hmmm looking... definitely NOT in morewords...
well, can't imagine in what situation one could use that word in plural form....
Does the 10 follow the 9? Please and thanks
I can't imagine what the word is!!!

name that proper noun! scrooge's clerk
Thanks much, hurshy.

as 7 and as 8 (related, but the 8 is not a plural)
as 8 not related, sorry
dee, hi! do you have the tr10?
I finally found it on a2z
so is it between the tr9 and tr5?
use 1st 7 letters of the tr 8 + letter that looks like a cross + abbrev for east + abbrev for south
new word for me. thanx.
It wasn't even in morewords... at least paris got me on the right track, or I would never have found it.
how are you doing with this grid?
i suppose it's the plural form of a related word.
I still have 60 to go, and I am finding it really tough.
i'll go and do a jigsaw th4, and come back in a while. xoxox
Lickety's list is up, minus the tr 10, if that helps you.
i am done, thanx
hoped I could keep going and finish tonight ! silly me, 104 for tomorrow! bb early
goodnight all
Sleep well Flosey
ty Liz
Sorry I missed you, Rose - I keep leaving this grid and returning, hoping to see a few more words.
Ditto that, Liz!

fa 7 x 2
Good luck Dee - I'm leaving this until later tonight. 110 to go! Will probably end up listing then! Sleep well, when you get fireworks!
Thanks, Liz!! Have a great eve / day!
Thanks
And then, just like that, I found 5 more words!
i am back. who's here?
I have been in and out... down to 23
well done dee. the last 50 or so are like looking for hen's teeth.
too true!
lol... you should have heard me trying to find the tr10. *mutter, mutter, hmpff, mutter, mutter, blah*
exactly the same!!
scrolling up and down between the tr9 and the tr5... saying where is it? stoopid word...
I totally agree.
*giggle* how are your preps for easter going? i am still in two minds about maundy thursday and the feet washing thing.
Really surprised the tr 10 was included, since it is not in morewords.
We are going to my hubby's mom's on the Saturday before Easter, so I won't do any prep this year. I have been more focused on our daughter's upcoming birthday and getting ready for vacation in May.
nice. does that mean you are off the hook re cooking over the easter-ti4?
when is daughter's b'day, and where are you off to in may?
March 31st; Outer Banks, North Carolina
And she is looking poofy pregnant!!! So cute!
awww.... how lovely. would you be able to send pics? i so love pregnant tummies.
We don't have any!! I have not been able to talk her into taking any yet.
I think she has been so nervous, after having the miscarriage last year, that now at 23 weeks, she is just starting to let herself get excited. Jason felt the baby move for the first time just the other day.
oh wow! i bet he nearly flipped out...*grin* and understandable about the pics.
He was super excited. She wouldn't let me touch her tummy before then - she wanted him to feel first... really sweet.
finally fireworks!
hated this grid :(
WTG DEE!! you have done well. xoxox
Thanks, ((rose))). Well, I need to go find my pillow.
sweet dreams dearest dee. xoxox
XO

oh! you might like this - my niece is studying journalism in college, and she applied to be one of 30 students from the US going to Cannes to cover the festival, and she was chosen! needless to say, she is over the moon!
Wow! Does she speak French? Tell her to Watch out for those dashing Frenchmen!
hello again, Rosie, I thought I was on your s*** list LOL
she speaks Spanish, very well, actually....she is so excited. I am so proud of her. one fly in the ointment - my sister INSISTS on pronouncing it "con" which she thinks sound more posh. "con" as you well know, is NOT something my niece should run around saying in france.
now why did you think that?? i heard from sprite...did you?
No, never say "con" here! And Frenchwomen don't swear. The worst they'll say is merde.
trif...what a wonderful experience for your niece.
lol. well, "pardon my French" then!
thank you granny.
I teach my Fr girlfriends bad words in English
Rosie, I came in here about one minutte after you left and I thought you were freezing me dout. Silly me!!
dinner time my friends. xoxox to you all.
bon appetit, Rosie
There's a funny scene in the US series Deadwood where a client used a curse word in front of one of the women who "works" in the saloon, and he say "Pardon my French" to which the "lady" resonds "I sà peak French"
lol
(sorry for the typos, I'm still groggy
I am wearing a ca6/30 to keep warm
Almost half and nothing bigger than a 7 and only 2 of those
Duh me!
me too ruby!!! I was getting frustrated
I can't find anything bigger than a 7. all the usual endings and prefixes aren't working
If anybody follows or otherwise annoys your niece, tell her to say "Fiche moi le paix!" They'll recoil in horror. It just means "give me peace", but it,s slang and a little rough
thanks!!! will do!
fi5 is PB for you, madame! lol
The first time I was in France, Young and cute in a mini skirt and with a baby, when I'd say that, they'd disappear
she doesn't have a baby, but she is definitely young and cute
haha "tant pis3 as they say, too bad
I didn't know you weren't born in france.
I was only 21 and because he was blonde and I wasn't, they assumed I was a nanny
no no, I'm a New Yorker
mind = blown
Why?
I thought you were French.
i mean, it's not fatal...i will go on to lead a normal life and all....hahaa
I just read your profile. My first time here, in '63, my 1st husband was woeking at the Bibliotheque Nationale and I would make a picnic lunch, bring th baby, and we'd eat lunch either in the Tuileries or in the courtyard of the Palais Royale.
ahhhhh....the Tuileries!
I fell in love with France immediately
I didn't realize you had been in France years ago
and ultimately convinced husband deux to retire here
Hello, Bichon, yes, many times, and almost married a Frenchman in '78! But that's a story for a rainy day
i cant speak for everyone, but thus far, I can recommend husband deux
Sounds like a dream
Many dreams....except for the last few years
But as my local doctor said, ominously, I thought, "You've had a good life!"
For the food alone
I thought I just entered some text, but it disappeared...how strange
anyway...I think I will take advantage of the chance to sleep a bit more. love to all

Hello Byz
Want the an 8, 9, 10?
yes, please Byz
and gm, everyone!
tr 8/55 -- most of the windpipe and start of the bird that ends up in pillows
Plural the 8 for the 9
tr 10/84 -- again most of the windpipe and a group believed to be extraordinary: *l****
some purport the group is for snobs
For me, this is the first time Lichety has fewer words than the grid
the bird who's down ends up in pillows
Byz, ty, but I don't understand the last letters of the tr 10
ty, byz, found them all.

help zooz
Bich which part don't you get? The tr word for windpipe or most of what mosquitoes and vampires do?
I can't even find the spelling in the wordplays dictionary - I thought that had everything!

hello Molly
Same first six letters as the TR 8 + another one b**** the dust.
Sorry all did not see your other clues untill it was too late.

ruby, help me pls
How is your weather, zzoozz?
bichon, "t" for "d" might help for the 10
you put the word in the chat
At the moment in time it is sunny with some clouds floating past. and slightly mild. How is your weather, Ruby?
doh, ty
It's about the same, but pretty cold at night
We had a wee bith of snow last night
Yes night ime temps are around the 4c-5c mark.
Yuck, Bichon.
I remember the blizzard of April 6, 1981
But the garden has started, about 35 daffs, forsythia, primroses, violets and hyacinth
Good morning all
We had some snow too, just a dusting and more coming
Sounds like it is starting to look nice then, Ruby.
Hello, sukee :-)
March 1966 we walked drifts to the top of our high school
Hi zoo
My favoritye time is starting. Next, allysum, tulips and flowering trees
I think, trif, said they had about 8 inches of snow.
Hello Sukee
Hi Ruby
Oy, stop ruby. Got to take the fluffs out
I love tulips, Ruby. But they do not seem to last long with the sea wind knocking off thier petals too early to enjoy them.
How is your bad boy doing? Have you tried any of the meds for Mr. Snappy?
Their*
Ruby, I'll email you about it
1966 I was only two years old then.
The problem, here, with tulips is that they are great the first year and then die off. Locals dig themup every year, but that is too much trouble!
Good girl, Bichon LOL
I'll send you some pix of my gimpy kids
I gave up on tulips. Just daffs, crocus, hyacinth
The tulips werepmagnifique the 1st couple of years, but only a few hardy salmon dwarfs remain.
I had pink, purple doubles, pink and green parrots, etc.
Could try them in pots and then store them in the greenhouse over winter.
Now I either plant (have planted) more r fill in the holes with other stuff
I buy inexpensive flats of geraniums and put them in the borders
We're going to plant a winterberry shrub
ca 8 /50 plz
The handyman put in 40 assorted bulbs, all pinkish, on Saturday, but I have no idea what will come up as they should have been planted olast fall
Hello Ivesy
What is winterberry?
The birds will like that, bichon.
morning ruby, bichon.. cold here too
oh good morning zoo didnt see you lol
Hello, Ivesy :-)
Just came back from Osaka. It is spring there! Cherry blossoms are coming out. Here: snow forecast for later this week! Boohoo!
CA8 automobile + metal container + alien on bike go home.
Keep warm, Godthaab!
I'm jealous, godt, I miss Japnese food!!!
Plural for the CA9.
ty zoo!
the winterberry is a species of holly native to eastern North America
ty zzoozz
Are the berries red? I put in one holly, but the birds eat the berries when they are stll orange, and now, because of that, there are baby hollies all over the place
checked google ... berries look red
I love when plants do that; it shows they are well-acclimated to the garden
We put in an elderberry for the birds and it, too, ghad a baby nearby
Does the elderberry get social security?
Of course, buddleia and cotoneast become invasive pe**s and have to be removed or they'd take over the whole garden
We're not in the French system, unfortunately
I'm not even sure if it's elderberry or something else, but it's tall, has flowers first, then white berries which turn orange and are eaten by the 100's of birds which live in our garden. It's perfct for them because I feed them sunflowers seeds all year, there is a fishpond for water, there are not cats AND they entertain the dogs, kind of dog TV
I feed the birds with fatballs and birdseed in a large birdfeeder and all the food is gone in about two days lol
I have a small feeder and have to fill it 3 times/day
I tried fatballs, but the merle worked in pairs and dismantled them, leaving the plastic on the ground
I am sure the birds are grateful though, ruby :-)
laughing all the way
it is nice to have the feeder where it is, in front of the kitchen Windows, so I can identify all the French birds
I take the fatballs out of the plastic netting and put them into a tube cage the birds love that as they can all gather around the cage and enjoy!
We're planting winterberry to attract birds. Birds don't come to our feeder
They eat so much that I'm surprised they can still fly
Yes i can see mine from the kitchen and upstairs windows!
Drive-in banks were established so most of the cars today could see their real owners. E. Joseph Cossma
I'll look for a tube like that because it would probably attract different birds
hahah, Byz
http://tinyurl.com/z7qtula
mine is the one that can hold around six fatballs, Ruby.
I Wonder why birds don't like your feeder, bihon. Do the fluffs chase them away?
I wrote down that tinyurl address and will see if zoomalia has them or maybr amazon
Amazon sell them, Ruby.
So, more than snow, we also have ice.
Be cafeful then, sukee. i hate ice.
Unless it is in a drink of course :-)
Me too. It's the first full day of spring, come on :)
Yes :)
feeling hungry need to get a snack. Still need 89 words to find.
lunch just arrived: devilled eggs, awful beef bourgignon, with ok polenta, brie, bread and a pear. Happily, there's always something I can eat
Doesn't sound too bad.

Good morning, everybody :)
hi crossy
Hey crossy!
Hi all and thanks for as 8/50, Byz
Can I have stats for the 9s?
Odd schedule this time around. Just coming off a week off, then back to classes for three days, then the students are off until the following Tuesday when the new term begins. However, I will have the joy of helping my own beloved with her final credit for her college course she wishes to take.
That is odd. Great to have the time off though and really great to be able to help your beloved with her work.
Sukee - I only have tr 9/72
ty
ca 9/66 ... plural of ca8/50
Thanks.
Thanks, Dos - will have to search for those.
Hi kids.
Hi scrabs
Hi scrabbs
*happily typing away*
Break time, good luck.
Bye sukee
Have a good day sukee
good morning, babblers
Hi Annie
Hi Liz, I should say "good evening" to you
That's no problem. Time zones are so confusing! That's why I just say hi - covers everything.
Liz, Is the time difference 12 hours?
It is 8 am here
It's 10 pm here - so it depends on where you are in the US
East Coast
That makes it a 14 hour difference for me. But it's different again for Rose - she's on daylight saving for another week. We don't have that here.
we changed to daylight savings time last week
In our winter, I'm on the same time zone as Rose but in summer she's an hour ahead of me.
Not sure when daylight saving finishes for Rose - end of March I think.
acta
sorry
No worries.
One of the 8 letter words would be more useful :)
Hi ANnie
Hi Scrabss, How are the bunnies?
Great and I will have a guest bunny here from tonite through April 2nd while his family is away. His name is Giacomo.
Are new bunnies easily accepted into the group?
so you are running a B & B for bunnies
Yes, it is Rabbitat here. Everyone is separated as rabbits are very territorial. Remy has run of the house. Gulliver has his own room and Giacomo will have his own room.
Remy will meet the other 2 at the gates of their rooms.
Ah! Sounds like border control!
lol
I may someday attempt to bond Remy and Gulliver but that takes time in a neutral space under stressful conditions, e.g. laundry basket, bathtub (no water), so they bond with each other.
I must get ready for an appt. Maybe I will be back tonight. ENjoy the day,
Is that the same with all rabbits even if they're from the same litter?
Have a good day.
bye, Scrabbs
55 left and I'm giving up for tonight. Perhaps with fresh eyes I'll see more words tomorrow. Enjoy your day, Annie and lurkers.
thank youi, Liz, and a peaceful night to you
Thanks, Annie

Anyone here have issues with low vitamin D?
no, but my doc said to take 800 to 1000 mg a day when i complained of low energy....
i realized that my multi vitamin only had 400 mg...
a blood test showed that my levels were low and the doctor put me on supplements - the next blood test (months lter) showed that they were back in the normal range
hi wv
good morning all
pen do you only take them when you have low energy?
hi...
car, I take 50,000 units twice a week. It is RX by my doc. She says the otc Vit d does not do any good. Have brought my level up to normal now so continue to take it
this is definitely a puzzle that requires monkeys
no, mlf....i take them every day...
its not as bad as i thought it would beowl
i take calcium with minerals and d. how did you find out you needed it? i've heard of people needing B and potassium but never d
showed up in a blood test done by doctor
wv...that is exactly where I am at.
Yes, Nancy, I have a prescription now
It will work, not too expensive either.
is it a winter problem, since d comes mostly from sun exposure?
Is there anything that I should not take it with, i.e., vitamin C, jucie or such?
I use OTC D supplements and it brought it back to the normal range - still continue to take them
wv your icon is so adorable
I have honored George long enough. I will update my icon now.
can yu tell that I adore Snoopy :)
ohh well yeah i kinda noticed that wv:) i do too actually
car, no restrictions about what to avoid. I have to problem year round, not just in the winter. I live in Florida with all the sunshine but cannot sunbathe as I have had skin cancer so avoid large doses of sun
maybe you need a cooler climate nancy?
Ok...good to know.
I'm a sunscreen goddess anyway
wv:snoopy, careeyore:eeyore
Whatever this pill is, I only take it once a week, so it must be quite the dose
hah no way. I came from Michigan where the winters are brutal.
wow that is a major weather change Nancy!
did you have symptoms?
car, I started out with just one a week but the level was not moving up enough. so now, two a week does the trick.
they say though that the sun is just as bad for you in the summer as it is in winter
Hard to say, TO...I"m pretty much a mess! LOL
Ok, Nancy, good to know. Thank you all for your input.
I have an ultrasound on Wednesday for a thyroid nodule...anyone?
If you are taking the pure Vit D, the pills are caps that are so pretty in color, sort of a teal
Yes!
I was admiring my drugs....LOL
nodules are easily treatable according to google
temple, no symptoms, just showed up on my lab tests
I try not to google or webmd too much...would rather talk to people with a similar issue. My mind goes to dark places with too much information
car don't get distracted by the pretty colors that would so not be good
but what if I SEE pretty colors...is that OK? ;p
car i do that too
car mm no probably not lol
car are you distracted by my icon yet?
I see a pretty lotus-looking flower when I click on it, but on the regular babble screen it looks different, but too small for me to see.
i refreshed both pages again
I am now to the point in the grid that I am seeing more phantoms than words :(
yes some type of blue lotus flower i typed in blue and green and found it so decided to use it
Its lovely
ty car
very pretty, mlf :-)

Does anyone know if the 10 exists? It is not in the list. Can't even begin to think what it might be.
Does anyone know if the 10 exists? It is not in the list. Can't even begin to think what it might be.
there is a 10 tr 10/84
Does it exist? Well it counts in the grid if that is what you mean. It is not in Lickety's list though.
Lickety's list uses a different word source.
Ok. I will try to find it.
It is TR10
Sandieangel, some good clues around the 5:14am - 5:30am mark in the chat log.
For the TR 8/55 ; TR 9/72 & TR 10/84
I have put every permutation of the windpipe and the duck and nothing works for 10.
It is a weird word. Starts with the windpipe five letters if it helps
Yup. That is what I have I have. I have the 8 and 9 but the 10 just does not work.
Okay the same six letters then add another one B**** the dust.
Another one b**** the dust is a reference to a freddie mercury song.
thx zooz...finally understood your clue after searching unsuccessfully for the B, lol

::wonders if that means she should stop wearing her 'save the tatas' tank top::
*Wonders how many "interesting" comments Eva gets when she wears that tank top. Especially with her pregnancy enhanced tatas.
i dont think it fits over the enhanced tatas...heh
I think it's some kind of bad joke of femininity that you get the best rack when you are least likely to make good use of it.
not for hubbys lack of trying. :X alas, theyre so sensitive right now that whenever he does try, i threaten him with equal pain in similarly sensitive areas of his own anatomy.

I could not handle this 120 lb dog so found it a good home (through spca of course) so time to change icon bbs
clue please?
aww I hope it finds a good home
yes mlf - we were very careful about this, of course, he is in very good hands - came highly reccommended
that's good:)
the dog in your icon right?
because we found the dog through the SPCA, they do, by law, have to be involved in any readoption - and yes, that was my daughter and Leroy
Good for you, flossy. That's such a tough situation. I have adopted shelter cats, once had to rehome a cat.
that's good:) as I mentioned I had one of those dogs I love them
hi misha
Hi! 😄
Sorry, autocorrected to flossy instead of flosey!
no problem, I tried to use flossy but it had already been used - that was nickname given to me when I started working
so many, many years ago!!
😄
i just see a huge flower
what huge flower owl?
yes TO, replaced pic since we no longer have Leroy - he went to a very good home
ohh the pink one
pa5/12 the first one?
i am sure you would make certain to do that. you tried.
Tough to have to give up a pet, you try everything and still feel bad, in my experience. Really speaks well of you finding Leroy a good new home!
I did TO and felt terrible at failing, he was just too big for me - I could not have walked him, he even got away from hubby and headed straight to a group of fenced in young lambs - where he could have, by law, been shot!! Legal on our island
we had to putour great pyrenese to sleep due to a lame leg
oh my! was it just lambs, or was he always hard to control?
I think I have them nvm
Mine was a cat that ended up being a danger to our other cats, turned out he made a good solo barn cat for someone else and I was so glad.
apparently they are often used as sheep dogs, they corral them, watch over them so it was quite natural for him
So sad, MLFAN17, I am sorry for your loss.
t mish a long time ago
can't overcome nature.

flosey yes they heard sheep and cattle very used to the outdoors. we kept ours either indoors or on our back deck. they need a lot of yard to roam around in

stuck again, n st 7/36?? this grid is too harde for me today
Can someone email the 10 letter word I'm missing - starts with T
I'll send it

SMom, the st7/36 is st + first two of the word that comes before cat in hat + first two of frozen water. A totally abusurd word.
Sorry, s + first two of the word that comes before cat in hat + first two of frozen water
afternoon all....i am confused....the TR 10 is not listed on Lickety's list.....so why is the 10 on the grid
Dr. G is known for appending a couple of words not in ENABLE. Stent is another one....
I'm not sure I understand the "appending" thing. Why confuse people?
I expect people pressured him that it was a 'real' word.
thanks again molly... another of the thousands of wirds that lne will never use heh heh
Seriously? People pressured him that tr10 was a real word? With all the real words not included? We are allowed merde/French for shit, but not merci/French for thank you?
I figured out the word from the clue below that was given, however, when i try to enter it, the grid will not take it...
The grid is likely taking it, but Lickety's is refusing it because it isn't part of it's daily list....
clue for st8/60 pls?
The grid takes tracheites
I couldn't figger out that word as it doesn't appear to be a "real" word. with an -itis ending it makes sense
nm, compound word
mary, could you clue it, I am stuck on that one too
nm, just got it
fi 5/18, pls
there are 2 x fi5/18 bich
It's like a best fr____ w/out the r
It amazes me that people try to figure out the words that are and are not included in the bizarre Enable word list that drives this grid. The Enable Word List is the most random, illogical word list ever.
1st one is a cruel or devilish person
ty gramma
2nd one is pl of fi4/8
yw
CA8 and 9 please.
have them all, ty
ca8 - vehicle + tin *** + "** call home" (and yes, i'm repeating an earlier clue, tyvm)
and then pl for ca9
ty
yw
The enable lexicon is touted as being the most heavily researched lexicon out there. Whether or not that is true is irrelevant. What is relevant, it's free to use however you wish, unlike most other wordlists. Was first creted for Scrabble addicts.....
People always seem to feel the need to defend Enable (Enhanced North American Benchmark Lexicon) even though it is the most out dated reference for word games, since it has not been updated in 16 years.
And it is not "free to use" here. Here it is what drives the grids we are trying to solve.
Finally finished. May i offer a clue or two?
See you all tomorrow then. Have fun
I fixed it, but it needs a refresh I think
that was the 3rd word in my list not in enable
yes that worked, thanks lickety
But I've had to flag 172 words as not valid in my list
Thanks Lickety
I think this is the hardest I've worked on a grid and still have over 50 left! Lol
you are so right misha... i am struggling too
Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now though.

Easy mistake to make. No worries.

The 9 is a pl of an 8 and the 10 is similar (not in more words but in a2z word finder)

Yeah, nan, I'm much better at words than math. Even in Babble!
Hmm, monkeyed it. Checked the definition. This st7/36 word is new to me. Try this - st + female poultry + 2 letter shorthand (often used in texting) that indicates understanding.
Plus, it's twisty all up in the right upper corner!
