it depends on how fast my disorder advances. but it won't be soon enough for me...loll
All that travelling must be very tiring for you and don though

Okay first run through and I have 57 words left. Will comeback later to see if I can find any more. Happy babbling everyone!
Good morning
Bon Jour
Bon jour
Cold morning and l'm not so great today- two nurses, masseur, but no energy
Where are you now?
stoat
sorry
l won't talk, will just listen!
I think the prolonged cold has left everyone exhausted. Your body's reaction to the cold is to tense up. We all need some sunshine to warm our weary winter muscles.
Yes
Hope you feel better soon, Ruby.
Thank you; it's just a bad morning
l think l had better call somebody
My good thoughts and prayers are out for you, Ruby.
l'mnot proud, but l sent a message to Nadia....
She has her own probles, but she calls me her little grandma
I'm glad you have someone to call. That is a comfort for you.
no stetson?
totes
sorry!
hello gran (but, of course, you're too youg to be a agran!)
long time no see! xxx
Is it grey there? lt's less cold here and the flowers continue to open, more each day, but no sunshne
lf l ever cimplain about being to hot, you can hire soimeone to shoot me!
Miserable. Grey days, chilly nights. I'm hoping we've seen the last of the snow, but the weather people keep muttering.
sorryfor typos, but l'l pretty dopy this morning
Some of my best words were typos ;)
Everyone here complains about this weather. There are often days, so ckoudy, that the lake is invisible.
You are in such a beautiful area. Must be worse to lose the view to clouds
Toddler appeared waving a book. Best I go read to her. Back in about 3 minutes when she decides to go bash a brother...
Usually, even sitting on y "throne" (the countess of Veyrier LOL), l have a beautiful view of the lake
What are the ges f the kids?
ages of*
nearly 3, 9, 13, 14, 20. She decided standing on the back om my chair and shrieking in my ear is more fun.
Toddlers and teens. Didnt think that through did i?
cute?
Do the teens help with the tinies?
Seriously cute. She has downs syndrome, and is the happiest little person I ever met. its like living with a tiny whirlwind, dipped in a sunbeam, wrapped in a cuddle
Yes, the boys love her. Eldest has left home now, so its getting easier
Do yu have animals, too? lt sounbds like a happy circus, chez vous!
We've just lost the last of the dogs. Over the years we've had quail, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, now down to goldfish.
This grid id huuuuge
What started as 23 tiny goldfish ("feeders" in Miami)in the little pond we built, with a fountain in the middle, now has 100'sa fish, some a foot long.
Oh wow!
l tried to feed them on Monday, th e firs tiume since the autumn, but they were still "sleeping" l hope, in the lud.
mud*,+ many other typos!
Sorry, was looking up Annecy on the map again. Im coming down through Switzerland in July, but the other side, hoping the views are as good as they look on t'interweb
l would love to have other animals, butt l can barely manage these two big dogs. Chickens would be fun for the dogs (butnd&ngerous for the birds). l can imagine Rufie binging them into the house
Haha! Ill bet.
Veyrier du Lac is an hour South of Geneva
l'l sure he wouldn't mean to harm them (??) but they'd be frightened to death.
Looks wonderful. Im riding down to Venice, then ferry to Greece and on to Crete
Now and then a bird flies into the house and the two dogs have a great time
What a great trip!
Cant wait. Its so cold here. Two rampaging dogs playing with chickens doesnt sound ideal ive got to agree bless them x
l think it would be fun for them, just noe for the chickens.
l no longr travel, but did a lot before, both for work and for fun, so l don't mind staying in one spot
Did all of your animals have names? Even the chickens? l love the names people give their animals.
Here, they often call their cats "minoi"
There was a spider who lived in the allysum in front of the house. She was an Argeops and l named her Callope and fed her flies. Sne was a beauty.
There was a spider who lived in the allysum in front of the house. She was an Argeops and l named her Callope and fed her flies. Sne was a beauty.
L don't like the big black ones who occasionally arrive in the house and w,ho jump>>>>. There was once a tTertaria Gigantia, almost the size of my hand, in the kitchen sink. >by the time l got her down the drain, the whole kitchen was wet
Argiope*
l love living in the country!
Bye
Didn't name male chickens or quail for obvious reasons, but yes, everything else. Ah, I treated myself to another motorbike last year, so that's how I'm heading across country now. Sorry, nipping in and out round kids etc x
Yet another real word that Babble doesn't know...stot/stots! Really surprised by that!
Morning all
morning, Natasha
hello all
I am spending a thrilling four class periods guarding the girls room today, during state testing. On the plus side - getting paid to babble!
I've done that as a volunteer before. Mind-numbing! Thank goodness for babble.
seriously
these poor kids. State mandated standardized testing is the absolute WORST
I have never seen it used as anything but a real estate indicator
I always pooh-poohed it to my kids. There's no reason to stress over it. But things roll downhill, and they'd end up worrying anyway. Pain in the butt.
yuuuup
Good day to all.
hello scrabbler!
good morning!
Trif, 40% of local parents opt out of state testing for their kids. There is a huge movement here to opt out.
I am off today and working FRi because of my on-call weekend.
I need to check, but my guess is it's much less in Texas. I only know of one person that opted out, personally.
Have come to a standstill with 60 left. Going to list...
I don't know that they CAN do that here - if they don't pass the 10th grade test, they cannot graduate.
That is different. Here the tests are used to assess proficiency levels in ELA and Math, but there are no requirements tied in to graduation.
I haven't checked into it enough to say.
the "secret" of course, is that the 10th grade MCAS is easier than the 8th grade one. The state is certainly not interested in funding another year of education
The proficiency rates are dismally low in the city schools, more so by 8th grade. It is very sad that more kids are not retained. Why move kids along that are illiterate?
the line we get is that it hurts them socially. please.
the biggest disservice tis the idea that all kids that are the same age know the same things. grouping grades by age is so stupid
Yes, please be real.
Agreed.
but there's me, trying to upend the system again....
My friend is a college professor and laments the inadeqaute writing/spelling skills of her students.
no one can read cursive anymore either.
Amen to that Scrabbler. They've stopped reading books. Even my kid, who's an excellent writer and speller, refuses to read anything longer than a Wikipedia article. Google is making us stoopid.
what worries me a lot more ( a LOT more) is that lack of cultural competency I am seeing. Regardless of religion, the Garden of Eden is the creation myth of our culture. The fact that NONE of the seventh grade students could recount it this year bothered me greatly.
Or write it. We have kids 12 and older complete surveys at their yearly visits, then sign them. Kids tell me that they don't know how to do their signature.
Perhaps each generation laments the losses but I struggle with the fact that everything I truly care about (classical music, literature, etc) looks to be going the way of the dodo.
It is very worrisome, Natasha and Trif. Kids have no realistic view of work ethic and excellence.
Every year the thing we cannot talk about, because kids have no cultural reference for them, grows. Record players, tv antennas, sleds, analog clocks, cursive, etc. September 11th is as relevant to them as Lincoln's assassination is to us.
Maybe 20% of kids are hard-working, ambitious, responsible.
Parents do not prepare their kids for adulthood anymore.
The Dunning-Kruger Effect is rampant because kids no longer understand what excellence is. The bar is set too low for kids.
Is anyone getting a warning in their URL that this isn't a secure site?
It says "not secure" in my bar. It doesn't bother me on this site.
see: every kid gets a ribbon for details
Well, what exactly does it mean? Can someone hack into my computer?
Or trophies for being on a team. For just participating.
smoove, do you have a firewall?
I suspect I do.
"not secure" usually means any info you post could be seen by others, potentially. So don't post your SS# or credit cards on Babble chat :-)
oooh! an opportunity! I still know mr hates SS# - anyone want it?
Haha...thanks all.
Often I get those warnings about sites that I know are perfectly safe... sometimes the great URL gods don't recognize the site's certificate.
Trif, is he still making your life difficult?
hes taking me back to court AGAIN on april 20th to attempt to lower my child support for the 3rd time this year. His net worth is $1.6M. I am a paraprofessional in a low income public school. So, uh, yeah.
I get PTSD walking into the court building. Seriously.
Oh, no. ((Trif))
Wow. I'm amazed the courts allow that, it seems abusive.
scratch "seems" - is.
I'm over it. My kids know who "supports" them
My mother called me at 3am frantic because the power went out. She was crying and so scared.
oh no scrabbler! Poor thing
brb - student needs me
She sleeps in her chair lift chair and was reclined. And she feared that the sump would overflow because the pump couldn't work. She wanted me to drive up--45 minutes away. I had to talk her down. My brother lives with her.
That's hard.
She already has anxiety so this set her off. I talked to her for 20 minutes and reassured her.
Oh no...that is sad and frustrating, Scrabs
Good morning everyone
Hi Car. She was worried about food in the fridge and freezer...she just feared a prolonged outage and, with no storms here, I told her that the problem would likely be fixed readily, and what we could do if it wasn't.
Only you can be so level headed at that hour. Bless you
Years of practice with reassuring people.
For sure. ((Scrabs))
She hasn't called me yet and I suspect she is still sleeping.
Ahhh...one of mom & my favorite artists is in the grid *minus one letter at the end*
Hm, I am not knowledgable on artists.
Mary Cassatt...we went to the MFA to see her work and fell in love! My mom even named the next cat we got "Cassie" after her
I will look her up.
Lovely images...many with mothers and children

Mary Ca___
but since it's Italian, there's an extra vowel at the end :-)
Finally broke 100.
thank you Natasha! that's a weird one for me..
I looked up the recipe... quite elaborate, involves ricotta or mascarpone, marzipan, cake, lemon glaze, and the candied fruit (not my favorite).
I lady I used to work with used to make it for Christmas every year. She left the candied fruit out. It was soooo delicious.
Fat content off the hook, though.
you can do everything right and still not live forever. I say, bring on the mascarpone.
I mean, not every day of course... but sometimes!
64 left and I'm sick of this grid. Off to pursue other ventures. See y'all fine folks tomorrow.
now there's a thought. I don't HAVE to finish!

okay, now I'm irked, checked "mostest" as in "hostess w/ the..." - not expecting it to be a word at all, and it says "does not exist in the puzzle" - which means it considers it a word - this was after trying the opposite - le5est - and it's NOT a word. Unfair! :P
lol
i guess cause nobody goes around saying "the priestess with the le5est"
hahaha!
** finito ** last word AC 4/5
i'm not even bothering to LOOK for S words, just typing combos of the letters, in case they connect. figuring out if they DO connect is just too much trouble!
