oh Dee, tytyty - perhaps there are others with limited experience with puters

Do appreciate your effort though Hurshy - it's just my lack of understanding with puters
usually wordpad can be found under the start key of PCs, but they now seem to be inconsistent

Good morning
"I like this place and willingly could waste my time in it"
((zzoozz))!!!
((Ruby))
I like this place when you are in it
lol
I'm happy as the April rains continue and the garden gets lovelier every day
(didn't get your quote)
It is the 400th anniversary of Shakesphere's death just thought I would throw one of his qoutes out there :-)
It is a lovely day here but it has started to get cooler again.
I didn't recognize it, too limited an education....to much artand science, not enough literaturerr
It's not very cold here and, happily, I'll inly have to go outside once, for the mail
It was from 'As You Like It' (Act II, Scene IV).
Sounds like a good day to do babble then, Ruby :-)
Thank you, I only know a couple of the plays but not that one
Yes, I didn't even light the fire, just wrapped in a blanket and smiling, waiting for my lunch to arrive (I nevr know what time; yesyerday it xas at 1:30)
That was a bit late. Hope it will be earlier for you today and edible too!
and after waiting that long, it was inedible lol
Usually, it's good on Fridays, but the "mystery fish" was too tasteless even for the dog!
I would say oh thank you and what delights do I have today? And see what answer they come up with.
I shouldn't complain, there is always something in it I can eat, even if it's not the main course
True but you need to keep your strength up and try to gain some weight.
I can't seem to get beyond the current plateau which is 40kg. Since it was as low as 38, this is better
When my father lost a lot of weight they gave him the ensure drinks and he hated them but now he seems to tolerate them lol
But at least we know he is getting enough nourishment as he wil not eat much of the food we buy or make him.
I tried those, too, but couldn't stand them; I could alway taste the vitamins. "Princess Ruby!" LOL
lol
This is one of those grids where I am not finding a word on a tile for a while then suddenly see a few more lol
me, too
but you are much better at this!
Ha! Yeah right.
It annoys me to no end that Ensure tastes so disgusting (like snot, I am told). Why can't they make something nutritious AND good tasting for those who are having trouble with solid food?
Hello, Molly.
Hello, Molly.
Oh I could not agree more, Molly. It baffles me too!
Whoops.
I try to make myself treat like asparagus, white or green, with hollandaise and an egg
Fattening and tasty
I think people are better off getting a Nutri-Bullet and making their own liquid nourishment.
What is a Nutri-Bullet? And how do yousay it in French?
I had to google nutri bullet lol
It is a blender, Ruby. I just looked :-)
I don't have a problem with solid food, it's just that most meats don't appeal to me and I'm not cooking much
I have a blender, but Nutri-Bullet sounds much cuter
lol
A Nutri-Bullet is better than a blender. It has a high power motor and pulverizes food. Add some liquid (water or fruit juice) and you have a pretty good and nutritious drink.
My father can not eat much solid food as his throat starts to close up if he tries to eat much solid food.
It also makes great soups and sauces.
I will ask my father if I buy hi one would he let us make him meals with it before I buy it otherwise would be a waste of £70 lol
Fortunately, I don't have that problem, but I could certainly make good soups with my blender
I love soups!
Hollandaise (my favorite) comes in nifty little boxes, so I can slather it on eggs and asparagus
I like chunky soups, but you can make some really good pureed vegetable soups with a Nutri-Bullet that would be ideal for someone having trouble with solids.
Hollandaise & asparagus is devine!
I am definetly going to suggest it to him, Molly.
and they''re in season now, plentiful, French and inexpensive. I refuse to buy them off-season, when they comes fromSouth America
definitely*
Spelling is not good today.
(sorry for the typos)
Mine has paid for itself, just for the ability to manage fresh fruit. Anything that looks like it might be on the verge of spoiling gets blended into a smoothie and does not go to waste. I hate throwing food away. It's too expensive.
Talking of chunky soups, Molly. I love gazpacho soup!
Do you put yoghurt in your smoothies? Or even rum? (not for me, at the moment lol)
While I find the flavor of gazpacho good, I have never gone for cold soup. I opt for salsa instead when I want that flavor combination.
No yogurt (can't stand it...again, tastes like snot) and no rum. Just fresh fruit and fruit juice.
My "house specialty" is gazpacho, made in the Madrid style. I only make it for company (made :( )
I add the yoghurt for the erxtra calories
I guess you don't like whey, either, Molly
I have made some good daiquiris with it though. Especially when strawberries are in season.
Ha! I have never been a person who needs "extra calories". : D
When I used to make Spanish dinners, I would macerate the fruit (strawberries, oranges, lemons or whatever) overnight with sugar and brandy
for the sangria
This is making me hungry lol
Like that, you can add the wine without it being too weak
Good idea, but I would rather just drink the brandy than have fruit soaked in it. : D
I leave the fruit, but the fruit-infused brandy is delish, the cook's treat
I miss entertaining but lack the energy now
I lack the funds to entertain properly. Again, food has gotten pricey. I try to make do with what my budget will allow.
In my "salad days", after my divorce, I still entertained with great soups, no meat, fruit tarts, and my friends would bring the wine. I even made my own breat
bread
I think I hear lunch arriving; hopefully, the gate is unlocked and I won't have to get up
Good luck on what you get, Ruby!
No, I was wrong, no barking
lol
There will be a few in the PB with the words CL4 & HE 4 in the grid :-)
My Rufie is snoring softly next to me -- bliss!
Aww :-)
There is nosweeter sound
Oh for goodness sake I put water in the kettle but forgot to switch it on to boil. I wondered why it was taking so long tsk!
I know Zoom, I opened the PB bar early because of cl4 and he4
lol
It would make a great drinking game. Do a shot every time someone uses one of those words in chat. We would all be shit faced in no time. : D
Especially for me! I can only handle about two pints lol
I would have to have pints as I do not like shots.Although i do like southern comfort!
A low tolerance for alcohol is not a bad thing. Just a terrible, terrible shame.
LOL nah more for everyone el4.
You can keep score then, Zoom
Oh I could do that!
fu 7 plz
My friend once bought a green skull bottle of absinthe of around 80% proof and I took one smell of it and that was enough they had a few shots of it and was totally wasted lol
I have a FU 7 that means have a most great time?
Ends in what birds live in.
Ends in what birds live in.
ty zoo!
Welcome, Ivesy :-)
Any nudge on the an8 please?
Do not have that one yet, Matty sorry.
I'm also struggling on Es for what it's worth - I have none from the top row, fourth column (I have two of the 3 next to it though) and none from the first column
Ha do now.. first four letters of the word meaning yearly + to lease a room then plural.
Annnnddd realise I now am in the PB. Is it too early to serve beer in there?
Nope *passes beer* to, Matty.
No such thing as "too early"
Thanks zooz :)
* Slurp * - nice pint of Naked Ladies (yep, a real beer by Twickenham breweries)
EL 5 & 6
Speaking of which if anyone here is anywhere near West London, come to the Sussex Arms tonight for a St George's Day gig - 12 real ales, 6 real ciders, 2 real musicians and good fun
Zoom, we forgot no4. That is another word that gets said a lot in chat
Oh yes will mark that one too lol
*Places an extra liquor, beer and wine order for the PB bar
Hope it will be a lot of fun, Matty!
I bet no one who goes there tonight will be running in the London marathon tomorrow lol
I imagine that people who run marathons are not sitting around on their butts all day playing Babble : P
I bet you're right :) So c'mon Zooz - quick trip from the Isle of Wight and SW Trains from (I think) Portsmouth. You know you want to :)
No you are right there too, Molly :-)
Name that Python in the grid...
Ha I can nnot afford it, Matty. Sorry :-)
Oh I include myself on that one Zoom : D
Well it's not Monty
LOL
May I have he4 or cl5 for any of those pesky Es I mentioned?

Enjoy your meal, Ruby.
Good morning all.
My favorite Q word is in the puzze :)
I feel I am stuck at 53 left unless I find a list :( We're going to go out soon in any case
Hello, Sukee :-)
I still need 29 words to find.
Hi zoo.
136 :)
Just checked and Molly has a list in her profile, Matty.
I'm sure - I just can't be arsed at the moment - I think I shall go for a smoke, mock Jeff as he looks for the snake (in the case for a drain) and generally heckle. Getting practice for some quality heckling tonight
Have fun!
Which QU word is you fave then, Sukee?
the lineup one
ah yes. It does not come upin the grid too often.
I love the fact I can find a word with that many vowels :)
My thermometer says 4C and I am sitting here with goosebumps and feeling chilly. But, there is some wind and my windows are practically useless :)
On the other hand, it's sunny :)
Could wrap yourself in a duvet!
I could I guess, my blanket is on the couch :)
I guess I a in a hurry for the warm weather to arrive.
It is going to be chilly here again for the next few days. when is the warmer weather going to get here.
Yesterday it got up to 21
wow nice!
Then again, I haven't bought shorts yet, have to get on that.
would never catch me in shorts lol not with my bandy legs :-)
I only wear walking shorts, just above the knee :)
Or capris
Well I hope the weather warms up soon for you to wear them :-)
Not before I buy some new :)
Going to my doctor on Wed for blood test and there is a store there that a friend told me has so shorts for a decent prie.

No worries :-)
Hi kids. How is this grid? The letter distribution looks way more friendly than yesterday.
Hi Scrabs, was going great but hit a wall with 64 left
Any paddling this weekend?
don't think so, I will be too busy. But we're celebrating my hubby's birthday and I got him a kayak
how about you?
Wow! What kind?
A Perception Swifty I think. Wanted to make sure it was no longer than 9.5 feet so it will fit in our vehicle.
My sister and cousin are coming down here with my great-nephews (my sisters grandsons) ages 3.5 and 15 mo so we will have a fun day of play. We will hike and play in the woods, go to the pond, etc.
I don't like the shape of the hull on some of the new, inexpensive ones so I had to do some research to find one.
Sounds great, what's your weather like?
MY first kayak was a Perception Sundance 12 feet. I bought it 10 years ago.
High of 53 but sunny all day.
mine's a Perception too, trying to remember the other name but it's 9.5 too. How do you haul your kayak?
In 2011 I bought a 15 lb Kevlar Hornbeck hybrid canoe--sit on the bottom and use a double-paddle. So it is a canoe but functions like a kayak. MY friend bought one, so did my sister and cousin. They are made in the Adirondacks and are very popular.
I remember you talking about those previously and I looked them up online at that time, they look intriguing
hello all
hi MLF
hi luv
My original kayak weighs 48 lbs so I developed a strong dislike of getting it on top of my car and getting it down and to the water, etc. Portages were difficult even with wheels. We love our Hornbecks!
Hi MLFAN.
hi scrab
eses
oops
Perfect cl4, MLFAN. Toss some more out like that.
I can't get mine on top of my car without a second person's help so that's why I get the shorter, lighter kayaks to put in my vehicle by myself.
How many words today, anyone?

Hi Annie. How is Brooklyn this morning?
hi annie
hi Luv, scrabbs

Brooklyn is dreary and looks like rain is brewing
Hi Une, How is sweet Lucy?
sunny and warm here in Nashvegas :-)
Bon jour, Une.
good morning all
fan, I missed you, hi
hi car.
((Scrabs))
Annie, Lucy is doing great -- lots of personality and good energy :-)
We had rain last evening and overnight but it is getting brighter now.
hi car
hi annie sorry too busy typing in words for a minute :)
Hi Car.
hi car
too many e's in this grid
rare grid that doesn't have an r in it
oops, there's one on the bottom corner I missed
Annie, my daughter is in NYC this weekend -- with her longtime boyfriend and an Iranian gentleman she has regular conversation with to help improve his English :-)
sorry to disappoint you luv lol
Oh how nice. Are they staying in downtown Brooklyn?
they're CHEAP -- staying in a hostel somewhere LOL

Hi Molly

yay for mlf! LOL
My Dad loved Jackie Gleason. Remember The Jackie Gleason Show with The June Taylor Dancers?
of course!!!
me too
ty une television is a wonderful thing sometimes
does an8 start with an 4/4?
That was back when variety TV shows were good. Now they are just glorified talent shows.
Fred's wife is in the grid from the Lucy Show
zhe sure is annie :)
Et5 Mae Potter!
awww, loved her, annie :-)
Ethel Mertz
I used to have a T-shirt that said, "forget Lucy! I love Ethel!" with her picture on it.
car that is so cool. i have a coffee table book about the i love lucy show ..i love it
and loved all the kids' shows on Sat. morning! Sky King, Ramar of the Jungle, Little Rascals . . . and often a Shirley Temple movie! :-)
cool, car :-)
Pointless trivia...Et5 had three middle names during the course of the show. Louise, Roberta (Vance's middle name) and then Mae.
<---loves Shirley temple
A few years ago I saw a newborn with the last name Mertz and when I met the parents the father's name was Fred Mertz. I almost LOL'd but I had to be professional.
scrab that is too funny what a conincidence!
mlf, my mom was the same age as Shirley Temple and my grandmother used to curl her hair on rag strips to look like Shirley :-)
Of course later that day I told every one that story.
I have Mother's sheet music from the Shirley Temple movies :-)
une i think most little girls had hair that way back then because of Shirley temple
scrab, that is hilarious!
When I was pregnant with my first, we knew we wanted to use my Dad's name somewhere in my son's name. Our last name is Reilly...so we told my dad and others we were going to name the baby Charles Nelson Reilly. You should have seen the looks we got!
une wow what a treasure!
I had Shirley Temple curls when I was about 5-6 years old.
car LOLOL
Good job keeping it together Scrabs!
Haha, Car!
We still have our "official" Shirley Temple dolls up in the attic.
car i loved him but not sure that would have been a good idea lol
Never!
My father laughed so hard....
me too, car!! Altho Mother had one made into a "bride doll"
I just remember him getting shitfaced on Match Game with Richard Dawson
Car, I almost lost it, but I managed. I wanted to ask him why his parents named him Frederick Mertz.
car do you mean the ones that they made a million of but were told they were a limited edition?
Charles Nelson Reilly was a funny guy.
I have a blue glass Shirley Temple pitcher that Mother told me came in a box of Tide!
I don't really know MLF, but my grandmother got them for us and was proud to do so. Unfortunately, we played with them all the time, so they are not mint in original box by any means.
hilarious i watch him on Match Game a lot
car bummer
not really, Trif and I had a lot of fun with those dolls. That's worth more!
'morning, everyone
Hi welki
hate to leave this terrific group but need to get going -- am helping set up our library's spring fundraiser -- HAGD everyone!
hagd
car very true most kids don't know "mint in the box" condition
bye, Une
As a pediatrician I have seen and still see some awful names, especially spellings, for newborns, and kids. I want to tell parents to change their kid's names to make life easier for their kids.
bye une
Bye Une
help with either 8 please?
I can only imagine, Scrabs
scrab must be fun
fan, an8--first 3 letters of my name, vowel + to rent a place

ty annie

Here is a match I want to make with 2 current patients: a girl named Tyranny (yes) and a boy named Havoc (yes) will have a baby boy named Kaos someday.
omg...LOL
LOL
Why would anyone burden a child with names like that
scrab lets hope not!
Those are names of real patients. I am not kidding.
un 7/32 --- to return what was pilfered; pl
My neighbor's little yippy dog is named Taos. But I refer to him as Chaos because he barks so much. : D
thanks, Byz
You would love it here then, Molly. The lady next door to us (zero property line) runs a kennel for small dogs.
annie to rent a place misspelled?
I don't have a problem with dogs barking, it's what they do. But when it's incessant, it gets annoying. And most of the time the dog is barking to be let in and is being ignored. The owners are horrible.
no. or use the 3 letter ending meaning to alllow
ty annie got it
nbt and nbs
Oh, when she has a lot of dogs for the weekends and she lets them out in the pen, all they do is bark incessantly.
plural for the 8
scrab is their any connection between adhd and sleep walking in children?
Well, I don't know what ADHD really is anymore as it is a default diagnosis for any child with school and/or behavior problems in the last 10-20 years. It is way overdiagnosed and overtreated.
i know someone who has a child who sleepwalks is that common nowadays?
But, sleep deprivation causes all of us to be inattentive, cranky, have poor focus, etc. Which is why adults drink the stimulant caffeine all day.
It is not uncommon, MLFAN. They need to place an motion sensor at the child's doorway. Some people that sleepwalk leave the home. One friend's husband drove around the neighborhood, parked the car in a different place out front.
i have heard of adults sleep eating as well

VolleymomDee has a list, I found
ty rbud
I am thinking about the dairy word. I new folks.
Molly has a list too
I mean Hi new folks.
roquefort, american, cheddar
Ah. Slam me with a cod, Annie.
hi rbud
no slams, gentle nudges
ap7?
hi! hmmm, was just noticing that no one seems to use BabAnon any more, but no surprise there, I guess
rbud dos it exist?
it's not always updated
yes, the link is under Lickety's down below
not sure I recall my login info, haha! :P
be back later
pha starts the reverse of the first 3 letters of your name in this game and its a pl
i have not used any of those links other then lickety
good old sprite, last one to post a list there, it looks like. :)
I only mentioned it because it used to be a good place to find a list when Lickety wasn't updated, easier than finding someone's profile. But no matter.
rbud ohhh
does anyone have the lu7?
ch5/22?
the most lu4/6
phae did you find the other word?
no
did you see my clue?
ty kitty got to find the right lu word:)
understood the first part of your clue...but got lost after that. :-)
ch+vowel+**st and furious
ty grant
ty grant
I kept trying to use the P to make the taco bell treat. lol
yw

lol phae i t hink that is cha not a che
ty MLF
yw phae
lu7 anyone?
LU 7 - superlative
hi wv
good morning all
superlative of what?
need the lu4/6...then make it more
Good Morning Everyone
hi nef
lu4/6...something very full and rich
Hi Nef
fu7?
ty phae got it
Hi WV and Nef!
a great time phae
ty mixi
FU 7 - another superlative
Hi MLF, Scrabbler, phaeton, teach, and mixi
hello nef
fu 7 is a word?
it shouldn't be
sure...hear it on TV all the time! To hell with the grammar rules.
it has a definition though but sounds like improper English
I remember being told (as a child) that that wasn't a word!
lol phae
nef i always thought it was wrong as well
it wasn't then...but look at all the new words we have now. Anything goes...or so it seems
yes we have some weird words the past 10 years or so
need sustenance...bbl
And look at how people spell on the internet. Yikes.
scrab some people talk like they are on the internet too
all those poor teachers who taught us English, grammar, & spelling must be rollong in their graves these days
hope not many of you used the word he** that is in the grid to figure out words?:)
Yes. And look at people and restaurants. No conversation, just staring at phones, OR the people are just sharing videos on their phones. Conversational skills are decaying.
nef makes you wonder doesn't it?
They are beyond rolling, Nef. They are grieving. Grammar isn't even taught anymore.
It makes me sad to see couples eating out & they're both staring at their phones & not talking to each other. :-(
i told my mom i wanted to wish my bro a happy birthday or something recently and she told me to text him. i don't even own a cell phone
It is very sad to see the loss of interpersonal connections.
Wow, MLF! How can you communicate in thie world today? ;-)
nef some people have a "rule" now they tell everyone to put their cell phones in the middle of the table and not to touch them during the meal
land line phone nef?
I like that, MLF
so do i nef i wish it wasn't becoming obsolete
i know we have those tings online to talk and see people at the same time but why cant we just pick up a phone at home and use it..its disappointing
I do have a cell phone & I made the mistake of buying my DH a very nice cell phone with a stylus. I keep losing him in stores when we go shopping etc.; so I thought if he had a cell phone I could call him & find him easier. Nope. he either can't hear it or he can't remember how to use it.
Or (even worse) he leaves it at home!
nef nice lol
my hubby gets a newspaper to read while we eat. some things just don't change.
stats for E in first (left) column pls
nef my husband and i always say you can do anything on a cell phone but make a phone call lol
mixi that is so old school
en5,12 teach
es4 i think?
nef. Put a tracking device on him. there are many out there that you can use in conjunction with your smart phone ( I think they are marketed for pet use, however.) :)
Crossy!
hi cross
Scrabby!!
Howdy mlf :)
I read an article somewhere recently that people were complaining like this over 100 years ago when the telephone was becoming more popular, too. People were saying that society would collapse because phones were destroying civilization!
Hi Everybody
i know people who have those on their cell phones they are for humans lol
Hi Hego
he don't know how to tex or retrieve messages. usually the dumb phone is off. (it doesn't do bluetooth, pictures or the internet. )
hi hego
*text
nef i would agree with that now
Hi crossy
howdy nef :)
mixi simple is best if you can
It saddens me greatly to see families at a restaurant and the parents are staring at their cell phones and each child is staring at a tablet.
weird
its as bad as putting a child in front of a tv
And kids in my office all come in with tablets. They must be entertained at all times.
My niece has a tablet for her 5 month old.
I actually have a tracking button (so he can find his cane, I use one on my cell phone; but you need to have the remote "finder" along; I could try that I think.
Oh, no, Hego.
cross do you like my icon? i figured since google is celebrating him i should too. i love this saying or poem but hadn't realized it was his for some reason
a 5 month old??????
Scrabs, yes. it can entertain him when she's busy.
I was going to tell you how appropriate that was, MLF
... bright lights ... it's a baby sitter
ty nef i agree with it
Right Dose.
I no longer have a land line simply as a budgetary measure. The most inexpensive land line I can get here is $35.00/month plus taxes. that is for the most basic of basic. I revived a 7 year old Nokia cell phone. it does the basics but nothing fancy. It costs me 15 dollars a month to operate.
cross that is awesome
last month I did not even use 8 dollars of call time;)
Crossy is Mr Frugal!
my husband had a cheap phone and wasn't using the minutes
I would hate to tell you the cost of the three smart phones on our family plan.
yikes hego
yes, the unused minutes will expire in 45 days if you do not add time, but a 100 dollar card is good for a year, so I may throw one on then forget about it for a year.
Long live Verizon wireless.
on some phone don't those minutes get added on if not used?
On some, but this one does not have 'rollover" minutes. best option is to just put a 100 dollar card on it in january. last time I did that it lasted me till the end of November
yeah rollover minutes i knew that. just add minutes is a good idea
I am not a "yakker" on a phone. I say what needs to be said then i get off the thing. At 15 cents a minute flat rate, I can make it last a long, long time
cross congrats lol
:)
works for me. I do my computing at home. Do not need to do it on a cell phone, but other people experiences may vary :)
I'm not a phone talker at all.
I do not like talking on the phone. I prefer texting or emailing, or talking face-to-face.
cross and hego i think most people text i think even emails are not as "popular: as they used to be
Me too Scrabs.
i like to talk on the phone or face to face
I prefer talking on the phone, but my kids text all the time.
My husband gets crazy because no one will talk anymore. All he gets is texts.
Good Saturday morning, peeps!
my bros do that too my mom a lot
Hiya Judi!
I have a friend who lives alone; and when she calls, she can talk Forever! (I think it's because she lives alone that she needs someone to talk TO; she doesn't always Listen when I try to talk about other things!)
Hi Judi
Hi Judi
i know the feeling nef
i gtg will be back
Introverts tend to not like talking on the phone.
Is that what it is?
We need time to form our thoughts, so we prefer writing.
interesting
I'm more of a tactile person
hiya Ru
No surprise there, Ruru.
This f is making me crazy.
cross, I was assuming you were on Fido - but 15 cents a minute! I'm paying 1 cent a minute in Canada, 5 cents a minute (special added) to the US (talking to my brother) When you have to renew, check out Fido
Hi ru.
I have 6/12.
I'll keep looking
I will, helen. :)
Well, the Qs were merciful todya.
I need to get ready for my sister's arrival. She is bringing her grandsons down in an hour, with our cousin, so we will have a fun day. Enjoy the day, folks.
easy
All the kids at the school laugh when i whip out my trusty old phone http://tinyurl.com/jnraf5q (mine is same as on on top of this page) :)
I've been informed that we are out of milk and I need to go buy some more for a 2nd breakfast for this hungry grandson. I have 110 words left; so I'll be back later.
Enjoy Scrabs!
Bye for now! Poof!
helen, I do not see any plan on the Fido web site with a price that low :(
I have a basic flip phone.
my retirement goal is to become computer illiterate.
My husband still has his flip phone. Company pays for it. However, they did hook him up with a tablet earlier this year, and he can call and text with that as well.
:)
as is mine, mixi. I hope to regress to the point where i bring my old typewriter out of the closet once more
... I doubt you'll be able to get a ribbon
Oh to escape from a world of tech shaming...
Yup, there are universal ribbons available via amazon
I did COBOL programming for 30 years. I think my skills will go through attrition.
... oh they're gone ... ... haven't seen COBOL since Y2K ... ... kid's in school today learning programming have never heard of COBOL
Babblers, check these out: http://www.usbtypewriter.com/#gs.QuuDB\niA
There is some still out there.
... oh I know ... but all the old support programmers will be dead soon and then no one will be left who can fix it
I'm not THAT old.
Pretty soon even keyboards will go the way of the dinosaur. We'll all just talk into our computers and phones to create documents.
Think i shall pick up one of those USB typewriters and have the best of both worlds...
I didn't either, but I don't think this is a special of any kind - I just had to go have a fit about the way they were handling my renewal, and when they wrote it all up for me to read, there it was!
Off to brunch. Later, kids! *POOF*
Is there a list out there, please/
Molly has one
ty hego!
yw
hello dear friends
Howdy, Trif :)
MAN crossy! it is so good to see you!!! been WAY too long!
Way too long indeed ;)
I wish you were here, for lots of reasons, not the least of which is I have four days to write a ten page paper, and I barely understand the assignment
you cam pm me if you wish and we can bounce it around a bit
its a lit review of the impact of and best practices for pediatric autoimmune neurological disorders associated with strep. just KILL ME
wow...
I'm just typing it up, and handing it in laden with prayer. it's the best hope I have
Well, at ten pages, I would do it up in the 5 paragraph structured essay format. You can repeat this as many times as you need but i think 3 main points with examples and 3 tight references supporting each point will eat up ten pages easily
and like any good avoider, I am here babbling instead. winning!
that is an excellent plan, crossy! will do.
Just tying the summary back to the thesis statement will eat up a page with that topic!!
But watch out for the horror of accidentally getting 11 pages - that is always rejected!
it is quite discouraging, as the prof is a huge jerk. I feel fairly certain that if I handed in a paper with two pages written at the front, and one at the back, the middle pages could be absolute jibberish and he wouldn't even notice
judi I still have 2 q words to find
Some profs allow you to go over a tad.
... 3 pairs of singular and plural for the q's
but fours days??!! I sometimes spend four days just editing!
trif sounds interesting
four days is 100 percent my fault
dose I have 2 of each
I often spend a full day just creating the perfect reference page ;(
... a line ... a monarch ... a task or trip
cross it is just as important
apa or die, that is my new motto!
I have the trip
moreso. You can have a perfect paper, but if the reference is not 100% correct, it goes into the recycle bin
and the qu of england
u need the "line"
cross I agree with that
I hate A.P.A but I have learned many shortcuts for it
hello
got the q's now ty
hi again phane
The U.B.C A.P.A pamphlet I sent you is a good one, trif.
help with the lu5/14?

maybe
steven hawking maybe
dictionary says its used in music, but I've never heard of it and I have a degree in music.

cute clue, ruru, ty
Hmm. Got the first part (even though it's not a planet any more).

No. It got de-listed several years ago. What galaxy have you bee hiding in?
Got the word, by the way.

EN 5/6 combo
Just a big ball of ice. Neptune dung?
I'm bummed.. didn't know this..
ty wv, I never see those words
Yes. Scientist have downgraded our solar system. But, they did discover a rather gorgeious bubble nebula - was in the news yesterday.
I like to call it the "Hubble Bubble".
I'm going to be Marsed for life now
would that be one-way???
Don't get Uranus all in a twist.
ah.. I don't have a mercurial temper
It's very difficult to pun planets.
yes.. once in a blue moon you can come up with planet puns
I feel Jupiter ..er I mean stupider that I didn't know about pluto
If you're a cowboy, Europa in a new planet.
that's an Italian Cowboy term judi
you Europa the steer and then you...
This grid is annoying without Lickety to fall back on . What is the dysfunction there anyway?
not sure
lickety split I think
Kinda looks that way.
Any clues for the 8s?
un + metals
Ty, ty.
an 8 (a ring)
Ty, again.
yw
anything else judes?
I need to jump in the shower and get my day going
"Snarf" is so a word.
I thought so too
When I see bacon, I snarf it all up.
i snarfed a lot when i was stoned
Exactly.
i wanted bacon and eggs this morning and had neither to cook
Bummer, man.
I went out with friends to an awful restaurant last night and woke up starving. I couldn't eat the food it was terrible.
Was there wine at least?

Mmm. Sounds good. At least you got some nourishment.

Time to do some laundry. Giving up on this grid. 49 left in the bucket.
Hallo again. I'm short a seven - I have an7, ap7, ch7, fu7, no7, no7, pl7, se7 and un7 - what am I missing please?

Ah - lu7 what, please? (i.e. how many points)?

What does it start with, Snoopy?
lu 7, I mean.
LU?
yes lu 7
Ah hah! the most lu4/6
oh ok just 4 eh?
help with the no7 pls?
That's the clue - the most like a famous soap and smelly shop (at least here in the UK)
There are two NO7s, MLF
either lol?
or both actually
Both have the first three letters the same - one is means nine, sort of - like you can have twins, triplets etc - take that to nine...
is se 4/4 a part of it?
The other is the same first three letters then say a Swiss Army knife has many **** (sorry, not a great clue - but the second half is a word in the grid starting with a letter near the end of the alphabet)
No. there's no7/36 which is the nine word (think no+consonant + my partner and I are part of a co****)
matty I just got a no 6/7 from that 2nd cl**ty
the 7/36? no idea
no+consonant (same as your other no7 as the third letter) plus not down + french for the

British line and plural
thanks, mollyl
Oh, love Ru's new sucker icon : D
what happened to lickety's?
I think Lickety might be on vacation. Or on holiday for you Brit/Canadians.
I see
Can anyone clue the fu7 please
not the most boringest
thanks ruru didnt think that was a word so didnt try it ... forgot this is Babble :-)
yep.. yw
I kind of like boringest : D
ha
where can I get a list?
molly
molly always has a list posted until lickety shows up
thanks
how do you do it Molly?
... magic...
It's not my list, it's Dee's. I just pay it forward.
Dee is the Babble Whiz Kid.
she is amazing at this game
okay, I have the list, how do I mark off or take off the ones I find?
You can't. It's just a list to let you know the words and what order they are in.
I see
People who play this game have really been spoiled by Lickety. It will be a shame if he ever quits.
that's for sure
I think that would drive bichon right over the edge :D
someone should be apprenticed to Lickety to learn the craft
Hi, All -- but especially Jen. I'm usually a lurker, but I have an answer to your question. Paste the list into a Word document; then use highlighter to mark the words you've found.
I've never figured out to use Lickety's bulk add and grab, so I use the same method even with Lickety.
I just memorize lickety and go from there
But Lickety helps a LOT because, say, there are three fa 4/7 words, and you have two of them. Lickety lets you know which you have.
I use lickety more than I like to.. but some grids are impossible without his list
Bulk Add/Grab is easy. Just copy your word list and then go to Lickety (top of the page) Click on Bulk/Add Grab and when it takes you to the bottom of the page, paste your words in the Add Bulk box. Then click on Add Bulk and all your words are in the Lickety list.
whew.. for a second I read that as Bulk As* grab
One ass to grab is enough for me Ru : P
I'm a two hander myself :D
It's really pretty easy to copy and paste into Lickety's list. I have never gotten why people can't figure it out.
lots of us are computer impaired
Seems that is the case. I just thought that copy and paste was one of the rudimentary internet lessons. Apparently not.
so can I copy molly's list onto word?
You can copy it anywhere you want to. It works better to copy it into an Excel spreadsheet. Then you can add your words as you get them. But I have a feeling that suggestion is beyond this discussion.
ok
E's are zapped, 88 to go!
Sorry -- somebody just stopped by. But I see Molly's advice about grab and drop -- and I'll try it when Lickety returns! Thank you.
duh, I just printed the list and can now cross off the ones as I go!
And as to Word vs. Excel -- I assume either would do. But I am far more familiar with Word. I have a doc named "Babble" set up in five columns. When I want a new list, I just paste it over the old one, and the five columns are retained.
so, what you are saying foam, is go to word, make 5 columns and then paste the list in?
Yep.
With Lickety, he already separates, say, the sh's from the sl's. Dee doesn't. So when I use her list, I put in a line break after each group.
okay
I copy Dee's list into my profile and separate the word groups. I thought people knew that by now.
Aha! Good to know, Molly -- I'll use yours instead of hers!
So what is the best list checklist to use in Microsoft Excel?
in order to set it up?
template
If you know how to make a spreadsheet in Excel, you just create your own. There is no template.
ok
Just finished -- thx for the info, all!
yeah, foamflower!
ok, Molly, once you have your list on a spreadsheet, do you delete them once you find them, check them off?
No, you just know you have that word.
okay, thanks
wow, everyone here must be lurking
any clues for the no 7/36?
no 7 is the pl of no 6 no longer utile
negative start and "they make a lovely co**** "
i have no7/32, hunting for the no7/36
ooh, ty lynxxx!
I got it a long time ago, I am on the se now!
Good evening my fellow babblers :)
hi Cross
Howdy, Lynxx. :) How is your day going?
hasn't started yet but looks like a lovely day - clear blue sky
Very nice. We are in full spring mode here. 4C and bright sunshine:)
Chance of frost tonight though.. :(
4C ? -- that's still winter!
lol!
26C here today
Not breaking out the swim gear yet but there is hope that things may thaw before the end of August ;)
26c Now there is a fine summer day
just hoping we don't get any heavy rain -- creeks are already flooding - big snow pack in the mountains and sudden heat wave
what a pretty area C'nan!
We are lucky here in that regard. We are right on the southern part of Georgian bay and any fast floods just drain away into safe areas on the way to the bay. Plus, our "mountain" is really a molehills compared to your peaks.
I'll sit over here and finish my last 32
you would consider our Blue Mountain a training run for children and the infirm :)
we still have snow hanging around at the 3000 ft level
we have lived in Qc and ON -- remember thinking how flat it is when we first arrived there.
yes lynxxx - we are fortunate to live in such a lovely area with such a terrific climate
Our area is beautiful, but we often look westward with envy.
other than the insane cost of things out there ;)
especially in winter and deer fly season ;)
we do have to pay the sunshine tax!
We get deer flies and horse flies in Algonquin that tear chunks out if you let them ;9
I don't even understand the def of that pl7.40 - let alone recognise the word
take a shot at cluing it for me?
an 6/18 please?
starts like the planet that isn't one anymore, add vwl, then ends with you and me
ty lynxxx
an6.18 an & anagram of birds home (often here)
ty again
ap 7 please?
ty for the pl7 clue, lynxxx!
ty for the pl7, Lynxx ;0
ap & c7.36 dropping the c&e
c7.36 is edam, gouda, cheddar etc
if that is a clue for the ap 7, I don't understand it
get the c7.36 then drop 2 letters from it being c & one of the double vwls
add to the ap - sorry another odd word
lol - now that makes sense! - ty
fw
Congrats!
grats, gwen
ty again for cluing those silly words, lynxxx!

Hi Babblers
he may be away - long weekend here
he put up thursday's puzzle quite late
must run - bye all
bye lyn
bye lynxxx
1s le 5/14 please? -- not seeing anything that adds up
le 5/14 le + a hawaiian dance is a **l* dance
fu 7/44 please?
Lickety is a nice help addition to this game. I hope people will remember that he does that free of charge and just because he is a good guy.
if they don't, I'm sure someone will remind them.
As it was said, it is Australia's version of Memorial Day this weekend, so it's possible Lickety is away. People do take vacations from their computer from time to time.
Lickety isn't a god given right here. Some people think so however
I am down to my last four, sh5/14, sn5/18, st6/18 and un6/27, any hints?
sn 5/18 is Situation Normal...
sh 5/14 plural of sh 4/6
st 6/18 plural of st 5/10
un 6/27 is my last word and I'm still trying to find it
just found it-not open
congrats!
ty Jen
did those clues work for you Jen?
