hello crossy - have enjoyed your puzzles on jigidi
wow cross. very interesting. dont recall a 744.
how do i find the puzzles?
Howdy, Flosey, wvteach. :)
hi crossy.....do you know when that grid occurred?
Been a while, mkg, but i think you type my name in the seach engine on Jigidi, and my puzzles come up.
crosshair?
just checked on Lickety and it just says April 21 but not the year - it was 2 -3 years ago (I think)
Stats for the 9/10 pls?
yes, i would have said about 4 years ago....
Hold on, MKG my computer is bogging down atm
its ok. i went on jigidi and nowhere to search for a name. so thats ok.
TO....there is a so 9/60 x 2 and so 10/77...
owl, scroll back in chat and someone typed in the 9 and other 9 change last vowel and then 10 plural
here is the puzzle for those who wish to try it: https://www.jigidi.com/solve.php?g=5&i\nd=W32L0R25
mkg - when you are on jigidi, click on tab "Puzles" then you will see "By User" and that would be where you enter crossy
Ty pen. On my cell and beginning to wonder if I was really connected
ty
I see there are 10 ce words... as my bubbie would say, oy vey...
Just type in "crosshair" to see other puzzles I have posted.

no idea you had puzzles on Jigidi, crossy. I will look as soon as I get three more words - a round 300 is good enough for me.
heading out....bbl to try to find the remaining 175 words....bye all....
hi/bye pen - good day
Hi. I am just dropping in. Is anyone else missing letters? I have in the top row A nothing NNE and so on
tried refreshing the screen/browser?
504 is too many words. I usually only play little grids, but this one might be worth it.
Yes and different browsers
reboot perhaps? dunno...
If I highlight and past into a word document it works. Totally weird
first 100 are easy.
eros
eros
sorry - thinking about sex i guess
why isnt soso a word? my father always said it was soso....
if at first you don't succeed jw
On that note I give up on trying to figure out where my missing letters went. Have a good day.
don't you start, ru. I can't concentrate on the grid if I have to be laughng.
herin turn off your computer and maybe..........
hi herin, long time no see
besides, you missed my grid-stone pun --

hello everyone - just finished sorting out the chat --- didn't take much science in high school so have no ideas on that ab 7 either
hi cyber
i got in someone's bad graces the other day for too generous a clue, so I'm trying to be careful
i thought the science one was an ab5?
don't wish to offend anyone!
do whatever you want natasha
trif is their more then one ab5?
well, natasha, I flat out TYPED the tricky so9 into the chog this morning by accident, so you will get no grief from me!
sometimes a bit of a narrow bridge between under- and over-sharing
i dont know mkg
f not its what is the book ab***?
lol trif saw that
trif can you "accidently" type it In the chat again please?:D
touts
loll, no dear, you will have to read the archives, pet. Surely you could that
:)
MLFAN, did you ever play piano? it's the middle pedal...
type one I haven't found yet please nrl ;)
is the ab 7 a scientific term? subject?
can't say subject as it's part of the word. that's a hint :-)
thought the middle peddle was the mute
Natasha for the so word? I did keyboarding but not piano cant use the foot pedals
aviosette
don't mind me -- wrong box
under 200 to go...feels like I've completed a couple of grids already
also...there is no V

trying to get half way. ugh.
no chem or physics not much of biology, so absoutely clueless
it's a marathon mkg
ugh
nan, a and then the shortened version of the class about plants and animals, then ending. use more words if you need to.
First time I've seen bi4/6 in the grid. "Look, if I were to go around saying I were an emperor just because some moistened **** lobbed a scimater at me, they'd put me away."
its the ending that has me stumped, mkg - and I hate using morewords
nan, imagine plural and then plural again with vowel inbetweet
in between
ty mkg
so I guess I gotta pick him up tomorrow
bi 7 please
Hi cos. Must you do it? sounds like you don't want to yet.
if i dont his mom will claim it
wasn't that the plan? you were having some made into a small pendant or something, she was getting the rest? have things changed
cos I know the separation is impossibly hard for you right now, but think of Ryan being in a much better place and released from all the pain and suffering he endured during his illness.
found the bi 7 nan
clue please?
oh geez I used morewords for that ab word finally
starts like flora nd fauna science ends
with a 4 letter movie title sci fi...

sorry about that awful clue, still working on my second tea here :/
70s movie starring Jeff Bridges :)
Or early 80s
but if they don't know sci fi... good clue though mag mom...coudnt think who was in it.
I just remember animation in it
******* got it a long time ago - lol
off to get a hair cut -- bbl
It should end in not off?
bye nan
got the bi7
have there been clues for so series up to the 10?
yes, even free giveaways :-)
yes mark.. if you read the chog from a few hours ago, one of the 9s was accidentally in there
along with a few other hints
1st bo6,27 - hint, anyone?
nm got it
that always happens... the minute I beg for a clue I see it
3/4 done, "only" 134 left... going to do what I'm paid to do, bbl

I'm starting to use French words. Time for a break. :)
made it half way!!!!!yeah!!!!!!!

Yay mkg
Hi all, is 504 words a record?
I believe 744 is the record
744 is record Gwe hi ya :)
We did have one that was over 800. I did a screen cap of it at the time (years ago) but since deleted it.
soured
so9 is a musical term?
sorry wrong box
so9 a musical term?
yes. go to the chog archives. the word is there
yes MLF... scroll back a cuple housr in chog. speelled tight out
yes and one of the s09 was typed in chog accidently.
oh the oen ending in i
then change to another vowel and then pl for 10
take pity on me and give me a dumbed down clue for the so9 please
une- call for help, 1 thru t--- then abbreviation for urinary tract infection :-)
can change last vowel on that One and then plural for so 10
what a word! thanks
welcome- i would not have gotten it without looking back in the chog lol
it's used a lot in classical music performance
SO 9 @ 8:57.
I have 123 without reaching nbt. Spplt! I'm probably not going to get the whole grid today.
I am missing the third column 3
bich - if you mean the e, it is ed 4/6
ty origami
you're welcome
hi -- back feeling human again
yay -- hadn't seen the musical term clue before --- thank you :-)
are there 2 so 9's? -- both a variation of the musical term?
yes ! --- should have tried it before asking
:)
and pl for one of them nan
just so excited there were 2 x9 and a 10 letter word that I actually know!
you and melon seem to be the only ones that knew it... well done nan!
I did play the violin for a few years, so it was part of the vocab.
you're mutitalented nan!
lol -- that was so many years ago, I'm lucky I remembered
oh, sorry nan, was knee deep in the R words... I need to give my eyes a rest for a while.
I am not getting the last vowel for the other so 9 word?
cyber I have a brother that played the violin for many years my mom was hoping he would continue it but he gave it up
finally went in never mind
are all of the oe words oes?
I have five OE words.
hi zooz I have 1
2 no2
now
mlf, some are s and some are r
Oh i did not realise,Mlf was asking for a third letter.. I thought she meant oe's
I am stuck with 238 left :(
hi peri :) 10 minute break will probably do wonders.
I kow how you feel. I keep entering the same words I have already found. rather annoying!
Know*
just found a few words. will try a little longer and then take a brak
hi zooz :)
Hello, TK :-)
I am keeping my distance form you all today as I have a man flu :-(
From*
hope you feel better soonm zooz
oh you poor, poor man! :(
soon even
((Peri)) (( TK)) Thank you!
what an awful time to be stricken - just as the weather turns nice :(
I am more concerned with being there for my mother when she has these hospital appointments. Not sure to go with them whilst with this cold and risk my parents getting it also. So hard.
I saw she had ppointments, but thought they were 3 weeks hence? when is the first one?
She had a phone call yesterday the urologist would like to have a word with her tommorow afternoon. then she has to go back on Sunday early in the morning.
So much talking and nothing getting done. And they are not that fit to keep traveling all the way to the hospital all these times either.
zooz, can you get a nose and mouth cover like surgeons wear? I have worn that when I didn't want to infect others.
keep washng hands and don't sneeze?
yes, available at the chemist usually cheap.
why can't the urologist speak with your Mom by phone?
I thought of that, Bugsaw, I really want to be there for them.
you are a good son, zooz
how long of a drive is it?
even better plan, peri
I have no idea, Peri. We have been to the hospital around five times now just to have talks and a couple of blood tests. they are doing the camera work next week or so.
down to 230 bbs
urologist may wish to order tests or do exam?
It is around a 30 min there and 30 mins back again. they are knackered by the time we have finished.
I think my mother will tell them to shove it where they want to shove the camera soon if they keep this up!
LOL, spunky woman ;)
Like Kje said a couple of days ago if it is gall stones why don't they just whip them out! Job done.
It takes a hell of a lot to wind my mother up, TK but when they do..Watch out!
This grid is not as easy going as I first thought it would be.
her age may be a condieration zooz... and there may be an alternate to surgery for braking up the stones. I keep thinking about ultrasonic treatments but can't remember for sure... get her on a roller coaster.. that breaks them up pretty well.. :)
ack... breaking.... it's contagious ;)
Ha! Bless her I could just see her face if she had to get on one of those rides LOL
hehehe.. I am sure I read about it really!
hmmm several sords with the ses ending
extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy is what you are thinking of TK.
there ya go.... just not sure which stones it workds well on... but - non-invsive, so mummy can't object too much???
Kidney stones mostly but can be used also on gallstones.
How you getting on with the grid, TK?
herbite
ha not a word anyway
I was thinking on the lines of herbicide.
Think I am dominating the chat here. So will go into srealth mode for a while.
I am here, sorry zooz
wandered awat to put the kettle on flagging badly here - might need a break from staring at the grid. 104 left for me to search out, BUT I have listed.
No worries, TK! I just see a sea of blue icon and think it is tiime for me to give it a rest lol
haha I do tht too... no worries, the chog is pretty quiet now. Everyne's likely got their nose to the grindstone ;)
Have you done the sudoku yet? I have not looked to see if it is an expert or not.
haven't even looked at it yet zooz. I will go have a peek.
It's an easy and comments aren't bad... some squabble going on about gun control :*(
Not sure if I will get there today I am feeling a bit weary with this cold. Not on about gun control again are they lol
lol, since more babblers are there now, there is a lot more chat than there used to be - like bck in the dawn of iron sudoku... no worries on taing a pass zooz, you can ctch it up when you are feeling better. There aren
t bonus points for finishing on the same day, jsut as long as you finish it!
I like that about sudoku!
Is it orange juice and chicken soup time zooz?
I had bangers & mash and I am drinking orange squash at the moment :-)
:D two of my favourite things! I like lemon squash as well
Lemon squash is lovely but not on my sore throat.
a spoonful of honey will help your throat...
my mother's remedy was always tea with brandy and honey. I almost liked getting sick :D
I did have some honey on bread for my breakfast :-)
Does that count lol
nice remedy origami, hi :)
Hi Kate
Mothers knows best, Origami!
absolutely, it's wonder drug - anti bacterial, antifungal and anti
Hope you feel better soon zooz
And it has a great taate. Unusual for something sweet being good foe you!
((Origami)) thank you!
My typos are strating to get worse!
I like honey in yoghurt
haha me too... gonna check on the tea
Oh yes in a live yoghurt!
I like that creamed honey - the whitish stuff that you spread :)
the H words are giving me hell... *sigh*
Good gosh I have not heard of that stuff, TK for at least 40 years!!
<--- older than dirt, LOL?
And wise too :-)
It was nice on toast... got all melty if you put it on right away :D not as easy to find these days and honey has gotten very pricey.
old enough to know better, too young to resist? (not so wise ;)
LOL
I will always have honey in the house no matter how much it costs.
And marmite :-)
:D
Sorry, TK I am keeping you from checking your tea. you go girl and enjoy!
I made an executive decision... I'm under 100 now, so decided to celebrate with a glass of wine instead - 4 PM - such a scandal!
Yuo enjoy! And congrats on getting under 100!
You*
Well, the wine will make it more difficult to fish out the last 88, but I've got time ;)
i have too many words left sorry i left babble again for a bit to do other useless things lol
are you starting to tire zooz?
nbt
I am, TK I really am lol
TK I remember havin a rioja white 1986 well in 1986 and it was the best wine I ever had!
I do not normally drink wine but I would have that one again.
yay hane! hi MLF are you ready to call it a night zooz/ the extra rest could help..and you have the trudge tomorrow for your mum...
That sounds like a divine wine zooz. was there a special occasion?
No way, TK i will finish I am still in the must finish stage of my babble life lol
Bak to find my last 308 lol
Understood zooz ;)
No special occasion just happend to be a good year that year for that wine!
go gwen go! :D
book 326 left for me to find
Nearly there then BDG!
Is this a bad time to say I need 23 words.
BDG?
BDG - Book Doctor Gwen.
i keep spelling cheriot thinking its the carriage word when i know it isn't lol
ugh! 1 sip of wine and can't think straight ;)
Take the C off, Mlf and you have a word :-)

Slow day ubering. Waiting for next run.

hi again --- what a monster and I'm still trying to figure out why I think I should have to finish it!
I have 2 x samll bugs and another birdie, very light on critters today.

Earlier there was some discussion of that really big (744 words) puzzle and when it occurred. Straight from Dr. God--April 21, 2012--for any/all who might be interested.
If you look at Lickety's Stats, he lists the largest and smallest grids and when they occurred
yes, but no year was given and someone wanted to know that earlier.
Tapping out with 200 left. *POOF*
Halfway, finally!
Yay mag mom!
rehi all...back to try and knock off a few more of the 170 I have left
Hi - about the same but going to list soon
well, found a quick 20...so that's promising
just found my first 9s :)
We were thrilled to have that huge puzzle in 2012...until a Lebanese guest and his wife wanted to try Babble and slowed us waaayyy down! We missed the deadline by fewer than 20 words! Argghhhh! So much for being polite!
fortunately I have multiple devices :)
I guess we did, too, but were trying to be good hosts at the same time! I managed to knock off over 300 while they lounged on our dock!
yeah, bit awkward entertaining and babbling
We often feign the need for sleep and slink off to the bedroom to finish the puzzle!
There is money to be made in establishing the Betty Ford Babble Rehab. Someone needs to jump on that. : D <---That was a joke.
just say"no"
hello all....anyone have ab 7?
lol, molly....
although, "no" is of course not acceptable in the grid

Molly, can you tell me how to call up the little icons to insert?
you're sweet penquis...
It doesn't accept DETUNE.
happy to help if wanted but hate when people clue before I ask for it
haha Hi unike :)
If you don't want clues before you are ready, turn the chat off. Chat is full of clues all day long.
but the chat is half the fun here...
lovely group of folks
so I try not to peek when I see a clue posted, unless I want it
It takes a village some days :)
And don't ever play at the flip with chat on, because it is some kind of alpha male/female competition to see who can clue first.
I'm never up that late!!
It is quite a sight - how they manage to find s many big fish right off the hop always amazes me. I have to sneak up on them ne letter at a time ;)
Land of the Giants, eh? I'll stay quiet behind my rock.
holy cow. I don't know if I should even start this one.
ob 6/24?
nm....
well, you have about 4-5 hours left Harry.... 100 words an hour should do it :-)
I usually have my head sown, if I'm on at the flip. That's a big people's game ;)

go Gwen go!!!! (sometimes typos can be your best friend Nat...)
yes, when you accidentally monkey a babblet whilst trying to type a "real" word..
LOL.. don't tell anyone - I had to look for a couple FOUR letter wrods in morewords I wa so Babbleblind ;)
Haha Kate I suspect many have done the same today...
there are times, when you'd swear you tried every possible cmbo - even the impossible ones... ;)
hello friends. speaking of being Babble blind, is now a good time to ask for a clue to the re 8,50 ? I can't even find it in Morewords!
to acquire once more?
I am looking for it too
I ruru. I am so tired of this while trying to do 3 other projects at the same time. . .
I did clue it for lurkerz not long ago.
(((bugs)))
you did?
no ruru... PAY NO ATTENTION TO MY BAbblings
if you can tell me what time you did that I MIGHT have a chance of finding it Kate but there are no guarantees any more. I need a nap
see my clue below at 8:09 bugs...
what Nat said... great clue
think I plagiarized it from you Kate
so you're patting yourself on the back :-)
I saw it Natasha and appreciate your effort. However, it makes no sense with the letters I can see
as long as it gets out there... :D
other R?
I sure don't see it
me neither
based on to acquire OB 6
looking for what?....if it is the re8/50....use the left R...
thank you.. didn't look up
thank you thank you thank you for the ob clue!!!!
get your hands on OB 6/24 do it again for the re 8
OK. I finished those accursed ce babblets. Not one of 'em a word anyone I know would use...
first pass through - 242 to go.
and three tiles grayed
C words are very often unpleasant, IMO ;)
I feel like I'm being punished
that kind of positive attitude will help today, Harry
yeah I'm almost done with this one, I think.
en 9 pls?
well put ruru
Do you WANT to be punished ruru? <wink>
doe
Yes, but think of the big cash prizes if you finish, ruru
a deer!
that's the one I did clue not long ago... starts like main course at dinner and ends with the sun TO
(that's the 8, don't see a EN 9)
there's plenty of 9s, don't need another one
TO it could be between suns in French
nice clue Bugs!
thanks Kate. but only if she knows French
ty kate
well.. if she attends plays there's "between acts"; which is more common. I liked that clue Bugs.
I always wonder what kind of minds understand my clues. It comforts me to know I am not the only one in the world who thinks sideways
we all don't think linearly!
which makes us all wizards at cryptic crosswords ;) hahaha
i only have one 9 so far. .yuck
they are not normal words ruru
ruru has a paucity of 9s...sorta hint
i am missing one r.. I'm screwed
have you listed to see which ones you need
i'm still 24 shy of having all the 4-letter words. But I'm multitasking -- actually getting work down while I babble
bet it's RE 9/60...
well done Gwen. My day is just one frustration after another
Trif had sstate exams to proctor today - while she babbled away - lucky ladies!
sorry to hear, bugsaw
Why such a frustrating day, Bugs?
ob5/6 pls?
setup
OB 5 death notice and pl

Yes, it has been warm and rainy but sometimes beautiful. Buds are budding. You?
finally some warmth here too... and more importantly some sun!!! another few days and we should finally be finished worrying about frost. trees are still trying to bud - no leaves yet on them (but verysoon!) rain is coming on and off for a week.

soon it will be 40C every day... ugh
tulips still in bud here. daffys are all out and the early ones are fading a bit. forsuthia still out in full bloom fer goodness sake (NOT normal)
My son can't wait to go swimming in the lake and talks about it every day. He's 4 and doesn't understand that the water is still freezing.
we were well into the 20s yesterday and today.
teachable moment kitty ;) bring him down to the water and let him dip a toe in
With my luck he'd be able to take it and I'd have to go in and fetch him!
raising a little daredevil ? :D
some people are natural polar bears...
kids don't feel cold or heat like us **oldsters** do
so true! My kid's in school in Montreal this year, bought him a fancy LLBean parka, he never wore it
and it's not like he has ANY body fat... he's just not cold!
he's crazy... it was bloody freezing - especially DEc/Jan... started very early :(
which I resent because my middle name is "I"m cold I'm making tea/soup"
men: portable blast furnaces ;)
isn't that why we marry them...
need a clue for the ta8s and 9... are they related?
yes, they keep us warm at night and keep track of which actors I like ;)

My eyes are going crossed and now I am just retyping too many of the same words lol

Hi all. Sleepless night last night so waiting for the flip. Cybernan - what words do you need

Hi, hurshy. I'm here, but don't often chat these days.
kate, if you look at my first 11:33 post, you will see i said i found it then :)

((Jackers))
brb - more coffee
Nan get those 6 finish for me lol
haha... a champeeeeen jumper for sure!
nan left :( ???
hi ursh and jac
I think she did leave, Kate. :(
Hi Harp/x
sometimes it's nice to leave a few unfinished
like thumbing your nose at the grid
very sad :(
i COULD finish you if i wanted, grid, you know i could cause you see how close i got. but you're not WORTH the effort.
jane came back!
Nice to leave a few unfinished? Are you mad, woman? lol
hahaha....
take THAT, grid! you're not so important
LOL, Hurshy. We believe you.
a few would be worse than half for me...slight OCD - nothing to see here ;)
it's like ninth grade biology
Same here, Kate!
Biology was fun, hurshy.
nothing's like 9th grade biology ;)
i was getting a B+ which probably would have been like my only B in all of high school and there were like two more tests left in the year. and i had to get 100% on both in order to bump it to an A- for the final grade. and the teacher gave all-essay-tests. and if you didn't put in everything you could think of, even if it didn't ask about it in the question, he'd take points off. well, i studied my ass off for those last two tests and got OVER 100, bonus points. and i felt that i was in effect saying to the teacher: "see, i could have done this all year, but this class wasn't worth the effort."
so you see the connection
What age is 9th grade? It's a different system in UK.
LOL... see, you do something like that and they expect it all the time!
i was 14
same for you Jacula - 13 ish
well i normally got As on everything Kate, it was just his stupid essay tests with his unfair taking off points for things the question did not actually ask for...
the point is, it's all in the attitude. if i REJECT the last six words, then i have the power. i refuse to let the grid master me.
not saying anyting about teachers in this chog... too many good ones I wouldn't want to insult.. and I was blessed with many good ones too. (had a real crap one in college though complete moron...
I've just checked what the Year ages are in UK now (changed since I was at school) - what was 3rd year of high school for me is now Year 9.
yes, like any profession, good ones and bad ones
I see what you are saying about not letting something master you, Hurshy, but I don't see the point. But, perhaps that's personal to you.
I win the modesty/self-control game: stopped at 301
Or was that lazy and ignorant hmmmmm
you don't really have a middle school though, right Jac? K-6th, 7-8th, HS(9-12/13... O and A levels)
jwr.. we know you are capable, so it was a life choice
Good for you jwr - I don't subscribe to either. I remember that old poster, 'It's not about winning but how you play the game'. lol
True. I chose to be lazy and ignorant .... and go to movies alot, even if I am in increasingly depopulated cinemas.
Oh Jac - you had to bring that up!
Yes, we do have middle school, Kate. In fact, there are far too many educational facilities and tests/goals to reach for children here now from pre-school to uni.
don't see where ignorance comes into play... or is that self-depricating hunour?
Sorry and 'lol', jwr.
not a fan of all these government mandated tests that have come in in the last decade. they are making testing companies rich... and if you ask me, kids learn less because they are "teaching the test"
Why can't children be given time to just be children these days? No wonder the number of children needing help with mental illnesses and stress has gone up so alarmingly.
my point was that it's not necessarily sad or a cause for pity that cnan left with 6 left
they want to go back to standardised testing - why not go back to the exams required to get grade 13 diploma up until the alte 50s/early 60s... now those were tests.... jsut sying.
that alternatively, we could see it as a triumph
those exams are probably horribly out of date by now kate, lol
And then they go to uni and can't get a job afterwards and end up taking minimum wage jobs, get depressed, need help from the NHS which is failing them, etc.
No, it's actually the onset of -- I seriously - just lost the word I needed, Kate. It's a gradual loss of mental capacity, begins with C. It will come back after awhile - just wanted to let you know I wasn't joking altogether
I got the impression she was upset though... possibly because of babble blindness and clutter in chog.. to say nothing of bad clues replete with typos :(
even the standardized tests my students just took, idk how old they are exactly, but there was a question about whether something sounded more like a magazine article or a newspaper article, and i was like, um, kids today do not see magazines and newspapers, how would they know?
Hursh - Yes, nan left because she wanted to.
no hurshy.. many would still fly today. at least the basics.. geography/history might need some tweaking but math is math and English is English...
mostly i'm just being... um... playful though. sometimes i take an idea and run with it just cause it is fun and entertaining
they were basic exams but you had to know your stuff to pass.
even the science books my kids use have pluto as a planet which of course is not currently considered true
