thanks Peach, don't believe it has been called
Thanks, Peach
is that mo word a normal word?
monkeyed it but have never heard it
ah thanks flosey
It's a part of a 7/8/9 combo, if that helps.
I have mo 7/8 but not the 9 :(
thanks sam , I will find it I am sure
OK - got it.
Then you probably have not found the common suffix in the top right corner yet. It's a dense grid to be sure.
Had temporarily forgotten about that suffix.
perhaps because I'd normally have spelt the base word with a different final consonant.
Me too. I think maybe that's a Brit/American spelling thing? I'm not sure.
got it - never heard of that word
I'm a Brit - but I'd still have spelt it differently.
A type of lock, Sandy.
Ooops - probably shouldn't have said that.
I thought it sounded like a type of death lol
:)
oops I probably shouldn't have said that either
A
good morning all

We're very well. Did you have a good time with Caya (stupid question)
hehehe yeah it was terrific.
Hey Sprite, Have you finished yet?
It will be nice. It's all part of trying to find a way of using a part of our garden which is pretty unusable at the moment - steeply sloped.

Enjoy your afternoon.

didn't take for you either, I bet :(
No. Was totally outraged.

How can there be another 100 words?
it's definitely a tight grid for one so big
I must've worn that gerund suffix out!

Mostly well. A little sad because I put my dog down this week. She was in pain a lot.
phantom: stiletto(s)
((Samantha)) I am sorry for your loss.
Was she of a good age?
Thank you very much. I'm a little sad but I don't feel *bad* if you know what I mean; it was the right call.
Ah that is the best thing you could of done then. no good letting them suffer.
Good phantom, EvaNadine!
Very nice, Eva!

bichon - got him to a pediatric pulmonologist yesterday. turnsout he has infant asthma, which, thankfully, is not the lifelong sentence that regular asthma is. just took his prescriptions to the pharmacy + doc thinks he should be better in no time!
What great news! I've never heard of infant asthma before
getting a chest xray for an infant was.....an adventure!
that's wonderful, Eva!
he agreed with the ped that it would probably eventually go away on its own, but i dont want my little man suffering any longer if there is actually something we can DO about it. alas, even with the insurance, the meds are kinda expensive, so i really hope this is a one-time thing!
I'm done. Any clues needed before I leave?
Congrats, Samantha!
Not for me...But thank you.

Hello Byz and everybody
Hello, Ruby :-)
Welcome back ruby
How is your weather, zzoozz? I imagine it's similar to here
Not too bad here. Mild. It was sunny earlier but looks like it is trying to rain.
How about yours?
still chilly here
Thanks Bichon. There's been so much rain, after a dry winter, that it's as green as Ireland!
And every day there are more flowers
Sounds like your garden is in full bloom then, Ruby!
We are supposed to get 2 and 1/2" in Sat.
It's well on the way -- first roses are open (many and dark violet-pink) and peo nies almost
And deck is planted
You have been busy then!
I got part of the way but needed help for the rest. It was too hard for me. I can plan and purchase, but not execute!
I love this grid, but I'm leaving with 116 to go.
I love this grid but am leaving with 116 left
Have a nice evening, Ruby :-)

finally, down to 100 left, taking a break bbs
down to 100 - time to go fix some dinner - BBL t o finish
Just off to bed. Peri. it is Bi 5/18...The DEF : a round, flat, leavened, soft roll made of white flour, having a crusty bottom and a depression at the center that is typically filled with an onion and poppy seed mixture.
They sell them in bakeries that specialize in Jewish pastries like rugelach and knishes.
i've been working on this grid much too haphazardly
And when I offered to bring fresh bagels to Ru when I flew out to California, he said he'd prefer a bi5/18.
hi all back to find more. any clues for the i words for the i in fourth column third row? thanks
st 6 27 rhymes with a type of car that was famous for the "dart". just change first letter from the D of the car to st instead.
any clues for the in 6 or 7? ty
nm got it
el7?
they are yuuuuummmy
ah, ty for bi5. have not had one for a long time. must look for them
but I do love a good New York bagel too
Bi5's are a piece of heaven
el 7 - one of the top 1%
ty blah
I will have to check out the local Jewish delis.
yvw
Thanks for that bi 5. Must be an American name - never heard of it.
just found my last b
there are various spellings of it
haven't had one in ages
I last had one during the holidays
Googled the bi 5 - looks like a platzel to me
But they're yummy.
they are the BEST
fattening though..
So is there a difference between a bi5 and a platzel?
anything yummy is always fattening
never heard of a platzel
Perhaps that's what they're called in the UK.
is it an onion roll?
Yes with some poppy seed. The images look similar.
Time for breakfast. BBL for my last 36 words.
Oh. Ru is still into the fattening thing. *Passes Ru the carrot and celery tray*
yeah.. well.. my right thigh probably still weighs more than you molly
you are all killing me.
can I have some hummus with those mollY?
I seriously doubt that Ru. And it is just okay to indulge in something tasty now and again, even if you are trying to eat healthier.
I have tried so hard to get into hummus. However it still tastes like seasoned drywall paste to me.
there are different kinds of hummus. I like the roasted garlic
i like the roasted red pepper ones
i don't eat a lot of hummus though.. there've been a lot of recalls with food poisoning issues with them out here
seasoned dry wall paste.. hmmm sounds delish
snap, spackle, and pop
lol
1 or 2 chorizo - peel, cut into v. small pieces, shallow fry in a little olive oil for 5 minutes...spread over a small mountain of hummus and serve with flat bread. People go mad for it.
esp nice if you can make the bread yourself
That sounds good
I like chorizo
chorizo does make everything taste good
I thought ri7.44 would have something to do with bread making - but it has to do with laughter - new one for me
Hi all
morning Liz
Morning Lyn
How do we recommend a word to be added.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictio\nnary/bling
Its in the Merriam Webster dictionary
As DrG doesn't mnake any $ from this game, I understand he is unwilling to change anything...we are stuck with an outdated version of Enable
The game only accepts words from a particular version of the Enable Dictionary. There are loads of omissions and some very odd inclusions. I guess you'd have to contact the publishers of Enable!
stuck - but happy nonetheless
You get used to the weirdness of it :)
I think most people will have tried bling in this grid.
Okay:)
Bye all
:)
Have a good day, Lyn
Hello babblers
hi ori

not here - working with the list now :)
grrr, four stumpers left
hi folks - just posting a 'thinking of you' message for cybernan - severe flooding expected in her neck of the woods. i hope she's on high ground and that it doesn't get as bad as predicted
(and as far as this grid is concerned, i quit with 87 left)
hi welki
where is nan?
hi, harry - she's in kelowna, british columbia
wow 10 to 20 mm of rain
i think that parts of the area have been evacuated - 70 mm predicted by tomorrow
!!!
what is that in inches?
3 inches of rain, plus snowmelt
we had horrible flooding here in 2013 - the snowpack here is thicker than then and, if we get rain or very warm weather, we could be facing another disaster
sorry welki. do you have a basement?
oh - by 'we,' i meant people in southern alberta. my house was not affected
our sump pump worked for 2 weeks very frequently this spring
one of my friends runs an animal rescue - typically a few dozen dogs and cats. during the flood, she fostered over 700 displaced animals. hundreds of houses, farms, businesses were destroyed, so i'm concerned about nan
If I see her I will convey your thoughts
here are some pics of the local flood from 2013 https://tinyurl.com/kandqle
thanks, harry
those are some muddy cars
I hope nan is ok
(looking at those pics, i suppose floods look pretty much the same)
13 s words to go
hi everyone -- 270 to go :(
4 here :) are you dry nan?
I'll take clues for the 8's and/or 9's. 😉
2 to go - both se7/28
apparently setlist is not acceptable. a word frequently heard around grateful dead shows in my day
yes -- we are on view property about200 feet above the lake
done!
aah good nan.
grats, harry
I have to run... enjoy your views of the filling lake!
how about your area?
we're ok - this weekend will be lots of rain.
good night!
good night harry

Fun grid, but tough too
I can't find anything for the second column I...?
i, in case the capital I was hard to read lol
Ugh and I meant the fourth column, second from right
it's a combo word & then a pl.
(very twisty, in 6/30 & in7/44 - in is the first word )
Got 'em! Thanks Nef!
YW (nice to know I still can help someone -& they understand my poor clues!) ;-)
I'll take any clue I can get - and yours worked fine!
Thanks for reading my story the other day also :)
will you have headaches forever?
if so, why?
(I'm an old nurse & am always curious; if I'm too personal, just tell me)
I don't know if I will or not, but 5 years later I still get them periodically. No rhyme or reason i can find (and I've kept track of several possible factors). They throb at the aneurysm site in the left back/base of my head, so it makes me think it's somehow blocking a little and pulses with my heartbeat. Then I get kinda "stupid" I call it, and think slowly and get fatigued. Neurosurgeon says I'm "cured" so the headaches are a crappy side effect, but I get to live so, fair trade lol
I've joined a few online support groups and headaches are a common thing, whether unruptured (like me) or ruptured (usually ruptured are far worse, but sometimes they get lucky).
Yes, you are lucky indeed! I think that your story was tough to read for me because I've seen so many who weren't slouchy over the years.
I spent most of my professional work life working in CV ICU (a total of 34 years in ICU); but we'd get overflow patients when the other ICU was full or the patient was extremely complicated.
Yes, they aren't to be fooled around with when lucky enough to be discovered ahead of time. Lots of good survivor stories I've run across though! I am certainly grateful for all my blessings - mine, had it ruptured, they said would've killed me before an ambulance could arrive. It was the size of a red globe grape - most aren't so large! And it's in my left vertebral artery, at the basilar junction (I don't have a right vertebral, either born that way or because the aneurysm caused it to atrophy).
(& I meant "so Lucky" - not "slouchy"in that previous post)
I spent 4 nights in ICU after my first surgery, and my favorite nurse I had came and held my hand after my husband went back to the hotel for some sleep and I was having an episode of nystagmus that scared me to pieces!
WOW!
That was a huge aneurysm! and then not having a right vertibral artery is different too.
Some nurses are worth their weight in gold ;) I had another that I'll always remember that finally listened to me, after three awful angiograms, and figured out I'm allergic to Fentanyl (gives me bad nausea/vomiting). I had the pleasure of seeing him again the next time around some months later and thanking him for listening to me and fixing my problems with the meds!
Yes, I'm a special case lol
Nystagmus is crazy. I can't imagine how horrid that would be mohave it. My hubby has MS; and the docs (& I) can cause it by having him glance quickly to the side; but he doesn't seem to be affected by it for some weird reason.
Aww, that's so sweet to hear that you had a good nurse. (Did you know it's Nurses Week right now?)
It sure caught me off guard! I didn't understand, I just felt dizzy and then vomited. When they explained it, it made sense, and luckily it was a fleeting case.
LOL! I've been an RN for nearly 50 years now (but had to quit back in 2013 due tooth my health & my hubby's) And in all those years I've never been able to tolerate vomit.
I didn't know it was nurses week. Good nurses make patients feel at home, and like people, not just bodies with numbers on them. I make darn sure to thank the ones that earn it. I do my best to be a good patient, but it's tough when feeling so poorly sometimes.
hello, i have a missing il6. can anyone help?
Haha, you couldn't tolerate vomiting patients? That'd be tough! I can't tolerate it in myself at all, but I've held the hair of my daughters plenty and don't flinch a bit.
Onpaki - I only have the one that's "the most sick"
and I don't have an il 6 yet (thanks for that 1, firefly)
the other il6 comes after that one, as shown on Lickety's
and probably has a plural as there's an il7 right after
Il 6= sick + not heavy
aha! good one Nef
and the plural then works too
firefly, the thing about working in ICU, we had mo4/5 of our patients were intubated & on breathing machines. I'd explain to my patients that if they felt nauseous, I could give them medicine to get rid of the nausea, but if they threw up I probably would join them. ;-) Not many of them liked that idea...
yep
(I need to go check my laundry, BBS.
Oh my! I had so many anti nausea meds once, and not one helped. Fentanyl just doesn't agree with me!
I must be off myself, bedtime. Nice chatting!
Back. Niters, Firefly!
