ihi all -- been sitting staring at this for about 5 minutes and trying to stay awake. Think I'll give up and leave it for tomorrow. Good night and stay safe.
good night Nan!
night nan, sleep well.
night, nan!
Clues are up
ty Lickety
Sleep well and stay safe, too.
Thanks, Lickety

Ok, I didn't get to this yesterday but I do want to thank Molly and the rest of you lovely ladies on the menopause/dry skin hint yesterday. I thought my detergent had changed their formula but you wonderful girls made me think again and do additional research and, hey, that's probably my problem, lol. I had a procedure about 15 years ago and have not had a visible 'cycle' in that time so had/have no idea, but now have add'l info to look into to keep from digging all the skin off my body, lol. So happy Good Friday to me and Happy/Blessed Easter to all who include it in their calendars.
IN 8
thanks
:)
Thanks
:)
25 left, be back in the morning to finish, good night babblers :)
'gnight
looks like it has been quiet for awhile...
How are you feeling Phan?
Glad you got some insight on things amelu. Menopause started all kinds of issues for me, dry skin and dry hair just two of them. The vaseline and cotton gloves at night thing really works. Same for vaselne and cotton socks for your feet. My feet are even dryer than my hands, and I am not constantly washing them.
even better!
Thank you for asking, Molly!
Amelu, it is hard to know when you are starting through menopause even with a montly cycle. Glad we could help give some insight into your dry skin issue. Babble chat, helping women through menopause since 2003.
I'm glad you are doing so well, Phan.
nota note
Thank you. Me too. Just holding my breath about my husband getting sick...
anyone have a clue for the AP6?
a + first two of what you call someone on + first three of what you respond "you're welcome" to
Sorry, clumsy clue. It is a weird word
clumsy clues work! It is a weird word, going to look it up now...
Thank you!
ty Molly
Thanks, Molly.
and the AR 5?
ar + head covering
Thanks Bea, I miscalculated and thought I needed 2 2 point tiles...
And that was just not making any sense!
need to take a nap... Didn't sleep great last night so.
good morning all
good afternoon!
Hey, Ata.
ata.. i don't believe i have ever thanked you for turning me on to Highland Park.. i'm a total fan.. it's one of my staple scotches in the cabinet
LOL :D isnt it lovely!
it's really perfect
I think so, I've never met any whisky drinker that doesn't at least really like it
so.. thank you very much.. it's been an eye opener
good good :) always happy to spread the word of orkney whisky!
Here's to good whiskey, and lots of it.
i did finally get to taste the Loki in San Diego
now thats really amazinf
it cost me $145 for a shot though
Holy crap
YIKES!
it was incredible.. the best scotch i've ever tasted .. ever
yes, here too. I think we got a bottle for £300 ish when it first came out. but its whisky on a different level
it was on an expense account bea and Molly..
LOL! Bet they loved that ticket.
it certainly is.. even my 1978 MacCallan wasn't nearly as great
yeah.. i said someone in the group had expensive taste :D
Yeah, but your expenses come out of your own pocket, don't they?
yeah.. but it's a write off too.. and i'd never get a chance to try it otherwise.. a bottle here if you can find it is over $1,000
Have you done your weekly shopping yet, Molly?
sometimes you just have to do these things :)
yeah.. i was so curious and this was the first time i'd ever seen it on a bar.. the place is called Whiskey House and it has the world record of whiskeys available by the glass.. the loki was worth every penny.. just insanely delicious scotch
sorry.. didn't mean to hog the chat
middle column bottom A stats pls?
at4
hi ruru ty
You can hog the chat anytime, ru.
:D it was a life changing experience bea
would you do it again ruru?
I toasted Ata the minute i had my first taste
:D
would i do it again.. absolutely next trip to San Diego
who needs to eat anyways ? :D
last column A stats pls?
AF4
ty ruru
oh theres a nice appropriate scottish ta6
Any one have any exciting isolation plans for the day?
be annoyed at H words
LOL! I just finished those.
i am starting a new book today... just finished one. and i'm making coq au vin for the first time
I think I had better mow the lawn today, at least in the front
Coq au vin sounds lovely. What wine will you use?
'morning all (which highland park did you try, ru?)
...and which one is the 'every day go-to' one, ata? (my other half loves single malts)
any of them are lovely welki
my house highland park is the 18 year old welki.. it's fabulous and reasonable
a nice pinot bea.. for the dinner
i've also tried the Dark Matters and like that a lot too. They had a 47 year old on the list at the Bar, but it is $849 a shot as I remember
even the 12 year old is pretty good
oh my - there are two 18 year olds on the site i'm looking at - one is +$500 and the other +$1000
yes the 12 is really good but the 18 year old is waaay better
it's $145 here welki
We love the HIghland 18!
i know now how Canada can pay for healthcare :D
i'm not crazy for scotch, but can be talked into a nice rusty nail every now and again
whats that? whisky and ...?
this is scotch at another level welki.. really beautiful stuff
It's $200.00 here. I belong to a Scotch Tasting group - it gets expensive!
a little bit of drambuie, ata
next trip to the usa welki.. just buy some in NJ
Try the Jura 10 if you like Drambuie or Cognac!
and save yourself $300
i only have one cognac in the cabinet here
welki have you tried glayva? can you even get glayva over there?
I think I'm turning into a millenial i've been drinking so many liquors :D
heh - 1976 Jura 40 yr old is $2541. CAD
says we can get it, i've never seen it, though. sounds botanical
its whisky liqueur really and its gorgeous if you don't like proper whisky and like honeyed versions
do they allow you to bring back liquor from the us welki when you visit here?
yes, ru - don't know what the limits are, but i know you can bring a bottle or two back
they allow me to bring two bottles of wine when i come without taxes
not sure about liquor though
hmm, 111 words on the 11th
heh - at this rate, it'd be more economical to just take a trip to visit ata and drink at her table :)
Rather ominous...
we could drive up to highland park and take photos to annoy ru
it is my birthday too. worst birthday I can ever remember!
no one needs to see a photo of me passed out on the driveway of the distillery
Happy Birthday, Homie!
its a very pretty driveway
I'd bake you a cake...
happy birthday, carla!! (mine is monday - i agree with you ahead of time)
GF, of course.
Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday Hokie Happy Birthday too you!
aw, thanks, bea. and happy early birthday to you welki. I was supposed to be in FL right now, and my friend whose family we were going with also has her birthday on Mon.
thanks, mlfan
yw hokie
Bea, I have a Godiva chocolate torte mix with ganache that I am going to make later.
My husband's bday is nn mother's Day this year
is that 1st or 2nd Sun in May? I can never rem.
that sounds amazing
Whoa. Happy birthday Holie!!
Hokie that is
:D thanks
lol - now that there's funny
How many are you?
just checked my profile, it has updated automatically. guess I am now 47.
Aw. A young puppy
Don't feel older than 80 on most days :D
and I had to pull out like 5 new gray hairs the other day.
i have a lot of grey on the sides
that n IS REALLY PISSING ME OFF
these were all right in the front
which one?
Second column
yeah, I have only found 2 there
church part?
ooh, good one, bea
nice church word before easter
<---doesn't go to church
and unexpectedly consonant-y words
ends in people you used to be married to
or person I should say
There is also the chemical found in petro from that one, I think.
I now have 5 from there but not sure what all of them mean :D
bea, is the a in 5th col weird?
theres mr scamander :)but from a different n
no, carla
yep :D always nice to see another HP fan
the i is starting to annoy me
ok.. closed out the t's..
oh.. found the 8
hey, found a scottish related word!
finished the f's and didn't even notice. was typing in random made up stuff for nothing!
I went to the grocery store yesterday. What a fluster cluck!
You know, we can wear our masks and our gloves, but it only takes one idiot, like I saw in the store today...coughing all over his self check out terminal..to spread this stuff around. Bless the store employee who went and sanitized the terminal once the idiot left.
i went yesterday too bea.. it was nice once i got in the store.. they're only letting a few people at a time
mr. bf is planning a trip tomorrow. I don't know if it's the whole state or just here but they are limiting # of shoppers inside now.
sorry, mr. bf is what I call him on my other thing
mr. homie
I miss the days when I was the only one in the grocery store at 6 AM.
People in my town barely follow the traffic laws. We think they are going to follow one way signs in the grocery store?
good point
and thanks for the t word ;)
I stood at the end of an aisle waiting for the two people to finish before I stepped in. Had three people walk around me to get in the aisle.
Your welcome.
one p to go
Did you get everything you needed, Molly?
I have had that same thing happen to me Bea. And yes, I got everything I needed.
And a few things I could have passed on, but hey, I'm living large these days. Why not?
there's a woman that has done that to me twice on my street. I'm waiting for oncoming traffic since there are cars parked on my side and she comes up behind and just goes around me. last time I saw her coming I was in mr. homie's truck and I angled it to block her. made me so angry.
i get people who stop and look at lettuce and it takes them ten minutes to decide which one
you do get them?
Things here are starting to become more available now that people understand how long term this is. It also helps that stores are limiting 2 of each item.
We have a three lane highway that narrows to two after a major intersection. It is clearly marked that the right lane ends, merge left. Yet people line up in the right lane anyway. I never let them in.
thanks hokie and Molly and lickety - firewords
speaking of lettuce, the romaine I'm growing looks like it's ready!
well done, dan. not sure I did anything to help, but yw
Pinch it off and it will continue to grow.
I wish it was warm enough here to grow things. I had to take the one hanging basket of flowers I have out, in last night because of a freaking freeze warning in April.
covered tomatoes and lettuce last night and moved the peach tree into the screened porch
you can grow salad greens, they like this weather. i am trying them for the first time.
It is cold here today too, Molly. I'm glad we waited to get out houseplants out.
50 right now but was like 33 or 34 earlier. supposed to be 69.
I'm trying to rid a flower bed off my back porch of vinca vine. That sh*@ is tenacious!
good morning all. Kind of down today - week 5 of self distancing and it is getting old. Skyped with elder son yesterday - his birthday. Haven't seen him since last September and haven't seen most of the grandkids or our daughter since last August. The Vancouver bunch we visited at Christmas, but it seems like such a long time ---- sure hope this pandemic passes soon. I know most of you are in the same boat.
I remember planting vinca at my mailbox in our first house. it was good for me since I tend to kill things
yep, nan. it stinks. hang in there.
Was it the flowers or the vine, Carla.
oh, it was the flowers. didn't realize the vine was a different thing
but the flowers do great in heat/drought conditions ;D
I'm sorry you are feeling that way, Nan. It is hard to not be able to see friends and family. I hate it.
Yes, they are very heat tolerant. And I do like the flowers, just not the vine.
finished the w!
I have three very close and long time friends back in KS. Right now, I am so angry with them, I will not even look at their texts.
They are gallvanting all over the place, visiting friends and family. They are all having huge Easter dinners at their homes.
they not buying into social distancing?
Not at all.
I told them the other day it was people like them that were making this quarentine last longer. Deaf ears.
I know Bea - I shouldn't complain. Our kids all live 300 - 600 miles away, but I still have a husband with me so I am not entirely alone unlike some of the seniors around here.
in good virus news, we did a zoom happy hour with our camping group last night and the couple that tested positive are now symptom free and seem to have beat it.
back at it. may I get a clue for the 1st EN 6 pls?
That's good news Hokie!
I don't have any yet, phand. hope you are feeling better today.
facsinated, phan
I am! Thank you
Hi phand -- still improving I hope ?
fascinate
hmm, no l, so not enthralled
my thoughts exactly...
oh, just found one relating to bad police work
That is good to hear, Carla. I'm sure you had a great time catching up.
yeah, got that too...
anagram that last part of the word
yeah, it's 5 couples counting us and it was almost like we were sitting around a campfire having campfire discussions
Thanks, Bea!
had hoped that it would help in getting the 7 but alas...
I have been thinking of how much this stay at home thing is going to change lives. Weddings that have to be canceled. Funerals that will be small. Graduations that won't happen.
are you looking for the en 7 phand? want a clue?
got it, though I'm a little slow. my anagram at first was a thing used to cover something :D
yes please.
en7 is a contestant in a compition
en7 One who goes in for a competition
Sorry...Jumped the gun on that one.
yes - I think this year's grads might have to have their dinner-dance in the fall.
Tx Bea!!
i cancelled my vacation yesterday or the day before.. so bummed out
yeah, molly, I've been thinking how my son most likely won't have his senior soccer season in the fall
And my spelling and typing stink today.
sorry, ru.. my son and his wife cancelled Ireland, their delayed honeymoon
a person who signs up for a contest or class is an en 7
Thanks, Nan!
No proms either.
bzz people can be heartless and brainless during these times
what was the timing for your vaycay ru?
I know, Molly. We have a young friend down the block who should graduate this spring. And she has a gorgeous dress for prom.
did I mention I was supposed to be in FL right now? also, we were going to do a trip for our 25th anniversary this summer (which was actually in Jan).
oh yeah.. i have to miss the prom too
I am watching a show about Vancouver Island and all of the animals that live there both in and out of the water.
did my first Zoom yesterday.. fun, some things still to learn
Very interesting show
Now they are wondering what her freshman year of college will look like as she was going away.
i was going in July Nan
I'm sorry you are going to miss the prom, ru.
i rented a house near qualicum but not to be
We were lucky, we were able to go to Jamaica in January, that was to celebrate our 30th which was in July...
Bzz and hokie.. I heard yesterday that the worst area for the stay at home thing and for not following the rules in NC is where I live Hubby and I are not involved in those "statstics .
Every time I mistakenly hit the reverse button on my phone camera, I realize how much I don't want to Zoom or Skype with anyone. : D
probably smart to cancel -- a lot of medical professionals are doubtful we will be completely over this by then or that there might be a 2nd wave.
I heard someone somewhere didn't follow the rules protocol and was arrested for not doing so
people still going to church there hokie?
phand, we still have a high schooler and I didn't want to leave him alone and go out of the country for our anniversary, so I said we'd go in the summer when the college kid was home.
Aloy, I hope you followed the advice given one of my gardeners who appeared in a Zoom meeting wearing only her bra...
the curve in BC has flattened, but our health minister keeps warning that will only be so as long as people continue to stay home.
the churches I'm on email list for are not even open, ruru
lol Bea.. neck up only
what was the advice bea?
my church back in VA is closed too
On a positive note, I heard an emergency room worker being interviewed on the radio and he says that local emergency rooms are not over crowded and they have room to treat those who need it.
hokie I saw that their are areas who still plan on celebrating tomorrow with church services
Our church is doing it on line. Has been for weeks now
our church streams the service online. church meetings and "gatherings" are held by Zoom
Molly in general or in a particular area?
yeah, I think once hospitals cut out elective surgeries a lot of room opened up. our friend that works for the hospital here says they are only half full right now.
Those areas planning on Easter services are also the ones that think The Orange Man is going to save them.
yes there are still a lot of people that need to go back to primary school where they can be taught reading comprehension.
bzz lol and the Tooth Fairy ?
I think the churches were trying to get an exemption that would allow them to have the people there in order to stream the service.
i just read about some republicans who overturned a governor's orders to halt church gatherings
Ru, the advice Playtex Cindy was given was to cover her camera with a post it.
I know my one church here had a Good Friday service yesterday on zoom, so I assume they're doing tomorrow online as well.
hokie but you don't need a lot of people for that you can do it from home or inside a church by yourself cant you?
People need to remember that church is not the only place you can be spiritual.
ah.. that's too bad bea.. at least i hope she provided an uplifting conversation
if the pope can hold easter services with only 7 people in the building, so can everyone else.
in our church the variou paarticipants record their parts at home, send it to the minister who puts it all together to stream online on sunday
yeah, from what I read, they just wanted to be able to go there with a bare bones crew for service and streaming, but it's possible some of them really want everyone there.
but then Italy has been hit so hard he, at least, probably understands what is going on.
I mean, you'd think they'd learn from that s. korean church where everyone got it
One pastor I read about said he was sure members of his congregation would be happy to contract the virus if they could worship together on Easter.
I would love to get five minutes with "Cindy" to let her know how much people don't want to see her old, wrinkled up body in a bra.
What was his name Bea? Jim Jones?
that's a pastor that wants money bea
LOL! That is exactly what I thought, ru. A mega church.
God told me to buy that private jet....
getting intermittent red boxes here
that's just distancing in the chat aloy :D
lol, good one ru
my grandmother used to listen to Gene Scott.. does

My hubby ate one of them
I made deveiled egg salad the other day. Mom cooked bacon yesterday. We had toasted bacon and egg sandwiches for breakfast.
yum - think I'll make some deviled eggs
I don't suppose the HA 6's build off their preceding words?
no, phan
no, phand
One is what you would put in your Easter bonnet.
bzz hubby was going to make egg salad for sandwiches but didn't have enough eggs. I love egg anything lol
deviled eggs YUM!
the first one ends in a number
thanks, Bea, now for that first one...
I was going to make deviled eggs with the eggs I cooked in my instant pot, put decided egg salad would be a better option.

so does my husband rurur
alloy I am glad its not just my chat
I make great egg salad too.
bzz is that the one ending in a number? I don't know the word if that is not the right one?
most of the time i'm too lazy and just buy them at the store (egg salad) but i have a lot of time on my hands these days
no, it is what you put in your bonnet
hubby and I don't add anything for crunch element or anything
no idea
ruru is the one you have bought just plain egg salad?
a bee?
harten
What is another name for a bonnet that begins with an H?
hi wv
wow...halfway and no 7 or 8 yet.
Women used them to keep on their head coverings back when you always wore one.
Hello
yeah.. just plain.. i like to add super thin celery, and use a great mustard i found
took a bit but I finally got the one that ends in a number. Thank you!
if it ends in a tennis *** that doesn't work?
ruru I hae never seen plain egg salad anywhere if I did I would buy it everytime I saw it
mustard and mayonnaise are good in egg salad
I add celery and onion as well as a whole grain mustard and a bit of horseradish. And of course, you have to use Duk's Mayo.
mlf, the ha6 is a compound word.
it's in the deli section at my local store.. i don't buy it at whole foods because they put raw onions in it which i can't stand in egg salad
i love Duke's mayo!
Duke's is the best
hi all.
ruru my husband like onions in his too i don't like it either
not sure they have that out west
hi mkg

I discovered on our cross country trip that hellman's is even called something else out west

Na x 2
Ta7. Extend plaid
are the two Na related to each other?
thanks again!
Na7/52 is part of a church
ahhhh thanks!
Ends in high point tile
i used to attend a church that actually utilized that word to refer to the lobby so i know it :D
You know you are playing a game with high value word nerds when people know what that word means. : D
Pi7 starts with a food measure
personally i always wondered why not just call it a lobby or foyer but whatev
thanks une!
Yw!!
na 7/40, pls
a narthext is set off by arches or open doorways, so it's technically not a lobby -- yeah, church historian here 8 - )
oop, na7, i mean! (sorry, meet me in the penalty box)
well then my church was using it wrong as there were no arches and just normal doors
ty BDG
been facebooking all morning, forgot to switch gears
naw, they have merely "modernized" the word
There's another ta7..... don't have it yet
or maybe the doors were added later
no, it was a new modern building, not an old one
well, it's such a cool word, why would anyone not want to use it, even for a lobby? LOL
i don't like it, as a word. i find it ugly and clunky.
ta7 = color + scarlett's home
oh, ty hurshy!
yeah, np, i went to the list :D
i try not to list until i get 2/3, almost there
okay, now i can list
Tx hursh!!
stuck at 61 words.........cant believe i cant get more.
ooh, got the 8
is the in8 a compound word using the in4 before it?
Any clues for the na7 40 please - have the very odd na752 - thanks
H's Hypnotized! 10 left
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everyone doing today
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers!Way to go
In is not a compound word but builds off the in 4 as do the rest of the in s
na 7/40 ... stuff like gasoline but more flameable
got it thanks
the "very odd" na7/52 is a part of church architecture. Appropriate for Easter weekend!
