really, those tickets were a gift from the universe. there is NO WAY we could ever afford seats like those, so to have them handed over was beyond amazing. There were a million reasons to bow out, stay home, "be adults" and get things done. But screw it. We threw it together, headed to town, threw caution and reason to the wind, and it was terrific.

Rehoboth beach is about 80 miles from us. However, I could spit and hit the Delaware River right now.

is the delaware river nice? i think of rivers as being horrible and dirty and rat infested.
but that is because in my youth they were so horribly polluted.
It is very nice. We never go in the summer, though. Traffic is hell and it gets too crowded. We usually hit it in early spring (before Easter) or after Labor Day.

rubber as in eraser right? we never called it a rubber. and it was common to have it thrown.
slates' in school was before my time. my class was the first one to use ball point pens though. the ink well holes were in the desks still of course for many years.
It was a large wooden block with felt covered sponge to wipe the blackboard with.

Aw, shucks!!! You're so kind to have remembered it! Each of mine has their own (she with a teddybear; the boys with a black bear and moose, respectively). Oh, she's 16 now.

You know...you can still do it with your grandson! Just start taking a photo every 6 months or at least once a year on his birthday. You'll be surprised how he grows between now and then! (also, it makes a great "wedding" gift! - something they definitely wouldn't expect!)

I love seeing how fast I can get most of the grid done.. that's just me.. some are way too hard to make a lot of progress though
i'm kind of a competitive person by nature
and definitely OCD when it comes to this game
I try to stay up & finish the grids; but I no longer can stay up as late as I used to when I was working. And this grid is harder to me tonight.
I just can't compete with all the speedy Babblers anymore; I fall asleep instead
