Methinks a cruel way to begin the week... TEN 8-letter words, and six 9s... but I gird my loins for the battle...er, babble.
Good morning, all. 17 U's! Ack!
Indeed Judi... plus the dict has thus far rejected 3 real words--Japanese noodle, a crush, and a shade of brown. Grrr.
I only have 4 u's
bich, do you have the ones relating to brining together
I've found 9, but it was physically exhausting.

hi mool...
hey pen, how's the great northeast this morning?
nice....sunny.....53 and a little breeze....
how is it in CO?
a little overcast this morning, but supposed to get to 80 today
wow....
yeah, it's warmed up quick
we had a colder than normal April so 50's seem nice...
yeah, I can imagine...the weather here tends to fluctuate pretty rapidly...can even had 60s in middle of winte
we had a long, snowy winter.....and cold spring so far....
yeah, was pretty ridiculous the amount of storms
I just returned to Washington state from Vermont over the weekend and I'm freezing! it was muggy warm there and had an awesome thunderstorm except for the tornado watch that came with it!
Vermont was warm?
well, warm for me I guess it was in the 70's on thurstday and upper 60's the remainder of my weekend, but I guess because of the mugginess it made it feel warmer to me.
sore
well that's warm to me, too!.....my great nephew is in finals this week at UVM....
I was there to watch granddaughter perform in the HS spring drama production. So glad I went. Looking forward to my return trip in July-August. She'll be performing with the Waterbury Festival Playhouse this summer
nice!...
i went to the local candy shop and sent some goodies to the great nephew to help him through finals...
I'm sure that will be greatly appreciated
Goodies from family are always a good help with things like that!
yes, he messaged me and said that what i sent was perfect....he particularly liked the chocolate covered coffee beans....
it's his first year.....he said he can't wait to get back to Maine...
thatks good.
where's he going to school?
UVM....he's majoring in microbiology, i think...wants to do research....he worked at a bio research lab in Bar Harbor two summers and loved it...
50 left. Time for a break. BBL.
I was in Essex Junction. Son in law works for National Weather service. They've only lived there 2.5 years so still "new" to me. Have been at UVM medical center ER though. Great place
Burlington is lovely. Our son thought about going to UVM but ended up even further north at McGill this year. If you don't mind snow, ice, and cold, it is lovely!
Exactly how I feel...they can keep their snow and such.
well Montreal has it's share, too, lol.....love Montreal...
Gotta get to work.....bye all!
bye!
anyone able to help on the te 9?
sorry, don't have it yet...

Hi Nat, sorry, it was all that popped in my head :/
no, it's fine! I meant I was looking in the wrong direction on the grid... I get stuck only looking one way
great clue, actually
easy to do :)
and hi Kate! Hope your weather is as gorgeous as ours is today. 68, sunny, dry
and that's actually what it means too!
inashtray
damn it
little cooler today, but warner tomorrow. Weare only about 60F today.
hi ruru :)
well you have all that lake effect...
blue skies and sunshine, YAY!!!
yes, I'm right at the lake, which can keep us a bit cooler. back up around 70 starting tomorrow.
*!*-*!*
WOOOT Natasha!
your pointing me to babblexpert really helped move it along - thanks a thousand times!! Before I was double entering everything and scrolling up down and around... cumbersome!!
I only wasted HALF my day on this today :-)
Thank heaven for Lickety... I wouldn't complete most days without it
I always start out without it but can never end without it
Whatever will uoi do with all that extra time now ;)
um... the work I'm being paid to do? We have our annual gala fundraiser a week from tonight and I haven't even started writing the script...
I try to do the very small ones without it... then there'speole with really good memories that can do most without. I am in awe!
I share the awe
Uh oh.. what's the fund raiser for?
I am a long way from that
scholarships for 400+ immigrant and disadvantaged students in Israel... first ones in their families to get beyond high school
I've seen ruru do a biggie sans Lickety... someone challenged him, and he took it up :)
I'd believe anything where ruru is concerned
admirable undertaking Nat :)
the needs are real... I used to live there and saw for myself... everyone thinks of Israel as this rich developed country but there's a lot of parts that aren't...
and now you know why we thank Lickety every night at the fip :D
is Lickety separate from Dr. God? I'm a total newbie in knowing the behind-the-scenes stuff
as far as I know they are completely different people.. They may know each other though. Lickety's in Oz, not sure, but think Dr. God is as well, htoughnot sure about that.
They always present as separate peole, and I have no reason to doubt it. Think that Lickety use to play, so wrote the program for expert.
the good doctor is in Chicago
... half way and time to go ... luck to all
TY dose... nice to know. Don't know where I got the idea..assume it must be something about his schedulem so avasilability seemed like Oz,but could be night shifter as well
bye dose:)
Lickety is indeed a separate person from Dr. G. Before Lickety took on the clue list, there was another babbler who did it for a long time. Dr. G lives in the U.S. I believe.
I still remember when there was NO list anywhere (I feel old...)
Hi ch :) I've been around for a while, but there has always been a Lickety. I think it was still in Beta when I started. I had to e-mail to get it. Can't imagine doing this without a list - well, not completing anyway :/
Thanks for all the interesting background, folks!
Nor I, Kate. And it isn't even so much the weird babblets that elude me as stupid obvious stuff like doing all the plurals and pts.
It was rare for me to finish back in 2005. At that time, we relied on the amazing clues from babblers like Haz.
to say nothing of how cluttered the chog gets with clues and lists... :)
if no one needs a clue right now, I'm going to <poof>
bye Nat :) Haz is amazing! Then there's Vollymom dee and a few of the grannies that can really tear up a grid, just WOW!
BTW if anyone has a hankering to watch baby eaglets who just hatched last week get raised by their parents, visit dceaglecam.org. They are extremely cute and fluffy right now!
bye for real now <poof>
Love the eaglecams! Thanks for posting.
TY Nat asha :)
VollyMomDee does not seem to clue anymore.
I have not seen her in a long time. Nor Marigold. Marigold, Haz and Peri were babble elders when I joined.
Marigold will say hello to her sister, Peri at times but yes seldom is she in the chat log.
babies bein fednow :) Hi zooz :)
Hello, TK :-)
yes, VMD has been mostly lurking, from what I have seen :( sprite was another speedster... so many that leave me in awe! Didn't know marigold was peri's sister. Have never seen her chat much, just a clue once in a while.
I think VMD still does the grid but does not clue anymore due the some babblers being nasty to her about the Trump /Clinton saga.
Sorry to hear that zooz. That's too bad. I loved her clues and she was nice to chat with as well. I looked not long ago to see who was online, and she was there. Hope she comes back to the chog.
Yes everytime I chatted to her here she was always a very nice person to talk to.
Like a lot of babblers here in fact :-)
I do to, zooz. So many different backgrounds and interests... always lerning smething new. Babble keeps me thinking. I am friends with many on FB.
How are you and your parents today zooz?
I am doing okay thanks, TK. Mother is doing better these last couple of days. Dad has moaned it is too cold and now we have had a lovely hot day he has moaned about that LOL
I loved todays weather! nice and warm.
Hope you are keeping well still, TK!
LOL zooz, when you get old, you are entitled to be a bit fussier ;) Glad to hear they are doing well...was your mom ill? I am still trying to get caught up (without putting my foot in it)
Hey TK!
and Zooz!
Doing much better since spring has finally arrive. Truth be told, it was a very bad winter for me...but you've likely seen all the moaning, so I needn't fill you in :)
((hego)))!!!!
No worries about putting your foot in it, TK. I do ot say too much on here about parents ails. she has lots of pain when she eats. think it has something to do with gall stones.
Hiya Love
Hello, Hego :-)
sorry to hear about your Mom Zooz.
poor thing! Is there anything to be done about it zooz?
Next stage is to have cameras in both ends to see what is going on. Bless her.
gall stones are an easy fix.
Thanks, Hego. It is normally my dad that has the problems. I think they are taking it in turns lol
at least they'll knock her out for that..she can have a nice nap while they figure it out. wouldn't they do an x-ray or MRI?
That happens with older couples.
Try telling my mother that. She is as bad a my dad they will not have any knife type operations what so ever.
My dad has a massive hernia but will not do anything about it.
Oh my!
don't they have an utrasound sort of machine that can break up gall stones (don't know for sure...)
oh dear :( is dad trussed like a Christmas goose?
:)
hego, isn't there an ultrasonic thingy to break up some kind of stomes?
Mother is having more tests in the next couple of weeks to determine what to do next. Dad just holds the area and says he is fine. But you can see he is in pain. Stubborn.
Best thing for bad gall bladder is to yank it out.
but if she won't undergo surgery... :/
Had mine out years ago. Easy peasy.
I said that, Hego. I told her to have the out and be in pain for a couple of weeks and no more pain. Rather than month and months of pain.
do let us know how they get along zooz.
The surgery now is almost painless.
Will do.
they just do a keyhole incision now, is that so?
two little incisions.
I told her that it would be just a litlle hole made. Did not tell her there would be two holes.
:)
Yes, TK, keyhole surgery.
lol, son't tell her zooz... afterward, just tell her maths aren't your forte ;)
Half my family has had it done.
Well math is not my forte LOL
We tend to bad gall bladders.
lol Zooz
perfect! :D
How are you keeping, Hego? Not seen you for a while.
I'm in and out Zooz.
Been busy.
Evening all. May I please have stats for the E in the left column?
Busy is good!
EL 5 & 6
Hi Matty
EL 5/12 & EL 6/21
ES 4/4
hi matty :)
Ah, brilliant, thanks. Should have seen those!
Been enjoying the rare bank holiday sunshine, Zooz?
rehi
Welcome :-)
Most certainly have, Matty! Loved it!
Hello, Mool :-)
Me too! It makes a real change to have a whole bank holiday weekend of unbroken sunshine
hi mool :) bank holiday in the UK today? Lucky; enjoy the weather!
hi kate....when is it not a bank holiday on a monday in the UK?
Yarp - we have another at the end of the month as well. HEre's hoping the weather holds up
Should be cooler weather again by wednesday though :-(
I know. Bummer
Hey Mool!
:) LOL, as it should be mool... plenty of time to toil whenit is dreary winter ;)
hey hego, happy monday
ty :)
We have Victoria Day to look forward to soon.. unofficial kick off to summer in Canada :D
Hope it is a good one, TK!
It had better be... JK, it is almost always nice. and we have fireworks too!
(It's also planting time for gardens in most of the country...)
What will you be planting?
hi all. clues for any 9s or 8s. ty
If I try the word donut one more time I will go mad.
haha zooz. here too ;) hi mkg :)
haha
After 10 months of incessant rain and cold, yesterday & today were just beautiful Spring days. Barbeques were buzzing, horrible bare white legs were unashamedly exposed...And that was just Chez Soodle :-)
LOL Had a good time then, Soodle :-)
tomatoes, beans, peppers, melon, beets, garlic..boring stuff..and the landscaping job continues...that will take years.
((Soodle))
Nothing boring about vegetables, TK!
((soodles)) !!!
Soodle pops in and out like a gopher.
there's nothng like a home-grown tomato... heaven!
((((Hugs all round)))) :-)
Agreed, TK!
just came back inside from planting tomatoes too
There she is!
*Hugs back at you*
Hope you get some nice ones, Mael!
I'll have some annuals to pot up in badkets and urns. Then will look to the yard and get in a few more of the structural plants. Still have a few troublesome trees that need to be gone.
hi mael :)
just sauce tomatoes today, twice as many as I planted last year. We ran out of sauce last month and that won't happen again!
hi kate!
lol
you must be in warmer climes to plant out so soon mael.
Getting rid of trees can get expensive, TK!
I'm outside of boston, it's been hot
(the horror, picturing mael out of sauce...) there, there... ;)
Our Babble frien Bugsaw is coming over here in September.... Another Babble meet-up!!! I am so lookinf forward to meeting her :-)
technically I should have waited until next week but I'm leaving for italy on wed and I wanted them in the ground :)
yes, that's the reason for the slow pace. landlors is not wealthy man, so I do things slowlu and on the cheap whenever I can...
Jealous of Mael going to Italy....
as long as the overnight temps are good, you'll be fine mael. We still have a chance of frost this early - even with 70F degree days.
I think she is in for a good time then, Soodle!
Bugs is cming? How lucky you both are soodles. That will be so much fun! I am very jealous. raise a glass or ten fojr me ;)
Soodle, you will love Bugs. She's a sweetie. And very smart.
How long are you going for mael? and where?
Well, Zooz, we aim to please!!!! Previous Babble meet ups here have been spectacularly successful!
How lovely to hear that, Hego!!! Not one bit surprised, but delighted to hear it!
Nice lady.
Hi Hego
Hi Ori!
Nothing but the best people here today!
Babble meet ups are really special to me. Two so far, and both were fantastic. Babblers in person are the best!
I agree Soodle!
bugsaw is great. a great human being
I've never been disappointed by a Babbler.
Hi Ru!
:-
:-)
hi origami :)
bugsaw gets me to laugh which is great since I'm so serious all the time
Yeah right.
Yes, really ruru.. you need to let yur hair down once in a while!
Lighten up.
Pun the other one, Ru!
are you encouraging him zooz? he'll go on a spree given half a chance.
Hi Kate
:-)
BBL...
bye hego, hope you can come back later!
off to take another whack at sudoku :) bbs
Take care, TK :-)
hello
Hi cos
Hi cos :)
you need anything origami? Im going to head back to sudoku for more brain exercises ;)
i had to identify his body today and sign the papers to burn him
i'm good Kate. Thanks!
Oh, that was hard, Cos.
(((cos))) rough day, he buddy? are you alone now?
Hi cos (((Cos))) hugs & prayers for you.
Hi Nef :)
yea m alone
so I need to vent. A bit personal. Anyone mind?
can you rustle up some company or go visit people... not sure this is a good time for you be be without friends.
scream your head off cos...
For the first time in years I feel at peace.
I am off my anxiety meds. I no longer need them.
You can vent, cos. (If you want to do it privately, I'll listen)
<3
I no longer worry about the dogs. I used to worry he would pass out and leave them out which he has many times.
Are you doing okay caring for them?
I am not scared to come home to find a dead body on the couch. I do noT have to check his breathing every hour to make sure.
Oh they are being fed and taken out. Plenty of treats too
And I can go out with friends without question.
(((cos)))
I love Ryan. I want him back. But his alcoholism destroyed both of us. I am feeling like my old self now. Is that awful?
no
I havent been called a POS in 15 days.
Not at all. You two went through heaven and hell together. Yuo are justified in your feeling. Hope you are not feeling guilty7 or disloual for them.
I stayed with him for 15 years. I finally gave up back in December and told hm to go ahead and kill himself with alcoohol. I'm done.
lol if you knew how many times he threatened to kick me out of the house.. and now its mine... idk how i feel about thar
you are liberating yourself cos :)
(((cos))) It was his choice to drink. You weren't making him drink
I saw him today. I felt nothing.
You saw his body; his spirit was gone
I am happy to hear that you are able to discuss your complicasted relationship with new eyes cos.
then again it wasn't him really
right Nef
I havent felt like i was married for years it was just like a roommate situation
I was lonely. Now I dont have to be.
And his body was the weak part of him; that's the part that craved the drink
theres something else making this more complicated
lol it'll make my life sound like a soap
it's okay, cos
Grief can be cyclic, Cos. So don't be surprised if your feelings change again.
i met someone 3 years ago
alcohol destroys relationships - leaving only the shell. I'm glad you're here discussing this.. must say, I didn't expect this so soon.
... good ... remember that ... you can mourn the past but you can't regret it ... ... you can only remember what was good and learn from what wasn't ...
orgami i expect myself to break down in hysterics tomorrow or something..
this guy I met.. we didnt u know.. we just met. but nothing else..
weve been talking 3 years someone i could vent to
yees
Noted the "met someone " comment... Is the fumeral tomorrow cos?
you may, cos; but don't forget: that's part of how grief works
he happens to be my neighbor lol oh god
its such a mess my life lol
but ryan slept on the couch i was in the bedroom. he never said he loved me for 3 years
it is a terrible thing to say cos but I know how you feel. \i alweays made a joke saying if John goes first look up at the funeral and if you see a plane going over I'll be on it!It wasn't quite like that the first rtimefor 35 years I was free to be myself and make my own choices. Time for you to do it too cos and good luck to you
cos; it would be wise not to get involved right now; try to remain friends because this is wya too soon for another relationship.
but i refused to leave him. I made a vow to him and God and gay people fought so hard for the right to get married. i couldnt leave him.. oh Nef, i m nt getting involevd with anyone im too vulnerable
im in no shape mentally or emotionally for that
... good ... vent to him and let him vent to you ... maybe something good happens maybe it doesn't ... ...
im just saying him next door makes it complicated u know?
It's good you recognize you are vulnerable now.
thanks (you know I - for one- would worry about that)
dose said it right
but he respects that.. he hasnt said anything or done anythng.. i just been hanging with him in his yard
tend
oh oh oh guess what happened this morning?
the shower in the master bedroom broke. no water coming out.
Is that the 2nd shower now?
(I thought you said the shower broke the other day)
yep
oh by the way if anyones interested...
well, just watch that he isn't turning into the swooping vulture you joked aboit the other day... you're right. It will take a good deal of time for you to get everything sorted out emotionally. If you think you might want something real with this guy later, you need those boundaries firmly in place.
https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obitua\nries/colorado-springs-co/ryan-corwin-7\n841439
agreed kate
2 x /n alery
alert*
So now you have to get both showers fixed. Do you have hard water there?
no im stressed lol
se 8/40, pls
cos, the reason I asked is that hard water can have so much calcium in it that it can plug shower heads.
hmm ok. thank you
i asked a friend whos husband is a plumber just now too
sounds like thecomponent of SSRIbich.
looked up definition bichon and it is late in developing
If you have hard water, you'd just have to unscrew the showerhead from the pipe and soak the showerhead in vinegar (I use warm vinegar because it works faster)
ugh sorry for scrrwing up chat
it will fix itself cos, n worries
ends with prong of fork
just put a new poem on my profile that might amuse you
oh ok thanks ill tryt hat!
cos the website took me to an ad & then sites to look up criminal records!
so the funeral isn't until the 11th?
cremated today
i had to go sign to give permission like 4 hours ago
that was private though cos... today, I mean?
lemme try shorturl
try this http://alturl.com/izrqb
yes just 4 of us, his mom, his bro, me and his best friend from childhood
cute poem, Deeha! :-)
there were x baclslasj n's in the addres Nef, you have tjo take them out...
but i was the one who had to sign to give the go ahead to brn his body ugh
despite all our problems i miss him terribly
I like it!
something I found that helped oddly enough cos was to move all the furniture around
I'll bet you do cos... you are used to having someone around - god or bad. Yu will be creating a new normal.. and you certainly are entitled to miss him - especially the old Ryan - from when you two were new <3
se 8/40, pls
he was 34 years old. 34!
ends with fork prong bichon
That's a good idea, Deeha; changing something in the space may help, cos.
is that the same one? se + decay + not out + vowel
same one
he may have been 34 cos, but his body was pretty ravaged :( age is just a number.
It never makes sense when someone young dies. No matter what, it's downright senseless; even if they "lived right"
ok im selfish maybe but u never expect this to happen in your 30s
don't see how that makes you selfish cos...34 is very young these days. It's not the1400s any more...
ty Kate
it's very sad for someone so young, cos.
ugh just sent a request to FB to memorialize ryan's page so they will stop sending me game requests with his name
So, you're feeling serene now cos? When did this start?
cos, the body can't hold up to repeated abuse like that. I told you about my brother; he's also gone through DT's 3 times & has liver disease. He's now 65; but looks much older.
im not serene im a roller coaster lol
My brother passed away when he was 53 through drink.
brb neighbor here wanting to grill out
a bit concerned with the quick turna around.. and leaving off the meds so quickly...
Some anxiety tablets are okay to leave off but anti-depressants are not.
I don't know what meds he was on or the amount he's been on.
I scrolled back he said he left off the anti anxierty, didn't say anything about anti depressants. Even anti anxiety should be tapered - especiall if higher dose or daily use for an extended period.
one of the --pams or ---lams, surely. clonazepam or alprazolam likely?
For anxiety I take propranolol.
te 5/12, pls
sorry, bichon, I don't have it yet but am looking
TE + not out + consonant
ty Nef
thanks, zoozz
I just looked into that zooz. Interesting - off label use of a beta blocker! Does it work well for you?
ty zooz
actually, very common use of a BB
as I see kje.. had no idea!
and safer profile than the benzos... kudos to your doc, zoozz
propranolol has been used for several decades by speakers and others who are afraid to get up in front of crowds or that type of thing.
Seems to work for me, TK. does make me feel a bit sick at times though.
Thanks, Kje :-)
I saw that.. Nef. Very interesting for social anxieties will like ly read more later.
I've known several people who have used it sporadically for anxiety like that.
even if you rake with food zooz? Might it be the anxiety itself giving uou a wobbly tummy?
I use Prozac for4 OCD
*yake
does that do the trick for you bich?
good gried... take**
Yes, very much so
glad you found just the right thing for you :)
Could be, TK I am not too good with large crowds or being squashed up in a lift with people etc.
It took a long time and a great doctor.
Hopefully you don't have to deal with that too often zooz..
It seem s to take so long to find just the right drug in just the right do4...
ஜ۩۞۩ஜ F.I.R.E.W.O.R.K.S ஜ۩۞۩ஜ
At long last! Had to use morewords for the SC 8 ,9 & 9
