blah
if its possible to do so with that much snow sheesh
oops sorry, was cleaning off my keyboard lol
(penny for your thoughts there)
gee we thought you might have fallen asleep blah lol
haha my hubby had to walk home from the courthouse once during a big snow storm. . . .5 miles up hill. . . and he would call me from each bar as he progressed. . . he was quite warmed up when he finally got home. . .
nodded out.
at least blah didn't blame the cat!
lol
He was numb by time he got home.
from the snow or the booze. . . hahaha
(wondering if ru's form of self-entertainment is the same as jmc's)
jmc gee that much have been fun for you?
I'm not saying a word :D
blah I don't think so
me neither mlf :)
god i hope ru and my entertainment are not the same. . .
:)
This IS my self entertainment.
i can always read. . . .
you'd have to be more twisted JMC than you already are :D
babble does help keep me amused. . . .
thank god you all have power too
bet it's cold back there too huh?
I was really worried about the power.
did you get a lot of snow hego?
28 by my outside thermometer.
the sun feels good. . . no wind. . . so not too bad at all. . .
oooh..
18 inches, they say.
Isn't it always 5 miles and uphill in those stories?
they certainly had us warned to death about the power being out for a week. . .
(barefeet too don't forget those too molly)
Shame on me, I forgot barefoot.
forecast here today is 64 f degrees and sunny :)
true molls but in this case since I live in the higher point in DC and the courthouse is down at the lower point. . . .
jmc lots of sunshine here too
not barefoot. . . he was at court. . . he had his wingtips on. . . .
oh my dad wore wingtips
the nerdiest shoes ever
I hate to actually say this, because as soon as I do the power will go out...but...I think PEPCO has made big improvements since the last few major outage times in our area.
I remember those.
are those pointed toed shoes?
oh those are perfect for walking in snow ;P
no not pointed
It also helped A LOT that this was light, fluffy snow and not the icy, heavy kind.
no they ate the ones with the little holes on them
we had ice and sleet yesterday
We have no wires in our complex, but if a transformer goes out, it's all aver.
There are pointed toe shoes for men? I thought only women wore those witchy looking things.
yes i was sooooo happy when i was shoveling the wet stuff they promised never came to pass. . .
<---is glad he lives in a warmer climate
the holes are decorative and don't go all the way thru. . . .
Moly trust me males do too
my BF was wearing dress shoes also. he called all over the city to find totes (yes they still make those) but everyone was sold out
ruru come on we know you are jealous of us lol
shoes like this http://tinyurl.com/j3mua2v
I have a ho4 that ends with a vowel what does the other ho 4 end with?
I used to call wing tips "lawyer shoes"
i like living where there are changes in weather. . .
My deceased husband wore them.
the men's pointed shows I see do look like witches shoes as they usually have a huge buckle on them
well he was a lawyer! haha
Me too jmc.
jmc I love 4 seasons:)
There are three seasons I like. I could do without this one.
i am even more glad that these storms are about once a decade. . . that is often enough for me. . .
There are seasons here also, just swings from mild winters to ghastly hot summers.
true, but if you have no winter, you can't have spring.
lol same here hego
I hate summer, the humidity kills me
Um, Spring comes to all parts of the country.
Mr. Bich out with the snow blower, no worries
we had some really high temps last summer
Not the way we experience it.
but as we love to remind our northern friends, you don't have to shovel sunshine :)
yes. . . it is wonderful to see the crocus peeping up under the snow. . . unfortunately they will have to wait a whie this year
I hate heat and humidity also.
I saw a picture of a snow bound parking lot with the caption "make friends with your neighbor who has a snow blower"
spring barely exists in texas. . . and i imagine not at all in hawaii. . . .
lol
summer winter and fall?
i fortunately made friends with my neighbor with a snow shovel. . . .
blah, summer outside of air conditioning must be hell
blossoms and daffodils. Ah
actually bichon i don't have a/c in my house. . . .
i have ceiling fans. . . .
spring starts here in mid-Feb and ends in April
i have a small a/c in my kitchen for cooking in august. . .
So do I and ceiling fans
When I was younger (and in my prime) I used to flirt with the plow drivers and could usually get one of them to plow out my parking spot. Now...I wish I had a 24-year-old daughter to do that for me.
Spring in feb must me nice?
yeah it can get pretty hot in the summer...here we say make friends with a neighbor with a pool :D
no ceiling fans here
in houston we used to joke about the biannual open window day. . . one day in the spring and one day in the fall. . .
blah rotfl
blah, where are you.
Jumping into a pool when it's so hot is nice
jmc only two days a year?
yep. . . .
I gtg eat I will be back
Oh gross. I would not do well in an area where you could not get fresh air in the house on a regular basis.
We can at least open the windows after 10 pm most nights here
Is there any fresh air in the northeast corridor?
i was always confused in the fall at school when we were told to color the fall leafs. . . they went from green to brown and crispy when the winter came. . .
i've lived here for almost 8 years and have not once opened my windows.
Where?
well i didnt use a/c much in Houston either. . . but most people go from heating to a/c without missing a beat. . .
Dallas
i rest my case. . . .
I hardly ever open windows.
tries to imagine molly flirting with plow drivers
yeah jmc often on the same day
We have windows open in nice weather, except when the AC is on.
i often sleep bundled up with the window open in the winter here. . .
Molly: "I bet you know how to move all that heavy equipment don't you? " (bats eyes)
Yeah, that part of Texas has such variable weather. My grandfather used to say if you don't like the weather just wait an hour.
hehehe
Yes, I have great lines about hydraulics too.
lol
the other expression is that nobody predicts weather in texas except damn fools and yankees. . .
I had a friend who told me that I was a hothouse flower and had to be kept at just the right temp at all times.
lol Ruru
lol our 'good' days are when you need neither heat nor AC to be comfortable...saving all that $$$
LOL hego
:)
I like warmer weather personally
my bedroom growing up had the (unvented) clothes dryer so i got privacy by sitting in my room when it was on. . . even in august
I can sleep on a cool Fall night with the windows open, but not when it gets below 30 degrees.
You have no humidity Ru, so it's okay.
my good days are when teh sun shines and makes electricity for me with my solar panels
i can get much below 30 either when i close the windows. . . but sometimes i leave it open just a tiny crack. . .
hello all. my car is blocked in but I do not care. not going anywhere today or tomorrow
was that humidity or humilty hego?
help with an6/18 pls
hi peri
Hi Peri
I will finally have my own swimming pool for this upcoming summer
The windows get opened here every day no matter how cold it is. Just for a while. I can't handle the constant canned air.
ooooo digging deep ru?
Ru, that's great!!
I would love to have my own swimming pool. As long as I could have a pool crew to maintain it.
nm
it's going to be a smaller pool.. mostly for cooling off on the hottest days
I don't want a big large pool
it's going to be solar heated
i was thinking a hot tub on the roof would be nice. . . but i could get to it today. . .
I'm going to have some hot cabana girl take care of the pool molly
dreaming agian...
again
well.. maybe a little
;)
Cabana girl to ru: "did you say your name was ohohrocks?"
lol
cabana girl to ru: how does that warm water feels grandpa?
lmao
is there a gy word?
ruru to hot cabana girl: I was in the pool!
gy 6/30...
gy6/30
ty ty
yes, some end that way
duh! a fish. . .
grandpa indeed ! :D
and that
Poor Ru
hahaha. . . you need some help out of the pool?
(weeps silently)
*hands ru a towel*
(sniffle)
there. . . there. . .it was just a little joke among friends. . .
Men hate reality.
(honk! blows nose)
you can keep the towel. . . .
there, there
I hope I start dating a nice attractive 50 year old woman just to piss you guys off
haha i would be delighted for you ru. . .
I hope so too. Really!
nbt finally
i wouldn't even make a joke about being a cradle robber. . . .
(angels descend from heaven to blow trumpets for JMC)
is my halo on straight?
never
the horns always keep the halo slightly off center
<---Bets heavily on the attractive woman in Ru's life
:)
:D
Oh I hope so Molly.. that would be nice
hehe well i am happy i'm a well rounded person
someone who likes to travel and have fun, likes dogs, and good food, and other entertainments :D
It will come in time. Most well adjusted people don't jump right back on the dating bandwagon after the end of a significant relationship.
she would be lucky to have you Ru.
well.. I have taken a long break molly already :D
it will be better when I have my own house and can invite people over
He'll cook for them. Girls are a pushover for that.
A long break is good. You need time to resolve one past relationship before you jump into the next one.
I do agree with that
My pet-sitters think I'm a gourmet cook
:D
I think Ru would have fun if he got involved with a woman who likes to cook. It gets old being the only one who works the kitchen.
Most folks don't know what a gourmet cook is.
Um sir...you have cooked with Mr. Puck. I think you rank up there.
Hello
hi christa
Puck qualifies.
I didn't cook with him.. but I did a few dinners with him (I did the wine)
Hi Christa.
Mini Schwartzneggar
I'd love to cook with him someday though.. he's hysterically funny in the kitchen
well he probably knew you would do a good job picking the wine. . .
help with first ta7 pls
Ah, my mistake. I thought you cooked with him. Regardless, I can tell by what I have heard from you that you are top shelf when it comes to cooking.
it's kind of easy to be a good cook if you love to do it.
no idea sorry peri
true
But still, a lot to learn.
still looking peri
oh endless learning
techniques alone.
I'm going to make those apple roses that jilli had on facebook .. they look awesome
ta 7 color uou get from the sun + *** Hawthorne
the only kind ru. . . when you stop learning you die. . . .
I have the one which is a color plus short for nathaniel
ty bichon
can I get a clue for the other ta7 please?
yw peri
ty mlf
I'm planning to take a couple cooking classes this spring at a local school
I saw that, ruru, they did look awesome. I may try that too
yw hego
You have CIA right down the road.
do you have the 6/18, if not it starts the same way +I like to ***VEL TO eUROPE
yes.. they're moving to napa to where COPIA was
that's right near me
But I think that's mostly for chefs.
i tried to talk my sister into taking cooking classes with me but she wasn't interested. . . i may yet take some. . .
I have eaten there twice. Amazing.
bichon I don't have the 6
I want to learn how to do more pastries and sauces and Asian foods
but that clue you just gave would be the first 3 letters of the word or it ends with?
I want to take some baking classes. I've been told I am an excellent cook, but can't make a pie crust or a good cake for the life ofme
I've seen French guys do puff pastry with no effort.
me too ori... baking has never been my thing
I love to bake.
I think because it requires exact measurements and that's hard for me
fan, that was the clue for the 6, just pluralize it for the 7
baking is exact. . . i do the a little of this a little of that kind of cooking. . . .
My daughter had the same problem.
me too.. I create dinner by shopping for what looks the best
That's probably it .. I don't measure much
i had guests at a party suggest that i throw out the desert that i made. . . thankfully other people had brought some deserts. . .
I tried to make a dish last night that a local restaurant makes and it came out nice... but not as delicious as theirs
I cook that way all the time now.
Baking does require exact measurement because most baking requires some kind of chemical reaction to take place for rising and such. Cooking is different. I am not one to measure either when it comes to cooking.
lemon bars. . .
What looks good and throw in whatever.
I agree with Molly, you have to be precise, especially when making bread dough
Although you can ruin a dish with too much salt or hot seasoning.
yes.. that's the way hego
well i think i will go write a will (for a client) and come back later. . . 82 left. . . bye all
cooking is applied biochemistry.
oh.. i bet he's dying to have it done jm?
Making bread is like a science experiment. Speaking of which, I have a loaf working right now. I figure there won't be too much in the stores for while.
bread is fun!
I warm the water befor I add the yeast to it. And when I add the salt I keep it away from the yeast
I use a bread dough machine
Must go folks. Have a good day.
And as Jaques Pepin says "Happy cooking".
bye hego
see ya hego
The bread machine has been a life saver for me. I could never get the whole "kneading" thing down correctly.
I don't bake the bread in it though. I don't like the shape bread machines make, or the hole in the bottom from the kneading tool. I make dough in it and cook the bread in the oven.
I do that also Molly. They are great for mixing, kneading and rising.
ho5?
Bees make it
duh.....ty
Birds do it
Fireworks! Off to the hardware store. Painting closet doors today. Ciao.
I so hope that Peyton beats the Patriots today
ruru I agree I want the Patriots to lose but I think its going to be the Patriots and the Panthers in the Super Bowl this time
I am a big Broncos fan. I really hope they win today. Especially since it will mean dumping The Cheatriots.
i am dreading watching the first game but we have to if they do lose i hope the gaem between pats and Bronco's is at least a good one
ka7 clue please?
I Think both games are going to be pretty damn good.
probably right ruru
Molly did you read about Godell covering up the Patriots library of videos?
ESPN and Deadspin have great articles on how the Patriots cheated dating back to 2002 and probably before that
that is a known fact ruru
I guess MLF.. but this is pretty damning stuff they've posted
Godell is in bed with Robert Kraft and protecting him.
shocker....NOT
:D
NFL people have blinders on their faces
and they live in De Nile
The Cheatriots fans are the ones in denial. They keep posting incredibly lame stuff about how it's all NOT TRUE.
yep
all fans do that
I better get rolling. Have a great day everyone
bye ruru
No, really, all fans do not do that. I would be the first person pissed off to beat the band if The Redskins did something like that.
oh they are not pleased with RG3
but the coach is in bed with rg3 then again they are still talking about letting him go
RG3 career is on the ropes
's
and he did it to himself
he doesn't work at his craft and tries to coast on his physical gifts
and his big head
we have the same out here with Kaepernick in SF
ruru are they going to get rid of him?
yeah.. a lot of his teammates don't like him apparently
probably
I mean you make 11 Million dollars and you can't deign to study a playbook to do your job right?
that's what i have heard

dont know the term mlfan. sorry.
oh that is from the other g as well. i do get the term. ty.
choking?
did you get the clue at 11:11??
this has to have nope. it must be a gy word. all the rest come from the G in first row. there are 13 words from that G.
If the word clued is what I think it is, that too is from the top row G...
the clue from 11:11 is from the G first row. all GR words are from that G. this is not a gr word.
gy plus ra 4/4

oops. i got it. sorry. didnt realized it was a 6. ty ty ty.

Thank you - that's nbt nbs finally (though I've been out most of the day - had a lovely lunch with my daughter and her boyfriend in Lapworth, near Coventry)
judi uh oh? are you not able to make any French toast ?
Nah. Not even American toast. A lot of empty shelves and very few employees there. Managed to get the essentials, tho.
well thank goodness you were able to do that!
Have to venture out a little later to Trader Joe's. We're almost out of coffee!
Judi that is one of the essentials of life you CANNOT be without that!
i dont see the ta 7 and would love a clue. ty
I love Trader Joe's just don't go that often and its very expensive
I'll say. Snowed in without coffee? Perish the thought.
First three letters - beige colour. Last four - short for nathan

Sort of crane ending in to attempt?
My 'real' name is in the grid
so is mine
Is it the same as mine, then?
I can see two girls' names in the grid offhand
Make that three
what does your real first name begin with?
K...
I'm Kate
Actually, my 'real' name is Katherina, but I don't expect to find that there, and no-one calls me that
not me
I'm guessing, then, yours starts with A?
yep
And so either you're name is listed as a real word...or it's not ;)
Has anyone got the an6/18, please?
an + bird home, scrambled
Thank you! That's fireworks for me

hi smd
et?
There is a flaw in the Lickety Expert program whereby if people enter two letters or a word beginning with two letters it shows up in this chat. I'm not sure why all the people who use Lickety Expert have not told Lickety about that.
Do you use Lickety Expert, Molly?
Nope.
I ask because Lickety's program has been used by many of us for several years, and this is the first I've heard of any glitches. Are you sure it's the program?
I've been using it regularly, and haven't noticed any of my letters showing up in chat... is it just some specific letters that are showing up in a certain combo?
If you play using Lickety Expert, you would not notice your letters showing up in regular Babble chat.
Sorry for the silly entries. I upgraded my laptop a couple of weeks ago. The touch pad does more than the one on my old laptop. It is very touchy and driving me crazy!!!
That's just it .. I keep the online version open, as well as the expert version on my hard drive. I'm looking at the regular Babble chat now, and I've entered several words in the past few minutes through the Expert version.
Smdnjv, do you mean you're responsible? lol!! It's okay... if so, you cleared up the mystery for all of us :)
So when you play you are in LIckety Expert and regular Babble chat?
I must confess that I am!!
Only for the final words, Molly. I start out in regular Babble and then about the last 10% I open up the Expert for the list. BUT... sounds like Smdnjv cleared up the confusion. Thanks, Smd!
It is really not a problem. MLF asked about the two letter entry. I was trying to explain that based on what I have heard about the LIckety Expert program.
Well, now we know Lickety's program isn't the issue - hurrah!
Well, people have said that it is, and that is all I was trying to say when MLF asked about ET?
No worries, Molly. :)
ET = Extra Trouble
lol!
Sorry to have caused trouble.
And ..... fireworks! Any clues needed before I go?
Happy babbling ** poof **

Sometimes a man about the house is needed...
Apologies for the typing, my index finger was scalded in the kerfuffle...
I did that Soodle and the bit the key locks onto fell out and it didn't stop till the radiator was empty. Then I couldn't find the bit because it had shot out at such a rate!!!!Finally found it had bounced behind the rad - a neighbour had to come is and finish the job for me!
Deeha, that is EXACTLY what happened to me... I couldn't figure out why the key wouldn't turn in the hole.
My magnolia coloured walls are now a shitty shade of gray, and I fear for my wooden floors....
On the plus side.... the radiator is hopping!
You tried, and you're warm...it's all good! :)
Hi Champ. My normal philosophy is that a woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle. Until it comes to plumbingg. Then a woman without a man is useless!
Plumbing is of the devil, for sure. I once changed the innards of a toilet, but was screwed putting on a new pipe to the wall because I didn't have the right tool to cut it. Had to call in my brother for help. Pain in the butt!!!
I always want to gi8ve things a go. I hate to have to ask for help. Luckily my walls were quite dark green so they didn't appear to change colour!
I did tile a section of the bathroom. Just used my common sense. It isn't the greatest run of tiles but I am quite proud of it
Good for you!
I admit, I was close to panic mode earlier when the water was pissing out of the radiator. It took me a while to figutre out that the bit that the key fits into was missing.
Of course you were! But in the end your overcame. Where's the wine....*cheers* to Soodle!
Well done, Deeha. I don't suppose I could lure you over here for a small spot of tiling??
I have no 7's at all. Stats?
ta 7/28 (a plural)
thanks!
LOL Champ! I have been gazzumped in the wine stakes by Trifiso! Apparently, she came into Babble last night, and announced that she was 'drunkety drunk'. I am going to have to up my game....

Well done, Luv!!!! And Hi Owl
i am cooking up a storm. power stayed on, driveway cleared.
Deeha - anybody who has experienced the trauma of the lost 'bit' of a radiator is a friend of mine.
I saw some pics on FB of the mayhem on the East Coast of the US. Crikey. I hope alll you guys are safe and warm.
I'm in Texas....68 F and bright sunny skies. Gorgeous, be-outside kinda day.
Lucky you,Champ
No ta 7's popping up for me yet. I'm sure they're fish...

Hi Dan
would you like clues Champ?
Well, I, for one, would, Luv....
I have the 7/28. Would love a clue for the other...
ta 7/28 what the sun does to your skin + Mr. Hawthorn
and the other ta 7/28 starts with the same first 3 letters + a ***in runs on tracks + plural
the other ta7/28 is a plural hindu ritual

back hi lyn
ah that's the one
hi TOwl - keping warm?
yes, now that the storm has passed it has warmed to freezing
like cold weather but happy not there - brrr.
they say we had 23 or 24 "
and you're stuck inside?
no. except my company cannot move their sportscar and it is behind mine.
i might have gone to seek the sunday paper if not.
Hi again. I hope that none of you caught in this storm in the east were considered essential workers & have to be at work through this.
hi Nef
hi Lynxxx
work in phily, they will not be open. here, it is dealt with better usually, but no plow yet.
usually, we get more than them but not this time
we might get 3 inches of snow tomorrow; Minnesota missed any of this storm; & I can't help feeling that this should have been our storm somehow. (It's normal for MN to get storms like that; except that hasn't happened in the past several years.)
How much did you get TO?
23 or 24"
and you can have it.
want
If it was here; I'd say "NICE!"; but I can imagine no one there thinks that
no, our southern neighbors are hurting
I know. This was a massive storm; I have a friend in Nashville & she was posting pictures online too.
thanks Lynxx
we're just not prepped for that down here. It happens so infrequently that we get this much all at once, that there's no cottage industry of pickup trucks with plows on them, because there's no money to make doing that
and the local government's snow removal plan is basically "we've got some plows, but it'll melt"
is it an issue when it melts?
that's our snow removal strategy in TX...plan on it melting in next day or two
potholes if it melts & refreezes a couple times
DENVER GOES TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!
Very true, dan2. In the early '70's, I worked up by grand Forks as a County Health Nurse; & every big snow there would be an exodus of guys driving down to the Twin Cities in their pickup trucks with plows to help clear people's driveways & roads. Most of these young guys were farmers or worked in construction; & were usually laid off for the winter months. They would drive down (if lucky, it would only be a 7 hour trip); clear roads & driveways for 2-3 days for cash & head back up home.
Buh Bye, Patsies
When I lived in New England, all the landscape guys became snowplow guys in the winter
Bye all - hope you all get back to normal ASAP. Stay warm and safe
I don't know what the landscape guys here in Dallas do in the winter
probably landscaping :-)
bye, ty lyn
lol probably dan, it is a much longer landscaping season here
It brought cash into the small towns up there; & usually when those big storms hit the Cities; it was -30 (F) up there & too cold to snow that heavy. We'd have bad blizzards, but no where near the snow that the Cities had.
bye all, happy babbling
Bye TO, stay warm
May I have a clue for the an6 please?
like the AN 5 after but add another consonant right before the end
Does anyone have an6?
thanks teach.
thanks, teach; I forgot about that corner T up there. :-)

Hi Scrabs
Hi wht. I finally had time to come here and it is late. I looked at the word total and figured everyone finished long ago.
I just started a little while ago.
I have 43 left.
92 to go for me
Scrabs, do you have the ka6?
NO, but I can search with you. I do not have the list.
Do you have the list to see the word before it?
ka6 Misspelled tin + road substance
The word before it is ka4,8
TY, I never would have found that one.
I just wondered if the prior word would help us with ka6.
Do you have the lone G?
It is gy6,30
I should have seen that. TY.
55 left and I am ready for bed. See you tomorrow.
Good night scrabs
53 left and I surrender. goodnight all. :)

It's so nice to be in a place where I don't have to explain.
hello douglas how have you been?
I have been well. I've been transcribing the memoirs of my father's father, and adding images, maps and commentary.
that's a worthy endeavor
My kids haven't gotten very excited about reading this yet, but I'm holding a place for them.
I'm so much more interested in family history now than when I was young..I wish I had listened more
I did the "Roots" thing in my twenties.. I was interested to see where my family came from
I can imagine there were some *cough* interesting people in your family tree, ruru
I give my father credit for never letting the words "Bass family tradition" escape his lips. Like it was anything I was ever going to live up to.
Gotten to halfway without Lickety, declaring moral victory, Happy Babbling!
actually pretty normal people ;
it's just me that's weird
you're bgeing weird all alone. Isn't aggy a marble, inferior? or is that aggie?
don't know
aggy doesn't work though
:D
was reading on facebook about the police officer in Florida
nice story for once
I try to get half way--or one over half, except on those huge grids. the one with 27 words stumped me. I just stopped in--trying niot to spend too much time babbling, the books is shaping up to get finished, and one other book. Saw that Nef was on earlier, the one Babbler I've met, besides my kids.
I haven't seen it--my kids have kept me off facebook, they want the big book finished and don't want me addicted. I'm not sure how to get on. Maybe Daily Kos will tell it.
oh.. I don't do facebook much.. I know people do.. I guess it can be addicting
I have reached a few old friends through facebook... so it hasn't been a total wash
Did you answer the ST Louis student who was taking a survey of people on the chat? It would be interesting to read her paper. For an anthro or sociology class. I didn't so the survey, but did email her a few of my observations as an itinerant lurker.
I did.
I'm not really a lurker though
Did she let you or anybody know how her paper turned out? What did the survey ask?
I don't remember really, but basically general questions
I haven't seen her pop in since
age, sex, why you play, etc
no, you participate. You are one I enjoy. You and several others. It could have been v interesting paper, but if she was just asking those sorts of questions it was probably a sort of general paper. I have more than halfway now, so it's quitting time. Talked to Rasta today, their goats and chickens are all hibertnating. And bees. And family stuff.
ok.. take care then RB.. have a nice evening
haven't seen a dammit joke of yours lately--a question--Crossy in the past has been so talkafive, his studies, tutoring, etc etc, his tidbits. I was off for a few months and now he's almost silent. Has he said anything's the matter?
well. to be honest .. he's a little pissed off at me
but he's being silent likely for a number of reasons
I do my dammit jokes all the time however
evening, ruru, roundbarn
tomorrow i'm going to excavate my car.
good luck with that DC
looks pretty bad back there
well, I won't pry, although that's a trait as you can tell by my asking. And if you read my books--lots gained by being curious. He may be pissed at others, too. I will watch for your dammit jokes--they are v often v clever. Rasta tells me the whole chat is preserved, if anyone cares to look back at it, so I will not add thoughts and opinions, except that I like Dan2bit, and car and trif are sisters I lke, and Harry Hood, and Mark--and hello, dc, and goodby, this time I'm really leaving. Glad you have a house ruru. When I come see Megan in CA I'll stop by. (smile.)
thanks, the neighbors across the street in clearing their driveway buried it about as much as the plow did. i'll be nicer about where i put what i shovel.
and yes, the Archives have ass the chat logs back to the beginning.
(politely not going to comment on THAT typo)
I like a lot of people here... there are a couple that do drive me nuts however..
woo! plow and salt went by again
theres one who hates me. he goes silent if i appear n the chat.
really?
I thought everyone likes you dc
you don't ever really start anything
really. Ever since i came out as non-Christian.
oh.. that'll do it
well I'm an atheist.. so I am one up on you there :D
my tombstone will read.. "Here lies Ru.. all dressed up and nowhere to go "
atheism is the only reasonable answer to life, the universe, and everything.
nice!
pardon me, but what does your religious beliefs have to do with being a friend or not?
no argument here from me
in my world, it does not. In that individuals, it does.
I don't think it matters at all GR
*grin* ruru
I have friends that are religious.. but allow me to not be.. which is nice
it is so sad when religion comes between friends. everyone has a right to think what they like without fear of judgement/condemnation.
I completely agree
I've never had religion get in the way of friendships to be honest
except once ( as I remember it )
i am so sorry seain that the individual sees fit to judge you.
mind you, i DO have a problem with radicals and fundamentalists in all religions.
I'm not too keen on the Catholic Church's doctrines but I keep it to myself
WOW, I am shocked and pleased at VDOT Northern Virgnia for the job they've done with roads, even in neighborhoods this blizzard. Better than any prior storm.
*giggle* some of them are pretty hard to swallow.
The right of each to believe as mind, heart, and conscious dictate is important to me.
of all faiths, Trinitarian Christianity makes the least sense to me.
i hear you seain. it is complicated.
I have no idea what Trinitarian Christianity is
I'm affiliated with the Unitarian Univeralists, and am of Sephardic Jewish family.
ruru, Christians who believe in the 'father, son and holy ghost' or "father, son, and holy spirit" and accept Jesus as Christos, or savior in English.
Unitarian Christians also are in the world. They don't accept the trinity, and some don't accept Jesus as Christos, but merely as a prophet.
lolll or what seain said. i was in the middle of an explanation.
great minds, rose :)
ah well you type faster than i do....lolll
