I feel the same way, Soodle. I was one of those "nose to the grindstone" types; working hard to pay off school loans and earn money to do things later -- like travel.
DH & I used to say that we would buy an RV and travel around the whole continent in our "golden" years; buttery time we plan a trip he gets sick for some reason

Soodle, I gave up drinking years ago because I always "paid for it" the next day. I have an occasional glass of wine (3 or 4 times a year) but more than 1 drink & I'd be "hanging over" the toilet the whole next day; even when I was young.

VERY allergic. MAkes me sad, since I like them, and they like me.
Canine, of course. There is a mix female who might be coming available locally in a few more weeks -- I have a friend who is at the local shelter. But puppies need to be weaned, of course.
I am actually going to hope for more than one though, since when I am teaching I am gone long hours.
But Tom isn't quite ready... fingers crossed he will be soon!

Has to not need regular "exercising" because of my mobility issues. Has to be good with other dogs (my parents' Murphy will visit). I don't care so much about breed or age, but would prefer a critter that doesn't have HUGE health issues... animals with food allergies however would fit right in! LOL
Oh, and one that won't chase cats. There are so many in the neighborhood.
