Good Morning All, :)
Coffee? atalante :)
tea :)
I don't know where all these big words are hiding
The 9
The 9 letter words are all weird
oh dear
Hi Ata - one compound looks like a US word to me...another some men who work in a very very large pit. Buit it just refuses to make that en7.40 into a 9
since when is enquirer not a word >>?? i am reading the cincinnati enquirer with my coffee
But the real word is with an i
Never mind my comment, I think I was still asleep
I think a person IS with i Sukee
how is paneer not a word? come on enable
perhaps not considered common enough foreign word (which it is of course)
Good day to all.
Hey, Scrabs et al
Good morning, scrabs.
hi Scrabs
on the other hand, enable comes through with the latin plural for fish tank. morning all!
Morning, dan. I had just found that and the 8.
TY and hello , Dan
Scrabbs! how goes your practice these days?
Slow and scary every day. Every patient/parent encounter could be a meeting with COVID-19.
good morning all
Hi Peri
Have you got sufficient PPE supplies Scrabs? PS God Bless
Morning, peri.
right of course. well you are in our thoughts and prayers here - flattening the curve
hi Pe4.5
Masks, yes. We don't wear full PPE as if a phone triage suggests COVID we send the kid to the children's hospital.
A partner just became ill overnight so we are all extra terrified right now.
So instead of being off I will head into the office soon..
my cousin is a nurse at a free clinic in Milwaukee - they have basically transitioned to only urgent care (with some telemedical checkins on chronic care patients), and every sniffle from staff keeps someone home. Oh wow hoping for a quick recovery
The lag between time of infection and onset of symptoms, as well as nonsymptomatic infections, make this illness very scary.
I'm off for the night. Goodnight all. Best wishes to you all in the States - it seems like a nightmare over there

thanks Molly! we are in need of a post-rain touch-up.
I have a new job starting the end of the month, and I will start without ever having met any of my coworkers in person. I have to go today to my old office to pick up my personal effects, but there is no one to give my work phone and laptop to, so IT will send me a box to my house. small problems in this weird new way of the world
You are fortunate to have a new job. Not many companies are hiring these days. Good luck.
thank you! definitely a blessing
hmm - how come gato is accepted but perro is not? LOL
Gato is not accepted
many spanish words are, many are not. you should just always try all the ones you know
good job I only know about 3
Same with French words. But man, Enable sure does love those Scot words.
yep
I should know more of those
it has a few good welsh words too
I think a descendant of Robert Burns compiled it
name that proper noun - TX billionaire who ran for president
I think a nerd pack of old men in black socks and sandals, who love foreign currency and oddball mammals compiled it.
Perot
Perrot?
think you are right Molly
ding ding - too easy
What is the first thing you will when we no longer have to worry about the virus?
go to my library!
I knew that answer right away, haha - I miss the library.
family gathering at our favorite restaurant
go out to a live concert
rbud, I borrow books from my library through my tablet. But, yes, browsing the shelves is a definite.
That's what my choice is too, teach. See my grandkids and eat some mexican food at a restaurant.
I haven't been to a library since I moved to this county in 2007. I don't even know where it is. But I prefer to read on my Kindle.
oh, I've never done any e-reading, but this might finally make that happen. We'll see - I got a big stack of books from the Goodwill a couple of days before they closed down, so good for a while.
hello
good morning mlf
go to my local ice cream shop
I barely started and greyed out a letter already
Hi - joining in on the reading conversation. If you get a library card you can check out ebooks from many different libraries.
well, no e-booking - unless you count reading "The Handmaid's Tale" on my pc screen, haha.
Me, I'll be getting a pedicure.
I have the left O grayed out, mlfan ;)
good morning wv.. my husband's friend told me that areas of wv had some very high/strong winds this week?
rbud the full book?
Forecast in the DC Metro today is for 50 MPH winds.
hokie I have 4th column bottom a greyed out
So far, nothing.
honestly I can't even think of doing anything without worrying about the virus
yes, it's in several locations online.
I've always loved the library. Any library. You can always count on the library being the same any where you go. It has been my safe place since I was able to read.
I know, Carla.
rbud free?
And I'm with you, Molly. A pedi for sure!
we ate supper outside last night and then sat out there a while. as soon as I went in the wind picked up like crazy.
we didn't get any strong winds here - but north of us in PA and east of us got some damaging winds, brought down some trees
yes. Let me find my link and tiny it, I'll put it here.
molly I saw on a weather report this AM in the next few days their could be some bad storms?
I refuse to overdo the worry about this thing. I will take the appropriate precautions and hope for the best.
on East coast and some in South
We had a huge thunderstorm last night around 5pm.
if you can give me the name I can google it
I wish I could live like that but as patti smythe sang, I am the worrier. ok, she actually sang warrior, but I changed it.
bzz I heard a loud fast thunderstorm during the night
"The Handmaid's Tale": https://tinyurl.com/w2tkcgf
I can't live my life a slave to worry. Life is too short and I would miss too much if I did.
we had rain overnight but I have no idea if there was thunder and lightning involved
I tried watching The Handmaid'
rbud do you know the name of the website?
The Handmaid's Tale but it was a little too twisted for me.
do I need to register?
fortunately the book is fairly short. No need to register, at least I didn't have to.
hokie i think i heard a little thunder but the rain came down fast!
I got the book before the show came out but haven't read it yet. the show came out and I was like, maybe I don't want to read.
I'm taking my mom for a drive today. Going to take Emma to the vet in
cool rbud ty
Raleigh and deliver masks.
I'm sure your mom will like to get out
can't say it was a happy book, for sure. But I figured there was so much hoopla about the show, I'd at least read it and know what the heck it was about.
Good morning, all. Ever take a sip of coffee and then immediately have to yawn. Decisions, decisions.
Yes, she is looking forward to it. She wants to see more trees than what is in our backyard. =)
Morning, Judi.
judi hmm interesting thought
does anyone have the r on the 4th column?
re5.10
Bea - it reasulted in a swallow, yawn, burp sequence.
Yes, I know that response. Then I would have to sneeze 8 times.
these q's are not jumping out at me. found 1.
They all start out with water, if that helps, Carla.
not seeing it
Those are the A at the top
hokie probably the same q word i have
re5.10 is from the past
have 2 now
ty bzz
There is an 8 and 9 in the qu's.
oh great ty bzz.. i gtg i will be back
wow, 3 9's in this grid
Blah. This day is dragging.
It's not even 10 yet, Judi.
My point exactly.
56 left. BBL.
any clues for the not QU9?
Ones who mine rocks?
ugh, I knew it had to be related to that but couldn't put it together, thx
huh I assumed that was the qu
So you have the qu9 but looking for the other 9's?
I misunderstood your ?, so maybe bea did too. you wanted the other 2 9's besides the qu?
yep
su9.72 and pr9.60
sorry that was clear in my head lol
what the heck does that su9 mean
not supertoer
interstate travel here in the US.
Maybe you don't have them in Scotland.
ooh, found it
huh I always assumed that was just interstate roads. I only know the I5 :D
asphalt with xray vision ata
we have 1 motorway in scotland ...
we have a bunch around me but they are called ___st___s
I've never heard anyone use the word su9. Only su5highway.
How are you doing today, ru?
these are regular 4 lanes that they've removed any left turns, so you have to go further and u-turn
4 lanes .... I think we have 1 road with 3 lanes in scotland :D
Vi :D
i'm ok bea.. just bored out of my mind.. i've never been housebound before
maybe 2
Hello, Ata. Hello, all!
I've been bound in the house but not the other way around
That is the craziest thing about NC...go to the stoplight and make a uturn.
even my tiny town in VA has a 4 lane going through it, ata
Yes, I'n bored too even though I have tons to do. How can that be?
the main road here up the east coast of scotland has 2 lanes ....
we are a v small place
I'm going to rearrange my sewing room today. after pulling out the industrial straight stitch machine I had been trying to sell, I decided to keep it. so now I gotta make room
you are talking 1 lane in each direction, correct?
yep we have little roads
I should be using this opportunity to clean my "studio." But I haven't gotten bored enough for that yet!
Once I get the all the masks made, I'm going to clean my sewing room. That never happens.
vi, I'm doing a very silly cartoon of my D&D party. better than no art :)
I also need to figure out what to do with all the scraps I've created from cutting masks.
I have another batch going right now waiting for stage 2 of sewing.
I have thrown mine in a box to stuff something. I have in the past used scraps to stuff a draft dodger for my front door and a cube shaped ottoman.
Ha, sounds fun. And as you say, always good to be doing something, even if it's not "serious." We have a family D&D game going.
I've also been gifted 20 bird seed bags that I am goint to make tote bags from.
our weekly one has turned into a daily one at the moment
I sew my scraps (of quilting fabrics, anyway) into hand-pieced crazy quilts. It gives me something to work on while I'm in meetings. No plan, just add one piece at a time and it gets bigger and bigger until it's big enough, and then I finish it.
I want to get back to making athletic clothes. I have enough fabric for a month's gym wardrobe
you hand sew them, vicuna?
Carla, I cut mine into precut sizes. I've even got a bin that contains 2"x2". I want to make a postage stamp quilt.
hello
These little crazy quilts, yes. The quilts I make "for real" I do by machine.
I've done that too, Vicuna.
I have 2 finished tops I made and need to quilt plus, 10 that my grandmother left finished and unquilted that I told my mom I would finish and give to the cousins. but there's just not enough time!
I've also been using those bits for quilt as you go to back fabric baskets and totes.
bzz Probably because you don't want to do those things?
U stats pls?
You people who get along well with a needle and thread amaze me. That has never been the case for me. And sewing machines? Forget it. They break when they see me coming.
I think I might just straight line quilt the ones my grandmother made, though I did buy a baptist fan stencil. I know she used to do baptist fan a lot, but I've never used stencil and chalk.
I have ut5 & 7, mlfan
ur.4.5
I don't enjoy the actual quilting part of quilts, just the piecing of the tops. So I just do the minimum of quilting.
up6
molly I watch quilting and sewing shows on tv all the time. I cant sew and the patience you need to make quilts/do sewing projects I cant deal with it
same. exception was I made a t-shirt quilt and FMQ around all the designs and that was fun.
Usually just quilt in the ditch, and as little as possible to keep it safely together.
Same with me, Vicuna. And I know I could do free motion quilting, but I just don't want to practice.
is it a female word?

pr9 starts with before
Well, pr9 is a normal word if you're Roman.
misspelled Roman guard

yes that missing A is very nnoying
and good morning
hi dorens!
Carla, it ends with the era named after a British queen.
am still on line 1 hr 38 minutes and counting trying to cancel Alaskan cruise I had booked with my kids and grandkids for this summer
am still on line 1 hr 38 minutes and counting trying to cancel Alaskan cruise I had booked with my kids and grandkids for this summer
lol, was trying to end it that way before but couldn't make my brain go down to that e
Oof, that's painful, Doren.
The travel industry must be in big trouble right about now.
I am still waiting for my vrbo refund. the owner said all his renters got their refund but me and then the system got way backed up.
ty doren googled that clue and got the pr9
You know it, Molly. They have planes lined up nose to tail everywhere.
the world turned upside down
if the virus threat ever passes, travel industry will be the first to rebound IMO. everyone will want to get somewhere away!
everyone and everything is out of wack!
wish it had, Id be in new zealand
yeah, but isn't it about to get cold in NZ?
i'm not sure about the cruiselines. NOT interested in credit for a cruise at this point. maybe ever
yeah.. i guess i have to look into cancelling my vacation in Canada this summer
got to be warmer than here!
it's hard to know, ru. We booked a house in MV to substitute for the cruise. But now who knows?
we took a cruise a few years ago and half my family didn't like it so we never went again. I'm good not doing it again now.
i know .. i was thinking i'd contact the owner and wait until late May or June to make a final decision
I just need the campgrounds to open back up
Ha ha, Ata. I'd be in the ocean, so I'm better off this way. It would be a bit of a swim to Perth.
i'm never doing a cruise.. ugh.. not my thing
I think the cruise industry will be the hardest hit.
my husband was very resistant from the get-go because he's terrified of norovirus.
I have never understood the appeal, Ru.
it always amazes me that I'm on about the same latitude as Juneau
Owner of our MV house is lovely, said we could wait till May and see how things are doing I'm sorry for her and all the folks who depend on shortterm rental income right now
Yeah, Europe is super far north by American standards.
I liked it okay, but have had motion sickness my whole life and it's really bad now. took bonine every day of the cruise and was fine but not sure I could do that now.
Oops, PB for me.
I'm done here. Any clues before I go?
nice
have a good day, bea
Cruises are/were best way to efficiently see much of Alaska. But we're not interested anymore. I will say though that the Crystal Cruise I did few years ago of the Greek Islands was spectacular. And not one of those behemoth ships
Yay for BzznBea! I have 29 to go and will head off to other things for now. Bye, all.
bye vi!
Bye Vi, bye bea
my friend & I were talking about doing the HI cruise with families when our youngests graduate in '21, but now I don't think so.
Auf Wiedersehen, ya'll.
i'd rather just borrow someone's yacht doren :D
I definitely could not do a yacht
well, if you have that option..................
i don't.. but i'm game to meet people who do :D
well I'm stuck with 51 left. guess I will get to work for a while and come back. TTFN
We have charter yachts around here, but I am sure it is insane expensive
does the aq 8 start with aq4 for water?
oops will be back..
so fun news... I tested positive! On a positive note, I don't feel terrible!
oh great phan.. i hope it doesn't progress
aww, sorry phand, but yay for your immune system. How were you able to be tested? My SIL is pretty sure he has it, but can't get tested
glad to hear that you are feeling ok ....
I'm sure you will be okay Phan. I'm rooting for you.
what made you get tested
I had symptoms and I work in a nursing home that had positive test results. Husband cannot yet get tested as he does not have any symptoms.
i was thinking about you the other day. i'm sorry
yikes..
I wonder how many people will get this, have mild symptoms, and not get tested.
Molly, I think that is the best outcome bc then one has some immunity
except NO ONE can predict the outcome if one is infected.
Meanwhile, we can hope for a vaccine to be developed
that is what I meant, that the only thing one suffers is mild symptoms
dorens are you still here?
my friends that are in their mid 50s are almost over it, but then I heard a girl from my oldest's class (so 19 yo) had it and now has pneumonia but is expected to recover fully. my husband says he wants to get it, to get it over with, but that's the thing, you have no idea how it will affect you or your family.
That is true! You can't predict. I am worried for my husband who has high BP
Even healthy people that are surviving are not surviving the same. there is potential for breathing issues for life, scarring of hte lungs, etc. Just because they aren't dying does not mean it is still "better" to get it
morning all
it's just been announced that school is done for the year.
remote learning is encouraged, but not mandatory.
Oh wow! Your in Wash State, right?
it looks like our schools will not reopen either....
Maine here...
People, please, consult your physicians for accurate information on this virus. The internet is not a fountain of truth.
School closings for the rest of the year are going to cripple school based day care centers.
I went to BJ's today and forgot my mask and gloves
Wash your hands and don't touch your face
not touching your face is the #1 way to avoid getting sick...
But then again, maybe don't listen to me, I have it...
But I work in a high exposure field so...
rane
opps
phan try putting a word in from the grid some of us might not have please??:Dlol
aq 8 clue please?
more than one fish tank
hi mool!
that just gave me AQ 7
ooh, thx, moo. got 2fer
I don't have eihter
either
wait, are there two aq8
got the 8!
nm, I finished that a
4 5 7 8 aq words
greyed that a
AQ 7 - pl of fish tanks, AQ 8 - person born under a sign of zodiac
As a person who is constantly touching her face, I am doomed. I do wash my hands and use sanitizer a lot though.
I never used sanitizer before now. It is killing my hands.
I too touch much face a lot
molly. just use soap or hand soap
liquid soap
I do as well
I struggle with keeping my hands off my face as well. use the inside of my shirt a lot now.
make sure you follow the 20 second rule. repeats of Happy Birthday to you
hokie I do both
i have heard you can sing it once while washing your hands and you should be fine?
pre 9 pls?
twice
20 sec. supposed to be one chorus of country Roaads
lol, that's what they teach in wv?
depends if you are a Glenn campbell fan
true story: I grew up in SW VA and sing it that way
I am limiting what I expose myself to on-line. The Doom and Gloom-ers are starting to wear me out.
did he write that? cause John Denver popularized it.
yeah, same, Molly
It is the ones who still insist on going out and having visitors that do my head in
Two other people wrote it and gave it to John Denver who gets credit for writing it - now the fourth state song of WV even though there are geogrpahical errors in it
i saw an article(did not read it) that said you can get it from pets. i checked the cdc page and they said no
i also heard on tv a few days ago you cannot give or get it from pets
There is a zoo with 7 tigers with it.
seriously jaxx?
yes, I heard a tiger caught it from a zookeeper in NY
As far as the singing thing goes, it depends on how fast you sing. I just did both songs (Happy Birthday and Country Roads) and they both timed out at 16 seconds.
wv i thought he did write it?
molly i thought the same thing too
but I also read that they could carry the germs on their fur.
I was walking my dog one day and some lady had to pet him so then I had to come home and give him a bath
According to one of our news channels. there was a chap writing about his experience in China when he had Covid 19 and his kitten died alongside him. He, however, survived
okay, back to work here. TTFN
Really folks, the less news you listen to right now, the better. It is fodder for anxiety.
Someone recommended one bulletin from the Government and one news bulletin a day. Otherwise you could go crazy with all the conflicting information
Bill Danoff and his wife, Taffy Nivert, wrote the classic song with help from Denver. They were in VA and they were writing about the winding roads of VA.
not the winding mountain ro4s of wv?
The song also sings about the Shennadoah river and the Blue ridge Mts. which are both in VA
molly the cdc page says no that it cant happen
the blue ridge pts are part of wv too ?
No that what can't happen?
animals cant get the virus or give it to anyone
I didn't comment on the animals thing
i know but their are articles and this zoo thing but not wha cdc says so who knows
waiting for my lunch to heat up. we got it from animals, so it must be zoonotic, right?
not really - the border between WV and VA is along the highest point in the mountains. Allegheny Mountains are the western side in WV. Blue ridge Mts are the eastern side in VA
we?
The whole bat thing has been taken back.
also, I grew up in the mts. of VA, wvteach, so now I don't feel bad about changing the chorus when I sing it to "southwest virginia"
wv ohh you know your geography beter then i do lol
oh really? see, I don't follow anything.
lol hokie
hokie any plans to go back for good?
Again, what you read on the internet is not rock solid truth. The CDC site may be more fact based than others. And the CDC site does mention animals that have tested positive.
Was Carla being overly cautious giving her dog a bath after some random person pet him? I don't think so. We are not supposed to be touching each other, or the pets of others.
whos licking their cats lol
Huh?
warning -- get out of the program before you wipe down your keyboard --- it screws everything up!
now that I've rebooted -- good morning :)
Why are you wiping down your keyboard? Are you afraid you are going to give yourself the virus? : D
cyber yeah that might help
glad you are back:)
I only clean keyboards when computers are turned off.
recommended - possibly have a virus on my hands from touching other things
Cleaning keyboards, touchpads, doorknobs , handles, handrails and taps on a daily basis is being recommended here.
My phantoms so far: superior, parrot, steroid
Why can't I get any O's?!

ugh - nothing like allergies to convince me that it's not allergies :)
now off to walk the dog! still have 45 to go here.
Ohh
TY fireworks.
I have non-allergic rhinitis, so I literally have throat-clearing, sneezing, runny nose like all year round, but it is always worse in the spring, as it is right now.
if we walked together (of course, in proper socially distant fashion), we'd get a really wide berth :)
see you all tomorrow
bye, gramma
yep :D
bye, gramma
A lot of people struggle with seasonal allergies at this time of year. The pollen is off the charts around here and my eyes are itchy every day.
We are in pine pollen season. We went out last night and got carry out. ON the way home it poured. When we got home it hadn't rained at all. I was hoping it would wash some of the pine pollen out of the air.
mixi it rained here in my area sometime before 5 am
help with the re 6/7 he ones who brough you up isn't helping me?
You sometimes call your ass your ____end. Make it a one who does and plural. Please don't spell the word in the chat.
butt people?
Yes, I believe Bertha was one them.
strange the 7 wouldn't take but finally did
ty
oddly enough, I actually thought of it originally as a horse, they re4 up on their hind legs, and if one does, he is a re6.
pain in the ass
pita!
now that you bring it up rbud, I'm not sure that I think about the definition when I find a word for the most part
hahaha, I remember that about Bertha!
well, the part about if a horse does it is probably not really in use as a word, so kind of silly of me to mention it. But it worked for me.
The most common use of it that way is to re4 it's ugly head. But the original clue that did not light the bulb was about re4ing children.
Well it made sense to me when I thought about it
is there more than on pr6?
I have 2 so far
Yes two
still plenty of P's to eat for me
I am looking for the pr9 must have the wrong pr6 then
ty peri
yes you do
tough grid for me
Peri, before + a hill or rocky peak
its not easy that's for sure
ty Molly
and the pr9
or5 clue pls?
a promotion for bauxite? ;)
bauxite?
stuff that you smelt to get aluminium
hahaha, wow, that worked for me, mool. I used to be good at rebus puzzles - maybe that's why
I must admit I've used it before, but I do enjoy those kinds
i have no idea mool sorry
perhaps it's what an irishman might do with a book?
have also used that one too
haha! I like that one, too.
hi again - groceries and butcher order picked up, wiped off and stored --- what a pain!
pr8 pls
sounds like you have been having fun cyber?
I watched a video the other day where a guy was showing how to deal with takeout burgers and such - open the paper wrapper with gloves on and drop the burger upside down on a plate, toss the paper - it was kinda funny. Though I got the point of course.
peri starts with prefix for before and ends in vic******days or clothes?
rbud now that's the way to do it!lol
I don't get the last part of your clue mlf
middle is ***nado
ends in libra**** a person in charge of books
isn't that the pr9
No pr 8 only the pr9
I have the pr9 already ty
I am missing 4 8's and lots of other words. 60 words to find
I have aq 7 and 8, qu 8 and 9, st 8, and to 8. Still need two. Happy to clue if you pick the ones you need.
(still need two 8's, I mean)
51 left here
the pr 9 could also be someone from one of South Africa's capitals :)
I was thinking of the dude with the blade legs who murdered his girlfriend, but that was pistorius or something
is ar6 a regular word? I can't seem to find it.
yep, regular word
you may want to look "back" at your words
behind in payments minus last letter
thx
surprised en8/9 is not allowed
can't put more rubber on your tires either
yeah, it is odd
well, that is a real word too! (re8)
you normally can nan, but if I'm not mistaken the tiles don't quite allow you to do it
lol - just realized you probably can with the tires - it's a phantom
yep
:D
maybe we need to setup an en7
doubtful these enable people can be found. and isn't that in7?
french clown is back though
I definitely don't know french clown
apparently it's either hoke...looked it up
interesting
if I'm really tired, I like to take a supernap
en__ minds want to know
yeah, a supernap would be great
pi 7: clown character in french mime theatre
I think I'm going to go sit by the pool for a while and read. who knows, maybe supernap
although...I have found definitions that separate them and some that combine the two...so I guess it probably started as separate then common usage has made it less cler
sounds good hoke, enjoy
thx. will save 31 for later.
And for those of you who are afraid of clowns DO NOT look that one up. Nightmare city.
en 7 is there -- but not the national one(s)
yeah
yeah, I was saying en8 and 9 should be allowed.
I am having trouble getting up from this chair
they should, because that would complete my 9s ;)
you can't ask again either
I have the 9s but only 2 8s
yeah, only 2 9s here too
oh nm - that's an in
before I go, is pa5 regular?
going to quit while I'm ahead
um not exactly
it's an alternate spelling of a p4
Pr,Qu,Su
didn't think so since I've tried a bunch
got it
too many vowels
but hey, it's all greek to me
supertoad isn't good....the shame of this dictionary knows no bounds
just found the su 9, thanks
figured the su was Trump's autoroute
oops, I didn't realise how close I was
apologies
already had it
one should not post guesses when one doesn't know the real word
but a crime fighting ranid is hard to pass up
I guessed supertoer earlier, when regular toer isn't even allowed
and the qu 8-9
I can dig that
:D
yep -- what came to my mind though was Carrera
Ah Agatha Christie's favorite Belgian is in the grid
also the texas billionaire
and former presidential candidate
yes
his company is now merged with CSC to form DXC
I liked Ross -- wasn't afraid to say what he thought
I did not know that
but it went through the acronyms EDS, HP and HPE along the way :)
does anyone have stats for the lone r?
sure
ugh, I always miss the alt sp of ra4
let me figure out which one it is :)
oh less common
re5/10 I think
was in yesterday's grid
so it's kinda what it means
nope, not that
yes, it's def. the one I said
it's the lions
mmm - only one I can see from there is to repair a shoe and that's not accepted
oh
okay, ignore me
RE 5/10
and that wouldn't be from the lone r anyway
see, zooz agrees with me emphatically
yes, you two are right
ah -- back to earlier times :)
ty everyone
I will always agree with you , Hokie. Especially when your are coreect. â¤
:D
Correct even.
trying to finish that corner a, but everytime I type something it is from the other one
the corner one is all aq if that helps
Aq 4,5,7,8
just have the colour so far
My birth sign is from there.
don't forget the latin(?) pl
and pl fish tanks
oh and the tetra's tanks
and adjective -- done - ty
right column greyed
ok, cursory pass through the list and I have 13 left. really getting up now. TTFN
Bye, Hokie. Have a nice day.
still 32 left here
still need 78 here, but haven't been at it for very long and haven't listed
no lists for me...but I've been at it a while
down to 26, but I have 15 fours to go....strange board
well, found 8 of those fours...and a 5 so down to 17 now
Just watched a video that is like being hit over the head with a sledgehammer. You can probably find it if you google TRT world coronavirus worldometer
I was just looking at the data here in Colorado and we may be starting to curve back off the big ramp, so I'm hopeful we may be seeing some light here
en7/49 plus a suffix is not accepted, even if that is the name of a Cincinnati newspaper!
yes - that was discussed earlier
ah. I just wandered in. How is everybody?
I'm solo in place, thus solo seders for Passover. I still made two kinds of charoset.
good -- spent a big chunk of the morning out picking up grocery and meat orders then wiping everything down and storing it
good for you melon -- we celebrate easter, so picked up a small ham today. I agree it is strange to be celebrating alone though.
I have two weeks worth of food at home now, and all the paper supplies, toiletries, etc. I've been on solo walks.
after 1 pm here -- guess I should go and have lunch.
Also bike rides. Biking gives such a sense of freedom. I ride solo, about 20 miles rt every other day.
Have a good lunch, cybernan.
hello friends
rainy, thundery day here
... cold and windy and gonna rain later tonight here in the great white north ... ... east of here it's supposed to snow heavily ... ... as long as it's east of here I don't mind too much
blustery here
Hello all - our 21 day lockdown has just been extended by a further 14 days until end of April - weird and tough times
My daughter in Maine is getting a big snowstorm tonight!
... that's east of here .... though I'll admit that Nova Scotia and especially Newfoundland which are gonna get some more too have already had an exceptionally heavy pile of snow this winter
It is against the law to leave our property for any reason except for food or medical reasons - no dog walking or gatherings - have not laid eyes on my kids or grandkids for 3 weeks
is the west coast looking more attractive dos?
... wrong side of the mountains ... the air is too full of strange things
it is?
... we're not quite that harsh ursh ... no gatherings but dog walking and walks are okay as long as your stay socially distant
... oh yeah ... althoughs '60s folk were breathing in far too many things for a long time ... ... besides that my out-laws ... oops ... in-laws live around Victoria
... the other side of the mountains is good for them
I am sure there is a fair amount of funny stuff being exhaled in ON as well
... and it's legal here too
yes - that is unfortunate isn't it
... I don't disagree ... but my wife would... and too many of those '60's folk who I used to be one of don't object
all though I must say a love living here -- mild climate, lots to do -- over 100 wineries in the valley, orchard and vegetable stands to take adavantage of all summer - what's not to like?
I think that sort of thing was more prevalent in Vancouver in the 60's.
... very true ... I just find the mountains oppressive ... you're in Kelowna aren't you? ... I drove through Lethbridge to Vancouver through the Crow's Nest Pass and when I got to the top of the fifth mountain range and looked down into the valley at Kelowna it just lifted my spirit after all those mountaings ... .. and then I saw the range on the other side of the lake and got all despressed again
... ah well ... chacun a son gout ... ... must be off ... luck to all who continue the struggle
lol - there are at least 5 miles between the two "hills" on either side of the lake and the lake is 2 miles wide in most places
ursh, that is HARSH! Sorry, just catching up on the chog
I hope you have a big garden to walk around in at least?
I am such a flat lander. We went to my nephew's wedding in the Georgia mountains and I didn't feel right until we got back to where you could see the sky without big mountains in the way.
I can understand though when we flew into Montreal for the first time I kept looking for the Laurentian Mountains --- didn't see anything but hills
My aunt used to say the prairies are wonderful - you can see forever. My mother would answer, yes but there is nothing to see.
I feel unfooted if I cant see the ocean, or at least a big body of water
yes, Ursh - we tune into the BBC every now and then -- understandable though -- people just weren't staying home and they weren't social distancing or wearing masks either.
people are not doing that here either, and it is SO unsettling. My sister ventured to a local supermarket this weekend, and some cow was RANTING at the employees for enforcing distancing and one way aisles. Lovely woman. (eyeroll)
we went to pick our online order this morning -- the mall is closed (only the grocery store is open) but the mall security guards have been kept on to police the entrance and ensure customers waiting to get in are spaced 6 feet apart.
This was at an 8 check-out store and they are only allowing 50 people at a time inside.
went through couple of main shopping strips today - Never seen so many groups of police on pavements eg outside fish shop long 'spaced' line of people buying their Good Friday fish. We are doing same here - spacing inside and out. People are making the effort to keep 1.5 metres apart, in fact it is now really unusual to have people pass closer, you feel quite space violated. Wearing masks seems to be more the norm now.
distance is 2 m. here
I definitely had a mask on. I'm trying to be less judgy of people not wearing masks - perhaps they don't have access
anyone can make a mask out of a table napkin, or any similar sized piece of cloth, and an elastic band. Instructions are on the internet and the technique has been demonstrated on TV twice that I've seen by your surgeon general
we're allowed about 20cm closer in the US :)
isn't it 6 ft in the US? 1 yard = 39 cm.
Wearing masks and gloves is not an "enforced" thing. Most people do not have access to masks that keep germs out. I see more people wearing gloves than masks.
And I realize that most masks keep germs in. But people don't think that way. They think about what will protect "them".
The idea behind everyone wearing masks is that people won't be as exposed to the coronavirus from people who are asymptomatic.
We still need to social distance even wearing a mask.
as most health officers are pointing out -- every little bit helps to flatten the curve.
Nan, there are people who just don't get it. That is the real problem. I saw people standing in a cluster chatting and talking today like nothing was going on. I see things like this most days.
To that point, I heard four people talking yesterday about how they believe the numbers are really inflated....kept a wide berth of them. There's also a group of about 12 that continue to meet at the dog park here, despite the orders.
On the plus side, most people in my neighborhood seem to be taking it seriously...keeping respectful distance, wearing nasks.
Had to take the cat to the vet yesterday, and they're all sett up to keep distance. They come out to your car, take your pet and then call you to do the consult.
"To that point"...is that the new buzz phrase. People in my office say it so often during the day that it seems silly.
I guess you feel it's pointless then :)
the one that bothers me most is "due diligence" although that one seems to be losing popularity
Nope nothing is pointless. Except maybe saying "to that point" twenty times a day. People seem to latch onto buzz phrases and wear them out like a bald tire.
not surprising people don't get it when you have a imthat announces on TV that he isn't going to wear a mask be that just isn't him
*have a president that announces
I will try that again -- he said, No - I'm not going to wear a mask. That just isn't me.
Males are at a higher risk, and I think part of it is that kind of thinking
Isn't his face already a mask? Possibly made of Cheeto dust?
A friend of mine used to say if you think your hair is more important than your head, then you're probably right
with respect to wearing helmets on bikes and motorbikes
13 to go...
I love NY's logo: STAY home - STOP the spread - SAVE lives
I liked Jay Inslee's comment (Governor of Washington State)....tape a picture of a doctor or nurse to your dashboard so that you take a look a them each time you get in your car, and determine whether your trip is essential
still three 8s to go...tough finish here
I'm back for my 13
also have 3 8's left, and I know what they are
passed you hoe...9 left here now :)
but 5 of them are 7 or 8 letters...so there's that
er hoke
Im not even halfway through yet, but just started
lol
maybe I should shift to carla...less risky
you can also call me homie like others :D
yeah, I could do that...but probably wont :)
any clue for re7, 28 or re6,19 ?
homie don't play dat (old ref, I'll be impressed if you get it)
re7/28 - horses that jump up suddenly
or parents
re 6/18...is the singular
there's also other re 6/18s but assume that's the one you want
dang..have that..here I've been looking all afternoon, LOL
or people who like to hang back?
that has never happened to me ever Suzee...not that anyone can prove...I already deleted the logs
lol
if it indeed happened
nothing to see here
hehee
still missing an i...and I don't mean because I'm a pirate
there is a pe5/12 giving me a really hard time
I hate it when I can't find a 5
i can't even find some of the 4 letter words
I have all the 5s done
I still have 2
might be one that looks kind of like a pe6, which you may not have either
have three 4s left
my 4s are finished
nice
might try and finish the 4s instead of looking at the tiles
it is the pi 5 and 6 that I can't find
oh boy, that was an easy one
yeah, not common words, though they might enunciate the same way
I can't find pe5/12 and pe6/21
could dumps in scrabble, particularly the 6
could=good
pi5 is common near the beach
piano
piper
pi6 is I assume a weird spelling of a fish
pinch
nope
ty - had the singular, missed the plural
both the pe 5 and 6 have more vowels than consonants
and now a fishy fish -- ty
have one solitary 4 left now
4s done
6 to go
I have one pe5/12 that's weird but can't find the one before it
the pe 5 before the pe5?
maybe you need to "look" harder
wow
couldn't move down all the way
yeah, coz you can get the singular off the side p, and maybe miss the plural
because it comes from the top
I knew it had to be that p, but still was going to the side
yeah, that left side is very attractive
I blame written language, always starting at the top left
although some cultures do read in different directions
yep, it's a struggle
wonder if they'd be more drawn to the right side or top
is the pe6 just the 5 with a vowel added? I feel like I've tried everything.
yes
I have literally added every vowel. going to just look it up now.
might be adding it in the wrong spot
they verbally sound similar I think, but might not if you anglify them
the pe 6 ends like a spanish aunt or river
*begins with a french father
re 6/18 following the horsey parents, please?
to make money...again
ty mool
finally looked it up. ridiculous. I swear I tried that.
oh, I didn't have that one either, thanks.
yeah, scrabble certainly helped me with that one
apparently it's a thorax...so there's your learning done for today
well looks like I'm done with 6 left
7 left, r's, s's, & t's
good evening to you all, hope you're doing okay or better in your parts of the world
is that good evening a goodbye?
dinner time here. I guess the last 7 will have to wait.
st 7-8 please?
s + water from your eye + not out add vowel to end for the 8
ty rbud
yw
I don't believe it -- some idiot wants us all to go and have a happy hour at the club house patio (sitting 6 ft apart, but still!!!)
Molly is correct -- some people just don't get it
terrine isn't accepted
tried it many times but you can't get RR then in
try alt. sp - like the soup container
terrine would be accepted if it was in the grid ... terrien is not in the dictionary
so another phantom
Nan, seriously they don't get it. I'm still hearing people say they "have been on vacation". Really? Where? Hotels are not open. Restaurants are not open. And the last thing anyone needs to do is go stay at someone else's house to "visit".
... unfortunately ... I could use another 7
the little dog?
te7.28 ends like the soup dish
yes - said that 5 min. ago
sorry - I read that as tried!
to 6/18 following the bullfighter please?
there's just one to6/18
... ripped + most of a greek letter
oh, just looked up to8. to6 is also a bullfighter, that's why I was confused what you were asking.
ditto my confusion, i had the 6 but not the 8 when cnan asked, lol
mmm - ripped the verb or ripped the adjective and greek letter? don't know many of those
I guess it has to be ripped the verb
yes
... ... instead of the letter ... what you do with a small boat
ty dos
one left, a 5/10 that I know the first 3 letters and the 4th one has to be only one thing and I still can't get the 5th?
ugh, finally remembered this word. stupid double vowel ending
the place where the basketball court is
well, that's it for me. good night, y'all
:)
sorry, a was actually an article in my statement. it was to5/10
took me a while to figure out what you were saying :D
lol whatever, you got your word, that's what matters
yep

People who dig rocks, dopmfr.
Yowza...we're digging rock.
Think of a large, deep pit that people excavate from. Then make it the people who do the excavation. Plural.
It’s so easy once you clock into it! Thanks.
