as some of you know, my husbamd of 60 years, walter, passed away in feb.. just 10 days short of his 92 nd birthday. He had said several times that he wanted no funeral but he would like us to throw a cook-out bash ans set his hat on his chair and have a party in his hoor. Today , we did just that. had his cleveland indians hat with all his pins on it .. several picture boards of snaps of our life an his navy service ( he was a landing craft pilot at te invasion of normandy) it was a wonderful party an over 70mpeople came and honored him and we had a great day.

Kate: training for nail stylist. One full day a week, and daily homework for about 4 or 5 hours, lol. In between that and the normal day-to-day stuff, I don't have (as we say in dutch) time to scratch my butt!
it is intensive and fascinating and wonderful, rose. Am learning so much, and getting better every day. First time on a real model yesterday and it went so well :D *happy dance* Rob is doing okay. Might need knee replacements, which is a big thing, he is still deciding. Work is taxing for his body. But mentally/emotionally he is a little better again.
oh Kam, I hear ya! If there is something I cannot stand, it is having to wait longer because somebody else messed up.
all good news mostly then. makes me happier. have been so worried for you both.

Yeah, Rose, you are so right. His hair is grown back to decent looking, and we're still on hold...and his speech has been affected. He is constantly being asked to repeat what he said by everyone, which must be terribly frustrating for him

The expected results are no tremors. We have HIGH hopes since the "test fire" during the original surgery completely stopped them. I don't know how the scheduling got screwed up so badly though

Ellicott City is a beautiful, historic town. It is a shame to see them get hit with more flooding. They were just rebuilding after flooding in 2016.

doc can ban a username, but they can re-sign-up with a new name. if he sees that several usernames have been reported from the same IP address, i think he can ban that IP address. but even that isn't hard to get around.

We have a nice old thunderstorm going on here; it was 97 & humid this afternoon; it rained a bit (less than 15-20 minutes) the humidity went even higher; now we have thunder & lightening and a heavy rain and the temp is 86 whith 90% humidity. Not swimming weather here!

Trifioso - thank you for reading, yes I'm doing quite well now. Seem to have developed anemia sometime after my diagnosis, but went unnoticed. Got a new doc and am hopeful for a good outcome.

haha hurshy - yes some groups I dread, but this one isn't bad. it's 4th grade (my middle daughter's class)
Ah, 4th graders aren't totally jaded and wild yet.
i'm teaching 4th and 5th right now...
we are a small school district, so maybe 60 kids for that grade? my brother in law is one of the teachers too
admittedly, it's only my fifth graders who are difficult, but my impression was that that's more the individual kids i happen to have

I wasn't a happy camper in 5th grade and was quite surly. I had a really good homeroom teacher, though. She was very understanding.
one of my tough nuts is adopted, and his early years before that were TERRIBLE, so i get why. another's dad is ... not great to say the least. and my troublesome girl, well, her mom seems very nice and normal, but now and then weird comments come out like "my mom won't let me sing at home" that make me wonder...
its like that all over hurshy - same stories in my little country town

i mean, my parents aren't that fantastic, but i didn't take anything out on my poor innocent teachers, lol
hurshy, when my grandson was in 1st grade, he was bullied by a boy in his class that his teacher was heard saying he was like a young Charlie Manson; this kid had charisma and got others to pick on other kids too
yikes. traits like that coming out in first grade... so scary
i had the funniest conversation with my sister one time when her kids were like 2 and 4
she calls me up and says, "why do kids disobey? you were disobedient. why did you do it??" (cause she was pretty darn compliant to adults, though she did have a fiery temper)
I have to go; things are kind of nuts here with this weather. BB later after this passes.
