nasty snake, ma5 was my last.
hi lickety, could you send me the link for clues please?
it's at the bottom of this page, pink
i know you have those clues, joym99 lickety used to be able to email you the program/link that was specifically for the game ... its been so long i dont remember all the details
do you maybe mean Babble Expert? I've never used it, so not sure.
yes rbud, that's the one!
but I know some folks have a link for it in their profiles and it does something... I wonder who to look for, hmmm. Anyone here know?
stumped by the ba 5 -- any cluese please?
a sheep noise, nan
pt
Ahh, it's in Sprite's profile. says: The Babble Expert can be downloaded here: http://tinyurl.com/asayuk8 or here: http://r46.me/BabbleExpert201104\n10.zip
rbud, bless you, thanks!
oh, that darn \n thing... last part is supposed to be BabbleExpert20110410.zip
you're welcome. :)
cyberman, a bleat
unfortunately rbud both links have 404 error, page not found. I'll email Lickety and see if he still has the link, but thank yooouuu
http://r46.me/BabbleClues.html
ty dofith *!*~*!*
on my way -- stay safe everyone
Summer, that's the regular list - they are wanting Babble Expert - I guess it lets you put words in both lists at once or something? I forget, I never used it, but heard people talk about it all the time. I wonder if it is discontinued? Anyone know?
Summerbreeze, it was babble expert i was after specifically, but thanks
http://r46.me/BabbleExpert20110410.zip worked for me
rbud now the link you gave wants to work... gotta love technology!!!
Thank you for setting me straight, rbud :)
I've got everything except the CA6s
I have no way to troubleshoot it, browsing "as a guest" on a borrowed laptop, won't let you download a lot of things. Glad it worked.
That used to frustrate me when i'd do the same thing, it certainly makes life easier when playing
Got 'em! Surprisingly painful for such a small grid.
ca/ 6 / 30
it has that spelling and another.

48 words!
hi all. it is snowing here again. blegh
Hi, anyone got a clue for the last 6/30 ? Stuck on last word !
hi all
NM, got it !!
Good morning je!
Champ. . . how are you fairing? you obviously have electricity since you are on the chog
faring?
Yes. At Mom's, as she has a huge generator. We both have power right now, but there are rolling blackouts to allow everyone access to the grid. One more night of hard freeze tonight.
I just didn't want to wake up to no power again in the night, so stayed at her place.
I understand. My sister in Galveston stayed at a hotel with a generator until its pipes burst.
My friends in the Heights seem to be exactly alternative having electricity. I have been writing friends about how to hunker down safely.
My youngest lives in Galveston, and has been without power since Monday. She stayed with a lot of friends in an apartment on the same grid as the hospital, but managed to get to me yesterday safely. Bro and sis-in-law from the Heights have been here since Monday. Same thing...intermittent power. And Houston proper is under a boil water notice.
and with electric stoves as so many have. . . .
Let's have a round of applause for deregulation
Both of our houses have gas stoves and fireplaces, thankfully. Also, limited options for food, as stores are without power.
We've got ice, we've got sleet, we've got snow. And still there are idiots out on the road.
But we have insulation Molls.
I am rescheduling my jab from tomorrow.
Insulation?
folks down in Texas rarely have insultation
Yeah but I couldn't figure out what that had to do with road conditions. It is beyond me why non-essential people get out and drive in this crap.
insulation. that is why this icy cold is so hard on them. . . and the fa** that their power is unregulated since the mid20th century
Don't look at me. Even though my car is built to drive in this crap, I am not.
Idiots!!! Yesterday when electricity was out in huge swaths, people were running lights that were clearly just out due to lack of power. Morons!
I have a friend who is a police officer. And when he responds to accidents in weather like this and asks "Where were you headed?" These are the answers he gets...Dunkin Donuts...McDonalds...oh nowhere, we were just out for a drive in the snow.
And folks in Texas are more clueless than people up here as to how to drive in ice and snow.
Although, to be fair, a lot of Northerners have move down there.
ah found the 7.
hello all.
hi harry
hi jmc hi molly
was so close to graying the top row
missing 2 H

Not to used to chatting anymore. have to remember to move the cursor again. ;)
:) well I scrubbed down the PB a few days ago so it should be fine
Well, that is good at least. I will make some brekkies while I am in there.
I take my coffee black
And I like my eggs scrambled.
okay, a little hung up on the 2nd A
Me too.
no help here
Have you been sewing, Carla?
Let's see: eggs scrambled with 5 year old Quebec apple wood smoked cheddar shaved on tip, maple and hickory bacon, brown sugar-infused breakfast sausages, hash browns with diced peppers and sweet onions, Texas toast, and a nice jar of homemade strawberry jam, and a tall, frosty glass of no pulp orange juice to wash it all down.
Yes, please.
no, not lately. we got our kitchen cabinets painted so I've been busy with moving stuff back and forth and cleaning up and hiding upstairs while they were here, etc.
but I did get a quilt sandwich made in the upstairs hall
just coffe for me, Crossy although that looks good
Bet your kitchen looks nice.
I also have the binding ready to sew on 6 placemats
I've been making flannel receiving blankets and burp clothes.
it looks a lot better, but I still need to paint the walls.
I aspire to quilt but really doing the masks for the clinic takes as much skill as I can muster. I have at least three quilts in my head but no progress.
also would like to replace appliances but mr. homie not on board with that yet.
It is so nice to have a fresh kitchen hokie
O.K JMC, I have some Costa Rican mountain grown single-plantation coffee beans here. I will grind them up, and use my old 1955 fire King peculator to give them the justice they deserve. Meduim heat, and perk for 9 minutes to tease all the essential oils out of the beans.
j mc, I resolved to finish a quilt a month this year. only 10 days left in Feb!
I will patiently (sorta) wait Crossy
I got new lighting and faucet and cabinet hardware yesterday
I recovered all the chairs and we painted them and the table week before last, and while I love them, I'm afraid they are too cool. had to go with warm paint to match the existing granite.
Back in the day when I was a professional world saver, my second in command was a coffee aficionado and always brought in the best beans and made the coffee himself allowing me to live the feminist dream of saying: Bill, make me some coffee.
can't decide if I want to make new valances or do a cornice on the windows
I've never been a fan of cornices. Don't know why.
Ha! I got one of the second A words
do tell...
I got them both.
a counting device
well bea, some of them look really stuffy
I got ab5.20
was googling last night and some I was like, I would never do that
ab5/16
I need the 5.20 clue please!
2nd row gray!
thanks for the As
what weird word
ab + start of opp. of before
The 5.20 uses that middle tile.
Ab+plus most of what Huck Finn rode
champ. think of a direction on a ship
Thank you!!!

Thank you for the AB 5/20

Hi all. Any clues for the A in fourth column, fourth row? Thanks.
Yep, about 5 of them
hi mkg see below
oh sorry those were 4th column second row
Oooh. Am 6 i guess. I just dont know it at all.
Was the am 6 clued earlier? I dont see it below.
Haha took a punt and got the AM6 thank you again.
that am6 ends with what zoo animals are kept in.
am + what you put your groceries in + vowel
I have only just start3ed so all good.
ty Luv
Luv is correct. Sorry
Was getting ahaead of myself.
sift
Poo
I got it from your clue Bea. I just assumed you meant sounds like
Crossy's coffe should be ready in the PB zooz
You at work today, Molly?
Ty got it.
Nice! I'll take it.
speaking of the PB, the boys that wait on you in there are in the grid
I am also missing the B word if anyone has stats and clue, unless it is a 4. Then stats is enough.
And here I thought Zoom was a tea only man
don't have
ooooooooo ty luv.
Funny thing is I will drink tea here at home yet only drink coffee at parents.
ba 5/16 sound sheep made
Ok guys, i just cant believe i cant find the b word. Ugh. Need clues please or stat. I am sure it is ba but how many letters?
The b word was clued earlier...it's a 5/16
Ty
This could be a grid where every single word gets clued
I bought a dreadful jar of instant coffe yesterday at the store in case we lose power again today are tomorrow.
The ma 5 is weird. Thought it was a proper noun.
not quite but close
Well not seeing clue for ba 5.
probably a good plan Bzzn. It makes a decent mocha with instant cocoa
Oh dear God Bea, instant coffee is horrid. Get a coffee press.
well, just try to monkey it for a while, that's what I'm doing
see 8:14 mkg
Funny...I donated my coffee press on a recent "clean out the closet" day.
i got the 7!
I had it and didn't even notice!
wtg hursh!
That was one of the easier ones today, hursh.
at the copa, copa ca6 the hottest spot north of ha6
wish I had some bacan right now
anyone have the right-hand fourth row A word?
Clue for the B?
yes, we all do, hurshy ;)
8:14 Gadget
I found the clue. It is sheep sound. But that is baah which the grid wont take.........ba 5 is what i am struggling with. Gadget, that is what you need too.
no h, past tense
Pt of sheep sound.
Ok. Got it.
look at the clue and take it more exatly mkg
Hard to believe that is a real word.

Fireworks for me. Happy babbling everyone!

30% of my remaining are 4's
Italian bad men
That is a couple of Ms to get you going.
ty zooz
idk if i have the coat unless you mean the apple computers?
I don't think she was stuck, just hadn't gotten there. but I didn't have that one, so thanks.
(the mob)
Yes that is it, Hurshy. I like to meet people half way sometimes and hope they get where I am going with my clues.
lol
Ah okay sorry thren, Bea. I will go so not spoil everyones fun. Toodle pips.
but you should have said coatS
bye zooz! have a good one.
Today feels like a rice pudding day.
and every time you say toodle pips, I wonder if you are my uncle larry
toodle pip(s) is the best way to say goodbye, hands down
i really cannot see how there can be another H word
also missing one
Most of those H's are those Scotish words.
There is a 6
well i have 4 that have two vowels together in the middle
good to know Bzzn
I think everyone has a weird old Uncle Larry. Or knows someone like him.
and then i have a trio that go together
I wonder if Mr. Bea's neices and nephews say that about him.
oHO, ha + most of a trout
now that's odd, thanks
I don't know Bea. Does he tell the same joke over and over again? Tell the same stories over and over again? Speak to hear the sound of his own voice? If not, they probably don't.
uncle larry is like the king of "dad jokes". he thinks he's hilarious.
my dad does the first two of those
the weirdest thing any of my uncle's ever did was marry the same woman twice
Oh Uncle Larry's always think they are hilarious. They think they are clever too.
to list, or not to list, that is the question
I'm going to try to find my 3 4's before listing
How many do you have left?
8 left here
5
I am probably Uncle Larry but I don't tell jokes
isn't a toddler a myist?
Found the snake
yay a nice shot one
short
eww, a snake?
haft
well, it's short hoya, but not nice
oh well, at least i have time on this sleety day
If you change one letter in that toddler word, Carla, you will get another M word.
well, found one of my 4s
I think I have that, bea, thanks. if it's the 2nd letter that's changed.
hokie it's the one kobe bryant nicknamed himself for
Yes, it is Carla.
oh, finished the S. not sure how I couldn't see that pair.
4 left!
What letters do you have left?
oh, the snake, hurshy? I don't recall him nicknaming himself.
F (middle), C (4th col), and one from each M
The snake was Kobe's nickname
just googled, thanks
CArla, do you have the fi.8
phantom caftan
fi4.8
There are three sixes in that C.
geez, that was the F and it took me forever
am missing a 6, so probably
One is a lizard
mm, the Ma coat does not work--sad face...
I have the one that's a little croc
and the pool tent
Do you have the taxi driver?
of course not because those ridiculous arbitrary words never occur to me. thanks.

Thanks for asking though
anyone have a clue for the BA 5/16? It's my last one.
pt sheep sound
ty!
any clues before i leave?
I am missing one F in the first column I wouldn't mind a clue for
or stats anyway. I have the petard words
fe5?
ty hokie *looking*
there is a canadian singer named that. looks like noun form of a familiar adj.
she had one hit here that I know of, so probably obscure clue
haha obscure is fine
Ta!

Could I have the stats for the 2nd and 4th row a’s in the 4th column. Thanks
ab5/16, ab5/20, and ab6/33
Sorry, am6/33, not ab6/33
They're all a little weird
I’ve just monkeyed ab5/16!
Good going! The am6 is (was) apparently normally used in the plural, but it's archaic anyway.
Got the am6 as well.
Just the other ab to go
Congrats! I'm off now.
Thanks for your help
the last one sounds made up :)
What a weird word
ba 5/16 anyone, struggling even to monkey type it.
fife
what sheep did
oops
that was a clue for you sand
thanks, didn't think of doing the double vowel
yeah, it's not intuitive
actually, for a small board, there's a fair number of whacky words
really silly words
last one ca 6/30
yeah, like someone hired Lewis Carroll to write this one
a type of crocodilian sand
unless you didn't mean last ca 6/30
there's another one before that
no the first one
a taxi driver
cheers, fireworks
yay
congrats
still have one to go myself
Moo, can you describe the last ca 6/30 again please?
taxi driver....although an archaic form in some sense
... ca6/30 .... islands in the caribbean with big banking industry
oh sorry, yeah the last ca 6/30 is a crocodilian
... also ca6/30 .... taxi guy
I thought you meant the last one I clued
Duh, ty both dose and moo
can be easy to miss because that third letter
certainly not one I gravitate towards when looking for words
Absolutely. Three left!
apparently the islands were named after the animal
well gotta go...good luck to those still in gridlock
bye moo
Bye moo
1
I have never seen so many clues for such a small grid
Hi jmc. Good to see you here.
This one is troublesome
hi wht I have seen you in passing from time to time
well molls a lot of the words are weird
Usually I see you in the chat well after you have left. :^)
Thanks for asking about the Jack Molls but I am roughing it with wine
exactly wht
Yeah, but the are just a matter of random typing and jeeze there are only 48 words.
I really rarely resort to monkeys. I try to puzzle out the word.
Roughing it with wine would never be an option for me. I am not that fond of the stuff.
and since I am a terrible speller. . . .
I like wine and I have beer. so I am well enough off.
Bad spelling can be an advantage with this game.
hahaha sometimes it is wht
Beer, wine and Jack are all good ways to make sure you try all of the necessary random misspellings of common words.
haha
hot damn FW!
first time this year
*Squirts silly string at JMC
ack!
I'm glad my job provides me with the opportunity to spend some time here again.
*starts gathering up the silly string*
Is there anything creative to do with this stuff after it is out of the can?
Tx for the ca6 words!!
hi Une!
I'm sure if you do a Google search on "ways to reuse silly string" you will find all sorts of whacky stuff
haha good idea
FYI because it keeps coming up in other places today: Clarence Darrow (not Mark Twain) wrote in his autobiography : I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.
I can see how that quote might be coming up a lot right now, jmc.
nope, not anything . Just how to remove the stains it creates on clothing and why it is banned in so many cities. Who'd have thought.
Mark Twain said, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated"
Why would that quote be coming up a lot right now?
true true
because someone many people didn't like to listen to died yesterday.
Because of the death of a certain radio talk show host who was not universally loved.
I guess I just don't get the hatred
Same thing with Trump. I get not liking him, but the bitter venom spewed about him just seems to cast a lot of negativity out into the collective soul.
Well I don't wish people dead but I don't mourn their loss either.
and all of us except for possibly Mother Teresa throw some negativity out into the world. I just hope when I do I do it humorously.
Oh I agree that we all throw some negativity into the world. But there are certain people who seem to be professional Trump haters. Just obsessed with their hatred of the man.
I am no fan of Trump as you might have guessed, but I have better things to do than spend my time worrying about him. I am more worried about gerrymandering and voter suppression and systemic racism. Plenty to keep me amused in my cape.
Anyone at all interested in legal histories I would recommend reading Separate by Steve Luxenburg. Tells the history of Plessey, the case that created the concept of separate but "equal"
anyway I am off to do other things. My cape needs airing. The sidewalk needs salt. So much to do! Bye all!
Molly, I saw this quote yesterday. It might help you understand the reaction to Mr. Limbaugh. "I know it's tempting to lash out, but try to treat Rush Limbaugh with the same dignity, respect, and humanity as he showed to rape victims, Michael J. Fox, Sandra Fluke, Iraq War veterans, refugees, and the victims of mosque shootings."
Well put wht
Well, there are plenty of assholes in the world who say and do stupid, nasty things. I'm with JMC. I have better things to do than expending energy hating people like Limbaugh and Trump.
Enough political fireworks. I just got virtual fireworks.
You know it's over when Rush is a topic on Babble
ambana
oops!
amancage
Rush is dead Always say something good about the dead. He's dead....good!
Where do you think Trump got his script from? Yes, its Rush L.
cabana
Fw!!
See, when someone I politically despise dies, I feel sad for their family, and I move on. Crazy, I know.
after watching my dad go through Parkinsons I find him despicable
Despicable people are the ones I also despise. No argument there.
is it awful to hope that he suffered?
depending on what you believe about after life, he may be now
Hello - can someone please give me a clue for the ba 5?
yeah, it's kind of awful
ba5 = made a noise like a sheep
Ah, thanks, mrk

ha 4/8 ha 5/18 Handle of a weapon or tool & plural

jmcnrick - i've heard some not so positive things about Mother Teresa, actually. but as far as I know, Fred Rogers would be a good substitute if you want a possible exception to universal negativity. :)
i've heard a lot of negatives about Mother Teresa
I've also heard a lot of bad about Mother Theresa.
it's Teresa DC.. no h
ha 4/8 that is not a handle? I have tried everything, I think.
