a babblet, probably never used in speech
there will be a lot of words you've never heard of if you play babble!! I sometimes think they make them up!!

One is a plural The other is a group of rooms in a hotel.
I have those - do you have the other/ LOL
I only have two su5's

*Waves at Bea
Hello, Molly.
Clue for ga7?
Most ga4
Hard to believe that's a word!
Tx!
I'm off to water...See you tomorrow.
Byeeee
good morning and thank you for the clues -- nothing like your first 3 words being 8's!
how do you guys tolerate all that humidity ugh
we don’t
we are conditioned to it........AIR conditioned that is!!! (HH rolls on the floor laughing)
“only†66% humidity right now 82F, feels like 87
but its also still morning and feels super awful already
78% here. Nice breeze though.
i guess i should feel lucky.. it's cool with a light ocean breeze
don’t worry, it will be hotter there soon enough, champ
We have a pool...all good in the 'hood!
did you have rain from the hurricane?
83 here..77% humidity
oooh i found the last 8
Not here...it was way South...on the border of Mexico.
I should spank myself for not seeing it sooner
it was my last one too. Felt stupid!
47 to go here.
33 left here. we are driving up to Boone,NC, to check out the area for possibly moving to. will be a lot cooler there in higher elev.
I have a lot of clients moving there lately. How exciting!
i did not get the co8 clue from earlier. should this word stick out to me?
Yes. Go up to the right and down...
literally :D
champ, we have been all over trying to figure out where to go. youngest is a senior this year.
duh, thanks. always overlook that tile in the middle of words.
I have one couple that went to Raleigh, and the other went to Wilmington. Both had family in the area.
I'm looking at moving to Port Townsend Washington myself
hello
good morning mlf
we were looking at lake tahoe but decided we should stay in nc until kids are graduated college.
good morning ruru
That looks lovely, ruru!
howdy, mlfan
lotta snow there hokie
howdy hokie
hokie that area is in the mountains isnt it?
and California Taxes are brutal
mr. homie wants to live somewhere he can ski all winter at least one year of his life. and we are only looking at NV due to taxes.
good idea .. nevada / tahoe makes more sense
i like snow, brutal cold not so much. i guess i would get used to dressing properly.
i won't retire in any state that taxes SSI
It would be nice to live somewhere for a year and give it a try. Why not? It'll go by quicker than you think, I imagine.
If I could go anywhere I think around Santa Fe would be the best
well if i could live anywhere.. it'd be qualicum in BC
from what i’ve heard, weather wise i’d love san diego
last column a stats pls?
have only been to vancouver and whistler in bc. both beautiful.
I took a hike up to a glacial lake on the way to whistler. unreal
ae4, au5/6
ty hokie
coming up for air -- I already live in God's country -- wouldn't want to live anywhere else :)
san diego is nice hokie... great city
it is a little cold there, nan
too $$$$$$, ru
why couldn't my mom have married a canadian
a friend lives in la jolla - it's really perfect temperatures all year.
i married a West Virginian
Is that the title of your autobiography mlf?
Sounds like a miniseries starring Cheryl Ladd
nah -- we only get below freezing temperatures during the day for one month a year and even then rarely below 15F
that calgary border patrol agent was sweating me hard when we went to banff. made me really nervous. lol
it could be but no one would buy it lol
2nd column t is that a th word/
If anything, right now, it i too hot -- 8 am and already 91F on our back patio
yes mlf
(and no)
when was this hokie?
greek letters and a babblet
40!
all the border people in canada have always been nice to me
Harry can i get a clue pls?
mar or april 2019
it's a greek letter used to denote the measure of an angle
mlfan, I just clued
were you flying in?
haha got it
nbt
yes, flew to calgary and then stayed in canmore
I got hassled by the canadian border police when driving to toronto for a grateful dead concert. Not a big shock there.
I would totally retire to canmore if there weren’t grizzlies roaming through town on the regular
beautiful town
and once on a road trip we were interrogated on the way into canada since they were afraid we didn't have enough money and would become leeches.
lol, I mean deadheads can be
I spent a day in a town in northern ontario called Swastika. stress on the second sylabble
syllable
yes - Canmore is a pretty town. If you like it there you would also like Kimberlely
Where is that, nan?
We've never been given a hard time -- even when we were hauling a bunch of fixtures back for our new house. Can't say the same about going into the states however -- have been hassled a few times by border agents feeling their authority. Guess it works both ways.
By the way, we did not really like the town of banff - too busy
Kimberly is a moutain village in the Kootenays -- lots of ski resorts around (Nancy Greene country)
US agents have always been tougher on me than canadian agents. and mexican agents - though they have asked for random "payments"
I don’t know the Kootenays or Nancy Greene, is that in BC or Alberta?
Banff is always croweded -- has become too weel known on the tourist circuit. That's the worst thing about were we live -- crawling with tourists all summer. At least this year that is somewhat reduced.
Border police are always harsher on the non-natives than they are on the native citizens.
Have been to mex a couple of times, once was on a cruise though, so don’t rem dealing with bp. Also don’t rem the time we flew there, so it must not have been bad.
i've gone to bc a dozen times in the last 8 years and never had a problem
FW! Last words were sh's...new to me.
In the BC southern interior. Nancy Green was the olympic gold medalist in either slalom or downhill not sure which for a couple of the games.
Enjoy, everyone! See you tomorrow.
I think I've shared the Gabriola Island complaint choir here before
bye champ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeO-K_\nqI2w8
i suspect the only time you get hassled in either direction is when you don't have any reservations for a place to stay and you don't have any concrete travel plans.
nan - that's me in a nutshell through my twenties.
Ok, it appears she was way before my time. Just like nan doesn’t get pop culture ref, I don’t get canadian athletes who competed before I was born. ;)
Adios, champ
Well, we did have a concrete res in canmore, which I’m sure we told him. Also, just a family of 4 on spring break vacation and he kept saying, why are you here??

Tx for co7
No sc Hursh
mk thanks
funnily enough, hurshy, not the one I expected. One of my goats has horns that were not debudded correctly. The resulting stubby horns are called "scurs" -- but enable has no truck with that
yeah i think my monkeys tried that, though i didn't know about the horns thing
Ooooh and my Atmospheric and Oceanic Science (aka Weather 101) professor was from Boston. Every class started with Professor "Maht'n" checking the "radah."
LOL that is hilarious
how come a vessel can be seagoing but you can't seago?
the world is unfair, hurshy
sorry to be the one to burst your bubble
a truer word ne'er was spoken
you are a wise man, monsieur hood
LOL
my patience has reached its end. 25 to go, I must depart. will bbl to list. stay cool everybody
HAGD Harry
bye
my cat opie is so self-defeating
he loves people, and he loves petting, but he gets SO EXCITED by petting, esp from people other than me, that he rolls himself around on the ground in a frenzied way, making it hard to pet him, and then he bites people out of excitement and joy. so then people do not want to pet him.
Any one prepared to give the co8 with an idiot clue please!
hmmm. there should be a way to approach that....
Third letter?
The clue for co7 at 10:55 is pretty clear
an earlier clue for the co8 was invasion and control over
Co8 uses the high-point tile Alleyn. Regular word.
i have qu4 that goes with "mire", and its plural, and i have a purposeful journey. any guidance for the other two Q?
qu6/7 edible clam
well now i have to hit myself with this fish that i found next to those Qs! thanks peri
qu + vowel + swine
qu + one big pig
Didn't have those. Thanks Trif
my, aren't the F words Fun today! lol
SUCH a boston thing, oh my GAWD
Got the Qu s
"Gretchen, stop trying to make Fe5 happen!" -- all I hear now
i feel like i have to turn in my new englander membership card for not getting those Qs myself lol
what is the boston word? the qu? or what?
nah, girl, you are good. We don
don't kick people out
So are you telling me to put the co before the pig word?
yes, the qu 6/7 mkg, clued below
no no no allyen - unrelated
Ah - so clearly on the totally wrong track!!!
you are okay, we all do it
I have the co4, 7 - are those the first three letters of the 7 and 8?
no
Hot the 8 - so damn obvious! so just the co7 to go
nope
no... 8 starts with not pro, 7 starts with anagram of the top boss of a company
co7 is a web page for CO's
ok cool got those, still 6 more C though :P
Given up on the co7!
co + vowel + what you do in a chair + vowel
sh 6-7 please?
ooh those are my missing S words
Thank you - never heard of that word
mine too hurshy, lol
sh 6/7 start with not he, end with the last three of what you say when you get hurt (starts with O)
yikes, thanks molly. must be hebrew origin?
ty molly - another new one
certainly not english, I think
SCOTTISH - again! lol
phantoms: glitch, guru, guise
as 5/14 please?
I'm surprised we aren't all wearing kilts and saying "hoot man"
what's left after the fire, cnan
thats for owls to say, not scots. scots are not owls
as + almost all of the word that means swear
oops i clued the wrong one
:D
do scots only say "hoots"? not "hoot"?
*Passes Hurshy the haggis
i like many things about the scots... but haggis is not one of them lol
ty molly
only non-scots think scots say hoot or hoots
well how did they get that idea?
veggie haggis is delicious
VEGGIE HAGGIS?
that's amazing
its AMAZING
i have left 4 C, 3 G, 2 H, and 1 R
is veggie haggis still haggis if it is cooked in the lining of a sheep's stomach?
or is it still vegetarian?
its not really haggis, it doesnt go near sheep stomachs. Its oats and veggies and yumminess
why would one even bother calling it haggis tho?
must admit that if I had to eat haggis, I would rather the veggie version than animal entrails
me too
ok, if you take the S off those scottish words you get H words, those were my missing Hs
why call anything veggie sausages or veggie ham or or or :)
ch 6-7 please?
the fastest land animal minus one e
hi again - back from breakfast - ty hurshy
first ga 6 please?
the first one I have is a plural
Hiyas, kiddos. The only ga6 I have is ga6/27 - large cuts.
that's the one I need -- trying to think of a cat that begins with ga
oh - large cuts, lol - that is the one I have too
GA6/27: Petrol + opp. of pro.
also looking for the first ho 5/16 -- have the heroes leader
ty judi
thought that would have been a proper noun
Ho5,16 is a magic term, ho5 pocus
I haven't listed so I don't know if that's the first.
ty FT -- that does it for me - thanks for the help everyone and hagd. Stay safe :)
yw
Clue for the Co8, please?
victory in war, Judi
Ty, Sam.
I'm out. See y'all tomorrow.
54 left and stuck
right column grayed!
Qu7?
A New England name for clams. Ends in large swine.
Tx!!
isn't that also the name of the town in Family Guy? my kids watch that all the time. I didn't know that's what it meant.
Not sure. Don't watch Family Guy.
per an internet search, yes, fictional town in RI
firewords! thanks Molly and lickety and all cluers
I was able to play that qu7 word in Words with Friends the other day.
noice
If you want to scream in horror, Google "geoduck clams" and look at the images.
Oh, yuck.
Looks like a giant elephant dick.
Just remember to pronounce it "gooeyduck" ;-)
Seafood phalluses
I'll take your word on that, French :D
At one point, they got crazy expensive because so many were being exported to Asia as virility aids.
Oh that is so sad.
I didn't really miss 'em, myself. Though they do make a mean chowder.
The fishmongers at the Pike Place Market in Seattle have to keep them in the case closest to the aisles so that tourists can snap photos without interrupting fish sales.
Hope tourists have wide-angle lens HAAAAAAAAAA
And, for a possibly NSFW photo, google Evergreen State College Mascot...
And really, what do you do with a picture like that? Send it to friends and family?
I suppose it is the same impulse that causes people to steal the entering the city sign at Intercourse PA. I believe alcohol may be involved.
LOL OMG that mascot was voted #1 worst college mascot, according to that website
The university I attended has a banana slug for a mascot
that'll be a california school then
UC Santa Cruz??
Yes, UC Santa Cruz.
I would think about stealing a sign that said YOU ARE ENTERING INTERCOURSE
I have a fridge magnet from there that says I <3 Intercourse
I think it actually reads "Welcome to Intercourse." But your point remains!
<3 is heart
It's one of those towns that has Amish people riding around in horse & buggies
i took students on a field trip to a place where we hiked in woods and saw banana slugs. our guide told the students they could kiss the banana slugs if they wanted. one of the girls who declined, for some reason, some of the other kids were pressuring her to do it, but she kept refusing. so after a bit i stepped in and said, great job, (student), resisting peer pressure! keep it up!
Kissing banana slugs is a gateway to larger molllusks - next up qu7
lol
Just don't graduate to kissing geoducks--people have gone to jail for less.
<------ imagines a whole subculture of people who get their jollies kissing geoducks
Goodness, I can't believe we haven't been scolded by now : D
Ah...off to more Zoom meetings. I'll have to miss any more MolluskTalk now...
Geoducks are amorphous actually they are bivalves
Sorry. I didn’t mean for everyone to clam up
If you have a young bivalve trying to mate with a geoduck. Would that be clam digging?
Older geoduck that is
Are you trying to muscle in on our mollusk conversation, ru?
*mussle, rather - darn auto correct
drats - mussel. I give up :D
😜
Just limpet-ly trying to add to it
It warms the cockles of my heart to have you join in.
When mussels have dry skin the use oysterizers
:D
They
Too bad periwinkle isn't around to contribute.
When mussels have affairs the Ocean plays “your chiton heartâ€
Kissing geoducks sounds like a bunch of abalone to me
Rolling on the floor crying out "Make it stop! MAKE IT STOP!"
Shellshocked?
and laughing? or no...
We'll have to find another way to octopi our time.
good one, ori... ;o)
That is a tentacular come back ori
Douglas might need a little kelp
Be it far from me to shrimp away from my responsibilities
ahhh-baloney
Douglas might be crabby today
steamered, even
Did he leave ? Or take a chowder?
Trying to think of an aquatic comeback, without success.
he scalloped away
Going to waste time playing freecell
Maybe making himself a cup of pearl grey.
Whelk. Goodbye for now them
Tgen
Then
<-- ashamed she piss-clammed away her opportunity to change name to whelki
ru, you are as sharp as a razor-clam. and i'm off to have a non-ocean supper
Well enjoy
Hope I can shellebrate fireworks here today.

hi lyn
hi Owl! how have you been keeping?
meh. it's beastly hot and humid
humid you can keep
have you finished?
no...I usually leave a fair amount for the morning - which I am finishing off now
coque
oops
tried that myself about 4 times
how are you today?
physically - so-so.....mentally - pretty flat. We are doing another lockdown/restrictive movement for 6 weeks and it's hard not seeing familky and friends
that
that
that's tough. it's hard emough without a lockdown.
Good morning all
i just had some dinner and it made me sick. that or the oatmeal cookies. yuck.
hi liz
hi Liz
Hi TO. Hi Lyn - tough down there for you all in Vic :( They're talking here about totally closing our state borders again.
that
i hope not. this thing is just awful.
I suppose it is good to over-react. My brother and partner left before all the border closures and are luxuriating way up North
i cannot imagine going into fall and winter with restrictions.
I'd actually be in favour of it, TO. Victoria is being hit again, as are some parts of New South Wales. However the rest of Australia isn't doing too badly at all. If it stops it spreading further, that's a good thing, even with the difficulties it poses.
yes
I agree - go to stop it somehow and if you don't jump on it fast, it gets away
there were protests here and now it's spreading among younger ages like wildfire
Sadly it's unlikely I'll get to either of the 2 family weddings that are scheduled for next year - my nephew in the UK and my cousin in Canada but if it stops the spread, I'd have to live with the disappointment.
that's sad, liz
My nephew's was already postponed from this May.
I hope for my nephew and cousin that their weddings are able to go ahead though.
my neighbor's daughter postponed hers. the venue told her they would use disposable service.
I don't blame her - but it's very tough though.
I can't see an end to this in the near future.
ditto.
fe 6/7 - the first pair, please
a grass - rhymes with what SES or life-savers do
Thanks, Lyn
there is an se5?
The life-safer part of the clue helped there.
no Owl
i must need stronger glasses...
ses - State Emergency Services
oh, okay
Fireworks - my last word sh 5 - a plural :(
yay!
i need 8
congrats Liz
Thanks. Any particular 8?
idk. no list here yet
co 8 - to defeat in war. contains high value letter
I'm done too - off for late breakfast. Enjoy your day/night
Thanks for the clues in the chat. Some odd words today. Have a good day / evening everyone.
liz, sorry, i meant i need 8 mmore words. they are random. ty for helpoing
Congrats, Lyn
bye liz
Oh! Sorry. Well, congrats in advance. Gotta go.
ah, the sun has gone down and it's finally cooling off in here below 80
i woke up sick and it appears i will go to bed sick. hoping tomorrow is better.
still 84 here.
hope tomorrow is better for you TO
Ba-dum, Ba-dum! Though his mind is not for rent Ba-dum, Ba-dum! Don't put him down as arrogant
I take it you got fireworks, Douglas?
If so, Congratulations!
Alas, no! I had a poor Babble day, but I thought I could clue ru4/6
did you get the ru5/16 + pl?
Working on it...
Looking up to see what it is...
I think I'll come back at the flip and try again.
Good Night. (My hubby fell & I've been trying to get him up since my last post; finally did it though.)
