I am saving this lovely grid as a reward if I complete my paperwork!

not sure if this is a reward-like grid. I hit a wall long before halfway.

arboretum
hi Frances :)
that is one nifty phanton
Oops! Sorry about that. Hello sprite. How are you?
I am fine! Haven't seen you in a while. How are you yourself?
Hello, Sprite :-) Did you find your lens you were looking for?
hi zooz! No, it has disappeared without a trace. It is an enigma.
how are you doing? And how are the parents?
Typical probably find it when you don't need it..tsk
probably, lol. One can hope.
All okay here thank you..Parents are both holding up too thanks for asking :-)
good to hear!
How is it your side.. All okay?
yeah, things are ok here. A bit of trouble with son again, but I managed to get through to him and things are slightly better again.
When will that lad ever learn!
closure
Nooooo! very sorry everyone.
Not too bad. Had a blood test this week to see if I have an under active thyroid. I cannot lose weight and until I do they will not operate on my knees. Thought it strange that I was told I could have gastric band surgery but not a knee replacement. I told the doctor there was no point in that as I hardly eat anything anyway. I think it is a cost cutting thing.
I really don't know. We were on the verge of having him leave the home on a fight. I keep hoping we can avoid that, and that he will leave home because he is ready.
how odd, Frances :( I know how hard it can be to lose weight if your body doesn't cooperate.
thanks for the cl biggie :D
I bet if you went private, Frances, they would have no trouble with your weight and do the jnee operation.
It is a constant battle. It has got to the stage where I forget to eat.
Knee*
If only I had the money zooz.
you might want to try to eat 6 times a day, Frances. Sometimes our bodies go in hibernation mode when we eat too little. Giving it regular bites might wake it up and get it to burning calories again.
I know that feeling, Frances.
I have been given diets by the dietician and put on weight.
happened to me too, so frustrating that is
hello my lovely friends. a fleeting visit. movie night at the church. special hugs to you all.
Hello, Rose :-)
well finally, there she is :) *hugs rose*
and there she goes again too. It is not my lucky week!
I have also cried buckets over the past three weeks. My amazing four legged grandson has gone to the great dog kennel in the sky. He was six days short of his sixteenth birthday. I miss him so much.
Well in one way I hope they say it is the thyroid at least then you can try and get that sorted. Not knowing what causes it must be very frustrating.
aw am so sorry for your loss, Frances. It is really hard to let our pets go.
xoxox need to go. picking up some dinner on the way. church soup kitchen went well. i have found i actually like borsch. and my cream of mushroom went over very well.
((Frances)) Sorry to hear that.
aww frances. special hugs for you.
wtg rose! *hugs* and have a good movie night.
Toodle pips, Rose.
Thank you rose. Hi and bye.
Was it a plane...was it a rocket...No it was SUPER GRAN!
How is Caya getting on, Sprite? Have you got used to her not being around the house yet?
ugh no, zooz, I haven't at all. It is a big empty spot in our lives. But she is having a wonderful time, enjoying every day, making friends, doing fun stuff, enjoying her studies. So that makes up for it.
thanks for asking :)
Glad she is having a good time learning. And it sounds like you have done your job well :-)
:D I really hope so. And so has she.
Are you not using the spare bedroom into something you can use or are you leaving it empty for when she visits?
Sorry i think that has come across as being very nosey.. That was not my intention.
both. I am sleeping there now, so I don't have to climb a ladder to go to bed. But in the weekends when she comes home, I move back to the high bed and let her have her old room
not nosy, interested. No apology needed :)
I did just do a check to see if it was nosey or nosy..both are okay to use lol
hahaha so us foreigners aren't the only ones having to look up english spelling!
Oh well at least she comes home for the weekends that is good!
Sprite I seem to do that more and more these days. Wondering if I am losing my marbles at times lol
:D no way. Just caring more about spelling, I bet.
And if I count in my head from one upwards I seem to get stuck on seven for some reason like 7,27,37 etc I kind of say twenty s.s.s.s.s.s.s.seven. Very strange. No idea what that is all about lol
not in a stutter way just holding onto the s part for a long time.
that sounds a little odd.
I am weird right LOL
I do not do that all the time..but I have noticed it.
*grins* weird is fine. As long as it is healthy weird.
The Summer here this year has not been a bad one weather wise. How about for you?
not a good summer here at all. It has been mostly overcast, sometimes downright cold, mostly very wet. A few couple of days with sunny weather, but then with subtropical temps and extreme humidity... not enjoyable.
Sorry to hear that. We had that for the last two years the Summer had just past us by. Glad it returned this year though.
Lets hope it will return for you next Summer!
am happy for you. You were due a good year.
I think when I retire I will probably try and move to a warmer climate. I reall can not deal with cold weather too well.
sounds like a good plan.
do you have a country in mind for that?
Not yet, Sprite got fourteen years to decide :-)
:D :D
my husband would like to go to spain. He speaks spanish. I have nothing with spain and I don't speak spanish.
I have been to spain before in Alicante. I loved it! Could be a place I could live with. But I am like you in that respect of not being able to speak the language.
fireflies. With a lot of help from lickety. This grid and I didn't go well together at all.
Congrats, Sprite!
well, keep me posted, lol. We can always decide to find a common place and study the language together.
Would be fun, Sprite lol
:D Anything I can help with gridwise, before I go?
I will be okay but thank you for the offer :-)
have a grand day, zooz. You too, Frances. *hugs*
Toodle pips, Sprite. Have a great day!

(((JBS!!!!)))) *sniffle, cough* Aren't you glad we cannot give each other computer viruses? Hey all.
just getting in -- how is this grid
{{{{STIDDY!!!!}}} Yes, so glad. You would not want this headache tonight. Glad I'm not sneezing, that would HURT!
i'm finding it a very slow plod - many weird words (so accctually what's new)
ty JBs. got e words.
This grid, this here grid, this grid that you see over there - it's a twisty turny sneaky little thing that coughs up words just where you're convinced that there's no possibility of another word from that particular tile or group of tiles.
hi stid. tough grid. hope to get half way.
not sure i will.
YW, mkg
Even though it's not greyed out yet either (the tile)
just found my last a.. (progress!@!!!!)
erdu is a chinese string instrument. my son has one......tried ardu and wont take that either. and ordu.
yeah ruru!
with a pencil if you make a mistake you can er***.

Try some single celled creatures, mkg!
hm.... thanks for the organisms, JB
AM 5/12
drome is not a word?????????
wow.. I read that as orgasms for a half second :D
Careful how you type, stiddy, ruru is around, and he might deliberately misconstrue...
Or not deliberately. Put your glasses on, ruru!
well ruru -- you know we could all use a few more of those OR words... ;-)
Musing on how many more players there would be if there were more OR words, stid...hmmmmmmmmm
ty JBs. got two. ty.
LOL JB!
there would certainly be a lot of misspelling in the chat
Keep going, mkg, there's one more latinized plural
haha, ruru!
instead of OH.. I get the clue.. it would be oh oh oh ooooooh I get the clue
Does anyone remember that week we had several grids in a row with a bunch of HO words? And I made the mistake of saying I needed more HOs???????
I'm losing it over here, ha ha ha, laughing til I'm crying.
good thing we don't have Ps, right JB?
Bros before HOs, stid!
Imma gonna hafta if you keep going on!
brb
i still have no 8s or 9s. clues welcome...cant believe i have neither of those.
anyone have the last cl/7/36?
Wow, ruru and stiddy, this grid is rather bawdy in itself, with some of those ri words, leading to ar words that end up in la words (flirtatious banter to sensuous excitement to birthing a child)
opposite of opening
cl 7/36, what families of missing persons are seeking
thank you BW
thanks jb
sorry cl 7/36
:) ruru
still missing one damn c
well i finally got one 8. whew. but please please can anyone clue me a 9 with stat? ty.
I have all the c's, ruru, whatcha need?

*waves to Origami*
Se9...water wood p,
ty phaeton. will look for it.
I think he's ignoring you, stid, are you trying to outgroan him?
:D
Yw mkg
phae, water wood, as in boats? or driftwood? also what does the p mean????
thanks for those, ri words, JB!
and TE 9/72 (pl of TE 8/55) - hot beverage +plank
so you have co 6,24, ruru?
*giggles found the La5/14 word.. this is a sex driven grid
I have all the c's now .. thank you bugs
Thought you'd clue in on that, ruru!
IF there were a K letter tucked up in the upper right, we'd even have the 2-word title of a famous how-to manual that is appropos to the theme of this grid.
Howdy all
Hi, origami!
hi ori
hey origami
oh! NBT!
does anyone have further clues for the se 9? i just cant see it.
Yay stid
Yay, stidmama!!!
roti
ooops
Ocean plus planks, mkg
ok i just got the se 9 and the 8. ty for the clue. finally got it. great clue.
Thanks, stid, had that one already :)
ty jb.

stid, you continue to delight and amaze :) hee hee
ty for TE 8/9. got it.
Oh, stiddy, thought of you this week when my friend showed me this FB post: Hey Starbucks. If you gotta name your drinks with stupid language, don't roll your eyes when I order a gitchy gitchy yaya mocha choca latte.
rofl, JB
ruse
sorry :-(
Correct, origami!
I have heard rumors that the penalty box has beeDn closed. True? I hope not. I could use some chocolate and a drink :
I just have like 10 more S and T words to find, then I'm done.
Who closed the PB? and why would they do that? Is it permanent, or just undergoing renovation? I didn't see the notice, doesn't that have to come forward in a public referendum
wow JB. I am only down to 189, and will stop at halfway.
?
Sheesh, my brain is ricocheting all over the place. Ping ping ping!!!
I don't know JB. I think we need a broadcast about it. Hey, you know, we could just reopen it. I hereby declare the Penalty Box is open for business. There is wine. There is chocolate. Come one, come all!
it's probably the valve lifter jb :D
No way related to the large white chocolate raspberry coffee with 3 espresso shots from earlier today...
mmmmm. yum on the coffee!!!!
I miss coffee.
no coffee, origami?
stid, the coffee counter at my hospital is called Dr. Coffee, and the menu board features Remedies. Oh, yes, that is a good remedy for Friday sleepies!
I need coffee laced with Vitamin C and echinacea right now... and probably acetaminophen for the fever...
Ha ha, ruru, I saw that :)
Yeah, it gives me heart palpitations. I can still drink tea and half-caff.
wow
Oh, stiddy, hope you feel better. Ironically, if they served coffee with those additives, they would need a medical license of some sort...
I better not mention what gives me heart palpitations
palpitations are no fun -- I like tea also... ;-)
I think we already know, ru!
I really, really love coffee. I was raised on it. My mother would get up in the morning and start the old school percolator and when it was done she would holler out "Breakfast is ready."
Yay, PB is open! Now, who has the key to the whirlpool? (going way way back, kids!)
I will, JB -- it's a teacher thing -- the beginning of year cold -- I a pretty sure. Hoping it won't get more intense than that (usually doesn't)
anyone have the re 8/45 please?
ori, I went the opposite way - only tea until I was 25, then I discovered the goodness of coffee.
oh, I think Wolf still has the key, JB -- maybe we can jimmy the lock?
re8 - to greet a soldier again?
Make excited again, ruru, along the theme of the grid. I somehow feel like I'm encouraging you, but it's all factual and objective!
thanks doren
this grid is annoying
REALLY JB???? REALLY???????!!!!!!! this is RURU you're talking to!!!! *shakes head in disbelief*
happy to help it was my last... just found it myself need any more clues?
You know, stiddy, evidence in the chat log notwithstanding, we are most of us adults here, and I think we can dispose of the gate/fence for the PB, yes?
don't know.. i'm struggling with this grid with new words
who said anything about closing the pb??
Besides, most people would rather drown in beer/wine than a jacuzzi...
*wicked mama grin* what else are you planning on dispensing with in the hot tub, JB???? ;-)
help with BA 7/36 pls
There are 2 re8/45s ruru, did you get them both?
yeah ru, I needed to resort to morewords for a lot there
yes.. r's are done
that's a hound, wvt
floppy dog, wvteach!
oh -- I thought you were talking about the hot tub and the cabana boys... *sigh* There I was, all ready to ask my cabana boy for a daiquiri
cabana boys have been on strike
I can't remember Dorens. But it is open for business again. In addition to chocolate and wine, I am adding coffee.
You can ask ruru <smirk>
Oooh, and cabana boys.
Tom says he is not on strike...
have BA 6/24 as floppy dog - can't pl it - how do i extend it
was never closed as far as I know. people can ignore it if they like though
DHs rarely are, right stid?
*do we want to see Tom in Speedos?
redo the last letter, wv
teach, double both consonants
my DH is lovely... he makes a great cabana boy, too. Wish I had a picture of him when we first met, he rode his bicycle every day and had such GREAT legs! I keep trying to talk him into a utilikilt, but so far no luck.
thnx dorens - getting frustrated - thought i tried all cobinations
speedos do not look good on ANYONE, ruru! *shocked mama look* the very idea!
LOL, stid
yw. and I'm signing off. (speedos don't look good on Michael Phelps???)
My late husband was really, really hot. But there is no way I would ever have let him wear a speedo.
nope. I would prefer him NOT in speedos... ;-)
wait for it...
rofl..... *giggle giggle*
:D
*wonders if I finally managed to embarass ruru*
no.. not even close
oh, this is gonna be good...
THERE. halfway. goal met. Now to look pitiful and see if the cabana boy can bring me a hot lemonade with rum in it....
Just tell him you think he would look great not in a speedo...
Thank you so much for the companionship and the giggles. I miss you-all! Really hope you have a great weekend, and since I am indisposed, will hopefully see a few of you again in a few hours! ****choclits and MJCLs (caffeine-free) for all!!!!**** *poof*
<waves> bye, stiddy ((hugs))
** finito ** last word CL 7/36 (second one) - same ending used in seeral other words
WTG, wvteach! This is a biggie to get through!

Good night, everyone, FW for me, too, and I'm done! Thanks for the word play and the laughs. May you all finish before the flip! Good night :)
Nice lunch. But I am signing off also. Good luck all.

i'm suddenly having classic movie cravings tonight
i wonder if i will feel like fulfilling them tomorrow
ok, not even morewords knows that ba7
clue?
type of hound with long ears and sad eyes
that's the ba6. what's the 7?
double the final consonant
ha. Not in morewords.
but definitely in PG Wodehouse
re6/24?
(as a proper noun)
isn't that capitalized, for the dog?
ben stein was going to bo4 ferris bueller that day, and the next day he would re6 him
tx
the single consonant ending is the dog, the double consonant the internet doesn't seem to know at all.
I hate these non-words.
yes, the only context in which i know it with double cons is PG Wodehouse, and that's as a proper noun. Sir Watkyn and his daughter Madeline
re8/45 before to close a package again?
please??
please? last word!
found it! FW!!
