I guess as I get older, I have learned to just ignore the inconsequential annoyances in life.
I think many players try to find as many words as they can to take the challenge.. but that experience is somewhat ruined by incessant cluing and this new format of cluing every word in the grid.
Most of the time I don't give a rat's ass either but lately it's been annoying
I crack on as much as I can without looking at chat - then I head for chat and am very grateful for the clues. If I dont want them I just skip that message.
Well, one can always choose to ignore the chog... I don't really ignore perse, but rather just let me eyes elide over clues and watch for the meaty bits of news
(that way if I do get stuck later on, I know the word I am looking for has bee clued and I have an idea, but I just don't let it register beyond that)

Agree, ruru...and although it's a choice whether to look at the chat, sometimes one's eyes can't help but glance over. We prefer the challenge of finding our own words...it's much more rewarding! Then we use Lickety as a last resort.
granadan - that's my approach also. When the clues are all in a paragraph, it's very easy to glaze over.
I like to chat and play.. normally.. I know I can turn off the chat.. but that's a lot less fun.. the Chat (when there is a chat) is the best part of this game
Well, if cluing gets banned how on earth do you get to learn new words? Especially when you've got kids, work, study and don't get on here daily? Clues have sent me on many words Id never have monkey typed into existence.
bwahahaa a paragraph HK? my habit is to just drop the word in my cht bc I abhor hving to edit my stream of consciousness. So much of what i do professionally is on eternal edit of not just words, but inflection, terminology, body language, and cultura manners, it is nice to just turn off edit for a change. If peeps catch it.. fine.. most times though they don't.
agreed ruru - the chat is the best part of the game. I say it all the time, when I tell people about Babble. The key word in that sentence is 'part' - it's a part of the game, not the whole game. It's very nice, I would like to keep seeing it stay that way. Not where rules are made about what can & can't be said.
