Good morning
hi Ruby how are you today?
Hello Deeha. The sun is shining and l'm fine again
good I'm glad you sounded down before. Doesn't the sun make a difference
Glad you're feeling better, Ruby
Thank you and good morning, Molly
How is your weather, Deeha? The sun is shining but it's not very warm -- lovely, though
And the widsteria is MAGNIFIQUE!!
wisteria*
l'msorry to have made such a fuss last evening but because l take so many drugs, l was afrid to take a simple allergy medicine
You didn't make a fuss. You were just concerned and in need of some support.
lt really helped; l got through the whole thing without scratching
And you should always wait until you check with your medical professional (not an on line one) before taking medication if you are worried about drug interaction.
yes our weather is lovely and my wisteria is ready to burst out!!
nihi
oh ive done it again!!
Does your wisteria bloom a second time in August/September?
lucky there is no such word!!
no I havent seen that. I didnt even know what it was and after about ten years it suddenly started flowering
l think it ws planted when the house was built (30+ years ago) and it doesn't always flower a second time, but it's really beautiful
A warm breeze with the scent of Spring flowers on it is a glorious thing
Yes! Wisteria outside and white lilies Inside. Maybe that's what gave me a rash --- LOL
f
Hello again
lt is wonderful and warm out. l'm on the deck having made an enormous sort-of omelet (in chunks, not in one piece) with 3 eggs, onià ons, potato--cooked in duck fat, olive' oïl and butter
HAPPY!
it all sounds terrific, Ruby! :-)
l am very fortunate
Isn't the goddess who spins webs in here -- ar7?
I don't see Arachne
ariadne :-)
phantom parish
pariah
Yeah, but Ariadne is not associated with web weaving
:-)
hello all
last column e stats?
ed4/6
hi sugg and ty
hi
good morning all. help with I in 4th column pls
l wasn't sure about Ariadne. There are tons of unrelated facts swirling around my brain.
Well Ruby, most people don't know the names of Goddesses, so you have that going for you. : )
Nickname for Harrison Ford's character in Raiders of the Lost Ark, peri.
just found it. champ, ty
Knew it when I typed it, peri!
What was her specialty?
:)
lf l Google her, l'll lose babble
she's associated with mazes and labyrinths, according to Mr. Google.
Thanks champ
So who is the spider goddess?
morning all, she wa the one that gave hte thread to get out of the minataur's maze
Ruby, you should really learn to use the tabs at the top of your screen. Have Nadia show you how. Then you can Google search and leave Babble open.
Arachne, ruby
are you thinking of the three sisters ruby... one spind thread of life, one measures, one cuts?
Wasn't the thread like a spider web? Or was that a goddess who wove a web representing the future?
names?
I think Champ had it...
Phoebe?
I didn't see it, champ. N>adia has gbeen unavailable for more than a week, hence no way out ze
Arachne
no way out of my personal maze (haze?)
3 Fates: Clotho (spins), Lachesis (measures), Atropos (cuts).
thank you Kate. lf l ever have triplets, those will be their names
haha, I couldn't remember. Used to know them all at one time... Looked at Arachne too, ty Champ.
Can anybody name the 7 kinds of angels in their heirarrchical order? l used to be ablve, now it's just seraphim, cherubim, thrones,.....
We have a Supernatural (tv) fan that probably could ;)
We used to talk a lot about religion in our office in Miaami, looking for commonalities among Catholics, Jehovah's Witenesses and Jews. Now l talk about religion with Nadia, l'm the only Jew she's ever met!
Ruby, your three plus dominations, powers, virtues, principalities, archangels.
Ruby, how are your hives
and plain old angels, nine altogether!
Totally gone, Bichon, without drugs
Woot, woot what did the nurse say about them
she never showed upbut they went away. You babblers distracted me enough so l didn't scratch
That's not nice that she didn't show up
When l called the service back, fter 8PM, she offered to come at 9:30. l said "Thanks, but no thanks3
Do you think i8t was stress related ruby?
l have no idea as they happened just after a nap -- bad dream perhaps or, as Nadia might say, perhaps a "djin"
Moslems believe in djin, related to dibbuks maybe
When I had them when I was pregnant, they just appeared. Never returned
as long as it wasn't your quince jam... :D
hahah
l get them from any nuts, oatmeal, shelling green peas and latex, all allergies devzloped after l turned 60
ha! found a 7 :D
share, pls
l Wonder if inhaling pollen could cause them
that's awful ruby... the green peas sounds a bit weird though...
They surprisedme, too, and l grew them myself with no chemicals or fertilizer
a particular way of speaking (pt for hte 7)
algot the water out of the sinkso dr7
you did say that everything was blooming... maybe you were pollen overloaded? for your peas, they may have gotten some spray carried on the wind from elsewhere (?)
also*
oooh! tytyty
that top right corner is a busy place today :)
what does it start with, Kate
l don't grow vegetables ay more- not Worth the effort
first column I
Nothing beats a home grown tomato ruby!
ty Kate
nio easy definition without usinf the root word, sorry
tomatoes are low maintenance
l have9 little tomato plants in jardinieres on the deck

I miss Motown. One of the greatest genres in music.
there's a Japanese car co too
had such a blast in Detroit at the Motown museum!!
Oh Une, lucky you to have gone there.
I liked that too Molly.. they don'e make music like they used to...
Neat! When were you there?
totally agree, Kate!
went several years ago when my daughter was getting her Master's degree at UMich
Hi Une, haven't seen much of you in a while :)
one of the many cool things about the museum tour is that the tour guides are all accomplished Motown singers!!
oh, you went too? I was actually asking Molly, how did you like it?
loooved it!
No, I have not been there. I was saying luck you to Une because she has been there.
Or lucky you
lol, I think I need more tea.. ty for clarification Mollu :)
at the end of the tour, you go to the studio where Stop in the Name of Love was recorded, and you get to line up with others in the tour and perform! LOL
that sounds like a blast!
When someone says, "Stop" to me, I say, "In the name of love!"
yep!!
hey scrabs :-)
Another beautiful spring day..so far. I think ra4/4 is coming. We had snow 1 week ago.

Or I say, "It's Hammer time!"

There must be a child around somewhere that would love a sombrero YO?
ah no, it's mine now for next year.

was hoping for another pair on sunglasses. t lvoed mine and broke them
funny to walk around town, all the folks with them. cars beeped. those who did not have a sombrero had a hat for the derby day celebration
terrible when you have the perfect pair of sunglasses but must replace them...I don't envy you the hunt for the next pa4
Oh, right it was Kentucky Derby Day yesterday...hats for everyone!
bye kate
bye TO, enjoy yoga!
could someone give another clue for di7, I don't get the Bruce Willis one.
di7 = to expire/pass on + opposite of soft
uneasy "expiration"
ty all... don't get to the movies much.
Stuck with 72 left. Maybe I will return tonight.
see you scrabs, have a nice day!
di7 also a Bruce Willis movie series
Love those movies
I always thought it would be cool if they did a movie with John McLain from Di7 and Jack Bauer from 24.
Great idea Molly. We've watched Designated Survivor" and Kiefer is just not himself
I gave up on Designated Survivor. I love Kiefer, but that show got too wound up in Middle Eastern politics. Same for Madame Secretary.
I like Tea Leoni. At least she's cast right
I love Tea Leoni in just about anything I've seen her in. Spanglish, Deep Impact, Madame Secretary.
I have a friend who has the hot and steamies for Tim Daly, but she couldn't hang with Madame Secretary either.
Madam Secretary is one of the few shows I watch. The Amerficans is another. That's ending

Name that noun Angel from Montgomery writer
Prine?
good morning ruru :)
Ding ding ding
I went to one of his shows. He was too drunk to play
That's terrible... he used to be good way back when, I hear.
I am always sad to hear about great musicians falling prey to addiction or alcoholism.
Yeah that was how i felt toi
Too
That's sad - I like prine
hi origami :)
He is a terrific songwriter
*!*-*!* Off to the farmers' market...have a lovely Sunday everyone!
Hi kate
Congrats and bye Nat
I always thought that song was written by a woman. I used to sing and play it on the guitar. Like that song.
I sure dont see the pa 7
Bonnie raitt made it a hit
Prine wrote it
cowboy meal? ruru
She did. I liked her version.
great clue, kate, ty
actually before I run off I have a question -- I understand some folks on here are "Babble Pro" and others not (including me) - how would one upgrade? I tried clicking "become a friend of babble" but think that sort of dead-ended...
I'd be happy to be supportive but don't see a hyperlink for that
Dr g is making plenty of dough from hannah 🤓
I have a link in my profile for Babble Expert... a bunch iof us listed it in profile
haha ruru
oh... duh!
Thanks Kate!
Nat...do you have the tile stats and word stat tiles below your grid?
Yes. And I just downloaded your app.
Is it possible I "joined" back in '08 and forgot I did...?
But I see my name in black in the rankings, not in red.
okay.. then you have "gone pro".. if you didn't pay the $15, someone must have treated you to the membership...
Your profile says April 6, 2008
that would be the day you first logged in though, I don't thik it's the day you went "pro"
e-mail Dr. God and ask?
nobody treated me, I probably just forgot. But then why is my name black not red/clickable in rankings...
I just checked into the chog. Are you saying John Prine died?
That is strange natasha
No gramma - we were just chatting about him
I seem to have some weird in-between status - purgatory perhaps?
Maybe things have changed... I noticed Judy Hall is also in black, rather than red. ask Dr. God.. there were some changes, and I think someone said life membership0 dropped to $10 when Sudoku became free
OK I'll ask him
thanks all
good luck
Have a lovely day!
you too, happy farmer's marketing
origami, I'm so releived. I love John Prine's music.
I like him a lot also
the black is just a setting for privacy
you can change it in your account
Rankings have been fixed. The top Babblers are back to 1030.
Hi Dr. God, thank you!
how bout that?
speak of the devil, snort!
I just saw the talk of black/red links. Not sure why some people didn't have links. I just fixed it so everyone is linked now. There used to be a Show Profile checkbox, but I'm not sure why (or what happened to it). It's been too long. :)
Thank you so much for your efforts on our behalf... Natasha was trying to find out if she paid her membership.
hoping you're raking in some dough with players with multiple identities Dr. G
cool icon. Dr God...
rururocks- Unfortunately, Babble doesn't make money. It's been totally free for a few years now. It actually loses money if we're being technical.
what about when new players sign up?
bojazz- I was a cool kid as you can tell ;)
:)
rururocks- It's all free. Babble Pro died off years ago.
oh.. I didn't know that
put it back on.. keeps the trolls out :D
Well, that makes sense of the multiple identities then.
Trolls and multiple identities have always been a problem. The only solution is to flush 'n' ban them manually.
I would not object to a reasonable fee for this game...
some games have monitors that can flush too
Perhaps you could put the payment link back in as optional?
last pa6
?
cowboy meal?
no that's the 7...
TraderKate- I killed off Babble Pro because no one was upgrading anymore. Times have changed. We live in the age of the $1 app now. I have plans in mind, however.
yeah.. like charge new players a monthly fee to play
TY Dr. God, I'd like to contribute a bit. finances are *slightly* better than when I joined and someone gifted me a membership.
Keep us informed of plans as they firm up :)
kje Hyacinth Bucket's riverside picnic..ri***** activities
or "even" golf score + man's name
ty
$1 app.. jeez
I have worked on several internet discussion boards. All of them only allowed one registration per IP address. That is the solution for multiple identities.
Unless two genuine players share a single device.
ty, Dr. G, for all you do !
MollyL- That wouldn't allow multiple people to sign up from a single home, and we have many multi-Babbler households.
ruru, I'm glad that you're flush but to impose a monthly fee could eliminate a lot of us.
stats
stats for the e?
ED 4/6
ed4/6
gramm- Have no fear. I have no plans of ever charging a mandatory fee for Babble.
morning all! left column done
Hi dan, gramma, Aloy, and Mike :)
haha dan
Ever so many thanks for keeping this up, in spite of all the hassles!
fw - any clues needed before I go?
hi Kate and everyone, just finishing but wanted to pop in and say hi -enjoy your Sunday! and congrats, kje
di7/40?
congrats kje!
movie franchise starring bruce willis
TY KJE
or... to not pass away easily
yw
pa7, please
that's the *cowboy meal*
Dr. God, true. But we also have multiple identity users from single households. It is pretty easy to tell the two apart.
even golf score + eat
I know Kate, but I am not a cowboy so I don't know what they eat.
ty Molly and Kje
sort of a word for cowboy (pa 4/6) slid into "to eat"
lol, what kje said :/
ok, must run... happy babbling
cowboys like to eat cheap
like for a buckaroo
<groan>
:D
TK is showing true grit
You're determined to rope me into your rodeo, aren't you?
Still pretty tired tjo be wrangling words ;)
just trying to corral some humor
You two are just trying to spur each other on
just feeding a lot of bull.
horsing around on Sindays, dunno...
that's not what I herd
just trying to rein in the seriousness in the chat
I am not calf-inated enough to participate.. havemercy, really tired
or chaps as that may be :D
are you trying to steer the conversation TK?
I think I'd better mooove along
is it pasture time?
Greetings, fellow homo sapiens.
taking the chop with a grain and a salt lick.
if you FW, does that mean you whinny?
Cowboys can't eat cheap.....they corral them as they do cattle!
*chog
:D ruru hi mixi and Judi :)
Donair is in the grid, but not counting as a word.
did you ever see the comedy with Mr. Osbourne?
hi Kate.
no, watched Mr.Ed.
wait for it...
It was called Ozzie and Lariat
Hi Cathy, you are close to another word though ;)
laughing myself horse :/
Hi Kate! Sorry...Hi all! :-)
love ruru's brand of humour
not trying to stirrup anything though
rein it in ruru ;)
If he ever gets married, his bridle be tortured for life.
:D
I doubt I'll get married again.. just don't want to be tied down
I think you'd look cute hog-tied and trussed up ;)
Judi was chomping at the bit to get that pun in
It is like home on the range when everyone chimes in with puns
I do look cute Hog-tied and trussed up.. but been there done that
that was a very good one!
in leather ruru?
especially with a little cowboy hat
ruru, take your hat off ;)
Ru is getting into his equine fantasies. All the elders just spilled their tea and crumpets.
naw.. just trying to rope them in
<snort> :D
Note: He said "little"
*snort*
some of those elders could use a little gitty-up
Ten gallon Ru, ten gallon hat. : D
it's kinda like toy story Molly :D
Woe to any nay-sayers.
:D
lots of those elders just like to Nag anyways
You all are just too hot to trot today.
we should take a gallop poll?
stampede of puns, I'm sitting on the fence
<---filly, not nag ;)
<---poke not cowpoke
tip cows; never poke.

I need to feed the doggies.. thanks for the laughs.
And everyone moseyed on out. The End.
Why do cows wear sandals? .....Because they lactose.
LOL! Good one, aeb!
;)
Ideally we should be making pa5/14 puns.
When cows change pastures, they have a mooring experince
Judi, there are still 1950's signs like that in Delaware. I have seen them.

*~*!*~* thanks for the help
just came back & found two words in the chat but still have 42 left
After yesterday's misery, l never expected such a good day today!
The weather is perfect and the warm breeze brings the wisteria's perfume nto the house
and then it blends with the scent of lilies in the living room
Paradise!
hi ((ruby)) sounds like you're having a great day!
Yes and hello Kate
nothing better than flowers to pick up spirits :)
This winter was so awfl that it felt like it would never end
ad 5/14, pls
l just counted the allium; what started as 5 is now 44!
hi Bichon
hi again ruby
goodbye (ad5)
di6/24 please clue?
agreed ruby; longest winter ever
change the baby? alt. sp.
There was less snow than usual, but colder and longer and no sunshine for weeks at a time
di 6/24, souynds like what you would put on a baby
exact same here, the lack of sun was horrid
ah, thanks bichon!
yvw
ad 5/14, pls
Usually, even when it'svery cold, there are occassional brilliant sunny days -- not this year
ad5 goodbye
tyvm ruby
We had temperatures of 3 degrees in the morning this winter. The most dismal, cold, depressing season ever. I can't understand why anyone likes it.
l've been reading up on angels. lt's nice to know that most religions believe in them; l can't wait to talk with Nadia about them. l'll bet she doesn't know the Arabic names
Wh likes it (besides scrabbler who is really a "snowshoe hare" LOL
But, it's cheerful and warm inside.
Not in my house! lt was impossibly cold here
not so cheerful, either
January is usually really cold, nut sunny. not this year... and we had a cold snap of 6+ weeks starting in early December -20C all the stinkin' time. Definitely the worst winter ever :)
You mean all of those beautiful French homes we saw are unheated?
haha ruby definitely a snowshoe hare :D
l don't know about the others, but the only warm room ismy bathroom
and sleeping was fine
pi 6/21 any hints?
no fireplace/woodstove ruby?
carniverous fishie alt sp
Yes, fireplace gave a half circle of heat, just enough for me and my blankets and armchair
so you spent the winter sleeping on a chair? :(
l think all fish are carnivorous; they eat each other
algae eaters only eat algae
yes, but the fish in question can devour a human in seconds if there are enough of them...
l spent the days in my armchair but it was OK upstairs in the bedroom -- great duvet
big fishies will prey on little fishies when hungry
pa 7/36, pls
times to re-ember ruby
I like a very cool room to sleep :)
l threw a dead lizard into the fishpond and one of the larger ones Grabbed it instantly
even golf score + eat
ty Kate
And the tinies who were born during the winter(what else is there to do under the ice?) are being eaten one by one
(cold plates)
l forgot about algae eaters, ru
Cheerful and warm? I guess you have to live in a well insulated house for that.
:) no need tjo thank bichon, just let me know if clue is no good...
you think?
hmm
I like my how cool
ls that a picture of Nancy Boy?
no.. it's a photo of a Japanese actor
how now Brown chow
And...not have to leave the cheerful warm house for anything, like work, or groceries, or other necessities of living.
rather I prefer my house to be on the cool side
has a pup come for a snuggle?
ty
They ate and went back out. Rufie only snuggles at special times of day, Raffie, much less
l spoke too soon, Rufe just came by for a pat
really? they look like snugglers :0
During the winter, l used them to warm my hands and feet
Same here, though my house does have heating. Marco sleeps with us and he warms up the bed.
who's the clever pup mum? ;)
Rufe sleeps near the bed (close enough for me), Raffie, just in the nearby hallway with an eye on the front door
aw... pecking order... the higher the rank of the dog, the closer to the human :)
She's a very good guard dog, too, even though she looks like a cloud of Brown fluff
the baby is the good guard dog?
Some baby!!
75 lbs
75 pound of puppy love <3
She takes the night shift butl think both of them are aware of any noise
l feel really safe
Chows are really good guardian dogs
Glad you've got them ruby...you need company the burglar alarm is a bonus ;)
And they have bad reps which suits me just fine.
I don't imagine you have a lot of crime where you live though ruby
they do? as being aggressive?
yup
ohhhh.
they are a cautious breed, very slow to warm up to people if ever
very alert and stoic, and protective
I sound like the announcer at Westminster
single person dogs - attach to only one human strongly?
Yes,and Rosie, the first one, bit the vet once (but l would have bitten him, too, as he was a nasty jerk) but l've had 7 of them, and they've never even come close to biting
:D Jill should be popping in any time now...
generally single person dogs TK.. yes
Polo, the Bichon we had to let go of, bit. We needed him out of the house because of grandkids
Bernese mountain dogs are like that...also very leery of "other" people
All correct exceept that Rufie lovedmy husband, too, and Raffie is sort of a "chippie" and gets cosy with several of my friends
ra 5/14, pls
Chows would make lousy Therapy dogs
She's also a licker
so, you've more or less socialised them?
nm
l think that you're at great risk with Yorkies
:)
yorkies are weird dogs
snappish little things :/
I hope I get to foster a Labrador someday.. always wanted one
I need a dog that likes cuddling
l've done nothing. At 3 months, all of the chows have been housebroken and they only poop in private, in the far end of the garden, behind bushes
and they all think they are rottweilers ;)
I can send you Dylan Bichon.. he's a cuddle-maniac
labs are lovely the hips are a problem though.. love them <3
What kind of dog?
There's a Yorkie up the mountain from me who yaps constantly
bichon (if you still need it) - RA 5/14 - quickly
golden retriever
Labs are lovely but are they good watchdogs?
ty teach, have it
they can be.. but generally no ruby
I would say so.. at least for alerting you.
Labs shed. Too many allergies here
ri 6/24, pls
bichon needs to adopt a sheep ;)
Hi Teach, we are deep into dog philosophy
ouirs barked only at the gas meter man who admitted that he did't like (afraid) of dogs - would "shepherd" our preschooler around the yard / nieghborhood
Mastiff's are good at guarding
if she did TK it would be shear excitement in the Bichon household
dogs do pic up on who doesn't like or is afraid of them.. I swear they can smell it. they also know who is good and who is a bad apple.
Rufie didn't like my husband's doctor and would bark the whole time hewas in the house
l love the way mastiffs look, but they're even bigger than chows, much too much dog for me!
you're baaah-d ruru. I just can't...still tired and now have sinus hedache. someone else must pick u the gauntlet
Neighbors had one. They left it out one day when they were gone. I was in my yard and it was herding me around
good night everybody, this is always a pleaasure
ri 6/24, pls
l don't even try to finish
niters ruby already?
l'd be happy to share my pa** meds; kate!
traveled by horse?
My brother has a pit bull/ mastiff mix and she's a real softie, easy going and affectionate. She's not a good watchdog at all except for how she looks.
doh, ty Kate
TV time, dreaded news and then, hopefully, a movie or two
no need tjo share, I did take a tylenol thingy... will see. I wanted to get out but...
His chihuahua on the other hand...
time to go swimming.. later taters
np bich ;) I got htat one late too...
I cannot stand chihuahuas
that's very funny, tabby
bye ruru can't even spell chiwowwas
Pomeranians seem generally bad-tempered, as well.
hi Tabby :)
they are downright NASTY..poms
my DIL loves chihuahuas -- indicative of her character
snapping snarling puffs of fur!
Poms are the BEST - smart, loyal, loving
(l hipe they're not reding this)
Dogs generally like me, but the one Pom I've met was having none of me :)
I prefer big dogs myself with deeper voices, can't stand yapping dogs. We've had greyhounds and a Dalmatian in the past.
uh oh.... (ducking)
maybe it was just the one . . .
Years ago, i lived next door to a Borzoi, big, beautiful and DUMB
I prefer larger dogs as well...
Jen - they take a while to get used to you, very discriminatory - they won't take to just anyone. You have to be patient with them, and you must, above all else, let them know you are the alpha. And you have to believe it yourself, otherwise they know & they want to be the boss.
This one definitely knew he was the alpha, LOL
l thought you were kidding, Helen. l'm sorry
See, even though they weigh like 2 lbs, they all think they are the big dog, lol
Hi Jen and helen :)
Hey TK, long time, no see.
chanelling their inner rottweiler ;)
lt would be funny to bring one in front of Rufie; he'd think it was a toy
ya, taking some time off FB.. to overloaded. doing ok helen?
My parents recently got a Boston Terrier, and they LOVE her -- she is SO smart!
The neighbor's Yorkie tried to "get at" Rufie once, but his mom scooped him up
a squeak toy ;)
Nothing to apologize for ruby, but I gotta stand up for my little guys. I've had 4 in my life (one at a time, I'm not crazy).
l'm definitely crazy and keep two chows at a time!
TK, hanging in, things have been better, but at least I'm more evened out now after a very rough patch.
ruby - like Martha Stewart? :)
Sorry to hear helen... I didn't know so sorry - glad you've trned the corner and continue the ypward swing! ((helen))
Thanks TK, you're a sweetie.
All of the brown ones (except Raffie) look just like Martha's. l don't know your story, Helen, but this is the place to be for "cuddling" and support.
<3 <3 <3 I'm not, nut you can sprad around the rumour ;)
Yeah, you are so. <3

kate great minds think alike
lol, but you have great typing skills as well!
thank you both, REAL good night
yes, I'd make a great receptionist. If only my social skills were as good as my typing skills...
ok ruby... hagn!
I have no patience for idiot public...
some of the stories from babblers on fb about their jobs. I would be jumping over the desk and throttling them all... didn't used to be so impatient.
halfway
!!!
go harry go!
I had trouble with desk jobs - people are such idiots sometimes. But 15 years with adolescents has been illuminating
most of the idiocy comes not from the kids, but from the other teachers and aadministrators whose egos are too big to fit through the door
ah... I do pretty well with the kids too. never really had a desk job.
i hate BS office politics. never learned, or cared to learn the game.
yes me too. that's why I will remain at the bottom of the ladder :)
not everyne is cut out to be an administrator. front line people are needed too. they are the ones that actually do....
but things come around our way - I wouldn't play the game early on in this job, and now 5 years later all the morons have left, and I'm still teaching my way.
I sound like a broken frank sinatra record
you never know. you may find yourself the most qualified for a promotion - IF that's a direction you'd like to explore.
woohoo found another 7! gotta run - 55 to go. bbl!
bye
I have ad7, di7, in7 and pa7 - what's my missing 7?
DR 7/36
thanks TK - would have found it earlier but I was totallly dr7
still dr 7'd here too ;) trying to muster some get up and go...
are you still melting down there dan?
*Hands Harry the fedora and the microphone.
2Bit, when were we melting?
we did touch 90 on Friday - the weekend has been cloudy but pleasant
got to 100 - 5 Pesky P's left, but no more than 2 on any other tile.
Yes, it was 90 on Friday. But not that awful, humidity laden 90 that comes later. And after this winter, 90 was a blessing
clue for the ki6?
baby goat and short rest, dan
help with di7 pls
Think of a bruce willis movie peri
thanks peri that was firewords!
i am done....*waving to the lurkers*...
The Babble rules say that the only words allowed are those that can be found in the Enable dictionary. Does anyone know whether that is the same thing as the ENABLE word list at everything2.com, please? And are proper nouns like Dane excluded?
There is more than one version of the Enable dictionary, and Babble uses an older one, so it may not be exactly the same as everything2.com (although it should be pretty close). I use "More Words", which seems to have everything that turns up in Babble, but occasionally has other words too. Proper nouns are supposed to be excluded, but there are oddities.
Thanks Gillie
yw
I think it's the same as, or at least based on, an older (late 90s/early 2000s maybe) North American Scrabble Tournament Word List (TWL). I used to have it on my computer, but can't find it. There are few that most people consider proper nouns (like nazi), but which have become "improper" :) over time.

thks Sev. I'm a bit surprised that the dictionary specified in the rules turns out to be a somewhat fuzzy concept rather than an actual, specific dictionary which everyone can access. Not that it really matters, of course, because some of the words in Babble are exceedingly rare and others are from languages other than English. Personally, I have to resort to a lot of guesswork once I have exhausted the obvious words.

Tallmike, I'll try to remember to look for my copy of TWL that (I think) matches the dictionary here and let you know. If you don't see me here, you're welcome to email me: theseverian@gmail.com
