a friend of mine lost his wife to ALS last month as well. sad beginnings to the year.
Thank you. I kept him here as long as I could but, ultimately, he couldn't stay as he became aggressive and was constantly falling
right - that is why i was asking about what help you had. :(
He was 90 (I'm much younger -- lol), but even though it was a mercy that he died when he did, it is still very sad
I kept one of the aides who helped him and she does my grocery shopping and runs errands

There was no hard freeze this winter, very odd weather, but I guess that's everywhere

As with any image, remember that once you post it on the internet, people can get their hands on it and do with it what they wish.
That happened to me years ago, in Binghamton. I used an owl drawing of mine on an invitation to an exhibit and a locl furniture store used it for its "night owl sale"
People think it's "safe" to post photos on Facebook because they only allow "friends" on their page. Alas, those "friends" can copy any photo and send it to whoever they want.
I've read about that and rarely puts anything in FB except birthday greetings or comments on other people's entries

Mulch helps to control weeds, but most hardy plants will come up through it.

I'd probably get my bedroom set up before the kitchen myself (sleep is that important to me!)

I have to have work done under the house and the only entrance to under the house is in my bedroom.. so that will have to wait. I have a guest bedroom I can sleep in .. in the meantime
When we moved into our house (23 years ago now!); a friend of mine had spent a number of years setting up new franchises for restaurants. I got sick right when we moved; so she & another friend came over & she set up my kitchen in 2 - 3 hours (it would have taken me a week). Believe it or not; I've never changed a single storage space in all those 23 years; it's just so easy to find things there
And I'm a lefty & she's right-handed! (It's a basic 1950's galley kitchen; so not much storage at all either)
I'm sure I will figure it out. I haven't decided where everything goes yet
I do have a lot of kitchen storage space which I'm really thankful of. I do a lot of cooking
NICE! My hubby loves kitchen gadgets; so our small appliances have spilled into a closet & and a bookshelf in the room next to the kitchen (one of those dining /bedroom or study rooms that was common in 1950's ramblers back then)
I have a large industrial rack that is most of my storage. I have a few things in drawers, and a very few things in other cabinets. But i also live i n a small 1960s house with two adults and a teenager.

and i've planned a ton of travel for this year: a weekend in Baltimore; a week on a mountain in NY, two weeks visiting Des Moines, KC, Chicago, Cleveland, and family in Central Ohio. Sacramento in September.
Des Moines? That is about 4-5 hours from the Twin Cities. Will you be there the full 2 weeks or is that your intinery for your 2 weeks off?
i'll be in Des Moines the evenening of the 22-26 July mid-day, then off to Kansas City, KS.
If you have the time; (& depending on DH's health then) we might be able to head down there to meet up. But that depends on your schedule & hubby's health.
i could easily meet yall for a lunch or dinner. I'm going to Des Moines for retail geeking. I'll have most of Friday Day free, and can arrange to meet yall over that weekend at some point if possible. :) It would be nice to meet in person.
