I've got a dentist appointment for this afternoon, two fillings, am already a basket case. Am so so scared of dentists.
ah Sprite, presume dentist will freeze before any drilling? or is thought of injection even unpleasant?
So scared of dentists. I bit one once & drew blood. He refused to treat me afterwards unless I was zonked on valium.
it's even more primal than that. To have a guy poke around in my mouth, hurting me, while I am powerless and cannot speak up... too many bad memories of similar trauma. This dentist couldn't be nicer, and yes he will freeze everything, and when I raise my hand, he will stop everything at once and wait for me to speak. And my love is coming along too, to support me and hold my feet.

Dentists aren't fun at all. Last time I went she told me my old teeth have 7 cavities - I think she was exaggerating, I know they're getting soft, but I hate anyone poking around in my mouth!!
so... babble first, then decide on a slowcooker full meal, shop, put the stuff in the slowcooker. Once home from the dentist, I'll be pooped and not able to cook anymore, so the slowcooker will be great.
I still haven't made the filling appts...I have to call soon, want to keep the teeth if I can, lol

did I tell you guys that rose gave us the slowcooker as a gift, while she was here? They said as thank you for our royal treatment of them... as if it wasn't our pleasure! But the slowcooker is one of the best things ever, I am so grateful we have one now.

no, I haven't. Don is the pix man, and the poor man got tonsillitis and was too sick to sort pix. I understand he is feeling better now and has started on the huge project.
Nice gift! I loved mine last year, but it got so HOT (record breaking July) that I have not even dug it out
yeah it is awesome. Especially since I do have energy and stamina in the mornings, but am at my lowest in the late afternoon. Not having to cook then but having it all ready... it is amazing.
Sorting and editing pix is a HUGE job - I still owe the breeder (and friend) I got my dog from a lot of pix - she lost everything in that damned Butte Fire too...she's going to move to Oregon or Washington when she gets her settlement.

I know about the energy thing! But keeping the house at 81 is as hot as I can take...and the utility raised rates in Dec, so any extra heat in the house from cooking is not good. Hubby has been great with the grill!
yeah and Don took thousands of pix, lol. Most will be thrown out, no doubt, but he will have to do all that sorting.
I feel so badly for all the people who are still in temporary housing here, it's really ridiculous in a civilized society.
it never gets that hot here. Or almost never. We are lucky that way, I think.
Nice! We only had 2 days in July under 100, and they were 98 and 99, most were 104-107 and a few 109 - WAY too hot for me!! At least now it is only hitting the low 90s, and evenings outside are again possible!!! YAY!!

kam, i use my slow-cooker in summer. i put on the meat for dinner the next day before i go to bed. in the morning remove the meat and chill to go with salad that night.

I'm so afraid of fire that I don't leave anything to cook overnight. Hubby is an ex-firefighter, and I don't think he'd allow it. I know the crockpot type cooking is supposed to be safe, but we're so over exposed to fire danger here - and have had too many fires already this year.

The poor folk in British Columbia are having the worst fires ever - they have international crews fighting them now. Fire is very frightening if you've ever seen it near you - or have seen the remains of your property after it swept through and you couldn't get there because of road closures...never EVER want to see one close up again, but I know I probably will because of where I live - Sierra foothills in Calif
scary, Kam :( The school of our kids burned down when they were small. I remember, and my daughter has a lasting fear of fires since then.
I've only been 'on site' for three, but that was three too many. At least I was an adult. Your poor daughter! Fires are traumatizing to anyone, especially the youngest ones. I'm getting a lot of hangs here, need to reboot...
