Hey sprite! How are you feeling?
hiya Une! A little better again. How are you and yours doing?
All are ok except for a cousin in Louisiana in hospital with corona virus :-(
will pray for him/her. It is not a fun flu to struggle with, that's for sure.
Him..... thanks xo
ks finally killed
clue for the un 5 plz
hi ivesy, up + writing tool
ty sprite...babble blind lol. glad you are feeling better!
thanks! And I know that feeling, lol... happens to me all the time.
fireflies. A blessed day and a peaceful night, all. *leaves hug in chog for ro4 to find*
Morning all. Please may I have K stats?
I have kn 4/9
Ta! I do now, as well ;)
excellent
does anyone have the stats for the single top n pls?
nu4/6 rolin
ty...shall look now
i thought it was spelt with an e?
I think they're two different words. I think (and I'd have to look it up to be sure) the nu4 is like a plastic pebble.
Nope, I'm wrong. Carry on.
nu4le = plastic pebble
Gotya ;)
I'd like to know why du6/24 can't have an 's' added to it.
May I have a clue, please, for the et6-7 combo?
chemically
Perfect clue, thank you. Succinct but effective :)
:D
I had to think about it a while, but all things chemical are not my forte. And I prefer clues that make me think to ones that just spell out the word. Thanks.
Name that Proper Noun: vet
Herriot
Very Excellent! You win a spring lamb!
Cool, I will change my name to Mary
My paternal grandmother's name was Mary Lamb :-)
Herriot, chose this pen name after watching the Scottish/ Birmingham City goalkeeper, Jim Herriot.
Interesting!
The "Sky is falling!" chick is in the grid today...
so herky is not a word - enable has clearly never seen me dance
lol
morning alll, early start for me today...hope your Tuesday is off to a good start
Morning, mool.
hey bzz
Good morning moo and bea
good morning sukee
Good morning, sukee. Hope you are well today.
Doing well, it's a nice sunny day, but cold. Great view from my window :)
yes, it's about -12C here
We are a little warmer :) 30F.
oh, positively balmy :)
:)
These Ks are killing me
Think Mr. Kringle
k's are often amongst the toughest consonants
TY, got 2 :)
Wow, big storm damage in my sister's area of North Carolina. She is on day two of no power.
What area is she in, Molly?
Near Asheville
We had a bad day here in CT. Our internet, tv went out
We had horrible storms here yesterday. I was surprised there was not more damage/power outages.
bichon, I have a daughter in Norwich, Ct, are you close?
Not really, but there was heavy rains and high winds all day all over the state
Glad you are alright.
ty gapeach. We've been through much worse
We had it bad here Sunday night into Monday morning.
It's too bad Covid ruined Easter services
Yes, it is.
Wow, financial experts recommend that you keep six months worth of "living expenses" in an emergency savings account. I'm willing to be most people don't.
hi all. would love a clue for the u word. ty
It's a great idea, but most people don't have enough income or savings to do that
un5.14
without writing
et 6/27, pls
think chemistry bichon
se6,27?
ty mixi
hi, everyone
hi welki
Hi, welki.
se6 is Japanese verse
hi welki
Good morning, welki.
Bea, the only Japanese verse is Haiku
Afternoon all....can someone please remind me how to add my words to the list?
There is another form similar, bichon.
se6 is similar to haiku.
ty. fw
could someone give me a clue. I googled it, but no luck
uses sometimes vowel and last vowel at the end of the word.
the start of the word is rather like the he5.16 (king who got through quite a few wives), bichon.
does the y end the word?
no
AM I INVISIBLE, OR ARE YOU ALL JUST DOWNRIGHT RUDE!!!
No, WE areen't RUDE. wE ARE BUSY.
I'm sorry, Flask. I do not know the anser to your question as I use expert.
ty Jacula, Bea
BUT NOT TOO BUSY TO CLUE EACH OTHER GAPEACH!!
Hi Flask. I didn't see you there. You just press enter to add a word to your list on here.
Or click on the Add Word box and press the Add button.
Hi Jacula....I mean to add words to lickety's page please....
Ah, I haven't done that in a while. I think you just type the word in on there.
Thanks Jacula.....is there anyone here knows????
I've just had a quick look for you and you type the word in the add word box at the top.
There's a number of ways of doing it. In the top box, add the word and hit return - if it's a word, it'll disappear from the top box and appear like magic in the correct place. If it isn't, it'll just stay there, like a wasp investigating your beer
You can also enter the word directly into the (hopefully) correct space in the list, but you won't know if you're right or not.
Lol matty - that last bit about the wasp made me smile.
Or you can copy the entire word list from Babble (the words you've found) and paste it into the first big box at the bottom (don't worry about the extra bits like the scores - Lickety will take care of that for you)
Thankyou very much Matty...also to you too Jacula...
Perfect, matty. Thank you.
y/w Flask.
And hey, it's a stressful time for everyone - we're all here but many are just dealing with the puzzle or with people they know (either online, here or elsewhere). I don't always get answers either. These are crazy, crazy times! How are you coping, Flask?
Well, I'm here on and off ;)
I'm off, too. I'll be back for my final 30 later. Bye all.
Matty, I fully understand what you're saying, however, over the years, I seem to have a prime target for this type of treatment, and believe me, it hurts! Sadly, it usually always the same players.....how am I coping with covid.....well I am virtually bed-bound anyway, and my son is my main carer....so we're hanging in there.....as I hope you are....:)
Bye Jacula!
dhyne
just getting here and wanted to add, if you don't know where your cursor is on lickety's page, just hit enter and it will put it in the box then you can type the word
Morning, Carla.
morning, bea. I don't like this grid already.
Thankyou Carla
There are no A's
good point
Buzzn...I saw you message...thankyou!
I'm on a Mac, so can't use Expert so I'm pretty good with Lickety (when I can be bothered)
You are welcome, flask
same
When I first started playing, I HAD to finish every grid. It became more of a chore than a pleasure, so I stopped all together. Now, sometimes I finish, sometimes I don't and I enjoy it all the more for it :)
I do as many as I can, then open lickety and do bulk add, then after that any I get I enter in the box at the top.
fw
matty, I was the same way years ago and it got too much and I just quit altogether. then came back after about 5 years off and now I don't have to finish. I like to, but can still go to bed without
Congrats, peach.
It sounds like we are similar, Carla
I'm the same Matty....used torture myself trying to finish them, years ago.....now sometimes I can go for months and not play at all....now I too enjoy it much more....
I've hit a wall now, though, with 35 left. I may...or may not list :)
:D we both use the internet acronyms too ;)
I think there is a lesson to be learned here....maybe...lol
I still have 100 left! working on the lower s, no idea how there are that many.
Everyone's different and everyone plays differently. I try not to let people's quirks annoy me because I'm fully aware I have many irritating quirks of my own
(present company excluded, of course ;) )
of course :D
lol....good!
hello
Hello MLFAN...
hello flask!
how are you??
i don't have any irritating habits .. personally
well.. maybe just punning
Surviving like the rest of us how about you?
Same here.....looking forward to it being all over...
amen to that one Flask
I'm ok. I was planning on going to Australia in May as my daughter, who lives in Melbourne, is expecting a daughter (my first grandchild) on 5 May but alas...
ugh, that stinks matty. sorry.
I'm sorry, Matty. That's tough.
s'ok. She's healthy, I'm healthy so things could be worse x
Thats a shame Matty!....
matty, sorry to hear that
but congrats on your first grandchild!
I'm tentatively hoping to go in November, which at least has the advantage of being the Australian late spring, rather than practically winter
However, just think of the beautiful bundle that you will have to spoil soon....and all the yummy photos
may I have a clue for the un word pls?
not write
just found the sewing case, bea!
I did find it today.
well, that's weird. how can you un_ something
top row finished! ;)
stupid word
I did find a yiddish word today so I got that going for me
Yes, it took me a bit to find that one...
does anyone have the et 6/7?
Oooh - what does the Yiddish word start with, please (if I had to guess, I'd go with sh, but I could be wrong)
Found it
yep, sh5/6, but I think it usually has a c in there
lickety's site isn't working?
et6 is chemically and the 7 is plural
It's actually I word I use (I'm from New York originally)
it is for me
It's working for me
don't know ru
just clicked and it never loaded
eek!
not working for me
Try the ever popular hard refresh?
chemically what?
Think alcohol, MLF
maybe it's down now and the people that already had it open should not refresh or they'll lose it
Chemistry word.
I got it

dy 5/16
(there's two of them)
matty uggh

Yep. A 5/16 combo in between the 4/5 combo

Add a cons to the end, Carla.

i may not need it.. i'm almost done
not quite ready to use the list, but I am getting close. I have a feeling there are a LOT of weird ones today.

Carla, here is a story about the train as well as six other wonders of NC. https://tinyurl.com/w6xpr22
clur for the ir 6 please?

in6...to put a coin in a slot
bea, have heard of land of oz and the giant is all over the country. there's actually a website that tracks the remaining muffler men. have not heard of the others so will try to read later. also they forgot the road to nowhere
There is an in7 from that one, nan.

still have 7 h's but I can't figure out where the other 5 s's from the 2nd row are
spelunker
am with mlf.. whatever hits my fancy is fine for b-fast
lol, ruru. right?
It's only tradition that dictates what we eat for breakfast, really. The Japanese love themselves some rice with veg for breakfast - no sillier than cereal with fruit, really
I mean, it is 5 o'clock somewhere..
Me, I rarely have breakfast at all, so crack on, I say
I do like cold leftover chicken nuggets for breakfast.
i hope you're washing it down with a nice Vermentino ALoy
If that were the case, Alo, I'd be having gin for breakfast ;)
(I don't, just for clarity)
I do have just coffee a lot or with something small
(gives bea a side glance)
I got my last 4 H's for fw.
found 2 s's at least
well done, bea. were they weird?
have to look that one up, ru.. Seattle's Best #5 instead
I HATE THESE Hs!! ;)
my brother used to eat cold pizza for breakfast UGH
Of course they were weird.
thought so
I can eat pizza for breakfast
They are the same words, just different spellings.
I'm going to this list. obviously not my day here.
There's an hi7?!
see? the truth comes out, lol .. C'mon ru, what is the weirdest b-fast you have enjoyed?
I hope there are a lot of h 4's -- need 12 h's still
and it's not hirsute
Ha!
Close though, Carla...
i haven't aloy.. i am easing my stomach into the day in the morning :D
Oooh, is it colse?
close, even
Yes, matty
close...ish ;)
first four letters...
Yep, monkeyed it. Gah, these last 17 words are a trial
well, there is chorizo in this to wake up my taste buds
hi 6-7 : h +body of land surrounded by water with an extra consonant thrown in
Bleedin' heck there are two hi7s. GAH
There are 4 like that, matty.

Dasvidaniya, ya'll!

se6 is a japanese form of verse.
ty carla
that is a h word?
No, it is not an H word.
the one she said was se6? why would it be h?
Similar though
I googled it and that's the one I know is all)
Did you get it, Carla.
does it end like the ha 5 japanese verse?
am trying to make it end like haiku but no luck yet
that's what I was trying cyber
Yes, it ends with that vowel.
Also uses the sometimes vowel
snap, carla
at the end
Thank you Bea, the Russian made me laugh.

=)
So are the current what I had for breakfast posts. Sorry but I can't eat dinner at 7 in the morning.

I think I'll have yogurt with pineapple & granola added.
can't believe I missed the hobbit words
hobbit words? does that mean they are not real words?
no, it means they are words in the hobbit. where the hobbits live.
They are also Brit words, Nan
so they are fictional as in not real -- have no idea
which is why they are in the hobbit, he was british
no, they are real in england I think. we just don't use them here that I've noticed.

oops I guess that wasn't csn my bad
I haent figured out the th words yet either
Hokie, did you make it ok thru the storms?

good thing the band Kansas wasn't Jewish :D
i enjoyed my meal today, i find it to be comforting
yeah, we didn't lose power or anything. a few big branches in the yard.

Basically the same. Moving about causes coughing. Even doing this puzzle sometimes causes me to feel light headed, but still without fever. I am doing better than some of my co-workers.

if you have renters' insurance, it may cover the loss of your food - might not be worth the potential bump in premium, though
I don't have renters insurance
tough grid for me
i don't know about you folks, but i have to ease up on myself here a bit while i'm 'isolated' - i have to stop feeling guilty if every moment of every day isn't devoted to cleaning, fixing or cooking
67 left
me too welki but I need to get to laundromat very soon, probably tomorrow
yep
i feel guilty because my husband goes to work (and i don't), because some of my kids are front line health workers during this shitstorm, because for the time being, we're doing okay while so many are not .... yesterday was my birthday and it was the crappiest day ever
i am actually enjoying cleaning etc. been a bit neglectful over the winter.
sorrt. a belated wish for a big celebration when this is over.
sorry you had a crappy birthday but belated birthday greetings from me
okay, i'm exaggerating. it was not 'the crappiest day ever,' but it sure wasn't a good one
looking forward to nice weather next week to take all the curtains down & wash them.
found antibacterial spic & span spray at the dollar store- score!
if the weather warms up, i want to wash down the porch and furniture on it so i can spend some time there - and the back deck, too
but shopping was god awful today. took hours
people are just oblivious.
now all i have to do is start the 2 week countdown again. i'd rather eat spaghetti every day than go back out there.
(but it's supposed to snow again tomorrow) and shopping - ugh. i have to pick some stuff up tomorrow, a scheduled pick-up, so shouldn't be too bad (except i have to do it after i drop my car off to have winter tires removed - figures! *lol*)
hate I missed you yesterday on your birthday! it was the worst, I know.
we've been finishing off some leftovers before the next cooking frenzy begins
that pick up service is nice. i wouldn't mind being a shopper, but i won't take a job away from someone who really needs it.
we may have flurries tomorrow.
thanks hokie - you know, yours was last week. all birthdays should be rescheduled.
yep, but to when!
i think by mid ay we'll ease up. but i'll still be hesitant to go anywhere there's a crowd.
i am so thankful we have our dog - she's the reason i get the coat on and get out of the house
wondering how out musikfest will fare. it's hard to keep sanitary there and we'll still have to.
calgary music festivals are all in holding patterns, too - everything is.
jue festivals: one cancelled, one moved to thrid week in August. even if they lift the ban, i don't think i'll rush back to dance.
thank you, ladies - this 'unloading' has helped
I feel for you up north. has been nice getting out here in nice weather. can't imagine being stuck inside.
I'm not sure when I'll feel comfy going back in public.
yes, spring weather does help.
def want to get the antibody test whenever it's available
i'm not in any rush to be near any crowds - gives me the willies walking past folks on the paths here
i despair that it will be. think how many are needed, because the results would be subject to change daily
here, it's fairly simple to get tested now, if you are high risk or have any of the 'common' symptoms. me, i'm not that interested in being tested 'just because,' but would like the antibody test, too
sneed 30 and still lacking 7 7s
they have like drive through testing here. I don't think it's that easy to get one and apparently the state ones are taking 10 days for results, which just seems pointless, but my dr/hospital system has their own lab and results are much faster
my county is purusing getting the instant test machine can do 4 per hour.
and they are moving to self testing, which reduces the PPE needed.
you take care, i'm going to pick up the ol' guitar for a little while and scare the dog with my voice :)
bye, welk

How are you doing jane?

what about you?
Hanging in there, jane. Going a little stir crazy. I live alone and it's not easy right now :D
stats for the right hand i please?
I am glad I have someone to talk to ! I am also glad that I don't have a seriously essential job, and that I can get along without working financially, for a while.
I am working from home. But since I only work 20 hrs a week, that still leaves a lot of alone time. It is nice to chat with people. And play WWF with you :-)
Dinner is done and bread is done baking. I'll see you later.
Oooh, bread. THAT's what I have to start tomorrow.
wow, wish I had an oven. Soon. *rubs poor overwashed dry itchy hands together in glee*
i did Navajo flatbread today. was a first time doing this particular item. i think i can do better another time.
you don't need an oven for it, you put it on a griddle or pan
