anyone need help??
don't everyone ask at once.... lolll
i am utterly pooped. gym yesterday, and today, just myself and DH ran the community lunch. everything aches, even my hair... loll. *leaving a special hug for sprite in chog* xoxox
good morning all
noooooooo come back! Did I really miss you by a minute?
lol, guess I did. Thanks for the hug and here's one back for you... for when you wake up :) *squeeeeeeezeeeeee*
*hugs Kam* I hope you are healing up quickly now.
too bad pretsle is not a valid spelling
found an insect
Hello, Sprite :-) how are you doing?
*hugs zooz* I am doing fine, thanks! And you, dear man? How are you doing, emotionally and physically, and how are the parents? Are you still stretching and does it help your feet?
I am okay thank you :-) Parents are okay at the moment which is good. Still stretching and feet do not ache anymore thank goodness. Although I did pull a muscle in my back the other day lifting a fence panel onto a car roof for my dad but that will not last long I hope lol
Glad you are fine. Still getting over the flu?
ouch :( *healing vibes to your back*
yeah, still coughing. No fever though, so all good.
flu & colds always seem to take an age to go. Glad it is on the way out for you though.
I have been taking paracetamol & ibuprofen so back does not feel to bad.
Too*
It was sad to hear about Jillibus.
it is not unusual for me to have a flu linger. My health is never great and my resistance is low, for starters. And asthma, COPD and allergies run in the family. I got lucky and did not get those genes, but when my airways are infected, it tends to become chronical. Not complaining though, grateful to not have copd etc.
it was. Jill was an amazing woman. A mind sharper than that of most of us, people half her age. And a lovely person.
99% here have a shrper mind compared to mine but yes I remember Jillibus being a very kind and witty person.
wth... if we can have le7/40 superlative, then why not the comparative??
Ah not got that far yet I am only on the V lol Started when I said hello to you.
kind, witty, great sense of language, amazingly broad range of expertise and interests. She and I used to do the daily icon themes. It was wonderful to share that with her.
oh, nm, because it would have to double use a letter. *hits self over head with guppie*
LOL so near yet so far.
And hey no cruelty to animals please :-)
ikr? frustrating game, our babble
It is yet we love it and come back for more time and time again!
lol, yesterday we had 'bearcat' and I looked it up, and it referred me to bilturong. I never ever heard of that one. It is a kind of civet with a very big tail.
oh absolutely. Love to hate enable. And babble is my game of choice any day.
Binturong.
biNturong, you are right
Yes this is my choice of game too alhough Chess is very close too.
Funny thing is I am not that good at that game either LOL
I am not so very good at thinking ahead. Or remembering a lot. So chess and bridge are not for me.
I Can not get into bridge. I hav tried but just not for me.
Not sure why can had a capital letter but hey ho.
jilli played till the end. Very good bridge player. Flosey is too. I wish I could learn, but I do not think it would work for me.
lol
I think Rummy is about as good I can be with card games. Although I love playing poker too but not for real money.
fireflies. Would you like a clue for the biggie combo I had to a2z?
Congrats, Sprite!
Not for me but thank you anyway :-)
Hope you have a great day, Sprite :-)
I like the dutch game 'klaverjassen' too.
*hugs zooz* Have a lovely day, and see you again soon.
Will have to google that word to see what game it is lol
Looks complicated to me.
Just want to say "Hi" and glad to hear that you all are OK. Sorry about your back. I pulled a muscle in mine about a week ago and I am still moving slowly
((Gapeach)) Nice to see you. Sorry you too have a pulled muscle. Yes they take an age to heal. so annoying.
Darn! I hit the enter button before I had a chance to say ......well, I cannot remember what I was going to say anyway. LOL
LOL bless you.
Do you have snow yet?
No
It is mild still here thank goodness. I hear parts of the USA are getting very cold weather.
How much have you had?
Good. The northeast here is getting a foot of it and flights are being canceled bigtime.
Good grief! I hope it does not last llong, Gapeach. Have you got lots of supplies in the house?
We've only had rain (a week of it) and it is freezing now so I have to leave the faucets dripping so as not to freeze. The dogs REALLY don't tarry long when they have to go outside though.
Yes, I have enough food and batteries in case we lose power. A couple of years ago we had an ice storm that knocked out power for 3 days and nights. That wasn't pleasant but we made it through.
Hope this is not a sign of a harsh Winter. We do not need two years in a row of very cold seasons.
It is good to know you are well prepared, Gapeach.
I agree. Well, take good care and keep warm. My smallest is here wanting food...I do have to feed him before I give him insulin. So have a great day. Nice to talk with you. Blessings.
((Gapeach)) Take care and always nice to speak to you.
Bonjour ((Ruby)) I know you are probably busy with the grid. But just noticed you were on line. Hope you see it :-)
Okay first run through and I have 84 words left for later. Happy babbling everyone!
''zzoozz)) if you're still here l just came on & l'm having an anxiety attack
the nurse is on her way
eyen
sorry
Deep breaths Ruby, nice deep breaths. You will be fine and the nurse is on her way.
l rarely cry, but l totaly lost it. They toldme to take a xanax
It's okay. We all lose it from time to time. Life can get to be too much. Just breathe deeply and focus on your well being.
cant breathe deepluy, panting
It's hard to live alone when you're sick. You don't have anyone to lean on when you need that the most.

l'm not really alone; l have te hiusekeeper, Michele, mornings, ly friend Natalie to help with dogs, 5 evenings.

It is an chemical used in making perfume for those of you who care. : D
thanks molly
TX Molly!!
ty Molly
I should have learned to leave that one cologne
thanks for the te clues
ru, that one was so good I'm smiling, not groaning
.. and ty Molly
hi aloy..
how is your neighborhood, ru? Am so saddened about the fires
I saw film footage of California and it looked like something out of a Mad Max movie.
we are really smoky here.. it's awful... I had to drive through sacramento yesterday (where Ori lives) and it's much much worse there
hoping for heavy rains
there's a chance next week that will help the firefighters
I think my other cousin is about to lose his home too
oh no
chico is now losing homes..
California fire fighters are some brave men and women.
are you a native Californian, ru? Am wondering if people will relocate or rebuild - the losses are so horrendous, homes and businesses and schools etc
me yes born here...
one of my cousins isn't going to rebuild
and yes molly.. they are..amazing people who can work for days straight without rest or sleep
I was just reading about this rape trial in Ireland.. where they let the rapist off because the woman was wearing a lacy thong and that implied consent..Ireland has a long way to go I think
she was 17 also
just plain wrong
why can't one who abstains from food be called a fa**er? not acceptable
It also means quicker and it was accepted here.
h'mm, I must have typed it incorrectly.. ty jaxx
yup, bumble fingers
Dyslexic fingers as my son called it.
oh, thoughts return.. was wondering about no plural if it could mean the ones who abstain from food
that gives us something to chew on aloy...
ty molly for the te 9/10

oh duhh babblet ty
i'll take a mini groan :D I hope I don't have to track whimpers too :D
"fest was not found in the dictionary"???
fest is an abbreviation
nbt and nbs
Dictionary.com says separate word, origin German "fest" - holiday.
hi all

sounds like fun jmc hello and ty
that must be taxing waiting on the phone jm
i miss their old musack whick was Nutcracker and Mozart. . . .now it is new age
it definatly lacks interest ru
are you keeping yourself awake having to listen to that type of music jmc?lol

*waves to Dart*
waves to ruru, realizes he was not waving to me, but to dart, slinks away, scarlet
hi trif.. hello back
too late, the shame is real
jeez. get over yourself :D
hi all again
hi jmc
the irs nearly gave me a heart attacke. . . still taking deep breathes
SNUFFY!
LOL.. long time
I have dipped in and out. . actually had a babble meetup in Houston over the election week
love that IRS scam call, the lady with the deep serious voice
waves to trif
still waiting to be prosecuted, lol
not the scam call. . . updating my creditials with the IRS. . . omg . . . it said I had a condition that disqualified me and I nearly died.
ooh, glad you got that straightened out
oddly snuffy the most likely people to get suckered by that scam are well educated and well behaved people who never had a problems with the IRS. . . .they panic and pay
me too I would have been in deep doo-doo on the earning money front otherwise. . . .
horrible.. and something has to be done about all the robo calls and scam calls. We don't even answer the phones unless we recognize the number, sad situation.. so intrusive to your days
what is this irs scam call?
widespread, bichon.. a lady calls and says you are in real trouble.. we hang up
they call and say that you owe the IRS money and if you don't pay immediately the local police will come and arrest you but it can be stopped by you giving them a credit card payment.
Don't they usually send a letter?
I use nomorobo on my landline. . . stops most of the calls.
how do you do nomorobo
Our landline is on silent ring
you are correct bichon. . . but people who have never had a problem think that the letter may have been lo** in the mail
is that a paid subscription, jmc?
not for a land line. it is for cell phones sunffy
wvteach you go to nomorobo.com amd sign up
the phone rings once when it is a robot call and then stops. So I only answer when it rings more than once.
oh.. I have truecaller on my cell phone and it has a block feature. I need something for my land line
that is so neat, jmc
does true caller block in advance? I just block the numbers and it slows them down some.
I have been using turbotax for years. I always get a letter from the IRS saying I get more of a refund than I filed for. I've called Turbotax and complained and I get no where
maybe you should try different software. . . or is it because you didn't enter some tax withholding from dividiends or somethine?
yes, jmc, it does. The problem is that robos, etc. constantly change their numbers, so it is a never-ending process
my tax software costs me about $2k . . .
Any one else get calls from themselves in their cell phone?
eek ! We use a CPA for less than that, jmc
true snuffy but you can choose not to answer #s you don't recognize. . . since my cell phone is a business line I answer it. . .
ah so, sigh
haha I do returns for 60 people. . . it is part of how I pay for new capes. . . .*twirls* . . . like is?
yes bzzn. . . that is one I don't answer!!! hahaha
It's just weird.
yepper
my tax guy costs a lot but he's worth it
Hiyas, kids. Woof. It's another biggun.
hi judi
hi Judi
Hope judi is speaking about the grid
okay must wander off to do some paying work. . . bbl maybe. . .289 le**

Yes, I was referring to the grid, oh pervy one.

LOL.. I used to call my hubby "OPO" for Oh Perfect One, now I'll think of ru for those initials, good one, Judi
I'm not pervy.. I've just got a nice healthy sexual appetite :D
and love to share )))))
sharing is caring

last pe 6 please?
a VERY large, gruff young man just told me "you are the only teacher here who doesn't annoy the hell out of me" -- taking it as a compliment!
lol Trif and that it is
that is a compliment, indeed.
glad to be on his good side, for sure!
how did the boy struggling with his math test make out?
nan do you have animal friends + abbrev for robots
the abbrev is two vowels
no -- the one I need if I can figure out the abbreviation
ty mymuse
means Chinese cabbage
trif???
sorry, answering a student question.... he did fine. he pulled himself together enough to finish. we won't get the results back until after the new year. if he did not pass he has to take them all again in march. NIGHTMARE
what is he struggling with?
math in general. he is low functioning with in the neurotypical range, and EVERY thing is hard for him
i'm glad to hear that he's still trying.
he is, but I felt SO BAD for him - by the end of the class he was quietly weeping in frustration.
Didn't someone suggest a vocational school?
so there is no defined reason for his inability to comprehend?
is is problem only with math or with all disciplines?
i am sure his parents were given the vocational school option, and, whilst we on the teaching side CLEARLY feel he should have taken that option, mom and dad were NOT going to send him. Not the done thing here in "affluent town." Makes me want to weep with frustratoin
My daughter has learning disabilities. It was suggested she go to a vocational school. I resisted because I felt she would go into hairdressing. She went to an academic high school and finished college [with a lot of help]
sometimes to it is a missing basic concept that everyone assumes that everyone just knows -- that happened to me where math is concerned
I think vocational schools are great. Kids learn a trade at a young age and can end up making a lot of money that way. Nothing wrong with vocational schools.
my brother went to our early equivalent - called technical colleges. A 'failure' because the rest of us went to grammar schools. He was the first with 'letters' after his name and ended up in charge of commissioning nuclear power stations. A real failure!!!
i think we in the educational field have done families a TERRIBLE disservice in stressing that "everyone needs to go to college" -- not everyone is college minded, and we are about to experience a SERIOUS shortage of tradespeople in the USA because of the shortage of people going into trades. Plumbers, electricians, water professionals, landscapers, carpenters - NONE of those can be outsourced.
i was FURIOUS when trump publicly stated that community colleges were a waste of time and should be avoided
I totally agree with that Trif. And hey, people can look down their noses at those tradespeople all they want. Those folks make TONS of money. Anyone who doubts that, just think about what you pay your plumber.
we are lucky over here . Shoirt of tradesmen- we have Poles! They do everything in half the time and half the price!!
Well, luckily, people have their own minds and their own opinions and what Trump says is just his opinion.
The Adult Ed programs here offers a Millwright course at teh request of the local water authority.
I think part of the problem also is attitude --- for too many years the education system seemed to have a need to apply a label to everyone -- that has led to the current policy where every time a kid sneezes he needs to be psychoanylised. Obviously this child does have a problem, but I think a great many kids just need to be told to grow up and get over it.
how very non-pc - and how right!!
I agree Nan. Kids are treated like little china dolls these days and it does them a disservice. I like grow up and get over it.
the parents here drive me NUTS _ they push their kids way too hard.

it is the 6/18 and 7/28 combo that might be related?
Sorry, I have them checked off wrong.
