We hiked the gorge in Watkins Glen years ago. The gorge is magnificent.

When I lived in Binghaton, we went a couple of times, but never did much hiking. One time, there was no water in the waterfall

I've had a couple of anaphylactic reactions & the last thing I'd call them is nostalgia!
well the allergic reaction i had was relatively mild. what happened was, i was trying on bridesmaid dresses for my best friend's wedding. and something i tried on, someone who tried it on previously must have had some kind of lotion or perfume or something that got on the dress, because, everywhere the dress had touched my skin, i broke out in hives

but i have never had that reaction to any lotions or things that i've actually USED, and there was no way to find out what it was, so, i'm allergic to SOMETHING, but i have no idea what.

see i didn't get the cannot breathe part, only the hives. and the benadryl made 'em go away pretty fast too.
Well, to tell the truth, I have narcolepsy & can fall asleep anytime & anywhere if I don't take my meds to stay awake

I carry so much medication around with me now (almost all over the counter) that sometimes I worry that someone will think I am "addicted" -- which I guess I am; without the meds, life isn't a sure thing some days.
How are you otherwise, hurshy? Hives that respond well to benadryl at least can be minimized.
i'm just paranoid about ever being without sumatriptan for the migraines. or worse, that the day will come when it stops working.
I've fallen asleep driving (more than once!); and even while giving report after working my shift (these have happened when I missed my meds or was trying to push myself too much)

oh i can fall asleep while DRIVING alright. esp in the sunshine. found that out when we moved. first day, drove 4 PM to like 3 AM, no probs. but the rest of the trip, we only travelled during the day, and i could NOT take my share of the driving.

My hubby wants to take a trip down the Mississippi River & check out all of the Bar-b-q all the way down. The problem is that he no longer can drive; and I can't drive more than 6 hours a day right now. (I think it will take way too long for this trip right now)

yes, I was just thinking how much my mother enjoyed the barge tour they did in France so many years ago -- didn't need to drive, but had lots of good food at every stop!

Yep. Salaried and all. BUT... it's a very small store, with only three employees: manager, and two clerks. His first task? Hiring another clerk so he can have some time off! LOL
But it's part of a fairly large chain, so there are many opportunities for advancement if he decides he enjoys it.
That's so nice he's doing so well. And for the owners to suggest that he hires a new clerk means he's doing very well there!
yes, I think so -- the regional manager seems to be very aware of the training and all that he needs: I think it's a good place for a young person just starting out.

Yes, about 20 minutes from home. This was a very small store that we first tried way back when Matthew was only 9 or 10.... that would be 13 or 14 years ago! LOL Then the manager hired Matthew for a while.... then Grant last year. It almost feels sometimes like their second home!

He had a bad experience with the college thing his last year of high school, so he is just waiting until he feels the need for it. :-) Meantime, some of the things he is learning about "real life" will serve him well if he ever does go back to college.
